Speaker 2 (01:30):
I heard that Malcolm Butler of the Patriots, super Bowl champion,
two times Super Bowl champion.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Yeah, stop them by to say what's up.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
And of course it's Wednesday, so you're gonna turn your
humped into a hump night if we have time some
midweek major the biggest stories in the world of sports
and pop culture. But a few random observations out here.
As the buzz gets thicker at.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Radio Row, as we see athletes, celebrities and people just
walk on by, it's cool to bump into familiar faces.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
I just saw.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Presidential candidate and I say that because it's a true story.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Steven A.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Smith walked by with an entourage like he was already
running for president.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
That's a story today, stephen A. And God bless this country.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:12):
The only entourage I've seen just as big, if not
a little bigger, today was Shannon sharp when he watched Oh.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I saw him walking by too. So yeah,
everybody who's anybody's here, and if you can't make it
to the room where it happens, we bring the fun
to you. That's why we're here, no doubt. Some good
parties last night. We're gonna go to Collins party tonight.
We'll report back Manyana and let you know how that is.
But some other random observations. I gotta start off with

(02:38):
this one. Out here in New Orleans. There is a
lot of security, right. We appreciate that and props to
people keeping us safe.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
But Rich is fixated.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
He said it about five fifteen, sixteen times already. What
do you think of the mounty heads observations?

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Everyone?

Speaker 2 (02:55):
My question is I just got to ask you. Do
you lose.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Respect or does it command respect?

Speaker 3 (03:02):
I don't know, because the New Orleans Police Department doing
their thing, thank you, not mocking, just saying they got
that bull winkled melty hat like. It's almost cartoonish, and
I don't know if it garners more respect.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
I think you're talking, Dudley do right. I think that's
where you're getting at. Something like that. They got on
the full on uniform and it's kind of intimidating, but
they don't walk around their hats man, it's a presence.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I'm leaning towards commands. Respect Rich is like, lose respect.
It looks goofy.

Speaker 6 (03:33):
No.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
So again, just throwing it out there, even though we're
still giving prompts because we do appreciate it, because they're
the first people were going to if there's a problem.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Let's be fair, Yo, let.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
It be known, my friend, I'm a huge supporter of
the police.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yes, what are you going to do?

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Say that you don't support the police.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
A lot of people do a lot of people do.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
I respect the police more than anyone. They're here to
help us.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
I'm just saying I'd like you to know I'm against
racism the unif you know.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
In every city it varies.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
I feel like NYPD, LA PD, different uniforms, different cars.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
You know, the police are different. Theywhere in New Orleans
it is a like a.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Navy blue Dudley do right mount healthy outfit. I'm like
riding around on horses and everything. Honestly, it's wild. So
that's observation number one. Observation number two is what what
a weenie Rich is?

Speaker 1 (04:21):
He just had a roast beef sangwich again in between
the Pie Boy show. Yeah, he had a Pope Boy.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Because we're here in Nolan's, So in between Collins show
and this show that you started, he had a roast.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Beef Pope boy.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
And he keeps complaining that my belly hurts my pummy ache.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
I think it's you down with the sickness. Yeah, Clarissa
Thompson was supposed to be on the show today. There's
some little virus or block going around New Orleans right now.
And you heard at the top of the hour Ilo
say that Jalen Carter of the Eagles missed his media
availability today with illness.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
It's concerning because we have alerts on our phone and
there's been alerts, you know, shooting out from everybody that
there's something going on around here where people are getting sick.
So the other day that's not happening in you rich
because you know, no, I just exactly, I just had
a big ass Pope boy.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Too much sauce. I mean, think about it.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
The other day, Colin mid segment was like Stars Stars, Luca,
you know what, guys, I gotta go.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
And so there is a little something going around By
the way, that's why we filled in for him today.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
He was making his way here to New Orleans, so
that's why we did double duty today.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
But speaking of the food and his belly ache, I
gotta tell you what he did last night.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Oh no, I have an observation about the restaurant we
had lunch at. Go ahead again, this not trying to
be controversial. We went to a really nice little bar pub,
got a pope boy, got a couple apps.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Just to kill the time in between shows.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
I'm talking to our buddy from the Odd Couple, Kelvin,
and we both looked down and caveno, go ahead, give
me a signal look down. Before I didn't know what
he was talking about.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
The tiles in this bar had a swastika pattern, and
I'm like, just one. It was just full on throughout
the mark, that whole tile.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
It was the tile, And everyone's like, what is going on.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
Yeah, like I said, I'm against racism, Yeah, exact you daddy.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Immediately one of the workers that go look at the
sign and there's a big sign that says this place
was built in nineteen oh two, prior to World War two,
prior to Nazis, and it was a sign of peace,
and I'm thinking still change your tiles.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
Well, they took that symbol and inverted.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
It exactly, exactly. Yeah, so I mean historic in a sense.
It's an old floor. They explained it, but it's hard
to Matt notice. Don't you think it's not to change? Yeah, employee,
he sort of changed over time.

