Speaker 2 (00:19):
This is the Best of the Herd with Colin cowher
on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
It is a Friday. It is an Amazing Friday World
Series Friday. Jimmy Johnson, Urban Meyer stop by Friday Blazing
five and one hour Friday Live in Los Angeles. It's
the Herd wherever you may be, howe, however, wherever you

(00:47):
may be watching. Okay, j mac so you were right,
you said keep your eye on Stafford. I had no
idea Pokin Nikool was gonna play. He wasn't. Yesterday morning.
He made a little bit of an impact that he
not wat Rams look like a playoff team. Well they
did it last year. They got hot at the end
of the year, with the hottest team in the NFC

(01:08):
at the end of last year. So I mean you
start looking at the box score. If you didn't watch
the game, many of you did, But if you didn't
watch the game, you would look at the box score
and you'd go, man, the Rams were way better. But
I don't think the Rams are better. I just think
Matt Stafford is that good. So when we heard the
trade rumors this week Matt Stafford, I said, time out,

(01:31):
take out Mahomes. Who would you want with a ball
with a minute and a half left and one time
out to score a touchdown? Matt Stafford arguably is number two.
So you think Sean McVay is unhappy with that quarterback
after that performance. He still doesn't have his best interior
offensive lineman, he still doesn't have his top tight end.
He just got his receivers finally back, but it's still

(01:53):
a makeshift offensive line. They're using a rookie at center,
a six to seventh round rookie. So on any given Sunday, Monday,
or last night Thursday, take out Mahomes. Your best quarterback
in the league is Matt Stafford. There's no real play
to trade Matt Stafford unless you're bottoming out, And why
would you. The Rams won seven of eight games last year,

(02:15):
went to the playoffs, and were a play away from
beating Detroit. I told you the beginning of last year.
This is not a rebuilding roster. You saw that defense
last night. So the last two drafts, they've poured their
draft picks at the top to defense. They're young. It
reminds me of Kansas City's defense about a year and
a half to two years ago. They were really really young.

(02:36):
It was Chris Jones and a bunch of kids, and
by the end of the year you're like, it's like
a top three defense. And then last year and this
year you're like, is that the best defense in Kansas City.
That's what this Rams defense is. It's all rookies, second
year guys, and they're really good. And I think the
Rams can win their division. First of all, I don't

(02:57):
trust Seattle in Arizona, and they've already beaten San Francisco.
So don't confuse an injured team the Rams with a
bad team. The Raiders, the Browns, the Panthers two different things.
And if you go look whenever Pooka, Nakua, Cooper Cup,

(03:17):
Kyron Williams, and Matt Stafford play, they're seven and three together. Well, Colin,
that's not good enough to win the Super Bowl. They're
losses at Baltimore in overtime at Detroit in overtime. The
Rams are a really good team that had massive cluster
injuries on their offensive line, which if you had you know,

(03:38):
Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson and one of these athletes
that can kind of make good as you're readdressing the
offensive life, that's not Matt Stafford. Matt Stafford's ninety eight
percent in the pocket, and that's okay because outside of Mahomes,
he's as good as any pocket quarterback in the league.
And there are times he's better than Mahomes in the pocket,
and you saw it last night. So I mean, he's
just an extraordinary arment. And he finally got Pooka Nakua

(04:02):
and Cooper Cup back, and you can see Pooka's become
the number one, not Cooper. So I did buy into
the Cooper Cup rumors because Pooka's the guy now. But
here's the thing. Sam Donald played well. Sam Donald played
very well. Sam Donald as justin Jefferson. Sam Donald's got
a great coach. But you noticed the gap you did
between Stafford and Sam Donald. Sam Donald played very well,

(04:28):
very well, but you could see the gap between Stafford
and a guy. I love Sam Donald, So the idea
they're gonna trade Sam Donald, are you bought himing out?
There's nobody in this college draft that can even sniff
Matt Stafford. In fact, this college draft and the next
college draft are considered okay quarterback drafts. We just had

