Speaker 1 (00:09):
Welcome to the Favorites, the podcast presented by BED three
sixty five. We are part of the Volume podcast Network.
Live from our Tommy John Holmes Studios. I am Chad
Mohman of the Action Network. Folks, this is our Sunday
night episode for the second week in a row. We're
going live while we are sweating the end of a
game last week was tragic, horrific, created a moment that
(00:34):
I know many of us will remember. I do not,
because I blacked out the rest of this show. While
we sweat the end of this rams Seahawks game Rams
up by seven two minute warning they're about to punt
the ball. We have the RAMS minus one and a half.
We need the RAMS for our lungs. Other than that,
(00:58):
we will review our five favorite pick that we put
into the contest today to sect the games we left out,
preview the early lines we already like for Week ten, Folks,
Week ten, I'm joined as always, buying my co host,
my companion, Mike Capadre, my professional better Simon Hunter or
at Simon.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Hello, Chad? How are we doing?
Speaker 1 (01:18):
This is why we do it? This is the fun,
This is the sweat, this is the test. We've liked
the Rams. We liked the Rams all week. We had
a chance to take them out when they were favorites.
We decided to stick with it. We thought they were
better team. This game has been back and forth. We're
going to get into it, but out of the corner
of my eye, we're going to sweat this game. I'm
not going to mush us in any way as they
(01:38):
might have done last week with the Chicago Bears. But
this is the kind of day it's been. Okay Simon
for me, based on Sean Kerner's advice, I'm convinced me
this morning I bet Cody Barton over seven and a
half tackles and assists in the Ravens Broncos games game
to this morning. He had seven and a half tackles
(01:59):
and assists for the entire fourth quarter. He did not cash.
He missed the eighth tackle on a penalty against the
Broncos near the goal line that the Ravens accepted the penalty,
the play didn't count. He never got another He never
got in another play again. It's been a strange, challenging,
(02:21):
difficult day. Let's see if the Rams can get this
punt off, you might be ahead of me. Right now.
But the last time they tried this in this area
didn't work. They did, that's good news. Fair catch by
the Seahawks one fifty four Seahawks coming out of the field.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Now it's going to be a sweat.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
This is going to be exhausting.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Engine is not having the best game.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
I mean, other than those insane deep downfield throws right now,
he's not playing that great of a game. So both quarterbacks,
even Stafford. Stafford, how many three and ounces he had
in this game?
Speaker 1 (03:39):
So dude, that was in his hands, that interception was
in his hands.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
He just ended, we know what it's about. The half of.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Al Right, here's the good news. When we had our
Sunday conversation, we were starting to feel really good about
the Giants at four and a half in the contest,
Cowboys at three and a half in the content test,
and we still like New England at three and a
half in the contest, all of them ugly dogs. Of course,
we also loved the Packers at Packers at three and
(04:08):
a half. We had it locked in Thursday. By Sunday
it was two and a half. We decided not to
change anything because we wanted to keep the Packers line.
And thank god, because our favorites the Buffalo Bills minus six,
the New Orleans Saints minus seven and a half, They
should have won both of those games by thirty. It
(04:29):
will be interesting to see what Nick Giffen's expected scores
for those games should have been, because it's tragic they
didn't dominate those games. The Patriots got all the bounces
we hadn't gotten all season, thank god. All right, Geno
just threw a short pass out of bounds because no
(04:52):
one can tackle. Thank god for the Patriots today. I
feel like, because we've got this game sort of, it's
hard to get into the games right now. What you
know what we should do. Let's talk about this game
(05:13):
for a second, because to me, while we're watching this game,
we're going to jump ahead to the Rams.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Fourth a half, fourth and five now, so this might
be over in literally thirty seconds hopefully.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
All Right, you're a little bit ahead of me, so great,
but let's talk about this one anyways. To me, like
the key moment was the end of the first half.
