I thank your mom, good night, It's Fox Sports Radio.
Damn Man's a great woman. You just set me up.
That was a good one. I know, I say, but
I love Marianne. She is one of my favorite people. Again,
we're Cavino and Rich. To be honest, I think Hacksaw

(01:20):
Jim Duggan the way you put the inflection on it. Now,
if I went, huh, maybe more of a thundercat. ThunderCats
are on the loose, like Rich Davis. Remember to be
sure to check out the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel.

(02:04):
NBA game. Oh yeah, last night, Danny, aside from tacos,
I have a plan that's to watch this game. I
caught off last night on Love is Blind. Are you
all caught up?

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Yeah? Waiting for the next round? What is it? Friday?

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Friday? You know what's interesting Rich was such a bachelor
boy back in the early two thousands. You skip on
on Bouchler on a Monday night to watch Love is
Blind goes to show you where the juice is at.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, the bachelor old noose, Love is Blind uncensored, more wackos.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
There's a guy love his blind got the juice. Not
to spoil anything, but this dude, Dave, it's such a
weekends with a sunburned face.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Dude, talk about the weakest dude. Maybe he's a nice guy. Hey,
maybe he's listening now. We do have affiliates in Minneapolis.
You what's up?

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Weird?

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Dave from Love is Blind.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
Rich's sister wouldn't like caring this on the radio. Every
other word out of his mouth is I don't know
what my sister would think of this.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
You care about what your siblings think? Yes? I mean
it depends what we're talking about. If it's like, do
I care what they think about Steven and his spending habits? No,
I don't care what they think. Do I care about
their opinion on him whether or not I'm a good person? Yeah?
Not like who you're dating. M Yeah, then you wouldn't

(03:17):
have heard your ex wife thousands, No, no, because you want
them to get along, so it does matter. I can't
say I don't care. Then again, they don't know what's
necessarily I should say my style or my taste. Yeah,
because the people they would choose for you are probably
not the people you would choose.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
And the way he talks about or though it's like
his manager, Oh right, I gotta run this by my sister.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Well that's weird. Yeah. Yeah, well, I mean everybody has
different relationships.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Not to go off the rails on Love's blind, because
there's a really fun story in the world of sports
and Hollywood that sort of ties together and has to
do with greatness. I want to get to But there's
a really funny angle.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Danny J.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Covino's not watching, so me let me throw it out
there real quick.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Don't you assume that before you met the woman you're with,
there was this other dude kicking it to her, or
she had a boyfriend before you.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah, do you think it's the most immedia unless she
looks like large March, unless she unless she's a sea hag. Yeah,
of course she had other guys before you. You fascinated.
There's this dude on Love's one that you just so
hung up on. Wait before you went on the show,
like you were talking to some dude.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
That was our first reaction to my wife and I Rich.
The difference here, though, is the guy that she hooked
up with is in his circle of friends, so he
knows who the guy.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Yeah, but still like if Covino you know this too much?

Speaker 2 (04:40):
You went on a dating show and you know clean Slate,
but it was like, wait, before you entered the Pods
used to date Danny G.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Yeah. I think that's a game changer because like, I
know Danny G. So I know she has bad judgment. No,
but there's girls that I've dated and then I realized
they hooked up with Rich and I'm like, ugh, off
the market, like not interested anymore for real? So I
understand that can't compete. No, just like again, bad judgment.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
Yeah yeah, and he doesn't want to have to take
penicillin exactly true.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
I don't know what she's got now, Well, hey, love
is blind, good time filler to wait for things like
tonight Lakers Mavericks will get to that.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Well.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
I could tie your love is Blind thing into an
actual conversation that we had planned out, but that is.
Life is a competition. It really is. You could pretend
like it's not, but we're all trying to be our
best selves, and we're all keeping up with the Kardashians,
and we're all trying to, you know, be our best,
to be the best. I look at it this way.
I approach life from a sports background, from a sports mentality,

(05:45):
meaning you're trying to be great, You're trying to do
your best. Are we all going to be the next
Michael Jordan? Are we all going to be the next
Michael Phelps? The answer is no. So when you realize
you can't do that, whatever it is you end up doing,
you still try to bring that mentality to your workplace.
At least that's how I approach things in life. Right
and again, sports mentality I grew up as a kid

(06:06):
playing sports didn't pan out the way I thought it would.
You know, every kid wants to be a baseball player. Listen, dude,
I get it. I'm the winningest coach on Fox Sports Radio.
That's true. So again, you approach everything in life the
same way. At least that's how I feel I teach
the little kids. You got to learn how to win
the right way. But also lose the right way. And
my point is, even on a show like Love is

