Speaker 3 (00:58):
A game?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Honest to God?

Speaker 1 (01:01):
I think that Kansas City Houston game deserves entry into
the Sports Betting Hall of Fame. I will explain my position.
I think a lot of people would agree with me.
A game that you predicted three different wins. You predicted
Washington on the money line, you predicted the over. It
was your Simon says that being Washington and Detroit, a

(01:23):
game where a field goal kicker cost us a win
instead of a push. Thank you, Jake Elliot. First note,
I wrote fucking Jake Elliott. Last note, I wrote fucking
Jake Elliot. And then a game that we had no
business covering. When there were thirty one points scored in
the first half. We lose the we lose the under last, second,

(01:48):
to last, third, to last, whatever it is. Play the
game for the Baltimore Ravens. Catch every episode of The

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Are you ready to roll?

Speaker 3 (02:42):
My brother? I am my friend.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Houston and Kansas City, Kansas City, mintus eight and a half.
We lean Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
All week.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
We made it our Foxhoul. We never loved it. It
wasn't a game that we loved compared to the others.
I think this turned into a Hall of Fame betting game.
I had more texts about the matt Ariza running out
of the end zone safety that cost all those plus

(03:18):
nine and a half betters their cashed ticket than I've
ever had on any backdoor cover. I don't know if
it was the circumstances. I don't know if it's because
betting is more prevalent now. I don't know if it's
because so many people were watching that game, and it's
Kansas City, and it's Taylor Swift, so there's gonna be
a lot of eyeballs on that game.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
You know, Joe Buck nodded to it.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Obviously, it got a lot of attention after the game
because there's so many more people covering betting, But everything
led up to that being and there were a million
different plays along the way.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
What was your take on that game?

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Yeah, it's a better's dream, I know. You know, social
media has warped people's brains where it's always betters on bets,
but in real life, the real world, it's better versus
the books, and the books got absolutely punished. I mean,
if you're any professional out there that could have grabbed
a ten on Houston, they grabbed it. Even if you
had the seven and a half, the eight to eight
and a half, the nine on the Chiefs. It hit

(04:16):
the key number of ten. Some off shore is even
at ten and a half. They got killed. They got
absolutely killed with that play in that middle that none
of us deserved that.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Like, I literally that ten bet.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Obviously it's one tenth of what I had done on
the Chiefs in that spot, and you know, I'm happy
to hit the middle, right, You played it for the
hope of hitting the middle, But when he ran that
out there. I like literally did the math, and I'm
just like, oh my god, the amount of money that
just moved with all these books, because it just moved
through another key number back down to nine. It was incredible.
And you have basically had, you know, the Joe public

(04:49):
guy who shows up twenty minutes for the game and
makes their bet on the Chiefs. They're mad, right because
they lost by half a point. Where you know, it's
eight and a half for what six to eight?

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Dude, it was eight and a half basically for seven days.
This number moved to nine and a half about, you know,
an hour before the game. I checked the line an
hour before the game. I'm like, this thing's at nine
and a half. What the fuck happened? And this happened
a couple times this weekend. We're going to get into
it on a couple of their games. But I was

(05:21):
shocked this thing moved to nine and a half so
late and people were still betting it, which is, dude,
listen to the favorites.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Get the best of the number.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Yeah for sure, but like, luckily, you know, there might
be only three of those guys in the books where
everyone else is basically either on the eight and a
half are below with the Chiefs, or they're on the
nine and a half and above for that you know
Texans team that We'll be honest, we both know, Like
that's why you bet on Mahomes in that game. People
are gonna bitch you be like, well, the Texans out

(05:54):
gain them.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
They did this to did Z. This is this is
the life.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
I'm betting against my Homes in the playoffs for excuses,
for reasons.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Oh, let's blame the refs. You know the deal. They're
always gonna get the calls. And we joked about coming
into the year.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
That's why, you know, all my futures on the AFC
side were just on the Chiefs because it's like the NFL,
they want this three P just as much as anyone else.
Now you're mixing in the voodoo that is Mahomes and
this Chiefs team that they can't they're happy to be
out game. They do not care. They don't play that way.
It's they beat you all three ways, right. They beat
you with the blitz on defense, and they beat you
as special teams, and they beat you on offense with

(06:29):
just playing smart football and throw I'll turn of the
ball over so yeah, that was as a better that's
those are my favorite games because it's both sides covered
and the underhit and it's like the pro is just
cleaned up in that game, and now we got the
next game, which is another game that this is why
books need to take professional action. This Washington game the
only ones betting at Washington heavy Washington's money line, a