Speaker 5 (06:58):
Yeah, don't you think themployees must be really sick of
explaining it.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
That's why there's a big giant plaque. Again.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Some random observations and before we get into other stuff,
Lebron and John Madden and Midweek Major and some football observations.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
Rich Elon Musk owns that restaurant.

Speaker 6 (07:18):
St stop it.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Last night we all went out Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
You know, some of the big wigs.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
It's always fun to hobknob and booze and schmooth with
important people.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
And you know, some other shows were there. Rich thought
it was the right time to go split sees, as
he called it, halfsis has E's with our boss.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
So Rich and our boss, I mean solid move, lame
mover boss move because it is our boss.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
But you're going playing it though. It was like Lady
in the Tramp style.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Well yeah, because then they interlocked arms and fed each other,
not even joking. I think there was Joe that that
part was joking, but they actually did it.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
Is my point, Like they shared food and went halves.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
So the question is, before we dive into the other stuff,
let's have some fun. Cavino and Rich let's get involved
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Is it okay
to share meals with your bro or your buddy or
is that something you used to do?

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Is you know, with your wife or girlfriend?

Speaker 4 (08:22):
Like split plates?

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Yeah, you're slitting. Yeah, i'd cool. Here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
I think anyone that says rich it caused a lot
of chit chat, a lot of laughter. Yeah, but I
think anyone that has a problem with this is out
of their damn mind.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
I'll tell you why and why did everybody react? There
been there have been times where.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
Why did head Hancho Don Martin call you soft? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Yeah? Why did everybody's respect for you all of a sudden? Thanks?

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Guys, No, listen, you could say, well it's your wife,
it's different. But recently I'm met a diner with my
wife and I saw on the menu they had a
ruben and they had I believe.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
It was a pull pork grilled cheese. I think it
was a Ruben Sierra and I had a little mustard
and I was like, I was.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Like, babe, you want to do Hevsi's I want to
split And my wife gets annoyed that I want to
do this all the time. But to me, I'm the
guy that wants to get a little taste of everything.
So we're at the restaurant last night. I happen to
be sitting next to the boss. We have a big table,
really fun time, great crew.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
With the coincidence, which was sitting next to the boss,
or he was kissing.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
A that's what he was doing, which was kissing. That's
what your dad would say.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
And our boss, Scott, I saw him eyeing up the
scallops or the filet.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Sometimes it's hard to make a choice, but a real
man makes a choice and sticks with it or he
sometimes it doesn't work and sometimes it does.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Or I saw that we were both deciding between two things,
like hey, dude, you going with the scallops or you're
going with the steak. And I'll give Scott credit. He
led off with, by the way, how do you like
your steak?

Speaker 1 (10:00):
He led you there, and I go medium rare.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
How about you? So he goes, so do I? And
then it was the I guess that makes us split pals.
At that point, it's like, all right, do you yo?

