Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, and welcome into the Fantasy Pros Fantasy Football podcast.
It's the week one instant reaction show coming to you
live right here on twitch dot tv slash Fantasy Pros.
I'm your host of Seth Wilcock thrilled me back with
you tonight, and I'm joined by a few good lads,
including a man who is an orthopedic sports surgeon and
the founder of sportsmed Analytics. He's trained at institutions like Harvard, Stanford, You,
(00:26):
Penn and Yes, Vandy, places that I think as soon
as I walked onto campus I would instantly be escorted off.
He's doctor Deepak Chona.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Doc.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
How are you? Thanks for taking time from saving lives
to join us today.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Man, I appreciate that, Seth. No, we're doing well. Everybody
in Houston is keeping spirits up very intentionally, so we're
happy overall.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Awesome. Well, glad to have you in here overall, man,
and thanks again for taking the time and also joining
us as a man who I can only imagine was Hooton.
He was hollering today as the Steelers got a big
win in New York. He's Scott, big time Bogman. How
you doing.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
I'm good Man seven lead changes, heart fluttering the entire game,
BP way up, but we'll walk away with the win
and we'll be happy about it. So not the biggest
fan of Aaron Rodgers, but when he throws four touchdowns,
he's my guys, So there we go.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
We're loving it, Deepak, What can you give us for
like a resting heart rate? Like how to get Boggs
is down a little bit because I know it's probably
been up the last few days with the Texas game
yesterday and the Steelers going back and forth today with
the Jets.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Yeah, you know, all I could tell him would just
be doing Aaron Rodgers does it? Clearly works?
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Lots of sleep, right, That's what it is.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yeah, right on, right on watching Dolphins and Wales. Mate.
I think might be the cure for you, Bogman. Today's show, guys,
looks like this. We'll break down the most notable injuries
with Deepak. Then we'll recap all twelve games from the
early and afternoon slate, letting you know the biggest fantasy
football risers and fallers along the way. And before we
jump in, shout out to everyone who's rocking and rolling
(01:58):

sure you're subscribing to the channel if your news. You
(02:19):
don't miss a moment of content this season. And let's
go ahead, gentlemen, let's jump into the infree front where
we got some big news on Thursday and Friday Deepak
San Francisco forty nineers running back Christian McCaffrey. He missed
practice with a calf injury, but did start on Sunday
with that calf strain. Deepak obviously quite a different situation
from a year ago because he was out there, he
(02:40):
got the volume and we got those practice news on
Thursday again, so it felt like we've seen this movie before.
What can you tell us about CMC and what you
saw out there today from him?
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Yeah, he looked good. It doesn't look like they really
held back on him at all. They usually don't with
Shanahan and the fact that he was out for just
one practice, and even that DNP he was still doing
some sort of like athletic motions and a little bit
here and there didn't really look overly concerning. And the
(03:13):
fact that you know he's an age twenty nine running back,
he has that history, you would think they would be
conservative with him if he were truly injured or strained.
So I actually don't even think I would call this
version a calf strain. He's going to be a high
injury risk for the rest of the year. We have
him projected based on injury history, age and usage at
(03:35):
double the average running back. But with that being said,
when he's out there, he's probably gonna look like you
did today and that he's one of the top scorers
of the week. So I would keep on using him
as long as he's healthy.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
So BOD, I mean, from a fantasy perspective, if you
don't have Christian McCaffrey on your team, are you rostering
guys like Brian Robinson Junior or Isaac Garndo.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Currently Brian Robinson, for sure, I think it's a pretty
big margin. It's a pretty big gap between b rob
and Garrendo in my opinion, so b rob is the
guy to have, but obviously he's not gonna be on
many wires. Hopefully, if you drafted CMC, you also you
have got him handcuffed with Robinson late in the process there,
but that would be the guy two rosters should anything
(04:18):
happen to CMC and I have zero share. I have
one share of the team. I split with the Well,
she's the Niner fan of CMC for that reason.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Well, I'm glad to hear that. And also we did
get some news on the injury front, A little clarification
from a Friday night injury. Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver
Xavier Worthy. He suffered a dislocated shoulder Friday night in
Brazil when Travis Kelce ran into him when running across
the middle. Per Ian Rappaport, we got this update. Worthy
suffered a dislocated shoulder, still undergoing some tests to determine
(04:50):
the severity of that, but they are hopeful that he
can make a return some time this season with a brace. However,
surgery is an option. Depak. If Worthy was your client,
what would you be recommending for the dislocated shoulder and
what do you think this means? For a timetable for return.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Yeah, so from it depends kind of on what your
goals are from the standpoint of minimizing the risk of
future dislocations. That's definitely the operative treatment. Pretty much right
after the first dislocation. What happens is you get some
tearing and sometimes even a fracture in there. And if
they're saying that he is hopeful that he's coming back
(05:27):
with nonoperative treatment, usually by now from a Friday injury,
they'd have the results of the MRI and they would
have a preliminary plan and usually just pending a second opinion.
So the overall sort of thought process often with these
shoulder dislocations is that you can return, you can try
to wear a brace it. The redislocation rates are really high.
(05:48):
They're fifty percent in season for NFL players and we're
only a week one. So with that in mind, you
also have to factor in that he is on the
lighter side, so every hit is relatively a little bit
more energy for his body to absorb. With that being said,
he's probably going to come back. The average timeline for
nonoperative treatment is about three weeks, so you would expect
(06:10):
somewhere in that range for him to come back or
at least attempt to I think overhead motion and specifically
kind of reaching up for those catches. That's where the
shoulder tends to be a little bit more unstable. So
that's going to be a position that I don't know
if we're going to see from him necessarily, but for
the rest of basically his game, you probably see a
(06:32):
relatively good performance when he's active and healthy. Now, if
you read dissocates, that usually would mean a season ender
in that then at that point the shoulder is increasingly unstable,
and you may be sacrificing the long term by pushing
pushing through it even further.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
So, Bob and hearing this two part question one, where's
worthy for your rest of season in your rankings? And
also how much fab are you spending on Hollywood Brown
who just had an absolute gainer of a game for
ninety nine on Friday night in Brazil.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
Yeah, I haven't Joseph my rankings yet. I'm waiting for
obviously the rest of the week one to happen, so but
he will obviously move down if he's going to miss
about a month here or three weeks or whatever it is.
But yeah, Marquis Brown goes up sixteen targets in that game.
I don't think they're gonna be playing for behind like
that all the time, but he is a really big option.
