tonight's Game five? What did you make now?
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Now?
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Jmax says you can't touch an athlete, so they did
grab MOOKI bets Mookie today said I don't care, I'm
over it. What would you do with them?
Speaker 3 (00:58):
What?
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Listen?
Speaker 2 (00:59):
This right here, these guys are national heroes. What y'all
talking about?
Speaker 4 (01:04):
Y'all? Y'all got another game in New York.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Right now, they're sitting in some bar even they don't Okay,
they can't go to the game, but they gonna be
the star at the bar.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Are you joking?
Speaker 1 (01:16):
They gonna be the star?
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Hey, aren't you? Those guys? You're the reason we got
another game. Way you go, guys, Way to go everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
But but okay, now you're walking out to Tonnel fans
doing stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
That's that's different. That's different. But that's part of the game.
That's part of the game.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
That I thought that was a home run and and
you always told me that both for I was going
for it.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
So he thought he had him a ball that yeah,
you final, I understand that. That's that's good. But that's good.
I just take that right there. I just take that
bother you.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Oh god, no, No, that's like that's like yelling loud
at the free throw.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
That's all. That's what I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
But he was, he was, He was in my area.
I didn't go on the field to touch him. He
brought that glove over here.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Ye came into my area.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
Yeah, he was.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
I stayed here. Them kids, them kids, they didn't leave
the area.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
Y'all. Y'all gotta be.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Rid of those guys. They're saying, hey, right here, he
came into us. We didn't go to him.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Let me help everybody with this. Let me help everybody
with this. See look at it the other way.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Them poor fellows.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Had they go and brouh and know and didn't touch anything,
they would have been the laughing stop for the rest
of their lives. They would have said, oh my god,
you had a chance. You could have affected the game.
You could have grabbed that bully him.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Among their peer group, they would have been laughing, Oh.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
My god, you guys know him right about this.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
They would have been they been have killed those They'd
have killed those kids with a tea. They're not just killed.
They'd have killed you know, they would have They'd have
made fun about in social media in.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
New York, the King of rude. We do what we
want to do.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
We knew y Yeah, okaylie, kids, they got some some
d ms from girls they never thought they they were like, dude, yes,
who d M me? Yeah, that is the grail model.
She says she saw me and the influencer. I guarantee
(03:24):
you they got some well, I mean, I mean you
got some d ms.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Obviously, obviously.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
I won't no trouble. Okay.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
So the big big story last week, big story last week, Michael,
is that former Cowboys are like, yeah, the facility tours
are obnoxious, they're weird, they're they're cringey, and fans are
waving at us. What did you make of that?
Speaker 4 (03:55):
We can't y'all, we can't do this. I'm stunned. That's
called stun Let's go stunt your stunt.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
That players are upset, I'm stunning that I'm sitting here
on national TV. I think using my most precious resource
called time, spending my most precious resource called brain equity,
speaking about this being a distraction to players that make.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
Sixty million dollars a year.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Now, you understand, back in the day, those practice facilities
used to be way out, way out right, but they
were not. They weren't this nice, right right, and they
were never this nice. They were lost leaders. They were
just lost money. So so they moved them from one property,
from a sea property to maybe B property, and they'reup
building developments around it and people are having offices and
(04:49):
watching practice.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
Now, now, do.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
You want to live in my year when we were
making six, seven, eight, ten, million dollars a year.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
You go back to.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Those open when nobody who's watching but your ass is
in this year and you're making sixty million dollars a year.
The way they got it to sixty is by moving
in and letting those people watch. If you don't want
to put people to watch, go back to making five
and six and eight million dollars a year. Otherwise, shut
the hell up and play football. While if somebody walking
(05:22):
around watching you play eat lunch is.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
A distraction, that's not a distraction.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Man.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Let's stop coming up with stuff and making excuses for
not showing up on the football field.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Are you joking somebody watched me eat lunch?
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Come on, man, I cannot be the rational one. And
I've seen this story making on every network everywhere. I
don't know how this is a story. I cannot be
the rational one. It just doesn't sound humanly right.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Okay, all right, now another question. I heard your heart
on this, Anthony Richardson. Now. Now people say, well, Josh
Allen struggled in his first ten games. But here's where
I defended Josh Allen. He went to a team with
a defensive coach, no receivers, no run game, and he
got good his first six games to his last six.
(06:14):
His rookie year, he made a big leap. Anthony's got
an offensive coach, a great back, a great line, two receivers.