Like in the red zone, Stanford nearly throws a pick
the first time in the red zone all game. This
was a red zone liss game until nearly the end
of first half. He nearly throws a pick on one
(05:45):
play a bad incompletion than a fumbled snap.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
This ain't over. Unfortunately, this is an ugly game.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
This is a true divisional game right here. Let's jump
the other games just code. We might have to come
back to this one.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Anyway, all right, So Miami Buffalo. We'll start back at
the beginning. The Bills driving in the red zone Miami
like it had been a pretty close game. Early in
the second quarter, Josh Allen hits key on Coleman on
a slant two yard line. Coleman bobbles, the ball bounces
into Jalen Ramsey's hands. The Fins then go on a
(06:17):
fifteen play, eight minute drive to score a touchdown, and
that sort of let them find their rhythm, and the
Bills couldn't ever get ahead in the way that they
really needed to cover a six point number. Doesn't help
that they missed an extra point and then nearly missed
another extra point, and when they finally get the lead
(06:37):
of seven points midway through the fourth, they then let
Miami go eleven plays in five minutes and only got
him to third down once on that final drive. What
happened here, it was.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
A bunch of stuff. I mean, obviously you just talked about.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Though they came out to slopy offensively, right, they couldn't
really finish drives, put drives together, pick the field goal
to start the game. But I mean we talked a
little before he came on. I just think that penalty
in the first half, they score Josh Allen amazing rushing
touchdown and they call it back on a fantin and
holding call, and that kind of right there. When we bet,
we talk all the time you bet big favorites like
(07:13):
this that four points is gonna matter.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
They kicked up a three there instead of getting the four,
and that.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Really did dictate the second half, where you know, that
would have been a different game. If they're up eleven
on that Miami team, they could play that different defensive instead,
like you said, they're only up seven, so Miami could
still run the ball, and that was the key to
them in this game. I mean, h Chan dominated this
game against them, and.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
We got lucky.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
They gave a couple of touches to most a Moster
got uh you know, stripped, stripped from the ball. I
think someone punched it out and it was like, Okay,
that's what we needed for our Buffalo bet. But yeah,
that they had a chance to win it. I think
I think it was fourth down two on that final
drive by Miami. They picked it up and getting that touchdown.
Like you said, it's it's a dead bet, especially at
(07:57):
the number we bet it. So that's that's life and
your I had these big favorites.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
I will say that I still would have bet the Bills.
They were our favorite bet all week. It was.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Yeah, it's tough.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
I think we got buggered.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
It was it was a bet we usually don't make.
We did.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Did not work out for us, But like you just said,
it's one I'd always make in the future too. It's
I like that number, I like the spot, and that
that didn't work out for me this week. This another game,
we're gonna talk about the minutes. Same thing with Green Bay.
It's like like the number, like the spot, and we
always talked about the bounces, little things didn't go away,
and the same thing happened this Bills game where you
know that Josh Allen pick not his fault, stupid play
(08:34):
penalties didn't go away and uh yeah, great cover by Miami.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
New Orleans a Carolina Carolina minus seven and a half.