(06:28):
Blind or The Bachelor or whatever stupid game show you're on,
you're bringing your best and you're trying to beat out everybody.
Love is a battlefield. It's the game of love. Did
you make that up? I did, I think, But yeah,
the game of life is a competition in a lot
of ways, which is why. But there's plenty of room
for everybody to win though, right well, which is.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Why this Timothy shallow May story, who, by the way,
as we've learned in the last couple of months, is
a huge sports fan, and a knowledgeable one at.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
That, especially college football. Yeah, college sports seems to be
his thing. He's a Raiders fan. He was rocking an
old school Raider jacket in Paris.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
He's he's a Raiders guy, and he's a good pals
with not not agree with how so we know what
Timothy Chalomey is made of. He's a guy that loves sports,
but he just happens to be a pretty damn good actor.
And he won a Sag Award the other night. I
know you like it when they sag a little bit,
put a little sag when he wins the SAG Award.

(07:25):
He gives a speech I should win a SAG Award.
He gives a speech that rubs some people the wrong way.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
I thought it was awesome again, maybe because I'm a
sports fan and I understand a sports mentality. Competitive mentality?
Why do people like to pretend like you are competing
in a lot of ways? Guess what everybody listening right
now at work or coming back from work, everybody's trying

(07:55):
to take your job. If you're somewhere high up there,
they want your job. They might not admit it, they
might not wish any harm in your life. It might
not be a direct reflection of how they feel about you.
But if you're getting paid more, they want your job.
It's very competitive. No, but it's a competitive world that
we live in. If again, you have a sports mentality,

(08:16):
and you already said it. Timothy shallow May is a
kid who loves his sports, probably played all sorts of
sports growing up. Realized he's a little weenie and said,
you know what, I'm never gonna make it in professional sports,
But I got this mentality in mindset, and I'm gonna
use it in this field of acting, in this new
career that I've.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Found not to reaither what you said, but think about
that when pursuing a woman you care about, when you're
going for that job you want. If you were a
kid that grew up playing sports and you have that
mentality built into you, that's how a lot of us
view life. Take all listen to Schallo May's speech.

Speaker 6 (08:53):
I can't downplay the significance of this award because it
means the most to me. And I know we're in
a subjective business, but the truth is, I'm really in
pursuit of greatness. I know people don't usually talk like that,
but I want to be one of the greats. I'm
inspired by the greats. I'm inspired by the greats here tonight.
I'm as inspired by Daniel day Lewis, Marlon Brando, and

(09:16):
Viola Davis as I am by Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps,
and I want to be up there.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
So I'm deeply.

Speaker 6 (09:20):
Grateful to that this doesn't signify that, but it's a
little more fuel, it's a little more ammo to keep going.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
I'm on a pursuit for greatness. How cool is this?
You would think that everybody applauded that speech because it
was off the cuff, and it wasn't the kiss ass
speech you normally hear to the academy or to the
people the SAG Awards or my fellow actors, who I
want to kiss your ass and everybody with a kiss
ass stroke fest. He's like, yo, I'm trying to beat
all your asses here. I'm trying to be the best.

(09:48):
I'm not playing games. I'm here to win now. And
I think that's so cool, dude, in refreshing. Yet he's
getting backlash for that. Now. The only rub is that
art is subjective, Then why are they giving out awards.
Rich's okay, so don't give me that hogwash. Don't give
me a subjective when you're given out awards. It's an
awards show. He wanted to win. I commend him for

(10:11):
being honest here and say, n I wanted to be
all your weak asses, a complete unknown. He won for that.
The Bob Dylan story SAG Awards. Now we're heading into
the Oscars this weekend, and again the story's becoming a
bit of a thing because they're like, we don't like
his attitude toward you know, the academy and his competitive nature.
He's saying, I want to be the Michael Jordan and

(10:33):
Michael Phelps of what I do, and I think everybody
should have that same approach and whatever it is they
do well with.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
All due respect the people chirping the lattice on the
other side, or like a lot of these cackling women
on like the View and these roundtable shows.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
What show did you find this on? Oh well, this
has gone viral too, But this is just one of
many clips and one that aggravated me the most. It's
from the Social I don't even know what that is.
Melissa goes on a ramp about how offended she is
by what Shala May said about to be great in
his pursuit of greatness.

Speaker 7 (11:02):
I don't want to knock anybody's hustle, but Timothy, that
should have stayed in your journal.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
My friends, not even funny? What are they laughing at? Unfunny?

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Timothy?

