Speaker 1 (00:14):
Dot com, or stream us live every day on the
iHeartRadio app by searching the FSR. Don't you feel like
our kids get to do things that we would have
only dreamt of and they don't appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
I mean, yes, the answer is absolutely yes.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
I only bring this up it'll be real quick because
I do want to fight you about Juan Soto. But
I never mentioned yesterday that Sunday at Dodger Stadium, they
do a really cool thing where the kids get to
walk around the field, run the bases like It's a
really beautiful event for the kids. Little League, Ponyball, softball.
The kids are invited. You got to show up wait early,
like ten thirty eleven AM for the one pm game,
(00:57):
but you get to go on the field and I
see my kids and I'm like, guys, take this in.
Your dad would have dreamt of this when I was
a kid. Calling imagine being on the field at Yankee Stadium.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Or Shay Stadium in New York. Is a little boy,
I have dreams about that now as an adult.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Imagine stepping foot on Wrigley or walking past the green
Monster of Fenway. That's something you thought I could never
do that.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
You're right.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
My daughter, who's fifteen now in junior high, went on
an East Coast road trip with her classmates. Yeah, they
actually got to be on the field at Fenway and
inside the scoreboard. I'm like, you spoiled brats. We went nowhere.
I saw like Ben Franklin's bedroom or something. I went
(01:46):
to some miserable museum. When I was a kid, I
made a broom at some old wait you know where
they stay in character. Yeah, like some where Billy Madison went,
like some old town, Like we churned butter and we're
gonna make a room today.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
That was my field trip. We went to the Edison
Museum or something. That was the fun we had.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
You got to go to Fenway in DC and New
York City and you were there where.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
They changed the scoreboard. It's legendary field.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
Like these lunches. I tell you, who was that dang sapsquatch?
Speaker 2 (02:17):
That's where we went. I mean, turning his bus around
on your precious field trip.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
I'm done bitching and complaining. I don't I don't want
the show to be complain o and bitch. But I
will say, but I will say. I'll end it by
saying this. Our field trips were making brooms at old
timy times and like you said, like here's Thomas Jefferson's chair,
our kids are walking on the field at stadiums. I
joke with my wife. I know we live in southern California,
but my kids have been to Disney multiple times. I
(02:45):
went to Disney World for the first time when I
was like seventeen. Yeah, Disney World is like a fantasy thought,
like someday I'll go. Meanwhile, you grew up in La especially,
your kid's been there before they were out of diapers,
and you're right, Rich, just to make it though. Rich
and I have been working in sports for a minute,
and it took us to get a TV show on
(03:08):
the Mets Network in New York City, SNY. We had
our own TV show, Covino and Rich, Home of all
Things New York Sports, and that's the only way we
got on the field ever. And we were just there
like looking around. It's not like we do a first
pitch or anything cool. We didn't take a jog around
the outfield. We were just there and grateful and like
(03:30):
thankful these little nose pickers are there and they don't
even know how to wipe their own butts and they're
on the field. Talk about spoiled man. But you can
only be happy for him. I'm not mad at him.
It's just wild to see the difference. Well, we're done
sounding like Boomers and Karen's it's not it's just an observation.
But and I really do feel bad for any boomer
(03:51):
out there who thought they had a cool nickname.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Then you're so right. There's got to be a couple
out there, you know how when there's like something.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Like Michael Bolton was a cool name until no talent
as clown came and ruined it. I feel that way
when there's like some serial killer and you know there's
other people with that name.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Oh yeah, suck man, Mike Myers had to be Mike Myers.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Michael right. The comedian was like, why.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
How do you think us Sooners fans feel they can't
say Boomer sooner right? Because it's not cool?
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Now, I was kidding Boomers there's a couple out there,
I will say, with a guy he's Boomer and his
wife his Karen, and they hate life.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
The story fizzled down, but it really didn't go away.
But that kid, Carmelo Anthony, the killer, the track star,
not the basketball player. If I was actual Carmelo Anthony,
I'd be like, yo, has nothing to do with me.
Just to make it clear, But that was a big
story from the middle name like most murderers, Like yeah, yeah,
(04:51):
I mean, that was an unfortunate story. But again, yeah,
that could happen to anybody. Unfortunately it's a boomer whose
name is sort of ruined.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Well, you're ready to be ready to put your duke's up?
Uh sure?
Speaker 1 (05:01):
And I say that because I know where you're headed
with this one Soto thing, because I just saw the
headline on the Daily News.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
To a growing story. Bro what one slow mo. Wow,
it's getting bad. You know what.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
It's turning into like a snowball effect. Right, It's just
one of those things that people are starting to pile onto.
But I think wan So Soto, so So Wan Soto
is giving us plenty of ammunition. That's the problem here.
But I think we're just piling on this story because
it's a juicy one. When you're paid seven hundred and
(05:41):
sixty five million dollars, there's an expectation. And the least
you could do is that dance by Van McCoy. The
least you could do is hustle. Dude's come on, hussle.
Do I need to explain to you what it is?
Can I tell you something?
Speaker 2 (06:00):
When I was.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Eight years old, I played in the Soccer League Union
Soccer League Union, New Jersey, right.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
I was on the rockets.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Yeah, a little kid regular Ronaldo over here, and I
remember like, you know, Mosyan after the ball, I'll never
forget that, oh Cavino MESSI Yeah, but I was like Mosyan.
And I remember my mom screaming the top of her
lungs because she's a crazy to eat Mexican woman.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Steven Hussle, Hussle.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
I was so little, I didn't know what the word meant.
I'm like, I started dancing. I started dancing. I was like,
I knew the song, that's all. I didn't know what
the word meant. But all the parents were yelling at me.
My mom just kept screaming this word I knew. I
think I knew aggressive. I didn't know hustle. But if
I didn't know, maybe there's a maybe Soto needs to
be explained. You would think that comes naturally. It costs nothing.
(06:53):
It's the least he could do, and he's getting paid
plentiful to run out a ball that goes off the wall.
We're watching the replay now as we speak, right off
of Fenway where my little nose pick and spoiled daughter
was off the wall. He's sitting there watching it. What
is going on? You don't need to be a baseball
(07:14):
expert to have two eyeballs to notice the body language.
The body language is off now and it shouldn't be.
I don't this one thing that should be on pars.
Not even the batting average or lack of production, is
the body language.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
I don't disagree. Okay, so how is it not a story?
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Then?
Speaker 1 (07:35):
I don't disagree that one Soto has had a one
Soso start as a New York man.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
I'm a big Mets fan, the biggest Mets fan you know, yep.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
But to judge a man based on sixty days into
a fifteen year contract would be like starting a new
job and on your first week being like man, I
don't know if I like this place. The coffee machine
doesn't have the coffee brew. I like, man, I gotta
get accustomed to this commute. You're getting paid that much money.
