Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Well he makes you smarter with football. Brian Baldinger thirteen
years in the NFL. They're called Baldi's breakdowns. I love
watching them and I told him that years ago, and
we're going to bring him on again. When he played
for the Cowboys, he played every offensive line position and
you can see it with his work. So you know,
I said, today's not a day to be cynical. The Jets,

(00:47):
the city of New York hasn't had good quarterback play
collectively for the decade. And I watched last night and
I'm like, buy your Super Bowl tickets. I'm not here
to be snarky. Yeah, it kind of looked like Green Bay.
Aron did it.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yes, it did, and really not just the passing and
how he spread the ball to every single possible receiver
last night.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
But I think the thing that got everybody excited was
his movement.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
I mean, he's running away from guys like Keon White
and josh Usha last night, getting out of Harm's way,
throwing it, you know, one dime after another. This right
here is just what we call a smoke route. It's
not even a call, it's just a look to Alan
Lazard for that touchdown. And so these kind of throws
from every angle. We've been watching it in preseason, We've
been watching it out there in Florida Park at practice,

(01:34):
but now reactors really see it in the game against
the defense that had played pretty well. But this kind
of movement right here, Colin, like getting out of harms
way and making that.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Throw right there to Lazar. Those are exciting plays.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Running Jet fan, I've been disappointed in the Bears offense,
but more I don't know what it is, and I
feel like, can you give the kid a run game?
Like give I mean, I don't care if you're making stakes,
but I don't even know what they are at this point.
What is the film telling you about Chicago?

Speaker 3 (02:06):
I agree the run game is bad right now that
they have not gotten it going, and they've got three
or four really good backs and then look Caleb got
off to a good start last week against Houston.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
He completed his first five passes in a row.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yeah, but I'm not sure you know what Shane Waldron
is doing on third downs, because they're not giving Caleb
any help. If it's third and three, for some reason,
they're going deep. If it's thirty nine, the three receivers
are jetting down the field, Caleb's ready to throw it,
and nobody's looking for the ball. And meanwhile here comes
to Neil Hunter and will Anderson Junior and they're just crunching.

(02:42):
And so there doesn't seem to be a lot of
timing in the passing game right now. To help Caleb Williams,
you'd love to see somebody just short. I mean, give
it to Dj Moore on a shallow cross and let
him do a Jerry Rice act and let him go thirty.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
But get the ball out of his hands quicker.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
On some of these star downs. It's killing their offense
right now. In that game, less we call them, it
was sixteen to ten forever. All they needed was one score,
that's right, one drive.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
They could have taken the lead.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
So wid you look, you watch personnel, So guys like
me watch TV. You look at line play and I've
said this, See the lamb of the Cowboys is a
great player home road, regardless of corner. Mica can be
a bit more situationally great. He can get a bit
in gulf by a better tackle. I see the Cowboys

(03:31):
d tackles interior not doing much. So here's my take.
Was the Saints so one off or have we overvalued
Dallas's perhaps their defensive talent.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
They got great speed, and when you run the ball
the way the Saints did last week right at them,
you nullify that speed. That formula has been out there
forever in the NFL. And so it didn't show up
against Cleveland because Cleveland didn't run the ball well.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
They're playing with backup tackles. They were not good on
the ground.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
But New Orleans with Talisa Fuaga at left tackle, who's
just a complete start at this point.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
I mean, they ran right at the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
They didn't have good run fits, and it notifies their
speed that they have at the safety and linebacker position.
And you know, the defensive tackles are a probably it
was last year in a playoff loss to Green Bay,
and it showed up again against the Saints.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
It might show up this week when the Ravens, you know,
play them.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
So Jalen Hurts, it's fascinating. When he has Aj Brown,
he wins as much as Patrick Mahomes, and when he doesn't,
he wins as much as Justin Fields. And I like
Jalen Hurts. I don't remember a receiver. I mean, the
Buffalo looks fine without Stefan Diggs. The Chiefs won two
Super Bowls without Tyreek Hill. I mean, I mean the

(04:49):
first game San Francisco, Brandon Ayu didn't do anything. And
San Francisco's offense role in the first week. When you
watch the Eagles, I had no idea until I saw
the numbers this week. Are they that dependent on a
sideline receiver? Is that what the film says?

