Speaker 1 (00:25):
Mets Phillies. I still can't get over that they said
last night. Mets and Phillies have never ever met in
the postseason in any series. That is weird to me.
I mean, the Phillies have been around since the late
eighteen hundreds, They've been to I think like eight World Series.
Mets have been around since Casey Stingle in the Polo Grounds.
They've never met in the postseason. That's just nuts to me.
(00:46):
And the Podreys Dodgers series. Two hour drive separates those
teams maybe three in bad traffic. Whatevs. That's gonna be feisty.
Here's Jmack with the news, No no turns.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
This is the line news.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Stright to start with the big news in the NFC
East Molik neighbors so for the concussion last Thursday against
the Cowboys and he was still in concussion protocol all week.
He's been ruled out of the game against Seattle. This
is brutal for the Giants. Neighbors leads the NFL in
targets with fifty two as three touchdowns. He has been scintillating.
He's also been the only offense the Giants have had
(01:23):
so far. Yep, the Seahawks line has been bumped up
to seven. I see it going higher. I can't make
a case for the Giants at all. Colin this is
it is a tough one for Brian Dable. Giants lose this.
The rest of the schedules not easy. Again, I know
we don't want to put guys on the hot seat.
We're not in the business of firing coaches. But it's
starting to get late early.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
For the Giants.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yeah, but again, this is what happens when a you
reach on a quarterback and be double down on said quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
After this, you have the Bengals and the Eagles, and
the Steelers.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
And Wino Smith, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts and suddenly a
capable offense in Justin Fields Jaden Daniels and again Andy
Dalton Baker mayfield back Derek Carr.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
I mean he is Week ten in Munich Giants Panthers.
Is that one of the weaker games? You know, maybe
maybe this season in Munich the Giants Giants could be
one and eight.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
You start sending games like that over to Dusseldorf, They're
not gonna want the.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Enough You just like saying, dusl door next up. Oh
this is spicy, So cheer Sanders. I think you've cooled
on him a little bit. But the Colorado quarterback has
been good this season. Colorado was surprising start to the year.
His coach is Deon Sanders, his father, and he said
he cannot control who drafts should door, but he's gonna
do his best to make sure it's a good organization.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
And listen closely.
Speaker 5 (02:45):
Call him.
Speaker 6 (02:47):
What do you do business wise if you'd to Dolts,
do you go into the draft and take a quarterback,
which what I'm saying, or do you say tour Let's
let's check this out, Let's see what we're gonna do.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Let's say because of the tour injury and things don't
work out and it needs the open door and they
make a business to sit in and go into.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
The draft and boom, Chad Door to the Dolphins.
Speaker 6 (03:07):
Look at that, So you just got the revelation puff.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Well, I wouldn't call the Dolphins a good organization. Secondly,
the Dolphins have to fix that old line. So this
is a team that I maybe you threw this out there,
were you the one that Tyreek Hill trade? Yeah, I
don't think it's crazy. And Tyreek's got huge value on
the market. So that's not a knock on Tyreek Hill.
It's that he's one of the few receivers you could
get a number one for. So they've got to figure
(03:34):
out it's a it's a there's a couple of tackles
in the first round. If I'm Miami and this thing
turns into a six win season, I draft a left
tackle and I may with my second pick, honestly go
back to the offensive line or maybe tight end. You
got you got to give to us some help here.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Well, and you're seeing to But you know, the Schador
centers thing is interesting. It sounds like Dion affloating the Dolphins.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
Why why would he do that? Well, Miami's an awesome city.
If you could pick where you want to go in the.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
NFL, they can't do that. It's not the way it works.
They're paying too.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Really, Eli Manning didn't pull that crap.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
We've seen it, but done before quarterbacks can decide John
Elway on.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
So who's going to draft a quarterback? For sure, Caroline
is going to be considering it, The New York Giants
are going to be considering it, The Raiders are going
to be considering it. New England No, So there's three
teams and we got we have four quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
So if the Dolphins are drafting in the top five,
you don't think they're considering a quarterback. Look at the season,
go off the Rails, which.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
They've just paid two of My take is they move
down and they have to get multiple picks. So if
they want to keep Tyreek Hill, take that number five
six pick, move down, get multiple picks, keep Tyreek, but
you can't throw the deep ball to Tyreek and Jalen
when Tua doesn't have time to throw the way.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
Have you seen Jalen Waddle's numbers without Tua. It's like Jesus,
He's like just running Cardio out there.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
I mean, seriously, the winner in this to a situation. Strangely,
even though he was concostant in a long term aspect
that shows you how viable two is to the offense. Yeah,
I mean it's fallen off Bryce Young leaves. You're like, oh,
Carolina's got players of leaves. It's like Miami did J J.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
Love goes down? Malik Nabors comes in.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
No believe Miami willis Now some of this is Miami
may have the weakest backup quarterback situation in the league.
