Speaker 3 (00:22):
Sho.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Hey. Otani apparently donated five hundred thousand dollars to the
LA Wildfire relief.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Now, I have to make it very clear.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
I'm never the guy that wants to spend other people's
money or that's telling people what they should do with
their money. I don't like that and rubs me the
wrong way and say, well, what did you do?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Are you donating anything?

Speaker 1 (00:46):
But when you're making almost a billion dollars probably more
when all said and done playing baseball in Los Angeles,
and you want fans to embrace you, and you just
won a World Series, you'll think for optic Rea. Since,
as the millennials say, the we.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Neils aesthetic reasons aesthetics.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
He couldn't have just made it a million dollars five
hundred thousand.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I don't know how did his parlays do last weekend?
Now you got exactly funny.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
I mean, you got Beyonce, you got Taylor Swift dropping
big money people donating. It's better than nothing, and it
is very generous. So I'm not talking out of both
sides of my mouth. But what I am saying is
a million would have sounded a hell of a lot
better coming from the highest paid dude in baseball, in sports,

(01:35):
in sports, Shohil Tani. Let me tell you, am I
wrong for saying that? Because that is the vibe A
little bit. I'll tell you a bit, but'll tell you
why because I wrote to you on our show notes today.
I texted, you know, first thing in the morning.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
That's precious.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
After I wrote good.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Morning, sweetheart, Yeah, good morning beautiful, I said, it's weird.
It's weird that he texted me when all he has
to do is is shake my show.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Yeah, roll over, you know, roll yeah, and uh, I.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Wrote to Como this morning after good morning, dumpling buns.
Fans are dumb. They're mad he only donated five hundred thousand.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
I know, I know that sounds mock me. What do
we do as a show.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
We donated a couple hundred dollars to a couple of
places that meant something to us, and you know, donate
a couple bucks.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
If you can. This guy donated a half.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
A million dollars. J O's are like, whole troop skate,
get heady?

Speaker 5 (02:29):
What is that?

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Do the math though? What's a half a million for
a guy that's making about a billion?

Speaker 5 (02:34):
You didn't read the whole story though, I never do.
Danny Show, don't be surprised. Show Hey deferred two million
dollars of the donation.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Eight Oh, that was really nice.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Honestly, they'll need it still then not everything is needed
up front.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
That's funny.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
You know it's uh so again, I know how it sounds,
and I don't want to be I don't want to
be that jerk on social media that piles on when
that guy's done nothing to help anybody. Sure again, you know,
spending other people's money. I don't want to be that guy.
But it does look a little lame when everybody knows
the type of money you're making. Come on, he couldn't

(03:13):
have coughed up a million dollars. A million dollars to
him is not that much for the city he plays for.
I get it because he represents Los Angeles of all
the teams in all the lands he could have played for,
he chose the Dodgers formerly of the Angels. Right down
the highway, He's I think generous are doing? Had all

(03:34):
setting done, Spencer Pratt is going to be given back
more than sho hal Tani.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Is Los Angeles. How does that make sense? Think about it.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
A reality TV star will probably be end up giving
more to La than Shoetani, who's making a billion out
I did.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
I did the math, okay, because it's a game of
the math.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
It's a game of percentages and like decimal points, and
that's really difficult to figure out in my brain. But
this would be like, let's say you made an even
number one hundred thousand dollars, okay, which is like pretty
good salary. But if you made one hundred thousand dollars,
this would be the equivalent of you donating donating fifty
dollars to the city of Los Angeles, which is generous
for someone that makes one hundred thousand dollars, I think,

(04:16):
So think about it that way, But this is a
guy that makes almost a billion fifty dollars, so it
h is kind of weak.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
But think about it.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
You would you Look, if five hundred thousand dollars to
us is a lot of money to him, it's not.
And that's how you have to view it. So I
understand how it appears for people to be like, man,
that's all, but it really is kind of weak.

Speaker 6 (04:36):
You could what about everybody else that plays in La
Sorry spot a follow like Lebron James. I just wanted
to double check that I didn't miss anything. I'm like,
did Lebron James donate anything? No, not that we know of,
you know.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
What, shame on him if he hasn't.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
But guys like Lebron, guys like show Hey, Premiere, prominent
dudes that run this city should lead by example in
that way. You know, you can't just take take take
from the city and not give back. We did a
story recently where the city of Los Angeles, who put
on or who had to support the parade to celebrate
the Dodgers World Series Championship, spent two million dollars on

(05:13):
just first responding personnel, police and fire to support the parade.
Two million dollars on this parade. So now it's time
to give back to the city.

Speaker 6 (05:22):
Don't they give back to the city by having a
team here that makes money and win.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Nobody listen.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
Also, the team paid back that two million time.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
I know they listen.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
I'm on, I'm on, uh not ka being us team. Sorry,
dumpling buns.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
Dan Byron, you're going to sleep on the couch.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Let me let me tell you this. I You're gonna
have to cook your own dinner tonight.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
I'm telling you. Monsey said it. And I was about
to get there until I.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
See every prominent celebrity athlete, social media influencer emptying their pockets.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Why why you gotta be a follower, lead by example?
But what you can't say?

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Otani only donated half a million dollars Until I see
Clayton Kershaw, Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
None of them amount of money? That why Leonard? Yeah,
but even if they donated.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
A couple hundred thousand dollars, I think they should anything
I do think they should. And what did you always
what do we always joke about? When I rebuilt my
house here a couple of years ago, should have made
it a smart home like Spot. Absolutely Spot was the
best MANZI at spending my money.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
I love doing it. I you know what I would
have done.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
I would have opened up that wall and uh, you know,
done those sliding huge doors. I'm like, yes, but that
would have been an extra one hundred thousand dollars. Well,
I also would have it's easy to spend other people's money.
Yeapot has a good taste, though. I do think Shoheyo
Tani has all these sponsorships from not only here in
the States, but overseas in Japan. Every I was in Japan,

(06:50):
his face was everywhere in certain cities. You don't think
he could have had someone else match his five hundred
thousand dollars to make it a million, to set the precedents,
to make an impact, to do something right. Look, dude,
I think it's generous, I really do. But I also
think it would have looked a hell of a lot
better if it was a million. That's all I'm saying,
And that is part of the story today. He donated

(07:11):
five hundred thousand dollars to La wildfire relief. That's nice.
It would have been nice if he doubled that.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
I don't even know if that's true.

Speaker 6 (07:17):
Cavino, he would have donated a million, and you would
have sat here and you would have been like, only
a million, you have a.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Five hundred thousand. Kind of guys.

Speaker 7 (07:24):
Guys, listen, Beyonce's foundation gave two and a half million,
just saying yeah, just saying two and a half million.

Speaker 5 (07:32):
Bay founda and.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
You know what, And and you're all hypocrites.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Everybody pretend that if you're not going to a wedding,
you're not trying to match everybody else. If Beyonce gave
two point five, of course we're gonna compare it to show. Hey,
show he's a billionaire. He only gave five hundred thousand.
Rich at your wedding. You are saying, man, Covino only
gave me this, and this guy gave me that. People
always compare, Hey, we're going to a party, would you
give them? That's just how it works. So we're gonna

(07:59):
speculate on what, oh he did. That's what people do.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
That is what people do. I just think people never
are never satisfied.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
They're not and the expectation of.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
Otani is always just going to be never satisfied.

Speaker 6 (08:08):
And I'm just like, are we holding this the accountable
for everybody?