Speaker 4 (05:06):
It does?

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (05:08):
You know, Jalen is the godfather to AJ's daughter, Like
they have a very close relationship now. But he's got
a relationship with Davante. But Aj is just a different animal.
He's a guy that Jalen completely trusts to throw the
ball up and he's gonna go get it. And they

(05:29):
the deep routes and the yards are the air yards
that they'll throw it to. AJ goes and gets the
ball like t O Wrent and got the ball. You know,
he's just aggressive to the ball in the air, and
Jalen trust him and really as the goodest Davante is.
That's not how he plays with Davante and he doesn't
play with anybody.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Else like that.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
And so there is a market difference in their passing attack.
And then when Jalen does scramble he gets out, his
first look is to AJ Brown and he's he's doing
his best to get into his vision to come get
the ball.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
That's what the great ones do. That's what you know.
I mean, every great receivers been able to do that
with their quarterback.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
So J McK and I go back and forth. I say,
brock Purty is like a trust fund kid. He basically
he was born into the Niners with Shanahan, Trent Kittle, Deebo.
It's it's like, I mean, does a check coming every Sunday.
It's like ridiculous. J mack and others say no, no,
he's leading this offense. So this week you're not gonna

(06:29):
have Deebo, McCaffrey or maybe Kittle again. When you'll watch him.
If I didn't tell you what his name was. If
I didn't tell you where he was drafted and you
just say you just saw Brock Purty? Is it Kyle?
Is it Christian? Is it Brock? This week? We're gonna
see him a litt naked out there. You're not gonna
have all the weapons. What do you make of him?

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Well, he wasn't born on third base, Colin like this
guy is. He sees the field. I mean, Kittle has
told me, Trent Williams has told me. When he steps
into the huddle, he gives Deebo comp he gives Trent confidence.
He speaks and commands the offense with confidence. Everybody would
be better, every quarterback would be better if they had
the compliment, a full, healthy compliment that Brock has played

(07:12):
with for much of his career. But he's still going
through his reads, he's still going through progressions. He's still
finding the open receiver. Nobody attacks the middle of the
field in their offense like San Francisco does.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
And those are not easy throws kylein. Those are layer
throws over linebackers' heads in front of safeties. And he's
got a magic touch when he makes.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Those, and he can extend plays to buy time to
find the play after the x's and o's plays out
with the best of them right now, and so look,
he's gonna be shorthanded, but I believe.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
In so are the Rams. So we'll see how that goes.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
But I believe that he has greatness all by himself,
a standalone with or without Kyle, with or without all
those weapons.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Listen, the Seahawks defense was bad, same players, it's really good.
The Chargers defense was terrible, same players, it's now excellent.
You tell me when you look at the Chargers, is
it scheme or is it just culture building by Harball.
It's the same guys, and it looks totally different.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
It's it's coaching matters. Coaching is a difference in this league.
Mike McDonald's doing a great job with his secondary in
his front right now in Seattle.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
And what Harves is doing is what he's always done.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
He's built a toughness into that team.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
They got the right guy and Joe Old, no question
about it. They wanted to run the football.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
But if you watch their defensive tackle play and the
linebacker play, it doesn't look anything like a Charger team
that we've seen in.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
The last five years.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Like they are they're in their depths. They're playing sound
run gap defense, run fits. The two new linebackers in there.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Know how to play with the defensive front that they
have in front of.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Them, and so it looks different because it's coach different
and there's a different demand about how things are supposed
to look and all players need con Honestly, it's just
a glimmer of confidence that what they're being.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Told works, and hardball will tell them every day this
is how it works.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
And I think Mike McDonald's that young guy that's climbing
and he's done it at every level at Michigan.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
He did it Baltimore last year.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Baltimore doesn't look like the same defense without him right now,
although many of the players are the scene and so
to me, it's coaching and how things are being coached.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Brian Valding, their NFL network analyst. He's terrific. Go to
watch dot nfl dot com personalized view. Baldi's breakdowns are
the best thing on the internet. Makes me so much smarter. Now, Okay,
go scuba diving. Go I know what you. I know
you want to hurry up, get out there. It's one
hundred and fifty yards from your past, get out there. Yes,
thanks boy.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
Thank you Tom, Thanks thanks for giving me that pass.
I'm ready to go.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
All right. Brian Baldinger does a great job. Thirteen years
of pro makes us all smarter.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
J Mac.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd Weekdays
and neon Easter. They're not a empacific with the news. No, no,
turn on the news. This is the Herdline News.