Remember when I said on Thursday we were leaning towards leaning,
we were leaning towards betting. The worst QB against the
spread in the past twenty years and the worst coach
against the spread in the past twenty years, Why do
we think it was a good idea to bet the Saints.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
I can't really hate it. I like the panther strade DATAE. Johnson, like,
they're just they had a bunch of injuries. They still
have a bunch of injuries to their team.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Losing Alive they killed us, like Derek Carr.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Losing the number one, number two receiver because she Sheid
has been out for a couple of weeks. Now, it's
we saw it like it was tough for them to
keep a lead, and then when Alive went out, that
team just seems shook from that whole thing of this
guy getting knocked.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Out of the game.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
And I'm with you, like, normally we're on the other
side of that one. I did feel pretty good though,
once the game started. I was like, thank god we
took the Saints too. They're gonna roll this team. But yeah,
that was that was a bad bet. Saints outdoors Divisional
game usually ru on the other side of that one,
So yeah, I definitely regretted it.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Well, it wasn't even a lot of like it was
the first two drives they couldn't get into the end zone,
you know they were Yeah, they kicked field goals, like
you get in the end zone on those two and
you're having a different conversation. And then Bryce Young didn't
even do a sort of stupid Bryce Young stuff where
he always sort of throws an interception. Yeah, a good game,
(09:57):
Yeah he played all right? U. All right, let's talk
about the last one we've lost, at least officially so
far today, which is Green Bay. Man. This one, this
one hurts a lot. Yeah, because this is the game
that set the tone for our week and the tone
(10:20):
for our day. We were so ready to fade a
peak Lions team outside in terrible weather for the first time,
first game outside all year, and like initially it looked
like the Packers should have been able to run all
(10:40):
over them and the Lions. We've been talking all year
how the reason we're betting the Lions isn't because of
the fireworks of their offensive scheme. It's only because their
offensive line is so freaking good. It's kind of what
we saw today, Like in the rain, in the muck,
in the wind, their offensive Line overpowered the Packers. Their
(11:04):
run game was tremendous. It made the difference the entire game.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Did.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
But it was also you know, Jordan Love, I think
we saw in that game, who's the young second year
starting quarterback, right, I think that really shined out Like golf,
that moment did not seem too big for him in
any way.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
And now I know that Love had.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
An injury coming into this game, and you know he
didn't move great in the pocket or trying.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
To get on the coin toss.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
By the way, oh geez. Same with.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
Sam could be said though about just you know, everyone
coming to that game was going to bet the lines,
and I thought we had a great number where okay,
this number might land on two and two or three,
but there's no way we're not covering the three and
a half. I just thought we had gotten such a
great number, especially with the movement of the number and
(12:01):
you know him dropping wicks dropping that.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Touchdown the end zone.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
We both knew it's like, okay for them to get
this backdoor now, that's that chance is pretty much dead now.
And uh yeah that that was a huge game for Lines,
and I wish I could be happy with some of
that bet lines futures, but we talk all the time,
like the futures market, I bet so little compared to
what I have on these games week week, Like the
amount I just lost on Green Bay Nukes the amount
(12:24):
I'd win on the Lions when this division.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
So I wish I.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
Could be happy about it, because this is a big
win if you were Allan's future bet. But now that
that one's stunk, that was a bad bet. This Lions
team's just a juggernaut and we will catch them eventually, right,
they will eventually have value on the other side. I
don't know what it's gonna be, Chack, because you're just nailed.
This was the spot, bad weather, everything kind of working
(12:48):
against them, and you know they were even playing that
good That picked six by Love flipped the whole thing,
And I wish I could say, well, that was just random,
But he's had a couple of games now with those
type of plays where he just does too much. So
uh yeah, that was a tough loss and a bat bet.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Their run game, there was a key play to me.
The key play was the Packers are driving, They've got
a third and five. It's an out route to Tucker Craft.
He just drops it, and then the very next play
they miss a field goal, and instead of going from
(13:26):
seven to six, the Lions then go down. They're up
ten to three, and then the Packers do what they do,
which is be aggressive, which you'd want them to do.
But that's when the Kirby Joseph picks six happens, and
like they couldn't get back into it, you know, in
fourth and one in the third quarter, Jared Goffe at
(13:47):
this point thirteen of fifteen and they handed to Jamior Gibbs,
you rushes straight up the middle for a touchdown. Like
if you can't bet against this team when they're playing
outside anymore, they just may be the greatest team in
NFL history. That's that's the only thing we can say.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
No that I mean, we joked at the beginning of the
year that this team the Saints were like the new
greatest show on turf. We all know that this Lions
team is that team, right. They're this juggernaut offensively and
in a game like today, their defense can now show up.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Right.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
That's why we said they aiden Hudchson was such a
big loss because it's like they finally have a pretty
good complete defense, and you know, that was that was
a huge deal to their team. So yeah, I can't
believe it, like that was such a good number. That
guy dropping that touchdown. That's gonna halt me for the
next like night, I'm trying to get I'm gonna hopefully
get over it by Tuesday show.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
But that's just those are the.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Ones that just you know, they're just brutal because you
bet heavy on a number and you have a great
number and you're feeling confident in all week, and it's like,
you know, you see the plays in your mind that
can make the difference, and they didn't happen. And that's
unfortunately part of sports betting.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
For better is like these are the nuances that matter.