Youre getting paid to set the tone. I know, and
(08:05):
I think we're gonna hit June, July, August. There's gonna
come a time where Juan Soto, Oh was that. I'm
taking a picture of this cure of CBS Sports. I
have a graphic of wat.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
I'm gonna miss it.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
I think I got it because where he was last
year with the Yankees and where he was or where
he is now with the Mets night in Day this time.
Through forty seven games with the Yankees three seventeen, he's
two forty six now eleven home runs last year, eight
home runs this year, thirty seven RBIs last year, twenty
this year, slugging five sixty one to four thirty nine.
(08:45):
Not too shabby as far as slugging and on base percentage.
But again, it's it's the hustle. It's the intangibles that
he should be leaning into. If he's trying to find
a swing or even his confidence. The least he could
do is lead by example with a positive attitude, not
(09:07):
this whole hum attitude of yeah, uh so I play hard.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
No he's not. I would see he's as a.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Mets fan, I'm not going to overreact like the local
New York media and the national media on podcasting TV
right now, overreact like when you're the highest paid player
in sports almost seven sixty five. That's that's a pretty
large number, highest paid paid player in baseball. It's not overreacting.
That's the thing I will. I will say when Wan
(09:37):
Soto is ripping and he has a month in June
or July where he's doing the Sodo shuffle in the batters,
yeah games, and everyone's saying, there he is, there's the
Sodo we know is is he waiting to turn it on? Sometimes,
you know, say the fight's getting late early, you were
(09:58):
into the you know, before you know it, you're eighty
games in, You're like, where's the shuffle. I think part
of the reason why I'll give you this, I think
part of the reason why it's a news story now
because two things lined up. Three things part of me. One,
they lost two out of three against the Crosstown Yankees,
and that was symbolic of oh they're both really good
(10:19):
this year. But ooh, the Yankees got the best of
them in the first series, right.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
But there was also speculation number two Okay, in that series.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
Yes, he did show a big lack of hustle and
his body language was not of the almost cocky fun
to watch, like nodding at the pitcher doing that.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Like I said, the.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Sodo shuffle, all that was not existing. So body language
Mets lost. And simultaneously, take a look at the standings.
The Phillies now have the best record in baseball. So
because the Phillies are so hot, they're now a half
a game ahead of the Mets.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
So and lack of hustle did I say?
Speaker 1 (10:54):
I said, the minute the Mets are no longer cruising
in first place, all eyes on Sodo and now you're
going to see people say, well the Phillies. Where I
do agree with Rich, and I want to make this clear,
Where I do agree with Rich is that Sodo will
turn it on because he's too good. Not too he's
just too good unless unless, of course, this pressure is
(11:16):
too big for him, which I don't believe because he's
a big game type of player. I think he will
turn it around off the air on our Patreon you
were saying, how yeah, Francisco Lindor had a slow.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Start his first year too. Think of that, guys, I
get it.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Think of the guys on your team, Danny G put
your thinking cap on as a Raiders.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Fan, a Lakers fan, a Dodger fan.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Cap as a Raiders logo. Danny's got a Travis Matthew
thinking cap on for.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
Danny.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Think of a player, and my example would be Francisco
Lindor when the Mets acquired him from Cleveland.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
It's a great example.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
When he was on the Indians now the Guardians, he
was a big game, playoff player. Lindor was a big
Mets signing.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
You know.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
His first year he had twenty home runs, him out
at two thirty and Met fans were like, Yo, Lindor.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Stinks, we hate him, Get him out of here. Now.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
The last couple of years, he's an MVP candidate, second
only to Otani in the NL. The Mets want to
make him captain, the unofficial captain of the team for sure.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Let's you know, let's not overreact.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
I do agree, Rich, yeah, but it's not an over
reaction because of what he's paid, in who he is
and what's expected. And again we're almost fifty games into
the season, dude, So I don't think it's a no reaction.
I just do believe he will turn it around. I
don't like his attitude.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
And then when he's called out you're forgetting this part
of the story, he defends it and it's like, what
do you think we're done?
Speaker 2 (12:41):
We can see it.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
And I hate to agree with Danny G's boy because
I rarely do. I love Ben Maller's show, and I
love Ben Maller as a broadcaster, but I don't always
agree with what he's talking about. I find him to
be fun and funny and entertaining, good broadcaster. Week ass takes. Oh,
I love Ben Mallard and I'm not saying that for
the record. Rich to that pull that clip for him, Danny,
(13:03):
give that to him. Ben Mallard, great guy, weak ass ticks,
but he's right.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
I went with him every weekend on the microphones.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Well do you three or disagree When a big league
manager addresses a player publicly? You know it didn't happen overnight.
It had to be going on for a month or two.
How to be going on for a minute? It has
to be something that a manager has been aware of.
It has to be an issue because they're always going
to defend their players. This is managerial manager one O one.
(13:37):
So when Carlos Mendoza, who teaches that classic class, Freddy
Blasti or Jimmy Hart, mister Fuji, Bobby the brainheen and
manager is one A one. Tony Russa teaches it. But
Carlos Mendoza, when asked about hustle, said, look, he has
to address it. And if you missed it, take a listen.
Speaker 5 (13:56):
He thought he had it, you know, with a win
and all that, and in this ballpark or anywhere, but
in particular in this one with that wall right there,
you got to get out of the box.
Speaker 6 (14:04):
So yeah, we'll that, okay, Hello, Hello, we'll discuss hold on, No,
he says he wasn't getting out of the box any manager.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
If that was a first time thing, a one time thing,
not a thing at all. Ah, you know he always
puts his heart into it.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
That was a moment. Whatever.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
We don't worry about Juan Soto, you know he's a professional.
Can I give you issue, dude, Can I give you
the one if Carlos, if it wasn't an issue, he
would have squashed it.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
Carlo has got an issue, and then Soto.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Has the nerve hold on. I gotta give you up
the follow up, Sodo has the nerve to defend it.
We all saw him not getting out of the box
and Fenway.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
Best couple of nights. You've had a couple of plays
where you were slow getting out of the box.
Speaker 6 (14:47):
So that's something you have to.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Be more aware of. No, I think bank holstle very hard.