Speaker 1 (10:15):
You want to get the steak in the scalps and
we'll just split them. I see no problem.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
The fact that you boneheads even address this, this is brilliant.
And then Cavino had this huge ass pork chop and
I'm like, let me get a little taste. I got
to try three entres. A little silent bowl is.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Here and there. Okay, I get it right. You know again,
you're on the company dime. And as Rob Parker says,
when the company pays you weak falas.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Oh he's a whole nother story, flace.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
But sharing with another man, splitting the plate your thoughts
at Coveno.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
And Rich at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
I was saying the back of the studio, we've hung
with I was saying, we've we've he've been to my house.
I was saying, we've been out for meals. Are you
cool splitting entrees with one of your buds.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
I guess that was a very hesitanting I think, yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Because sometimes you as a guy, you see what you like,
and I don't even want to share it, let alone
split it, like get your own meal.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
By the way, if someone wants a little taste, little taste,
then they get a little taste.

Speaker 7 (11:16):
But I prefer to keep my own entre because you know,
I'm kind of a fatty, so I want to eat
all the food on my plate.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Same. I'm with Sam.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
I sent you and Ryan the picture there so you
see that.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Oh now, I think on your socials, Danny, I can't
say I've never done it, you know, but it's not
that Rich seems to be like an endorser of this tactic.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Well, I'll tell you what not everyone's down for it.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
And again, yeah, Arnie Spaniard just texted into the show,
what a suck up Rich is.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
I don't even share any of my food with my wife.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
That's what I'm saying. Sharing with the boss. What's do
for you? By the way, you know, thank you, Artie.
I love that guy.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
By the way, I will say this, I recently did
this with our video.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Guy Spot and he's like, never good.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
We were at the Graduate Hotel in Auburn, and I'll
be honest, I'll take accountability.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
I'm always the guy that wants to do this.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
We went to some great place for dinner at the
graduate and there was a Southern fried chicken sandwich and
a smash burger. And I was like, oh, damn it,
I'm just indecisive, dude, You're amaze.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
I'm married.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
I picked one woman to me. I'm like, d white black,
I'll take it. Variety is the spice of life. So
when you put, oh, that's a good ones you come
up with that.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
I did. Actually, I've made that up.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
When you put a fried chicken sandwich on one side
of me and a smash burger on the other side,
I said, spot.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Let's do it.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Come on, split Sky split split a rough chaers. These
spots are okay.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Fun. He did not like the chicken, and he's like, yeah,
you're an ass, you know, like he was so mad
because you steered him in the wrong direction. Well, hey,
you know what, I'll let you decide.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
It's an old school It's Super Bowl week, so let's
do an old school NFL Fox Sports Radio Nation.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
You make the call.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Yeah, there's a ton of NFL and NBA and stuff
to get to, but why not start with a fun
like question.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
I want people to.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Understand, though, it's not all about football in the game.
There's a lot of fun to be had at these events.
In the week leading up to Super Bowl, it's a
lot of people.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
See all the families outside of the Convention Center going
into the NFL experience to.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Point out, how come our dads never took us to
places like you eating the places our dads never took us.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Yeah, I mean it's fun for the family, it's fun
for the co workers.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
We're hanging out with our colleagues. We're going out for dinners.
You know, we're here at Radio Row. It's kind of
a reunion.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
You've seen old colleagues that you worked with, So there's
a lot more story to tell. Then, Uh, you know
who's more motivated, the Eagles or the chiefs of the Eagles?

Speaker 1 (13:54):
I trust me.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Two hours, we got a lot of NFL We got
some NFL stars stopping by stars.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
But I will say this, Dare I sound corny and.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Say this is a great team building.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
It is not the split of the of the dinner.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
I'm saying the fact that you know, I was chopping
it up with Doug Gottlieb's here. We just saw Kelvin
at the restaurant we were at you know, tonight, we're
gonna be going to Collins party. So it really is
an opportunity to really spend some time with the people
on your team, essentially exactly.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
And it's not just us, it's everybody.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
I mean, the superstars are out, the Pro Bowlers are here.
And when I say Pro Bowlers, I mean Pete Webber
and yeah, exactly.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
You know, do you hear a lot of exaggerating because
I overheard Rich tell Gottlieb I watch all your video clips.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
Yeah he's a sucker. Yeah, I said one of them.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
I'm watch all of them.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Now start thinking about this too, Yeah, because aside from football,
it's unbelievable that we're even talking NBA right now. But
there's so many moves to be made in the next
twenty four hours or so.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Right, So I got to ask you about lebron James
seems to be handling the news pretty good.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Had a nice game yesterday. Bronni hit a three pointer.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
As he did point out though when he went to
the bench, Ad wasn't there, I know, and he's used
to Ad being.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
In that spot.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
But he saw Lucas smile and he felt right at
home again. Lebron more motivated to stick around or call
it quits knowing that his replacement is there. Think about that,
maybe not necessarily just Lebron. Like you, Let's say you
know your replacements there. Do you want to hang around

