Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
All Right, we got a lot to talk about. No
better guy to talk two than Fox Sports. NFL reporter
NFL network Peter Schrager is joining us part of the
Fox NFL Kickoff on Sunday. Okay, let's start with this.
Daniel Jones released New York Giants. Now they have a shot,
especially if they lose to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, to

(00:44):
get that number one pick. Or maybe it's a I
don't know's, it's a a Sam Darnold, it's a who knows?
You tell me. Where do they go from here?

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Well, today was a turbulent day, but it was trending
in this direction in New York. So they cut Daniel
Jones or he's released based on his ask. But I'll
tell you when they went to the Veto and they
went over to Veto over Daniel Jones and Drew Locke.
There are a lot of peopeople in the buildings shruggering
their shoulders, but the way the front office sees it
and the way that the head coach sees it and

(01:16):
the coaching staff. He's three and thirteen since he was
inked to that new deal. They're one in five in
one score games. They've lost five straight games. Daniel Jones
don't a lot of turnovers, so they figured benching Daniel
Jones wasn't going to be the most criminal thing in
the world. The reaction seemed to be overblown about the benching,
and then you know, Daniel Jones, to his credit, was like,

(01:38):
all right, let me know what I can do, how
I can help. I'll be in the quarterbacks room. Tell
me what I could do. And they're basically like, he's like,
all right, can I play scout team? Can I play
defense on scout team? And the risk of him getting
injured and then be on the hook for twenty five
million dollars if he got injured at practice whatever. They
basically said, can you just let's just chill, Let's go
with these guys. And at that point it was like,

(02:00):
all right, I'm not coming in here just to hold
a clipboard and sit. I gotta be able to play.
So Daniel Jones gonna go out and now look he
might still have a place to go this season. Daniel
Jones story is interesting because remember we saw Baker Mayfield
get released mid season, ends up with the Rams, wins
a Thursday night game, wins the game on Christmas, and
then has a chance to kind of revitalize his career
before free agency. Maybe that's Daniel Jones this year. Your

(02:21):
question about the quarterback position. It's amazing what a difference
can make from a few different plays. Like last year,
Tommy DeVito won three games, they were meaningless in the end,
he beat the Packers on Monday Night and we had
him and his agent and his dad doing the whole thing.
If they don't win those games, they probably have Drake
may or Jaden Daniels right now is their quarterback in

(02:41):
New York. And if you watched the Hard Not Show,
Joe Shane was very open about calling those teams, both
Washington and New England to see if they can move up.
Neither one of those gms was willing to make the deal.
I would look at the draft and I would look
long and hard at Shdor Sanders. I would look long
and hard at cam Ward. I would think You've got
a lot of different names that are popping up now.

(03:03):
Is like the third and fourth type quarterbacks. The Giants
are gonna cast a wide net. They're gonna look at
all of these guys now. Drew Lock is on a
one year deal. I wouldn't imagine he's starting for them
next year. Daniel Jones obviously is. Tommy DeVito is not
gonna get started next year Week one. So it's not
the quarterback draft it was last year, which is not
what Giants fans want to hear when they had the
six pick and they didn't get a quarterback. But there

(03:23):
is still some talent in this draft, and we still
have the Senior Bowl, the East West Shrine Game, and
then of course we have the Combine where these guys
can shoot up the charts. But the early names Schador, Sanders,
Carson Beck, cam Ward, and I don't.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
The old mis kid Jackson Dart is intriguing. Came out
of USC in your backyard, and he's a name that's
that's being talked about. But it'll be interesting what happens
with the draft this year, because it's not that Caleb Daniels,
Drake May those are three studs coming out of the
drafts not that this year.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
All right, Mike McCarthy, Dion Sanders, Michael Irvin breaks the story,
its sores, Dion would take it? What did you make
of that? How did that land in NFL circles?

