(00:22):
in the NFL and you're not watching the Super Bowl
because your team didn't make it, then you're definitely a
sports baby. Unless it's Josh Allen. He gets the pass.
Josh Allen only guy that if he doesn't watch, I'm like,
I get it because he can't stomach the sight of
Mahomes in there again. If him and Haley Steinfeld said
we're gonna go Cabo or Hawaii and take a break,
you understand, I get it. Okay, So we're Cavino and Rich.
Jaden Daniel says he's probably gonna watch because he's not bitter,
(00:46):
and we're gonna be out there in New Orleans, very
excited about that. We actually hit Vegas this weekend for
the fight, bringing the action to you, Benavidez Fighting. Then
to the Super Bowl. Steve Cavino, Rich Davis Dandy G
Sam Spotty Buyer, thank you for rocking out with the
US broadcasting live from the ty rack dot Com studio
tyrack dot com. We'll help you get there an unmatched selection, fast,
(01:06):
free shipping, free road hazard protection over ten thousand recommended
in installers tyrack dot com a tire buying should be
and after the show our podcast goes up. Danny G
does a great job with that, and be sure to
check out over promised every Thursday. In fact, last week
we had two bonus podcasts. A really fun interview with
Clay Matthews, former packer and RAM for one year. My
(01:28):
mom watched it. She said that he was amazing and
easy on the eyes. I was like, ill, dudem wants
to Yeah. I was like what easy? He's married with kids,
so were you? Anyway, it was a great and it
left me for Clayton Matthews. He's my new stepdad, but
really dad. He was surprisingly not that. I had low
(01:49):
expectations for Clay Matthews, but he exceeded all my expectations.
He was a great interview, a great hang. We definitely
catch it on Fox Sports Radios YouTube page. We left
that interview h saying to each other. How is Clay
Matthews not on a Fox or CBS or ESPN pregame
or post game. Yeah, he was a natural, no offense.
He's way better than multiple members of all of those
(02:11):
network shows. He was really good, like real good. So
we have a lot of people on hold. I want
to get to your phone calls in regards to Jade
Daniel saying he's probably gonna watch because we were like, well,
there's certain things you don't look back on or you
don't want to deal with, like your ex girlfriend an
ex wife's social media account. Do you look I know
I don't, but some people do. Some people do. He
(02:33):
doesn't mind watching the Super Bowl, implying that a lot
of people don't want to watch it. What about actors
who don't watch their projects? I've never seen it with
your thoughts on that. I saw a real cool video
of ray Ramono. I'm sorry, I only do it by
a rare Romano. That's a great impression, by the way,
it's got a close your nose. Yeah, hey, it's me
a rare Romano who I loved on. Obviously, everybody loves Raymond.
(03:00):
I loved him on that Netflix show. I'm drawing a
blank on the name of it spot, Can you please
tell me? Ray Ramono Netflix, Lisa Kudro, I think it's
called the schnaz Sna. But that was no good deed.
I believe, no good deed.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
No.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
I guess I was thinking of another show. But Ray
Ramano recently said he went back and watched every episode
of Everybody Loves Raymond and he he He's like, I
got time on my hands these days, and he rated
each episode like, oh, that was a really good one. Oh,
that one's sort of stunk. Like he went back and
he has like a chart. Yeah, That's what I'm doing
(03:33):
these days. Funny. I saw a clip recently of Zoey
p Chanell saying that she's never seen the movie Elf
because someone asked her, like it was around the holidays,
like do you watch Elf every year? She's like, actually,
I've never seen that. Give me a break, Come on,
come on, really missing.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Out after the super Bowl when you guys get a
few days off. I want you to pull a Ray
Romano and rate every podcast I've ever published.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Danny, I'll tell you what I actually do. Listen a lot.
I don't mind. You could was our podcast and insert
me saying like, I am Rich Davis, and I am
a huge weenie, and I wouldn't even know because I
lived it, So you can make fun of me. I
don't go back. That's not out of bitterness, that's out
of like, I lived it right right, that's the pee
Wee Herman theory. So because he didn't watch his big adventure,
(04:18):
he lived it. Never Yeah, lived it. Let's take your
phone calls in this hour. We got Midweek Major, the
biggest stories in the world of the sports and pop culture,
and we still got to talk NBA. Adam Silver, he
said some interesting stuff here on the Dan Patrick Show.
So how about this phone calls will hit up the
Adam Silver story, and then Spot's got Midweek Maker and
we'll do that. All right. Dwayne, what's up, Dwayne Odessa?
(04:41):
You're on with Coven on Retchay.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Buddy, Hey, guys, I have to admit I'm probably the
biggest sports baby after my team is out of the NFL,
I shut it down till August. I hate to admit it,
but that's just the way it goes. I haven't watched
a Super Bowl in probably twenty five years.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Must be a couple. Let's figure it out. Twenty five
years old. I he's a huge fan of the Tennessee
Titans or the Giant. That's so weird because he's from
a huge football town.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
I mean Panthers, baby, But you don't want you don't
watch the biggest game, Dwayne.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Are you a Cowboys fan?