Speaker 7 (11:14):
You know, there's like inside thoughts and outside thoughts. And
he just blurted it out, and I just thought to myself,
you little brats.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Are people holding up left signs? Yes? Must there must
be like a bud like a laugh studio track. I'm
sure there's a lightness as a pause. Hey, Sam, I'm
gonna point to you every time I want you to play.
That racked him. Damn near killed them. My dad always
used to say that joke. So to me criticizing someone's

(11:47):
pursuit of greatness, whether it's in the arts, in sports,
as an accountant, as a doctor, as a scientist, like,
are we all pursuing greatness and trying to be the best?

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Yes? We could be, Like, how could you criticize this
dude getting up there who comes from a sports background,
who said, listen, I admire the greats you inspire me.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
I want to the way Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps are great.
I want to be that in acting. And she says,
do you love me? And she says no. But that's
a real nice scheme. Ask will delay on that black?
Is it because I'm Mexican? It's and delay on a
taco Tuesday? Now continue with this nonsense that this woman

(12:31):
on the social spits about shallow may Sam. Yeah, let's
pick it up because she has a problem with his
pursuit of great Good up.

Speaker 7 (12:41):
My daughter up there went up there and said something
like that.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
I'd be like to.

Speaker 7 (12:45):
Quote one Kendrick Lamar be humble. Here's the thing with acting.
It's not like a sport where you can rack up numbers.
You know, Oh I've got so many wins and I'm
the best, and I'm the next Michael Jordan, I'm the
next Tiger Woods. It's not like that In art. Art,
Guess what. Guess who determines if you're great? Your audience,
not you.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Then stop giving out awards, you idiots. I don't understand that. Yes,
art is subjective. We could all agree, right, I could
look at something and think it's the stupidest thing ever,
other people put high value on it. Because it's subjective,
it's art. Then stop giving out awards. If you're gonna
give out awards. I don't blame Timothy Shamela Shallamela ding

(13:23):
Dong No, as Adam Sandler would call him. Oh yes,
timmyv Shannemy. Ah, you can't blame him for wanting to win.
I love that he's a winner. I love his attitude.
I think we should all take a little piece of
that competitive edge to whatever it is we do, especially

(13:43):
on today. You know, today's the anniversary of today. Today
is the anniversary off I'll reenact already. I'm the greatest
of all time. I'm the greatest today, saying that they
were the greatest of all time. That Bawler his mama
called him Cassius. I'm call him Cash. Is not Pete Webber.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Today's a day Cash Cassius clay On this day beat
Sonny Liston and it was Muhammad Ali's first heavyweight title.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Ah and the greatest.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Soh timmythy t shallow may fantastic. I think he's a
great young young actor. I'll tell you where he won
me over, no joke. I was on a flight and
never would I have thought to watch Wonka saying, and
I was like, I never liked the original, you know what.
I'm like, I'm on a flight. It's free on Delta

(14:36):
American whatever else flying and I said, I'll watch it,
and I'm like, this kid's crazy.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Same. I felt the same exact way he had me
at Hello, he had me at Wanka. And here's the question.
Based on that, you got this kid who's really refreshing.
He's going up there like a bro saying, yeah, I'm
here to, like, you know, kick everyone's ass. I'm here
to be one of the greats, and I want everybody
in his stupid academy to know I'm for victory, and

(15:00):
I'm here to win. I want to be up there
with Michael Jordan and Michael Phelps, with all the greats
in acting. I want to be considered a great. I
think that's awesome. I love that even more about the
dude when someone says stuff like that and on his
Fox Sports radio, do you embrace it or do you
let it rub you the wrong way?

Speaker 4 (15:19):
Like?

Speaker 1 (15:20):
Should other people be saying those things about you? That
was the criticism that Ricky Henderson got many many years
ago when he broke Lou Brock's record. Ricky Henderson was
on he was on second base, right, he grabs the base.
He steals that one too. He holds it up in
the air and he's like, today, I'm the greatest of
all time. And he was because he was the record holder.

(15:40):
But he got a lot of criticism for that too, like, hey, man,
let someone else patch you on the back and toot
your horn. You should be tooting your own.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
I'll pat Timothy Shallowman on the back for a being
a knowledgeable sportsman, for being a hell of an actor.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Hen he's dating Kylie Jenner, who's quite the looker. Major
So Timid is Shatam.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Gets uh some props from Covino and Rich here on
Fox Sports Radio. The pursuit of greatness there is something
never never, there's never anything wrong.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
I think it could be humble and express that you're
out for greatness all at the same time. D be
your thoughts on this.