(06:50):
pro sold on. Hold on, I'm I'm just sure getting
to the point that these are two really, really well
bet professional games that basically helped the book and also
crush the book.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
That Chiefs game had so many things that kept them
covering that game. There was the classic luck call for
the Chiefs, the questionable rough in the passer call on
Will Anderson, the classic classic Chiefs break on a missed

(07:22):
extra point. Classic Chiefs have one good drive in the
first half and it is the only first half touchdown.
Mahomes getting another fake laid hit call that Troy Aikman,
who I don't know how you feel about Troy Aikman.
I love Troy Aikman. I think he's so good at this.
He's so grouchy, and he's so skeptical and is so

(07:47):
unafraid to throw cold water on everything that the NFL
holds precious on, all the hype, on all the hyperbole.
I think he's I think he's perpetually just kind of
annoy at everything. It seems to me he was so
mad about that late hit on Mahomes. But the thing

(08:07):
that was great the superman posed touchdown throw to Kelsey.
Those are the things that only Mahomes can do. And
it's why you bet Patrick Mahomes. It's why we are
going to keep betting Patrick Mahomes until Patrick Mahomes is
no longer Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
That or until Kelsey retires, because I think Calward had
the best analogy of it. Like we're in this midst
of a two pair greatness, Like this is Michael Jordan,
Scottie Pippen, Kelsey and Mahomes. This is like, to me,
that is the perfect comp They are the perfect one
two in just total unisons where like he needs he
needs a certain route run I guess a certain defense

(08:49):
and they don't even they don't know what the call is.
Kelsey dictates the route in the route and you saw
it two different times where he basically kind of did
his thing getting to the middle knowing that there's gonna
be an open there. And you know, as someone that's
around his age, you know this is retirement age for
tight ends. You know, thirty five, thirty four year old,
you're done, you're cooked. This dude's out here getting one

(09:10):
hundred yards again? And is it nine straight one hundred
yard games in the playoffs. Like it's so good, it's
so good, it's ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
So yeah, me and you are in the same boat.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Like, I agree, I'm a Trey Aquin hater, but yeah,
I'm all in on what he was talking about because
we all see it. We all see the refs given
the Chiefs these calls, and everyone gets pissed off. Unless
you're a Chiefs fan or a better you hate it.
It's brutal. But it's also why we bet on Mahomes
in the playoffs. He gets the calls, they get the
BS calls, and it's it's we joke all the time.

(09:39):
It's you know, you're playing not the eleventh man, You're
playing the twelfth man. So yeah, the Mahomes Kelsey thing,
it just we can't overlook at enough. It's we'll never
see anything like it, most likely ever again. Seven straight
championship games, right, for Mahomes. Now, ye, it's it's ridiculous,
and we talked to it before the season. It's the
easiest bet to make every year. Don't overthink it. Chiefs

(10:02):
Super Bowl and here they are a game away once again.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
It's just absurd how good they are.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
The last thing I'll say is Spags as a defensive
coordinator in the playoffs. Five straight blitzes in one series
and like he had two, he had blitzes that were
just so well designed. It's amazing how Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes,
Travis Kelsey, Steve Spagnolo, Chris Jones can elevate all of

(10:30):
their games when it gets to the playoffs. They honestly
are just at a different level than everybody else.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
It's such a joy to watch.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
And then you get the lucky breaks and you get
the Mahomes magic, and you get the blocked freaking field
goal that would have made it eight, Like, come on, man,
that was just that to me. Is why when we
look back in history, when the book is written about

(10:57):
how to explain the thrill, the agon, the joy, the misery,
how important the number is, We're gonna look back at
this game as the Hall of Fame example, of all
of that and the unpredictability of betting on football.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
Yeah, and the game that again Mahomes threw for what
one seventy seven. I think it was a crazy stat
We had one receiver have one catch. The rest was
just his tight ends and running backs. It's it's just incredible.
They're just they can beat you in so many ways.
And yeah, playoff Chiefs, it was. It was a great
way to start the weekend.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Great way to start the weekend. That was our foxhall.
We were super excited. It went really well starting off
the weekend. Great for US Washington plus nine and a
half at Detroit. Let's all give our flowers to you,
my BFF, professional better Simon Hunter, this was your Simon says,
you nailed it. You said on Tuesday show you love

(11:57):
the over. You nailed it practically in the first half.
By Thursday you're like, I think you may want to
put some money on the Washington money line. There's going
to be an upset. You nailed it. Well done, well
freaking done. You deserve the accolades, you deserve the flowers.