He's getting worse, like noticeably with Shane Steichen. I think
they had to make them. I don't think they wanted
to do this. I think they look at their roster
and think we're the best. We have the best roster
in this division. We got we got an impulsive owner
(06:35):
in Jim Mersey. We gotta win games.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
You don't like it, right, Well, the move you don't
like it, Ncin, Yeah, Anthony Richardson, No, it was the
right move.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
You're okay with it.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
It was the right move.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
I'm not okay with it because I hate seeing the
young man go through these kinds of struggle. And we
talk about this all the time because it's two things
that play here. It's what's happening on the football field,
but it's also what's happening inside a young man, you know,
And and there are two things here. There's a professional
him and a personal him. And we knew when you
(07:08):
drafted him fourth.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Overall he was wrong that he was wrong.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
He was wrong.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
So and putting him in a position where Okay, he
has that ability and draft a fourth.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
Overall and he's wrong in his profession.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Let's make you know an assessment that he's probably going
to be wrong in his person and we got to
make sure we undergird him correctly and not have these
kinds of situations.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
You're the CEO of the company. You can't. You've in
the history of football, we never had a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
I've never seen a quarterback typess helmet and come out
of the game.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
He was tired. What did you make of that?
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Well, he's a running quarterback, and I understand that. And yeah,
if you're running and he's run a few plays, and
people got to understand during the season, you you really,
if you're not there very careful and diligent lead and
you do a digital di diligently, you will get out
of shape during the season as the season goes on
(08:09):
because you do less running as they're trying to protect.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
You, as you're also constantly rehabbing, trying to.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
Get rehabit and everything. Yeah, or rehabit.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
So you you really, you you gotta take it upon
yourself to run more, Troy. I'm telling y'all would run
all the time. I would see them running at lunch,
you know, because their job. Most of time, they're dropping
back three steps, five steps, seven steps, three steps step.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
There's not a whole lot of running in that.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
So you gotta add it, especially if you're making a
living with your legs. And you gotta understand that it
has never happened in the history of the game. Now,
I can't put you back in the game because other
guys will be in the locker room. I'm not worrying.
I worry about the kid, and then and then I
worry about that locker room. And if you everybody in
(08:55):
the locker room is saying, man, what are we doing here?
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Man?
Speaker 4 (08:58):
We got a quarterback. Man the guys tapping out.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Clearly he's not ready for this. That's why they have
to sit him down.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
They lose in the locker room.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
They'll lose the locker room. They will lose the locker room.
This is bigger than Jim mersay you. You'll definitely see
Jim Mer say. If you don't make sure you keep
this locker room there, there's no there's no in it.
There's no way to did to deny. You will be
right in front of Jim Mercy. If you lose this
locker room and that move he would have to make
or he would have lost that locker room.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Yeah, okay, so uh the biggest play of the weekend,
Washington out played Chicago. Actually they deserve to win. I
was happy to Hail Mary happened because Chicago had no
business winning. We saw the kids screwing around Tarik stevens
Andy it's a mistake. Okay, he's a kid. I would
be mad make him speak to the team. But is
there a way? Did you and Jimmy? Did you guys
(09:48):
practice hail Mary's.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
Every day all the time.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Every day, and people gotta have to understand there's a
system to a hell Mary. There's a system and that's why.
Man watching it, I was like, whoa did you see this?
I was telling the guys earlier. I was at the
Miami game and cam Ward he came over to the game.
He was to grab the guy, the stick guy. Do
(10:14):
we have a TV time out? He said, no, TV
time I need it. Turn around to a coach, get
the guys here. We're not gonna have a TV time out.
I need to get it in. We gotta go fast.
I looked back to Bernie Kozark because we were all
on the sideline, and said, what was that?
Speaker 4 (10:27):
Bernie?
Speaker 2 (10:28):
He said, Man, it took me five years before I
learned all of that. I was like, I didn't even
know that stick man existed on the football field. You
see what I'm saying. So to me that you're seeing
leadership and a player that's beyond his years. What I
saw in that hell Mary was something beyond his years. Again,
(10:48):
now the order of a hell Mary, you have three
men involved him. Most important, you have a point man.
His job is to go down and stay maybe a
yard right inside the touch down.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Right the first guy you want to stand in front
of the goal line.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Right in front of the goal line.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Boom face back rebound position, basketball rebound position guy. You know,
he he is the point guy. The first guy one
yard in side the end zone, he is the point guy.