(15:37):
and go for that ride with the new guy and
teach him the ropes and show him around you.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
It's not like Lebron's not going to be part of this.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Yeah, but you don't know how much longer he intended
on playing. There's a theory of Luca may have prolonged
his career and gave him second life that it takes
a lot of weight off of him. Or do you
think Lebron says, yeah, we're gonna go for it. He's
a trooper professional.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
We know that. You know, I want to win with.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
This guy, but it's his team moving forward and I'm
done after that.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
But you know what hold your Lebron and Luca thoughts
because there's other look of thoughts, and they have to
do with when you're called like out.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Of shape or chubby? H Is that a motivator in itself? Likely?
Simple factor even he said so.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
The simple fact that the narrative that Luca is twenty
five years old and a little fig with a bunch
of c'sh se CCC. So we'll start thinking about that.
Get to that some more NFL, of course.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
A little preview Eagles Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
But we are joined next by Super Bowl champion Malcolm Butler,
So hang tight, we got more Cavino on Rich next
right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (16:43):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Welcome back to the show, Covino and Rie Radio from
super Bowl Media Row.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
I'm Steve Cavino.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
That is Rich Davis, and we have a guest. Let's
welcome two times Super Bowl champion with the.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
New England Patriots, Malcolm Butler.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Everybody, yeah you do, I'm.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Doing good man?

Speaker 1 (17:16):
How y'all doing?

Speaker 4 (17:17):
Having a hell of a day.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Man, I mean, I think of you, and you know
you gotta think immediately. One of the biggest plays in
Super Bowl history, you know, I mean, what the hell
let's start there, oh.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Height man, big time player, make big time plays. Baby.

Speaker 9 (17:31):
Hey, hey, it only counts when it counts, you know.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
I'll ask you this, how did your life change after
that catch? Because you were the hero after that win?
How did life change immediately after?

Speaker 4 (17:43):
I'll just say, mister Kraft, say what's your name?

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Right?

Speaker 3 (17:48):
All of a sudden, you're really imported right, by the way,
has Russell Wilson ever, you know, approach you like yo,
I sort of hate you, my man?

Speaker 4 (17:55):
And no, well I met him.

Speaker 9 (17:57):
I don't know who's at the correspondence. I think in
twenty fifteen, I was talking to his grandmother. I don't
know where she from, but she is so sweet, and
I think we was sitting there talking for like six
or seven minutes.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
He said, come on, grandma, we got to go.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Isn't that that one of your greatest moments? Is one
of his greatest nightmares?

Speaker 10 (18:15):
Right?

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Like he probably still thinks about that every night the
same way you do, just opposite.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
Yeah, I'm glad I got the better end. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Hell yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
By the way, part of two of the more exciting
Super Bowls in the lab Ever, maybe you know that
ending versus the Seahawks when you win and then against
the Falcons.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
Right, oh yeah, yeah, twenty eight to three.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
The anniversary was just the other day.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
Hey, we came back, Like I keep coming back for
that Church of chick.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
We're gonna talk about BA because I can smell it.
Malcolm Butler here with Cavino and Rich. Now, that play
didn't happen by accident. You were prepared for it. So
what was your preparation? You know, how did you prepare
for plays like that?

Speaker 9 (18:51):
And quarterbacks back in the day, Well, back in the day,
like you just see the athlete, and we all just
wanted picks and stuff like that. But once I got
to college, I started to learn the technique, and especially
when I got to the New England Patriots playing for
under Bill Belichick, I started learning the technique. The game
started slowing down more. I didn't play as much, but

(19:13):
I always was an urgency reserved player. We had Brandon
Brown and de Rel Reeves, Logan Ryan like I deserve
the sit but I didn't think I deserved this shit.
But like, you got to earn your scripes, right, and
I think I earned my scripes enough to be able
to get in the most important game.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
The most important in moments.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Still, Yes, sir, when you see coach Belichick now going
to college, do you think these.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Young kids will respond to his style?