By the way, Seahawks just gained another first down, back
to back touchdowns in the afternoon games, we needed the
Rams and the Packers with less than a minute left
in the first half. That was excruciating. Unlike Fluke plays,
those are those are the moments you don't forget that
(15:23):
just haunt you. I just want to remind you the
Rams dropped an interception that could have ended this game. Yep,
it was in his hands and he dropped it, and now.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
They were dominating this whole game.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
I just can't get over the fact they give the
thirteen points in that last minute of the first half.
It's just it's on the coach and you want to
blame the players. That's just that's that's on the coaching
like that that to make those kind of mistakes defensively
is just brutal.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Are listen the game that may have saved our season
today not to be a dramatic New England Patriots at
Tennessee Titans, a day saving miracle from a rookie QB
coming off of a concussion on the road. Yeah, this
(16:15):
is when betting makes the least sense. We had New
England plus three and a half at Tennessee and the
first half was like full of all the missed opportunities
that usually goal dooing bad teams like we had the
miss field goal, they got to pick in their end
zone in the Titans in in their end zone, couldn't
convert it into a touchdown. They actually fumbled on the
(16:36):
first play of the second half but recovered it and
then they went on a sixteen play drive to take
the lead. Looked amazing. The Titans tied it Drake me
fumbles deep in his end zone.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
No Titans, just I think he was on his own
twenty five.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
I mean deep in his deep it like deep in
his uh, in his territory, and Jesus this game, uh you.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
Know, Oh my god, Well they stopped him. So it's
fourth and one, so we'll see.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
Oh dude, you're so far ahead of me. Yeah, hold on, well,
hold on, let's watch what happens here.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Well, I already told you they're fourth and one, and
I'll tell you a second.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
I to kick a field goal and oh oh from
that far ahead of you, got it. So we're not
dead yet.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
That wouldn't if they tied, then we do lose this
back because of a tie.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Uh, Drake May fumbles the ball in his own twenty four,
the Titans score toshdown, then it's Drake May time. Simon. Yeah,
like he canvert in that final drive.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
How do you not be excited if you're a Newland Patriots?
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Well, because he played like like he played like a
real quarterback. He ran when he had to run, He
made great throws down field.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
He takes on contact like an idiot, though there's a
couple of times he runs in the Guys, you're like dude,
please protect your body, Like, come.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
On, okay, the Rams just call the time out.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
On fourth and one.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
The Seahawks were going for it in this window with
the minute forty five left. I'm sure everybody saw it.
He converted two third downs, a fourth down, scrambled fifteen seconds,
gets it. He's going down. Lofts a miracle into the
end zone to remindre Stevenson touchdown. How do they not
go for two?
Speaker 2 (18:25):
I don't know you.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
I was screaming, like I was like a lily cursing
that guy's name. I was like, Mayo is the worst.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Coach on football. How do you not go for two?
Speaker 1 (18:33):
How do you not go for two?
Speaker 3 (18:34):
You got a tired defense, you have all the momentum.
It doesn't make sense why he did that. I mean,
that's just an issue of he doesn't have like an
analytics guy in the sideline with him to talk to him.
Just tell them the numbers where it's like, mathematically, that's the spot.
You're a team with nothing to lose, try to steal
the game right there. Over time, it never works out
for you. Oh my god, lad, we're not dead yet.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Oh my god, dead? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Oh my god, Oh my god. Oh my god, don't
tell me. Don't tell me, crazy, tell me, don't tell me,
don't tell me. How am I so far behind you?