With Rice down and now Worthy down for an extended
(07:26):
period of time, I have heard, you know, and after
Miami's performance today, maybe a little Tyreek Hill back to
the Kansas City Chiefs would be an interesting move. I
don't know if that's logistical with salary caps and all
that stuff, but maybe something that they're thinking about coming off,
you know, two down wide receivers and a loss to
(07:48):
start the scene.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
Yeah, it's kind of a tough scene out there if
you have a lot of Kansas City Chiefs fantasy options.
You know, we got Rashid Rice on the shelf for
at least five more games, and then at the same time,
wasn't great for that backfield as well, with Karee high
in Isaiah Pajaco really kind of splitting some of that
workload there. Let's go to Las Vegas where Raiders tight
end brock Bowers. He left with a knee injury after
he went for over one hundred yards on five receptions.
(08:11):
He said he's fine afterwards. There are no consumer concerns
moving forward. Deepak, do you trust the talented second year
tight end's word on that?
Speaker 3 (08:19):
I actually do. Yeah. The mechanism was relatively mild appearing.
The need didn't really buckle, it bent a little bit inwards,
so you'd think maybe he sprained it. But with that
being said, he was up and pretty active on the
sideline as well, and so overall it sounds like it
truly was a precaution. I do believe that in the
(08:41):
sense that he probably could have played through it. If
it were, for example, a playoff game. Oftentimes you'd get
an MRI or just to kind of make sure that
there was no muniscal injury or anything that needed taking
care of or potentially should be on his radar. But
in general, if he's feeling pretty good at this point,
I would suspect that he returns to practice this week
(09:01):
without a major issue.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Bugs. Will there be any adjustment for you in your rankings,
because not only do we have this little bit of
a knee thing flare up, but the usage for him
in the first half was strange, with Michael Mayer seeing
a ton of snaps.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
Yeah, I mean, I do not care about one of
the very few players that I don't care about the
snaps with is Rock Bowers, and I am just so
glad that Deepak is giving us, you know, potential good
news here. Obviously we have to get the report back
from the team, but real big bullet. I dodged here
because I also have one of the other tight ends
(09:37):
a bunch of shares of So yeah, I'm just happy
that he's going to be out there. It is weird.
We'll get more into that later, Seth. But not too
worried about Bowers if this injury turns up to be
not much.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Okay, And I wanted to shout out a couple of
people who just followed us on Twitch dot TV, Slash
Fantasy pros Venniko, orb J Buka, Drew York, t t Damn,
Tom Texan Hurricane, and also Grand American Kano. Thank you
guys so much. We just actually passed two thousand followers
right here on Twitch, so thank you so much for that.
We really really appreciate that Toby Afro Mango DKG also
(10:14):
following us as well, so thank you so much for that.
Let's go to Drake London here, Depak, where he exited
late with what looked like to be an upper body injury.
Do any updates on what this might look like with
Atlanta Falcons wide receivers.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Yeah, so he was questionable is what they called it.
But it was towards the end of the game. It
looked with about two and a half minutes left, he
came down on that shoulder pretty hard and that I
think would result in most commonly in ac joint sprain.
You know, the average on these this tends to be
a little bit of a milder side one to two weeks.
(10:49):
With that being said, you know, the severity is hard
to tell just from the video itself, so we'll just
have to monitor his return to practice. Typically, if players
are able to log at least two limited practices this
the week leading up to the game, they would play,
so that'll be kind of the threshold. Hopefully we'll see
him out there at least by Wednesday Thursday.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Bogman, are there any pickups for you from this Atlanta
pass catching group? Darnell Mooney of course rolled out before
we even got to the game, and then Ray Ray
McLeod Duzzley. He does best. Man. It just continues to
make a little bit of a difference after you know,
being really a return specialist for the early part of
his career. Three receptions fifty one yards anyone worth scouring
out there on the waivers.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Four Probably not on the wires. I mean Reray would
be the guy. But maybe in DFS if Mooney misses again.
In London's down Casey Washington led them in snaps among
wide receivers, and I believe routes run as well, So
it might be an interesting one more for deep deep
leagues or you know, DFS or something like that.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Okay, George Kittle rolled out You mentioned it earlier, Bogman,
you alluded to it. Tight end for the San Francisco
forty nine ers rolled out with a hamstring deepak, Is
this one of the those situations where it's, you know,
the early season hamstring they missed one to three weeks
and eventually get back on the field. Or is this
worse or better than that? You think?
Speaker 3 (12:10):
I would say because of the player, It's a little
bit worse in the sense that he is age thirty one,
he has a soft tissue history, including a hamstring history himself.
Now it sounds like it was actually the other hamstring
that was most recently affecting him. But nonetheless he's got
a lot of soft tissue injuries. So the average, as
(12:30):
you mentioned, is about two to three weeks on these
hamstring strains. You saw him pull up after the play.
He didn't fall to the ground or anything like that
that would suggest that it was what an automatically severe level,
But I would say when you pull up like that,
usually you're seeing at least that high end of mild
or in the moderate category, where you'd call it two
(12:52):
to three weeks as a reasonable expectation. The return is
kind of a subjective thing in terms of how aggressive
players teams want to be with it. They return early,
they have a higher reinjury risk, and the performance dip
is usually not that severe, usually about fifteen percent the
first week back. So you would expect him to play
(13:13):
relatively well as long as he can avoid reinjury. But
that's going to be the key. Some some of these
are up to about a twenty five percent reinjury risk.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
And did you see what happened to Juwan Jennings late
in that game too? We saw him exit when the
forty nine ers were you know, getting back into this one.
So and any idea on what Jennings timeline might be
and what that injury that he did suffer and you're
not a surprise with him, I feel like sitting out
a lot of training camp.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Yeah, you know, it's it's unclear to me what exactly
the injury was. A I haven't seen the video yet,
but he left the game reported a shoulder injury. So
I'll be looking into that and definitely update y'all, but
I don't have anything on it yet.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Okay, no worries Bogman. What does this mean for the
forty nine ers pass catchers? Is it just wheels up
here for Ricky Piersal the rest of the way.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
I mean going into last year, I was like, I
don't when when is Ricky Piersoll gonna get on the field.
They have Debo, they have Ayuk, they have Kittle, they
have CMC. Like they there's gonna be no footballs for him.
And now almost everybody's dead except for CMC, so or gone. Obviously,
I've gone a bunch of injuries here, So yeah, Ricky
Piersoll is going to be wheels up and luckily there
(14:21):
are a bunch of tight ends that we can probably
add a coming off Week one with some good performances here,
so uh not. Hopefully this is not very long, but
if it is, we we have some plans for it.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Okay, awesome, awesome, and Deepak, let's get you out on
this man. Do you have any updates on either Tampa
Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin, who wasn't out there
this week, or Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon. Are
we thinking we're gonna see mixing at all this year?