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Yes, yes, like of course they gonna.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
I mean he appeals to he has a younger girlfriend.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
Maybe maybe that demo, Maybe that demo likes Coach Belichick.

Speaker 9 (19:52):
Damn, she might be on campus, she might be a
social studies. Then they stopped playing. But yeah, like I
know the game, like Nick Saban got out the game
because like the nil deals and stuff like that, like
he can't compete no more. But like it's an even

(20:13):
playing field now. But I think players will most definitely
go play for Bill Belichick. And like Bill Belichick never
been a social media guy or a guy about money.
You here to do your job and help the team win.
And who don't want to play for one of the
best coaches in the NFL? Biking up and then he

(20:35):
find Malcolm Butler, Like you're gonna go find him up?
Another Malcolm Butler, Another Tom Brady, another Julian Elderman.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Yep, you played for the Pats twenty fourteen to twenty seventeen,
then again in twenty twenty two. What was it like
going back at the end of your career?

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Because k D said today he has no interest in
going back to the Golden State Warriors.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
Was it just as fun as second time around? Do
you take pride in starting and ending your career with
the Pats Man.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
I just felt like it was different.

Speaker 9 (21:03):
I kind of felt like BILLI Chick wasn't as hard
as he.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Used to be, really different.

Speaker 9 (21:11):
And then I got older also, and then the players
got younger. So maybe I don't know what I was seeing,
but like, I don't know, it's just different. Man, Like
we had our runs, but I don't think it wasn't It's.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
Just like it's not the same now. It wasn't the
same then, right.

Speaker 3 (21:31):
I saw Vince will Fark earlier, we had him on
the show and he was saying, how when you when
you have Tom Brady on your team, you never feel
like you're.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
Out of it?

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Was that a sense you had even you know, even
though you're on the other side of the ball, did
you ever respect for Brady? And when you see documentaries
like Man in the Arena, is it cool to.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Look back at all those moments you guys had.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
Yeah, yeah, one hundred percent. When I first seen.

Speaker 9 (21:53):
Like, I didn't I never thought in my life I
played for the New England Pages.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
Yeah, I said, damn it.

Speaker 9 (22:00):
I said, dang, it's cold, like like like just playing
the game.

Speaker 4 (22:06):
And then I'm like going.

Speaker 9 (22:07):
Then I end up in the locker room and I
see Tom Brady with this big traffic keeper I'm talking about.
I don't know if he was a teacher of what,
but here's a teacher, teacher of the game. But I'll
tell you about Super Bowl fifty two. He said, we're
gonna come back.

Speaker 4 (22:23):
He kicked you. Yeah, I said, man, what else?

Speaker 9 (22:28):
Hook throwing? That thing came back? And that made me
a true believer. So Vince will Fork it is very right.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
I'm here with Malcolm Butler again, super Bowl champion.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
What's the last three years been like for you?

Speaker 10 (22:42):
Man?

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Because you retired in twenty twenty two, So what's that
been like for you?

Speaker 9 (22:46):
My coach high school football nice yep went to the
state championship in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
And Jason Whitten stopped us.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
This year from going no way?

Speaker 4 (23:02):
The breaks offers and is that funny?

Speaker 1 (23:04):
You get joy passing down your knowledge to these kids?

Speaker 4 (23:07):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (23:07):
I love it, man, I love it. God blessed us
to bless other people.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
I love that.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
Hey, you know, Malcolm, when you're here and you see
all these people, is it's sort of like a reunion.
You bump into old guys you would see across the
across the Yeah.

Speaker 9 (23:22):
I just seen one guy, he said. Yeah, I've seen
a bunch of guys. Oh, I just seen one guy,
he said. Man, I would have been in on a
play I thank called call line three corner.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
It's called three corners. Somebody got to get out of
the gang.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
I mean, Malcolm Butler here with Cavino and Rich Again,
you're only thirty four years old, right, So you were
an older guy on the field, but you're a young
man in life. You're getting your competitive flow as a coach.
But is there a party that still wants to compete
in other sports?