If you see it today, you.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
Can tell, he says, no, hustling pretty hard. If you
saw it today, you could tell.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
I think what you're so what you've seen right, And
I'm gonna I'll be Wan Soto's defender. Yo one, I'm
your boy, Rich Davis, remember this when you got hot
and everyone's on your juevos. I'm the guy that got
your back when you were when things are down to
me Wan Soto, Yeah, there were two plays that are
so terribly clear. He hit a hard shot to the
(15:21):
second baseman le Mayhew and the Yankees, and he jogged
down to first when if Lea mayhewe misplays that a
little bit.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
You're like, ooh, bad luck.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
And he showed voted on what he thought was the
ball that got over the Green Monster, and it didn't,
and then he had a steal second to almost mentally
make up for it. And as Gary Cohen, the Mets announcer, said,
he stole second. You know why, Keith, because he knows
he should have been there, right. I think Wan Soto,
we're looking at a couple of plays where he's frustrated.
He's frustrated. I don't think he's lacking hustle. I think
(15:52):
he's frustrated that it's not clicking yet. And he knows
because I said, other than Aaron Judge, who is, as
you said, Herman Monster and baseball pants. By the way,
do you know the reference when I say that, Yeah,
do you remember the episode where Herman Munster played baseball
and then he would.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Hit the ball it just launch out and explode.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Yeah, other than Aaron Judge who looks like Herman Monster.
Juan Soto leads the league in exit velocity, which means
he's putting good wood on the ball. As they say,
he's getting good contact. It just he's hitting it at people,
not hitting the gaps. Yeah, but dude, so the least
he could do until he finds his stroke is hustle.
I think there's a lot of frustration and he will
(16:32):
turn around. But I do I do think that this
is the downfall of being the highest paid player it is,
and that pressure is getting bigger and bigger, and I
think we're experiencing a snowball effect of people piling on.
Ben Maller also pointed out something that I noticed too.
The only time I saw him smile was when he was,
(16:52):
as Ben Maller said, playing slap aass or grab ass
with Aaron Boone and Judge and his former Yankee teammates
when he was in the Bronx. Where has that attitude
been with the Mets? I know, what's a lot all
they're doing now, boneheads? Like you were doing these side
by side, they're doing the side by side like look
at them, of course. And he's speaking of doing a
(17:13):
handshake with Aaron Judge and they're like bro hugging, grabbing
each other's butts. And then it's like him and Lindor
they're like chicken hands like strangers. I get it, Pilon
all you want, but I have one message to everyone,
So alone leave Okay, Rich is saying leave alone. I
guess what are you team? Leave Sodo alone? Or hey,
(17:33):
you're getting paid seven hundred and sixty five million dollars, dude,
you better deliver now. I'm telling you right now, Popleton
didn't pile on Francisco Lindor because he wasn't the highest
paid player in baseball? Can I tell you, Lindor? And
remember when the Mets had Hobby Bias for a second,
they did that thumbs down thing and the fans like,
get these guys out of here. Yeah, listen, man, people rebound.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
I agree with you on that. I'll finish by.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Saying he's too good, not too I'll always in Frevor
agree with you on that. I'd be very surprised if
he didn't turn it around. I'm gonna finish by saying this,
but right now, this is the facts. DraftKings pick six. Well,
I can't get her codecause then we got to do
the whole disclaimer and everything.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
But let me just say this. I've been playing the
DraftKings pick six.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
I'm gonna get lucky tonight because here's two guys that
are going to hit a bomb tonight. Go ahead, daft punk,
lets hear it. Wan Soto Yeah, and Aaron Judge tonight.
Aaron Judge hasn't hit a home run in days, He's
due Herman Monster's on fire, and I think Guan Soto
yanks one down the right field, short, short right field
(18:37):
at Fenway. So I'm going I'm gonna try to think
of a third guy to put in that mix. But
as of right now, I feel like those prop bets
Soto and Judge home runs tonight. Maybe throw Bryce Harper
in there too, One last one, last little dino nugget
to think about before we get some feedback going eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. What a selfish attitude for
(18:58):
a superstar A half. I want to talk a little
Brett Favre and Bill Belichick and what do they have
in common?
Speaker 2 (19:07):
Wow?
Speaker 5 (19:08):
What's up the baking guys? There is some Bill Belichick news.
If we're on the same same train. New York Deaily name.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Boat, what do we got?
Speaker 5 (19:18):
New York Daily News is saying that Jordan hunts Hudsons
total at least one person, that she is engaged. That
I could just be rumor. Ll see, she's really gonna
be calling the shots now, damn, But nothing official as
of yet.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
I was gonna say tickets are sold out for UNC football.
Did you see that? Wow? The quickest or whatever.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
I don't know if they sell out every year, but uh,
ticket sales through the roof just to get a glimpse
of Bill and perhaps Jordan on the sideline doing something.
Speaker 5 (19:52):
Well, then it's then. It's worked so far for the
tar Heels. We'll see if it works on the field.
The NFL NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announcing today that the
owners did approve the move that would allow their players
to play in the Summer Olympics in twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Eight players.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
We think it's a tremendous opportunity for them to represent
their country, to compete for a gold medal, which is
a pinnacle of global sports.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
Has anyone watched any episode of Bad Thoughts with Toms Agora?
Speaker 7 (20:23):
Now watch the trailer and it was intriguing. Me and
my wife looked at each other, We're like, that looks
kind of cool.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
It is the Danny.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Watch episode one with your wife and please report back tomorrow.
It is the dirtiest, most sexual, filthy like he is
pushing every envelope that's ever been pushed.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Yeah, but Rich told me he didn't like it so rich.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
You're the biggest culprit of this taste like booty taste it.
It's like, no thanks, you just told me it sucks.
You know, hey, man, this smells bad. Here take a sniff.
No thanks, Hey, is this milk bed? I'll take your
word for it, but he told.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Me it sucked. Why do you pass it on? You
do have the Brett Favre documentary to watch.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
That is to watch tonight, and thank you for the
transition transition Jones, because.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
If you do watch me beginning of that.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Honestly, I do want to know what you think. Bad
thoughts Tom Sigura, it gets weird, but you know it
als will get weird tonight. That isn't a sizzling endorsement.
I have other things to do, like Brett Farv.