Speaker 3 (05:15):
No, I'm not at all.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Who's your team? I appreciate your honest stard history, right,
but I just I just can't wrap my head around that,
Like how big. It's like, you're a great guy. I'm
not judging you for me. For me, it feels very baby.
I mean we are in a group chat, could you
know not with some of our pals. Yeah, and our
buddy Mike in Kentucky, who he has his take of
(05:42):
Like he's so like he's the guy that's fed up
with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey and he's like, oh
the treefs. He's like, I'm not watching the super Bowl.
Everyone on this group threat is busting his ball. He's like,
what do you mean you're not watching the super Bowl.
It's like, maybe I'll take my kids bowling. I'm like,
stop being a loser. Watch the super Bowl. You're not
on the team. What do you do it's even weaker.
So because show tail a shoft the whole time. I'm like,
(06:04):
why do you care so much? You don't have to
be clued into it, but like to ignore it. It's odd. However,
if if you're a man, I was gonna say, if
you're a woman, that would have been sexist. If you're
a woman or a man that doesn't like football, I
do hear it is a great day to go to
a theme park. I've heard like Disney World, Disneyland, Universe. Like,
if you really are that like apathetic, I don't give
a crap, that is a good day to hit that up.
(06:28):
Makes sense? Yeah, Richard in Florida, what's up, buddy boy?
Speaker 5 (06:34):
Hey you guys. Yeah, man, I know what it's like
to sit there and be, you know, right there before
the super Bowl when those guys lose and they lose
and look like they've been lost their dog. You just
made a super Bowl, you just fit a second in
the US Open. You just won three million dollars, but
you lost.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
I was in a World Series of Poker, won half
a million dollars, very thrilled, very happy, very well adjusted,
twelve million dollars. First flies. But to be within to
be within two tables of the bracelet. To be sitting
there with a bracelet that day, it was like I'd
lost my dog. So I totally get it. But Jaydon Daniels,
you lose by thirty, You're okay, Yeah, sit there and
(07:12):
you're Josh Allen and you lose that.
Speaker 6 (07:14):
I mean, I don't know how you get up in
the morning.
Speaker 7 (07:15):
Now.
Speaker 6 (07:16):
Of course, Richard, I.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Feel you one hundred percent of that. As a Niners fan,
I watched Receiver on Netflix and they go through the
emotions of Debo and Kittle because those are two of
the receivers they followed, and you could see when you
lose the Super Bowl in overtime, you kick a field goal,
but the other team responds with a touchdown. You can't
get closer to winning a Super Bowl. You were in
(07:39):
the red zone. I like kind of settle for a
field goal. It's a nightmare. I like having these conversations
because it does make you explore and I am understanding
a little more why it's so hard, and I get it.
You're not supposed to like it because you didn't make it.
And then I started thinking based on what he said
just now, and it was a great call. Thank you?
You think Eric Stultz ever sat there and watched back
(08:00):
to the future and said to himself, you know, Michael J.
Fox did a really great job. I'm happy he got it.
It's a good question, I know. Like so I can
see that, Like when you come so close to getting
something great, it is kind of hard. I find the
joy in the project or game that went on without you.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
You were rich artists who pass up on songs and
another artist as a huge mungus hit with that song.
Can they ever hear that song and you.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Can not be mad? Yeah? A lot of times I
feel what you're saying. A lot of times, if they
are successful on their own, they have the ability to say, eh,
what are you gonna do? But if they don't have success,
I heard too recently. I mean we all know that
it wasn't a Prince who gave nothing compares to you
to Shinead O'Connor. Yeah, because he thought man and ended
up being as bigger, bigger than most of Prince's singles.
(08:47):
I heard recently Britney Spears and her team said, now
we don't want this song, it's trash, and they gave
it to Rihanna. That song is Umbrella. Yeah, that was
supposed to be a pretty serious Do you think Amanda
Ifried watched Wicked because she was very close to getting
that arian Like, do you think she watched it? I
was like, you know, she really did a great job.
(09:08):
Or is there a bit or you see those things
on TikTok. I recently saw all the so maybe I
got to look at it from that perspective. If you
had a good team and it bothers you, maybe you
can understand why they don't. They don't watch, but I mean,
it's funny you should. You'd be shocked at like they're
missing out. I mean, I know it's a random movie,
but I believe it was just celebrated its twentieth anniversary
last year. Mean Girls. I just saw one of those
(09:30):
TikTok clips of all the young hot actresses at the
time that were auditioning, and they were all big names,
and even the dude, the dude that got the role
in Mean Girls, who I don't really even know who
that was. A listers were lining up for those roles.