(12:21):
You deserve to be called a brilliant professional bettor and
my companion.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
Thanks Chad. Yeah, That was fun. Man.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
That's one of those where you know you're at the
book with people and you're going crazy, and you know
that's the type of bet that you feel sick two
days leading up to it and am I overthinking it?

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Why is this feels so easy? What am I not
reading right here?

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Because I told you on Thursday I need some smart
money that were on Detroit and I mean a lot
of the guys were just pushing back against them or
just like this defense, how do they get the stops?
And they had no answer. Their answer was they don't
need to stop. So you have that run game to
be true. If they just ran the ball, if they
never passed the ball, they probably would have won that
game Detroit. That's how dominant Gibbs is and that offensive line.

(13:07):
So I get where they're coming from their view of it.
But that was you know, again, there's so much talk
in this game that we don't even have enough time
to even break down. I feel like we'll spend more
time at this upcoming week with their Eagles matchup. But yeah,
the defense showing up the way they did was impressive.
But the most impressive part is the rookie like Jane Daniels.
I felt confident about Bendingham, I felt comfort about taking

(13:29):
the money line, but the fear was, like even Evans
tell us the trends basically Detroit's automatic in that spot
like that that is the Detroit spot, a night game
off of by big favorite, just absolutely covering machine. Like
all those trends did scare me in a couple of ways,
but I just kept thinking to myself, this defense, how
do they get the stops? And you know, not even

(13:52):
I could envision Jane Daniels happened the type of game,
yet he was just so cool.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
Calm, collective.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
Yeah, as an Eagles fan, sure, semi terrified, but is
it better. It's like, man, what a great feeling knowing
you had that guy over a touchdown that matchup where
you know, we talked before the game chat. I told
you if if it was within six points, I knew
I was gonna win that game with Daniel. So that's
how much confidence I had head into that game, where
even if he was down the fourth quarter, I never

(14:18):
felt like I was gonna be out of it.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
So yeah, bad number.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
And we talked, you know, early Sunday morning or Saturday morning.
You were like, I'm worried about the movement of the line.
Not too it hasn't moved too much. I was like, well,
it has moved eight.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
And a half. Right before kick, a bunch of books
hit seven and a half. So that was really heavy.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
Professional money come in very late on that Washington team.
And yeah, they they're the only double digit win this weekend.
Washington Commanders the sixth seed over the one seed. Football
is great.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
I'm in agony for Dan Campbell in the Lions.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
You know how much I love this team. I love
their spirit and their heart.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
I love the way they do crime in the pressor
it was brutal.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
It was it was brutal.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
I wanted this trio of Dan Campbell and Ben Johnson
and Aaron Glenn to win. I love that Ben Johnson
had stayed for two years because he felt like he
had something so good and he wanted to finish it.
I admire all that. Okay, so I'm I'm so sad
watching the Dan Campbell press conference. I was talking to

(15:22):
my kid today when we were watching the Eagles game,
and I said to him, do you think Dank Campbell's
even watching these games? He was just like, I think
Dan Campbell's in a very dark room with his emotions
right now, just trying to get through it. Like I
feel for him. I do as someone who is as

(15:44):
someone who is tried to do things that you feel
can be big and have them fail spectacularly. It takes
a minute to get over it. I was invested in
this team. I loved them, loved them, made his money,
Love Dan Campbell or Jared Goff. That poor defense, they

(16:04):
did the best they could for so many weeks, playing
third stringers even when the game started. Just you know,
a Meek Robertson out with that grotesque elbow injury. He's
in tears, like it was just a tell me you
feel for Dan Campbell, tell me you have that in you.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
I do.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
I honestly don't in the ways because he makes so
much money chat the ones. I do feel bad for
the fans, always the fans, because as a lifelong Loser
Eagle fan, I know what it's like to be a
Lions fan right now. Like you know, many times in
my life we were the top dog and we blew
it in the playoffs against inferior competition, in games that
you felt great head into, you bought into it, and.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
It all comes crashing.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
Now.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
The only way the Lions are gonna break this curse
is they need a backup with a huge dick, all right,
is something that's gone through it. That's what the Lions need.
So Teddy Bridgewater, I hope you come back there next year.
You are the savior to that Detroit Lions team. I
don't know about you, chet. When I saw Teddy Bridgewater
come to that game, I immediately felt guilt for Whennie
Washington win, like I went Teddy to win a Super