Speaker 2 (08:14):
He's still I think he's a chief case.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Can't call some skate, You can't call them to chief
skate when they just donated half a million dollars to anything.
We just broke down how little that is in the
grand scheme of his income.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
But he doesn't have that income for another ten years.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
You know how many sponsorships, Like I said, let's hear it, spot,
I was going to say, fellow Dodger Freddie Freeman donated
one hundred thousand dollars as well as his wife donating
an additional one hundred thousand.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Dollars, like separately, separately.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
That's weird, different accounts, Maybe more questions about this.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Maybe it's a tax thing.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Who knows, but several Yeah, like Leo DiCaprio a million dollars.
J Lo donated, Like all of these people have donated
or have encouraged people to donate under like a some.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Sort of fun that they've created.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Listen, So everyone's doing something the right thing.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Should never be criticized.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Ten ten millions, I get it. Maybe compared to all right,
let's you know, I'm gonna bring this into it culturally,
for all we know, in Japan, when disasters happen, maybe
maybe there's a different take on it. Maybe he felt like,
for all you know, show woke up and he's like
five hundred thousand dollars.

Speaker 5 (09:22):
They get.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
There's an old Japanese saying that it's it's not about
the money, it's about what he maybe is, uh, you know,
in person and his presence moving forward, he'll be there
to help. Maybe there's a maybe there's a reason, like
a cultural reason, like you said, trying to think of things,
or maybe he's just tapped out from donating to all
the Godzilla disaster relief.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
No Japanese.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
I was waiting for a But.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
It's like stereotype goes on in Japan.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
Is we don't have a cpu voice that says stereotypical
this is the spot.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Try to backpedal. I'm leading into it. Hey I was
I stayed at the Godzilla hotel. They embraced that. It's
true anyway, So Tani, it's a story today. Judge for
yourself your thoughts at Covin and Rich.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
You could you could have an opinion and you could
have a thought on it without really being judging. I'm
not judging him, but I I you can't help but speculate,
that's all. I'm just speculating. I'm not judging. You're looking
in the collection basket.

Speaker 7 (10:32):
What you're doing, You're looking at the guy next putting
who's putting what in the collection basket at church?

Speaker 1 (10:37):
I mean because we have brains, right, That's why you're
not gonna scratch. You're not gonna be like five hundred
thousand huh.

Speaker 7 (10:42):
Really, you know what five hundred thousand dollars buys you
in l A A bunch of.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Nothing.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
As by the way, the only I'll back up Comedo
in this one regard, I was you a cameo from Shack.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
I just want to wish your today, Hey wait, a recovering.

Speaker 7 (10:58):
Birthday from given.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
I think you have to remember that LA is expensive
to own a home in LA minimum million dollars, minimum
minimum minimum million bucks. So maybe perspective wise, if you're
in uh, you know, Idaho or Iowa or you know,
and over.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Ten thousand houses were burnt down in one city.

Speaker 7 (11:21):
I know you don't know the difference between Idaho and Io.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
That's why you just set them together.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
You were like Idaho, I know Iowa Idaho. Idaho is
closer and potatoes, you just have a potato in your pants,
all right?

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Thank you?

Speaker 1 (11:35):
So your thoughts on Otani Cheapskate super generous. I think
everyone's going to be judging. I think the reality of
it is anyone that trust to donate and do a
good deed.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
It's like I always felt.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
This way when people would criticize, like the Kardashians and
certain people like you know, they do more good. You
may roll your eyes, but there's very eye rolling people
that still do charitable good things.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
And I find it hard to mock someone that took
five hundred thousand dollars a.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Year called right off, Eh, that's what people will say.
The guy to the writ of a bearded bonehead, spot hey,
spot present. He was calculating as if Otani was just
given seven hundred and seventy million dollars cash money, like
just right into his checking account.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Straight cash, straight cash. Homie is not what it is.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
So it's not as much as you think. But there
is something about reading the room. And I'll give this
guy to the writing meet credit Steve Cavino when you
go to a wedding, He's right, we'll ask each other
because Cavino and I people always consider we're in the
same tax bracket.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
We work together.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Yah, we're going to the way, what are you given
two hundred five hundred, What are you given?

Speaker 2 (12:43):
Yeah, let's not pretend we don't know how people act.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
So if I'm asking Kvino, what are you giving for
two hundred, five hundred, four hundred. If we're discussing that,
if he sees Beyonce given two and a half million,
if he sees other celebrities given a million, he should have, then.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Say, way, La, Beyonce's a text is curl. You know
what I mean?

Speaker 5 (13:02):
You know they're saying to Hi, right, hey, guys, really quick,
Bud in Austin. Couldn't stay on the line, but he's
trucking outside of Austin right now in a big rig.
You're down big rig. He's to let you guys know
that he he just read these numbers. In La County
there are forty three billionaires and two hundred and thirteen
thousand millionaires.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
That's disgusting.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
Present.

Speaker 7 (13:25):
Yeah, ten million people in Elle County, ten a million
people in La and a few after our next cut and.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
You're listening, here's a good count rich. Here's something to
support you. Actually, yeah, I guesslet's support too. Mark Zuckerberg.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
We all know Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Meta Facebook, whatever
his I just had to look up his net worth
two hundred and thirteen billion dollars. He only donated two
million of his personal money to the wildfire relief Deserves
and then Meta Miser, which is worth god knows how
many billions. Meta also donated two million dollars to various charities. Still,

(14:05):
I mean, it's still millions, but I know it's spot saying, well,
you ever see those calculations on Instagram or Facebook or.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Remember TikTok that Apple used to be around? Yeah, remember TikTok.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
I think it's still around for a second, for two
more days.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Yeah. You know when they would say, like, here's a million,
the difference between a million and a billion, Zuckerberg should
honestly be.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Donating like one hundred million dollars. What was it again?

Speaker 8 (14:24):
A million is eleven days and a billion is thirty
one years.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Yeah, ridiculous.

Speaker 8 (14:28):
It was like Rogan's show had that, yeah, and that
it was amazing.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
Blew my mind.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
So it's time we got five on it. You ready
to ruin some money? Yes, let's do this and I'm
gonna donate.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
Yeah. Starting starting last week, all of us on the
show are picking each NFL playoff game this postseason.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Wait, if you get your four to four, you're gonta
donate it. Yep, I'll donate it. I'll say here, it's
my city. There we go and a thousandaire.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
We are including one cn our listener each week this weekend,
John West, Palm Beach, we're gonna be looking at your
picks as well. Welcome to the show. Go on, what's up? John?
Here's what we did.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
We go around the room, we go over each game,
make a little chart. You pick all four games against
the spread. Last week six for six. I didn't anticipate
anyone hitting all six, but when I tell you, five
out of us were out after game one because we
all picked the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
So can we do a little better this week? We
try make it a little exciting.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
Yeah, thank you Texans.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
All right, let's go to the first game.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Divisional Weekend kicks off Saturday with the Texans at the Chiefs.
They've been rested, but how rested is he's a new dad?
Patrick Mahomes might be having those late nights that Danny
knows about babies crying.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Little Golden you know, Golden Ray.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
What's the line right now?

Speaker 1 (15:47):
We got Chiefs by eight and Danny g I'll start
with you, my man. What do you think Chiefs by
eight this Saturday?

Speaker 5 (15:54):
The Chiefs against the spread in twenty twenty four are
seven to nine and one. They do not do well
against the spread. And besides that, I picked the Texans
and won with them last weekend. So I'm gonna go Houston.
That's too many points.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Houston, Steve Covino, I'm going Chiefs on this. Well, it's
just when they, oh hey, chief defy the odds, and
this is when they play big and they score a
lot of points and put the Texans in their place.
Chief Rokka number one, Chief Raka Oh. I was so
torn going back and forth on this game because there's
a part of me that, you know, I feel like
I over used the phrase back door cover, but.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
I just feel like, where do you overuse it in
the bedroom?