(04:50):
a great one and the Rams didn't seem that interested
in getting quarterbacks in the last one. Here is Sean
McVay on his football team, which may not have a
winning record, but in that division, that momentum and now
a healthy team is potentially really really good.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
I thought it was great, just a boost for our
team to be able to get two experienced guys that
were ready to go. They were chomping at the bit.
But I thought Matthew had a look in his eye
where he was going to be ready to go and
it's like, hey, you're coming with me because we're going
to go do this thing the right way.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
It's one game.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
I'm really pleased with the resolve and the response of
this team coming off of the buy and now we
got to keep this momentum going.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
That's what you envisioned, you know when training camp started,
and it's nice to have those guys back. It was
great for our entire team, you know, great for our offense, obviously,
I was so happy and proud for those guys that
you back out on the grass with us, but also
really you know, big for our defense, our especially everybody
feels that when those guys are back in.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
All right, So let's talk about Sam Donald. I mean,
his passer rating was one eight eight actually slightly slightly
ahead of Matt Stafford, which is why you got to
watch the games. But we've seen the last two weeks.
Sam Donald was good against Jared Goff. Golf was better.
Sam Donald was good against Matt Stafford. Matt Stafford was better,

(06:06):
and the Vikings went owing two. So Sam Donold's gonna
have a trademark. He's strong, coachable, athletic, playing well, good arm,
and he's gotten some of the reckless out of his game.
He's matured. But Kevin O'Connell's an offensive head coach, and
offensive coaches in this league move off good Andy Reid,

(06:26):
move off Pro bowler Alex Smith McVeigh, moved off super
Bowl quarterback Jared Goff. Kyle Shanahan's moved off guys that
got him to a Super Bowl. Now, defensive coaches, it's different.
Pete Carroll, Hey, Gino Smith is good enough. Remember when
Ron Rivera was like, hey, Sam Howe can win his games.
And I went on the air and I'm like, defensive coach,

(06:48):
come on, wake up, Dennis Allen, Derek Carr. Now, offensive coaches,
and we've been on this for years, have much more
urgency at quarterback. It's their side of the ball. They
understand how much they can affect it. Defensive coaches, they
love a run game, conservative play, not to lose. So

(07:09):
Ken O'Connell he already moved off Kirk Cousins, and Kirk
Cousins is going to get Hall of Fame votes. You
see Kirk Cousins in Atlanta and Kevin O'Connell. He drafted
JJ McCarthy, who looked very good in the preseason. So
Sam Darnold's good, and he's played good in the last
two weekends. But as good as he is as a
first rounder, he didn't look as good as Golf in

(07:29):
the pocket or Stafford in the pocket. And he's not
as athletic as like a Josh Allen or a Lamar
Jackson or a Kyler Murray. So you'd be like, well,
he's not great in the pocket, but he makes night.
You got to be good in the pocket. And his
division now has got Caleb Williams and Jared Goff and
Jordan Love and Sam Donald and Sam Darnold, and I
love him. Is the fourth most talented guy of those guys.

(07:51):
That's how good the quarterbacking is in the NFC North.
And so I mean again, Sam Darnold was good. So
was Goff in La Alex Smith in Kansas City, so
is Kirk Cousins in Minnesota. They were very good, good
to very good, with occasional great games. Offensive coaches, that's
not good enough. I mean Darnolds had one hundred plus

(08:11):
passer ready in six of his last seven games. But
he's not as good as Stafford. I not as good
as Jared Goff or Lamar or Mahomes or Josh Allen
or Justin Herbert. So you can't settle if you want
to hoist trophies. Andy Reid wouldn't, McVeigh wouldn't. They won't settle,
and Kevin O'Connell won't. They're all in two in the
last couple of weeks, and you are now seeing as