Speaker 8 (16:15):
I will readily admit that I want your job like
I'm not like I'm but I say that in the
most respectful way of laying in this business of having
my show or my name on the show in that
window like, yeah, I think that's what we I don't
want to say we all do because I don't know,
but that's that's my.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
That's the refreshing honesty that we're getting here from his
speech though that'ess we can do a Sam's job dance. No,
he's going to plant the drugs on you at the
next Uh, already done, already done. Yes, And I have
the Patreon show too that we do every day. And
I forget what I'm pretty sure the conversation came up there,

(16:54):
but we we went on some sort of mission about
like you assume people know what you're after or know
what you want, whether it be in relationships, that hot
woman that you know that job opening like you assume
that people know what you're after, but not necessarily. You
need to make it clear. Sometimes I want that job. Hey,

(17:14):
I want to be with you. I like you. I
want to spend time with you. You need to let
people know. How many times do you hear people say, oh,
I didn't know. How many times have you seen a
woman well on in a roma? Oh my god, I
would have never known. You've always had a crush on me,
Like you should have told her. And to back up
with Dan, Buyer said, Dan, the job is yours. Guess
guess what we want Dan Patrick's job. He retires.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
I mean to say that no one has their eye
on a prize is ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
And he's saying, my eye is on being the best.
I'm looking. I'm picking out great roles so that I
could be considered one of the best, the best intact bressed.
I was thinking of his girlfriend. That's why.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
I was Samuel play the Timothy sell May speech one
more time because he references the greats in movies and.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Then he compares it to some sports figures.

Speaker 6 (18:02):
I can't downplay the significance of this award because it
means the most to me, and I know we're in
a subjective business.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Say he even said that, But the truth is, I'm.

Speaker 6 (18:12):
Really in pursuit of greatness. I know people don't usually
talk like that, but I want to be one of
the greats. I'm inspired by the greats. I'm inspired by
the greats here tonight. I'm as inspired by Daniel day Lewis,
Marlon Brando, and Viola Davis as I am by Michael Jordan,
Michael Phelps, and I want to be up there.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
So I'm deeply grateful to that.

Speaker 6 (18:31):
This doesn't signify that, but it's a little more fuel.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
It's a little move keep going by the way. You
think anybody that we admire in entertainment or sports, do
you think any of these people didn't have the same
exac mentality. You think it just happened because they were
swell fellas? Who know they were after greatness? Who does
everyone sweat? Our generation sweats two basketball players more than anyone.
Michael Jordan, who he learned in the Last Dance is

(18:54):
a psychopath, and Kobe Bryant mamboy like cutthroat, off kill
you like, so you look at some of the greats.
This makes me love Timothy shalmany you got a number
one super fan, Timothy Shallow, maybe because say, I like
the honesty he's number one super fan, his number true? Rich, No,

(19:15):
I'm number one, he's number two. I want to be
his number one super fan. Like I'm letting. I'm letting
everybody know rich.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Already took the spot.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
You could have it, because sometimes the number two is
better than the number one. Oh yeah, that is true,
especially after their Taco Tuesday. Guys, your thoughts, because I
think it's gross. Here's what I think. I think it's gross.
I don't know this person from the social so it's
nothing personal. She's probably a right lady, but she's also
a person that is speaking on behalf of a lot
of people though a lot of people that are like

(19:47):
are subjective. Where's his humility? This is not how you
know entertainers should react. In fact, the whole premise of
this speech is like, wow, Shallow may really stepped out
of a the norm here with this speech.

Speaker 8 (20:01):
You know who she's talking to though, and I don't
know who it is. I don't know the show. She's
talking to the other women who are at the table,
meaning like I don't want to be in your chair,
But you know, darn well, on the view of the
American version, there's somebody that wants to be in Whoope's
chair exactly right, But this is her trying to cover
up with her three friends there of like, we really got.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
To get off this Dan where like you know, where
we're pretending to not want to bring and be our
best because you're just raising a bunch of lame o,
lazy kids where we should be preaching exactly what Shallam
is saying right there? Like I have a teenage daughter.
You think I want to show her what this woman
is saying? Or do I want to show her what
shall am I saying? No, go after greatness and be

(20:43):
the best that you could.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Be the end, And we'll take your feedback next to
if you if you want to chime in eight seven, seven,
nine to nine on Fox. A true winning mentality from
it's a sports mentality rich it really is. And that's
what's setting him from the other nerds in Hollywood. What's
interesting is that all these kids audition against each other.

(21:07):
Isn't that the competition of all competitions? You would think so, right,
Trust me, you auditioned for a big movie role. That's
that's that's are they not competing? Auditioning for what a
bunch of fraud? An Academy Award level movie is the
same as trying to make a starting rotation in baseball.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
It is the elite competition. Good luck? Is that subjective? No,
someone beat your ass out, no doubt, we're harder.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Well, Hey, Camino Rich Fox Sports, Ready on that wather,
you're teeing off, headed to the office, kicking back, watching
the big game, watching love is blind, watching whatever you're doing.

you do in life, everything is competitive, no matter what.