(17:06):
Bowl so bad. Yeah, but yeah, that whole team, we
love them. We won, you know, in a shitty, dog,
shit year we had. They were the one bright spot
for us. They were so good to us all year
in every way they could be it. And yeah, paying
me to bet against them, but it's just we talk
all the time. You take the emotions out of it.
You bet off a computer model, and I try not
to be scared off by all these pro betters barking

(17:27):
my ear.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
Tell me how great this Detroit team is. And it just.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
Felt great like Daniels to believe in a rookie in
that spot. It took took a lot, Like again, Sleepless
Nights Chat, a lot of Sleepless Nights lead into that
game and the fact that it came through the way
it did. You know, it was even even at halftime, right,
they're up ten, right, Like even when they come and
drive the field score touch onn it goes, okay, well

(17:52):
he's gonna get another one here, Jane dannelge you guys
don't know how to stop them. And yeah, holy shit, Washington,
we talk all the time, chat about how a different
friends a quarterback and make It's funny even looking back
on our podcast early in the year of you know,
obviously no no difference to me, Kaylea Williams, Gunn the Bears,
blah blah blah. But the fact that Drake May and

(18:13):
Gania Daniels, if snyders sell the owner of this team
in Washington.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
You know, they take May.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Whatever Snyder could do to make the wrong movie, he
always does it. And this team would be number one pick,
number two pick coming to this year. Like it's that's
how incredible hope and having a great leader like Jane
Daniels is to a team. And yeah, again, we're gonna
spend a lot of time. I don't want to go
too much into it, but I just can't get over
how impressive this rookie is. And yeah, we just witnessed arguably,

(18:40):
I mean should arguably no doubt, the greatest rookie season
ever in the NFL. So yeah, what a time to
be a Washington Commanders fan. I think Evan putting our
chat you know last week or the week before, there
were one hundred and fifty or fifte hundred and fifty
to one, I should say, uh to win the Super
Bowl coming to this season. So what an absolute run
by the Commanders.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
That's so good, Simon. Can you believe there's only three
more NFL games left in the season. But dry your
eyes because the Action Network has some incredible YouTube shows
lined up for you this week across all of the
biggest sports. The College football National Championship betting previews Monday night,
and we've got a special BBOC Live show on YouTube

(19:24):
five pm Eastern on Monday Night with tons of bets
on the game. I love BBOC, love those guys, love
that show.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
If you want to get cut up on betting.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
NBA.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
There are NBA games all day long on Monday for
the MLK Day holiday slates, and our podcast Buckets has
a special megapod breaking down all the games. On Tuesday,
Buckets returns with a YouTube live show at eight pm
Eastern talking rivalry week, bets for the Wednesday NBA splay,

(19:55):
plus plenty of NFL Conference Championship coverage here in the
Favorit and the Action Network podcast.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
Make sure you subscribe to the Action Network YouTube page.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Amazing, Amazing stuff, Also amazing, mostly Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
The drive to the super Bowl in Philadelphia between the
Los Angeles Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles. With a bold
spirit and a firm resolved, the Los Angeles Rams fought
their way down a troubled path the land that covered
it spot in the NFC playoffs. The Philadelphia Eagles spent
their season cultivating a surly image that struck beer and

(20:33):
pain and the souls of opposing quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
Philadelphia Eagles, they were my executive decision minus six. Fucking
Jake elliott Fucking fuck Jake Elliott Man before he took
that thirty seven year old field goal, I give him credit.
He had that thirty seven year of field goal before
he made that. They had an angle from behind the goalpost,
and it honestly looked impossible, like the field is covered

(20:57):
in snow, you can't even tell which way the wind
is blowing, and he fucking stroked it. That was three
hundred yards down the fair way. And then Jalen Hurts
comes back from the knee injury to beautiful throws like
they're they're they're cranking. It started to feel like the
Rams couldn't play in the snow. Saquon busts it open.

(21:19):
He's got another two hundred plus yard game. Fucking Jake Elliott.
This is another extra point. The Rams make it interesting.
They push. I mean, I'm glad for the Eagles. I
wanted the Eagles to win, but what an excruciating push

(21:41):
that it was. It was it was unnecessary assignmon.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
Yeah, would an all times cover though you had the
Rams ticket like that. That's that's the high of highs,
like covering that, even even these back door overs, it's
the best. It's the best feeling. Everyone you win bets
that you know you shouldn't have won. And you know,
we joke all the time, like we we know the
deal of this job.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
You need a lot of luck.