Speaker 6 (10:01):
All right, good guy, here we go.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
New Orleans Saints too, and oh what a start, both
wins by over twenty points. Uh well, Amara Saint Brown
and his brother, Saints receiver Equanimius Saint Brown said on
their podcast they had a little brotherly trash talk as
amar Ra isn't buying New Orleans.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Ye, we're shocked to any statements that had early.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
Oh you're not definitely like the Cobbays have those games
that a great game, great great game game. They just
have a bad game. So you probably just caught them
at one of their bad game. But you guys, like,
are you done? You guys still don't like you guys are.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
To We we know about all that you're talking going
on about the Saints from springtime.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
You know everyone counted us out we knew about all.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
That, like you counted us out. Everybody like, and we're not.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
We're not on a high horse.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
We won two games, you know, but that doesn't matter
now it's in the past, like we're.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Already on the next game, like we gotta do it again.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
I like that. That's funny. I think I do buy
a new one because it's coach Let's like Seattle's defense.
It's coach led, Saints offense, coach led.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
I buy it.

Speaker 6 (11:03):
Did you have Eagles in blazon five or Saints?

Speaker 1 (11:07):
I want to stay away from that game. Can I
just watch games?

Speaker 5 (11:10):
Like?

Speaker 6 (11:10):
No, not allowed.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
I just wanted to watch.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
So we're not doing Eagles.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
Yeah, we're not doing it in headlines. But I think
you have to bet the Eagles.

Speaker 6 (11:21):
Getting plus three you.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Have to do I think it plus three and a half.
You have to bet the Eagles. They are not the
same team and a half without aj Brown.

Speaker 6 (11:29):
Right, But the Saints can be run on.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
And there's a world where the Eagles say, this is
a Jalen Hurd Saquon Barkley game. Let's get back on track,
and Barkley has a buck fifty, right, keep the ball
away from this mighty offense in Clint kobiak No, I
just hold on the Eagles on Monday Night had two
quarterback hits of Kirk Cousins and one sack. If they're

(11:52):
not getting pressure, Carr is going to carve him up.
I think Vick Fonngio. I know you old dog new tricks.
He better dial up some pressure here or they will
be in trouble. Like you said, you think he can
change his stripes.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
I don't know, like there's some type like I like
Baltimore over Dallas, but I don't like it enough to
put it in the Blazing five. I think the line
should be Baltimore favored by one, one and a half.
I'm just taking Lamar over Dak. That's my feeling. Lamar
is better than Dak in big games against good teams,
so that's I'm betting. Basically, Lamar over Dak. Home field neutralized.
I don't think Dallas home fields anything. So real quick

(12:25):
on Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 5 (12:26):
I got a buddy, loves my neighbor, and he's, you know,
a Philadelphia guy. He's a huge Eagles fan. He's got
this rabbit Eagles fan base.

Speaker 6 (12:34):
They're out. Have I told you this? They're out a
lot of them on Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Yeah, well, I think they're nuts. I think they're crazy.

Speaker 5 (12:41):
A great producer here came up with a stat Jalen
Hurts second most interception since the start of last season
in the league, and he has twenty four giveaways fumbles
end interceptions, which is the most of any quarterback in
the NFL.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Column.

Speaker 6 (12:57):
I like Hurts a lot. You do too. Since Stike
and left, we knew he wasn't great life.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
He's very turnover prone. No, it's fair. I'm not denying
Eagles fans.

Speaker 5 (13:06):
They're done with Siriani, but it sounds like a lot
of them are like, not Hurts.

Speaker 6 (13:10):
I'm not seeing any.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Well, listen, this organization bailed on Carson Wentz after a
huge contract. Philadelphia bails on coaches and quarterbacks. They're not
a loyal city, which is why I actually respect him
a lot of time. I mean, seriously, I respect them.