That's on the guys upstairs.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Yeah, I would not rule out Dion using his outsized
influence to steer his kid to a certain franchise that
he would like to go to. I think that's definitely
in play.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
Colin.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Final story is the Chiefs putting Rashi Rice on injured
reserve while waiting for his MRI results to come back.
They already lost Hollywood Brown to a preseason soldier injury.
Now that we're gonna be without Rice for at least
the next four games, and there's been a lot of
speculation about whether Casey will add a weapon for Patrick Mahomes.
One of the names besides d Hop and DeVante Adams is.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
A Marie Cooper well Amari Cooper was asked about it.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
He says he hasn't seen any of that talk, Colin.
Speaker 5 (06:08):
Nah, I'm not aware of it.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
No.
Speaker 6 (06:12):
It was usually if I don't have a good game,
I'll try to stay up with social media. That's one
thing that I've learned, because you know, I could be
kind of sensitive about the waiter I play.
Speaker 5 (06:21):
No, I haven't.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
I haven't seen any of any of that kid.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
He's got a market. It's not Tyreek Hill market, but
he's got a market.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
He's just going to be a game.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Remember how the Chiefs added jujusmith Schuster and it was
like productive for.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
The little god Dak's numbers from a MARII left for
a year.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Amari Cooper's better than ju jusmth Schuster. He's instantly would
be one.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Yes, yes, yes, no question.
Speaker 5 (06:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
This rice thing is still very mysterious. What was the
last time you got an MRI? I never have never
have I told you the story about my MRI machine
visit No.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
So they tell you are you claustrophobic?
Speaker 3 (06:53):
And I'm like I don't think so, why and they're like, yeah,
you got to be in the machine. I was like,
isn't my head sticking out? They're like no, I lasted like.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
Three minutes in there. It's it's dicey, but they give
you the MRI results quickly.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
This is a billion dollar franchise and we're still waiting
for MRI results.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
See, you're you're being a little conspiratorial.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Something's going on. You can admit that.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
I think it's different. I don't know if it's something's
going on, but it's different. It happened a week ago.
So yes, I am waiting for the results. You usually
get the results the next afternoon. All right, Jmack with
the news. That's the news, and thanks for stopping by the.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Herd Line News. Be sure to catch live editions of
The Herd weekdays and Noone Eastern am Pacific.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
So Albert Breer is joining us uh DeVante Adams Davante
And this is what athletes do. They go to their
social media and they put up some references. So he
put up some Edgar Allen Poe reference and and and
(08:04):
so you know, Ravens never more were thinking Baltimore, Albert Breer,
solve the riddle, what what does that mean? From Devonte Adams.
Speaker 7 (08:16):
So here's my interpretation, Like he wants to go to
the Jets. I think the Raiders need to drum up
a market because other teams involved in this are convinced
that he's trying to engineer move to the Jets, and
so for this to happen, he may need other teams involved.
Speaker 5 (08:36):
The Bills have inquired. I don't know if their cap
situation would allow it. The Steelers are involved, they could
do it.
Speaker 7 (08:45):
You got the Saints who are on the periphery of
the whole thing, and they were one of the teams
that DeVante Adams told the Raiders he would be happy
with the trade too, given that they, like the Jets,
have a quarterback that he knows very well and Derek Carr.
And so you know, if the Steelers and the Bills
are skeptical that they're going to be taken seriously in
(09:07):
this whole thing, well they're not going to want to
be used as pawns. And so how do you figure
out what the real value of the player is if
you're the Raiders, if you only have one bidder, and
if the return isn't going to be huge because I
don't think it's going to be huge here.
Speaker 5 (09:23):
I mean, if you.