The next guy four yards outside the goal line, he
is the front guy.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
Because their job, the defense is taught to bat it down.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
So that guy is going to be the little quick guy,
the fast god.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
So if it gets back down, we.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Didn't skip it. Read get your butt in his in zone.
Some guy away. So he's going to be a fast guy,
a guy like me, Noah Brown.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
We're going to be on the backside five yards.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Past cast out the point man, and his job as
the point man is to try to catch it. If
he can't get it, push it back, point it, kick
it back, and Noel Brown gets it. But if they
try to get it and hit it forward, then we
got the front man.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
To hit it.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Now, now I want you to go inside of a
football game. These things are usually happening at the end
of a game, and there are things that you that
people haven't talked about.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
Now.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
First of all, even to get to the fifty yard line.
You remember you had to throw that quick out there,
So we were in a two minute drill just to
get to the fifty yard line. That means everybody just
line up playing, line up playing, lind up playing, and
then you get to the fifty yard line and throw
the hell Mary.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
You are damn exhausted. You're exhausted.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
You never get it set up as we practice it
because there's never enough time for exhausted as you lost to.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Run fifty yards. No, it wasn't he created the time.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
This is what I'm talking about.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
That that's what he did the way he can.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
He every time they back up and then the quarterbacks
have come forward and go right or left, but that's
not enough time, and they'll throw the ball. He backed up,
went forward when one way, then came back the other way,
and then as he was coming to the side he
was going to throw it on he still waited.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
Say like get in position, and then through that jump ball.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
I said to myself, that's beyond his years to understand
a sense of time. And when when you're that's young,
everything is being rushed. It's incredible and it's so beautiful
to watch how he comes along, how he's coming along.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
But it's it's a if.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
You coached the Bears with that Tarik Stevenson messing around
with the fans.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Man, it's afterwards and there's nothing you can do. You know,
we're not in the Jimmy Johnson years where you just
made an example out of guys.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
You know, can't do that anymore, right.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Right, right, because you know you just can't do that anymore.
So here what you gotta do is, you know, and
the sad part is he was supposed to be the
guy that's boxing out, that's boxing out Noah Brown and
that that's that's only one doodoo.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
That's only one dudoo that you didn't get the box out.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Now, the other doodoo for me is is now you
come running in and everybody's in position to play back
skip ball and knocked the ball down.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
But when you come running in with that in.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Ertia, you knocked everybody off where they were going and
you would the waned to kick the ball back to
Noah Brown.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
That's the second dudeo. You see what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Also, they had a spy on Jaden Daniels. That felt
like a wasted defender, right.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
But they that's on God gifts shoulders down. What we
told about what Jay Daniels doing is his ability to
understand that he shoulders up. But when he was getting
away from the Russians, that's just what God God just
said and just gave him that kind of gift for that.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
He's he smooth.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Michael Irvin of the playmaker defending righteously. You know, Michael
made a good point. J Mac Mookie Bets sort of
came into their space, their parking spot. They nudged this
car into their parking spot.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
If those dudes came on the field for that ball.
That's a different story.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
It is throwing Stuff's a different stories going on the
field story in all your years, was there remember years
ago there was a player named Mike Curtis. He was
a linebacker. Somebody came on the field and he tackled him.
In all your years of high school, college pro, let's
just go college pro, did any fan ever run on
the field.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
No, No, I've never had that.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
I was to say, most people are smart enough.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
Not not that I remember. And you got to remember
to Collins, I.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Was always playing for one of the majors, you know,
by Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, the University of Miami,
and you are.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
The Dallas had real security.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
Boy, Yeah, that was real security there because they are
wanted the majors.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
This wasn't a D three school.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Yeah, that was always good. You know, we had the
real popo.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Over there, the real pope.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
We didn't have the rental, the renters, you know, the
rental the playmaker.
Speaker 6 (15:48):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
in neon eastern nine am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
FS one and the iHeartRadio app Jmack with the News.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Thanks much, Nows.
Speaker 6 (16:01):
This is the herd.
Speaker 5 (16:03):
Reddit hops on the field last night.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
Apparently he's get started with DeAndre Hopkins, who made his
debut with the Chiefs last week. Colin caught two or
three targets for twenty nine yards helped convert a key
third down on the opening drive. Uh Speaking of the
media earlier this week, Andy Reid talked about his performance
and expectations this week against Tampa.