Do you think we see Godwin within the next few weeks? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (14:54):
So Godwin probably is returning to practice pretty soon here.
They've reported that they were looking at a week five target,
which kind of made sense with him not being on
the pup. Now, the question with Godwin is really like
when can you use him in your fantasy lineup? Confidently?
And I would tell you that probably isn't going to
be for the first several weeks back. Usually with these
(15:15):
ankle fractures and dislocations, you see about a twelve month
hit to their performance. That's pretty noticeable. About twenty percent
was what we projected. That was keeping in mind that
potentially a very smooth recovery process, and so we don't
really know how smooth or how not smooth Godwin's has been.
He had a second surgery, so it implies maybe there
(15:38):
was some issues with the recovery process. But then at
the same time they gave him a long term contract
knowing everything about his injury. So with that in mind,
I would say Godwin, I would not anticipate using him
before week eight, but I think we're going to see
him on the field around that week five or six timeline.
And then regarding Joe Mixon, unfortunately a lot less optimism there.
(16:00):
There's really no update that's been had. But if you
if you look back at his injury timeline, it's reportedly
already been around three or four months, so most nonoperatively
treated injuries by this time they would be essentially healed.
And I'm not sure if we're going to see a
drastic difference over the course of the next let's say,
(16:20):
four weeks or six weeks. And that's the part that
becomes concerning at what point is like some intervention what's needed,
and that would then shut him down for the year.
So I am not as optimistic on Mixing, but definitely
more so on Godwin towards the back half of the year.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
So Bog's staying kind of on that mix in Texans
beat there, Like, do we just keep rolling out Nick Chubb?
I mean, he had twelve thirteen carries today. He looked good.
At the end of the game once the defense got
worn down a Goomba waallely fumbled that game away for
Deepaks Hexan, So do you think it's you know, maybe
taking a little bit away from him, a little bit
away from Pierce or are you really just hoping he
(16:56):
falls into the end zone if you're starting me a
Chubb right now.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
I mean I think it's you know, it is Nick
Chubb right now. If you're looking at a Texans running back,
that's the guy. So you know, if Mixing is going
to be out long term, kind of like Breesehall to
get moved at some point if the Jets start, you know,
keep losing games, I should say, uh, but head offense
look good. So and he looked like the forefront of it.
(17:19):
So maybe that those rumors are dead. I think the
ETN rumors are dead as well, So it's probably wheels
up for Nick Chubb moving forward here.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Okay, Well, Deepak, thanks so much for all your injury
insight tonight. Man can you let everyone know who isn't
familiar with your work where they can find it totally. Uh.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
You can find me basically on any social media platform
mostly Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter x sort of. Just search
Deepalk Chona my name or sports Meta Analytics and we'll
come up. And I am all in favor of that
rumor that you just started there with reesel.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Let's go deepalwk. Thanks again. Make sure you guys are
checking out all of Deepak's work and coming up on
the other side of this great ad reader we have
for you is our game breakdowns for all the Sunday actions.
So let's hit that and tell you a little bit
more about the Fantasy pros Discord community. All right, and
before we get into the recaps, I wanted to remind
everyone that this week we've partnered with Pristine Auction to
(18:15):
give away a Ricky Piersaw signed forty nine ers mini helmet.
Whether you're a Niners fan like our guy Chris Welsh,
or you just love collecting some signed NFL gear, this
is a must have addition to your collection. To enter,
just leave a comment on any of our Twitch streams
this week at Twitch dot tv slash Fantasy pros and
as always Twitched Subs, you're gonna get a one and
(18:36):
a half times odds boost for being a part of
our community. We really really appreciate your sport. We'll be
announcing a winner right here on the channel Tuesday, September sixteenth,
so make sure you're getting invested with that. Signed Ricky
Piersalt mini helmet. Ricky Piersaw bogs good game for him.
But let's first start in the one o'clock slate. The
first game to end was the Indianapolis Courts cold twenty
(19:00):
three Miami Dolphins eight. The Colts absolutely manhandled the Dolphins
in this one. Man went up twenty zero by half,
out gained them four hundred and eighteen yards to two
hundred and eleven. And we talked this offseason quite a
bit like that there was a chance that even if
we were just price important and enforcing some of these
offensive weapons, the eight Chans, the Tyreek Hills, the Jalen Wattles,
that things can go south in Miami in a hurry,
(19:23):
and they might hit that reset button. After three turnovers,
just over twenty one minutes of possession time against the Colts.
The Colts, out of all people I think we're already
there is panic setting in.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
I think panic is definitely striking, like this was the thing.
You know, McDaniel one of the highest odds coaches to
get fired early. So yeah, I think I think they're
worried about it for fantasy. I mean, Tyreek and Waddle
are a little worrisome. But I think they'll get it
together and I think they'll be better moving forward. This
(19:55):
time of possession just got out of hand. Thirty eight
forty three to twenty one to seven. You're not gonna
get anything done offensively if you're only holding the ball
for twenty one minutes. So yes, it was a bad
offensive performance. Really, we might need to worry more about
that Miami defense not being able to get a damn
stop right and obviously he can't turn the ball over,
but they made quick scores out of most of those,
(20:17):
so you know, I think two was going to be better.
This was a bad game for him, But really that
lopside of time of possession was a big thing here,
and Jonathan Taylor looked good. He played one hundred percent
of the snaps while they were in the first half
when they were winning, and they didn't pull him and
put in DJ until that game was in hand.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
Caught some passes to finally three for twenty seven out
of the back.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
Yeah yeah, and Gidnets came in and looked okay. Tyler
Warren made his debut here, nine targets, seven catches, eighty
six yards, and he ran the most routes among tight
ends as well. Usually the Colts like to mix a
lot here, but Pittman got in for a touchdown as well.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
Daniel Jones.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
So here's my one little worry coming out of this
game is that Daniel Jones scored twice at the goal line.