Speaker 7 (09:24):
Really want to look at it right like and just
break the whole thing down, I mean, he's got a
lot of similarities to Keenan Allen and Stephan Diggs right
around the same age.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
You look at the numbers from last year, the numbers
are very very close.
Speaker 6 (09:37):
Now.
Speaker 7 (09:37):
I know Keenan Allen and Stephan Diggs played with better quarterbacks,
but the numbers are close all with you know, kind
of one year and we'll see contract situations if there
is more than a year on their contract.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
Steph's got cut down. Allen was in a contract here.
Speaker 7 (09:52):
DeVante Adams more or less isn't a contract here, and
so you know, I think the value here is probably
a third or fourth round pick. Steph trade was about
the value a third round pick was the future two
with a five and a six coming back with Diggs
and then Keenan Allen went for a four. So if
you're the Raiders and you're sitting there and teams are
saying like, well, you know, we're just you know, like
(10:14):
like we're we're monitoring this, but we don't want to
give you a hard offer yet because we think he's
going to the Jets, and the Jets of the team
is most serious about it. The Jets know they're the
only bidder, and the Jets did the Jets come in with.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
A three or a four.
Speaker 7 (10:28):
The Raiders might want to find somebody who can bid
that up a little bit. So that's sort of where
I think it's at. I mean, I think Adams does
have some control here in that no one is going
to want to bring him in without him signing off
on the idea, right, same thing as it was with
Brandon Ayuk, where the contract situation sort of dictates that
(10:48):
you're not going to be able to have the guy
past the next few months if you don't have him
on board with what you're doing, and even as a
rental he might, you know, not be the best guy
to have if he's there against as well. So it's
just a complicated situation. But everybody that I've talked about,
(11:08):
everybody I've talked to about this thing, has told me,
like the belief is that Adams is trying to engineer
a trade to the Jets, and that he and Rodgers
have been in contact, and you know, I.
Speaker 5 (11:19):
Think that that eventually happens. It's just so complicated, all.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Right, let's let's talk Steelers. So Jmac floated this, I
think it was yesterday of the day before. He said,
this is a long calf injury for Russell Wilson. How
long is it going to last? Is this a saving
the brand? Saving face? Is Mike said, yeah, Justin's it.
Justin's went even last week second half outscored the Colts
twenty one to ten. Arthur likes him. Arthur can do more,
(11:44):
can move the pocket more. Is this potentially? I mean,
Russell's been very brain brand sensitive?
Speaker 5 (11:50):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Has he been told this is Justin's team?
Speaker 7 (11:53):
I'll give you some context here, I mean Colin Like,
so you know what Arthur Smith did with Ryan Tannehill
in Tennessee. The Steelers offensive coaches think they can do
more with Justin Fields than Arthur did with with Ryan
Tannehill as a Titan in that reclamation project, and they
wound up getting to an AFC Championship game with Ryan
(12:14):
Tannehill as their quarterback. So that shows you what they
think of Justin Fields. He's got better week over a week.
His completion percentages up, his sack ratio is down, the
balls coming out quickly. And now we have this evidence
from last week of him playing from behind, which I
mean to me, like, that's the true mark of quarterbacking
in the NFL, Playing from behind, playing on third down, playing.
Speaker 5 (12:34):
In these situations where the defense knows you have to
throw it.
Speaker 7 (12:37):
And the fact that he succeeded with that, it's another
box that's checked here. The coaches there love him. If
you've been around him, you know, he's sort of a
born Steeler, you know, like just with his mentality and
his approach and who he is, and so, you know,
I think the idea of Russell Wilson getting the job
back period has been dicey for a few weeks now.
(12:58):
I don't know if there's any of that rich cannery
going on, but I mean Mike Tomlin kind of telegraphed
it for you where he named him the star before
the season, and when he's been asked the last couple
of weeks, the answer is, well, I don't have to
make that decision yet, right. He's saying that now. That
tells me which way he's leaning.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Yeah, the you mentioned this first, We followed your lead,
Gronk says, and I believe him. You know, Belichick reminds
me of Parcels. He liked broadcasting until somebody called him
about coaching, and then he didn't like broadcasting as much.
And I could see Bill like Kelsey Nick Saban. Those
guys are broadcasters like that. That's what they're gonna do.