(08:33):
good as Brian Floor, as is Jared Goff, as good
as Brian Floor as defensive coordinator is Matt Stafford did
what he wanted to do. Nobody can play. Defensive players
get hurt more often than offensive players, so as a
season goes, the defense gets more banged up, you're winning
these games. Have you noticed the last two weeks in

(08:54):
the NFL the best quarterbacks winning all the games. Two
weeks ago the best quarterback went fourteen and zero in games.
Those defenses, they start the season in September, they're healthy,
they're coming. The offense is still trying to get down
the choreography, and then defensive guys get dinged up and
hurt and are a little slower and the hammy and

(09:16):
it becomes a quarterback coaches league. And Kevin O'Connell's great,
and Sam Darnold is good, but you've seen the last
two weeks. Good is not good enough. And here's the
coach after.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
I think we were close on some plays in the
passing game, but when you're playing against that quarterback and
those receivers getting healthy and getting out there and making
some plays for him, I just think it comes down
to can we get enough rushing coverage working together to
maybe not give a quarterback like that a couple extra clicks.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
So the opposing coach said, when you got a quarterback
like that, he didn't have to say, it was great.
When you're facing a quarterback like that, everybody wants a
that Maholmes. Is that Stafford's that people think Aaron Rodgers
is now he's not Josh Allen's of that, Kevin O'Connell.

(10:13):
And you're playing a guy like that, Darnold's good. Stafford's different,
all right. San Francisco forty nine Ers, Dallas Cowboys, Yankees,
Dodgers tonight. You know, I slept on that World series.
If you're a Dodger fan, there's news out that's not good.
I kinda kinda kinda this morning like the Yankees. Yeah,

(10:37):
there's there's news out right now that I mean, again,
Bets Freeman o'tawny, I mean, the Dodgers batting order is
better than the Yankees batting order, but there's some news
around the corner that's it's not great for the Dodgers.
If you're totally being honest, well, listen, it's political season,
so you flip flopping Dodgers Yankees in the Stan it's
twenty four hours based on some news it's right on bread,

(11:00):
big guy. You wait, I will say it is. The
Dodgers are admitting they're concerned about something. We'll talk about that.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
and Noone Easter non a im Pacific couple of dogs.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
I like, So here we go, are blazing five.

Speaker 6 (11:17):
Let's blaze it up, Fired up. It's Collins Blazon five.
Eagles at Bengals.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
I'm taking the Bengals at home minus three. Joe Burrow
eats alive the NFC. Like Lamar Jackson. He's ten and
one with twenty four touchdowns and five picks. Their last
three losses Chiefs Ravens and Commander Cincinnati's playing well. They're
losing close games to good teams. Joe Burrow's absolutely on fire.

(11:43):
Leads the NFL with five games with multiple touchdown passes
and one hundred plus passer rating. Jalen Hurts is not hot.
They're overvalued. Philly is overvalued. Their back to back wins
came against the Browns, maybe the worst team in the league,
and the Giants. They had many yards passing. Jalen Hurts
is struggling. Their offense is easily the worst first quarter

(12:05):
offense in the league. So Cincinnati's probably taken a lead
and playing with the lead, and their defense doesn't take
the ball away and NFL low two takeaways this year.
I'm taking comfortable Joe Burrow with a lead at home,
lay the points. Thirty twenty three Bengals.

Speaker 6 (12:25):
Packers at Jaguars.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
I mean Jordan Loves tied for the NFL leading touchdown passes.
He missed two starts. They are young and getting better
by the Sunday. Green Bay is second in the league
in explosive plays. Jacksonville doesn't offer those. Jordan Love miss
two games fifteen touchdown passes. His protections much better than
Trevor Lawrence will get and Doug Peterson and the Jags.

(12:49):
He's on the hot seat three to ten over their
last thirteen games. Their pass defense awfal third down defense
not great, only three takeaways. Again, Jordon Love is going
to be really comfortable. It's only four point the Jaguars
defense this season it is bad and bad defenses against

(13:10):
the speed, the efficiency and the coaching of Green Bay.
I'm taking the Packers to cover thirty three to twenty six.