This is ridiculous. Oh my god, you didn't get it.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
I'll send my guy up to you next weekend. I'll
get you on that new cable.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
Yeah, this, I mean, this is gonna be painful because
I'm already back and now it's like, okay, Stafford, just
get us the field goal. But man, we've we've lost
and won this game about twenty times, and I like, legit,
need this or I'm gonna have a rough day.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
Bet Simon. This is exhilarating. This is why we do it.
It's why our whole community is here with us right
now to enjoy the roller coaster of emotions that we
are sharing with everybody in this moment as we try
to will the Rams to not tie this freaking game.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Enjoy. Because I rarely sweat. This is a true sweat, though,
because I need this one for today. I had some.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
It was an ugly one. It was it was a
hard day. It wasn't great.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Boom Stafford, baby.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Oh goodness, listen, just do the play by play because
you're so far ahead of me.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
No, I can't relive that what you did that did.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
Not just happen. He did not just throw it into
triple coverage to one guy, one guy who could come
out with it. Oh my god, that was insane. Listen,
the last thing we're I do want to say, the
last thing we're going to say about the Patriots. He
(20:38):
should have gone for two. Yeah, Like, we may have
already gotten our miracle today because the Titans had a
twelve page drive, twelve play drive. It took seven minutes,
eight rushes. They are beating up on a defense that
you just noticed is tired. On third and two from
the seven, they're clearly going to run it in likely
get the first down. Mason Rudolph Bumble's a snap, they
(20:59):
could field goal. We get a win on the board.
Come on, Matthew, Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
And the Patriots, I will say that number. We talked
about it though, Like, in what world should Tennessee been
three and a half favorites against anybody? I don't care
if the Patriot of the worst team of football. Like,
I'm so glad we didn't get scared off because that
was probably the biggest public dog of the week. I
mean everybody. Then Denver. You know what Denver might have.
I think Denver on our app had more bets or
(21:27):
more tickets. Yeah, but that was a game, honestly, I
love and I bet it. You could have talked me
out of it this morning because I just saw before
we hopped on a call. I was like, Wow, all
the money is coming so heavy on this Patriots team.
It's still three and a half. So we definitely got
lucky on the May play. But that was also a
(21:47):
bad read by the sports book hanging that three and
a half.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
We got very lucky. I never really thought about talking
you out of it. I will tell you. As we're
still waiting for this Rams and Seahawks game to end,
the one game I want to pick a knit is
the Chargers. I felt like the Chargers might have been
(22:13):
one of my best handicaps of the season. I had
this team nailed, and when we talked about it during
the week, betting is riding the wave and betting is
getting off the wave, and we were together, I thought
in getting off the jamis wave, like we didn't believe.
Oh my god, Matthew Stafford going for it. That's past interference.
Anatas Staffs.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Wow, that was a good handicap. Thank god we needed that.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Oh my god, oh man.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. That was in
It's both insane and it never should have come down
to this play.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
No, but it was fun ride. It's now that we won.
That was a fun ride.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
That was a great ride.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
And I know how much you pissed off, Matt, Matt
because just because that was terrible podcasting.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
But god damn that I love it.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
I know, Matt, you can tell us in the chat
how terrible podcasting that was. But yes, the one game
I want to pick a knit on is that Chargers game.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Yeah, you and like the Winston thing, everything you said
was true.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
No, they're legit.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
I gotta give credit to that Chargers team. I mean,
that's that's a playoff team. Win They they went in
there and posed their will. They dominated them. Yeah, they're
a better team. I thought they're gonna be this year, honestly,
and that that was. You know, as much as I
want to give ship to uh Jamis and the Browns,
that they just played a team that just seemed better
and more prepared, right, And you know, like you said,
(23:49):
that was a good call by you that would be
a letdown spot, but it's yeah, it's a game that
I I honestly, I had a little bit bet on
the Browns. I threw them on our money line around
Robin part and yeah, I definitely missed the mark on
that one.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
Just think if we had taken the Saints out instead
of the Chargers, we'd be sitting here at three and
two on the day instead of two and three.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
No, A, yeah, No, there's a couple of bad ones.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
I mean the one that really sticks stuck out was
like I don't know how we both got sucked back
into Dallas Like I was on Atlanta, I know, been
Atlanta minus two and a half, and then once I
got to three and a half Dallas, it was like, Okay,
this is too much.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
The value shifted a three and a half of this
Dallas team and it's like, no, that was properly numbered.
