Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Oh yeah, it's The Herd. Fox Sports Radio. LaVar Arrington,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here filling in on
this Wednesday for Calling and Company as we take you, uh,
trying to breathe through it?
Speaker 4 (00:44):
What that Jambie he took a shot at that was
real low. I just said he was bad at picking
plays for rough Man. I mean, you gonna hit me
with l at the end.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
I just I didn't really know what you're expecting from.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
I mean, the Brady I know from Thursday in New
Orleans would not have done that to me.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
You would have not have gone that low. That was
pretty well. That was trying to be a dual threat quarterback.
That's all that was. That was like multi dimensional threat.
That was bad. Okay, you know what you know? It
was a dual threat quarterback. Oh Justin Fields.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Thought he was going to say, Jonas Knox, No, I mean,
y'are kind of comparable.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Me and Justin Fields, which yeah, I wish. But unfortunately
Justin Fields, you know, maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers aren't the
only place that might have some interest in retaining him.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Jets and Justin
Fields have mutual interest. The Jets like the idea of
(01:50):
quote a dual threat quarterback, and Fields has looked at
the roster and sees some intrigue there. So if this
is a long term play, I kind of get it.
If it's just a short term play, I don't know
how this is a better option than Aaron Rodgers would
be on a short term You just don't No.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
I mean I look at it too and think to
myself again, I said this to you guys earlier this week.
I like continuity. So if you're Pittsburgh, for example, you
know you know Arthur Smith's system. If you're Justin Fields,
you know the personnel. Your best bet is to try to,
you know, win over that team, to be the guy
(02:32):
and be a part of a franchise that's had a
ton of success and with a coach who's had a
ton of success with Mike Tomlin to me, like, that's
that's your best path forward in trying to resurrect and
being a starting quarterback in the NFL. When you start
jumping from team to team to team, they're all looking
for a quick fix, and it's so rare that it happens,
(02:53):
and it's so rare that you know, guys have the
talent and the ability and and there's.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Some luck involved. Like, let's be honest, there's some luck involved.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
I don't care if we're talking about Hall of Famers either,
when they've transitioned from different teams, there's always a little
bit of luck involved so that it ends up working out.
I mean, if you think about Peyton, like Peyton was
coming off a neck injury, that's one of the colts
moved on from him. They end up stinking that year
to go get Andrew luck. But when he got to Denver,
there was no guarantees he was gonna be able to
(03:23):
physically be the same player that he was. He had
a perfect team. Greek who's the trainer there, Greg Ross
Coffee does m at all these other people who like
over around doctor Lahey who did art. There are so
many different resources there with the Broncos that if he
was gonna have like any shot of ever being what
he was during in Indianapolis before the next surgeries, that team,
(03:46):
that roster, everything else that was there probably gave him
the best shot.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
And I think he knew that.
Speaker 5 (03:52):
So, you know, there's there's there's a little bit of luck,
there's a little bit of you know, everything else that
went along with it that eventually led to him when
you know, winning into the Super Bowl play in an
extremely high level. But in regards to Justin Fields, the
grass can always look greener somewhere else. I mean, look
at the roster, look at some of the talent on there. Okay, well,
what do you know about the offense? What do you
(04:12):
know about the play caller? You know, do you have
any experience with that? Do you want to learn a
new system. So there's so many things that play a
factor or role in that, And I think what's interesting
about it is, you know Arthur Smith likes having a
dual threat style quarterback. Well, you've you know, you've got
your guy right there. Because because in the same report
where we're saying Justin Fields likes the Jets Meanwhile, he's
(04:35):
just spent a year with the Pittsburgh Steelers. There's another
report that comes out and says, well, Daniel Jones looks
like he could be a fit in Pittsburgh and they.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Really like him. Why, Well, because he's got some dual
threat ability to him right now. Arthur Smith likes that.
Speaker 5 (04:45):
It's like, what, you've got a guy there, like, would
you rather have Daniel Jones or Justin Fields? I person
would rather have Justin Fields to me, I don't care
when anyone wants to show with Danny Dimes.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
I think Fields has more upside.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
So it's just it's kind of ironic that we hear
all these reports things floating around. It's like musical chairs
of quarterbacks. But like, dude, just stay put, like grow
in the place to have men. I keep watering that
that area, that garden.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Yeah, that one doesn't make any sense to me. The
uh And that was Andrew Philippony's report from the fan
in Pittsburgh who said, yeah, they like the idea of
Daniel Jones and Pittsburgh. I just I don't know why
if you've already got to your point a guy in
Justin Fields who's been there, who reportedly if you believe
(05:31):
some of these other the other stuff that's come out,
there were a lot of people there that preferred him
over Russell Wilson. That it was Mike Tomlin who ultimately
made the call, but a lot of people that wanted
to see them stick with Justin Fields at quarterback last year.