(23:08):
My daughter's a big nerd for real. She's a cute kid.
She's a cheerleader. She's not like a typical nerd like
some people I know growing up. Why did you just
look at Ia, Sam, He said that I did not.
My point is even in the world of smarts and academics.
You should see how competitive these kids are with their grades.

(23:30):
My daughter has a four point. Oh, I'm like, that's
not good enough. These kids are so competitive, and they
even talk down to kids who they think are lesser
than when it comes to their smarts. We growing up
with sports always competitive. When you have that competitive mindset,
it trinkles down, trinkles, trickles whatever, trinkle. I'll go with trinkle.

(23:52):
I like trinkling into whatever it is you do moving forward.
So again, I said it before when I realized I
wasn't playing short stuff for the Yankees only because they
had Jeter. My next step was broadcasting. Yeah, he had
it covered. It's so I was like, all right, I
get it right. Whatever I did moving forward, I heard it.

(24:13):
I heard it wasn't because you didn't want to shave
your goateea in the nineties. But it's true. That's that
is true. Actually, I forget who said this. Let's just
say my grandma for fun, my tita. Whatever it is
you do in life, if you're mopping floors at McDonald's,
you bring your best and you become the best. You

(24:33):
bring that competitive mentality to the forefront. So that you
could be the best. And Timothy Shallomey, as a sports fan,
I believe he's done that in the world of acting.
In fact, he admitted it when he received a SAG
Award and it rubbed all these nerdy arts people the
wrong way. Yeah, one last time, take a listen to Shy.

Speaker 6 (24:54):
I can't downplay the significance of this award because it
means the most to me. And I know we're in
subjective business, but the truth is, I'm really in pursuit
of greatness. I know people don't usually talk like that,
but I want to be one of the greats. I'm
inspired by the greats. I'm inspired by the greats here tonight.
I'm as inspired by Daniel day Lewis, Marlon Brando, and

(25:17):
Viola Davis as I am by Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps,
and I want to be up there.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
So I'm deeply grateful to that this.

Speaker 6 (25:23):
This doesn't signify that, but it's a little more fuel,
it's a little more ammo to keep going.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Hell yeah, and I hope you win the Academy Award
this week.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Said, and by the way, you don't think that same
mindset applies to Taylor Swift or Kendrick Lamar.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
Or all the grades. Dude, they're after it. You've got
to be after Nesta mentality, that everybody needs to have that,
and that we need to preach to our kids, not
the BS backlash to the kids getting because the point
is he's getting a lot of backlash from that because
art subjective. No, everything's competitive. Let's go back to the
phones and see what you think about it, because I

(25:55):
really commend what he said, and Rich is saying Rich
said it before. He really won everybody over.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
As I originally saw the headline like oh, shollow me,
fumbles of speech, and I'm like, fumbles nails it, you
losers exactly, so backwards we need to fix it.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
Donni Kansas, what's up? Man Covin and Rich?

Speaker 4 (26:12):
Hey, thanks thanks for having me on. I've got five boys.
For the four olders or athletes, the youngest one's an actor.
They're all competitive, they all they all want to be successful.
They're all successful just because the ones the actor he
wants to have, as the kids say, his flowers, he
wants to have his recognition. The thing that I find
interesting is two things. This lady that's making the comment

(26:35):
on whatever show, she's interested in having her viewpoints heard
by as many people as possible. She's not saying, hey,
I want to stay on this little show and be
a little part of this little show. She wants it
to be big. And this is a room full of
people whose egos, some of who can't be contained in
that room, who would die to be giving this award.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
So, dude, you're so right. Are you talking about a
round table show of you know, women on table show?
You don't think they all want to have huge ratings
like beat the view or something exactly. And again, you
know art subjective, Then why are they at an award show?
I don't get that. It's so contradictory and hypocritical. Back
to the phones and thanks man, I appreciate that call.

(27:15):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
And speaking of competition Cavino and the quote mamba mentality
that Matt wants to talk.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
About it, I don't have the mama mentality.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
I see it with the little kids. I just started
coaching t ball. I've been coaching my daughter for a
couple of years, but now I coaching my son. One
of the dads goes, You'll see real quick that the
minute one or two of the boys start picking something up.
They at five years old like, well, I can't let
little Justin do it if I can't do it, And
they get competitive at that age.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
And that's the best way to do it. And I
love that that mindset too. Well, if this guy could
do it, I could do it. That's how I got
into radio. I know.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
I went to the college radio station and there was
a guy in the radio Z eighty nine in Syracuse,
and I go, this is the guy in the radio. Well,
if he could do it better, we'll sign me up.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
I want to learn. You know what it's called to
the eye of the tiger. Remember Rocky had it, lost it,
got it back? Yeah, you gotta you gotta applaud that,
not like make fun of somebody because they haven't.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
You know how backwards thinking is. It's weenie mentality. Matt
in so Cal, you're all with C and R. What's ubudy.