That was that was a bad read.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
So yeah, this week I feel luckier in our senior
two and three because it could have been easily zero
and five. But I told you before the show, I'm
I'm selfish. I feel like we should have been four
and one. Sou of all the games that the worst
bet to me was that, like you just said, that Saints.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
Game was Look, I feel like this is the most
exciting two and three. When is the last time we
had a two and three that landed on a h
a one handed catch in overtime to win the game
and a fifteen second scramble to tie the game and
then getting a fumble to and forcing the field goal
(25:14):
so we cover by the hook. This might have been
the day where we ate up a lot of the
good will, so we were owed.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
I told you it was going to go the other
way eventually, like we just even today, we still had
a lot of bullshit go the other way.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
But that's just betting.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
But no, I can't wait to break down these upcoming
lines the next week because it feels like there's a
lot of a lot of teams that, like you just said,
we're gonna get value on just because they were gonna
they were so unlucky, and then the luck rankings are
going to reflect that this upcoming week.
Speaker 1 (25:42):
Favorites were twelve and one straight up this week.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
Yeah, terrible day for the money liner on Robin.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
All right, So some early lines and some early lines
to me, one that stood out right away Tennessee Titans
are nine and a half point underdogs to the Los
Angeles Chargers. That Titans defense is just good. I know
they're on the road.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
S already down to seven and a half.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
All right, well there you go. I guess I was right,
very sharp. All right, Well that was run one. I
think we'll still talk about it. Seven and a half
still feels really high to me. You're still getting the
hook at the seven. What did you think of Denver
(26:30):
nine and a half of Kansas City.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
I don't I don't hate it, like I don't mind
bending it right now if you want to. But I
think we saw a little bit of what this Denver
team can be right today against this Ravens team. That
they are young, they are in experience, they have been
playing some bad teams, and it seems like what.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Things are going good. They're able to beat up on
these bad teams.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
But I wouldn't rush the better because if if, if
the Chiefs roll, if they absolutely roll the Bucks tomorrow,
you might be able to get ten.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Like there's no no, there's no one other.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
Than us coming back on this this Buccaneers team, right,
I mean, the public is going to be totally off
of them after this, after last week.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
So that's a number.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
I don't think you need a rush to gain, but
I do like your heads out where it's like, you know,
if this number gets that high in this divisional game,
that's that's gonna reach a point of value for this
Denver team.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
Pittsburgh two and a half point underdogs against the Washington Commanders.
That's it. That feels either like the absolute right play
to get a mock Mike Tomlin ra ra as a
(27:45):
dog to take on this young whipper snapper quarterback like
that is the perfect smash spot for this Steelers defense.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
It is.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
But like I get if you were gonna be pisseding
me because I was so high on the Giants team
because it was the same thing last year where it
was like a good spot.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
But you're exactly right, like this Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Team is much better than that Giants team, and defensively
there are ways they can attack this Washing team that's
gonna give them problems. But I'm not gonna lie to
Chad Jaden Daniels a scary man, Like I thought today
he wouldn't play that well and he just had a
couple of moments that are just so it's just so
incredible that we're, like you just said, we're into week
(28:29):
nine here and he's still playing at this veteran high level,
Like he hasn't hit that rookie wall like you saw.
You watch a lot of the bear say of Kayler Williams.
He's incredibly talented kid, but there's moments where he looks
like a rookie that is normal, that should be happening
to a rookie, and the kid Jane Daniels doesn't have
these moments like he breaks a lot of the rules.
(28:50):
I'll be honest, and I know that I wouldn't be
praising him as hard as I would be if we
got that two pointer and got the cover. But they're
about to walk in for another touchdown end of that game.