Speaker 6 (13:20):
Colt sit Texans.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
I like rivalry game in Division Colts plus five Without
Nico Collins, Texans offense is not the same. First of all,
believe it or not, the Colts of the highest scoring
offense in the league in the fourth quarter, why run
game and excellent coaching. Jonathan Taylor ankle issue, he's been cleared.
Colts have won for their last five games. They just

(13:43):
started off slowly. CJ. Stroud. I like him, but the
protection is Jamack pointed out this week. Without Nico Collins,
He's the third most sat quarterback in the league this
year and the second most pressure and Nico Collins is
really the key for this young quarterback to succeed. I
think it's a twenty seven to twenty six game. I
think the Colts may lose, but I'm gonna take them

(14:05):
to cover. It's twenty seven twenty six, take the points.

Speaker 6 (14:10):
Cardinals at Dolphins.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
I'm gonna take Miami minus four. Listen, they're very good
at home with Mike McDaniel, and this game means not
only a lot to win, but to look good and
get that locker room back on your side. It's a
different offense with Tua. When they have Tua, they're twenty
and twelve without him. Their two and six and can't score.
Kyler Murray struggled last week in a win. The worst

(14:33):
third down defense in the league is Arizona Miami at home.
Arizona on a short week. I think Miami translates third
down to first downs. Also, Arizona's given up six yards
of play Justin Herbert with no perimeter weapons of note
through for three hundred and fifty yards Tua at home.
This is a flex spot, this locker room. You start

(14:56):
fraying when you lose, and you lose again, and you
lose again. Miami, if they have a chance, will pour
it on. Dolphins wins score a lot thirty to twenty four.

Speaker 6 (15:07):
Bears A Commander.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
I flipped on this one this morning. I'm gonna take
the Commanders plus three. I like Chicago. Are they good
enough to go on the road and win a game
right now? Really? I like him, I don't love him.
I watch Minnesota as a good team. They couldn't win
on the road. The Commanders have not lost a home game,
and Marcus Mariota last week in relief seventy eight percent
completion percentage. This old line, this run game, this offensive staff.

(15:31):
Their defense was awful last year. It's not as bad
this year. It's fifteenth and the Bears three game winning
streaks has come against the Rams without Cooper Cup and Nakua,
the Panthers, and the Jags. Caleb Williams is one of
the most sacked quarterbacks in the league this year. His
ability to move is fooling people. He's under duress. If

(15:51):
they had a less mobile quarterback, they'd be in trouble.
And they've got all sorts of injuries do the Bears
on the back end of their defense, corners and safeties
may not play. I'm gonna take the Commanders to win
in what will be a very very good football game
twenty eight to twenty four. Yeah, I think the Bears

(16:11):
old line is not as good as we think, but
Caleb is making you think it's a little better than
it is. So I'm taking the better quarterback in a
lot of these games. Colts Texans is a division rivalry game.
I'm just gonna take the underdog in a division rivalry game. Well,
Jimmy Johnson's two times Super Bowl champ, college Football champ
and also Fox Sports analysts, so you know, listen, you

(16:34):
know better than anybody that Jerry likes to talk and
He's gotten really noisy over the last two weeks. My
favorite part is when Aikman was critical. The next day,
Jerry came out and said, boy, that's a credible guy there.
We better listen to that guy. So when the noise
is engulfing you and you didn't deal with it, maybe

(16:56):
the first year with Jerry he was doing business, but
every year you here more. How do you keep the
locker room Jimmy quiet? How do you get out of
that stuff?

Speaker 7 (17:07):
Well? I think it really comes with the territory.

Speaker 8 (17:10):
Yeah, if you're going to coach the Dallas Cowboys, you're
going to have to expect, you know, some distractions you're
going to have to expect on a weekly basis, answering
questions about what your owner said. Uh So it really,
like I said, I think McCarthy he knew what he

(17:32):
was getting into when he took the job.