Speaker 4 (22:04):
You're gonna put a ton of work in and the
work is you know, to add that, sometimes you will
get lucky. That's just part of it, right, and we
talk all the times sometimes you're gonna get unlucky. And
I knew, just as you knew when he missed that
extra point, not even the first one, but especially the
second one.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
They're gonna play prevent defense.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
We're gonna get back toward here, and that's exactly what happened.
And yeah, if you're the Rams better basically you had
three points a safety before they scored a touchdown that
final four minutes, so it's like, you gotta feel great
getting that back door covering. And we talked before coming on,
I thought that bet Eagles bet was dead when AJ
dropped that touchdown the first half. It's like, that's not

(22:45):
that's not normal. And this is the type of game
where the Eagles things just kept going wrong for them
right there in field goal range. Sack taking that field
goal range, that happened twice, like two different times, and
they punted like they they did dominate. And we talked
before the in the snow could go either way, could
be an equalizer, or could benefit the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
It definitely did not benefit them.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
That offensive line doesn't give up seven to eight sacks
in a game like that was just but.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
They also got the fumble recovery from Kyron Williams. Like
that was when the snow really started coming down and
you could feel the momentum changing a little bit, like
the Rams were not adjusting to the snow in the same.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Way that the Eagles were. But I get your point.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
I totally sure that's fair.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
And like the Eagles had a bunch of picks they dropped,
you know, the Rams never really had any opportunities for
picks like Hurts once again played pretty safe, pretty born
with the ball, and obviously before the injury, the read
option was just given the Rams nightmares. Like that first
busted run of his was like a tone setter and
something they had adjust to for the defense, which again
is going to open up everything for Saquon, which it did,

(23:48):
like you ran for two twenties. Like once again, I
can't thank Giants ownership and GM enough just the ultimate
savior for this franchise. And yeah, it's obviously the type
of game, Chad, but we were both sick to our
stomachs because it's like the grossest way to lose, but
it's it's such a great game. I'm trying not to

(24:10):
overreact to it, but obviously I'm happy it is an
ego's fan to win. But like as someone that pushed
on the six that covered eight different ways, I can't
believe it. So once again, we talk all the time.
That's the type of year it's been for us. We
can't we can't get the we can't get one missed
extra point, we have to have two in the same game.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
It's that kind of year.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
The next game truly epitomized what kind of year it's been.
As much as the Chiefs game, we benefited from so
much luck, and as much as the Commander's game, we
benefited from handicapping it exactly right and making the right call.
The Eagles game was really excruciating. I do want to

(24:53):
acknowledge your joy and your happiness.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
I mean, people probablyn tell them all a little scared
I'm gonna get into the game coming up here. But yeah,
I'm trying to tone it back a little bit because
I know, I mean, we're the.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
Most hated fan base. No one likes fucking Eagles fans.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
I love the Eagles. I love them.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
I love Philly like my favorite thing. I'm so glad
TikTok is back, just so I can.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Watch Oh God is it Yeah, it's back.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
I can watch more videos of Phillies fans going crazy
in late inning playoff games when somebody hits a grand Slam,
because those are my favorite videos on TikTok. I watch
them again and again and again. And that and the
trade Turner when everyone starts clapping for him when he's
playing badly. I love Philly fans for that. I love

(25:40):
Eagles fans. You know.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
I have a soft spot in my heart for Philly.
I love the city.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
We're on my Drexel shirt right now. Actually, so I
want you. I want you to do great. I want
you to win.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
I want you to go to the super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
Me too, Me too.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Anyways, the game that epitomized our season Baltimore a Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
This was our big balls bet.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Of the week, the under fifty one and a half.
This was our scoot roulette. You love Buffalo, I didn't.
I didn't hate Buffalo. I just kind of believe more
in Baltimore. And then, of course, like that first half,
there's thirty one points scored because Lamar's got two picks
and a fumble. They have more turnovers in one game

(26:27):
than they have in the entire season in a game
and it's like, are you fucking kidding me? And then
the second half plays exactly the way we thought it
would until Lamar backdoors us with a turns out meaningless
touchdown lands at fifty two.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
I mean, come on, are you fucking kidding me?

Speaker 1 (26:47):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (26:48):
Playoff Lamar, Chad, you believed in playoff Lamar?

Speaker 3 (26:52):
What's what's it feel like the day the day a
game after you believe in players? Serious thing? What is
this thing?

Speaker 1 (26:59):
I truly didn't believe in playoff Lamar. My mistake. My
mistake was I believed in offensive coordinator Todd Monkin realizing
don't put the ball in playoff Lamar's hands.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
He's got to have. It's the playoffs. What are they
going to do?