Speaker 6 (13:23):
Lack of loyalty.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Well, I mean these these teams and businesses that are
just putting their arms around stuff that doesn't work. I
respect philadelph Philadelphia is like, like Pittsburgh could use a
little bit of this, Like, look, grow up, it's an
offensive league, Stop spending all your money on defense. Like
I'm Philadelphia. Doug Peterson won a Super Bowl beat Belichick
was clever, and they're like the standard is the standard
in Philadelphia. It's high.

Speaker 6 (13:45):
They spent on people moved on to based on Carson
Wentz one Barkley. They have an offense.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
I wouldn't I got moving off Carson Wentz. I'm not
moving off Jalen Hurts. If the Eagles start one and two,
you think I'm gonna move off Jalen.

Speaker 6 (14:00):
I'm not saying move off.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
No, no way. Now, I like him a.

Speaker 6 (14:04):
Lot, so they changed the offense that character.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
I like his mobility. I don't think I mean, he's
a smaller guy. I don't think he's as good from
the pocket as the top five or six guys in
the league. But he's he was hot. You know, Monday
was not his loss. That was the loss on the
back end of the Eagles defense that wasn't on.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
It on Barkley dropping it or the offensive play call
by Kelly.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Blame Barkley and blame the back end of the defense
that wasn't on Jalen Hurts bled it, but blame him.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
Listen, you loose Tiking. You had an offensive coordinator that
didn't work. They have Kellen Moore. If they go eight
and nine, they're not going eight.

Speaker 6 (14:38):
Nine, I don't think.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
So I like to go they're going They're going ten
and seven or eleven and six.

Speaker 6 (14:44):
By this, they beat the Saints on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Okay, I got that one.

Speaker 6 (14:49):
Next up, courage Colin. This is not great.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
Joe Mixon, who's off to an awesome start, is not
practicing this week ahead of the match up with the Vikings.
Sounds like he's not gonna go. But guess what his backup,
Damon Pierce Remember that little bowling ball.

Speaker 6 (15:05):
He's also hurt. So it sounds like they're down.

Speaker 5 (15:08):
To the number three running back, who just happens to
be Cam Akers, who's the former Rams now.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
He talented, but fumble prom The fumble killed.

Speaker 6 (15:16):
Me against the Bears last week.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
He was on the Vikings last year, remember for half
a season. Now he faces the Vikings as maybe the starter.
I gotta say, I'm gonna say some stuff because I
have this game in headlines. Next, this is a really
good matchup Brian Floores against CJ.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
Stroud. I think it's a listen man to get this
slate this Sunday is it's good.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
Really, I will say this, and I said this for
two years. Joe Mixon is one of the best most
productive backs in the league in the last five six years.
I don't know why. I know he's got off fields.

Speaker 5 (15:47):
I'm not saying well, no, no, but you could talk
to Bengals guy Ryan over here, who says, you know,
the Bengals all the run game has not been great
the last couple of years with Mixon, but we see.

Speaker 6 (15:56):
Mix In as like a talented guy.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
I mean he can give him the ball thirty time.
How many running backs in the league today you could
say it carried it thirty times.

Speaker 6 (16:03):
Not McCaffrey, No, I mean no.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
I mean it was Derreck Henry for several years. But
I mean thirty carries is like nineteen seventy four football.
You don't do that anymore.

Speaker 5 (16:13):
I think he had thirty carries in Week one, yeah,
and now he's hurt in Week three, So like maybe
the strategy isn't thirty carries.

Speaker 6 (16:19):
Anyway. We're gonna wrap up.

Speaker 5 (16:20):
Non NFL topic Colin Caitlin Clark, see regular season's over.
She's going to the playoffs, right obviously, she kept off
her rookie season with the most attended game in w
NBA history, twenty thousand.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
Everybody's fired up for the playoffs. Okay, Game one of.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
The playoffs Colin is Sunday, NFL Sunday. The WNBA scheduled
the game a playoff game, Kaitlin Clark's first playoff game
up against the NFL one o'clock window. This is disappointing
and also ticket prices are extremely expensive to see Kaitlin
Clark against the Connecticut sign.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
I think she will draw, but I mean that is
the WNBA. What is the issue we've had? Are you
guys like paying attention.

Speaker 6 (17:02):
To this is embarrassing?

Speaker 5 (17:05):
Like you look at this one o'clock slate, I've got,
I got three TVs fired up. I'm sorry Caitlin Clark
is not getting on one of the top three.