Speaker 3 (04:04):
It landed like, Hey, this is a real viable coach.
What he's done at Colorado is no joke, and what
he's done as a player to have the credibility. Now,
the question is when you bring in Dion, is your
owner going to be comfortable if Dion's the face of
the team. And I say that specifically about those guys now,
I know that they obviously have a rich tradition and

(04:25):
history together Jerry and Dion, And of course I go
back to the commercial where Dion was on the golf
court with him in like nineteen ninety five, a training
camp with Jerry doing an ad long history. Is Jerry
Jones willing to see the spotlight Dion Sanders because Dion
takes a backseat to nobody owner included. I thought that
was really cool that Michael Evan revealed that and where
he revealed that take a lot of pride in that

(04:47):
where part of that story. It's really cool. It would
have to be Jerry willing to hand over a lot
of responsibility, a lot of microphones and a lot of
spotlight to a head coach, which has not been the
case since Bill Parcels was there.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Ye, Rex Ryan, I'm the only one on the planet.
I think Rex Ryan to the Jets has to be
taken seriously. He is a Jet, He's an Alpha. We
all laughed at Dan Campbell Biden the kneecap stuff. It
has absolutely worked. Vrabels and Alpha, Tomlins and Alpha. As
the NFL gets younger, these guys that come in with
a big chip and big confidence and are loud, don't

(05:20):
just brush him off. Rex Ryan any shot to be
a Jet coach. You know he got along with Woody Johnson.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
He did. And you're not the only one who's rallying
around Rex Ryan. Rex Ryan's rallying around Rex Ryan. He's
through a bit of a media tour right now and
I appreciate it. I really do. He goes on barstool,
he's talking about how he wants to be the coach
of the New York Jets. I think it's been really
interesting here. Rex Ryan's not out there saying I want
to be an NFL coach again. He's not saying I
want to be a coach at the Bears, and he's

(05:47):
not saying I want to be a coach of the Cowboys.
Rex Ryan is saying something that does carry away in
New York.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Yeah, I want to.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Be coach of the New York Jets, specifically that team,
and I think I can be the coach now. I
would challenge that. Rex Ryan, a couple of years removed
now from being a coach and he was in Buffalo
after New York, would have to assemble a really good
staff and he would have to have a really good
offensive coordinator, defense court. Now, our guy, Sean Payton took
the year off and worked at Fox with us. It

(06:14):
was one year and I watched as Sean was watching
games and was reaching out to contact and was questioning me,
was asking me do I know this young guy on
this staff? Hey? What do you know of this guy?
And when Sean Payton came back, he was like, Davis
Webb's going to be on my staff. Davis Webb, who
had been in the NFL recently, Vance Joseph's going to

(06:35):
be on our staff. Ironically interviewed Rex Ryan, but Sean
was doing the work the whole I would ask that
it's Rex coming back because he's like the kool aid
man and wants to barge through and storm the castle
and be like, Hey, we're coming in and I'm going
to come in with bluster. Where does Rex have a
plan with? Here's my staff, Here's how we're going to
build this thing. Here's some of the young coaches in
the league that I can recruit. That's going to play

(06:55):
a role. But you better believe that in that building,
you said I want to be coach to the New
York Jet. It's not just I want to be an
NFL coach again. That matters.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Yeah, No, I think I think there's I think it's
got legs. I really do. It really is this weekend
and Shregs. I had said before the season, I thought
Dallas and the Niners had peaked and a pull back.
I didn't think they'd fall off a cliff Dallas has.
I do think it brought pretty plays. It's kind of
put a fence around the team. I think they'll play

(07:24):
really well in Green Bay for Shregs, they look like
control all delete, reboot, sabbatical. The San Francisco team shregs.
They're getting old, they're beat up. If they lose this weekend,
I feel like they got to take a swing and
do something. They got to make a big move. What
do you think it is?

Speaker 3 (07:45):
If they lose, they'll be five and six yep, having
lost to all three division opponents, and they've got five
of their last seven games on the schedule against teams
with winning records. It's not the same team that came
into Lambeau a few years ago on a Saturday night
in upset Aaron Rodgers, and they had a giant boombox
and they came bumping into from the locker room and
they pushed him around and Trent Williams was running in

(08:06):
motion and just knocking guys out. It's not that team anymore. Now.
Bosa has a hip injury and an oblique injury. I'll
rely on Kevin Burkhart and Tom Brady to tell me
where they're at on Sunday and whether they're good to go.
But I would say, you look at that, You look
at Purty obviously injured. You look at Trent Williams, who's
been battling injuries and who knows if he's gonna go

(08:28):
kittle miss last week Like this, This is what happens
when you've got a team in over five years, they
go to the Super Bowl, in the NFC Championship game
every year. At some point, these guys do get older
and it's not just hey, rally around the troops. But
if ever there was a game. They have owned owned
the Packers in recent years and they have gone into