Speaker 1 (16:35):
I just feel like this reeks of a game that's
you know, twenty to seven Chiefs and last minute as
a BS touchdown by Houston.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
You said that about the.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Buffalo Bill's Denver game and it didn't turn out that way.
I didn't, so you know what, they smoked them. I'm
gonna go Covino. My instinct originally was I'm loving CJ. Stroud,
but that's my heart. Travis Mahomes. They got something to prove,
Andy Reid. This is the playoffs. Playoffs, Yeah, this is
when they stepped they may kill the Texans.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
So I'm going Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
And you say that Mahomes is tired, I honestly think
like he's rejuvenated and excited about being a dad again.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
He's like, I did it for Golden Mahomes did it
for my daughter. Yeah, I have. He's all excited.

Speaker 5 (17:14):
Again, and I think he has baby puke on him
right now.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
The reality is play When you have a newborn, sometimes
you want to get out of the house.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Manzi, what do you think, buddy?

Speaker 6 (17:23):
This game is tough because both of you said stuff
that I also feel. But at the same time, Danny
g like, the Chiefs have been the Chiefs this year
and it hasn't been the best Chiefs team, barely winning
games literally doinking off of you know, the field goal
against the Chargers.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
Thank you so much, donk you very much? Do you
very much.

Speaker 6 (17:48):
I'm gonna take the Texans to call. I'm going to
take the Texans to cover. Chiefs win, Texans cover.

Speaker 7 (17:55):
Samuel gotta stay consistent here. I picked this same outcome
on the Doug Ot Show previously before cn R. I
will take the Chiefs to win, but the Texans plus
the points Texans.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
So you're saying Texans okay against the spread Texans?

Speaker 5 (18:09):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Cool?

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Thank you for me getting complicated? Spot what's up? Never
bet against the Chiefs. That's how how I live my life. Uh,
would you come up with ten seconds ago? Actually I did.
Mahomes just had his third kid. Why not have a
three peat? How about that? And I know for a
fact that Mahomes gave accolades to his wife not only

(18:30):
for pushing out the kid, but for letting him watch
football during the birth of their child, which means he's focused,
he's in the game, he's ready to go for this
week Chiefs win.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Are you saying he's motivated?

Speaker 1 (18:41):
How like in Rocky Too, Adrian had the baby? Y,
I get that far. I do nothing else to play for?
And John, we'll wrap with you West Palm Beach. What
do you think, Bud?

Speaker 3 (18:50):
All Right, fellas, I've got I'm gonna take Casey given
the eighth. I think it's going to be a twenty
four to ten game.

Speaker 5 (18:57):
I think Andy Reeds gonna out coach Dimiko.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Yeah, Bothka coaches, but Andy Reid's been there, done that
many times. All right, let's move it along.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Saturday Night Commandos. The Commanders formerly the Redskins. They've had
glory in our childhood. They haven't had glory in a while.
This is their first playoff of win last week in
what almost a decade. So Commanders going hot into Detroit,
where you know eminem is going to be on hand.
They got the rest, they're motivated. Fifteen and two, they're

(19:25):
favored by nine and a half. Let's start with Covino
nine and a half Lions. You know, Jayden Daniels is
so exciting, and it sounds and feels foolish to say
that the Lions are going to cover, But I think
they will because they're at home, and I think their
defense is strong enough to contain them. Thirty twenty covers
that that yeah scored, in my head stands out.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
I'm sticking with the Lions.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
Do you know what else stands out to me? Thirty
twenty three or an upset? I like the Commanders. I
think that fifteen and two. We've seen this before in
the playoffs. Record doesn't mean anything when you get to
this point, it's who's hot, who's playing well at the time,
So maybe maybe the Lions win, but they haven't played
in two weeks. They come back, I don't know. I'm
going I'm going uh Commanders to cover. You know, let's

(20:09):
go to John and West Palm. What do you think, John?

Speaker 3 (20:12):
I like Detroit. I think Dan Campbell, the way they play,
the getting healthy. I don't think James Daniels.

Speaker 9 (20:18):
Is gonna happen this year.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
I think you're gonna fizzle out.

Speaker 9 (20:21):
I'll take the Detroit lane the nine.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
And a half.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Let's good, a spotty boy, you know. I mean I
did pick the Lions to go the distance before the season,
and you saw a wicked last time. That's great, cowardly,
but there's nothing cowardly about these Lions. Will tell you
that much. I would, Yeah, I agree. I think I

(20:43):
think the Lions as much as I think the Commanders
are really pushing into the postseason.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
They're fun to watch, fun to watch.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
I do think that the Lions will edge out the spread,
So I'm gonna go with the lines. Yeah, Jayden Daniels
came through for me last week with my Commando's pick.
But you know, what the at home, especially the Lions
just too powerful of a team. I could see him
winning by like thirteen points. They score at will, And
now I'm second guessing my pick. No, I'm sticking with
the Commander's Mazi.

Speaker 6 (21:10):
I actually think the Commanders have been a team that
scores all season, like they're gonna score. You guys, the
Lions are gonna win, but nine and a half is
a lot. They'd have to win by ten. I don't
see that happening. I'm taking the Commanders against.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
The spread, and Iowa Samuel make it as confusing as possible.

Speaker 7 (21:25):
No, I'm just giving you the paper betting lingo. I think, yeah,
I will lay the points of the Lions there. That's
nine point.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
Fine, all right, let's move to Sunday this game. You know,
let's keep in mind from what I'm reading, and you
know me, I read headlines, so the accuracy is never
that you read cereal boxes and billboards. Listen, you're the
guy that sends me articles. I'm like, did you even
read this? The Rams are going to Philly and they're

(21:54):
saying it's gonna be cold and maybe snowy, so the
conditions could play a factor. And right now, we got
it at Philly minus six and a half. Eagles at
home Saquon in the snow, in the cold. They're saying
it's gonna be frigid. Let's start with Danny j.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
This is where the Rams momentum hits a wall. I
saw this stat this morning. The La Rams have not lost.
They haven't lost to the Eagles in the playoffs in
seventy five years. Wow, but I think that stops on Sunday.
So Eagles, I could see them definitely covering those points.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Monsey, what do you think?

Speaker 4 (22:32):
I think it's gonna be a tough game for the Rams.

Speaker 6 (22:35):
I read that Matthew Stafford and snow cold rain games
is one in eight, So I am taking the Eagles
to just win it.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
Yeah, buy more than seven.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Well, do you know what? I share your sentiments.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
I feel as though the Rams hot the second half
of the year. Again, I always say, don't look at
the record. Ten and seven means nothing. They started like trash,
they got hot. They played great in the second half,
as good as anyone in the NFC. But the party
stops in Philadelphia and the cult, it really does.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Yeah, So I'm going Eagles cover. And they went by
a Tuddy, they win the spread.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Yeah, Dan Camino, you know, guess what you bet against
the Rams last week and we're wrong about it, So
I wouldn't bet against them. Is to do it for Johnny. Mentality,
you go with the hot hand. I'm going Rams on this.
They're gonna have in. Yeah, they're clicking at the right time.
They played big. They're playing for La again. We proved

(23:31):
that when you have a little something extra to play for,
you step up. And they did that. Do it for Johnny,
for Johnny La. Let's go to john and West Palm. John,
what's your take on this one.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
I think it's gonna be low scoring game. I like
the Rams. I don't think it's going to be a
high scoring game. I think the Rams cover all right.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
I like it, Ye, spotty boy, I think you I
can only cash in that do it for Johnny card
once and I think they did it for Johnny.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
I think that that buck is run out. I like that,
you know.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
And and let's be honest, everyone's you know, Otani only
gave five hundred thousand.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
No one cares about that away anymore. Yeah, Sam, it's
it's over.