So it is interesting, very similar to be an actor
(09:51):
who passed on a role or just came so close.
It's sort of like an athlete getting to the championship
and losing, Like, do you really want to live it?
Speaker 3 (09:58):
All?
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Right, We'll take one more phone call, and again the
story was Jade and Daniels said today that he's not bitter.
He was sick to his stomach when they lost. Not bitter.
Is probably going to watch the Super Bowl. So I
thought it was like, well, why wouldn't you? But I
guess we're kind of explaining why Jake got You don't
have to agree with it, but at least we got
to the bottom of it. What's up Jake fort Loda deal?
Speaker 6 (10:19):
It was going on, Fellows. A big fan of you
ors just stumbled on to you guys recently driving around
here in South Florida.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Thanks man, love the show Man.
Speaker 6 (10:26):
You guys are awesome. Two quick things. As a Cowboys fan,
I will definitely be hate watching and Rudy Piefs and
all the Swifties out there. Unfortunately, I know a lot
of people don't want to hear that, but it's just
the way it is, you know, as a Cowboys fan,
it's just that there's no way I can root for
the Eagles. Yeah. And also, going back to the Premia
(10:47):
Tech and you guys came out with The Crows and Remedy,
and one of you guys mentioned that was it on
Shaker money Maker. That is actually off of the second album,
Southern Harmony of Musical Companions. And I just say this
to say, if you guys are clothes fans or not,
I've seen them a few times. I've never seen a
band sound better live than they do on a record.
If you've never seen them live, to yourself, davor and
(11:08):
check them out.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Jake, you're not the first to say that. I've heard
many of rock fans say Black Crows are one of those,
Like yo, if you could see them live, even unreal
if you listen to Hard to Handle. There's two versions
of it. There's the album version and then there's a
live version with the horn section, and you're like, man,
that live version is so much better than the regular out. Yeah,
(11:30):
there's there's a horn version of that song that's way
more powerful and cool.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
And their band has history on this time slot right
here on the network, as Steve Gorman, their drummer, used
to be on the air talking sports.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
He unfortunately is not their drummer anymore.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
They kind of cool pushed them out, but yes, we
Steve Gorman very well.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Thanks for the yeah, and they're a great, great band.
Thank you Jake for the call. Thank you guys for
hanging out with us, Fox Sports Radio. And by the way,
speaking of the Super Bowl, do you guys have plans?
You guys, we're doing a party in my place? Or
what do you do? You have super Bowl plans? Not yet?
I mean we're gonna be there for the whole week,
obviously broadcasting the actual game. I don't know. Going to
Magic Mountain? Yeah, man, I am gonna go to Nott's
(12:10):
very farm. Now that you mentioned, yes, we'll see you
make on that. Why I hit Disney with spot make
your strong bold, drop it off it and go well together.
I want to be on Space Mountain. Bro. It's actually,
you know what, not a terrible idea, but I can
never miss the Super Bowl. That sounds ridiculous. Let's uh,
(12:33):
let's shift our attention one second to the NBA only
because listen, if you if you, if you ask me personally,
what am I interested in? It's like football, football, football,
Baseball's coming, Baseball's coming, football, football, baseball. Oh yeah, you've
been talking a lot about shrinking about that. And Rick
(12:54):
Marianus over here. It's no, no, not not Honey Kids,
although he does talk about all the Oh he loves
that movie too huge, Rick Moranas fan, did you know that?
I mean, who is not? Who isn't exactly, But let
me tell you, I see you guys, you feed into
my add and then you blame me when I go
on a tangent. So f you all. I watched Honey
(13:14):
A Shrunk The Kids a couple months ago with my children.
You know, we always talk about what movies stand the
test of time, Back to the Future, Goonies, you know,
there's always those home alone. There's movies that are any
generational love. My kids loved Honey A shunkd Kids. That's awesome.
You forget it's like an hour and forty minutes. Rick moranis,
remember There in the Grass with the Ant. People forgot
(13:35):
about that one.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
They made all the sets by hand, and I've seen
some behind the scenes from that movie.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
It is incredible, these sets. So it really is. Danny
g you're.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Still mad at them for replacing Captain EO to Disneyland.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
Dan Bayer, you guys both have little kids when they're
a little older. It really does hold up. But to
the NBA. Now, honey, a shunk the kids? What's up?
Rick Moranas, Adam Silver. I credit this guy because he
is trying to figure out solutions to the NBA losing reviewership.
(14:08):
Like he's not just sitting on his hands. Seems proactive
and open to suggestions, and that's really cool. I think
that's all you really want. And he's open to good
conversations I've heard among Colin and Dan Patrick. Listen. It's
not easy as just saying move the three point one,
do this, do that. It's this is a like if
you're going to make a change to something, it has
(14:28):
to be completely thought out, pros and cons and what
we'll do. And there's the latest one. Take a listen, Adam.