He got along much better with Arthur Smith than Russell
Wilson did. Why not just stay there and instead we
(05:51):
got the Jets being thrown out, Daniel Jones being mentioned
in Pittsburgh. It just some of these just don't add
up to me. It doesn't make sense.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
Say Justin Fields was protecting the ball and in his
starts for the Steelers, I think he only had one
interception and during his time starting, but there may be
were only one or two performances where you would say,
(06:23):
do you do you trust that he can come in
and be the guy that that leads your your offense?
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Is is it?
Speaker 6 (06:33):
Is?
Speaker 3 (06:34):
It?
Speaker 4 (06:34):
Is it a decision that you make bring hanging him
into New York where you do say it is your
it is your personnel that would make it easier on him.
You do have a breeze haul in the backfield that
can run the ball. And that could take a lot
of pressure off of off of Justin fields having to
(06:55):
throw the ball. And by the way, if you're able
to implement the type of of re read pass option
like you've done in Philadelphia, I mean having Lazard and Wilson.
I doubt Adams will be back, but you never know.
Maybe he comes back, but you do have a really,
(07:17):
really fine group of receivers and a fine running back
in Breess in New York. I do think personnel wise,
Justin Phields, if used correctly, would have a better opportunity
of having more success than what he would in Pittsburgh,
where I like Nause, I like Naji Divenport, but I
(07:40):
just or Najiett Harris. But I just do not feel
as though he's that difference maker that we thought he
would transition into being into at the league level. We
have the conversations about Pickens. You know, the other guys
you got Jeff Van, Jefferson, Roman Wilson, Mike Williams. I mean,
you have guys that are serviceable guys. Friar Mouf is
(08:04):
a guy tight end you can depend on Friar movef
But I just don't look at this this personnel grouping
as one that was conducive to Russell Wilson or or
Justin feels having proper success or adequate opportunities to have success.
So to me, I know, it's not always greener on
(08:27):
the other side, and you do have one year under
your belt being in Pittsburgh. But if I could get
to a team like New York and they're going to
take a chance on me, this is probably his last
chance to really legitimately be a starter in this league. Anyway,
outside of any type of extraordinary circumstances, I might take
the chance on seeing what I could get done going
(08:49):
into the New York market and playing there with that personnel.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
I mean, Pittsburgh just feels like they're Dallas AFC. They're
just you know, they're there. There'll be contending for a
playoff spot, and that's just about it. Like there's no
serious threat that they're going to make a run. Like
in that division, in that conference, there's just no real
threat they're going to make a run. You don't have
a quarterback.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
If you're if you're questioning who your quarterback is right now,
how do you have the ability to to compete for
it in one of the toughest, if not toughest divisions
in all of the NFL.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
I mean, this is going to be three straight years
Pittsburgh is going into the season with a brand new starter,
like it's you know, it was can You Pickett, then
it was Russell Wilson justin fields whatever last year was,
and then this year it looks like, you know, if
you believe this report, if it's not going to be
Russell Wilson, if he's gone, then you know, there goes
your continuity out the window because you've got a new
(09:48):
quarterback that's going to be taken over. Pittsburg.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
Just I just don't know what that continuity has led to,
you know. And now I think that again, I thought
that the seat was warming up for Mike Tomlin this
past season. I think it gets really really hot if
if they don't have more success this season, which is
crazy to say, like, because what's more success? They they
win and they make it to the playoffs. But I
(10:12):
just think that winning in playoffs maybe may have run
its course in terms of a justification for for Mike
Tomlin as the head coach. And there's now starting to
be a little bit more criticisms. Levy towards Mike Tomlin
and what his ability to lead this team, what that
(10:33):
looks like moving forward. And I got to say, maybe
even as an analyst or maybe even as a fan,
I don't know which one falls under. But I almost
feel like it's getting to the point where it's it's warranted,
like you got to find stability and what it is
that you're doing. I thought it was an interesting, Oh
you want him fired?
Speaker 3 (10:54):
No, I don't. I thought I thought it was on Twitter.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
I thought it was an interesting, interesting experiment to do
what you did with Justin Fields and Russell Wilson. But
I also, in some regard, I feel as though you
chopped out the legs from under both of them in
this scenario. I don't know that either one of them
had a fair opportunity to be successful under the circumstances
(11:18):
of knowing that you brought in a former starter from
a different team and you guys are on prove it
deals this year. I just don't know. And it didn't
turn out that it was positive. I mean, they didn't
go very far, so I don't know. I think the
hot seat is the seat is hot this year for
Mike Tomlin.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
It feels like teams hedge, and in this case, that
was essentially what they did by bringing them both in,
even though I mean all along it sounded like Mike
Tomlin knew Russell would be the guy when he was ready.