(08:48):
that building on playoff games, and Shanahan was was Matt
Leafleur's boss for many years, and his father before him
was his boss as well. Like, if ever there was
a game that these veterans look at each other and say, Hey,
you know what, if we want to be out of
this thing before Thanksgiving or we want to go on
a run, it's this one. I'm not trying to just
hype this up because it's on Fox and it's such
a big game for us. I honestly feel like this

(09:10):
could be do or die and it could be the
end of the dynasty in the end of this era,
and it would be such a shame if it went
out in the whimper this season because there was so
much expectation going into this year.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
Sundays, eleven am on Fox Fox NFL Kickoff. I used
to be on that show and they booted me to
the curb and they put a real pro in there.
Peter Schrager a glown up, an adult who knows stuff.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Miss you, dude, We miss you.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
I miss you, guys. It's great, say anybody, nice work,
Peter Schroger, Giants, Jets, Rex, Ryan Dion Sanders, San Francisco.
I'm telling you that Niner Packer game that's a late
game with Arizona Cline is a good late window? Is
that in your picks? J Mac?

Speaker 5 (09:51):
Can I just not reveal them? We do what's called
the teas in the industry, you're familiar with those. I
don't know. I can't recall, sir.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
If in the industry it's called the teas. Yeah, I've
heard about this.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
You're you're aware of that?

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Yeah, one more heard. The Herd streams twenty four hours
a day, seven days a week within the iHeartRadio app.
Search Herd to listen live or on demand whenever you like.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Jay mack on a Bender Today with the news is
the Herdline News. I still don't think you're over last
night's lost. You're still cranky all day?

Speaker 5 (10:27):
Just down, yeah, just down the dumps. You know who
else is down in the dumps? Daniel Jones. There's a
seguey here we go. Daniel Jones obviously released by the
Giants today. Well, Brian Dable just met the media moments
ago and addressed the situation. Here's the head coach on
Daniel Jones again.

Speaker 6 (10:45):
I'll keep the well my reactions. We had a really
really good talk Daniel and I got a lot of
respect for him. Again, not the way we wanted it
to turn out by any stretch, but he's been nothing
but a pro since I've been here.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
With him and a young man.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
He will be a top three backup in the league,
top three or four. I absolutely believe.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
Let's name a couple of teams. He could go to.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Rams, Garoppolo and Stetson Bennett. They got an old quarterback, Rams.
I think you're suggesting earlier was excellent.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Vikings.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Vikings, they move off Sam Darnold. Get something for Sam Darnell.
Maybe is he a free agent.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
He's a free agent.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Okay, So I think I think Daniel Jones backing up
JJ McCarthy was coming off an injury. Vikings Rams By
the way McVeigh and Kevin O'Connell, there are probably things
they like about him. He moves well, size, nice guy.

Speaker 5 (11:35):
Niners we would agree.

Speaker 6 (11:36):
Uh maybe.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
No, I don't think the Niners is a bad call.
That's a pretty good callers.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
I was gonna say, Seattle.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
That's another good call. You are a hummon. You may
be bitter today, but you're humming.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
I'm just trying to you know, as a gamble, you
try to get in the heads of what's going on
in the locker room. And just the messaging coming out
of the Giants this week is so bad. Will they
be flat and get crushed or will they rally around
the coach and step it up? And I kind of
lean towards Tampa here, and I'm well full confession. I
had the Giants as one of the headlines, and I

(12:12):
once the news came out and I saw no Molik
neighbors at practice today. No, I've had to bank the producers.
Can we pull it?

Speaker 1 (12:17):
They said, sure, we'll hook you up. So we're not
doing Giants. It's I think Tampa's the side. Tampa's planned
for more at this point in the season. What do
you plan for. That's why I like the Niners this weekend.
It's the season. It's literally the season. Queen Bay can
lose and still make the place.

Speaker 5 (12:33):
We're seeing players quit on coaches and teams. I don't
know if Dable can can get out of this. That's
why I think he could be in some trouble.

Speaker 6 (12:40):
Dude.

Speaker 5 (12:41):
Next up Kansas City Chiefs. Tough loss last week for
Patrick Mahomes. However, he is saying it was a good
learning experience for wide receiver Xavier Worthy, the rookie. Here's
what Mahomes said. I think more than anything, you saw
the confidence that he was playing with. You could tell
he has more confidence in himself than that he can
do within the offense. Whenever he's playing, confident in not thinking.