Speaker 8 (14:38):
CBIA is the only league that plays forty eight minutes.
I am a fan of four ten minute quarters. Putting
inside what it means for records and things like that.
I think that a two hour format for a game
is more consistent with sort of modern television habitat.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
So two hours, not two and a half hours. I
was on our Pale Dan Patrick this morning. I don't
I just wonder if that solves anything. Take away two
minutes of a quarter I know you're saying too, I
think it helps. I think he's onto something there. Again,
the question is would the NBA benefit from shorter games
(15:14):
but two minutes a quarter? You know too, I think
a lot of these sports, and we've seen it in
baseball work would benefit according to today's attention span. I mean,
so I know what fourth quarter two minutes is like
when your wife says I'll be ready in two minutes,
and it's like, yeah, but don't you judge what movies
you're gonna watch based on the length of time I do.
I'll take a look at it. How long is it?
I don't know if I'm in the mood for that.
(15:35):
I'll be honest, I need it around one thirty to one,
like forty eight.
Speaker 6 (15:38):
You know.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Anything more than that, I'm like, yeah, I'll be honest.
I my YouTube clip and it's more than ten minutes,
I'm like, yeah, that's gonna be rough. Kavino's right about
the movies. If my wife and I saw Wicket in
the theater with my daughter, my wife stillsn't seen it,
and every night when it's like ten o'clock and the
kids are sleeping, I'm like, yeah, just by the way, that.
(16:01):
I can't even believe that for as much as you
talk about that movie, your wife hasn't seen it. I
took my daughter with her like palate. I can't It's
streaming on TV, though, I can't believe she doesn't see
it well because every night. My point is it goes
to what you're saying. It's two hours in like fifty minutes.
So when my kids finally fall asleep and they're done
saying mom, Dad, I need water, what about to watch
a quick forty eight minute episode of something. When when
(16:23):
ten o'clock hits and the mic, you know, pop an
edible time, watch GA, we go to bed. You think
two hours and fifteen minutes a wicket on a week
that it's gonna work. You're right, and that's the thinking
behind it. So and I get what Rich's saying to
Rich is saying, yeah, but is that gonna solve the
I think it solves one of the problems. I don't
think that changes everything. That's just part of it. But
(16:44):
at least he's open to the games are one hundred
to eighty eight instead of one fifteen to one hundred.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
I mean, think about some boxing matches where at the
start there's that feeling out before the either boxer really
starts to throw their punches. Some NBA games can lag
a little bit in the first quarter because the teams
are just kind of feeling each other out. There's some
sloppy beginnings sometimes. I think with this the beginning of
each quarter, you'd have to come in a little more focused.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
I know, I know, I kind of like it to
go with your analogy. When we watched Mike Tyson Jake Paul. Now,
I know that wasn't a legitimate like like regular fight
two minute rounds, say they should get Rosie Press. But
those that quick, those quick rounds, what was it, two
minutes round eight rounds eight? Eight two minute rounds, yeah, eight,
(17:30):
those felt two short. Yeah, the eight ten minute rounds
did feel like, oh geez, we're already ending the round.
So I don't know, I mean, listen, I'm not you
know me, I'm never the guy that's like stupid idea
because I always go by it. But again, you're company
from that older guy perspective, right, young people, yeah, very
slightly older. I'm middle aged girl. Man. The NBA's in
(17:51):
the business age of getting new fans and younger people
and next generation, and I I would say their opinion
matters a lot. And I wonder how they felt about
the rounds and the Tyson fight. You know, their attention
span is non existent, so what may seem a little
too quick to us might be right on target for
(18:13):
most people. You're younger, are you trying to say what
might be right for you may not be right for
some Something like that, different strokes for different phone. What's up?
I watched an episode the other night.
Speaker 7 (18:23):
Arnold was having bad dreams because he was worried that
mister Drummond was gonna be injured their eye on his
plane crash.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
Yeah, it was a whole deal. At least it wasn't
the Dudley Bike shop at Oh no, oh gosh, Yeah,
that's the worst. I was going to say that.
Speaker 7 (18:38):
One of the things that when you play video games,
you always had to adjust early on and how long
your quarters should be for like a football game, because
you wanted realistic stats, but you can't play a fifteen
minute quarter because it's just way too much, and then
then the game's altered with it. I remember when Little
League Baseball came out on Nintendo and I'm playing my
buddy and it's just six inning game amazing because every
(19:03):
it wasn't elongate into a nine inning on RBI or whatever.