Speaker 6 (17:10):
There's too many good games and we like Kaitlin Clark.

Speaker 5 (17:14):
By the way, I didn't even know this. WNBA plays
three games in the first round, the first two.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
By the way, the WNBA draft is now more interesting
than the NBA draft because I've heard of the players
and their playoffs are what the NBA should be urgency.
Three games first round. You don't need seven game first round.
That's what you get. No upsets almost never historically in
the first round of the playoffs, because if you knock
somebody off a couple of times, I gotta beat the

(17:40):
eight seed's gotta beat the one seed four times. I
gotta beat the Celtics in these four times.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
Look at the lineup here, So the first two games
are at the higher seed.

Speaker 6 (17:50):
If somehow kateln Clark can pull up one of those wins,
they get to host them.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
See what the NBA should do.

Speaker 6 (17:55):
That's spicy.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
No, I think that's really smart. It makes so what
it basically does is game three.

Speaker 6 (18:04):
If you can get there, all you have to do,
all you.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Have to do is split. Well, yeah, that's the white
the NBA should.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
I'm surprised they didn't push the first game onto Monday
Night Battle Monday Night Football.

Speaker 6 (18:16):
There's two Mondy Night Football games, but.

Speaker 5 (18:18):
They're they're not great games. Bengals Washington is a huge spread.
Buffalo is a big spread against Jackson. I mean, we'll
watch them, obviously, But Caitlin Clark in the playoffs, I
do have a ticket on her. Who win the championship
and the fever it seems unlikely, but we'll see.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
All right.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Jmack with the news.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Well, that's the news, and thanks for stopping by The
Herd Line News.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
All right, I've made my picks jamaxx picks. He's been
pretty good this year. Little edge on me through two weeks.
That's next live in La. It's the Herd.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
and noon Eastern nin am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
FS one and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 7 (19:07):
We never have enough time to get to everything we
want to get to.

Speaker 8 (19:10):
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Yeah, you blubber lit in me.

Speaker 7 (19:24):
Well you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.

Speaker 8 (19:28):
Well, it's a Covino and Rich after show and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 7 (19:42):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also Uncensored, by
the way, so maybe we'll go at it even a
little harder. It's gonna be the best after show podcast
of all time.

Speaker 8 (19:52):
There you go, over Promising, and remember you could see
on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen Over Promised with
Covino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or
wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 5 (20:05):
Go to the Fox Sports app to play Fucked Super six.

Speaker 6 (20:08):
Spoons of by DraftKings. It's free and you can win
cash prizes.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
One of the questions is who will have the most
passing yards this week? Rock Purdy, Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott
or Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 6 (20:21):
Who do you got, Coward Cooper?

Speaker 1 (20:24):
I think the Saints Eagles is a bit of a shootout,
so I would take Hurts. I just think that you're
gonna have to I don't I think the line's appropriate.
I think it's a field goal game, and I don't
think you're holding New Orleans down to seventeen points. So
that thing feels like thirty three thirty to me. So
even without aj Brown, I think they'll throw the ball.
They got good tight ends, they'll move it around. Deva
Da Smith's great player too.

Speaker 5 (20:45):
Yeah, Brock Purty, you can't back missing all the receivers
I just got.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
And what that tells you is if I was if
I was San Francisco, I would run the ball, shorten
the game. You're not gonna have to score a ton
to beat the Rams. Cooper and Pookinako are out. I'd
be like, you know what forty carries, Let's get out
of here, so far, get home. We're all banged up.
Last thing I want is to spread it out, throw
the ball, kill the clock. So sometimes when you're playing

(21:11):
a ding up team and you're dinged up, you just
want a short game without injuries and get on the
flight home. All right, Well, we do it every week
at this time, and then when we get into the
football season, they become his picks and he's off to
a pretty good start. We call it tomorrow's headlines today
Ravens Cowboys, the big Marquey Game of the Weekend on

(21:32):
Fox lines about Ravens minus one. It feels about right.

Speaker 6 (21:35):
It's rare.

Speaker 5 (21:36):
I think we hit like ninety seven percent last season
when we were in locksdown.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
I'm just kidding.

Speaker 5 (21:41):
The headline for Ravens Cowboys will be you lookl marvelous
Ravens get facelift in Dallas win.