And then he had the calf injury which occurred what
in preseason, like late in training camp. Yeah, and at
that point, especially when you could see him kind of
out moving around for this some of the pregame warm ups,
(12:01):
Like I remember first seeing him going like, there's no
way he's anywhere close to playing at this point. I mean,
it was going to be at least a month, if
not more, And it happened to coincide with maybe a
downturn for the Steelers and what they're looking for and
upticking their offense.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
And look, it worked.
Speaker 5 (12:15):
I mean, see whatever you want for that period of
time when Russell Wilson came in and started, all of
a sudden, the deep ball came back. As Pete Priscow
would call it the moon ball, whatever he wants to say,
it's effective. And it felt like he gave that offense
and that team a spark. Now that crashed at the
end of the season, and for whatever reason. I mean again,
there is other reasons other than just quarterback play. You know,
(12:37):
Picking struggled to consistently, you know, play a role in
impact like I think he can. But when you go
back to the initial conversation, it's almost like going into
the whole deal. They were trying to attack it in
two ways. Kind of a young promising guy with upside
and fields, but then a approven veteran and a guy
maybe who has a chip on his shoulder who they
could give for cheap as well. Instead of just putting
(12:59):
all their in one basket, they kind of hedged on it,
and it's kind of how the season went really in
a nutshell.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Would you guys take wherever Aaron Rodgers ends up? Uh?
And because obviously part of the discussion was the Jets
and them have an interest in justin fields, Would you
guys take next year team to finish with a better record,
the Jets or whatever team Rogers ends up with, Because
I'll take whatever team Rodgers ends up with.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
That's not saying that Aaron Rodgers is going to start
where he goes.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
See if he's a starter, would you next year? Yeah, Rogers,
wherever Rodgers goes because the Jets may be interested in
justin Fields. I know this one fact about the Jets.
Whatever decision they make is going to be the wrong one.
Speaker 5 (13:47):
Well, that's that's what's funny about this though, is LeVar
in a year where like you get Rogers back healthy,
they have another year to make the roster look better.
This team brings on DeVante Adams. At no point did
everyone to get on that bandwagon because he kept preaching dysfunction.
He was right, he was right. Ultimately he was right.
But now you're actually pausing and giving this some pot man.
(14:10):
What kid is that somehow the Jets, somehow, the Jets
have ridden themselves no of the dysfunction that you talked
about for so long, and they don't even have a quarterback.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
I'll say this, I do not rid them of the dysfunction.
They were a five and twelve team. I said they
would finish less than ten victories. I think they finished
with less than ten victories this upcoming season as well.
But there's the chance that they've made that Aaron Rodgers
may catch on to a team that is in just
as poor condition as the well, the way the Jets
(14:44):
are being ran, That's that's all I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
I don't necessarily think that.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
I don't necessarily think that it's based upon the Jets
ridding themselves of anything. I think Aaron Glenn has his
work cut out for them for certain, and but there
are teams out there that he can end up with
that could possibly be in poor, poor condition poorer conditions then, uh,
(15:13):
you know than the New York.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
I'll tell you this right now. Tennessee is one of
the worst teams in the league. If Rogers ended up
with the Titans, I would take the Titans to have
a better record.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
Next year in the Jets, See, I don't there's certain teams,
but I'm just not I'm not.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
It's like we're on escalators in a mall and Brady
and I are going in your direction, going hey, we're here,
and you're going the other way. Now, like what's happening.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I just I don't think that
it's responsible.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Damn.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
It's just say that they're going like whoever year takes.
I think the Cleveland Browns could stink again next year,
stink even more epically than what they did this year.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
By the way, Rogers on Cleveland would be sweet.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
I think no New England could stink, even though I
like I like Rabel, they could stink. Definitely, Jacksonville they
could stink really bad. The Vegas Rams, they could stink,
or the Vegas Raiders they could stink. I mean the
Carolina Panthers. I'm not any teams outside of the top
(16:15):
ten teams picking in the draft. The Chicago Bears on down,
I would say they stand the chance of having a
worse season than the New York Jets.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
I will take that bet.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
Now, anybody outside of that first ten, yeah, I'll take them.
I'll say they'll have a better year with Aaron Rodgers.