Is he going to take carries away from JT? Because
we saw JT not do much scoring here. I mean,
great game for him. Eighteen for seventy one and three
catches for twenty seven yards. Looked good, but didn't get
in that end zone. DJ was, you know, sniping his
(21:21):
tds here, So hopefully we get that figured out. Eight
Chan way over Allie Gordon, all Ollie Gordon. Stuff was
overblown a little bit here, I think to start the
year at least and a Chan got the ball thirty
four forty seven snaps only twelve for Alie and it
was ten touches to three in favor of eight Chen
(21:43):
as well. So I think I think that stuff was
a little overblown. A little worried about JT's touchdowns with
Daniel Jones sneaking at the goal line, but and I'm
worried about Tua in the offense, but more Miami defense.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Yeah, I'm there with you. And honestly, can we get
a shout out to our guy Tyler Warren, like, well,
the real Tyler Warren Truthers please stand up, because Bogman,
what an absolute clinic. This guy put on seven for
seventy six on nine targets and a rush for three yards,
caught three receptions on that first drive. I think he's
really starting to eat in this Josh Downs role, like
(22:17):
a lot of us were projecting here. So what are
your thoughts here? I'm gonna reset myself and tell us
your thoughts on Tyler Warren.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Yeah, okay, I wasn't really sure where we were going
with that, but yeah, Tyler Warren, I mean he looked good.
You know, I mentioned that before a little bit where
you know, last season, traditionally the Colts have used multiple
tight ends, but this season we saw it in the
preseason from Week one right. It was all Tyler Warren
(22:48):
on that first drive with the starters, and lots and
lots of Tyler Warren. Here fifty three snaps for him,
twenty four routes run, only twenty three for Moley Cox
or thirty three with ten routes run and only six
for Ogletree. So your man running the routes is Warren
for sure.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Well, and here's an interesting nugget I put out on
socials earlier today. Bogman Tyler Warren thirty one percent target
share in week one tight end target share leaders in
twenty twenty four Trey McBride twenty eight percent, Brock Bowers
twenty six percent, Travis Kelsey twenty three percent. So I
think you got yourself a top five tight end if
you invested in Tyler Warren. That's where I had him ranked,
and I was way ahead of ECR. But hopefully you
(23:26):
know a lot of people started catching up by the end.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
Not allowed for downs either.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
Downs had what was it, three targets, two catches, twelve
yards when they had the ball that much, I mean
they ran a lot, but little concerning for downs as well.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
I've kind of figured that Warren would almost kind of
overtaken for that role, So not totally shocked anything else
from you from a fantasy perspective from this game, like
h Chan, only player in double digits for the Dolphins,
saved kind of by that late game touchdown. Tyreek very
frustrate on the sideline waddle in and out of the
medical ten as well.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
I'm gonna save my pay for one more game, Okay, right,
I just think this lopside of times possession was the
big thing. But if they can't hold the ball and
they're going to be well under thirty minutes every single game,
then that's going to be a problem.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Okay, all right? Next up, in a game that had
a projected total that CREP under thirty seven points by kickoff,
the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the New York Jets thirty four
thirty two thanks to a sixty yard field goal from
the Wizard of bos Baby. Both offense pretty efficient in
this one, surprisingly five yards per play for the Steelers,
six point four YPA for the Jets, and four touchdowns
(24:34):
for Rogers in his Steelers debut, four different players catching
those huge day for Justin Fields though from fantasy perspective,
Bogs sixteen twenty two two hundred and eighteen to one
through the air, twelve for forty eight and two on
the ground. Breis Hall Garrett Wilson. They did their things.
They both went over ninety five yards. And while there
was some truth to the Jets going to a committee,
we saw them really lean on haul down the stretch.
(24:55):
And meanwhile for the Steelers, so it was like, I
think they weren't lying about Caleb Johnson being third on
the depth chart. So who were the fancy football winners
and losers from just an explosive game in eth Retherford.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
I mean it has to be Gainwell is the biggest
winner here, right, I mean because he had more snaps,
more routes than the other running backs here, and Caleb
got nothing. He had two snaps in this game outside
of kick returns, right which he fumbled one of them.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
I don't know why he's returning kicks. It's not really
built for that.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
So I just Gainwell was twenty nine to fifty six.
He ran sixteen routes. Warren had more touches, of course,
eleven and thirty seven, and he scored the touchdown. So
I still think it's Warren by a decent margin here.
But it's gainwell over Caleb for now. That doesn't mean
drop Caleb, right because remember what we did when people
were dropping Chase Brown last year and he had the enormous.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Season or was that two years ago?
Speaker 4 (25:53):
Everything's mixing for me now, But yeah, it was a
mix specifically that first drive for they. I know you
were paying attention set because this is our Steelers, but
Braylan Allen and Isaiah Davis both got carries on that
first drive, So I was like, right, are we going
to be leaning more towards a real committee? That is
(26:15):
not how it ended up. Thirty seven snaps for Breece.
He also had twenty one touches to six for Allen.
He did score a touchdown. Isaiah Davis got in as well.
But I just I'm not worried about Breece. Breese is
the best running back by a lot on this team.
I'm worried about Breese's maybe goal line carries because Fields
(26:36):
had two touchdowns and Braylin had one. Yeah, but that's
my only real worry. I mean, Taylor played a lot,
which was nice to see, but only the one target
because the Jets want to run the ball and they
did so very effectively. Against the Steelers here.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Want to shout out a couple of new subscribers here
who just upped with Prime totally. Rad Cal just subbed
with Prime and M. Johnson Junior twenty three uh caps
for two five two two, also subbing with prime. Melson
as we as well just sub with Prime. So very
exciting stuff there. But Bogman, let's go ahead. Let's go
(27:12):
to duvall where weather delay there, but it didn't stop
the Jaguars from beating the Panthers twenty six to ten.
What are your opinions here on this game, Bogs?
Speaker 4 (27:24):
Yeah, let's I mean, let's just start I think maybe
you need to uh uh go in and come out again,
Sethy because your nuts a little garbled here. But uh,
let's just start out with the Jacksonville running back situation here,
Man Etn look great, he looks so good. Sixteen for one,
three three for thirteen.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
In the air, I belie la quin Allen was the
second guy to get touches here. Almost nothing in this
run game. Uh Bigsby fourteen snaps, laquin Allen nine toot
and only had four uh. But Etn seems to be
the guy here in Jacksonville. This is a situation that
I was worried about going in, so I kind of avoided.
(28:06):
But my whole thought process was, look, I think Etn
is the guy. Let's go with Etn here, and that
is what it wound up being. Unfortunately, I think I
only have one or two shares because it's too much
of a coward to buy on a running back here
in this situation. And Carolina last season, of course historically
bad run defense, so it has not improved even though
we thought maybe it would. But I mean, Bryce Young
(28:28):
looked ugly. Man. He did not look good either. Eighteen
for thirty five, one hundred and fifty four yards, two
picks he ran for forty Ted looked okay, lots of
targets nine he led them nine targets, five catches, sixty
eight yards. Nobody else really did much. There wasn't a
tight end to pull from this ugly performance from Carolina.