Speaker 7 (16:25):
He's a good football player and uh being able to
sit in uh more will even be better, I think
as we go forward here. So he was chomping at
the bid on the sideline, wanted to play in at
the same time knowing that he didn't have all of
it down, So there was a patience there. But he
(16:47):
was into the game and and I think you'll you'll
be able to see more of this next game.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
Excited to watch him play like a winning franchise finds
a way to win.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
He just jumping on the Chiefs vandwagon at this point.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Two Super Bowls up. But I can't wait to see
d hop Well. I've been a Andy Reid fan for
I wasn't the Chiefs guy. I was an Andy guy
even even Mahomes the first second year. I was a
little slow on it because he would get into these
big deficits, like you can't win in the NFL trailing
seventeen to nothing all the time.
Speaker 5 (17:19):
That's Mahomes. Yeah, Mahomes is likable. That's the thing. Mahomes
and Reader are very likable. They don't step in it.
They don't say dumb stuff.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
It's a much. I find the Chiefs a much more
TV friendly, relatable dynasty than New England, which was like covert, quiet,
do your job. It was like anti fun like Alabama,
Nick Saban good point and Belichick kind of anti fun,
very corporate, do your job, very covert, don't step in it.
(17:48):
I find the Chiefs to be more of the warriors.
You get some personality they they are like on social media,
the Kelse East. Yeah, it's more warriors. Not all dynasties
are interesting. Tim Duncan in the Spur Alabama and the Patriots.
If you take Brady out of the Patriots and he
was always in line, you know, say the right thing.
(18:08):
Some dynasties are just not. I mean, the NFL is
getting better ratings without the New England dynasty, and I
think part of it is Kansas City's fun.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Well, some NFL teams. By the way World Series make
top Monday Night Football. It was super close.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
I think they're still checking the last minute numbers. But
quick point on the.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
On the Chiefs. So DeAndre Hopkins is wonderful. Great you
added it. When Kansas City loses in the playoffs, I
can guarantee you, Pats Mahomes will not be blamed and
I can already give you your take.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
When the Chiefs lose, Well, Mahomes didn't have anybody. He's
thrown to d op Travis Kelsey's wash. They got nobody.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
I'm just the excuses are baked in for your Chiefs
to City.
Speaker 5 (18:48):
Oh you're a nick Chiefs Nick.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Well, you could say when the Warriors lost, people didn't
blame Steph Curry and they were right. It would be
other players. You can't. I mean, Mahomes has one beata
to back years with below average receiving course, so we
know it's not him. He's elevating people.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
Well, this season he has not been great, and they're
still winning. The defense is elevated. Like the opposite goes
for Brock Purty. When they win, well, he's got a
stack deck.
Speaker 5 (19:13):
When they lose, look look.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Purty through three fix. Yeah, but Perty's never proven that
he can carry average players the minute they got hurt.
What is he like six and six in his last
twelve starts or seven seven in his last fourteen.
Speaker 5 (19:27):
How many quarterbacks have proven they can carry average players.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
It's the great ones, which you claim Purdy was the
great ones? Do that Perty's great right now?
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Not all the time, other than Mahomes, Like, you're not
seeing dudes carry inferior teams. Even though Josh Allen had
to go get help Lamar back to back years now
they got to help him, Like Mahomes is one of one.
He doesn't need help to dominate the regular season.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
Oh boy, let's go to the Ravens, Colin.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
They've historically been a really good defensive team, but this year,
oh my gosh, some of these numbers are about to
show you are abysmal. Remember, Jamis Winston is just cooked
them for three hundred thirty four yards and three touchdowns.
John Harball knows they need to feast it fix this
leaky defense fast.
Speaker 8 (20:08):
We're gonna continue to turn over every stone with our
defense and with every other part of our team too,
you know, to get as good as we can get
it During the course of a long season. It's massive,
you know, making those plays. So we'll make those plays,
we'll work hard at it, and we'll continue to work
even harder at it, you know, because it's something that
we want our guys to have confidence saying, you know,
(20:28):
we got guys with good hands.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
You know, they can catch them ball.
Speaker 8 (20:30):
So I'm pretty I'm very confident that we're gonna do
it going forward, but i'd like to see it happen
real soon.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
Yeah, So these numbers are about to show you are
quite staggering the Ravens, you know, a real tough, physical team.
Speaker 5 (20:43):
Look at this colin.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
We're talking bottom seven in almost every defensive category.
Speaker 5 (20:48):
It is not good.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Now, they lost their defensive coordinator to Seattle McDonald's, who's great.
Speaker 5 (20:53):
But they did have to pay Lamar big, big money.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
They did.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
They moved off some offensive linemen and they led some
defensive guys go.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
They did.