Speaker 9 (28:21):
B?

Speaker 10 (28:22):
Natural content?

Speaker 11 (28:24):
Back by since here bs, I told that Danny g dude.

Speaker 10 (28:27):
The last three weeks, you guys have killed the dude
the super Bowl run.

Speaker 11 (28:31):
Thanks you guys. You guys are.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Filling in shows.

Speaker 11 (28:33):
You can't create natural content. I mean you guys, you
guys have.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Been you know why though, seriously, I'm being serious. I
have the tiger, Dude, that's corn. But we're in it
to win it. So when I hear a kid like
that talking like that, it gets me fired. I'll be like, yeah,
bring our hard hats to the pre show made real.
We're trying to win, man, and I think everybody's trying

(28:59):
to win. Don't be trying to shoot this guy down. So, Matt,
any any any final thoughts, Buddy, No, I mean, like you.

Speaker 11 (29:07):
Said to me, there was humility.

Speaker 10 (29:08):
There's humility within the pursuit. Like, yes, he he acknowledged
the greats. And if you talk to I mean, I've
been lucky enough to touch the pro ATHLETs and some
of them he played.

Speaker 11 (29:18):
With a guy like Kobe when he was younger, Like.

Speaker 10 (29:20):
There is humility within their pursuit, Like.

Speaker 11 (29:23):
These guys know what they're going after, but they.

Speaker 10 (29:25):
Acknowledged the great ones in front of them, like that's
part of the aumility and this and and Timothy did that.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
He acknowledged the current grades.

Speaker 10 (29:31):
But at the bottom line, to be that one percent,
you gotta go after it.

Speaker 11 (29:35):
You gotta compete, And I think that's right.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Doing you're talking about the mamba mentality and no matter
what industry you're in, Danny G. I know you know
the story is a big Kobe fan. You have a
tattoo for a got sakes, rest in peace, Kobe. One
of the best the story about how he went right
at Paul Gasol in the Olympics. It was like, Yo,
that's your boy. You ever hear Lebron and people tell
that story where it's like, like, no, he's not going

(29:57):
to He's like on the first play, I'm gonna knock
a cell ass. That was like to me, that was
elite competitive juices.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Right there, Ray.

Speaker 5 (30:07):
And Pedaluma had a loom. Yeah, it's right below Santa
Rosa in Northern California.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Yeah, guy Fieri's home home turf. What's up, buddy?

Speaker 4 (30:16):
What's up? Guys?

Speaker 12 (30:17):
A shout out Danny G.

Speaker 13 (30:19):
For Northern California local native. I was gonna say, you
know who's got the winning mentality is the dose they
are just taking name.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Did you did you email? Did you email your five
reasons to keep your job yet? Jesus man. You know
the controversial, But that's very funny. It is funny. We're
requiring that on our show. By the way, now, I
want an email from everyone five things you did last week?
Sam on my desk.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
I'll do that at eight pm while I'm still here.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
Yeah, otherwise you're fired. But you're not because I'll follow
it up with a just kidding email. You're just trying
to scare you. I love the Shallomey story. I like
him even more, and I think that anybody who's anyone
worked hard to get there because they had that mentality
didn't have by accident, No doubt. You're a hawk to
a girl, and she worked hard hocking in two A.

(31:15):
There's exceptions to the rule, but I mean, come on,
she howked into it all.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
She's helping fostering pets right now?

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Is she im prisoner or not? Whatever happened with that? No,
she's good. Let's got a damn buy for an update, dB,
what's going on? My friend?

Speaker 3 (31:27):
Guys?

Speaker 8 (31:27):
An end of an era in the WNBA expected, but
six time Olympic gold medalist, Diana Tarassi announced her retirement
from basketball forty two years of age. She spent at
twenty years of her WNBA career with the Phoenix Mercury,
making the announcement in Time magazine. One other basketball note
to pass along it's in the NBA and it's the
Lakers and Mavericks. Ten o'clock Eastern tim from La is

(31:50):
Luka Doncic faces his former team, Maps forward Anthony Davis
will not play in the game because of his adductor strain.
NBA insider Chris Haynes says the Lakers will show a
pregame video honoring Anthony Davis in his time with the Lakers.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
That's cool.