(28:49):
So am I worried about Carolina? Maybe a little, But
this this looked bad. Bryce Young looked back, Hubbard was fine,
tet look fine. So if they can get Bryce Young
back to somewhat normal, and now that the Jags have
a real coaching staff, maybe they're just a good team.
That roster's always been pretty good, but the coaching has
(29:11):
been miserable there for a while, so Jags might be
pretty dangerous here. The Panthers look pretty bad though, so
I'm curious to see next week which one is more truthful.
Are the Jags really good or the Panthers really bad?
Speaker 2 (29:24):
Again? My gut tells me the Panthers are pretty bad again.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
Do you think if you're an ETN manager, this is
the time to get out? While his values had an
all time high, I mean, we were drafting ETN eighth, ninth,
sometimes tenth round, so I think you could probably get
a pretty good return on investment there.
Speaker 4 (29:41):
Yeah, I mean I think if I if I invested
in ETN, I kind of want to hold him right now.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
It looks good. He's a good flex option.
Speaker 4 (29:50):
There are some injuries today and there will be moving forward,
So I think for the most part, you're probably not
going to get what you want back for ETN. Now, look,
you know, float them, get that offer that you can't
refuse back and take it right, do one of those.
But I think for the most part, I'm not doing
a fair trade of Travis TTN right now.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Okay, and as far as the Panthers go, like, I
want to give this a little bit of time. I mean,
we have Hunter Renfro out there running routes right, you know,
and nothing against Hunter Renfro, but Xavier Loget, like, we
need to see more from this guy. He continues to
get a ton of targets, seven targets, but just made
nothing absolutely work with him, so that that was a
real bummer. But I think once we get you know,
(30:30):
Jalen koger Ashag Koke heads back in the action, maybe
it's a little bit better down the stretch here.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Yeah, I think so too.
Speaker 4 (30:37):
And going back to I didn't even mention Travis Hunter,
but led this team in targets. Look good, play both
sides of the ball. So BTJ a bad day. I'm
not worried about BTJ. I'm just not so anyone wants
to hit the panic button trade min me, I'll take him.
You should be if people are worried, you should be
trying to acquire him. Right now, it's still scored a
(30:59):
touchdown on the ground, So yeah, yeah, I'm I like
the way the Jags offense looked. But this is a
cupcake here. This is like playing Charleston Southern to open
your season. This is not great, so hopefully the Jags
can continue this role.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
Editor in chief of Mike A. Meyer in the chat, saying,
so many people O Travis Etn in an apology, his
demise was greatly exaggerated and lone start. I'm sorry, Etn.
I wasn't familiar with your game. This was the twenty
twenty three Etn. Right, It just you know, skipped the years, so.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
Great might have been the Clemson Etn right he saw here?
Speaker 1 (31:32):
Right, Yeah, absolutely great to see that. And overall, you know,
I think brighter days are ahead for Carolina and you know,
great first outing for Jacksonville. Let's move forward, though, to
a game that came down to the end, but the
Arizona Cardinals beat the New Orleans Saints twenty to thirteen.
Pretty even game overall in terms of efficiency, Saints even
(31:52):
holding a thirty four to twenty six minute time of
possession advantage. Here, Bogs, where do you want to start
from a fantasy PERSPECTI because pretty interesting usage both out
of the Saints pass catchers and the Cardinals backfield.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
Yeah, I mean, I think the Cardinals backfield is the
most interesting one, right, Like James Connor was the lead
guy here twelve for thirty nine. He also caught the touchdown,
but Benson mixed in more eight carries for sixty nine.
The snap split was forty three for Connor to twenty
two for Benson, so over half still going to James Connor,
(32:27):
and I think that's going to just continue to be
the way it goes. But Benson is going to get
mixed in here and falling knife for Connor. He is
an older back who's had an injury history, so I
think it makes sense. But I'm good with this mix.
If this is the mix that we have moving forward,
I'm good with it. It makes Benson a little more valuable,
and then we thought maybe Connor a slightly less valuable
(32:48):
then we thought, but still an RB two. So but
if Benson creeps in more, maybe I'll start worrying about
Connor a little bit and getting touchdowns. But you know,
Connor getting the score and more carries, We're all good there.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Yeah, yeah, I'm with you there for sure. And for
the Saints, let's talk about Jawan Johnson, Foreigner, Penn State
and Indee line eleven for eight eleven targets, eight reception,
seventy six yards for Johnson here, and at the same time,
like Chris o' lobby didn't put it down on the
stat sheet, but thirteen targets for him. He was in
and out of this game with a potential injury. I
think he is healthy moving forward though, So Bogan thoughts
(33:21):
on the overall Saints target pecking order here.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
Yeah, I mean they're gonna have a lot of passes
man Rattler through forty six in this first game here,
so they're gonna be losing a lot of games and
playing from behind a lot. So when I talked about
George Kittle, Juwan Johnson is our game plan here, he
was like, gonna be tight end number one, so many
targets here. We know Chris Olave has the big injury
history as well, So if it's gonna be Rattler and
(33:47):
Jawan Johnson is gonna be on the field a lot.
He's a good tight end if one of yours got hurt,
or if you decided to skip that and your tight
end did not perform well this week, like Juwan Johnson
is there for sure. Love all these targets for a lave.
Hopefully he's going to stay upright for a long time,
and Shaheed had nine targets as well, Like these pass
catchers need to be picked up because the Saints are
(34:09):
going to be losing most games. And yeah, these guys
were good. I wish we had a little more for
Camara still fifty nine and seventy five snaps, and.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
I wanted more receptions for him. I wanted more targets
because last time, you know, we saw Spencer Rattler out there,
he had fifty four to fifty five receiving yards in
those last two games, so I was disappointed. I was
also on the over of his receiving yards too, so
a little bit maybe biased there, but I would like
to see a little bit more camarow well, you know,
a little bless Kendre Miller, who.
Speaker 4 (34:39):
The good news is Miller only had eleven snaps out
of seventy five and Nei only had seven, so only
eighteen snaps for the two backs behind Kamara when he
had fifty nine. So it's still Camara by a landslide.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Okay, all right, Well, good to know there anything else
for you in this one. I mean, it was great
to see Marv.