But like, Okay, San fran they could have a really
really fine year they add Aaron Rodgers. Where else are
you adding Aaron Rodgers? The Colts? They could have a
finer year. Where else is he going? Where else?
Speaker 3 (16:49):
Where? Else?
Speaker 4 (16:52):
Where else is he going? Pittsburgh is okay, Pittsburgh would
have a better year.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
Some speculation maybe if if Stafford the Rams part ways,
maybe Rogers to the Ring, they would have they would
have a better year.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
Now that's that's more specific, and they would have a
better season.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
I'm saying, I don't care who it is. It could be. Yeah,
Stam Peters. I ain't doing that. I'll take Rogers.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
I'm not doing that. You took Rogers this year? Yeah, yeah,
that's right. Okay, And look where I got us wins.
Look where I got us in.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Do you want to use Notre Dame now too, because
I'm going at you. Yeah, you want to leverage? Tell
you something? Our support of Aaron Rodgers got us in
a Netflix documentary? Okay, well that.
Speaker 5 (17:30):
Is I mean you which that is? You were You're
really I mean, no one really knows that until you
bring it.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
Up episode three Enigma? What what? What exactly did you say?
Johnas I guarantee you'll know the quote? I really don't.
I don't know. It was something about him working out
and the criticism of Rogers rooms.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
And and who did you pay off to somehow include
yourself as part of that documentary?
Speaker 3 (17:56):
I didn't even know.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
And nobody told there was something that has been There
had to have been some favors that were done or something.
Speaker 3 (18:04):
I mean, I will say this, where he was working out,
the facility he was working out in was in Westlake Village,
which is the neighboring town two thousand Oaks, where I reside.
So just I think it's just coincidence. But I think
the support of Aaron Rodgers from us has gotten us
in a Netflix documentary, which this should be thrown on
(18:24):
the IMDb. Lee, you're a big out speaking of that.
Speaker 5 (18:28):
And didn't you say like you started like an adult
film somewhere around there and then you segued into sportstock ration.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
You have a big difference between Chatsworth and then Westlake Village,
Like there's a huge difference. And I don't know if
any of that work it would be included in an
IMDb either. At least I thought you.
Speaker 5 (18:43):
Had to start at like one level or one side
of that work, and then you get to go to
the other side of eventually.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
Is that what it is? Yeah, that's what you told me. Yeah, okay,
here's let me go ahead. You we'll toss up the
alley wop. I was part of the clean up crew,
and then we'll go as that. We start there and
we just slowly build. That's where the resumes started. Ass
for all right, this is just again this is the
unprofessionalism that really is traveling from time to time. Lee,
you're one of these loser Hollywood movie fans. Thank you. Yes,
(19:12):
with the oscars coming up, which will be eating up
way too much time on our show during the week
in our normal time slot. But IMDb, can you go
in there and edit it yourself? Like, can you create
one by yourself? Is it like a Wikipedia or is that?
Because I would like to go in there and have
everybody from our show be able to credit Enigma on
(19:33):
Netflix as part of our IMDb page.
Speaker 7 (19:35):
There is a process where you create your own IMDb
profile and then you get approved by the administer the administrators,
and they let you work on certain projects. They let
you edit your page.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
See all right, there you go, So let's let's start
efforting that. Get an IMDb work. Yeah, I mean Brady's
and Wendy's commercials LeVar was in a car commercial. Famous
impression back in the day. You do you got one? Yeah?
I have a pae hell yeah, yeah, I have a birthplace,
stick City? What movie?
Speaker 4 (20:08):
The Gentleman's League? W w E RAW NFL Monday Night
Football NFL on Fox.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
I will kick the covers. I'll make it on it.
I guess I've done a lot of things. That's when
we were we didn't have our name. We were filling
in for for Clay Travis. When they were making the
decision on the permanent replacement for the show.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
I think that's what that was from. Oh, okay, maybe
that's what it was. What does it say there? It
ended up taking It doesn't have Jonas Knox in there though.
Undercard for the Jonas Knocks Show right there. This is
twenty twenty one. We've been together that long.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Undercard for the JKS right there. It doesn't so long time. Yeah,
it's been a long time, you say that. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
So to the foolish dude that tweeted yesterday that I
had to turn out us all by, I don't like,
but I definitely didn't like listen to those kiss my
ass's bitch, kiss my ass?
Speaker 3 (21:08):
All right? Thank you? All right?
Speaker 4 (21:10):
Okay, that is not a dumpable offense either. By the way,
I know my rules. I mean I told my line
I know my rules, and he is that.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
Ryan are just trying to hold their breath for three
hours after what Ryan did before the show the studio, Well,
he likes toss salads with Jelly.