When it was six innings, it was great. And that
that sense of urgency just to shorten anything, I think
is pretty valuable.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
And if this would do it, then by all means
the album And it was the same thing with baseball
and everything else is affecting the stats moving forward. And
he addressed that on the Dan Patrick Show. And honestly,
as Gary Vayner, Chuck said, and we quote him all
the time, innovate or die, you have to make those
adjustments too, And he said that what was the quote,
(19:36):
actually two hour format to adhere to modern habits of
today or something like that.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
I feel like anytime, which is very rare, anytime I
watch an NBA game, it's feels so disjointed because it's
like they play a little foul, then you got to
wait for that to reset, and then you have the
foul shots and then play a little more foul. People
are flopping. It's like there's nothing smooth about watching an
NBA game.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
That's a lot of stops. It's too much stopping.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
And maybe tightening up the time would force you to
not allow as much stoppage because you have to here
to this clock.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Well, I know Danny's saying that. Danny, Danny's point. As
far as the feel out, You're right, it's like round
one or two of a prize fight. If the first
quarter does feel a little like sloppy, like yeah, let's
you know, we're not we're not moving the ball. You know,
we're taking our time and transition feeling it out, maybe
you eliminate that. It's such a first quarter vibe. If
(20:26):
you listen to Covino and Rich when we're filling in
for Dan Patch, you mean, the world famous Covino in
the world, famously in our show when we have an
extra hour, you know how he comes shot out of
a cannon when we do this show. When we do
that show, we're like, yeah, yeah, he's going up warm
into it. Yeah, you're rich, So would you do last?
Speaker 2 (20:43):
No, that's a great point because when I make the
best of when we fill in for DPS.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
We have a whole extra hour.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
To Yeah, am, I'll usually start with your first monologue
from hour two because an hour one, I feel like
you're waking up and warming up.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Yeah, And that's a great analogy that we have all
this extra time, you know, when we're doing our two
hour condensed Covino and Rich it's like bam bam, bam bam.
I could wrap this up with, you know something super
relevant and very important. Men's softball, Oh grown men's softball.
The games are set at an hour, fifteen minutes, seven innings,
(21:19):
and a lot of times you can only get six
innings in because they'll be like, hey, we got four
minutes left, six inning. That's you gotta call it. On
the weekend, once in a while, the guys will get
together for a pickup game, no umpires, no time limit,
and some of the guys are like, hey, you guys
want to play like nine innings today. I don't have
a wife for kids, so I got nothing doing. And
people are like, no, I'm I'm cool with the the
(21:41):
hour fifteen quick getaway, like six seven innings in and out.
People have lives and out, too much things to do,
too much too. We'll say this, Let's get props to
the Dan Patrick Show, and more props to Adam Silver
because he's on the right track. He's on the right track. Innovator,
die make the game shorter. Don't worry, worry, about the stats.
(22:02):
It doesn't matter as much as we thought it did.
We learned that in baseball. Dan Byer made a great
point the Little League video game with six innings. It's
the sweet spot and that's where we are in today's world.
And basketball has to catch up too, along with some
other adjustments. But it's not the only adjustment they need
to make. I mean, you ain't kiddon think about the
length of videos they watch on TikTok and Instagram all day.
(22:24):
You're gonna watch exactly all right, Hey spot midweek Major
get a cute up all the headlines sports, entertainment, life.
We do that next right here? Could we don't rich?

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Coveno and Rich get you over the Middle of the
Week where mid Week Major Major.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
I love that we throw sports and pop culture headlines
and topics at the fellas and it's like the kids.
Speaker 6 (24:53):
Say, that's summit.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
We definitely pat here see it our scoring Midweek Major.
Can we give Spotty at least eight minutes? Yeah? Wow,
Oh we're gonna say time. But something that's never been
done on in Week Major. I just felled the twelve,
So he's not gonna wow. Just hold on, buddy, You're
not gonna meet me, not even war of this. You
just nixed it. Just give up, just give up. I
(25:16):
rolled the twelve. Three referees gave that dice. Some refs
gave that.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Dice to Coveno, speaking of all right, and now, ladies
and gentlemen, the most famous person besides Judy Bloom from
Scotch Plains New Jersey, spotty boy.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
All the hot takes. All right, you just said the refs, dangy,
thanks for the jump off. As the Chiefs head to
New Orleans.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
The narrative continues that the refs are always lead in
favor of the Chiefs.
Speaker 6 (25:40):
Well.
Speaker 4 (25:40):
Dean Blandino, former NFL head of officiating, has said that
the narrative is absolutely preposterous.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Blendino actually is on our team.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
Fox Sports analyst oversaw the refs from twenty thirteen to
twenty seventeen, and he said that there's absolutely no word
from Roger Goodell about this narrative or this script. He said,
if there's a room somewhere at the NFL offices where
they're writing the script, they never invited me, and I
was the head of officiating. I feel like i'd be
a pretty important contributor to that. He didn't meet that
(26:10):
admit that teams sometimes do get breaks and things lean
in their favor, but there's no script at all.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Midwiker major. I think it's major because it's a stupid
story that's always discussed. It always comes up after a
big game. People really seem to believe it, and we
often say, if you're innocent, scream it from the mountain. Listen.