Speaker 8 (32:04):
Yeah, when you had a nice thing to do, I
kind of feel they had to do it because if
you didn't, it would be pretty glaring, but should be
a fun atmosphere tonight in downtown La. Chiefs GM Brett
Feach expects Stenna and Travis Kelce to return and play
in twenty twenty five. Head coach Andy Reid said today
that while they haven't officially heard from Kelsey, he told
Kelsey to take some time away after the Super Bowl

(32:25):
loss to the Eagles and feels Kelsey is doing that
right now. Browns GM Andrew Berry reiterated that the team
isn't interested in trading defensive end Miles Garrett, while Ravens
GM Eric da Costa addressed the sexual misconduct allegations made
against Justin Tucker.

Speaker 9 (32:39):
The allegations are serious, concerning the amount of allegations are
serious and concerning. I think we're fortunate that the league
is doing an investigation. Will wait as patiently as we
can for as much information as we can. It'll make
a decisions based on that.

Speaker 8 (32:54):
Elsewhere in the NFL, the Bills on wide receiver Khalil
Sekir to a four year extension. In this news out
of Indianapolis, Anthony Richardson is not being guaranteed the starting
quarterback job for the Colts entering the twenty twenty five season.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
He had been the starter his first two years.

Speaker 8 (33:07):
GM Chris Ballard said today that Richardson will be part
of an open competition.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
Guys, back to you.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
Hey, because life's a competition. Thank you, dB Dan Meyer.
Tonight Lakers MAVs. I'm not saying tickets are cheap.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
But they're affordable on a level of like what's affordable
in the NBA. Like all right, in two days from now,
the t Wolves are going to play the Lakers in
LA at crypto tickets high level one point fifty better
seats like four hundred tonight, higher level nosebleats two hundred

(33:44):
good seats like six hundred, so.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
It's not astronomical.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
So you know you'll see a packed house tonight, people
getting ready to see Luke and Lebron.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
In the return of AD So should be a fun
one tonight.

Speaker 5 (33:54):
Dude, LA's hyped on my way in. I was flipping
around from radio station to radio station. Aw, everybody at
least here in southern california's talking about and I know
the NBA world is ready for tonight's game.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
You don't think Luca is going to bring the fury
tonight like Tyson, He's gonna bring the fire. Yeah, we
can't remind everybody that he heard one of the greats.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
Well, it was one of the headlines Covino.

Speaker 5 (34:15):
We were sending it back and forth in our group
chat prior to the show, that he is fired up.
He has a new uh you know what lit underneath
him mm hmm. Ever since the trade, so you know,
working out that by injury, it seemed like he was
back at least against the Nuggets a little bit. So
let's see how his health remains to go here, you.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Know what, We'll talk about that more next again, we
got some shacked diesel trivia Travis Kelsey's in the news.
We have lots to get to on Cavino and Rich
life and the tire rack dot Com stude and if.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
You want a great Colin Cowherd level, Rich Davis analogy stars,
I got one and hustle with Luca Tonight, Lakers MAVs.
We'll get to that, and like you said, some Shack
Diesel trivia Kelsey, and then there was a lot of
fun Covino on.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
Wretch right here Fox Sports Radio CNR on FSR, Covino
and Rich live from the tyrack dot Com studio. Remember,
you can stream our show all the Fox Sports Radio
shows live twenty four to seven on the new and
improved iHeartRadio app look at You to search Fox Sports

(35:21):
Radio on the app to stream us live.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
And one of the newest features in the app is
that you could select Fox Sports Radio as one of
your presets.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
Preset. It's just like you've done on the old school radios.
Right Well, if you really love us, we'd be number
one on your preset. That's that's my rule. Personally, you
want to be my number one, all right? Uh At
Covino and Rich.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
If you want to chime in on any of this,
you know, let's take one last phone call from Steve
O in Stockton. We're just giving Timothy shallow May props
because wait, the Steve O. I don't know if is
that Steveh No way to Steve BO. That's staple is
junk to us though, that's steak.

Speaker 1 (35:55):
Hey guys me, Hey, what's up?

Speaker 3 (35:58):
Man?

Speaker 6 (35:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 12 (35:59):
What's hey? CNR Fox Sports News number one on my
pre set, Thank you the race. What I want to
say is, uh, there's a commercial I don't know I
anybody touched up by gator Rade. It came out about
a year and a half ago. It's am I a
bad person and it has uh, It has Lebron going
up in the air, It has a garnet in the sideline,

(36:21):
it has uh, Kobe doing his thing, Serena doing her thing. Hey,
it's in all of us, like some cool glugator rays.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
People like it's so odd that outside of sports like
we shy away from like this competitive vibe that.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
We all have. I think you need, you need, and
there's plenty of room for everybody to win. You know,
are people competitive, but the people that aren't trying aren't winning,
I promise you. Damn dating shows, I mean Catamaran Racing
got that. I'm enthlled.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
I'm so competitive.