Speaker 8 (21:28):
Who eats a salad with Jelly? I used ranch, sir, apparently, Chris,
I'm going it.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
Is the herd. Here On Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox in for Colin coming up next here, though,
we do have a money making opportunity potentially in the
NFL involving two new coaches.
Speaker 6 (21:56):
We'll get into that for you right here on FSR
one more. The Herd streams twenty four hours a day,
seven days a week. Within the iHeartRadio app, search Herd
to listen live or on demand whenever you like.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
It is The Herd here on Fox Sports Radio. LaVar Arrington,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you in for Colin coming
up here. A little over fifteen minutes from now, we
will have another edition of The Herdline News starring lead
to Lap, who has yet to give us any information
about exactly how yesterday went. It was a big day
for lead To Lap, and apparently it's going to be
(22:33):
a big day for one of the greatest of all time.
He could be on his way to the NFL. So
we've got some details for you on that. Now, you
can go on to a fine establishment, a fine place
like DraftKings if you want, and you can go on
there and you can find all sorts of peaks into
the future when it comes to money making opportunities like,
(22:54):
for example, to win the MVP next year, Lamar Jackson
Josh Allen at plus five fifty. If you want to
look at comeback Player of the Year Aiden Hutchinson at
two to one coming off that injury, Christian McCaffrey's sitting
at three to one. And then you can also go
to Coach of the Year, where right now Mike Rabel
(23:15):
and Ben Johnson are your current favorites at plus seven
fifty to win Coach of the Year, which feels like
pretty decent return. Mike Rabel and Ben Johnson feels like
a pretty pretty decent return at plus seven fifty. If
you think those guys are going to be the answer
to fixing whatever the mess was there in either New
(23:37):
England or Chicago, and they've got the young quarterback to
do so, you might want to jump on that here.
That was wick, This was going to be my question.
Speaker 5 (23:44):
Is this more about the faith in them as coaches
to get both these teams turned back around or does
it after the roster are more importantly their quarterbacks because
they both have young quarterbacks promising young quarterbacks, And that's
what I really feel like this is about. This is
about Drake made Caleb Williams taking that next step in
their second year based off what we've seen so far
(24:06):
in their rookie years and having that sort of improvement
where you know, you look at Jay Daniel season had
a great season. Obviously there's there's still room for improvement,
but you know, Drake May and Caleb Williams, if they improve,
you know they've got a little more room for improvement,
So it would look like a bigger jump, I guess.
And that's what I think these odds are about. It's
more about the quarterback play on both those teams more
(24:29):
so than it is anything that Mike Rabel or Ben
Johnson will do. And I think the other thing too,
on that note, is that it's a bit unfair that
like guys like Andy Reid and Nick Sirianni, who you
to say, Okay, like Sierranni's got, they got some guys
who they'll lose, but they've built up rosters. Howie Roseman's
done a great job, like they'll be right back competitive,
probably the favorite to win the Super Bowl or the
(24:49):
favorite to at least win the NFC.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Same thing for Kansas City.
Speaker 5 (24:53):
And yet you don't hear Andy Reid and Nick Sirianni's
names at the top of these lists, and that doesn't
make a lot of sense to me.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
Yeah, I agree, I don't I do to answer the question,
I just definitely think it has to do with both.
The biggest factors are they do have a franchise caliber
draft high draftee quarterback, but it's also the coaching reputation
of both that makes them front runners in this scenario.
(25:21):
But I just gotta be honest with you. I when
you look at these teams and what they have, like, okay,
I like, I like what the Chicago Bears have. Caleb
Williams did not have a bad season. I continue to
say that, like it's almost like we're looking at Caleb
(25:43):
and we're and it's like, well, you know, he could
have done better. Like, I don't know how he could
have done much better. His numbers are very comparable to
Jaydon Daniels, who won Rookie of the Year offense Rookie
of the Year. Now he's off on a couple like
maybe total yards or whatever it may be. But I mean,
(26:04):
I feel like his his stat line was was pretty solid. Throwing,
he set a record, I mean, he threw for the
most yards. Ever, for what a rookie quarterback and Bear's history,
I just you know, well, I mean that's not that's
not saying much. Well, he threw for a lot of yards,
But I just I just don't I just don't think
(26:27):
that it gets these situations that these two franchises have
found themselves in. I don't think the situation gets rectified
in year one by either one of these coaches, no
matter how good they are, no matter how good Mike
Vrabel has been, no matter how good Ben Johnson has
called games. That's not You're not going to be in
(26:49):
the same situation, even though you're in the same division,
You're not going to be in the same setup that
you were when you had the comfort.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
And ability to just call plays and so. But to
be coach of the Year, there's also kind of a
an underlying prerequisite for the most part, like you had
to have sucked the year before, And New England and
Chicago both qualified they were bad the year before. They
just fired their previous coach. And so those guys stepping
(27:19):
into a roster with talented quarterbacks and with you know,
talented pieces around him. Yeah, that's that's why it would
make sense because if you really wanted to hand the
award out for best coach, Like I mean, you could
find coaches who had made deep playoff runs, like Stefanski
won it twice. Well he won it twice because the
year prior they weren't good, and so I just I
(27:42):
feel like the Coach of the Year odds is kind
of skewed towards Yeah, to Brady's point, like it's it's
a team that wasn't very good, and often the guys
because of it's you're just used to it or you've
got fatigued by it, are kind of overlooked. Because if
that was the case, Belichick should have wanted to fifteen
times during his run in New England.