Speaker 7 (21:18):
And I actually watched the Farv documentary right before work,
and you guys are gonna love it.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
It is really good. You know what I didn't know.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
I mean, we knew the story from a personal firsthand experience.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (21:31):
I was gonna say, you guys are involved in the
story and we know a lot about it.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
But what I didn't know is that it was part
of the Untold series on Netflix.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
Now you thought you thought it was a standard I
thought it was a standalone Brett Farv documentary. But I
loved those Untold documentaries and part of that series. So yeah,
the Brett Farv documentary debut today is titled Untold The
Fall of Farv.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
And of course we all know Brett Farb is a
great quarterback.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
He did great things on the field, but off the
field it's sort of it's sort of like he did
a lot of shady things and questionable things and yet
got away with it sort of unscathed until now. And
we're gonna talk about people whose image change for the
worse or maybe the better. But Rich said he has
(22:23):
a number one answer.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
I do. I do it, so it's not Belichick.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
But first we got to tell you guys about the
Tiraq play of the day. The Marlins walked it off
against the Cubbies yesterday and the two one I want
to rip tell the first baseline that's in pro bay
said this could win it.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
It's rolling all the way to the wall hill and
to tie it, so no high in to win it.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
And it's a walk off.
Speaker 5 (22:51):
Two run bubble for Jesus Sanches Man, the Marlins Magic
continues in Miami.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Jesus.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
Actually it was Hey Sus Sanchez And that's courtesy of
Fox Sports nine forty wins w I n Z Marlins
Radio Network, and that's our tire ract.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Play of the day.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Now, in this documentary that we're all probably gonna watch,
you learn that Brett Favre's sort of a piece of garbage,
from being terrible to women to you know, allegedly tampering
with money of poor people two things.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
Not allegedly he took money.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
I mean two for two, I mean talk about trash behavior,
became part of the largest case of public fraud and
state history in Mississippi. So tied to fraud and tied
to being a perv. Way to go, Brett Favre and
your acting was terrible and something about merit and he
wears wranglers. Hello, Hey, god's zero for four. Yeah, So
(23:51):
Brett Farv went from beloved quarterback to wow, uh, trying
to find redemption because everyone hates the guy now, so
went from lovable quarterback to piece of trash, especially after today,
like because everybody's known the story but has sort of
ignored the story. But now it's right there in your
face on Netflix, and Danny g just said he saw it,
(24:13):
So you're gonna you're gonna leave feeling like yeah, man
buckalop Buckle Buttercup.
Speaker 7 (24:18):
Not to spoil anything, but for this conversation Stgier, jen
Sturger says in it, even after watching this documentary, some
people will still ignore all of this because he was
a football guy.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Of course they will, right.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
And the crazy part of that side of the story
involving jen Sturger, who E've known personally for years, Yeah,
is that if it happened now, she would have been
the victim, but back then she was not viewed as
the victim at all. If anything, rich you said, it
sort of ruined her reputation. It ruined her reputation and
(24:51):
you know far really you know, fed up her path.
Put it in perspective, if any other superstar today did that,
oh for get about it. Image, if Patrick Mahomes did that,
if anyone else did that.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
Yeah, no way.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Fact that she never met Brett Favre is something we learned.
I knew that, you knew that, but there's a lot
so you'll find out. He's a real piece of trash.
And we learned something about Belichick today, not making him
trash at all. But Belichick, your image may have changed,
So we'll get to that. And I still have the
number one answer of image changers in the world of sports,
(25:27):
whose image has changed the most in your mind when
it comes to sports and entertainment Because Brett farv our.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Producer Spot, our associate producer, our video producer, Spot.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
He has changed a lot.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Yeah, because when we first met him, richel Rich always
says that he had like a Jonah Hill vibe about him.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
I used to say, if you met Spot and you
didn't immediately love him, something.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
Was wrong with Now Spot walks around with a tank topic,
he's in Adonis.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Now it's like, if you like Spot, I'm curious why.
I'm kidding, right, Not the same guy. That's evolution, baby,
Look you can't stay the same. And I gotta say,
look respectfully when it comes to Bill Belichick, I'm not
man at the guy. I don't care at all. He's
just dating a young hotty. But it is the story.
(26:17):
I can't ignore the story. Note amped it up the
interview where she's like, we're not talking about that. Damn.
That to me was the This was like a little
flame in a forest. That interview clip to me poured
a tub of guests Arlina on it. It really did
hold on, though, Rich, I don't want to sound like
a double talking hypocrite. See double talking Davis. Yeah, like
(26:38):
channerbox Davis. I don't want to double talk like me. Okay,
if it was my daughter and she was twenty four
year old dating a seventy four old, yeah, you better
believe I would care. But no, that's me problema. You
know this is what makes them happy, for sure. But
I mean we'd be doing a disservice to not acknowledge
the story. It's a story, and not only is it
(27:03):
a hot story, but the story grows. Did you hear
the other story today?
Speaker 2 (27:07):
I did that.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
There's there's layers that Brett Farv got a new boat. No,
not Brett Farv, I mean Bill Belichick got a new Well,
Brett Farb's trying to get a new boat so he
could just sell away and never be seen again. Mississippi
paid for a new boat. He got a new boat
based off he stole the people's money. Buyer insinuated that
there is a rumor of Belichick being engaged. Yeah, and hey,
(27:33):
I wish him all the best. You still the headline
with the boat, right. The boat is the other side
of the story, not far Belichick where he got a
new paint job on his boat go to Maco and
I believe he used to read like eight rings or something, right,
that was the name of the boat, eight rings something
like that, And now it's repainted as one plus eight rings.
(27:57):
So where's the other ring? That adds fuel to the
engagement fire. And of course you wished them all the best.
Who really gives a diddley squat right about their relationship?
But it is front and center, and you have changed
or maybe have made some sort of different assessment, because
here's a leader of men, the most alpha men in
all the land, and it appears he's being bossed around
(28:20):
by a young woman, which is odd to see. Is
that the facts? Is that the case? Maybe that's what
he likes. We don't know, but that's what we're led
to believe. But you definitely have a different image of
the guy. You would have never pictured Bill Belichick the
type of guy to be hanging around a twenty four
year old woman. So his image has changed. My image change.
When he was doing yoga moves with her on the beach,
and I was like, wow, he's up there. He was
(28:42):
doing like the fly like Superman that you do with
your kid, right right. And from that moment on, I'm like,
you know what, I don't hate him, you know. To me,
my stance all along has been Bill Belichick is a
guy that dedicated fifty years of his life to football,
and now that he's like seventy, he has a single
guy four seventy four.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
If Bill belichicks the type of guy that's.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
Like, you know what, I'm gonna tap some young ass
before it's all over, God bless him.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
I'm not.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
I'm not that girl's father. But still, and you know,
you don't look at him the same way I don't.
And that's what we're talking about. So it's not from
a judgy place. We're just telling you the story as
it is, and we'll keep you posted on the rumors.