Speaker 2 (27:22):
You have a brilliant running game.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
We saw what happened in the second half, and you
can say, okay, like what they did in the first
half set up the running for the second half. But
there were three or four plays in the first half,
including a couple of the passing plays that went decidedly
badly for the Ravens, where they should have been running
the ball, and they they kept trying to throw the ball.

(27:47):
It made no sense to me the Bills. How many
yards did Josh Allen th for one hundred and thirty
right like he had ninety six in the fourth quarter?
They had the perfect offensive game plan. Hold on, I
know Matt Mitchell is going to want to come on,
because I know he's got strong feelings about this.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Matt Mitchell.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
I know like this means something different to you than
it does assignment because they have one Super Bowl recently.
But I would like you to come on and talk
to me as a Bills fan if my feelings were displaced,
and how you were feeling right now.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Hey, Chad, listen to me.

Speaker 6 (28:25):
There was a time when we would refer to this
show as the most illiterate gambling podcast.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
Do you remember that?

Speaker 6 (28:33):
I do because of that, I'd like to share something
very private. If you're a Bills fan and you're listening
to this on a Monday morning, you're driving around or
doing whatever. Probably not if you're driving around, but I
want you to close your eyes. I want you to
listen to this very carefully.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
Okay.

Speaker 6 (28:48):
This is a quote from arguably the greatest novelist of
all time, Dostavski, and I repeat this to myself before
every important Bills game, because I think it epitomizes the
Bill's experience in a win or more frequently in a loss.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Ready, here we go.

Speaker 6 (29:09):
And I seem to have such strengthen me now that
I think I could stand anything, any suffering, only to
be able to say and to repeat to myself in
every moment. I exist in thousands of agonies.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
I exist.

Speaker 6 (29:27):
I'm tormented on the rack, but I exist. Chad, though
I sit alone on a pillar, I exist. I see
the sun, and if I do not see the sun,
I know.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
It is there.

Speaker 6 (29:42):
And there's a whole life in that, Chad Noman in
knowing that the sun is there. End quote, And Chad,
that son came out today feels great. It's it wasn't
our turn to have a haunting, crushing, season ending loss.
It was two other franchises turns, and it feels really good.

(30:02):
Just feels great to not be haunted by the events
of tonight's game.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Listen, that was beautiful. I think we still are the
most literate betting podcast. Back in the days before TikTok
and phones and all that kind of stuff, the only
book I would bring with me on the road when
I was working was Crime and Punishment, because I felt
like if my only option was do my work, go

(30:28):
through my notes, start writing my story, or read Crime
and Punishment.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
I would do the work.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
So I love that you quoted Dustyevski on this podcast.

Speaker 6 (30:40):
And this game felt like both a crime and a punishment,
so that's very appropriate.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
It was.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
And for the record, I never got through Crime and Punishment.
So but that's my point about this game, Simon, is like,
it's not that I believed in Lamar.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
I believed it.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
You did.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
I believe that the co we're gonna put him in better.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
No excuse we had we I tried to beat it
into You had the Bills as a home dog and
our friend Matt Mitchell's team.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
We believed.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
We believed in the Bills, we believed in Josh Allen.
We did not believe in Lamar, and we are rewards.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
We won. We won the bet.

Speaker 4 (31:18):
Yeah, even better, the plus two on the Ravens covered,
so once again the early number Man the books were
so sharp this week. I think Evan had a great tweet.

(31:38):
All all four dogs covered against the closing number. Pretty wild,
Uh a weekend, and yeah, like Lamar, you know it's
to give me the lowest of hanging fruit just to
bash him on it. But it's like even the old
fans have to come to the realization, Like even Chad knows,
if like they he even said, if they just ran

(32:00):
the ball, probably are coming out on top of that matchup.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
And it's two years in a row.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
I think we could all agree, back to back years,
they're the best team, no doubt in the AFC, all around,
best defense, best offense, all of it, and brutal nothing
to show for it. I mean, you might get three
MVPs out of it, which is you know, that's awesome,
that's fun, But that's a fan base that they they
have two super Bowls, they want more and yeah, just

(32:29):
brutal for Lamar that that that pick of his is
something that just does not happen with him. And you
know that funbled I believe with the sixth of the season,
another thing that just does not happen. It all happened
within ten minutes of one another. In that game, and
they fought back. Bill's gave them a chance, right, they
came out and we're not smart in that second half, right,