Speaker 7 (17:34):
I think any coach.

Speaker 8 (17:36):
That goes to the Dallas Cowboys, that's what they deal with,
and it's it's really not even up for discussion, and
that's what's going to happen.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
You know, there was a story this week about the
facility and the tours, and you know, players wouldn't say
it that were with the Cowboys, but ex Cowboys were like,
it's a bit of a zoo. I'm just trying to
get a workout in. Listen, it's Jerry the marketer. I
don't think any coach I think, I don't think any
coach wants that. Again, it's not ideal. Would that drive

(18:09):
you nuts?

Speaker 7 (18:11):
Well, I'll give you a quick story.

Speaker 8 (18:15):
Jerry's was close friends with Prince Vandar Saudi Arabia, and
so I had a rule you know that you know
with the players. You know, once I shut the door
after the game, I'm talking to the team and nobody
could get in. I got into it with Charles Haley
when he was a little bit late. I wouldn't let

(18:35):
him in the room. Well, I start talking to the
team after the Chicago game at the end of the season,
and we had just become the number one defense in
the league, and Dave want Said and all that crew.
They were so proud and they were ready for me
to congratulate the defense for being the number one defense
in the league. And I was just about ready to

(18:57):
talk and there's a banging on the door from the
locker room and here comes Jerry with Prince Vandar and
the whole entourage of people, Oh boy, you know, wanting
to hear my postgame talk. And so I looked at them,
and I looked at the team, and I looked at
our defensive coaches.

Speaker 7 (19:16):
I said, nice game, I'll see you Tuesday said he
didn't even congratulate us for me number one defense. But
that's what you deal with if you're at the Dallas Cowboys, so.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
You know you live down close to Miami and the
Tuas situation. Here's what's a little baffling. If you're gonna
re sign Tua, okay, but you better have a good
backup and you better have an offensive line. I've been
critical of Miami, not necessarily just for the signing, but
the places then you have to be good with Tua

(19:54):
are O line and backup. And I is it fair
to say they have not done enough due diligence regarding
to his health, which we all Jimmy, we got to
be honest about it. He's been hurt his whole career.
We just have to be honest about this stuff. I
think that's where you can criticize Miami. Is that fair?

Speaker 7 (20:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (20:15):
You know he was injured even at Alabama and so
you had to take that into account. But I think
you can say about the same thing for every team
about having a backup quarterback. In today's football, Very rarely
do you have a quarterback that's going to stay healthy
the entire year. There have been a few exceptions, but

(20:38):
for the most part, that backup quarterback is.

Speaker 7 (20:40):
Going to play.

Speaker 8 (20:41):
And if you've got a championship football team, you need
a quality backup at least somebody that's going to be
able to execute and not get you beat, not turn
the ball over. And so the backup has been a
real concern. You know, for the Dolphins, I think it
is upgrading the offensive line. You know, they've had some

(21:03):
problems their injury wise, and then you know, it's where
you allocate your money. They have put their money on
their wide receivers and on their quarterback and a few
of the running backs, the defensive backs, and so you know,
maybe some of that money could have gone for the
offensive line.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Yeah, you know, I was saying this. Andy Reid had
a Pro bowler in Alex Smith, and he moved off him.
And Sean McVay had Jared Goff who's pretty damn good,
and he moved off him Pete Carroll a defensive coach,
is Gino Smith is good enough? And I've been critical
of defensive coaches. I've said, I've seen these offensive guys

(21:43):
move off good quarterbacks, and I think Sam Darnold's good.
But I watched Stafford last night, and I watched Jared
Goff against Donald last week, and he's not golf and
he's not Stafford. And I look at Minnesota going forward, Jimmy,
and Sam's a good player, he's coachable, he's tough. But
I watched that game last night, and I'm thinking, if

(22:04):
you want to hoist a trophy, I just I think
Kevin O'Connell may make a decision. What do you think?
What would you do with Sam Donald? Where do you go?
Because he's he's good, we're not We're not denying that right.
What would you do?