And then, of course, the other story today involves Brett
farre We all knew the story, we all knew the
(29:32):
shady sign of Brett Farv, but no one really ever
talked about it. It's like he got what coverage as
you think. It's like he got by unscathed because he
was such a hero on the field, that the fact
that he was a piece of trash with women and
Jen Sturger among others in that Jets organization, and the
fact that you know, there was you know, the money
in Mississippi like Brett Farv. His true colors are being
(29:54):
shown today and I think moving forward, everyone's gonna just
hate it. For well, if you just joined us again,
we bring him up specifically because after today you're gonna
know the untold story. The fall a far debuted on
Netflix and people are buzzing about it, like damn, Danny
G came in today and Danny G knew the stories,
but hearing it firsthand on this documentary, you're like, yo, man,
(30:16):
he was a piece of dru What did you say?
Speaker 2 (30:18):
I don't want to misquote you.
Speaker 7 (30:20):
I just think that half the people are still going
to ignore this though.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Wow, yeah, that's what it is. But you said it was legit,
like it did not make it didn't.
Speaker 7 (30:30):
Go Yeah, like when when Sturgis was talking, I believed her. Yeah,
you know, and I don't think there's any reason anybody
probably shouldn't with the story and the facts, like she
has proof of what happened through text messages, emails, everything else.
And then there were witnesses to her side of things.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
Including people in this room, right, and then so I
mean like facts. But then the second.
Speaker 7 (30:52):
The second half of the doc though with the money
it's for the underserved. The money is supposed to go
to the underprivileged in that state, and so that probably
will bother you even more.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Yeah, a welfare fraud scheme that he was a part of.
And you learn all about that when you go home
later tonight, you're probably gonna have a different opinion of
Brett Farr. Your friends are gonna be talking about it.
But Rich says, despite these two stories that are big
in front and center today, there's still a number one
image change in the world of sports. It's undeniable. And
(31:25):
you know, no matter what happens, no matter what athlete
goes heal or gets arrested or does something dumb or anything,
nothing will ever trump No one will ever trump the
perception well of O. J.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Simpson or Rental James. And I still think, yeah, that
is the number one. It will always be the number.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
I mean, we're talking about a guy that was the
most loved player broadcaster, as they say in many of
the documentaries, He was an African American man that racist
white guys liked. Like he crossed every demographic, age, sex, race, everything.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
People loved O J. Simpson. He was a naked gun.
He was broadcasting it to people.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
My girlfriend, who's slightly younger than me, when I tried
to explain to her the importance and significance of O. J. Simpson,
I always have to say, like, imagine Shaquille O'Neal or
Strahan or Michael Strahan like but love, but even more
love than them, arguably, you know, imagine they went on
a murder spring. When you say younger girlfriend, Jordan like,
(32:26):
no Belichick r no Belichick. Okay, yeah I have to
no Belichick. You just said murder spree.
Speaker 7 (32:31):
So Aaron Hernandez would have to be way up there
on the list because it's multiple kills.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
Yeah, but he was always known as a bit of
a weirdo as but we all heard that he had
cleaned up his act.
Speaker 7 (32:45):
It was the Belichick and Patriots way and the effect
of their organization, and so we thought he was like
one of those great stories.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
And as a.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
Casual fan, you didn't know the backstory. You just knew
this dude was tearing it up. He was a great
tight end and all of a sudden he killed I don't,
I don't. I don't discount your answer. It's in the top,
it's it's on the list. Out of that, I just
think that Aaron Hernandez was always like, yo, that guy's
a little rough around.
Speaker 7 (33:09):
Because of where he was from and his friends and
all that. But what my point, Rich was, we were
all told that this was this great American story about
how he got a second chance and he totally cleaned
up his life.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
Yeah, not the case.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
And you know, it doesn't have to be all negative,
right because I could throw Tom Brady into that conversation.
I think that after his retirement, I have a totally
different understanding of who Tom Brady is and what he's about.
And he became a hell of a lot more likable
to me after retirement, once he got away from the
whole Patriot's way, and and again we started to see
(33:44):
a different side of the guy. Image shift completely because
I thought he was like a stiff, boring sort of
vanilla guy, really funny, personable dude.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
So it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
Yeah, So image changes in the world of sports and entertainment.
Who did you go from loving to hating to loving?
I just think after you watch this far of documentary,
if they were still a party, that's like, yeah, man,
hero Brett farm I think you're gonna think differently. And
I don't judge Belichick, but to say that, it's not
a different impression than the hard nose My life is football. Now,
(34:17):
when you're you're seeing him being all cutesy with his
twenty something your old girlfriend, you may not be offended.
I'm not offended, but I do look at him differently,
saying like, in my mind, I thought he only cared
about football. Now I'm like, oh, he cares about booty. Yeah,
I know, it's definitely different. Look yeah, Like, I think
that's the funny part sports is ignoring because sports doesn't.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
Like to you know, you know what, your sexual stuff.
But let's be honest.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Sports people don't like to dive into the sexual part
of things.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Is it's a old taboo.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
But why are we ignoring the fact that there's a
reason you get with a hot young woman when you're
a powerful older man. If you don't think sex is
a motivator, do you think they're hanging out.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
Because she's cool. We have a lot in common. Do
you think big when we share a love of art? No,
what do you think about the Vietnam War? Bill Belichick?
Speaker 1 (35:05):
Bill Belichick, He's grabbing a hold of some young hot
bod that he probably thought he would never do again.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Why are we pretending that's not the real part of this?
Speaker 1 (35:16):
And the other weird part about it is not only
do we look at him different, You don't think it's
young players look at him in a different way. Probably
both Yeah, like, oh man, he well, you know what
he's into, and that's not the kind of look you
want for a guy in a leadership position.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
It's always kind of glorified it though, Look.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
At yeah crisis buying a sports car.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
It's weird.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
And you know what, though, if he wins them, it's
all forgiven and it's all good. So that cures and
fixes everything. I'll Brett Farve theok how long we ignored
the Brett farvting because he's a superstar, So image shift
the ruse.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
Let's get back to it. Uh, let's go to Josh
and Ohio and then we'll go around the room.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Here, what's up, Josh, Hey, guys, mid mid Way, I
actually changed my answer.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
Originally I was gonna go with Vince McMahon, but he
inspired me to go.
Speaker 5 (36:05):
From positive to negative back to positive.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
And that's Michael Vick. We started out, we loved him
as a college quarterback. The pitbull thing happened, and now
he's back to being a commentator. So he's changed his
image from positive.
Speaker 7 (36:19):
To negative back to positive.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
And I think he needs a lot of flowers for.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
That, speaking of And I think that's a great answer.
Isn't he in this documentary contributor? Yeah, he's part of
this Brett Favre documentary because he's all over the trailer.
Michael Vick was hated more for messing with animals than
people are for murdering humans. There are people that are
like I will never forgive my details of that story
are awful, but I know I totally good for him.