Speaker 10 (23:49):
Man?

Speaker 9 (23:50):
I thought about playing ball again, but nah, I can't
do it. Like once you stop, you just can't crack
the engine back.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
Up no more.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
No, you're steal in shape.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
Oh yeah, yeah, you gotta look good.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
So you're keeping in shape. Yeah, you're styling today. Here,
you're looking safe. Man.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
Hey, fit the away, keep it weight away.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
That's it, man.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
And you're aside from the Super Bowl win and the
rings and everything, other memories that are near and dear
to you, any other accolades and memories that stand out
to you in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Man, just I appreciate everything.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
I'll tell you that is it. The relationships, the friendships,
the relationship, the friendships, the respect, the ups and downs.

Speaker 9 (24:32):
Like you gotta appreciate everything while you here and like,
just just be thankful for everything.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
I'm thankful being on Fox.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Yeah, how are these guys feeling? A couple of days
before the Super Bowl? They got butterflies? You think some
guys are just naturally calm?

Speaker 1 (24:45):
What were you like?

Speaker 4 (24:46):
Will you?

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Were you your own heads to bring up a lot
of memories.

Speaker 9 (24:49):
For so Like, I was like, I ain't gonna play,
Like I ain't gonna play. But like in the mean room,
my coach said, Malcolm, be ready to play. You're gonna
put your little West Alabama school on the map. And
I got in and did my thing.

Speaker 4 (25:07):
But I wasn't scared. I wasn't scared.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
You were prepared.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
I was just ready.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Nice Brandy, I love it.

Speaker 3 (25:14):

Speaker 5 (26:37):
When you hear the horns, you know you have made
it to the middle of the week, all right. Before
we hand these over to the number one and only
host to this segment, I'm gonna flip this casino chip
that your friend each left behind yesterday.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
All right, coveno heads or tail?

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Oh you mean the one she slipped into my back pocket?
Yeah that one. Listen, Yeah, I am called tails sales
in all in it is tail.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (27:03):
That means Covino's gonna get the first take. And now,
ladies and gentlemen, the most famous person besides Judy Bloom
from Scotch Points New Jersey, Spotty boy.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Yo, Scotty from Nolans.

Speaker 6 (27:17):
Who went first? Who's going first?

Speaker 1 (27:18):
I'm going first? Covino, Spotty Pope boy? How is your sandwich?

Speaker 7 (27:22):
By the way, it was meeting, well, you know what
wasn't what I expected, but it was also meeting anyway.
I guess we'll start with the biggest thing of the week,
the biggest sports story of the week, and that is
the Super Bowl.

Speaker 6 (27:34):
Of course, Mahomes and Kelsey.

Speaker 7 (27:36):
Been fielding questions all week long, so aside from the
Taylor swip questions, they were asked about the attendance of
our President Trump and they're thrilled at the opportunity. Mahome said,
it's always cool to be able to play in front
of a sitting president, someone that is at the top
of our country. Also added it was cool to hear
that the president was a fan of the Mahomes and
the chiefs. Kelsey commented, saying, it's a great honor no

(27:56):
matter who the president is. I'm excited because it's the
biggest game of my life and having the president there,
you know, it's the best country in the world, so
it would be pretty cool. I'm sure fans will be
kind of divvying the minutes between who showing President.

Speaker 6 (28:08):
Trump and Taylor swept on TV, so that'll be fun.
Midweek or major.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
This is major.

Speaker 10 (28:12):
Yeah, always cool to perform in front of a sitting president.
Hopefully stands up and cheers for me when we win. Yeah,
but very excited that Trump's going to be there because my.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
Wife's a big fan, and that's really it.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
I think it's cool because he's the president, right, so
I think it's awesome that he's going to be there.
Regardless of your political beliefs anything Trump related.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
Major. He's at the game, and I think it is
sort of proof that Patrick sways with his wife and
her political beliefs.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
I just think I think it's major because it's just
the right answer. There's a right answer here. And it's
no matter who the president is, you're fortuate. Everybody feels
that way. I think it's crazy. You're a citizen of
the United States. The President's there, It's an honor, even
if you don't like the Chin China. I mean, you're
playing in the super Bowl. I think it's an honor.