Speaker 6 (21:49):
I really like Baltimore here.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
So again, you had this at only twenty and one
for Lamar against the NFC Cowboys have not seen him
since twenty twenty. This strikes me as a big Lamar
Dereck Henry, get Derek Henry going on the ground again.
The Dallas run defense got Gash Kamara just chewed them
up last week.

Speaker 6 (22:06):
And you know, let's be honest, this Dallas offense has not.

Speaker 5 (22:09):
Looked particularly great. Good spot for the Ravens defense, which
by the way, has not looked good at all.

Speaker 6 (22:14):
Yeah, since losing, we can.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Have some points in this game too. There's there's some
weapons in this game, and I.

Speaker 5 (22:18):
Know the sky is falling for Baltimore, but when they
were up twenty three thirteen in the fourth quarter with
like fourteen minutes left, it didn't feel that way. So
I think there's a little overreaction to baltimore struggles down
the stretch against Gardner Minshew, but uh yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:32):
Give me the Ravens here in in twenty three, twenty
or thereabouts.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
You know, J Mack, this next pick. Sam Darnold's had
quite a season he has. This is a good game,
This is a great game. Tomorrow's headlines today. Who would
have guessed a couple of years ago, Texans Viking ja
gotta lot.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 5 (22:49):
Now they injury report for the Texans is scaring me?
This Joe Mixon news and Damon Pierce.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
The headline will be.

Speaker 5 (22:56):
Tooths Company threes A. Stroud Texans en zone gets crowded.
I like Houston. There's some interesting stuff going on. So
Brian Flores loves to blitz. By the way, if you
watched any of the all twenty two against the Niners,
he was down on some exotic stuff. Everybody up at
the line of scrimmage and then everybody backs off and
perty was not processing it quickly enough. Do you know

(23:18):
who one of the best quarterbacks in the league is
against the blitz?

Speaker 6 (23:21):
CJ.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
Stroud seventeen of twenty this season. Wow, when blitz people
try to get him always young quarterbacks off war slump.
He's dodging everything. Stroud is crushing it off the blitz. Now,
I want to add this cam Aker situation definitely scares
me because he is fumble prone.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
As we know, they're really good, but Sean McVay just
bailed on him. Yeah, I'm done with the fumble.

Speaker 5 (23:41):
Lego Collins, who is an injury scare this week at practice,
but he seems good to go.

Speaker 6 (23:45):
If they have all the receivers and the tight end
Dalton Schultz, I think they can make headway with the Vikings.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
And you never want to get caught looking ahead. But
this is a bit of a sandwich spot right for
Flores last week, huge game home opener Niners. Now you
play a non conference game against Houston next week, big
one against the Packers and Jordan Love in division matchup.
I think the Vikings get caught napping here, Texans get
the dub.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
I agree with you. Now, who thought this in August
would be a matchup? Tomorrow's headlines today Lions and the
Arizona This feels like a shootout.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
Yeah, so you had a great I don't know, maybe
it was my point yours, I don't know. But Week
three is kind of like, oh, these are who teams really?

Speaker 6 (24:29):
Last night? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (24:29):
The Patriots?

Speaker 5 (24:30):
Patriots, Okay, this is who they are. Are we going
to see that In Lion's Cardinals, the headline will be my.

Speaker 6 (24:37):
Baby back, baby back, baby back Gibbs.

Speaker 5 (24:40):
I like Gibbs, Jamir Jamar Gibbs, the Lions running back.
Listen the Cardinals. The linebackers can't cover anybody. The defense
is mostly a joke. I think the Lions say, oh
my gosh, look at the film. Why the hell did
we throw fifty five times last week? Let's get back
to ground and pound. We've got the best offensive line
in league. And oh, by the way, this Arizona offense

(25:03):
is looking like it could be like a top five
to six unit.

Speaker 6 (25:06):
You need to keep the ball away from them.

Speaker 5 (25:07):
A lot of Montgomery, a lot of Gibbs short stuff.
Amarasaint Brown is good to go. He's gonna play this week.

Speaker 6 (25:14):
And I just want to remind the genius Ben Johnson,
you know.