Speaker 7 (22:18):
I would try to resign him. I try, you know.

Speaker 8 (22:21):
I like Sam Donald. I like him, you know, I
think he is a winning quarterback. Is he a great quarterback?

Speaker 5 (22:29):
No?

Speaker 8 (22:29):
He's not Patrick Mahomes, you know, but nobody else is either.
I think you could win with Sam Donald. So how
much money are you going to have to pay him?
That's going to be a concern.

Speaker 7 (22:40):
You got J J.

Speaker 8 (22:41):
McCarthy, but who knows how good he's going to be.
He's a rookie and we haven't really seen him prove
himself on the NFL turf. So I would try to,
you know, i'd try to resign Sam Donald and hopefully
I could have Donald and McCarthy both on our football team.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
So Jaden Daniels has been great, Tayleb Williams getting better,
bow knicks, is winning games. I mean, Jordan Love his
second year starting looks amazing, Jimmy. Is the quarterback play
getting better or have the rules changed to help them?
Because I'm seeing these young guy, I mean, Jayden Daniels
looks like he's been in the league nine years, and

(23:19):
I'm thinking, is he great? He's obviously good. When you
watch these quarterbacks, some of them are so good so fast.
Is it just there better or is the league giving
them a helping hand.

Speaker 8 (23:32):
I think the league's given them a helping hand for
the simple you know, the rules are such that you
know it's hard to even touch them, you know, without
getting a penalty. The other thing is the rules are
set for the passing game, and I think they're getting
better coaching. Now, there's some outstanding offensive coaches in the

(23:52):
league right now. And the other thing is these offensive coaches,
I think they're adapting the offense to the talent of
the individual.

Speaker 7 (24:03):
Uh. You know. You look at uh with Washington, with
Jaymeon Daniels say, you.

Speaker 8 (24:09):
Know a lot of their offense is on play action,
him running the football and taking advantage of his speed
and and his running ability.

Speaker 7 (24:18):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (24:18):
And so I think some of these offensive coaches have
gone away from the pure drop back passer and they've adapted,
you know, their offense to more of a college game.
And I think that's what's allowing some of these you know,
players to be successful.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
I want to circle back to the Cowboys and the Niners. Listen,
San Francisco is an older team used check Trent uh
uh Green loss off an injury, uh, George Kittle and
even the guys that aren't old McCaffrey and deebo are
such physical players. Jimmy, they get banged up. That Kyle

(24:56):
Kyle's system is a physical system. And I I said,
if San Francisco loses, they're three and five. No team's
ever made the football at the Super Bowl, and almost
none have made the conference championship at three and five,
almost none zero chance for the Super Bowl since nineteen
ninety when the playoff format was expanded. If they lose

(25:18):
in Dallas, wins in there three and five, when you're
when you're having lunch with John Lynch and you're Kyle
Shanahan on Tuesday, do you have to have some thoughts
about moving players at the deadline, getting younger. I mean,
you're good, but Jimmy windows close, as you know, so

(25:39):
fast in this league. If San Francisco loses, what would
you what are the conversations you'd be having.

Speaker 8 (25:47):
Well, you know it's going to be hard for the
you know, coaching staff to say, hey, you know, let's
kind of look toward the future because we're three and five.
But the thing that I've seen, yeah, not only in
professional football, but in collegiate football. You know, if you've
got a veteran team that's really been successful and you

(26:10):
get off to a horrendous start, a lot of these
old veterans, you know, they don't have that burning desire
you know that a young team might have, and so
sometimes it's difficult for them to overcome, you know, that
bad start. And I think with San Francisco's injuries right now,

(26:31):
a lot of guys are not healthy. They're not going
to be one hundred percent healthy, and for the next
few weeks, it's going to be difficult for them to
turn it back around if they are three and five.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
Did you I see the Chiefs got d Hop. I
see the Bill's got Amari Cooper, Devonte Adams, Jets, Jimmy,
Did you like getting at times expensive? Sometimes they're noisy players,
but whatever, they're all good. Were you a fan of
trade deadline moves?