Speaker 5 (24:09):
I would say.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Birds will cover, Birds will cover, and Sammy, I will
take the Rams to cover.

Speaker 8 (24:17):
Eagles win Rams cover.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
Right now, I left this one for last, not only
because it's the last game of the week, but if
you think you have an instinct on this game, you're
lying to me, You're lying to yourself.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
You like to everyone.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
How can you look at this game and be like,
I'm very confident with the Ravens or the Bills.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
This is more of a who do you want to win?
And you know who's going to just play better that day.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
My instinct is that the Ravens are hot and they're
slightly better. But then when you throw in the fact
that it's in Buffalo, the Bill's Mafia home field, there's
that equalizes the little edge I would have given the Ravens.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
Right now, it's a pick them right now.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
Baltimore's minus one on the road, So the sentiment is
that you know, Ravens should win this game.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
I'm going Bills.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
I'm going with my heart because I do feel like
it's gonna be very hard for any team in the
NFL this year to stop the Ravens the way they're
playing now.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
But Josh Allen's gonna have a magical game. That's my vibe.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Let me go next before I forget my point here,
because you said it was a push. You said the
Ravens are more talented, but the Bills are at home.
The Ravens also have more to lose if they lose,
more at stake if they lose. Lamar Jackson MVP. He
has so much more to prove, I think by winning
this game. Well, so we said, come on the line,
he said, raven come Monday. One of those quarterbacks are

(25:29):
going to be questioned, can't.

Speaker 5 (25:31):
They get it?

Speaker 1 (25:31):
But I think Lamar Jackson is going to garner a
hell of them, a lot more criticism than Josh Allen.
So I think again, you said it was a push
advantage again, Ravens more to play for, Ravens, super talented,
more weapons, Ravens is my pick.

Speaker 7 (25:46):
Well, let's kick it too. I was saying, I'm gonna
take the Bills to win this game. Wow, can you
can you pay my tail phone beings? Can you pay automobiles?

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Big Destiny's child fan? Who knew Belos? What's your take?

Speaker 4 (25:59):
You know, I'm with you. I think it's really like
flip a coin. How are you feeling today? I might
change my mind tomorrow, but right now, I am taking.

Speaker 6 (26:05):
The bills and I'm just giving them the edge because
it's at home.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
I also think weather is going to play a factor
in here.

Speaker 6 (26:10):
I know it's cold in Baltimore, but I think it's
a little bit different of a cold in Buffalmore.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
Jackson, where's that cover? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (26:18):
Mark Jackson one time in the cold, and see how
much he's running because he I think he's a little hurt.
Didn't he have like a back or like a he
got hurt last week or two weeks ago.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
I don't think it's going to be well.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Mar Jackson said. He said, this is serious. We ain't friends.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
I is a serious good That's how most athletes should say.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
I think he looked fired up. I wouldn't bet against him.

Speaker 4 (26:37):
Yeah, well, I'm not betting against Josh Allen.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
But you love Buffalo Wings, but you went to college
in Maryland. I know what a struggle I'm facing right now.
You know what, I think love will triumph overall here.
And I think that Josh Allen just being in love,
just doing it for his future wife. Yeah to be
I mean Halie Steinfeld. They call her the Queen of Buffalo,

(27:00):
of Buffalo Wings. I'm gonna go with the Bills. I've
had a good feeling about them the last you know,
it's a great matchup Man Grady.

Speaker 5 (27:10):
Who closed the door on the Steelers last weekend. Derrick Henry,
He's gonna be the difference in this game.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
It's so again, as I discuss this game, every second,
you could change your minds. I'm like, yeah, how the
hell are they gonna stop Derrick Henry coin flip. I agree,
Raven Ravens, I'll stick with the Bills advantage. And let's
wrap it up with John. And by the way, John,
thanks for playing along.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
Man.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
This is a fun I got five on it.

Speaker 5 (27:33):
Yeah yeah, John, By the way, stay on the line
because we're gonna send you a swiggy.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (27:37):
Thanks for having me guys.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
You guys do a great job.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Listen.

Speaker 5 (27:40):
I'm with dB.

Speaker 9 (27:41):
I like Baltimore, like King Henry.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
I don't think the I don't think the linebackers in
the Buffalo defense can stop that scent a hole, and
Henry's just gonna crush them.

Speaker 5 (27:50):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
He's with you, Danny, g And stay on hold. John,
thanks for playing along. We appreciate it. I want to
throw one thing out there, you talk about clever advertising.
Remember back in the day was like Super Bowl ads
with millions of dollars and they still are. But it
was the idea of waiting to see what ad was
going to be right.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
That was the whole culture change with it. I with
social media.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
I saw something today and I thought it was pretty clever.
In Times Square there's a huge cores Light. Again, this
is not an ad, huge cores Light billboard in Times Square.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
There's also a huge Heidi Montag billboard that.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Is true, and it says cors Light Mountain Cold Refreshment.
They spelt refreshment wrong. It says Mountain Cold refreshment.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
Do you know that was done on purpose?

Speaker 5 (28:40):
It was there.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
You go, they reach out to cores Light and cors
Light's like, oh my goodness.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
And the whole centiment for a minute was how do
they walk? That's happened?

Speaker 1 (28:49):
And they said, sorry, we were tired. We just when
we printed that ad, we had a case of the Mondays.
Everyone's a case of the Mondays. In promotion of there
knew Corslight Case of the Mondays. They're selling a case
of beer the Monday after Super Bowl Sunday. I guess
they said it's the most Monday of all Mondays because

(29:12):
we all have to go back to work. So this
whole misprint just showing you people are part of the campaign,
always trying to find clever ways to get people talking
because everyone's like, what idiots refers.

Speaker 5 (29:21):
They knew all the grammar police would come after him.
Danny's ridiculous, though, people do it, Danny. That's why Rich
has the no Regirts tattoo on his back.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
You know I was him, just so people talk about
no joke.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
There are people designed doing this on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
You ever see someone say or do something to I
hate it.

Speaker 8 (29:45):
It's ridiculous. It makes me angry on.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
TikTok and Instagram. I mean, everyone knows this, but you
want engagement. So every time someone says something pep wrong. No,
But every time someone says something wrong, there's one hundreds
to comment.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
It's like, no, you idiot. The Ravens didn't win the
Super Bowl with Lamar Dargson. That's just hundreds of engaged responders.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
That's why Rich has the ancient Chinese symbol for numbskull
tattooed on his back. Your thoughts on the Supreme courts,
and yeah, TikTok's done. You think, mister Beast or mister Wonderful,
is someone's gonna come in in the next forty eight
to seventy two hours. I heard from my guy Jack Mack,
who's my favorite dude at barstool. I don't care about
anyone else except for Jack Mac. He's my favorite. Rich

(30:26):
is always talking about all the women on barstool. I
don't know any of them, no, you know. I mentioned
Brionna Chicken from Like who I'm like, mentioned every day.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
KFC Barstools, and mess Fan. I like him. I like KFC,
but Jack Mac is my favorite. Okay, Well, what did
he say that me hungry?

Speaker 1 (30:43):
On Monday, mister Trump invited the owner and founder of
TikTok to the inauguration. He's got like a front row seat,
So why would he be inviting that dude, right if
they didn't have some sort of plan on working things
through and figuring it out. So maybe it does go away,
but maybe it's just on hold until they figure it out.

(31:05):
Because you think he's gonna invite this guy and his
dude's gonna show up and they're not gonna figure something
out together. Well, didn't this thing ends though on Sunday?