(13:37):
They're gonna get into that stuff. I can see Bill
tomorrow if Jacksonville gets beat again, I mean I can
see no. Now, does Belichick want to wait to the
off season? But you know, all of a sudden, you
go to the off season, there's four or five young,
hot shot coordinators out there. You may not get me
(13:58):
first dibbs on Trevor Lawrence reclamation project, right. I mean,
I guarantee you you go to the off season every
year there's one or two college guys and two or
three coordinators and they don't want to do personnel, and
Bill does, and the GM on those teams are gonna
be like, I'll take the young guy. I don't want Belichick.
So my take is, Trevor Lawrence beaten down. What if
(14:20):
they lose again this weekend? Do you think they'd call Belichick?
Speaker 4 (14:24):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (14:26):
So they have to go to London after this week.
So I think this would be a tough spot to
fire your coach in. You know where you're going to
an interim coach. Now you're going overseas for two weeks.
The flip side of that is I also know that
billionaires do not like being embarrassed, right, And shod Con
said before the season that he believes this could be
(14:46):
the best Jaguars roster that ever was.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
And they're own four.
Speaker 7 (14:50):
They got a division game this week, maybe they wind
up on and five. Now they're going to London, where
Sead Cohn owns a soccer team and has invested a
lot of money at oh to five. Then they play
the Bears, then they play the Patriots. On paper, those
should be winnable games for a Jacksonville team that was
in the playoffs what is it twenty twenty one months ago? Right,
(15:10):
with a quarterback that they just paid fifty five million
dollars a year. So I could see Shad Cohn coming
back upset with where his team is. I could see
him making a move. And this is a situation that
I do think would be attractive to Bill Belichick. One
thing that's sort of interesting, I think I mentioned this
to you before you know, Colin, but he's his relationship
(15:31):
with the Cons with Tony and Sead Cohn is strong
enough where, yeah, he was influential and their coaching search
in twenty seventeen and Doug Maron getting that job, so
he has the air of the owners there. It's a
place he could probably have control. There are a bunch
of you know, his ex lieutenants who are ex gms
that are sitting out there, and Scott Pioli, John Robinson,
(15:54):
Thomas de Metrov that could come in and be his
personnel guy. I just think it sets up logistically the
type of place that he would like to go.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Now.
Speaker 7 (16:02):
I think the relationships may be stronger in Philly and
New York and Dallas. But if you're talking about being
able to go in and have the keys to the
kingdom and have it be your show and get a
young quarterback to work with, then I think Jacksonville's sort
of the spot right. And you know, I think about
this when I think about Trevor Lawrence. I think about
Matthew Stafford and what people said about Matthew Stafford when
(16:24):
he was in Detroit and all the hits he took
and how tough he was and how he fought through everything.
And I'm just not sure that with Trevor Lawrence we
don't find some of the things we found out about
Matthew Stafford when he went to Los Angeles, you know,
So I think that this is an attractive situation for somebody,
(16:45):
and I think from a football perspective, would be very
attractive to Belichick.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
By the way, one more question about a minute. There's
going to be a hot coordinator on the market. So
Brian Flores is in a lawsuit with the NFL. Probably
won't be him. Who's going to be the last year
was Ben Johnson said? No Kidd down in Houston. Bobby
slowanc is he the guy?
Speaker 7 (17:05):
Bobby Sloan will be up there. You know, it's gonna
be an interesting one. If Seattle keeps winning, Ryan Grub
will be an interesting one.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Oh, that's interesting.
Speaker 7 (17:14):
He's yeah, because he came from the college game. If
Cliff keeps having success in Washington and Gino plays really well,
Ryan Grubb would be a name to watch because he
got a lot of NFL interest over the last couple
of years. People were fascinated with what Calen de Boor
was doing at Washington, and then digging around, they found
out that Ryan Grubb was a huge part of that
(17:36):
offensive scheme and of developing quarterbacks there. And we saw
what Ryan Grubb and Kaylen de Boor did with Michael
Pennix there.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
We see what Kalen de Boor is doing now with
Jalen Milroe.
Speaker 7 (17:47):
And Gino Smith's playing really well for Grub in Seattle.