Speaker 5 (28:02):
Well yeah, but that's the problem when you have Tom
Brady or if you're Andy Reid and you have Patrick
mahomes is, you never really get all the credit, right.
I mean, those players can win MVPs, those players can
win you know, offensive Player of the Year awards, but
you can't share.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
In that as a coach. Like that's kind of the
crappy thing about it.
Speaker 5 (28:19):
And I think it's kind of like Phil Jackson, Like
Phil Jackson is obviously a phenomenal coach, and he is
because of the success that he's had. But granted he's
had some of the all time greatest effer obviously Jordan Kobe,
et cetera. But it's not like that's easy to keep
all that together, you know, all the different egos everything else.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Yeah, that's a hard say. Yeah, well I think about it.
Speaker 5 (28:40):
I mean, even Steve Kerr with a different you know,
run that they had in Golden State and the different
person he had on that team.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
Like, just because you've you've.
Speaker 5 (28:47):
Got all those weapons, all that talent, all that skill,
that doesn't mean you're they're all gonna be able to
put it together to be able to equate to success.
And there is something to the coach's impact on that.
So I don't know, I just I hate when I
see odds like that that come out out and immediately
we just kind.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Of point turned two.
Speaker 5 (29:03):
Well, their teams stunk last year, they've got young quarterbacks,
they just took over these places, so they should see
the biggest jumping improvement. It's like, well, okay, I mean
I was just going to discount then teams that ended
up going with fifteen and two or a team that
goes sixteen and one, right, I mean we wanted to
give got it.
Speaker 4 (29:22):
He should have got it this year. I mean, let's
be clear, Dan Campbell, with what he overcame to get
to where he was ultimately at one game away from
the Divisional championship, with all the injuries, I thought it
was hands down that Dan Campbell should get it.
Speaker 8 (29:38):
Now.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
I get what happened in Minnesota was amazing. I get that,
I get in a couple other places is amazing. But
Dan Campbell clearly showed a resiliency as a coach, the
ability to be able to be flexible and adapt to
what his given scenarios were as a coach. And what
he doesn't get it, I don't. I just don't understand
(30:01):
again the whole of the Year Awards. I'm totally thrown
off and confused by the approach of it, by what
the voters are looking for and what they want.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
All Right, So I guess the point what I'm saying
is we don't. It doesn't go both ways. We don't
look at the MVP and go, he's got a hell
of a coach. I mean that should we really should
we really you know, be thinking about that. But we
look at a coach that way and maybe you say
it's like, well, because you know the coach is the
one that's gonna receive the most. You know, I guess
appreciation from the talent of the ass a round. That's fine,
(30:34):
but he still plays his role too.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Just on the note of odds that you can find
for these awards on DraftKings, Like, honest question for Comeback
Player of the Year, why is JJ McCarthy on the
list at plus seven fifty. He hasn't played yet in
the NFL. Like he's like, he's never took a snap,
So what is like coming back from what? Well, he's
(31:01):
on a team, he got hurt, and he did play
in the preseason technically, yeah, but he never played a
regular season game.
Speaker 5 (31:05):
He's battling through not playing Jonas Okay, that's that's that's
what he's battling.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
Anthony Richardson at thirty five to one. What's he coming
back from taking it taking a knee and opting out
of a game? Yeah, I thought it was some seriousness,
but yeah, I just like, I don't know, there's just
some of the stuff doesn't doesn't.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
There needs to be more of a defined, a defined
criteria for whatever that is.