(29:06):
And I think my big takeaway doesn't have to do
in President Trump. What Kelsey also said, there goes against everything.
This knucklehead next to me Camino thinks. Travis Kelsey said,
this is the biggest game of his life. And you're
talking about oh Jalen Hurts and revenge and Nixer.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
No, no, no, no.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
I never downplayed the fact that the Chiefs care you underplay.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
It never makes that are also playing for something. So
there you go twisting things around. He could see.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
No, I don't have any stories spot about he makes
it seem like he makes it seem like the Chiefs
are Rocky and Rocky three where he's punching hey, hey bubbles.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
So believe me.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Believe with two time Super Bowl champion Vince Wilford today, Yeah,
Vince Wilford, I believe him.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
I don't tell believe And if you didn't hear it?
Catch it on the podcast over the half time show.

Speaker 7 (30:00):
Drake Lamar is said to take the stage in this
week's A Weekend ten Time Show, but the song that
thrust him into popularity this year might have slightly different
lyrics or might not be there at all. So the
Drake distract Not Like Us is currently part of a
defamation lawsuit by Drake against Kendrick Lamar for some accusations
he makes in the song, specifically calling him a pedophilegist
to be newsworthy here, So today's day, the set list

(30:22):
was submitted and now lawyers are going back and forth
as to whether or not the censors will have a
field day with the song, whether or not he's going
to change the song, whether or not the song will
be included.

Speaker 6 (30:30):
But he just won four Grammys for the song, so
hopefully it makes it in.

Speaker 7 (30:34):
And if he does push it through without the approval,
there's two sensors in place, plus plus a five second delay,
so I'm sure they'll have their backups midweek or major.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
I guess it's kind of.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Major because now we're all going to see how this
plays out, all right, And what's Drake's take on this?

Speaker 1 (30:51):
Obviously he doesn't like it, but he's involved.

Speaker 7 (30:53):
Well, there's a defamation lawsuit because that's part of the distrack.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
So weak, anquated he went west.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
It.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
It's a major story because it's Super Bowl, but it's
super weak because that's like Devin Haney getting knocked out
and trying to sue Ryan Garcia.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
Yo, you've lost the rat battle. You deal with it.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
Calling someone a pedophile is a pretty serious accusation. It
is said rat battle. You know, I see Drake. Listen,
if you're Kendrick Lamar, you have the song of the year,
you want a Grammy for it. It's what everyone's gonna
be looking for to There's zero point zero chance he
doesn't perform that song.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
It's just rap game. You just just like a crime,
changed the one word pedophile just to make it just.

Speaker 5 (31:34):
But Drake took all these low blow shots true also,
so that's what happens in a rap battle.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
And it's an anthem. Now it is a worldwide anthem.
You can't change the words in an anthem.

Speaker 6 (31:44):
It's a Grammy winning anthem.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
That stadium is gonna sing him anyway.

Speaker 7 (31:48):
If you if you did watch the Grammys, which we did,
you saw that every major artist if the Grammys was
singing along with that song, so that song is not
going anywhere.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Drake was crying in the corner right there, Drake in
the worst way possible.

Speaker 6 (32:01):
Man.

Speaker 7 (32:01):
All right over to another big story we heard about
Marcus Jordan's dui or st Michael Jordan's son.

Speaker 6 (32:07):
While the police report has been released and some.

Speaker 7 (32:09):
Of the details of this are hilarious, Obviously, it's horrible
that he had a dui.

Speaker 6 (32:14):
He was caught on his lambeau got stuck on train tracks.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
Well, his explanation is whack to like, hey, I'm at
a right hand turn if then.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
It was a side street. Oh, it was true.

Speaker 6 (32:23):
I was following my GPS, so let me into the
train tracks.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
It's Michael Scott in the office when he did right
when he drove into a river or a baker.