So you know, there are some more obvious names, you know,
like I think a Jim Bob Cooter, Iffy Richardson plays
really well in Indianapolis. It be one Ben Johnson, I'll
be back, you know in that man. Joe Brady and
Buffalo I think would be a big one to.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
Keep an eye on.
Speaker 7 (18:04):
But Ryan Grubb might be an under the radar one
that you want to look at. You want me to
give you some Rashie Rice inpo too there for Jamie.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Yeah, why don't we do that for we got a
couple of seconds, Jax.
Speaker 7 (18:15):
I don't know if your conspiracy is quite on there, buddy.
So the swelling made the MRI inconclusive. So he's going
to Dallas, I believe next week to have a scope.
At that time they'll be able to determine the damage
to the ligaments. And it's not just damage to the ACL,
it's also damaged to the PCL. So there's not a
(18:37):
ton of hope that he's going to be back playing again.
There's a glimmer, but there's not a ton of hope
that he's going to be playing again in Kansas City
this year. My guests would be they take the next
couple of weeks to assess what they've got at the
receiver position now before making a move in the trademarket,
whether it's a Tennessee for a Hopkins or Burks, or
Carolina with a Deanta Johnson or an Adam Thielen Amari Cooper.
(18:57):
You guys mentioned him in Cleveland. But as for I
don't think there's a ton of hope that he's coming
back this year. So and and it's not a conspiracy,
it's just the swallowing in his knee made the MRI
in exclusive.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Okay, I'm more interested in that Bigfoot New York Post
story from Oklahoma video guy. That that's my conspiracy, that
that that's I missed that. Today I go to the
New York Post Bigfoot some Oklahoma guy. I don't buy
it at all.
Speaker 5 (19:22):
But I love Bigfoot stories.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. I mean it's
like that there were mascots for local times, right, yet
he's everywhere. I mean, graduated from my high school, all right.
Albert Breer as always Money Monday Morning Quarterback Content Strategy Guy.
All Right, uh interesting, listen, we like an occasional conspiracy.
(19:47):
They're fun. Edgar Allan Poe, Devonte Adams listen. Social media
can be used for interesting. A lot of devices that
can be used for persuasion. You know, I'm here for it.
His picks.
Speaker 2 (20:06):

Speaker 3 (20:18):
Is to win free cast prizes playing Fox Super six
sponsored by DraftKings. There's a special contest this week for
the Jets Vikings game in London, which you can see
on NFL Network Sunday at nine thirty am. Go to
the Fox Sports app to make your picks. One of
the questions is which QB will have more passing yards
Colin Aaron Rodgers or Sam Darnald.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Easiest bet of the year, Sam Donald. By the way,
Dante Adams has a new Instagram post. It may not
be a Ravens Lean. It may just be he likes
Edgar Allan Poe because apparently he just put this on
his ig believe nothing you hear in half of what
(21:02):
you see.
Speaker 4 (21:03):
I love that quote. Yeah that's good.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Yeah. Do you believe in Bigfoot? No? Okay, right, we
do it every week. One of my faves his NFL
picks former newspaper guy. He creates the headlines he believes
will be reading on Monday. So here we go tomorrow's
headlines Today, London we go Jets Vikings. What say you?
Speaker 2 (21:28):
All right?
Speaker 4 (21:29):
You know we've talked about this game all week.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
You are going to be waking up at the six
thirty am for this one. The headline will be, may
I have this cadence Jets airing out differences? Give me
the Jets here. I got a lot of stuff on
this game, so Colin. One thing that's been made a
lot of is how Brian Flores is body bagging all
these quarterbacks. Oh, he destroyed Rock Purty pretty is like
(21:52):
a third year starter. He destroyed CJ. Shroud, second year starter.
He confused Jordan Love with the blitz down twenty eight
Nothing and Love second your starter. Aaron Rodgers has seen
every blitz known to man. He will be ready for
this game. Nothing Flores throws at him is gonna surprise him.
And oh, by the way, the Jets, who foolishly didn't
do this last week. They did not adjust on the fly.
(22:13):
They've got the weapons Breece Hall against the Blitz.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
Just dump it to him. He can go around people
in space. He's Brief's lightning for a reason.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
I think this is a good matchup for the Jets
offensively and defensively.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
Colin, I know you want to laugh.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
That's fine, But Sauce Gardner on Justin Jefferson read on Addison.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
We like our chances.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
Bring the house on Darnald who, by the way, five
turnover worthy plays this season. According to Pro Football Focus,
that's just one less than your boy Will Levis.