Speaker 4 (31:29):
We'll come back play the year, I think for any
I think for any of them, which.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
I ought to tell you how great Joe Flacco was
that he won over Tomar Hamlin, who almost died on
the field the year before.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
Damar Hamlin was still up for the award this year. Correct,
probably I think he was, come on, man, like, when
when when has enough time going back?
Speaker 3 (31:53):
Will he be up for next year? Individuals? Come on, man,
come on.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
I don't know, man, because the whole awards, I told you,
my whole rundown on the awards this year was trash, man.
The awards were trash this year. Period.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
All I know is that lead to lap And I
walked by where they were having the awards at that
theater in New Orleans, and it was I think two
days before the event, and they looked like they were
not ready to go at all, like they had scaffolding out.
You had people loitering outside, people sleeping on the streets
in New Orleans.
Speaker 5 (32:28):
Beautiful place. Though, well let's not miss the real story.
What was Lee drinking with them while you guys were
walking by the venue. That was actually after we went
we went to the hand nade.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
No, no, nothing at all because remember We went to
dinner that night at the Italian Place where we saw
Howie Roseman. What the hell was that name? Demonica too?
But yeah, wait I thought you said you didn't go
out with them after that, But no, we went back. No,
we walked back to go see that church that was nearby.
There was a church nearby. I wanted to go see it.
(33:00):
Walked over around the corner. And then if you walk
back and it's like, oh, there's that theater where they're
gonna have the award show and it was not built.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
The bigger story here is what Lee is doing in
the control room right now. That is the bigger story. Yesterday,
Oh payback from you. You're going a little overboard, Okay,
I gotta be honest.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
Hey man, what did you eat? You?
Speaker 7 (33:18):
That's with the bull. You're gonna get the horns.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Oh wow, welcome to the big league.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
I mean there's a lot of suffering going. Like half
the lightsol can it's gone now.
Speaker 7 (33:29):
You know it's bad when you can't take your own
your own cologne, your own set.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
You need a man, pawd, that's what you need. Day.
It's bad.
Speaker 7 (33:40):
Back there Taco Tuesday, Yesterday, Lee, Lee will get flatulence.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
Yeah, yeah, yeah that helped. You did get banked up yesterday? Huh?
Speaker 7 (33:50):
I did a little bit? Yeah with Todd. Yeah, how'd
that go? Tell us how that went good? We we
went for taco Tuesday. I skipped the movie because I
had already seen it. They went to go see Captain
America and which was awful, by the way, and that
wasn't actually for you, Lee, Lee?
Speaker 3 (34:05):
Why is it awful? Yeah? A new one, Yeah with
Anthony because Captain America? What wow?
Speaker 7 (34:11):
Boring? Oh he was a different B word. He he's black?
Damn he was he black?
Speaker 3 (34:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (34:20):
Also boring, humorless, it was. It was bad movies.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
Captain America.
Speaker 5 (34:24):
Wait, yeah, you went to Captain America for a comedy,
like What's wrong with You?
Speaker 7 (34:28):
It's a Marvel movie. There should be some comedy and
there should be a little bit of lighthearted. It took
itself way too seriously, Tang, why would you watch? Why
would you watch Captain America? We watched Captain Morgan. Was
the Red hol right? Was the Red Hulk good in
the movie?
Speaker 3 (34:41):
Yeah? He was exactly?
Speaker 7 (34:42):
He only five minutes at the end of the movie.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
Yeah, exactly. But the Red Hulk was good. It was good,
his character was good. Movie.
Speaker 7 (34:50):
Yeah, it's not a good movie anyway. Yeah, I skipped
the movie, had a few drinks while they went.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
To the movie. How many rotten tomatoes are you giving it?
U mm hmm yeah, interesting, not great.
Speaker 7 (35:02):
I actually got up and when I went and saw
it the first time, I got up and went to
go get a drink. That's how bad it was. Although
I do that anyway.
Speaker 8 (35:09):
The same people that don't like that movie you are
the same people that didn't like the super Bowl halftime show.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
They look exactly the same. Oh wow, they're not like us.
They're not like They're not like.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
Up top up top. H you skipped the movie and
you just went to Taco Tuesday and throttled.
Speaker 7 (35:35):
Yeah, went to Zaco Tuesday. I think we went to
an arc We did go to an arcade next door?
Speaker 6 (35:38):
After?
Speaker 3 (35:39):
Did you fish for skipping over? What you drank? What
you consume? What did you when I was out?
Speaker 7 (35:44):
I just had a few beers, but uh, you know,
I had a few homemade cocktails before I went on.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
What do you mean? What were they?
Speaker 4 (35:53):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (35:54):
Vodka?