Speaker 5 (21:01):
And retooling has not been easy. That is the big thing.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Like Mahomes has not been great. But I'll tell you
right now, he can cook this secondary. If Jameis Winston
can light him up with Cedric Tillman.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
It's and that's why they doubled down and went and
got Deontay Johnson. Their takeaway is the only way we
can win a championship is more points. Yep. And so
I think what Baltimore is saying is we're just gonna work.
We've had defensive led teams. That was the deal for championship.
That was Lamar Early, they had better defenses. Baltimore has said, listen,
we're just gonna go all in. We're not gonna have
(21:34):
Kansas City's defense. We're not gonna have We're we're not
gonna have Houston's defense when healthy. We're gonna try to
We're gonna try to outscore Kansas City. And I think
based outside of Kyle Hamilton in safety, I think they
have one decent pass rusher. But I think sometimes you
have to just go, let's double down on our strength
and not try to solve our weakness because in the end,
(21:56):
if we have the last possession against the Bills or
the Chiefs, you want another weapon, another really good defensive
ends not gonna win that game.
Speaker 5 (22:04):
Yeah, are you seeing this line?
Speaker 3 (22:06):
Raven's minus nine at home against your boy Bo Nicks
and Sean Payton. Nine, that's a big number. I know
any early thoughts on that one.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
I like Baltimore.
Speaker 4 (22:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (22:17):
So final story, Colin is this Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
They were held to a season low ten points last
week in a bad loss.
Speaker 5 (22:25):
To the Bills. I was on Seattle.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
It was ugly.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
They clearly missed their star DK Metcalf, who missed the
game with a knee injury.
Speaker 5 (22:31):
But Mike McDonald says.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Things are looking quote optimistic for Metcalf's return this week,
but as he has not practiced yet ahead of a
big game against the Rams, and this is.
Speaker 5 (22:41):
A huge swing game.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
It's on Fox because if Seattle wins this, all that
momentum the Rams had after the Vikings win is gone.
Speaker 5 (22:49):
And if the Rams win.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
It, oh my goodness, it's San fran Arizona Rams all
jumbled all of a sudden.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
We felt before the season, I had said I thought
San Francis go to take a step back. I thought
the Rams would win the division, but Seattle and Arizona
would be in for the fight in this division. It
doesn't feel like now we have a clear number one.
I think San Francisco is the best roster and when
they're healthy. I think we said it earlier in the week.
(23:17):
I think San Francisco was overvalued. I think now San
Francisco getting healthy is really undervalued. I think San Francis
I don't think they're a super Bowl team, but I
think right now, micro level, the Niners are better than
the perception because of early losses Seattle.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
You know, young coach.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
They had that loss to the Giants, which is kind
of inexplicable, but they got destroyed. Then they bounce back
and crush Kirk Cousins, then they get crushed. They're kind
of inconsistent right now. Arizona is kind of a sleeper
in that division.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Well, Arizona's offensive skill level is out of this world.
Speaker 5 (23:49):
McBride, Connor and Harrison.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
Are kylers are outstandard.
Speaker 5 (23:53):
There's Cardinals coming up.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Who do you like? That's in good game.
Speaker 5 (23:58):
I can't reveal that yet. I have that be the game,
but I like that game. I love a lot of games.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
This Oh, it's there's a lot of good. Oh, there's
a ton of quarterback.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
Matchup dessarily greatful gambling.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
But like the Bears coming off that hill, Mary, I
don't want them to lose Arizona.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
That is a tough and by the way, Arizona winning
three straight do you trust him? I mean, my biggest
bat last week was Miami over Arizona like that because
I didn't trust Arizona.
Speaker 5 (24:24):
And the line was with us.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
The line went up if the wise guys were on
Arizona or on Miami. But you don't know what happened.
Kyler Murray took it over in the second half.
Speaker 5 (24:32):
I mean, Miami, you're up nine in the fourth quarter
at home. You got to close it out.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
Yes, jamac with the news.
Speaker 6 (24:40):
Well that's the news, and thanks for stopping by the
Herd line.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
So we were talking about an article today that said
that Bryce Young and Anthony Richardson are already seen as
sort of busts, you know, And a lot of this
is owners are richer, they're more impulsive, and you get
a couple of years now and by you know, to me,
by Thanksgiving of the second year, people make decisions. So
(25:40):
we're still three four weeks away from Thanksgiving. But I
think both the Panthers and the Colts would draft another
quarterback and will. But we went back and we said,
you know, Bryce Young was a little small and Richardson
was raw and more of an athlete than a quarterback.