Speaker 2 (34:57):
Marna back in the zone. We like that.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
Drey McBride leaden targets, so that was good. Kyler was
his usual meh so pretty standard Cardinals game there.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Yeah, And as even Mike says in the chat, Call
of Duty isn't even out yet, so that drop off
will come, folks, that drop off will come one hundred percent.
Let's keep it moving here though, and before we do,
I did want to say, if Jawan Johnson is someone
that you want to add from the waivers, if you
think he might be a good ad, first tread carefully.
Let's not go drop all our fab like we did
(35:30):
last year on Isaiah likely Guilty as charged, but also
don't miss it out on snagging potential difference makers like him.
Use the Waivers Central tool at fantasypros dot com, slash
my Playbook, or on the Fantasy Pros app to instantly
view suggestions on who you should add and who you
should drop. It's been a life saver tool for me
in the past. I hope it is for you as well.
(35:51):
And it was another low scoring NFC East affair in
the Nation's capital as the Washington Commanders. They took down
the Giants twenty one to six. Giants pretty putrid offensively
here Boggs, averaging just three point seven yards per play gross.
As a result, pretty much all their skilled players really
came in under projections. Malik Neighbors salvage his day twelve
point one PPR points, Wondel Robinson continued to do his
(36:14):
thing two eleven point five. Meanwhile for Washington, pretty slow
start for Scary Terry. I was on that under of
his receiving yards, so I kind of saw that one coming.
But big days for Deebo, Samuel Jacory Kroski, mayor Ak Bills.
So where do you want to start with this one, Bogs?
Speaker 4 (36:29):
Let's start with Bill. I mean the Bill breakout right.
This is ten carries for eighty two yards in a score,
caught one ball for nothing. But he was number two here.
It was thirty three for Eckler, it was twenty three
for Bill, and it was thirteen for McNichols. And I
thought maybe we would get some a nice Bill day
(36:50):
because Chris Rodriguez was inactive before the game. But he
looked great. He looked better than Eckler. So I think
that this is going to move move more towards Bill
Krosky Merritt moving forward. And if you drafted him late.
You snagged him on the cheap. You did a great job.
Divo was so good too, man. Debo ten targets, seven catches,
(37:13):
seventy seven yards, also had the rush for a touchdown
and you know, look they got rid of b Rob.
I thought that was kind of crazy because I thought,
you know, what do you have. You have a slow
back in c Rod, you have an okay guy and McNichols,
and then you have two pass catchers. But Bill is
proving to be way more than a pass catcher right now.
So he looks very strong. So and Debo working in
(37:35):
this run game as well, like they're figuring it out
and it worked today. I think the Giants defense is
pretty good, but their offense might be just as bad
as their defense is.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Good.
Speaker 4 (37:43):
Man, this was awful, dude, say twenty miss passes for
Russ seventeen of thirty seven for one hundred and sixty
eight yards, ran for forty four. But he has to
be better. This was pathetic. So we're going to see
a change of quarterback real quick. If Russell Wilson does
not get this straightened out next week, I would assume
(38:05):
you gotta have a plan to put somebody else in Tracy.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
He had fifty of sixty eight snaps.
Speaker 4 (38:12):
Singletary and Scataboo got nothing, which is kind of what
we thought when Skataboo missed a bunch of camp with
the groin thing, he was going to be behind to
start the year.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
I gotta say, though Skataboo looked so good in pass blocking,
he absolutely pancakes someone, and even the couple times that
he caught the ball out of the backfield, he leveled
a few players. So like, I'm still holding on to Skataboo.
I'm not dropping him in any leagues, are you?
Speaker 2 (38:34):
No?
Speaker 4 (38:35):
Absolutely not so no, I'm not going to the wire
and dropping Skataboo. Singletary got nothing here. If you were
rushing him, even it deeply go, I think he can go.
The weird thing was Slayton played the most snaps and
didn't see a reception in this game. It was all
neighbors in wan Dale. But I mean, with only what
was that thirteen seventeen completions, I guess it's not that surprising.
(38:58):
I saw about fourteen balls bounce off with THEO Johnson's hands.
What's up with your boys, Seth, Dude can't catch the ball.
He's got flying panhands.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
Good God.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
Yeah, so Ertz caught the touchdown. I'm not too worried
about Terry McLaurin quite yet, but Deebo looked real good.
He's gonna take a little steam away and so so
did Crossky Merit. But the fourteen points, I think this
was just a nice defensive game that Washington came out
on the side of because Russ couldn't do anything.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
Yep, good day to be on the underfits. And I
gave that one out on the Betting Pros YouTube live
stream this morning. So excited about that one. Shout out
to a couple of new followers here, Bear of Flux,
t Savage and Cheeky. Thank you guys so much. We
really really appreciate that. And it was a game that
came down to kicking as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They
(39:46):
beat the Atlanta Falcons twenty three to twenty no turnovers
for either team. Pretty clean game. Really kind of turned
into a field position battle who had the ball last
late in that one. A Mecca Buca got his career
off to a great start two touchdowns in his day.
Mike Evans found double digit fantasy points in a very
tough matchup against cornerback aj Terrell as did Bucky Irving. Meanwhile,
(40:07):
the Falcons, they finally did it bogg and they finally
got the usage we wanted for their skill position players.
Man Vijon largely ineffective on the ground, but he did
take six receptions for one hundred yards and a touchdown.
Kyle Pitts he had eight targets for seven receptions fifty
nine yards and yes, seventeen or fifteen targets excuse me
for Drake Lennon fifteen. So are you encouraged by what
(40:30):
you saw out of both the Buccaneers and Falcons offensive pieces? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (40:34):
I mean, how could he not be? Right?
Speaker 4 (40:36):
Like, this is what we wanted for Bajon, for Drake,
for Pits, and it's happening right now, almost three hundred
yards passing. Like you said, they couldn't really run, nobody
could run. Tyler Eljier didn't have a good day running
two point four yards per carry less for Bajon, but
he made his place in space, which is exactly what
you want. Like I mentioned before, Casey Washington led this
(40:57):
team in wide receiver snaps and routes two seventy six naps,
forty six routes for him. London sixty seven and seventy
six obviously heard a shoulder at the end, but Ray
Ray was behind, but obviously had more catches than Washington,
but Washington had more targets. So, like I said, if
London misses Casey, Washington might be a little bit interesting,
(41:17):
That's all. But I mean, let's talk to big story here.
Seth a mecca Agbuka with a big breakout game.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
Man.
Speaker 4 (41:24):
I thought maybe it would take a little bit for
him to get ramped up and rare to go and
all that stuff. But with Mike Evans being tailed by
trell as you mentioned, it was this was a great game.