This easy come in a double digital blowout by Washington
if they had chose so.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
So I'm with you. I'll be on Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
But this is another line that it's two and a
half right now. Doesn't the Joe public come in heavy
on Washington here? I mean, you get the three.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Yeah. So sometimes when we're having this conversation, it's not
so much are we going to bet it right now?
It's sort of which way are we leaning?
Speaker 2 (29:21):
Oh? Yeah? What would be the.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
Indicators to make us say, hey we want to hold,
Hey we want to get this right now.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (29:31):
I would hold because I actually like I like Pittsburgh
and I want to take them here.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
But it's like.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
This jumps out is going to be eighty percent of
the money eight percent. Tickets are going to come in
here on Washington, like at two and a half. That's
going to be a really huge public play this upcoming week.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
Yeah, but the second it gets to three, it's going
to be there for thirty seconds and be gone.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
That's what I mean. You shine though, put you're alerts
on getting the action.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
Everyone, get into the Action Network app, turn on your
line alerts for the Steelers US three. Just be ready,
and you gotta be awake. You gotta have eight phones
that will wake you up. The second it goes, it happens,
because it's going to happen at about two thirty am tonight,
that's when it's gonna happen. I got two other games
and then I want you to tell me years before
(30:14):
we get out of here.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Jack game mind. I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
Jags plus five and a half Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Uhh that's a big that's a big number. So yeah,
I looked the Jags up off I guess right away.
I like the Jags, but it's another game where tonight
Vikings roll, we'll get a six.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
So like I liked that the books are hanging these
these numbers where they know they know which way the
like they're hanging these known which way the pulk's gonna
come early on here, and that's this is definitely an
enticing number. I mean, this is going to be an
easily a tease down number. Why would you not tease
the Vikings down? They're the better team. Jaguars do not
know to close out games like they should have won
today against the Eagles. Trevor Lawrence at all the momentum,
(30:56):
Eagles defenses on their heels, they were exhausted, and he
threw a gift of an inner. We talk all the
time about these high draft picks, like some of the
guys just have it and some guys don't.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
And it's clear he does not have it.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
He doesn't have the game winning drive gene. No, he's
got the good garbage time gene.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
That's why again, the Drake maything was so exciting it's like,
who cares if his whole season's terrible. You just saw
him run a two minute drill, guys in his face,
back foot throwing a dime in the corner of the
end zone. Like that's not coachable. That's God given talent
and living up to the moment. And Trevor Lawrence is
with the opposite of that.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
He just has not lived up to the moment in
any sense of the word.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
In some weird, arcane world of the of the internet,
somebody needs to reassess that Jaggs come back win against
the Chargers in the playoffs and see how much of
it was Brandon Staley being a terrible coach and not
knowing how to hold a lead and Jacksonville playing great
and doing miraculous things and Trevor Lawrence showing for a
(32:00):
moment he might have it. Because that game is sort
of the example that everyone uses when they say what
about that game? And so that game should be reassessed
if you're going to be thinking about what Trevor Lawrence
is for the rest of his career. The last game
on my list, Yes, sir Houston plus three and a half, Detroit.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Already up to four and a half.
Speaker 3 (32:23):
Yeah, but we're gonna have to talk about because I
feel like we can't do it. I mean, we just
saw last Thursday. He's gotten no receivers in Houston right
now and his offensive line can't block anybody. Like I
don't know if this is enough movement for this Houston side,
but I want to be on Houston. So yeah, give
(32:44):
me the six and a half and I feel like
I'm all in. But at this timer, I'm still tempted, honest.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
To go Detroit.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
All right, tell me what you got, all right?
Speaker 2 (32:51):
First one.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
I mean it's just I know you're gonna hate it,
but I feel like we have to do it. Saints
plus three at home against Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
I looked at that, and how do we not sell
on Atlanta?