And I think what's happening is just teams are getting
more desperate because the league has gotten so quarterback driven.
(26:01):
By all the rules, it's the only way you have
to win, so you can you have to make a decision,
and the teams that double down on like a Daniel Jones,
that's worse. Then you're trapped paying an average quarterback at
least Bryce Young. And Anthony richards said, you're never gonna
You're never gonna have a cap issue. I mean, the
Giants can't attain certain players because they're jammed up against
(26:25):
the cap with Daniel Jones being overpaid. But we went
back and we looked at the best quarterback and we said,
we can complicate all you want the quarterback position. Who
knows who's gonna be good. But we went back to
the previous nine drafts and there is one common thread.
They're all really accurate from the pocket. Jade and Daniels,
(26:48):
c J. Stroud, this is the best quarterback from each class.
You may not have thought it at the time, but
they become the best quarterback. Brock Perty, Trevor Lawrence, Joe Burrow, Kyler, Murray,
Josh Allen, Lamar, Jackson, Mahomes and Golf are all excellent
from the pocket. And what's funny about Lamar You don't
think he is, but his career completion percentage is sixty
seven percent, and it's gotten much better in the last
(27:10):
year because the Ravens have finally gotten him better perimeter weapons.
They always gave him old lines and backs and tight ends.
Didn't have very good receivers until recently. So you know,
I mean, by the way all shapes and sizes. GoF
doesn't run, but he's great from the pocket. Pretty small,
but he's great from the pocket. Lamar and Jaden, Daniels
(27:30):
and Josh Allen are very athletic, but they're good from
the pocket. Kyler Murray Tiny runs a lot good from
the pocket. So Trevor Lawrence has been disappointing, But some
of that's just the the reality, the vagaries of being
part of the Jaguars system. You know, So you can
(27:51):
and do you think Bryce Young and Anthony Richardson are busts.
There's a difference between being a bust and just somebody
I'm not going to buildund. I don't think any franchise
looks at Bryce Young and says let's build around him.
But I think there'll be a lot of teams like
the Rams could say we'll take you as a backup.
We don't want to draft the quarterback. We'll give up
(28:12):
a fifth round pick for you. So you say, bust,
whether or not franchise quarterback. I always said that about Tebow.
I love Tebo as my third quarterback. He's great in
the locker room, worked hard. He could be like an
upman on a punt team, number three quarterback. I'm not
going to build around Tim Tebow. I don't want a
celebrity backup quarterback. You know, he could be an upman
(28:33):
on the punt team or a tight end, maybe an
emergency quarterback. But That's what with Anthony richards And there
may be another team that thinks they can fix him.
But his biggest issue isn't just his inaccuracy, is that
Shane Stikeen viewed as a quarterback whisperer who turned Jalen
Hurts into a super Bowl quarterback, and Justin Herbert broke
(28:54):
all those records as a rookie understike And the problem
for Anthony Richardson, who I think has real talent, is
once stike In bails on you, everybody's like, well, if
Shane can't fix him, let's get out of here. I mean,
I think if Anthony Richardson was bombing with a defensive coach,
he would get another shot. It's like Trey Lance. Once
(29:15):
Kyle Shanahan said it doesn't work, I still can't believe
the Cowboys gave up a fourth for him, because if
Shanahan can't make the quarterback work, the quarterback doesn't work.
If stik In can't make it work, it doesn't work. Now, Carolina,
you can argue that's a circus. Nobody could make that work.
But the quarterback coach who took the head coaching job
(29:35):
in Carolina, remember he was great with Gino and Baker Mayfield.
So here's the downside to being a young quarterback in
getting an offensive coach. If you fail, nobody wants to
take you. The upside to getting it is if you're good,
you'll get good faster. You'll get more polished, refined faster.
(29:57):
You know the downside of the defensive coaches. He's not
gonna get you. He didn't have that sensibility. But if
you bomb out, somebody will go, well, that's the coach.
I mean, let's say Caleb Williams had a bumpy second
half of the season, people would they blame Eberflus. If
Shane Stiken coach the Bears, you'd be like, I don't know,
I don't know if Caleb's gonna work.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
So there you go.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Michael Irvin Joel Klatt both both brought it today and
the two guys that disrupted the game last night for
the Yankees Baseball stepped in will not be available out
of the bullpen tonight for New York