This is weak. Why is it weak that Dean Blandino
(26:36):
even has to say this, Yeah, but I'm glad you
he has to say it's not scripted. Are you a
bird brain? You would think it's scripted? How many people
say your hand up your ass? You know I mean?
And by the way he says, it's preposterous, but it's
not impossible. As we discussed yesterday, it happened in the NBA.
Fixes happened in the NBA. I don't I don't think
(26:57):
there's a script. I don't think there's you know, I don't.
I think it's you know, all rigged. But teams do
get good calls, and the chiefs have got good calls.
Yet there's guys like Nick right on FS one where
it was like the stat show that in fact, the
chiefs get less calls, like you could you know, you
could make an.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Angle any way you on not in the playoffs, though,
Rich look at the stat I just sent you.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
She just sent this a stat. In playoff games since
twenty twenty one, the Chiefs have had zero games with
more penalties than their opponents. Zero ten games where the
other team has had more penalties. You could say discipline,
or you could say mahomes hangs with the Chiefs, like
all the meme said. So, maybe it's not scripted, but
(27:39):
as we suspected, calls go certain teams. Ways, all right,
because I only have like two more weeks of Kelsey
and the Swift News, let me work it all in now. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
So, first, apparently Taylor Swift huge fan of our boyfriend,
not only on the field but off the field. Apparently
she listens to the New Heights podcast. Did you know
that where you wait to hear that? Kelthy Brothers shared
The Kelsey Brothers shared the big news this week. Apparently
one of their interns ran into Swift, and Swift had
nothing but glowing reviews about the podcast, as she listens
(28:10):
every week as a huge fan, loves it, and the
interns were really thrilled that she listens and gave them compliments.
So we'll point on this midwek or mate, Oh, I
think it's uh it's a mid story. Here's why I
would assume she did. If she loves Travis the way
you assume she does, why don't you support the things
that they're into it.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
I know she's busier than most, but you don't think
Rich's wife and my girlfriend listened to the show pretty
much every day. They do this. My mom listens every
day week major. One of the answers be stupid that
when you care about somebody, you you pay attention to
what they're up to do. We think she sits on
a throne of diamonds and just a little laser all day. Like,
(28:54):
what's what I picture? What do we think that she
doesn't listen to podcasts and music and things? I think
her man has a top rated podcast. You shocked to
Taylor Shift listens, Davy G's wife listens here and there,
My wi, what you're saying your girlfriend, it happens? This
is ridiculous next door? I picture like talking to cats
all day? Is that weird? All right?
Speaker 4 (29:14):
And more importantly, I know there's been speculation after this
super Bowl they go for the Chief Pete if you
know three chief, the chef, three chief, whatever you're calling it,
the Chief, that this might be the end of Travis
Kelsey's Chiefs career. He may be calling it quits, and
that he may propose to his girlfriend. Where the odds
are in for that, and apparently at plus seven fifty odds,
(29:34):
people think that Travis may propose to Tailor, So I
have plus seven fifty odds. But on the other tip,
it's minus fifteen hundred that he will not.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
Propose to Taylor at the end of the game. If
the Chiefs wining, the celebration, all the company's coming down.
So what do you think of those odds? Midweek or major?
I think the storyline is major because we've already established
millions of people tuned in because of a whole Taylor
Swift Swifty Travis Kelsey's romance. It's made millions of dollars
for the NFL. I think it's major because if this
(30:05):
were to happen, that has to be the end of
his career. I think if he gets engaged in the
Super Bowl, such a cliche sort of thing, I don't
want to see him back after next year. It's kind
of like that's a perfect way to just end it.
This is I'll say this is major because if Travis
Kelcey three peats with Mahomes and then proposes to Taylor Swift.
(30:29):
Could we then say goodbye to this chapter of our
football popcs That's that would be the perfect Then what
was the door? Like? Even if you hate the Chiefs,
if I told you the Chiefs winning means Travis proposes,
they get married and you never have to hear about
it again, would we sign up for this? That's kind
of what I was getting at. I was trying to
be nice about it, like, I think that's just a
(30:50):
perfect way to end it. And we could say all
right later on too the next But I think Travis
is too much of a team player to take the
focus off of the team. So even though it's my
it's fifteen hundred, he's not gonna I don't know. The
sappy Ones and the Swifties would eat this up. I
know they really would, but it's.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Yeah, it's all celebration after that. You don't want to
distract from that. I agree, all right, we'll shift over
to MLB. I don't know if you saw this. So
Trevor Bauer, uh all right, was sup and very loud
on X this week, having a lot to say about
his skills on the mound saying that they're just as
still just as good, if not better than anyone. I
(31:29):
claim that on a global scale, he is second in
popularity only the show Hey Otani.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
That's that's how popular he thinks he is. And he
says that.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
He could I see said, there's only twenty players that
could possibly even twenty players in the world that could
even go up against him.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Everyone else just sucks.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
So Trevor Bauer is just going hard on Twitter saying,
you know, still saying that he could play in the league.