(36:47):
The simple fact is if he was quote rehabilitated and
now fights for animal rights and do stuff and he's
a positive force totally, then what a great turnaround. And
that's a great answer. It is a great answer because
you saw all different sides of it.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
What did Josh say? His original answer was Vince, That's
a great one.
Speaker 1 (37:04):
Because Vince mcgraham was a man of business genius that
took wrestling from sweaty you know, Harry guys grappling to
a billion dollar sports entertainment world. And then you find out,
oh man, he's into weird stuff.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Vince.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
Here, here's the tough part that and why I think
the Michael Vick answer is magnificent. Nobody here thinks that
guy seems like he could be a murderer, right like,
like so when you're talking about like image and the
OJ thing, yeah, like I just don't think that like
you can because nobody would think that, Like if it
(37:41):
was like, oh, this guy went and slept with a
bunch of different women or whatever, like, oh, it didn't
seem seem like he.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
Was a fan.
Speaker 5 (37:47):
But when you get to the murder part of it,
I don't think anybody could see that like at all,
Like it's I think I think it's more of an
extreme and that's what makes the VIC so good and
what I think that the like my recommendation was type
Woods four of loved for everything that we thought that
he was not knowing who they are behind the scenes,
(38:09):
and then has the scandal with all of the different
women and then comes back and is reloved again as
he wins in the forties and is then.
Speaker 2 (38:19):
Looked at as a dad, you know, of his two kids.
Speaker 5 (38:22):
Like a really great answer to I just think what
you'd have like a murder or the Hernandez situation, same thing,
and how he ultimately you know.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
Yeah, murder, shocking animal cruelty though, that's really what it
comes down to. You're like, man, yeah, yeah, that's the
part where and then Tiger Woods.
Speaker 2 (38:39):
You know what I always picture?
Speaker 3 (38:40):
Do you guys remember the SNL bit where Tim Meadows
played like a goofy Tiger Woods.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
Can you remember that Tim Meadows?
Speaker 1 (38:46):
He's like, you know, I mean, no goofy because Tiger
was like a real goofball, all shucks kind of guy.
When you heard these stories about what a womanizer he was,
You're like, what Tiger Wood. Listen, I'm not trying to
defend Tiger Woods, but and again, he's beloved.
Speaker 2 (39:01):
I look at Tiger Woods and Bill Belichick.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
I'm not saying the same, but when you're so dedicated
to something the way Tiger Woods was so disciplined with golf,
the way Bill Belichick dedicated.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
Fifty years to you know, I'm going to win at every.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Level, football assistant coach, coach, most Super Bowl rings. I
think as a party that forgets men's downfall so many
times is women. And like, it wasn't shocking to me
that Tiger Woods mixed in with emotional championships and injuries
in life. You don't think Tiger Woods, like every other man,
had a soft spot for a good looking woman. It
(39:35):
sounds ridiculous and so juvenile, but look at politics, look
at sports, so many downfalls revolve around women.
Speaker 5 (39:43):
Sure it was the extent of what Tiger was doing
as well, with so many different women at different.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
Times and counts eighteen eighteen holes of golf, not eighteen
I forget.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
I think it was.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
I think he was man, I think he was, But
you're right, Dan, and then totally reinvented himself again. So
it's sort of on that Michael Vick era of we
saw how the image changed twice.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
Or three times.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
What I mean again, we forget that when with great
power and success and money, a man could very well
fall into a world of women that may not be
there for the right reasons. And trust me, Tiger Woods,
when you look back now, you're like, dude, since he
was a little boy golfing success greatest of all time.
(40:36):
Injuries take place, like everything has the equation to fall,
and women is a great reason. Yeah, so let's say
hi to Mark and the Cus have some dinosaur barbecue.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
What's up buddy? Hey Mark? We got Mark? There we
go Mark. Hey, buddy, buddy, what's up? Hey? How you doing?
What's up about?
Speaker 1 (41:01):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (41:02):
Tiger Wood? Tiger Woods was great. I didn't even think
of him, But the one I was.
Speaker 5 (41:05):
Was Ryan Leaf. I mean that's that pales in comparison.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
To Tiger But yeah, Ryan Leaf was one of those
guys that he also self admittedly had, you know, his demons,
but what a great guy he is every time we
see him, and he's always been cool with us. So
Ryan Leaf is a guy that high hopes ended up
in prison. Right now, we see Ryan Leaf at sports events,
the malls media rows. Ryan Leaf is the first guy
(41:31):
to stop and have a great conversation with a really
good guy. Health a big priority, Like he's fit and
looks great. So yeah, he's definitely turned it around. Uh,
dellaway hair, what's some Jimmy?
Speaker 2 (41:43):
Hey? Adrian Peterston?
Speaker 1 (41:46):
Yeah, I mean ap with the hull Remember the switch
and hitting hitting the kid, right, that was the thing, Like.
Speaker 2 (41:51):
That was a big moment. Yeah, that was a big
debate his son.
Speaker 4 (41:55):
Yeah, and now he's having he's in some serious financial
deep waters.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
And the story of you know, how to discipline your
own kids recently too, what was common for certain culture
is not common for everybody. It opened up a lot
of eyes and yeah, he's he's one of those that
deal with that.
Speaker 5 (42:12):
What about I think Alex Rodriguez is quite the turnaround? Yeah,
what about Roger Clemens?
Speaker 2 (42:20):
Well that's a good one. You're kind of an under
the radar.
Speaker 5 (42:23):
And the reason I bring it up is here's a
guy when you think of back when we were growing up,
I mean you would think that he would just be
a legendary Red Sox player, right, And so then he
goes place for the Yankees and the and the Blue
Jays and Astros and yell those teams, and then then
with the you know, ped scandal, and now like when
(42:44):
you're looking back at like those eight like, it's.
Speaker 2 (42:47):
Just like, yeah, whatever, it wasn't rocket Roger. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
You know what's crazy about that too, Dan is how Yeah,
he won Cy Young's with a lot of those teams.
And the Yankees even turn their back on the guy,
and you never saw him in any highlight videos until
recently he was brought to spring training or whatever. But
that's the first we saw him. I think even this
year was the first we saw him there. So as
a guy who you believed was all about baseball and
(43:12):
all about the Red Sox, like you said, ended up
being viewed as as not the guy we remembered for sure.