Speaker 2 (31:16):
Can't they?

Speaker 1 (31:17):
Wasn't there an option for the Supreme Court and President
Biden to maybe do a thirty to ninety day you know,
I guess you a delay of sorts. I was saying,
you have some insights.

Speaker 7 (31:26):
Well, I'm sorry, I want to actually wanted to go
back to the I think it's the CEO of TikTok
being at the inauguration.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
Yeah, all of the he's singing with the village people,
all of.

Speaker 7 (31:34):
The tech CEOs are gonna like be at the inauguration,
like Google Meta because they've all donated to the Trump
Inauguration Fund. So like there, I don't know he's gonna
be there though he's in DC already. So I just
wanted to offer that.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
Doesn't that say a lot to you though, that there's
got to be some sort of resolution I think. So
there's too much at stake, I know for a lot
of people, just sounds like a stupid app. Yeah, stupid app.
This worth a lot of money that is consuming us.
There's almost there's almost two hundred million users in the
United States exactly. And listen, no one wants Chinese shenanigans

(32:11):
getting you know, messing up our situation. That's what they'll
figure out. And I will say there's two types of people,
players and haters. I know, we know your theory. Rich
builds theories on Taylor Swift's song.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
That's not true. But it's a good theory though.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
But there are people that are happy for other people's success,
and then there's people that don't like anyone having stuff
they don't have. So you got a lot of people
that are saying, oh wow, so a bunch of influencers
are going to lose income.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
I look at it like that's a bummer man.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
There's a lot of younger generation people that make a
nice side hustle or money, spent years building a follow up.
Like even a guy like Brandon Spoil, Brandon who works
in the editing department, he posts on TikTok some really
great fantasy football stuff and he's like, yeah, dude, I
made some money.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Off of that.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
That's it stinks for the younger generation that look at
social media as a way to make money because TikTok
did pay. So I don't look at it as I
look at it as yeah, it does suck for a
lot of younger people and there's people that make not
just a couple hondo or a couple of thousand here
and there.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
There's people that their whole livelihood. I care.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
I sympathize, but I do think it would be a
blessing disguise if it were to go. To be honest,
you know, I, like I said to you before take
Away TikTok, It's not like you're gonna be like aj
Brown reading books all of a sudden, You're gonna just
be scrolling on Instagram more. I'll be reading Inner Help
or whatever it was about to be an uptick in
real estate agent, Self Help, doctor Seuss books, saying all

(33:38):
these hot Instagram girls and TikTok girls are now I'm
going to be selling us frying our brains and our
kicken frames chicken, and it's so addictive. So I think
we'd find more productive use of our time. But I
don't want to see people lose money, and I'm hoping
that things will be figured out squared away. Well, Hey,
we'll keep you in the loop, but as of now,

(33:59):
the Supreme Court said later to you, as of now,
you get still follow us, though, at Steve Covino, at
Rich Davis, at Covino and Rich and of course Fox
Sports Radio. It's like watching a show you know that's
gonna get canceled falls on TikTok.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
For the next forty eight hours. Let me ask you this.
I'm a big Mets fan. You're a Yankees fan.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
Before we get back into football, I don't know if
I have my Mets goggles on. I'm trying to think
of a Met that warglass. Chris Sabo was the red
wore glasses. I don't know if I have my Mets
goggles on. Didn't George Foster wear glasses at one point?
He did in like eighty four. But Pete Alonzo, yes,

(34:45):
he had a down year.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
Yeah, but his down year was better than most people's years. Yeah.
But I want to just throw some numbers at you,
knuckle head.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
You can't say he had a down year with thirty
four home runs in eighty eight RBI. Okay, maybe a
down yere for him, all right, but now down year,
Pete Alonzo, I don't know if you know how this works.
You don't get younger, you get older. Yeah, okay, In fact,
I know how old he is. You're kind of sending nerd.
He's thirty that's not old. The basis so all right,
he's thirty years.

Speaker 2 (35:15):
I agree. You guys get big contracts until they're forty.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
I get it. But Peter Alonzo's thirty. He's not the
most nimble guy. You've seen Peter Alonzo rounding third and
you're like, my goodness, no, he's no John Carlos Stanton.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
But you know, Peter Alonso is not the most nimble fella.
Oh lucky, luckily he plays first base.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
But he's a decent first base. When he's not a
gold glover. It's not like you're it's all the way. O. Wait,
hold on, I gotta stop right there and at least
give you a counterpoint. Were you ever counting on Alonzo
to be a base dealer? No, no, no, I'm saying
he's not gonna get faster. He's only gonna get slower
and beefier. Ever have him because he was a quick

(35:51):
on his feet never he's always been a big galute.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
I'm gonna give you some numbers.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
And when you talk about GMS, I'm not saber metrics
type of guy.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
I'm not a luk at the number. I think I'm
in between. It's instinct and numbers together. Anyone that relies
on one of those things. You can't rely on your
gut one hundred percent, and you can't rely on numbers
one hundred percent. But home runs two and fifty six
six remember rookie year, unstoppable, fifty three dingers the last

(36:24):
three years. Let's go last three years, right, forty forty
six thirty four, So a career low in home runs
RBI old. He also had some very clutch home runs
when they mattered. That is true, they mattered in the playoffs.
That is the next layer of the conversation. Save your thoughts.
But as far as regular season production, home runs down,

(36:48):
his lowest RBI three years ago. He led the league
one thirty one two years ago, one to eighteen last year,
eighty eight bouts three years ago, one twenty eight.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
Two years ago.

Speaker 1 (37:05):
He struck out one hundred and fifty one times. Last
year one hundred and seventy two times. So what's one
down year. No, I'm saying the numbers are trending away
from Pete Alonzo. Home runs down, RBI down, strikeouts up,
getting older. Yet I still think three years, seventy million

(37:28):
dollars final offer.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
I think the Mets are doing them a little dirty.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
I think they're completely doing them dirty. And I and
all the right things like oh, we like him as
a guy, we wanted to work it out. That's bs.
That's like a woman saying, look, I really love you
and I really like you, but you know, I just
feel they need to see other dudes. It's like, well,
then you don't love me that much. Looked like, listen,

(37:54):
what the Mets could say all the right things. They
don't love him enough to give him what he wants.
I mean, they gave Wan Soto seven sixty five of
fifteen winker. They just signed aj Minter for twenty two
million for two years, your new lefty reliever, and they
signed a Manayah starting pitcher lefty who did great in
the postseason. They gave him get this three year, seventy

(38:14):
five million. And that's where it rubbed me weird, because
I know that pitching is more important to get that
rotation going, and Manaiah really clicked last year. I just
think he's a homegrown dude. He it could have been
a lifelong met that would be on the brink of
breaking lots of Met records. I think he has a

(38:40):
good relationship with the fans. I think the fans like
Pete Alonzo. I like he's the guy that started let's
eff and go. Yeah, he's a little goofy, and I think,
you know, because he's grown up in city Field, we've
accepted him as the goofy Met guy, but he puts
up big numbers. I really saw him as the next
David Wright, like the next guy that could be the

(39:01):
face of your team. All these other kids, the characters,
Yeah they're big stars, but they're not Pete Alance listen,
and I think New York needs a guy like him.
The Mets have to keep up with the Braves, the Phillies,
the Yankees, the Dodgers, the Padres, the elite teams, the Astros.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
Dude, I wish the Yankees would get rid of Goldschmid.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
I wish he was away and then scoop up Pete
Alonzo seriously, because he's a fir. You don't need him
to be limber and agile. He's a big, lumbering power
hitting first basement. But as the offseason carried along, I
thought the Mets were not going to give him six
or seven years. I thought the Mets were going to

(39:41):
give Pete. I thought the final contract offer would be
four years, one twenty. I thought they were really going
to give him thirty a year. And Monzy has breaking
news in the baseball world. What do you got, Manzi,
let's hear it.