And I mean Mayfield missed that one by just the
slightest of margins to be a pick that ended up
for a touchdown. But man, Eggbuka was routing those dudes
(41:48):
up pits.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
Look good.
Speaker 4 (41:50):
This was this is the opposite of the Washington and
the Giants game. Everything looked pretty positive here for the
most part, outside of maybe Kate Atton not getting some
catches and Drake London being.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
He was banked up a little bit this week.
Speaker 4 (42:01):
Auden was, Yeah, like Bucky, Bucky wasn't great, but he
still caught a touchdown. Yeah, I think everything else is
pretty solid.
Speaker 1 (42:11):
Yeah, I'm very very happy.
Speaker 3 (42:13):
Man.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
The only thing I'm like upset about with a Mecca
Buca is I drafted him so much in Best Ball,
in early redraft, in Dynasty, but when it got to
like the late redraft leagues, I just didn't have a
shot at and he was going fifth, sixth round at times.
So yeah, people knew, people caught on. But definitely I
saw someone in the chat saying, like one of the
best rookie wide receiver performance we've seen here Beef saying
(42:36):
a Mecca might be him. For once, the rookie hype
paid off for a week one. It absolutely did, My friend,
thanks so much for hanging out with us. Let's move
forward here where. Even after playing their starters in the preseason,
the Cincinnati Bengals failed to cover beating the Cleveland Browns
seventeen to sixteen. Super sluggish start for Cincy here Man
two point nine yards per play. As far as the
(42:57):
efficiency metrics that I've dove into so far, to night Bogs,
that's the worst on the slate. Their line absolutely cheeks.
I mean it is terrible. Their defense could not get
off the field that this led to just one hundred
and thirteen yards passing from Joe Burrow. Terrible games for
just about everyone but Chase Brown, who had a ton
of volume, bad efficiency, you know, got in the end zone,
(43:18):
caught a couple passes, saved his days. Meanwhile, man, the Browns,
really good outings for rookies Dylan Sampson, Harold fannin junior,
the talented tight end from the mac Baby Bowling Green,
really really good stuff from them. Third year wide receiver
Sedger Tillman caught a touchdown. But Boggs, I do want
to start with the Cincinnati Bengals because every year it
(43:38):
feels like it's just a rinse and repeat that they're
going to be better days ahead for the Bengals offensive players.
This defense is bad, but is it so bad to
the point where they're not going to be able to
get off the field and the Bengals aren't gonna get
as many drives as we'd like that these players we
took in the first two rounds of drafts end up
not returning value.
Speaker 4 (43:57):
Man, Yeah, I had Burrow as my number one quarter
back this week up against the Browns. I thought they
were gonna be in a nice shootout here with the Browns.
But you said it absolutely correct, like the defense could
not get on the field. The time of possession was
thirty five forty nine to twenty four to eleven in
this game in favor of the Browns, whose offense is
(44:18):
not great, right, like it shouldn't be good. It was
great today. They had the ball the whole game, but
that old line looked terrible. They couldn't stop anything. It
seemed like every third down Joe Flacco had a completion
on and I mean thirty one or forty five, two
hundred and ninety yards a touchdown. The two picks obviously
sank them, but Dylan Samson looked good. Twelve of twenty
(44:40):
nine six target or eight targets and eight catches for
sixty four to Ford didn't get much. Ford led in snaps,
but Samson was getting all the touches, and Rocket Sanders
took the goal line snaps well.
Speaker 1 (44:54):
So if you remember too, in that game, Sampson gone
to the end zone and he got called back and
then they put in Rocket Sanders. Of course, so I
don't want to overreact to that, but your voy rocks.
Speaker 2 (45:07):
But he got three carries Rucket got three.
Speaker 4 (45:10):
Yeah, nobody else got another goal line carry, so and
I think that was probably you know, Judkins was going
to be the main back here before all that off
the field stuff happened.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
So but yeah, you're right, Fannon is the guy to
talk about here.
Speaker 4 (45:22):
Nine targets, seven catches, sixty three yards. I mean in
Djoku ran more routes forty one, but there were thirty
two routes on this field for Fannin today. Now, look
they held the ball for thirty five minutes. That's a
big chunk.
Speaker 5 (45:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (45:34):
I don't think he's gonna have that every single week,
but if he keeps performing like this. This was my
worry for in Djoku because we've already seen the Browns
do this to in Joku before. Fannon is a he
is a big slot more than he is a tight end. Right,
He's a move piece. He's not gonna be on the line.
He's not gonna be in line snapping and blocking. They're
(45:54):
gonna have in Djoku do that if Fannin is the
third receiver year. So a little worried about in Djoku
because of how good Fanning was specifically Week one, we've
seen the Bengals have terrible week ones before. I believe
last year they lost New England. So let's hope they
can regroup and get this offense firing. But this was
a pathetic showing in Week one, terrible showing against a rough,
(46:19):
a team that is expected to be rough in Cleveland.
They look good, they could have. They should have won
this game, and Cincinnati somehow stole it from them. But yeah,
it did not look great for the since the offense
that we're expecting a ton from. But I expected to
get way better next week.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
Yeah. Man, I'm so mad at myself for betting them
ats today, Like I was on it that week, got
team total, so I pulled off and then I again
went right back. I always considered the team total too.
I wanted some piece of this and I just man, yeah,
they really laid an egg once again. But things better
days ahead. Don't panic if you have Chase. I know
a lot of people I'm seeing the comments come in.
(46:55):
They're upset with him, They're up south, thee Higgins and
Joe Burrow. Better days are ahead, and I'm with you
on fan and man, I've known Najoku exposure all across
all my leagues, even in best ball just because I mean, dude, guys,
do yourself a favorite. After the show, go look up
Harrold Fan and Junior's college stats from twenty twenty four.
Speaker 2 (47:15):
He set the record for tight end receptions, yards and touchdowns.
Last year he was awesome.
Speaker 1 (47:19):
Yeah, even even against the big teams, the Texas A
and M's the Penn States, the guy could not be stopped.
And I think he's proving once again why he is
the pride of Can't Ohio Baby. So shout to Harold
Fan and Junior Dylan Sampson. Is he a guy? Like,
what are we thinking? Where are we ranking him next week?
Top thirty six guy? Probably with the eight seasons.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
He has to be a top thirty six rbat until.
Speaker 1 (47:42):
Judkins is until Judkins is like fully ripping, yeah.