Speaker 5 (25:17):
You can use Laporta in the red zone. Remember he
had like eight red zone touchdowns last year. He has
like three targets in the red zone this season.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Do you feel like, is it just me, Detroit's getting
too cute.

Speaker 6 (25:28):
They're overthinking it one hundred percent.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
Ben, You've got the best online goff is great on
play action, not fifty five pass attempts. Run the ball,
use your tight end.

Speaker 5 (25:39):
And I know the thought was, oh, timp is dinged
up in the secondary, let's take advantage. Well, I'll tell
you right now, Arizona's defense stinks everywhere. It's not good.
They have no players. Look what the Bills did with Cook.

Speaker 6 (25:49):
In the opener.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
I mean they just ran wild Detroit to do that. Now,
this total is high. I think it's fifty one and
a half. I would actually consider the under just give
it some thought in case Detroit says, hey we're to
hold the ball for forty minutes, that's not a bad strategy.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
Again, that's another thing when you're on the road. You know,
the way these teams look on the road is let's
go do work, make it quick. If you have the
running game, Yeah, don't put your quarterback in harm's way
before divisional play. That's not a bad call.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
And we have banged on the Lions for not looking
sharp the first two weeks. This is I think a
get right spot against an anemic defense.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Tomorrow's deadlines today Bears Colts. I like Chicago in this one.

Speaker 6 (26:29):
Yeah, I do too.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
I know there's some stats floating around, some trends with
a lot of people like Colts are owing too.

Speaker 6 (26:34):
You got to back an oh and two team against
the spread.

Speaker 5 (26:37):
The headline will be win ne the pooh Bears look
sweet as honey, kick Caleb the dub You know, listen,
this is a Bears team that looked very bad last week.

Speaker 6 (26:49):
I thought against the Texans despite the cover offensively.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
But they hung around in the game.

Speaker 5 (26:53):
Yeah, this is more about what's going on with the
Colts defense. So DeForest Buckner to the ir their top
cornerback is gone. They have inies all over the defense. Hey,
DeAndre Swift is a good running back.

Speaker 6 (27:03):
Can we get him on track? Colin He has like
done nothing through two games.

Speaker 5 (27:08):
I think the Bears offensively should have a lot of
success against the Colts defense. And by the way, Gus Bradley,
you know he likes to sit in his cover three.
We even broke this down last week. He just sits
back in his own Packers said, we're gonna hand the
ball off if he does that again.

Speaker 6 (27:21):
This should be a big game.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
For DeAndre Swift. I know my brother has him in fantasy.
He's very excited. An injury note for the Colts, Michael Pittman.
Check that injury report. We'll see if he practices today.
If he doesn't go, then it's a lot of like
Alec Pearce and Richardson's.

Speaker 6 (27:36):
Missed a lot of throws. I know there's some questions about.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
Richards I told you how to GM text me this
week and say his tape in this this year has
been awful. Last week he just said he's missing high school.
Stopped Greg Coach sell E caolled that, yeah.

Speaker 6 (27:51):
Now.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
Final note is, you know, if you are into the
narrative stuff, iber Flus used to be an indie perhaps
a revenge spot for Matti Eberflus if you like that
kind of thing.

Speaker 6 (28:02):
Eberflus and the Bears get the dub on the road.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
Finally, Tomorrow's headlines today, I took Atlanta Chiefs Falcons? What
say you?

Speaker 3 (28:11):
You know?

Speaker 5 (28:12):
I do like agreeing with you a lot, and I
know you got a big weekend ahead, but I don't
want to ruin it.

Speaker 6 (28:18):
I don't like the Falcons.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
The headline will be living beyond your means mistakes too
costly for Falcons. I like the Chiefs here, and again
this goes back to a lot of narrative stuff. Oh
the sky's falling, Kansas City doesn't look good. They got
lucky against the Ravens. They got lucky last.

Speaker 6 (28:37):
Week against the Bengals.

Speaker 5 (28:39):
You know, again, I try to look into some of
this scheme oriented stuff, and what have the Falcons done
historically with Rahie Morris and their new defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake.
They want to sit back and cover three, cover four zone, Well.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
You can't zone. Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
He annihilates zone defenses because he's smart, He's processes quickly.