Speaker 5 (36:52):
I want to point out, don't have Fox Sports or
Fox News as your number one pre said Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Yeah, Fox Sports News Radio.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
Maybe he thought I was Klay Travis lossible, but thank you, man,
maybe appreciate you. Maybe he thought Cavino was Glenn Beck
because he had that hairline.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Thank you, yes, thank you, Steve O. And real quick
before we move on shardor Sanders. We really haven't touched
on it, but you know, I heard the promo there before,
and to me, it's always interesting. I do think that
he should have been there just because, right, I just do.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
You're talking about the combine.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
He should have been at the combine just because. But
it's also funny at the same time to pretend like
we don't know how he throws, like we didn't watch
him for the past few years in college, like we
didn't watch him play, We don't know his skills. Set
to the play where we were so offended, like, man,
I had to see him throw there to really know.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
With an immense spotlight on him.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
By the way, Yeah, but in stupid drills, how about
you got actual footage of him playing like what gives
you more of an idea of how the guy plays
him actually playing he's stupid drills. The level of importance
that they put on it is ridiculous. The fact that
he wasn't there. Okay, I'll give you that, Like, you know,
you don't want to what do you think you're better
than me? I don't like that vibe of it, but

(38:07):
to pretend, like, man, we really need to see his
skill set. You've got plenty of footage, you know.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
I could see where people would say, what do you
think you're better than me? Like you know people that
back into their parking spots?

Speaker 1 (38:18):
Yeah, what do you think you're better than me? Yeah,
you're better than me? Of course you would sam you
back into your spots. Only since I moved to La,
I didn't do it, and I I swear like people.
People though they don't go away for summer vacation, they
actually summer in Montalk. Yeah, I summer in mon Talk.
I'm sorry you, what do you think you're better than me?
Somewhere in the Hampton's and I walk backwards, what are

(38:39):
you getting brunch? You think you're better than because you're
getting bunched brunch is legitimate you think you're better than me.
It was like breakfast food in the middle of there
is a vibe if he thinks he's better than you
because he didn't go. However, don't pretend like he had to,
because you know what he's capable of. However, I look
at it this way.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Some things are not required for all because we're not
all equal. We're equal in the eyes of like you
all want to be treated with respect and the same rights.
But on a football field, in a radio studio, in
a TV studio, in an office and a work you know,
in an oil patch, whatever the hell you do, not
everyone's equal.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
They're just not. Should Or Sanders could say, listen, if
we're having a big company meeting, is Dan Patrick there
all the time?

Speaker 2 (39:21):
No, because he's Dan Patrick? Noah was Colin cow hurt
at our you know, sales launcher. No, because he doesn't
have to be because I guess what, Hey, that's live.
That's what the people say. That's just how it is. Like,
don't why are we shocked? Like should A Sanders, you
like you said you've seen a skill set. He's thinking like,
you know, really Cleveland Browns or Titans or teams, you're

(39:41):
really going to make any decisions on him based on
what you saw by how he throws.

Speaker 5 (39:47):
He was also gonna throw at the pro day, and
and I was reading this morning that he said he's
just gonna focus on his interviews with teams.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
Yeah, I mean, like or no, I want you to
roll right and throw like we've come. You got plenty
of footage of that. If you really want the guy, yeah,
I mean, then you got to ask yourself, like how
bad do you want someone? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (40:08):
Someone once told me in our industry, I'm not saying
we're hot shots, but someone said, there's a time where
you go from having your resume to.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
A bio you don't need to you know, like working
on a bio. Yeah, there comes a point where you
don't need to be like, oh, they only show you
all my accolades, and it's like, yo, do you know
who I am or not? And should our sandsers?

Speaker 2 (40:27):
I get you what you're saying, only a collegiate athlete
not there yet, But I don't need to see this
guy rolling left and throwing ten yards across his body.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
You've seen it or not.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
I don't mind when players don't show I really I
don't care, all right, well, if.

Speaker 3 (40:38):
You have a rap sheet, that's the.

Speaker 1 (40:42):
Yeah. We got Shack Diesel Trivia next hour, giving away
prizes here on the Cavino and Rich Show. Plus we
still got to talk about Lebron and Luca tonight. Can't
wait more Coveno on Wretch coming up