(13:03):
He played fast and hard for people to account for
just how fast he is. I'm excited for him. I
thought that was a good jump off point. Okay, So
now Mahomes said all that about Xavier Worthy, I would
like to point out he had four catches against Buffalo.
They were all on one drive. The rest of the game,
Worthy did nothing.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Yeah. I remember in the first game when he made
a big catch and everybody was banging on me because
I said, he's just a gadget guy. He is just
a gadget, that's all. I talked to two executives about him.
I didn't love him as a first round pick, but
I thought the end of the first round is no
man's land, so you never know what you get end
of the first round. I think for I think for
them there's a little Tyreek Hill where he's just faster
and you can play him downhill. He's not Tyreek Hill.

(13:40):
I think he works. You know, they thought they were
gonna have Hollywood Brown. They got Juju Smith Schuster. So
I think their receiving cord last three years has been
a work in progress. And I think he's a nice
element to have. Like if you went to a Super
Bowl and you had two weeks to prepare Xavier Worthy packaging,
so he would be absolutely indispensable. You would have two
gadget He's a deep ball. There'll be moments when he matters.

(14:03):
They just maybe in January. In February.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
That's a good point. We saw on the screen six touchdowns,
leads the team and he's a gadget guy. I think
I see a little Jamison Williams, you know, for the Lions,
who's pretty limited, but on a reverse, you know, a
half back pass or some.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Way, when you are the Lions or the Chiefs, you
can have a player that isn't a volume player. I
remember when the Seahawks were in that little mini dynasty
and they got Percy Harvin. He barely played, but he
was available. I think in the Super Bowl he was
a luxury. Percy Harvin is the kind of guy you
could go pay for because you had a stack roster
full of young guys you weren't paying.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
Now here's where Worthy could get unlocked. Pachecko and he's practicing.
I don't know if he's gonna play this week. And
jujusm Schuster slowly working back. He played a little last week.
You know, I don't think we're see Rice is coming back,
but Hollywood Brown put out some cryptic message about being
close to return. So now if you're like, oh shucks,
we got Juju Pachecko and Hollywood Brown back, then worthy.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Are we sure we're not getting Rashi Rice back?

Speaker 5 (14:59):
I don't think they're that's a good one. I don't know,
but as of now, we don't.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
You imagine if back from the Super Bowl forget it,
it's over.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
Somebody beat him before then. Anyways, let's go to the
final story. And there was some controversy at the end
last night, at the end the hail Mary. Here's if
you look at the screen. Uh, George Pickens, the talented
receiver for Pittsburgh, got got kind of tangled with Brown's
corner Greg Newsom and they got into a scuffle in
the end zone. After the game, Pickens said he didn't

(15:26):
think the Browns were a good football team and said
they only lost that stealers only lost because of the weather.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
I just keep grinding.

Speaker 5 (15:33):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (15:34):
Like I said, conditions played a huge, huge part in
today's game.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
I don't really think the Cleveland Browns are the team
at a mucket.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
I think the conditions kind of savan today.

Speaker 5 (15:43):
He's not wrong, he's not wrong. At the same time, listen,
Pickens is a bit of a wild man.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Oh yeah, if you're.

Speaker 5 (15:50):
Throwing a hail Mary. He made zero effort to get
in the scrum. And he's a great jumper.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
No, he's to get a guy.

Speaker 5 (15:54):
He's like battling someone.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Yeah, he's a huge talent, but he's undisciplined. Yeah, not
terribly sell, but he's a great talent.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
You know, the Steel has got rid of one of
those guys last year, Deontay Johnson. Remember he was supposed
to be running routes and he's like.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
But here's the thing. Everybody knew the story on Pickens
when they drafted it. Everybody knew the story. This was
not a surprise. That's why he's good enough to be
a number one pick in the draft. He's at talented. No, yeah,
everybody knew that.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
The story in college with him too, he was like
a five star.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
He's in all time. I mean, he's in that Randy
Moss Calvin Johnson where he's just physically impossible to guard
one on one. He's an unbelievable talent. But Calvin Johnson mature,
you know, stability, Randy was. Now, Randy's probably the best
pure prospector received I've ever seen. But but George is
really talented, and everybody in the world knew it, like

(16:42):
there was no I mean, listen, it was. I think
he was a five star high school guy. He's unguarded.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
Where's your head at?