Speaker 5 (39:56):
Oh my goodness, breaking news from Foxville.

Speaker 6 (40:00):
I mean, you guys aren't gonna care as much about
this as Danny g and I guys. But Roki Sasaki,
who we have been waiting for right like it was Padres,
Blue Jays Dodgers officially he is signing with the Dodgers.
On his Instagram, he broke the news, posting a picture
of the Dodgers.

Speaker 4 (40:22):
Uh, so it's happening. He said.

Speaker 6 (40:25):
It was a very difficult decision, but I will do
my best to make it the right decision when I
look back after my baseball career. Obviously this is translated.
I want to slip my sleeve on the Dodgers uniform
at the opening conference, thanking everyone who has supported me
thus far. This is translated, so it probably sounds a
little funky because I press the translate. But yes, a
twenty three year old right hand, right handed picture coming

(40:46):
to the Doyers.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
Can you translated from yen to dollars. What's the uh if?
Do we know the numbers? Show?

Speaker 4 (40:52):
No, we do not know the numbers. We don't know.

Speaker 6 (40:53):
Everyone is literally going off this Instagram picture that he
posted seven minutes ago.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
Wow, I'm not surprised.

Speaker 4 (41:00):
Been the rich get richer bring it.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Wait, so you mean to tell me he's joining the
team that has shoh O Tani and that just won
a World series that's gonna pay him. And I heard
I heard he just donated six hundred thousand dollars. Fire,
there we go.

Speaker 6 (41:19):
And also I do think the Mets are not doing
right by Pete.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
Also, you know, Manti, I'm curious what your thoughts are
because you and Danny West Coast Dodgers fans, you're more
in sync with Padres Dodgers giants when you look at
the NL East before you met me and heard me
talking about Pete all the time, was your impression that
he's a premier power hitter.

Speaker 3 (41:37):
Yes.

Speaker 6 (41:37):
And also I'm just big unloyalty, and I just feel
like the Mets and should be a little bit more
loyal to him and what he did, especially like if
we're like, what have you.

Speaker 4 (41:46):
Done for me lately? Well, I helped you win in
the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
Yeah, the three run home run exactly. Devin Williams one
of the premier closers in baseball. If not for that,
petere alns a home run, all those theatrics against the
Phillies and the Dodgers series, that doesn't happened if Pete
doesn't hit that home run.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
And yeah, I really feel he was a met through
and through.

Speaker 1 (42:05):
That's your guy, that's your dude, right and now you
throw away like yesterday's diapers. And I do think it
takes away from the Wan Soto deal. What made the
Wan Soto deal so awesome and you guys, is like
you're adding him to the team that made the playoffs,
and that was the team that involved a power hitting
Pete Alon. I've heard. I've heard so it's like, well,
now you're missing a major beat at first base.

Speaker 5 (42:27):
I don't like.

Speaker 2 (42:28):
I don't like that for your Mets.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
I've heard a lot of my Mets fans friends say
the Sodo deal feels less Yes, because if you told
me add Sodo to Alonso Lindor, you're stacked vientos nimo.
Now some of the Mets have a lineup, it's not
the Dodgers lineup, but it's getting there. You take away Pete,
You're right, you're taking away a guaranteed thirty, forty or

(42:52):
fifty home runs.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
But I think you're banking on Lady Gerrero.

Speaker 1 (42:55):
My big takeaway is that they're banking on getting Latty
in a trade this year or signing him next year year,
which I think Gladdy is better than Pete. But that's
that's a now you're hoping, right, Pete Alonzo. I think
it's the low ball offer of the year, three year,
seventy mil final offer because they knew he didn't have
a lot of options, you know what I mean. That's
kind of weak for a team who emptied their everything

(43:17):
for Soto, but they can't give their guy just a
few just to make it right.

Speaker 3 (43:25):
I did want to ask Rich something. What is the
difference in cyber metrics and saber metrics, which is what
you referred to.

Speaker 2 (43:35):
I don't even know. Did I say the wrong word?
Did I say the wrong to say?

Speaker 5 (43:40):
You're doing it on purpose? Like course light?

Speaker 1 (43:42):
Yeah, I was doing on purpose for people. Light is
refreshing the workers in the office. I thought it was
sabre when they got bought out by Saber, right.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
Sabday metrics. I'll just call it that saber.

Speaker 1 (43:56):
That's a little baseball back to football Divisional weekend, most
success weekend in the NFL, and we got to catch
up with star tight end Dallas Goddard a couple of
days ago, little preview this weekend, and here's how it
went down. All right, it's Cavino and Rich and his
content is brought to you by Otesla, A primo. Last
and our featured guest is a six foot five beast,

(44:18):
Dallas Goddard, an actual OTESLA patient who has been compensated
for his time.

Speaker 2 (44:23):
Welcome Dallas. I'm doing well, doing well. Glad to be
here with you.

Speaker 5 (44:27):
Guys.

Speaker 2 (44:28):
Say you got a big smile on your face.

Speaker 1 (44:29):
You should because you rumbled into the end zone twenty
four yard touchdown. You were stiff. Farman, take us through
that play and how does that feel, especially in the postseason.

Speaker 9 (44:39):
Yeah, touchdowns always feel good. In the postseason, they feel
even better. It's definitely up there for one of my
favorite touchdowns in my career. But uh, you know, it
was early in the third quarter. The offense has kind
of been stalling out lately, and it was time to
make a play. It was a one score game and
they brought a cover zero. Jalen made a check, got
the balls in my hands quick, and you know, I

(45:01):
saw a cornerback and I never want to get tackled
by a corner, so you know, I lowered my shoulder
on him, pushed him off me.

Speaker 2 (45:09):
He kept chasing me down and I just kept pushing
him away. Got on the end zone.

Speaker 9 (45:12):
It was really cool because the entire stadium got super loud.
All my teammates were hyping me up, and it was
just a really good feeling. And like I said, getting
the en zone is always fun, but it's always even better.

Speaker 2 (45:23):
In the playoffs. You got that ball or what? Yeah,
I got that ball.

Speaker 9 (45:27):
You know, I decided this year I'm gonna save all
my touchdown balls. I'm going to save all more jerseys,
you know, start stacking that memorabilia for sure.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
When you in the future picture that touchdown run, do
you picture it first person or have you seen the
highlights so many times now that you actually picture the highlight.

Speaker 2 (45:43):
I'd say I actually picture the highlight even though you
lived it. You know I lived it.

Speaker 9 (45:47):
Everything happened so fast you kind of just forget about it,
and then you watch the replay obviously more times than
you do it, because I only get to do it once. Yeah,
and I've seen it so many times. It's it's honestly
like it's a third person wherever the camera was.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
That's my view that I see it in.

Speaker 5 (46:01):
All the time.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
Funny, we always wonder that does the athlete remember the
three pointer the touchdown knocking someone out or did they
picture the highlight?

Speaker 2 (46:08):
Yeah? Highlight?

Speaker 5 (46:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (46:09):
I would imagine he sees it through his face masking
and he's like, I should.

Speaker 2 (46:13):
They need to get little GoPros in. Hey, yeah, oh
that's that's.

Speaker 5 (46:16):
Kind a little bit.

Speaker 2 (46:17):
Now, you got the ball, you got in the end zone.

Speaker 1 (46:19):
But if you were se Kwon Barkley late in the
fourth quarter on his breakaway run, would you have taken
a knee or gone the distance?