Speaker 4 (22:37):
Donald has been a little dicey with the football.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
If you're scoring a home Aaron Rodgers has zero turnover
worthy plays this season. So I'll give me the Jets
winning outright in London. Side note, Vikings head to the bye.
How many wives convince.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
The Vikings place? Hey, you're already in London. Why don't
we just go travel Europe after that?
Speaker 3 (22:55):
Why don't we take the week off and check out
Grease or wherever we saw the Eagles heading into the
by gets smashed. Keep an eye on the Vikings letting
their guard down and the Jets stealing a dub.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Well, if you've ever questioned if j Mack has courage,
you'll see it here tomorrow's headlines. Today, Brown's at the
Commander's on fi.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Oh my gosh, Colin, there's no hotter quarterback in the
league than Jade Daniels.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Right, he's locked up Rookie of the Year. He's just
slicing and dicing. Maybe you look like an idiot.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
Last week with Arizona, the headline will be Jaden Daniels Whiskey,
Brown's handle rookies shots, Colin, this is a great spot
for the Jim Schwartz defense.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
And oh, by the way, the offense is getting healthier.
Both tackles are back at practice. They missed the game
against the Raiders.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
Their backup center who got hurt last week, he's back
at practice. Nick Chubb a shot in the arm. He
won't play, but he's, you know, kind of a Oh.
We got one of our stars back, and Nick Schubb's
a leader in that locker room. Things are looking well
for Cleveland now. On the Washington side, Colin, I look
at Jadon Daniels, You look at the last three teams
he's played.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
He destroyed the Giants. Their defense is terrible. He destroyed
the Bengals.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
Their defense is atrocious, and Arizonas is one of the
worst in the league. Cleveland's is very good. Similar to Tampa,
Cleveland loves to blitz. What did Jayden Daniels do when
he was blitzed against Tampa?
Speaker 4 (24:14):
He started running for his life.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Remember, Cleveland has two awesome linebackers, the kid Bush from
Michigan who played well last week he's back from injury,
and j Oka, the Notre Dame linebacker who's super fast.
I don't think Daniels is gonna have the running escapability.
I would look at his underprops for rushing, and I
think Cleveland pulls off a big win. Remember they went
to Jacksonville a couple weeks ago, and you were like,
what what are you doing? This is another spot I
(24:37):
like the Browns here to beat Washington.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Tomorrow's headlines today, I already know where you're leaning on
this one, the pesky Colts, the sinking Jazz.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
So I laughed out loud at this headline suggestion from
the producer Jaggs Colts.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
Here we go, the headline will.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
Be Christian Mingle, quarterback and wide receiver finally fight each other.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
I just can't stop.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Laughing at Christian Kirk obviously in line for a good game.
Jonathan Taylor has been ruled out for the Colts.
Speaker 4 (25:06):
The one thing that.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Scares me and you can laugh at this, is I
don't know who's starting, Joe flacco'or Anthony Richardson. Richardson sounds
like he's fifty to fifty. Joe Flacco scares me more.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
Yeah, honestly, he doesn't miss the layups.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
And he's also environment doesn't matter. He's seen everything.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
So I do like the Jags here. This is one
of these kitchen sink games. You can't go zero to five,
and they've dominated the Colts at home. Colts go from
indoor where they look like a track team, and you know,
put him outdoor. I got the Jags winning their ninth
straight game and covering the spread at home against the Colts.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
Tomorrow's headlines today Giants Seahawks, Giants now without Molik neighbors,
good luck? What say you?
Speaker 2 (25:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (25:43):
Yeah, this is a layup? You and I agree. I
do have a great sat. You're gonna love the headline, will.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
Babe, Geno nine to one one rescue twelve man from Bridge.
This feels like a layup for the Seahawks. I know
the line seven, and there's no layups in the NFL.
Dogs have been covering it a alarming rate. I just
don't see where Daniel Jones finds the weapons to keep
this close. However, so Colin, you know, sometimes I'll dump
some stuff that I don't put out there on social media,
(26:09):
on my podcast, or I'll say it here.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
I haven't heard anybody say this anywhere.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
We've been looking for the team that when they play
you the next week you get your doors blown off.