(32:49):
trying to try, like you said, trying to run the
clock out for thirty minutes was just idiotic. But then
once they got hit in the mouth, it kind of
woke back up Josh Allen once again. Well I thought
you'd be the MVP, stepped up with this nameless team,
and they just went in different ways. And yeah, that's
that was a incredible winning just like a nice cap

(33:11):
of an incredible weekend of games and uh perfect any
of us getting burned on our under at that last
second drive and just you know, it sucks to go
out that way because it was such a fun weekend
of games, but it's also what we love doing. We
love gambling, and it's never over till it's over. It's
always his last second sweat. So yeah, that was that
was a brutal way to cap it. But what what

(33:32):
a what a game, what a way to end it?
And yeah, Josh Allen, man, holy.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
Shit, awesome.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
We you know what you said it right, awesome weekend
of betting.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
Every Actually I said it right because I set it
up as every every emotion, Yeah, every element that you
get from the thrill.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
And agony of betting we got in every game.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
We had no business thinking we were going to cover
that under and then we are privileged enough to think
we should have covered that because of the way it ended.
That's the beauty of betting. Let's talk about these conference
championship games. Washington at Philadelphia. It opened at four and
a half. I'm seeing a lot of five and a

(34:13):
half's out there already. I betted at four and a
half immediately because I wanted to get it ahead of news.
Jalen Hurts would be playing. My sense is that he
would have been that he was going to be and
then he said I feel confident. So the number I
think ticked up a little bit.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
We don't know for sure.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
We're just you know, all we know is that he
finished the game, so he must not have structural damage.
He's probably just gonna have to play in pain.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
You know.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
I don't know if you have a strong opinion about
this yet. In Week sixteen in Washington, the Eagles were
four and a half point favorites. In Week eleven in Philly,
they were four point favorites.

Speaker 4 (34:55):
Yeah, and it's really is a heavy debate right now.
What's the injuries and what's I know, the Egles team,
so lucky for us, you know, we're gonna break down
two games now for the next two shows we have
coming up on Tuesday and Thursday, so obviously so much
opinions are going to be made over the next two days.
And as we say right now, don't really have one.
My model likes the Eagles. Like I before we came

(35:15):
on here, I was talking to you, and it's like, okay,
let's just see what the computers are thinking here.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
It's it's the same thing with the Rams. It's it's
a flat seven.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
So once again, just like the Rams, Eagles, I had
them at minus seven have a minus seven again against
this Washington team. And that's not that big of a shocker, right,
Like that's the Eagles. We talked about them and Detroit
Lions were not that big of a difference to most
professionals when they grained out. That's why the Egles were
a better value headed into this playoffs on Super Bowl
future bets, because you know, they were five hundred or

(35:43):
plus five hundred, where Detroit the books had in the
plus two fifty it was. And you know, we talked
about a little bit that that value just seemed off
to us just because that Eagles were seemed like egals Lions.
So I thought the books have priced the Eagles the
same as they did with the Lions. But I think
the opening lines kind of showing the books or show
in respect to Jane Daniels and how graven offense they
are and the fact that Hurts did get a bum.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
Knee in this game. And there is some questions here.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
So, like you just said, some books our sponsor here,
bethru six five opened at four and a half. A
lot of books now are already moving to five and
a half. So it chows early money here, professional money
obviously thinks Eagles are you know Jalen Hurts. Eagles are fine,
and you know both teams have major injuries, like the
Commanders lost their best guard.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Yeah, yeah, he's done for the season. Eagles.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
You know Quinna Mitchell, he had his shoulder injury, left
the game after that big hit on Stafford. I believe
in the first quarter never return. We just talked about,
Hurts might have abom knee. Isaiah Rodgers might be banging
up another cornerback for the Eagles. Like okay, Eagles are
now losing their one number one starting corner and maybe
their backup starting corner. That's a big deal in your
face of something like Jane daneos so yeah, so much

(36:54):
your breakdown this game. My early opinion obviously, you know,
I think there's value in this Egles team, But I'm
not rushing a bet at just because if he is
legit banged up, what's the adrenaline runs off for wears
out from Hurtz. We can actually know what's going on
with his knee. That's when I'll take a stand and
make a pick here. But yeah, if you want to
grab the early line, there are four and a halfs
out there if you want to grab Eagles now, just

(37:15):
in case the line does mo.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
I think you did right, Chad.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
Yeah, I took the four and a half.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
There are two foreign I have seven books listed in
front of me on the Action Network odds page, and
two of them are at four and a half, three
are at five and a half, and uh two are
at five, including bet three six five is now at five.
That's everyone opened at four and a half and bet
three six five is now at five.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
I just bet it because I thought it was going
to go up and and I'm I'm making a bet
that Jalen Hurts is going to play if he walked
off the field, if they let him go back on
the field with.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
Nothing more than a rap.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
Then I'm assuming there's no structural damage and he's gonna
be on the field like they're gonna shoot him up.