Speaker 5 (46:24):
Ooh, that's tough.

Speaker 9 (46:26):
You know, you always want to say you want to
play the situation, is really smart, do the right thing,
Happy that we got the first down when we're able
to end the game. But if it was me running
the ball, I think I would have taken it all
the way to the one yard line and then taken
a knee.

Speaker 2 (46:39):
Get those cards right, touchdown. But I need all the
yards I can get.

Speaker 1 (46:42):
Yeah. I even saw DeVante Smith was like why didn't
he go? Were your where your teammates saying like, yo, Saquon,
you should.

Speaker 9 (46:48):
Have just went Yeah, everybody was saying that. But I
think he understands he's already got two thousand yards on
the year. He's been racking them up, so he's like, ah,
I'll save my legs for next week.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
I have plugged that discipline.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
Man.

Speaker 2 (46:59):
Yeah, that's tough.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
After Jalen returned from the concussion, You guys, the passing
attack hasn't been you know, I guess you would say
fully in sync. What's your plan going into this game
against the Rams?

Speaker 9 (47:11):
We played the Rams earlier in the season, we were
able to get to win. What I remember the mouse
about him was how good their front was. They got
two defensive ends that play really physical. They're really good.
So that'll be our biggest challenge going against them as
their fronts. But having last week growing, you know, it's
been a long time since our offense played together this year,
Between me aj Davante and Saquon, I think we only

(47:37):
played one game together and that was the first game
of the year, and then this playoff game, So just
getting us all back in figuring out what's going to work,
how we're going to attack the defense, what the defense
is going to do to take away who they want
to and that all plays in a fact to it.
But I'm really excited with where we're heading and it's
going to be a fun game on Sunday against the Rams.

Speaker 1 (47:55):
Well, you sort of clambered him last time thirty seven
to twenty, and you got to figure the Rams are
gonna make some adjustments this time, So how do you
combat that.

Speaker 9 (48:04):
It'll spend a lot of time in practice and meetings.
The coaches are breaking down the film. Now we'll look
at it. We'll see things that they did against formations
that we bring out, try to give them different looks,
make sure they don't know what we're running. Just kind
of tweak little things like that. But after you win
that first playoff game, it gets really excited. Everybody just
locks in a little bit more because you know each

(48:25):
one you win, you get closer to the main goal.
So I know the team's super excited and we're gonna
be ready going into it.

Speaker 2 (48:31):
It's going to be a tough matchup.

Speaker 9 (48:32):
The Rams are playing really good football at the right time,
and so are we so looking forward to a great matchup.

Speaker 1 (48:37):
Yes, the defense got a lot better since then. Since then,
they put up some good numbers defensively. You guys, almost
five hundred yards against those Rams last time. Saquon got
to be licking his chops. That was the game against
Rams where two fifty five and two tunny. So they're
gonna make adjustments obviously, Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 9 (48:54):
Obviously last time they played, Saquon broke the Eagles record.
So that was a cool day for all of us.
And we're not going to take that lightly. And you know,
the good thing about our offense is we can win
in so many different ways.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
If they want to load the box.

Speaker 9 (49:07):
And take away Saquon, we got two star wide receivers
on the outside, and we have so many different ways
to win. And we got a bunch of unselfish people
on the team that whatever role they're asked playing that game,
they'll do whatever they decide to take away they can
take away.

Speaker 2 (49:22):
But we have so many weapons other places that we
can rely on.

Speaker 1 (49:25):
Let me give you some advice, man, Just keep practicing
that stiff farm in the mirror, you know, Yeah, and
keep watching that highlight Man.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
Yeah, just keep doing it.

Speaker 5 (49:32):
I fire it up all week.

Speaker 2 (49:33):
I'll be ready to go.

Speaker 1 (49:34):
Not only that, maybe read Inner Excellence. Have you guys
been busting to AJ Brown's chops at all? Based out
of the whole reading the book thing, that's like the
big story.

Speaker 5 (49:42):
Now.

Speaker 9 (49:43):
We've joked around with him a little bit. Obviously, we've
seen him do it multiple times. He's done it when
he's had really good games, he does it when he
has bad games. It's just something that he does. We
have a few people that have been contacting the author
of the book. We're trying to get one for everybody
on the team, and maybe next week you'll see all
forty eight of us on the sideline reading the book.

Speaker 1 (50:04):
So AJ Brown Book Club, I like it. I got
to ask you were banged up a little bit this year,
like everyone. I remember EMITTT. Smith One's telling us after
Week one, no one's one hundred percent healthy. Was it
important for you to get back in their week eighteen
just to tune up before the playoffs?

Speaker 2 (50:17):
Is that important?

Speaker 5 (50:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (50:18):
Obviously getting back out there knocking a few of the
cobwebs off.

Speaker 2 (50:22):
See how my leg feels.

Speaker 9 (50:23):
You can't simulate the reaction that happens in games at practice.
You can't simulate getting tackled in practice. So it was
really cool to get back out there, catch the ball,
see what it feels like to get tackled again, see
kind of how my knee feels doing everything, and you know,
it felt great.

Speaker 2 (50:42):
So it was just gave me a lot of confidence
going into the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (50:45):
I got to ask Eagles they got those sweet throwbacks.
What uniform do you like wearing the most? Do you
like those those old school Randall Cunningham looking eighties throwbacks?

Speaker 2 (50:54):
Do you like the all black? Do you like the
road Whites?

Speaker 6 (50:57):
Like?

Speaker 2 (50:57):
What do you feel the coolest in?

Speaker 5 (50:58):
Man?

Speaker 2 (50:59):
It's it's tough to beat the Kelly Greens. It's something
that you see.

Speaker 9 (51:03):
You know, Reggie White, so many different players had such
great careers in them. So when they brought those back,
that was, you know, what dream come true being able
to wear those for the first time. They always look
super sweet, and you know, I definitely like him as
an alternate. I don't think they should be our regular
jerseys because the Midnight Greens are so cool too. They
just look clean and all the jerseys are great, But

(51:25):
I would say my favorites are the Kelly Greens and.

Speaker 2 (51:28):
The All Blacks. How do you not feel like a
band asked that all black one?

Speaker 1 (51:31):
Right?

Speaker 2 (51:31):
Which one? Do you think you look the sexiest thing?

Speaker 5 (51:35):
You know that?

Speaker 9 (51:35):
I would say Blacks a swimming color, I believe, So
that just kind of helps out my figure a little bit.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
Now, you've had a great season again, Cavino and Rich
here with Dallas Goddard. But Sekong Barkley had an incredible
season two. Does he get your MVP vote?

Speaker 9 (51:49):
I wish you would have played Week eighteen with me
so we could have got the all time rushing record.
But I'm definitely giving Saquon my MVP vote and him
getting the MVPs.

Speaker 2 (51:59):
You know what team award for us, so.

Speaker 9 (52:01):
You know, I know the old line would give them
the vote to and me being a tight end, I
block for him here and there too, So he obviously
did so many special things this year, things I've never
seen on the football field, So he definitely gets my vote,
and you know, I'd be proud to tell my kids
one day block form as well.

Speaker 1 (52:18):
Nice, you're one of many badass tight ends in the NFL.
Are you pals with Kittle? Kelsey Laport.

Speaker 2 (52:24):
Are you friends with some of these other badass tight ends? Oh?

Speaker 9 (52:27):
Absolutely, you know, I think the tight end position has
the coolest people in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (52:33):
Agreed.