Speaker 7 (32:30):
Not only was he belligerent with officers, he was so
upset with when he was detained with the music situation
at the facility. Apparently, according to the police report, he
was demanding that they play and this, by the way,
this happened this week, demanding that they play holiday music,
most more specifically, that they.

Speaker 6 (32:47):
Play Mariah Carey up in this bee. So apparently All.

Speaker 7 (32:50):
I Want for Christmas is a huge hit in February
of twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
It won't go away.

Speaker 7 (32:56):
So yeah, a lot of just details coming out about this.
Marcus Jordan not like great midweeker.

Speaker 4 (33:00):
Major.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
I think it's major.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Unfortunately, because of his name, his father's name, who he
was quick to throw out there the moment he realized
he was in trouble, he didn't hesitate to be like, yeah,
Michael Jordan's son. Yeah, a whole thing's embarrassing. So major
because of his last name, Mariah.

Speaker 6 (33:18):
You're saying Mariah Carey specifically by name.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
Interesting.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
I think it's major because the story is so weird.
This just to show you how how off he.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
I don't he said the word. By the way, if
you watch a video, he says the word inebriated. Inebriate.
You don't use a big word like that. But to
request Mariah, I don't blame he listen. No one, no
one should get free passes. You know, you break the law,
you break the law. I get it, But I mean,
I think if you're Michael Jordan's kid, you almost have
to drop the name, hoping that.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Maybe it's like a super fan, Like I really think
that I get why he did it. Bad, looked up bad,
horrible look all right.

Speaker 7 (33:56):
Uh, if you're a fan that's upset about the Luka
trade and you're a mav mav season ticket holder, you
may be able to get your money back.

Speaker 6 (34:06):
I don't know if've heard about this.

Speaker 7 (34:07):
Fans who purchased ticket blocks prior to the season have
reportedly been contacted by the Mavericks organization with an offer
to refund their money in wake of the trade. Fans
were posting some posts of that, like they were offered
two k for as a refund, other fans confirming they
were given.

Speaker 6 (34:22):
A similar option.

Speaker 7 (34:23):
Mavericks haven't released an official statement that they're refunding, but
they did say that they value their season ticket holders
relationships and that reps are available to take calls from
members with any concern So it sounds like they are
doing a little bit of damage control since this was
a surprise to everyone midweek or major.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
This is the weakest. We talked about it in depth
on the Colin Cowherd Show. We filled in earlier, so
catch it on the podcast. But for so many reasons,
the Mavericks should be like deal with it.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
We made it. Don't move be excited about it.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
But it's really to appease and accommodate the Karens of
the world and to shut them up, which makes it
extra week. So I think it's just a way of
putting the fire out. As you explained, Spot, what's super
weak that they'd even have to explain this.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
It's a triple B move. It's baby bee behavior. Yeah,
it's to accommodate sports crybabies. It's a cry baby move.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
And I said to these guys earlier, I also hate
the move because you're the Mavericks, and the Mavericks it
almost seems like you're saying, yeah, we got the short
end of this trade, Like the Maverick should be excited
about getting Anthony Davis.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
He's those slouch.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
It's not like they give up Luca for a mega
potato chips. You know they got Anthony Davis.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
So a fan, how are you not excited about seeing that?
How it pans out? That's a hot ticket?

Speaker 3 (35:37):
No, I know, Spot, we got to go. But you're
a foodie. How did you not bring up the food
Taylor Swift is going to have in the sweet Did
you see this?

Speaker 4 (35:44):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (35:44):
I didn't see it.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
Now opster case, adas, wagooed tenderloin, oh, colossal shrimp, and
alligator sauce brisket.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
Like they are breaking out all the top food for tailer.

Speaker 7 (35:56):
One of my stories was about all the Super Bowl sweets.
And by the way, they're ranging from five hundred thousand
for like obstructed view up to the suite that I
assumed Taylor, So it has three million, which is the
most sought after suite that holds forty five people?

Speaker 1 (36:09):
Obstructive view?

Speaker 4 (36:10):
What is it?

Speaker 1 (36:10):
A jaded smizatt in front of you?

Speaker 6 (36:11):
Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
Thank thanks buddy, all right, thanks good one. There was
a guy. It was a guy Rich. There's a guy