Speaker 1 (16:46):
When Russell? First of all, here's one thing I always say,
I got silver hair, you know, right, these are all
twenty one year olds, twenty three years.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
No, no, no, come on their young kids. It's a hail Mary.
You run this in practice. Go to the football.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Somebody got somebody got in his and he gets all
fired up, and.

Speaker 5 (17:01):
Well, you know that's good. Everybody knows the book is
on pickings. Now getting his ear start chirping. He's gonna
end up getting a fifteen yard penalty or do something dumb.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
That's the book on you.

Speaker 5 (17:10):
Oh cure, cold blooded?

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Where did that come from? Just chirp and all of
a sudden, you'll start hoisting threes when you just need
a buck.

Speaker 5 (17:16):
Talking about pickens and I'm catching straight's over here. Gosh,
that is heart.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Poor Jmack with the news.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Well that's the news, and thanks for stopping by The
Herd Line News.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
All right, j Max got his picks. We'll wrap it
up next. Didn't that lie the hurt?

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
and Noone Easter nine em Pacific.

Speaker 5 (17:35):
Don't miss your chance to win free cast prizes playing
Fox Super six sponsored by DraftKings. Go to the Fox
Sports app to make your picks. One of the questions
is which running back will have the most rushing yards, Colin,
who you got, Jonathan Taylor versus the Lions, Jamior Gibbs
versus Colts, Josh Jacobs versus the Niners, and Seamac.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Christian McCaffrey at the Packers has a very, very, very
interesting He's had one hundred yards first two games. By
the way, if we talked earlier today, there's a lot
of talk this week about Prime Time to the Cowboys.

(18:17):
Shady McCoy came on earlier. I just wanted I thought
it was very interesting. Here is Shady on Dion Sanders
to the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 7 (18:28):
He had to get this coaches in there. He had
to get some more players in there, and now look
at him. They're what ty for first in the Big Twelve,
potentially could be in the playoffs. All he does is
changed everywhere. He plays at really good coach. The one
thing I think about him is like a guy like
Andy Ree would make him so special. Everybody's gonna tell
you about the x's and o's, which he is the
best at that, but he can relate to these players.

(18:48):
He mikes everybody. I don't care what your background is,
what your race is, whatever you believe in. He makes
everybody love being part of the team as a family.
Andy ree can adjust. He's been in so many different
areas of footb. Well be he going to adjust? That's
who Dan Sanders is.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Yeah, I mean I think it's it's active. I think
it's active. All right. Here we go every week at
this time, and let's begin tomorrow. Headlines today Cowboys big
underdog at the Commanders on Fox.

Speaker 5 (19:22):
Yeah, I thought you had a lay up here. For
some reason, you took it out of the Blazing five. Colin,
this is Locke City. The headline. Well, B does a
bear coop in the woods? Boy stink, no question. Sorry,
I'm all over Washington in here. We joked that this
is kind of called the widow maker spot where Washington
is off extra rest having played last Thursday. Meanwhile, Dallas

(19:43):
played on Monday. I'm just checking injury reports. Colin, looks
like two starters on the offensive line down for Dallas.
We know that's not good. Ceedee, Lamb didn't practice yesterday.
It's like Jake ferguson the tight end. He's got a concussion. Colin,
I smell quit in the Dallas Cowboys and now Dan
Quinn defensive coordinator last year in Dallas. He knows Cooper

(20:03):
Rush really well. He's now the head coach in Washington.
I think Washington puts it on him here. Would not
be surprised that this was a little embarrassing, like thirty
seven to ten, something like that. Washington going crazy. I'm
worried about Dallas and Jerry Jones talking about his next
head coach. Maybe in the media this week. It's all
not good for the Cowboys right now.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Tomorrows headlines after that Lions at the Colt. I love
indian this spot. What say you?

Speaker 5 (20:30):
Yeah, it's a phenomenal game call. Very excited for it.
The headline well be Shane's World, Shane's World. Party time excellent. Yes,
I'm with you. Give me the Indianapolis Colts. I did
sprinkle a little on the money line here, would not
surprise me. Now, the Lions the last three seasons have
been the best covering team in the league against the spread.