Speaker 9 (52:33):
You know, I go to tight End University every year
put on by Kittle, Travis Kelcey, and Greg Olsen. So
just try to learn ball, chop it up with them,
and we just spend three days together all his tight
ends and just have a great time with each other.
And it's cool because everybody there has pretty much the
same personality. They just want to have fun, they care

(52:54):
about each other. And then once you meet all these people,
it's cool because no matter who we play, I always
know somebody on the other side of the ball that
I can talk to after the game pre game. We're
trying to keep growing the tight end position, and you know,
the more plays that we make, the better it is
for all of us.

Speaker 1 (53:11):
Well, you're fired up the divisional rounds. What do you
do the night before are you? Do you have trouble
sleeping or do you sleep like a baby? Like?

Speaker 2 (53:17):
What is the night before a playoff game? Like for
Dallas Goddter, it's different.

Speaker 9 (53:21):
You know, I have no problem sleeping before a regular
season game, but before the playoff games, your mind races
a little bit, your heart's beating a little bit faster
a couple of days before the game. But I just
try to focus on my breath work. I try to
keep myself as calm as I can for as long
as I can, so I don't waste all my energy
just thinking about it, being excited for it. But yeah,

(53:41):
I just sit in the hotel, do my breath work
and just try to relax. Maybe put on a good movie,
something that can just keep me calm.

Speaker 2 (53:48):
What movie you picking?

Speaker 1 (53:49):
Are you a rom com guy? You an action guy?
What is Dallas Gotter watching to calm down?

Speaker 2 (53:54):
Dude?

Speaker 9 (53:54):
It's a little bit of everything. A lot of the times,
it'll be one of Adam Sandler's movies. He's got so
many ones, and you can kind of get so many
different But you want a comedy, He's got some action
sports one if you're feeling like that.

Speaker 2 (54:07):
So he's kind of got it all. So it's probably
usually Adam stand on their flick. He pumped about Happy
Gilmore too.

Speaker 9 (54:11):
Oh, I can't wait for that. I'm super excited about
that shout out. You know, Trad made that one, So yeah,
and wait for that one to come.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
Out, dude, a couple more stiff arms, you'll make the
third one.

Speaker 9 (54:20):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (54:25):
Now is time for this week's Pro the Week and
thank you Danny G for.

Speaker 5 (54:32):
The drum roll. That's my belly.

Speaker 1 (54:35):
Your prest pros Pro the Week goes to Dallas got Her.
You know what, it's a nice guy. Get a swell
fella because he was nice to you.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
Yeah, he really was.

Speaker 1 (54:44):
Though, honestly, when you do things like that, do these interviews,
sometimes athletes could be stiffs and he really wasn't. He
was very personable, nice dude, six foot five, beast to
don and he had a pretty sweet stiff arm for real.

Speaker 2 (54:57):
And we'll be rooting for him this weekend.

Speaker 1 (55:00):
Him personally, yeah, you know, when you grow older and
when you work in his business especially, I can only
speak for myself. I start rooting for people. Yeah, less teams,
more people. I mean, I will always root for the
Niners to crush anyone. But as we interview people over
the years, there are certain players that stand out and
then I the worst feeling is when you meet someone
on your team and you don't like them and you're like, oh,

(55:22):
oh oh, like pookin the Kua is my dude like him.
We've interviewed him a few times and he's great. I'm
a Niners fan. I hope he catches zero catches against
the forty nine ers. But other than that, I'm root
for booking the coup A really nice fella. Let's get
into some weekend hob now, but let's do it live
in for the weekend.

Speaker 2 (55:41):
You're winning bets for talking points. If you get stuck socializing,
you ever done anything dangerous?

Speaker 1 (55:46):
Ever?

Speaker 2 (55:46):
Dance with the devil in the pale line? Friday brings
us weekend hob nob All right, this is what you
need to watch this weekend.

Speaker 1 (55:56):
Of course, you have your divisional round of playoffs talking
about it, but nobody else. I'm gonna watch every baseball
fan that's not a Dodgers fan figure out how the
hell you could beat that team. Not only in the
regular season, come the postseason. Your sixth starter could be
another team's one or two. It's disgusting, and I hope
they all get food poisoning in the playoffs. Thank you,

(56:19):
all right, weekend hobnobbing. So if you want to go
to the theater, I saw a nose Faratu.

Speaker 5 (56:25):
I liked it a lot.

Speaker 1 (56:26):
The whole monster movie genre is making a big time comeback.
You know how like superheroes became a thing again. Well,
guess what Locknus, Monster, Frankenstein, Dracula. It's like the renaissance
about down back of all these characters. So based on
the popularity of the Invisible Man that critically acclaimed, Wolfman's

(56:47):
back in his back in theaters and Rich Your girl.
Julia Garner is one of the stars from Ozark. Julia,
remember you thought it was justin Timberlake. Remember, oh that's right. Yeah,
at first stands out she had she had Timberlake in
sinccare and Matilda Firth. Wolfman is out this weekend. I've
enjoyed him so far, so I might check that out.

(57:07):
Beyond SNL if you ever watch Saturday Night Live, there's
a four episode docuseriies starting this weekend celebrating their fifty years.
But interviews from all sorts of cast members supposed to
be great. That's obviously on Peacock Beyond SNL, and over
promised that here that's pretty good. No Episode seventy six.

(57:28):
That's our bonus show. It's on Fox Sports Radios YouTube page.
We play a game name that playoff star NFL edition
before they were stars, when they were kids, and we
pay homage. We do a little tribute to fictional sports
characters in honor of Harry Doyle, Bob Ukar rest in peace.

Speaker 2 (57:45):
Oh by the way, UFC three eleven this weekend. Enjoy it.
I do a great Julia Garner impression.

Speaker 5 (57:50):
You want to hear it?

Speaker 2 (57:51):
Did you watch Ozarr? Ready? Here we go, Marty, Marty, Marty,
Oh my god, sounds just like her. I thought it
was her.

Speaker 1 (57:58):
You know what. I start to watch last night because
my wife fell asleep and I was like, I'm going
to start this without her, forget her. I watched a
little bit of gaye Iglesias's new stand up special, Fluff
Legend of Fluffy that's been around for a second, and
he turned it out. You know, he keeps it very clean.
There was a point where he definitely took a turn
like I'm going to be family friendly. He starts the
show by saying, I've been doing this twenty seven years,

(58:20):
so a lot of you saw me as a kid,
and now you're seeing me as an adult.

Speaker 2 (58:22):
With your kids.

Speaker 1 (58:23):
So Fluffy, we saw that he's one of the top
billion comedians. So he's doing well, the Jerry Springer documentary.
I'm finally gonna get around to it. But you know
what I want to tell you guys about because I
don't even know if we've talked about this. The One
Who Lives, The Ones Who Live, Walking Dead?

Speaker 2 (58:39):
Oh yeah, we forgot that. This show still went on.

Speaker 5 (58:42):
Rick.

Speaker 1 (58:42):
It's the one with Rick Rhymes. She's like, what happens
to Rick? Remember when he got picked up? When the
bridge blew up and everything? Do you even make it
to that point? Well?

Speaker 2 (58:50):
Anyway, too much? Rick Rhymes? The Walking Dead, The Ones
Who Live.

Speaker 1 (58:55):
It's the story of Rick Rhymes where it picks up
with him and he's in Andrew Lincoln of course.

Speaker 2 (58:59):
What yeah, I was one last night.

Speaker 5 (59:02):
I know it's all about NFL playoffs this weekend, but
Sunday night, the Lakers visit the Intuit Dome against the
Clippers for the very first time. How many Laker fans
will invade the clippers new home. Oh, it's gonna be
a long Lakers.

Speaker 2 (59:14):
That's awesome. I'd have a great weekend. Enjoy your football.
Thank you everybody. I'll read it. There, you baby, are
you in the Promised Land? Yeah,