Speaker 1 (33:03):
I looked at that.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
I know I'm not gonna rush to take it because
I want to see you if Olave is going to
be able to be back this week.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
If it meant so much to have a Lave not
be in the game against the Panthers, it's going to
mean more to not have him in the game against
the Falcons. I know you'll be able to scheme all
week because he won't be in. But they don't have
any weapons, and.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Drake Lennon might be out of this game as well
for Atlanta, so that could cancer shother out. But that
that's just a very enticing number, that number at plus three.
The next one is, I mean the Eagles are minus
seven on the road in Dallas.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
Yeah, but we don't know if dak is going to play.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Left the game with it.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
He left, then the Eagles are.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
Going to be out with aj Aj Brown. So Sakuan
got a little banged up in this game. Like it's yeah,
there's a lot to love with that Dallas number and
just how big it is a game I didn't bet.
I just want to get your your opinion on Monday
night or the Rams are minus two and a half
against on Miami team.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Yeah, we grab that now.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
I saw that and like honestly.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
I know we just feel like we got away with
one there. But like, yeah, we talked that we two
is not good against good teams and this ye, this
Rams team, as much you want to give them ship
for this was a complete team win today. Like that
was That's what good teams do. They win games they
shouldn't win.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
So there were two reasons why I didn't bring it up.
One was I already saw us looking at Houston, and
so I was nervous about bringing up two back to
back primetime games Sunday night Monday night, and I was
waiting on to see what happened with the end of
the Seahawks game.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
Yeah, I just want to grab it. Just got I
think that number goes up to three. So I just
want to grab the two and a half.
Speaker 2 (34:46):
Now.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Look, this NFC West is fascinating right now. The Cardinals
are five and four, looking better every game. I mean
the Bears are tragic, like what happened to them today,
just a missi mash of continued undisciplined play and today
it was all.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
They just we talked about.
Speaker 3 (35:05):
Though they're a young team, that's a lot to overcome
in a week. I mean, even you joked it's hard
for you to get it off your mind, and you're
a grown ass man. Imagine being a twenty something kid.
I mean, it's it's tough to move past that. You
really do need to be a veteran team.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
Yeah, but I've been with the Bears longer, so it
should take me longer get over it. Like these guys,
they just got there. They might not even be their
next year. I can guarantee you the coach isn't going
to be there next year. So I'm surprised the coach
got on the freaking plane because the reason they lost
this game is because of the defense. The defense was
truly terrible. The defense against run was awful. By the way,
(35:40):
what did Kyler Murray end up at?
Speaker 2 (35:42):
A way under? Way? Under?
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Way under? So it was like you nailed that. You
were on convinced me today. You said take Kyler under
two fifteen and a half. He ended up at one
sixty or whatever. He had sixty five in the first half.
Great call by Simon on Kyler Murray under. So I
don't feel like we have consensus on anything tonight, which
is fine. We don't have to make bets.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
Really, you don't love that rams bet.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
Oh no, we have the rams bet. That's it. I
think that's the only one. I kind of like. I
think I like Tennessee more than you do because I
don't think the Chargers are going to play the kind
of game where it's an automatic blowout some of the things.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
That's fair, But I told you the key the Chargers, though,
is they make you make the mistake Mason Ruolph will
LEVI us they love to make mistakes, so like that,
that's just my hesitation with that big number because this
plays into what the Chargers want teams to do. It's
like they just wear these guys out and they just
wait for it, and once you make the mistake, the
game's over, right. They every time they win, they win
(36:46):
the turnover battle. That's the type of team they've been
this season.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
Ye all, are we missing anything else? No?
Speaker 3 (36:52):
I mean I have two more games I want to
talk about, but then I don't want to run through
every game. We got to make sure that people come
and check us out Tuesday. So I'm excited to talk.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
More about it.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
But like that Ravens, they're minus six right now against
Cincinnati Bengals. I'm gonna take the plus six like Joe
Burrow against that defense. If you want to grab that
number early with me, I'll grab that now because I
think that number goes down as well. That's just too
many points for a guy like him that should have
t Higgins back against a defense that can't really stop
good passing offenses.
Speaker 1 (37:22):
Simon, I feel like this was the entire circle of