(20:52):
They're a machine. The public's all over them, so anytime
you bet them now you're paying a tax. Collin. They're inflated.
And this is a Colts team third best record against
the spread. Anthony Richardson quietly six and one against the spread,
He's a covering machine. And I do think this Detroit defense,
this Azeloni their middle linebacker loss, he's very good, leads
him and tackles for loss. Kind of their green dot

(21:13):
calls the place. He's out and now it's like, okay,
well the run game when Jonathan Taylor can get unlocked
with Richardson, I got some questions about the Detroit back
end of the defense. Haven't played anybody great lately. That
Green Bay game was in the snow. I like your
colts call. I'm with you, Indy plus seven and a half,
and I think they could win this outright.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
Tomorrows headlines today will be tasty. My Arizona Cardinals at
Seattle on Fox, underrated TV.

Speaker 5 (21:41):
Game, sneaky good as they call it. I don't Seattle
has not been good to me this year. However, the
headline will be decaf Metcalf, Arizona fully roasted. I'm going
with Seattle. I know Arizona's off the by and all
this excitement about the division. I just what I saw
from Seattle against Sanfray. Defensively, you're paying a lot more man. Okay,

(22:03):
that is not a kryptonite for Kyler Murray, but he's
much better against his own defense because you want to
keep Kyler in front of you. Does that mean this
is a big run game for Kyler? We'll see. McDonald's
been tinkering with the linebackers, but their cornerbacks are excellent
if you can man up McBride and Harrison and then
contain Connor in the run game. I think Arizona struggles.
I think this is an undergame, low scoring. And keep

(22:26):
an eye on the weather. The bomb cyclone you keep referencing.
I don't even know what that is, by the way,
but the weather does not look good in Seattle. I
think that hurts Arizona. Give me the Seahawks here.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
So in two different streams, one from the south meets
one the Polar Express. Oh you get a cyclone.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
Bomb bomb cyclone Polar Express. All right, yeah, thank you?

Speaker 1 (22:45):
All right. Tomorrow's headlines today is going to be at
this game for reporting Ravens at the charger.

Speaker 5 (22:54):
Reporting with multiple adult beverages. There's the Hard Bowl they're
calling it, right, you might be there. I think you
should check it out. Monday Night Football. The headline, Well,
b you're not the hard boss of me. Jim Bess,
big bro I talked about it earlier. I like this
fact of JK. Dobbins, Gus the Boss, Greg Roman. A
lot of members of that offense, Yeah, are looking for

(23:16):
revenge on the Ravens. They know Baltimore's defense well, and
the Baltimore defense ain't great. You gotta watch Kyle Hamilton
on the injury report, Colin. If he's out, that back
end is gross. And Rowan Smith was dinged up last game.
Hopefully he returns for Baltimore. I just think this Chargers
team is still being slept on a little bit, you know.
I think it was I don't know if it was
a Chiefs game, but they played them so tough. I
was like, this team's got something. And I know they

(23:38):
had a tough lost to Arizona. But I'm a firm
believer in Jim Harbaugh and Herbert and I think the
better quarterback wins. I like the Chargers to win a
high scoring game, and I think that's when we start
asking about Damn Lamar Jackson's not winning the biggest games.
He's not delivering in the playoffs. Oh, let's just hand
him another MVP. And Colin, if they lose this game,

(24:01):
we're gonna start hearing about Lamar, because it's always blaming
someone else. Well, he didn't have receivers. We got to
say Flowers, we got Odell, couldn't win in the playoffs. Well,
now we don't have a defense. Okay, fine, Well Lamar's
got a great offense. Colin at at some point, Lamar's
gonna have to win a big game in a big spot,
and he has not done that.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
Tomorrow's headlines Fine, the Hoosiers at number two Ohio State
on farkay, they.

Speaker 5 (24:25):
Wanted to bump this game, big college football game, obviously,
the biggest of the weekend, big game for Fox, Big
Noon is there. The headline will be terminate IU Judgment Day. Obviously.
I'm a big Terminator two fan. Ryan Day delivers. But
I think it's a close game. And you've kind of
been on this a little bit. Ohio State's offensive line
is an issue. Clatt talked about it earlier this week.