Speaker 4 (35:55):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (35:56):
What are you for? Because yeah, I was wait, did
you black out yesterday?
Speaker 2 (36:02):
No?
Speaker 3 (36:02):
How many times did Dan I could call you? Oh no,
we're giving out names. How many times did you get called.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
Missus my bad? A couple of times, like like twice.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
That was it. Yeah, she was out like twice.
Speaker 7 (36:16):
She was out with her girlfriend and she had.
Speaker 4 (36:18):
Back so you didn't get calls because she was occupied too.
Speaker 7 (36:23):
She thought I was at home.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
She you know, she's like, get you home. Nope. Where
did they go? They went to go see Wicked. She
didn't come find you.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
No, where she was in bed when I got They
didn't go to the same movie theater you went to.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
Nope.
Speaker 7 (36:38):
How far apart were you? Well, I didn't go to
the theater. I didn't go to the movie.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (36:42):
I don't know which movie they went to or what
theater they went to.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
Wow.

He's on top of all how outland as she can
be with the things he says. I don't know. I mean,
he's been on the worst on our show at that.
(39:00):
Who don't its on me? No me, by far.
Speaker 5 (39:02):
I feel like I've gotten dumped more often than not
for not having any idea what I can and cannot say.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
Exactly it's not. It's okay.
Speaker 4 (39:10):
I mean, you know, Petros really really does push the envelope.
I mean it's like he does. It's like playing like
paper football, you know how you get the touchdown Like
he definitely gets touchdowns with the paper football because his
paper be like over off the edge. You know, it's
touchdown like boom touch Yeah. Well there you go, it's true.

Speaker 7 (39:51):
All right, lead the lab. What do we got man?
I haven't thought about paper football in a while.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
It's pretty good. Yeah, he's a fun game. Get a
game going. You still gassing things?
Speaker 4 (40:00):
I am I just let one go. Dang, he's back
there destroying the air.
Speaker 8 (40:04):
I'm gonna stab you dayDay guys.
Speaker 7 (40:10):
Floyd Money Mayweather Junior. He wants to get in the
NFL business. He's putting together a partnership group with Meyer
orback real estate mobile in the realm of seven hundred
million dollars for a ten percent steak in the Giants,
Orbach already owns seventeen percent steak in the Timberwolves. Giants
right now estimated to be about seven point five billion dollars.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
Yeah, so it looks like they're coming up short about
ten percent.
Speaker 5 (40:34):
But also those estimations are are such crap because if
the New York Giants came on the open market, they
would probably closer to eight nine, maybe ten. I mean,
you're talking about the New York Giants, a team in
New York, you know what I'm saying. Like, that's the
hard thing about all these essence we see. We talked
about it the other day, like the Bengals, like a
(40:55):
five billion dollar franchise, and that might be you know,
a little overestimation, but it's a team. They're one of
you know, thirty one excuse that you can own, you
can't win to Packers.
Speaker 3 (41:04):
They've got a different ownership structure.
Speaker 5 (41:06):
But one I would love to see boy made, whether
play a role or part in an ownership group. That'd
be awesome to see, Like what exactly that would.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
Entail how's his strip club doing? Noybody got any uh?
Well details?
Speaker 5 (41:22):
You think that's where you got the cash from? What
you assume it's doing. Well, it's a good start.
Speaker 7 (41:27):
He is estimated to be net worth four hundred million dollars.
Floyd and may Wheel agree.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
That's form. I mean, you know, I would think that,
you know, his gambling habits might also be a deterrent
from wanting him to be involved in the NFL. But
you know, hey, whatever it takes.
Speaker 7 (41:47):
What else you got, lee, Well, somebody who does know
a little something about owning part of a team. Tom Brady,
he's taking heat being called disrespectful for the change he's
made to his autograph. He started including Hof twenty twenty
eight to his autograph.
Speaker 4 (42:00):
What's wrong with that? That's an inscription. That's not a part.
That's not your autograph. It's just an inscription. That's what
you get paid for.
Speaker 7 (42:08):
That hasn't been uh he hasn't been inducted yet.
Speaker 4 (42:11):
So what if there's somebody is that that is that
the year he goes in, that will be the year
he goes Okay, so somebody has a problem with that,
that's going to be a more valuable inscription don't be
a douchebag.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
Geez, like the dude on X Today. G you'r d bag?
What what happened now? I don't know. I just like
taking shots at people, that's all. I don't know. Like
they tell Brady and I we sound great, Hey, Brian,
what's the problem man, I'm sticking up for us.
Speaker 4 (42:43):
B you know what I mean. Come on, come on, broh.
You heard Jonas