Rest in peace. George went seventy six years old. Norm
from Cheers died peacefully in his sleep. That's the update
(43:35):
there by the way, just to put in perspective, you
know how we talk about how for some reason back
in the day, you look at your parents a yearbook
and everyone looks like they're thirty in high school dudes
had full on mutton chops. Dad, are fifty years old
in high school TV dads of the eighties, You're like,
how old are they? According to the stats the cast
of Cheers. When you're looking at the group shot, they've
(43:57):
labeled the ages. George went supposed to be thirty four,
Ted Danson as the bar owner thirty five. Who's the
guy that put the mailman with the mustache? Both his
character again, Cliff. Yeah, Cliff thirty five and yeah Cliff
(44:17):
Claven and the women on that show were both thirty
three years old.
Speaker 2 (44:20):
Thirty three, so George.
Speaker 4 (44:22):
Went was actually like in his mid to late thirties,
though he is.
Speaker 2 (44:25):
But what I'm saying, it's like they looked at you like
I was, Sam. I was Sam. I'm guessing your grandparents
are no longer with us.
Speaker 4 (44:34):
Well, he lost my last grandparents in March.
Speaker 2 (44:37):
I have a theory.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
But let me just tell everyone right now, if you
want to call the win, let's get the phones going
eight seven, seven, nine to nine on Fox. Yeah, we're
gonna play our game, Shack Diesel Trivia. It's real easy
to play, and we're giving away a swiggy to the winner.
Our stainless steel stainless the other one's stains. This one's tainless,
stayless stainless steel water bottle. It's midnight black, it's real
nice and your chance to win is now eight seven
(44:59):
seven ninety and I'm fine. Now back to my grandparent theory.
And I bring that up, Sam, because I feel like
most of us have lost our grandparents, right. You think
of your old grandma and grandpa and the people that
help raise us. You'd be at Grandma's house. My grandmother
wore a mumo. My grandfather was a World War Two
veteran who like brushed his hair back and washed his
hands with like lava soap after he worked on his
car in the driveway. My grandpa washed his face with
(45:20):
all They looked like they were eighty when they were
fifty five.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
Let's do what I was say. I'm shack Diesel trivia.
Speaker 7 (45:28):
Whenever we say not to name drop, that means we're
about to name drop.
Speaker 2 (45:32):
I'll name drop. Oh my goodness. Not only our CNR
friends with Tyson and mahomes Hey man, they're all so
buddies with a big Aristotle's.
Speaker 3 (45:43):
Big Shag Diesel aka Shatfu aka Shag Daddy aka the
Big Aristotle.
Speaker 2 (45:48):
Guess what it's Donald from seeing our project. Time for
some basketball trivia. Shack Diesel basketball trivia. H what he said?
It was the Great brag Board. Now I'm breaking records
reference radio Shack d SO basketball trivia.
Speaker 7 (46:02):
All right, f that's our security walking our broke shack
food into the main studios.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
Are you ready to get this?
Speaker 7 (46:10):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (46:11):
Bridge? You guys? The semi finals to go in tonight breath.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
So draft lottery, Yeah, you know, allegedly, Davis star and
asked me, but you already told the story, so carry on.
I will tell you this the rest and peace. George went,
He's my my third favorite George on TV?
Speaker 2 (46:29):
Who's your first hills.
Speaker 3 (46:30):
About George Jefferson, the boy, George Jefferson, And I'm not
talking about Stephen A. Smith, about George Jefferson, and then
George Jason and then George went, rust in peace.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
J Justson's man. Huh, j Justson's man. Who do you
got tonight for Game one of the Western Conference Finals?
Speaker 3 (46:46):
He already said NBA is rigged, allegedly, so tonight is
going to be the Timberwolves, but the Nicks are definitely in.
Speaker 7 (46:54):
All right, you're a full Nicks. Let's meet the contestants.
Ten time winner, Rich Davis right over there. Here we
go Shack, four time winner, Spotty Boy. Here, let's do this,
all right, let's do Leader in the clubhouse, thirteen time
winner Dan Bayer, Hello and looking to win and seeing
our stain of steel swingy in our studio lines. The
first one through was Neil in Lacrosse, Wisconsin.
Speaker 2 (47:16):
Neil, Neil, what's up? Man, all right, let's go. All right, Neil,
what you do really quick for a living there in Lacrosse?
Come with cheese? What was that? What do you do
for a living in Wisconsin? There?
Speaker 3 (47:29):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (47:29):
I deliver just deliver good Oh.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
Deliver goods to the coolie region. She's what he does.
Speaker 7 (47:36):
Here are the rules for Shack Diesel trivia. The first
contestant with two correct answers is the champ. If there's
a tie, we do have a tie breaker question. Your
name is your buzzer, but you do have to wait
until all three possible answers are read. If there's two
wrong answers in a row, we move on to the
next question. Are you ready?
Speaker 2 (47:51):
Yeah, let's go. Let's get it home.
Speaker 3 (47:54):
Who was the first team to lose three straight NBA finals?
Was it a Lakers, be the Celtics or see the Knicks?
Shot Diesel?
Speaker 2 (48:04):
Who you got? Come on, I'm giving you a chance, Neil.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
You got first team to lose three straight NBA finals? Neil, Yeah,
No penalty if you're wrong? Rich Rich Lakers? Oh, Rich
you say Lakers.
Speaker 2 (48:18):
Yeah it's Lakers. No it's not. Oh it's not Lakers.
It's not.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
No.
Speaker 2 (48:22):
But that was nice. Nice try. He's so confident you were, Neil,
What did ye, Neil? You got to shout your name
out yep, Celtics, his name's yep, and you're both losers.
It was the Knicks.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
Knicks lost to the Rochester Royals and fifty one and
the Minneapolis Lakers fifty two and fifty three.
Speaker 2 (48:45):
It's the Lakers. Nobody on the way to.
Speaker 1 (48:47):
Be wrong about Ask klown you know why the Lakers
were an obvious good answer because you know how many
years they lost to the Celtics.
Speaker 3 (48:53):
Guy. This guy's always justifying, he's I love what he's
like that every time he loses.
Speaker 7 (48:59):
So wrong like that, you can't talk to Shack. You
better relax, all right, nobody on the board yet, Let's
go around two. What was our ones quote of saying
about my habits? Hey, excellence is not a singular act
but a habit.
Speaker 2 (49:17):
What are you repeating?
Speaker 3 (49:19):
You are what you repeatedly do? B I've had three habits.
I've dealt with cars, women and collecting businesses. Or see
a lot of bad habits finally get broken when they
break your bank account. Oh what have I said about
my habits?
Speaker 2 (49:34):
Spot Spot? I want to go with se Non Neil,
you're gonna jump in or what I'll beat you be wrong,
You'll be wrong. Exblence is not a singular act, but
a habit. You are what you repeatedly do. Neil, You're
like shock at the free throw.