He said he would play for free, that he is
worth his fifty million, but he would absolutely gladly pay
for free, and they're just throwing that all away for
a chance to take Trevor Bauer midweek or major.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
Mid Okay, he may not be guilty of everything, but
he's also not like the most innocent guy, and he
rubbed so many people the wrong way in his career
that you know, you reap what you sow. He lie
in the bed, he make all these things right, and
I know he didn't completely make his own bed, but
he added to it a little bit right. Well, he
did things in that bed. I think he's also big
dreaming to think that he's second to show heo Tani.
(32:28):
So that also makes it mid because I could think
of like four or five people off top of my
head that I bringer him, Bryce Harp or Aaron Judge
get Alonzo. I mean, so many big stars in the world.
I think this is major. I think I think Trevor
Bauer is a top ten to fifteen starting pitcher in baseball.
If he was allowed back in the league, which he
is allowed, no team's gonna take a chance because whether
it smoked his fire, and whether he's innocent or not,
(32:51):
it's just it's too risky and rich. He was almost
h He's lights out wherever he plays. He was almost
a liability before these accusations for all that stuff because
no one like them. Yeah, so all right, I don't
know if.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
They'll read the tweets on your own time or the
exes whatever they call them.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
Thanks buddy, Yeah, thanks guys. Thanks. The Trevor Bower story
is a shame because he is He's good, he is talented. Yeah,
he really is. Dan Byer, what's going on, buddy, guys?
Speaker 7 (33:15):
Got some baseball news. At the end of what I'm
about to tell you about, we start in hoops. Lakers
gonna be without Anthony Davis for about a week because
of the abstrain suffered last night against Philadelphia. Hawks lost
forward Jalen Johnson for the season suffered a shoulder injury recently.
That shoulder injury now requires surgery. Tough bull for Atlanta,
who's sitting there on the ninth spot in the East.
Johnson's average nineteen points and ten rebounds per game this season.
(33:39):
WNBA star Caitlin Clark has declowned an invitation to take
part in the NBA Special Three Point Contest during All
Star Weekend. Clark's rep say she prefers to make her
three point shootout debut this summer in Indianapolis during WNBA
All Star festivities. Some ads hearing during Super Bowl fifty
nine on Fox will cost eight million dollars, the most
ever for a Super Bowl. According to multiple reports, Former
(34:01):
Rutgers head coach Chris ash, who is the defensive coordinator
at Texas and Ohio State, will be the new defensive
coordinator at Notre Dame Tampa Bay Race on second Basement.
Husng Kim to a two year deal with twenty nine
million dollars. Blue Jays, the front runners to sign free
agent pitcher Max Scherzer, according to MLB dot Com, and
coming this summer in Queens, the US Open will begin
(34:22):
a day earlier than normal. The final Grand Slam tennis
events of the year is going to start competition on
a Sunday.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Guys.
Speaker 7 (34:30):
This is no different than what the Australian Open does
and the French Open. It allows people to see more competition,
allows you to get more matches in and because it's
a weekend, allows more people to have flexibility to attend
the matches. So in Queens, the US Open will be
starting on a Sunday instead of the normal Monday.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
That it's been an extra day. Back to you, guys,
Thank you, Damn buyer. Any other thoughts on Spotty's midweek
major stories. I'm thinking of some of those Taylor things
and like he's not going to get engaged at the
super Bowl's no way.
Speaker 4 (35:02):
It would seem maybe within this the like this very
soon after, but it seems preposterous that you've seen the
postgame celebrations. It's like everything's crazy, it's too chaotic. They're
not going to part the field, have them in the
center of it, and everyone's around and he's gonna get
down on one knee.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
That would be insane. Sounds like a Hallmark movie, right
there is, however, you mean the Hallmark movie that they
made based on those you know. There is, however, speculation
that what if Taylor Shift comes out and performs Bad
Blood with Kendrick Klamar. But I promise you if there
was any chance she'd hit that stage, Fox would be
promoting it every hour from now until Super Bowl Sunday.