(24:47):
I'm on the over here. I think we'll see points.
But I do have some concerns for Ryan Day because
he's been a little spotty. You know that Oregon loss
was rough. I know the fans don't love him, but
I think Ryan Day delivers here. Sets up in Ohio
State Michigan game next week. But Indiana is going to
keep it close, and I think they're firmly going to
be in the playoff mixed despite this loss.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
By the way, here's their coach, Kurt Signetti on facing
the most talented team in the Big Ten. Had a
number of.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
Nice road wins obviously.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
I mean, look, we got a group of guys and
coaches that have.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
Won twenty four out of their last twenty five games,
so we don't have a confidence problem. I look at
maybe one time at Elon, we really good football team
were four and one, had lost to an FBS team,
went to JMU, they had won about twenty five in
a row at home.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
Somehow we're thirty eight point hundred dogs.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
I have no idea how. And you know we walked
out there as a winner, So you know, it's a
football game, one play at a time. Got EXQ. Whoever
plays best wins pretty cot.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
He is not, nor is his team at all intimidated.

Speaker 5 (25:55):
Yeah, they got a bunch of twenty three year olds
all over their team. They got experienced kids. It's gonna
be a tough one for Ohio State. I know the
lines come down. Remember thirteen and a half down to ten,
we'll see buck guys can't lose this game. Obviously that
would be bad.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
But by the way, if Ryan Day lost, and you know,
they don't have a ton of perspective in Columbus, would
Chip Kelly be viewed best friends with Ryan Day as
the next coach? Chip Kelly, I bet you would be
hard to turn down.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
They got a lot of talent on that team.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Yes, there's no question they recruit. There's about three schools
in the country Texas, Ohio, State, Georgia, maybe Alabama. They
just recruited a different lump.

Speaker 5 (26:35):
And the problem is like getting motivated for Indiana. When
was the last time they were good? What have they
ever been this good? I mean, you gotta go back decades.
The young kids, all they know is Indiana is a
basketball school, you know. So I have some concerns about
High State. I do think they get the dub though.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
They got a little Oregon to them. They spread you out,
they're very fast, they got a little Oregon.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
We got a producer from Texas on the show to saying,
be careful for your Longhorns weekend because Texas, Texas, A
and M is next week. And that's a huge gamey
Texas has to win, and Texas and facing like Kentucky
this week. You know Kentucky gave Georgia fits well.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
The Georgia's O line does not match up well generally
with good D lines.

Speaker 5 (27:16):
There's some sleeper ish games.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
This weekend Saturday is going to be really interesting.

Speaker 5 (27:20):
Yeah, we're at the point where, like, if you lose,
it's kind of an elimination game from the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Same in the NFL. Like that. That's why I keep saying,
go look at the NFL schedule. If you look at
the Niners Packers, it's over for San Francisco. Because in
the NFC, Detroit's winning their division and Green Bay and
Minnesota are almost If they win this weekend, they are
locked in. This is the season for the forty nine ers,
which is why if Brock Purty plays, I.

Speaker 5 (27:44):
Like them and Buffalo next week Niners Buffalo.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
So this is it.

Speaker 5 (27:48):
This is the season, fully rested.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
You know, give me your upset. I do this every week.
I ask you at the end of the show, give
me one upset.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
I don't have the intestina. I like Colts Carolina. Yeah, yeah, Colts.
Obviously I'm with you on that.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
Keep your eye I don't think they'll win. Keep your
eye on New England making Miami a little uncomfortable. It's
a division rivalry game like last night. You know you're
a touchdown dog. You know know everybody's binks your season's over.

Speaker 5 (28:18):
I haven't checked the weather in that we expecting like
nineties and.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
They'll be fine. I just when I watched the Rams
Patriots last weekend. My take is Drake May's legit and
Girrod Mayo's got that defense. They get degenerate in some
pass rushter. It's an interesting team. Interesting You better quarterback.

Speaker 5 (28:35):
In that game, Drake May Or toa to right now?
Better quarterback in two years? Pay Drake may By the way,
did you get any fallout from your Bonix take yesterday?
Any of your friends hit you up or anything?

Speaker 1 (28:48):
Why it was?

Speaker 3 (28:49):
It was?

Speaker 1 (28:49):
What pretty good take? Yeah it was. I'll admit it
was backed up with data and facts.

Speaker 5 (28:58):
But bonicksdaleing hurts you.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Hey, listen, I said that was a close one, That
one went down to the wire. I could have had
see I had I had three or four pieces of
neurogum yesterday, And sometimes when you take it, that first
pop of electricity to your mind may have moved me,
you know it just I was so dynamic yesterday.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
I'm sure you didn't accidentally stick your finger in a
light socket or something.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
Did not neurogum and a red Bull. It's a new
way to live.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
Red Bull