Speaker 6 (28:58):
Rashi Rice crushes zone.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Travis Kelce about Rashi Rice. If you if you got
a parlay or a prop bet Rashi Rice against the Chiefs.
He's gonna he's against I don't know, I don't think
they'll win, but he's yeah.

Speaker 6 (29:11):
He's gonna go off against his own.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
And I just want to say, like these these players
hear the stuff Colin Travis Kelsey's been hearing all week
that he's washed and he had what one catch for
five yards? And I think he's gone like four or
five straight regular season games under fifty yards. This is
a really good spot for Travis Kelcey against his soft
zone defense. And the final note is Kirk Cousins. I
know he had an awesome comeback against the Eagles. They

(29:34):
barely blitzed him and barely got to him. What does
Spagnolo do? Number seven in blitz percentage last year, fifth
so far this season. He's gonna be bringing the kitchen
sink against Kirk Cousins, who's immobile. I can see some
mistakes from Cousins. I like the Chiefs here in a
primetime spot to get the win. I know it's a
three and a half, but I think Mahome shows up

(29:54):
here and they win.

Speaker 6 (29:55):
They wouldn't by a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Hey guy, they'll breaking news.

Speaker 6 (29:57):
Oh no, what happened?

Speaker 1 (29:59):
The Charger are officially listing Justin Herbert as questionable against Pittsburgh.
That's Herbert told reporters he suffered a high ankle spraining
against Carolina. Those are those last yeah? Okay. Matt Lafleur,
Packer head coach announced Jordan Love is officially questionable with
the knee injury. I think i'd keep him out And

(30:21):
if you had a loss to Indy, but.

Speaker 6 (30:22):
You beat Why would you play Herbert?

Speaker 1 (30:25):
I don't think. I don't think I would.

Speaker 6 (30:27):
I'm not messing around.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
I would get her beast next week.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
Yeah, easton stick, I mean the season. If Herbert's out
for like ten games, it's over for this.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
The Steelers are going to be three and oh. And
I'm still not gonna pen on the hurd higher No.

Speaker 6 (30:37):
No, they said they don't deserve it.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
They don't deserve it. They might not get me my
eleven seed all year. They go nine to oh, I'll
have them eleven.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
Yeah, they could win this game nine to six or something.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
And one blowout. My blowout of the weekend is Bengals
blowout Washington. That's my blowout of the There's gonna be
one blowout.

Speaker 6 (30:56):
Way to go out on a limb, there, buddy, I
gotta pick a blowout.

Speaker 5 (31:01):
Oh, but give me the Browns twenty seven to nine
over the Giants. By the way, Brown's injury report looking healthy.
I know we talked about it early.

Speaker 6 (31:09):
Looks like both tackles are back and Djoku will not play.
But Giants secondaries back. I mean Jalen Jayden Daniels did.

Speaker 5 (31:17):
Not punt last week against the Giants like Deshaun Watson.
This is another get right spot for him.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
Do you understand how bad Jaden Daniels today is better
than Deshaun Watson. I don't even think there's any question
Deshaun Watson. I'm not even I'm serious about this. Is
he a starter on a good team.

Speaker 6 (31:34):
I don't know that I can push back that much
against that.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
I mean, Jaden Daniels has juice to show.

Speaker 6 (31:40):
Watson has two drives. That's it. Give me two good drives.
He had one last week.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
I'll say this, The Giants offensive line has played well,
and they've drafted it, so it should. Secondly, now that Neighbors,
Neighbors is a twelve, they're gonna give him nine cashes a.

Speaker 6 (31:55):
Week targets I believe.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Yeah, No, no, no, he's nine ten targets. He's a he's
an eight cast. It's all the other guys on their team,
like Darius Slayton, and where they're now in their appropriate
spot as twos and threes and fours they're receiving. It's
like adding an astier staff. Now everybody goes back a
slot in the staff the Giants. If Neighbors is what
I think, he's becoming and this old line, the Giants

(32:20):
will score some points.

Speaker 6 (32:21):
Hey, Denzel Ward, I hope you're watching. Get healthy. Lock
up nigh.

Speaker 5 (32:24):
Well, don't lock him up too much. I got him
in fantasy, but I think the Browns win that game.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
USC Michigan.

Speaker 6 (32:29):
Who you like, I'm on USC?

Speaker 1 (32:31):
Okay, all right, I am too, not at your level though.