(35:40):
Why that's not you don't keep the secrets? She is not. Wow. Yeah,
So we got to talk Bill Belichick next. He said
something kind of crazy about Tom Brady. We want to
know your thoughts. You know. We got more. Cavino and
Rich live from the ti irq dot com studio. Man,
(36:04):
it's getting late early on the show. Cavino and Rich
live from aaty rack dot com studio. Remember, Rapid Radios
are the walkie talking for the big Game. They're pushed
to talk, offering national LTE coverage. Sam, I like your
dancing was. By the way, put the subscription ever perfect
for instant contact with your friends. We use them on
(36:26):
the show. Go to rapid radios dot com now for
up to sixty percent off and free shipping. Thanks again
to rapid radios and my apologies to rapid radios. Hard
to concentrate when there's a dance party in the other studio.
The bedroom was that DJ Pauly based Street Dancer. All
of a sudden, I look across and I see I
(36:46):
was Sam breaking it down fist pumping. Is Is there
an a VCH documentary Street Tim It's on Netflix. It's definitely
worth the watch. This is a banger when you're done
watching Squid Game, which I finally finished and it was great.
No one told me how great it was finished. It
was really good good. It was good. Man. It was
just as good, if not better than the first season. Bro,
(37:06):
you know what's good? What last night?
Speaker 2 (37:08):
Brenda and I we started the show Paradise I heard
told you man than Rich finally hit one.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Yeah you go. Rich has a reputation show No half
of his recommendations are gold yeah yeah, Like I say,
around thirty percent of them are probably about sixty show
so real quick, because it's getting late again. We're Covino
and Rich with Danny g and Sam and Bayern spot
on the videos at Covino and Rich, Bill Belichick. I
think he's taking a pretty cool road here. I think
(37:37):
we're seeing a likable Belichick. I think what he's saying
is kind of crazy, but it's not like that off
the wall Michael Jackson style, he says, or he suggests,
suggesting on the Let's Go podcast with Jim Gray that
the Lombardi Trophy should be named after Tom Brady. I mean,
Tom Brady has seven Vince Lombardi's got two, right, And
(37:59):
what makes it really cool and again not that crazy,
but like, wow, we I guess is that he's like, well, look,
without great teams and great players, we wouldn't have had any.
And he's crediting all the players. He's crediting Brady and
the team and how great they were. He's like, I
didn't score any touchdowns. I didn't kick any field goals.
(38:19):
He's like the credits, the players deserve all the credit here.
And he's like, you know, it should be named after anybody,
should be named after Tom Brady.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
This sounds like an idea that his twenty four year
old girlfriend came up with, you should name it after
your friend.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
Town didn't even a lot of those, but you know what,
the original trophy named after the guy that won the
first two Vince Lombardi named after a coach. So what
he's saying is, why is it named after a coach?
I have more Super Bowls than Vinsel Barty if anything,
If you named after a player, how about the guy
that won six with me and one without me? Tom
Brady seven? You know who has three more than any
(38:53):
other quarterback? He credited Brady in Vinit Terry, and you
know he was saying, look, we're not out there doing it.
They're out there doing it. So that was kind of
cool to think about, and it makes you think, like,
are there other changes that could work? You always see, well, yeah,
what if Mahomes continues to go on a tear then no.
You always see like even in the MLB, like by him,
(39:14):
you see that random bird. It always looks like a
bird logo to me, Like why is there a bird
for the logo of the MVP MLB? You always see
like Ken Griffy Junior taking a swing like, yeah, that
would work, but but you know what, I he not
worthy of being the logo or something saying to Big
Mike you know who runs his place? Who who Mike? Yeah?
Big Mic looks like Bruce Willis, but a lot older.
(39:34):
He looks like a stone cold it's older cousin, Mike
who I was saying that if Jordan wasn't a billion
dollar brand with Nike, and it wasn't a Nike Jordan thing,
they may have changed the NBA logo from Jerry West dribbling,
which by the way, has never officially been confirmed by
the NBA. But the Jerry West dribbling, maybe it would
(39:56):
have been replaced by like the Jumpman logo. But that
is a and billion it's a billion dollar band. There
was speculation after we lost Kobe Bryant five years ago exactly,
remember they said, oh, maybe they make Kobe the new logo.
I mean, there could be more than one logo. Didn't
they give Shortan the m v P trophies? And't that
what they did? Oh? You know what, that's a great question.
(40:16):
The Eastern and Western Conference, don't they Is it like
the Magic Johnson Larry Bird? Am? I did I dream that?
Did they about Johnson? That it wouldn't be your first time?
Did they not read last? Yeah? They did. They renamed
the Eastern and Western Conference MVPs In the the Michael
Jordan Trophy is the key of NBA. NBA most Valuable Player?
(40:38):
Can you leave me time to make my place? Go ahead?
Can I make my pitch to be on the box
for just for men? I mean I think I should
be on it. Why the the random and hispanic guy?
Why not me? Dark brown black, I've been a user
and spokesman for years. So Belichick said it should be
the Tom Brady Trophy, not the Lombardi Trophy and just votos.
All right, We'll see you guys later. Read it. There
(40:59):
you baby, see you in the Promised Land.