Speaker 2 (37:59):
It's gonna take whatever needs to take. He's going to
be on the field.

Speaker 4 (38:03):
And I'll beat into your guys head on Tuesday and
Thursday show. But it's a unique opportunity, a unique spot.
You basically have a rookie in the conference finals. This
has only happened five times before. Last time happened was
Brock Purty against this Eagles team in Philadelphia Rookies Conference
Finals zero for five straight up. So that's just something
to remember when before you bet this game.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
Perty did get knocked out of that game after about
three plays.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
I think.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
The Chiefs opens one and a half point favorites over
the Buffalo Bills. I immediately bet the Chiefs at one
and a half.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
Yeah, you know, I mean, I just broke it down.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
I'm telling you that I'm agreeing with you.

Speaker 4 (38:49):
Yeah, I'm just saying like, there's no I'm in total
agrees with you. There's no shock here. Whatever the Chiefs
are going to be as long as they were going
to be under three, I was going to be on them.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
If it's if it ever got to three plus three.

Speaker 4 (39:01):
How do you not take Josh Allen at a plus
three against this Chiefs team, Like this is going to
be what we expect, what we just saw that Ravens game,
last possession, ball in hand, chance, the winner, tie, either
quarterback is going to have that opportunity. Just does not
feel like a type of game that gets blown out.
And you know, we just nailed the Bills teaser seven

(39:21):
and a half, you can do it once again. You
want to take the Bills of seven and a half
right now? The books are letting you. They're giving me
the one and a half.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
Hook right here.

Speaker 4 (39:28):
So yeah, early bets, I'm with Chad. I'm taking Chiefs
right now. And same thing I modeled this out. It's
minus two and a half. So right now, technically you're
getting good value in the Chiefs. So you know, to me,
that's the move to make right now. Like I like
the value of the Chiefs, and I do think Professions
will join us on this one, just because I maybe

(39:51):
the public have come around the Chiefs because of that
last game, but I still feel like there's so much
doubt in the media and a lot of people the
way they view this Chiefs team. They're not that good.
And yeah, it's hard. As much as I love Josh Allen,
now we have to finally go against him. It's hard.
But me and Chad, I think we both agree we've
learned our lesson. It's Mahomes under three in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
You got to take them here.

Speaker 1 (40:13):
Yeah, I mean Mahomes is an underdog of lesson three,
as an underdog period as a favorite of lesson three.
Line when they last played in Buffalo was two and
a half.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
By the way, what do you.

Speaker 3 (40:24):
Think of this total before we hop off? Did you
look at it?

Speaker 2 (40:27):
I haven't even looked at it yet.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
Forty and a half feels high, crazy high for arrowhead.

Speaker 2 (40:33):
Feels really high for aerohead.

Speaker 3 (40:35):
And two running teams.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
In January and two running teams, let's be real, these
two quarterbacks. They barely got to fifty two. Yeah, in
this Buffalo Baltimore game. And Baltimore has had a much
more explosive offense than Kansas City all year long.

Speaker 2 (40:56):
That's interesting.

Speaker 4 (40:57):
Yeah, it definitely was like the first thing, gentle mean,
as much as I obviously I'm jumping on the Chiefs number. Yeah,
that was just something to jumped out where it's like
a key number forty and a half. I'm just gonna
tick the under now and then we'll see where the
market goes. But yeah, for early bets, cha, I took
a stand on the Eagles game. I got nothing on
that one yet, But for this one, I'm definitely chiefs

(41:18):
in the under and our first instinct to go with
this one.

Speaker 2 (41:22):
Exciting.

Speaker 1 (41:23):
I mean, I'm so sad we only got three games left,
but what a great fucking weekend of just sitting on
the couch.

Speaker 2 (41:31):
My wife did say to me, by the way, I.

Speaker 1 (41:34):
Predicted, my wife said to me Friday morning, Hey can
we go out with sell? And so on Saturday night,
I'm like, I gotta watch the games.

Speaker 2 (41:44):
I gotta work. She goes, yeah, you gotta work watching football.
But I didn't have to go anywhere.