Speaker 7 (49:52):
A lot all strikes so far. Yeah, as we go
around through, Yeah, Neil, just buzzing by saying your name.
Speaker 2 (50:01):
Remember your name is Neil. Yep. Round three.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
I felt bad for Jason Tatum. Let's get a question
in about the Sea's glory days. Who is the only
team to defeat the Celtics at the infamous Boston Garden
during the nineteen eighty five eighty six season. A the
Washington Bullets, b the Portland Trail Blazers, or C the
New York Knicks.
Speaker 5 (50:25):
Dan Buyer, Let's say the Blazers came to town and
gotta win.
Speaker 2 (50:29):
You are correct? Yes, the old d next day Ye?
Speaker 7 (50:35):
Yeah, December sixth, nineteen eighty five, the only loss at
Boston Garden. They finished thirty seven.
Speaker 2 (50:41):
And won that season. That's amazing, all right, Buyer, on
the board, we go to round four.
Speaker 3 (50:45):
That's right, shot Diesel, Round four. I was a busy
boy back in my day as well. How many children.
Does the t wolves Anthony Edwards have? Is it a eight,
B six or C four? Now, Neil, if you don't
get this right, kick my shoe off and hit you
over the head. You say your name first, Neil. You
(51:08):
gotta buz in by saying your name.
Speaker 2 (51:11):
Yeah, okay his name now, yeah, shout out Neil.
Speaker 4 (51:18):
Yep, Neil B six.
Speaker 2 (51:20):
No, No, he'd be just a buyer for the steal
in the way. Oh gosh, see was yes? All right? Four?
Speaker 3 (51:30):
Anthony Edwards has four kids. Look at this, four kids
by four different women. So he's off to a good start.
He's only twenty three years old.
Speaker 2 (51:39):
Right, thank you. Buyer gets his fourteenth win. My god,
I was painful. Had to save Wisconsin's pride.
Speaker 7 (51:47):
Nons now, George went now, Usually Buyer is a no
brainer for you to still mail the SWIGGI out No, No, I.
Speaker 3 (51:57):
Want to interject and say we have to set a stick.
That guy was as my my good friend Charles will say.
Speaker 2 (52:03):
Terrible.
Speaker 3 (52:05):
Game.
Speaker 2 (52:06):
He was terrible. We love you, Neil. Still Neil gets
a slapper in the head, does what he gets. We
still love you, though, Neil, Thank you for listening. Goodbye.
Speaker 1 (52:14):
Thanks, Yep, guys, I got a bet for you, a
little wager Draft Kings pick six.
Speaker 2 (52:26):
But I'm not going six because I like my odds.
I got a ten dollars wins eighty Danny g. You
want to hear this, bad boy, Yes, go, let's hear it. Rich.
Here's what I like now.
Speaker 1 (52:36):
A lot of times DraftKings does this cool thing where
they sort of give you a gimme. You ever see
these things where it's like Anthony Edwards more than point
five points because they want you to, you know, want
you to play. Sure, I'm taking advantage of the sweet
offerings from Draft Kings. So here's what I'm doing. It's
Anthony Edwards more than half a point. It was twenty
five and a half, but they're giving that to you
as like the little bonus. So I'm going more than
(52:58):
Anthony more than point five five for Anthony Edwards and
for also Minnesota Julius Randall more than nineteen and a half.
He scored twenty more in I think five of the
last six games, So Julius Randall needs to hit twenty
or more now. Alex Caruso on the other side of things, Okay,
see he's had double digit games. I think also like
(53:20):
six of the last seven game seven, so eight and
a half. You know, just think Cruso to get nine.
I like that, and the one risky one I did
because he has proven to just be a big game player.
You're likely MVP SGA more than thirty one and a half.
So you need thirty two from SGA, twenty from Randall,
(53:43):
double digits for Caruso and Anthony Edwards just to score
a point.
Speaker 2 (53:47):
And that's ten bucks win JA.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
Eighty I think been buckeroos Yeah, ten bucks win j yeah,
why not?
Speaker 2 (53:53):
Right? Yeah.
Speaker 1 (53:55):
By the way, I'm thinking about what Scheq Huille O'Neil
said when he was here broke Shack.
Speaker 2 (54:00):
And he said I'm never coming back.
Speaker 1 (54:02):
He did say, you know, Rich talks too much and
that guy sucked as a contestant, but glad he played,
and he said he was very busy. He also said
that the NBA is rigged, allegedly, right, yeah. He s
a based on David Stern saying, hey, where do you
want to play? Whereas Colder where is hot? And then
Orlando gets the first pick and they picked Shack. If
(54:24):
it comes down to ratings, and we already alluded that
the NBA has to want the Knicks because that equals ratings.
Who what would be the better ratings? Grab the Knicks,
Timberwolves or the thunder.
Speaker 2 (54:41):
SGA is your likely MVP.
Speaker 1 (54:44):
But then again, Anthony Edward Edwards the better star right,
they're they're they're both Like when you broke shack did
say Nick Timberwolves has the bigger star power. Yeah, that's
what I think too. Yeah is that the answer?
Speaker 3 (54:57):
Though?
Speaker 1 (54:57):
You know, Daniel compared to the NFL, when we said
Brock perties sitting with a similar salary to Tua and
Golf and other guys, where we're like, yeah, so it
does make sense. I think I think the t Wolves
and the thunder and that same level of like, yo, young,
exciting team, but not they don't have the star power
of the Lakers the Warriors, and.
Speaker 7 (55:13):
It stinks that they're a small market team because they're
when they're clicking, they're really fun to watch. They play
a fun brand of basketball.
Speaker 2 (55:21):
Do you rather say, you might rather see Minnesota Gause?
The'll make her a boss happy? Right?
Speaker 3 (55:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (55:25):
No, I agree with Danny g The.
Speaker 1 (55:29):
Anthony Edwards storyline is probably a bigger story for the
casual guy because they all know him by now. With
the Jordan comparisons. The young superstars on the Thunder people
aren't that familiar with maybe Caruso and SGA, but again
not as exciting as Anthony. But I do wonder is
this the beginning of like SGA's first of many and
(55:53):
then we'll look back and be like, why do we
downplay this kid?
Speaker 4 (55:55):
Like?
Speaker 2 (55:56):
You know, so, what is the finals that you would
want to see? That the network, she'd want to hit.
Speaker 1 (56:00):
Us up at coven on rituals, see you guys back
here tomorrow, thank you, Danny G and I were Sam
and Spotty until then, I'll
Speaker 2 (56:06):
Read it there you baby, see you and the Promised
Land haven't had a room.