Speaker 7 (27:04):
Yeah? I was.

Speaker 8 (27:06):
I was always interested in in trying to pick up
a little spark on our football team, you know, both
in the off season and during the season. I think
it it not only helps your football team, I think
it motivates, uh, the other individuals around them.

Speaker 7 (27:27):
I always like to bring in a coach, a new
coach in the off season. Uh.

Speaker 8 (27:32):
I always like, you know, bringing in players during the
season because hey, you know the hop you know, not
only is he gonna.

Speaker 7 (27:40):
Help that football team, He's gonna motivate some of the
younger guys that are playing with him. Uh.

Speaker 8 (27:47):
And so the other thing, I think it even gives
you a little bit of a spark you know, for
your really outstanding veteran players.

Speaker 7 (27:54):
I think it gives a spark to Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 8 (27:57):
They've been winning with their defense, but we know how
great Mahomes is. Well, having just a little bit of
a boost for him, I think it helps their football team.
And you know, I think as long as that defense
keeps playing the way they're playing, and once the offense
starts clicking, you know, they're gonna be very difficult to beat.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Finally, you were always a big fan of Stafford, even
when he was in Detroit. I watched him last night
and Jimmy, you know it's funny, Well you locked him.
Go ahead.

Speaker 8 (28:30):
I can tell you from first hand experience from Fox
NFL Sunday a couple.

Speaker 7 (28:35):
Of weeks ago.

Speaker 8 (28:37):
He throws a nice pass because he threw one to
me and I had to jump about. I thought it
was probably two or three feet, but it was more
like two or three inches and I caught his pass
on our Fox NFL Sunday show. Now, but I love Stafford,
you know, of course, you know my buddy Terry, you know,

(28:57):
Bradshaw has been raving about Stafford, you know, here for years.
He said he's got the best throwing motion. He's the
best quarterback in the entire league. He loves him. He
is really a talented individual.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Yeah, by the way, were you surprised Troy Aikman came
out and called the receivers lazy? I mean you know
he's there's no bs with him. Well, were you surprised
he did it?

Speaker 8 (29:19):
That's that's Troy. Troy's going to tell you exactly what
he thinks. Uh, and he's not going to back off
and make any difference. If you're Jerry Jones or you're
Jimmy Johnson, you're Mike McCarthy, and Jerry's not going to
go against Troy because the money loves Troy. So no,
it was that didn't surprise me at all. That's Troy.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Yeah, great seeing the coach as Oh was Fox Sports Sunday?
All right, take care doctor, you bet? Yeah. Bradshaw has
been on Stafford for years and he just is one
of those guys. And Bradshaw would know Stafford's one of
those guys that he'll be Stafford will be sixty eight
years old and you will give him a football and

(30:00):
he'll be able to sling it like some guys. Stafford
was the number one high school quarterback in the country.
He was the number one college quarterback in the country.
And you know, he, like a lot of young talented people,
he went to a bad business and he you know,
he did what he could do. He put up big
numbers and uh, but you know, you can't as good
as Mahomes is. You know, when he didn't have both

(30:22):
tackles and went to a Super Bowl, he got routed.
You need you need help. And it's funny you watch
Stafford without poof Pooka Nakua and Cooper Cup and you're like, yeah,
he's talented. But and then you watch him with Pooka
Nakua and Cooper Cup and you're like, is he the
third best quarterback in the league? I mean that Minnesota defense,
that's one of the best coordinators in the sport. They

(30:44):
got some dudes, and it's just you get to the
second half off script, Stafford is just doing whatever he
wants to do.