Usually it's the Niners. Sometimes it's been the Steelers. So
that team this year so far is the Detroit Lions.
The week after playing the Lions, teams have lost by
a combined one oh nine to thirty one. The physical
Lions dominate the line of scrimmage, push you around, wear
(26:36):
you down. Look at the Rams after week one, they
just got physically beat up. Week two they get destroyed.
The Lions just played the Seahawks on Monday night, so
there is a little concern that this is just a
tired team.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
A lot of travel. The best four defensive Linemen didn't play, and.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
They should have a couple guys back.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
But that's something in my If Seattle does not show
up and win handily here, we could have.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
Something with this.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
You don't want to face the Lions now they're on
a bye week, so you can use it next week,
but just something to file away going forward.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
No, that's that the Niners have done that last couple
of years. Physical teams, I mean even Kirk Cousins. You know,
you go to overtime in a game, it's just another
eight nine plays in the NFL. Teams that go to
overtime next week don't necessarily play well. Tomorrow's headlines today. Finally,
Cowboys Steelers, you gotta be taking Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
Well, I mean Mike tomlinoff loss at home night game
gonna be juiced up in Pittsburgh. The headline will be Nasey,
see me, Nasey, don't. Field's magic act.
Speaker 4 (27:34):
Is no illusion. Look at this who our artist needs
a shout out? That's phenomenal. But yeah, I'm with you.
Brears said some good stuff about Fields.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
What he was saying about how Arthur Smith thinks he
could do more than Tannehill. Tennehill had by the way
Tennessee is the number one seed. I know he had
Derek Henry in the backfield, but Justin Fields is showing
out and I think he definitely locks up the starting
job if he beats the Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Honestly, we both like the Steelers overall personnel. They've got dudes,
they just don't offensively. They just are never in sync.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
There are some offensive line issues health wise, specifically the
right side. However, I don't know that Dallas has the
personnel without Micah and Lawrence to make this an issue.
I'm more curious is is things line up here? Pittsburgh
could blow these guys out. You know that defense TJ.
Watt against Geydon, Well have you seen the rookies numbers
He's allowed? I think is like second highest penalties allowed
(28:23):
in the league allowed four sacks.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
You put TJ.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Watt opposite this turnstile, and I know Goton's gonna be
good down the road, but right now he's not. Pittsburgh
could win this twenty seven to ten and we open Monday.
Holy Calvin McCarthy, this is going south fast. So I
like Pittsburgh here potentially big.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
Yeah, I agree with you. The only one I put
So my final game I didn't pick was Cincinnati plus
the points against the Ravens. So that's the one I
wanted to If it would have been three to three
and a half, I would have Cincinnati was getting two
and a half. In the NFL, you know, I bet numbers,
not teams, So that was the one I strongly considered.
(29:00):
Baltimore played a perfect game divisional rival. I'm with you
season on the line. Was there one game for you
that was a Carolina getting four? By the way, wise
guys love Carolina getting four against the Bears. That's when
we say wise guys. The people who bet for a living,
the sharps, they really like Carolina. But you know what,
(29:22):
Caleb's gotten better every week. Here's what I worry about Carolina.
O line run blocking is amazing. So Carolina gets you
out of sync because they just dominate time of possession,
potentially with Andy Dalton short passes. So is Caleb gonna
be kind of watching Carolina churnout yard suba.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
Hubbard had like one hundred and twenty on the round
against the Vegas. The Panther's linebackers, two of the starters
are now out. The defensive lines of Rippen a mess.
But last time Caleb was favored this much was in
the opener Colin. They were getting housed by Tennessee all week,
all day on that Sunday before a late comeback. So
I just we can't have the audience putting their after
tax dollars on the Carolina Panthers on the road.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
So again, people try to talk me into the Rams
over the Packers, but I the Rams are really bad
in the red zone. It ain't McVeigh and Stafford. They
don't have any targets. They're on their third and fourth guys,
so they drive the field. They can't score touchdowns. I'm
gonna take Green Bay sixty five thirty five fan advantage
(30:26):
at sofar big games tomorrow Baseball, college football on Fox
and FS one. We will see you be safe. Have
a great weekend. Live in La. It's the Herd.