Speaker 4 (47:45):
Or until Ford has a good game, because Ford did
have more snaps than him and all that. But they
gave the ball to Sampson and he looked good. So
and like I said, I think when you draft Judkins
and Sampson the same last year, saying four is not
our guy. So I think Sampson is going to be
the guy they want to use moving forward.
Speaker 1 (48:05):
Let's go ahead and round out the one o'clock slate
with the Las Vegas Raiders beating the Elements and the
New England Patriots twenty to thirteen. Pretty questionable usage of
the Raiders playmakers in the first half on my guy,
Chip Kelly ak Schipper, But Gino smith Man he was
excellent considering this weather. Twenty four of thirty four three
hundred and sixty two yards won an interception and a touchdown.
(48:28):
Drake may Man, he threw the ball forty six times.
I don't think any of us were expecting that. That
led to some big games from the likes of Kaishaan
Boody's still sticking around, Helenter Henry and Stefan Diggs, who
are the fancy football winners and losers of a Raiders
versus Patriots bugs.
Speaker 4 (48:43):
Yeah, I mean, I think the first thing we need
to talk about here is the Patriots slow rolling Trebon
eleven touches in this game, ten for Stevenson, but it
was not an even split on the field forty six
snaps for Stevenson to twenty five for so I think
that's going to change pretty quickly. But you know, rookies
(49:04):
get slow rolled sometimes, so I think Henderson just he
needs to have a big day, and they're gonna start
going to him more and more. So, uh, again, we're
not hitting the panic button, but it is closer. It's
fifty to fifteen touches, but way more snaps right now
for Stevens and so it's like a sixty forty I
would say, usually how.
Speaker 1 (49:23):
It starts for rookie running back though, right, and and
the main thing I care about though, it's the six
targets and the six receptions, Like he's going to have
a floor every single week. Brighter days are ahead. I
think if someone's panicked on Henderson, if they you know,
spent up a fourth early fifth, you know, I even
saw him go sometimes at the turn there in the
third fourth round, So if they spent up in their panicking,
(49:43):
I'm buying. I'm buying absolutely.
Speaker 4 (49:46):
Yeah, yeah, me too. And then the Patriots wide receiver rotation,
so yeah, break that down.
Speaker 2 (49:52):
So was here. I'll just give you snaps and targets
right all right. I don't have targets.
Speaker 4 (49:56):
I have snaps fifty eight for boute h five for
Pop Douglass, thirty nine for digs, and eight for Kyle Williams. So, uh,
those are your three those three, and Hunter Henry had
a good day too, so but those are your three.
It's boute, Diggs and Douglas are your three. And Kyle
Williams just is gonna have to wait for an injury
(50:18):
or earn his way through practice to make it on
the field here. But Hunter Henry look good another guy
if you're losing. Kittle, very viable. Eight targets for him
in this game, and I think he's gonna be one
of their tops moving forward. Trick may look good. Touchdown
at a pick ran for a couple of yards as well, so.
Speaker 1 (50:37):
That on most weeks you think for you, I yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (50:40):
Like right on the borderline at least, you know, as
long as these pass catchers can do something for him,
I think he's gonna be okay. But lots of passes
for Gino on the other side and Genti, you know,
not the best game, twenty one touches, but he did
get in the end zone, so that was nice kind
of salvage to stay there. Jacoby by far leader in targets,
(51:02):
ten targets, eight catches, ninety seven yards. But Tucker with
the big touchdown, like this offense is just gonna be
a little more efficient with Gino than it was with
Aidan O'Connell. And you know the ghost of whoever last
year was miserable in Vegas last year?
Speaker 1 (51:16):
Are you picking up Boute or Douglas if they're on
the wire right now where it's kind of a one
game thing. I mean, we got to keep in mind though,
like like Drake May is not gonna throw it forty
six times per game. I don't know why he threw
that much in this game. To be honest with you,
that was the tight game.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
It was weird. But let me ask you this, would
you rather have Bote or Cooper Cup?
Speaker 1 (51:37):
Cooper Cup? For sure, they got rather.
Speaker 4 (51:39):
Have Bote right now, for sure, for sure, I said,
I think, But I mean Cooper Cup still led in
snaps and routes. But JSN got all the targets in
that game, thirteen targets for him, So I can't We'll
get to that game in a second, but I'm just
thinking out loud of like who you would be dropping
to pick these guys up.
Speaker 2 (51:56):
I think that's kind of a good example right there.
Speaker 1 (51:59):
Yeah, I can't get there yet. I need to see
a little bit. But honestly, like Boute was a guy
last year if you were in a deep sixteen team
league or so, I was sending him out in the
flex occasionally, so you know it could be worse. He
could do worse there. Let's move to four o'clock slate,
though Bogs, where the forty nine Ers they pull one
out late. The Seahawks were driving on them. It looked
(52:19):
like they're gonna get done. But the forty nine Ers
do win seventeen to thirteen in Seattle. Big games from
Christian McCaffrey. You know, everyone, we were all worried about it.
Man right, and he saw thirty two touches. Today Deepak
says it's wheels up for now, still an injury risk.
Not the best day for Brock Party in company. But
you know, he did lose George Kitto, he did lose
Shawan Jennings, and Ricky pier saw only seven targets, but
(52:43):
he made the most of them, four for one oh eight.
So let's start with San Francisco. Are you all the
way in on piersol still? Are you even higher on?
Speaker 3 (52:51):
Like?
Speaker 1 (52:51):
Were we thinking like top twenty five?
Speaker 4 (52:53):
Guy?
Speaker 1 (52:53):
Rest of the way.
Speaker 4 (52:54):
I mean, Kittle's gonna have to miss time. I was
this is another one, I'm like, all right, well, let's
you know, I think it's gonna be kittle. I think
they're going to be running the ball a lot. CMC
is healthy, he's gonna get a lot of carrieres.
Speaker 2 (53:06):
No it was. It was pearsal.
Speaker 4 (53:07):
It's a piercing uh four for one oh eight on
seven targets. But yeah, I think I think he's going
to be on that wide receiver two borderline probably right now,
with lots and lots of room to move up. So
but in this one, JSN, the solo act here, that
was the big thing to take away from me. That
and obviously Walker and sharbon A, like, what is going
(53:29):
on there?
Speaker 2 (53:30):
I'm looking.
Speaker 4 (53:31):
I'm gonna tell you the snap counts right now, pulling
it up, it was thirty with eleven routes run for
sharbon A and twenty one with nine routes run for Walker.
So maybe you know, Walker's got an injury history, banged
up a camp a little. Maybe they're just slow rolling
him a little bit. But that's definitely at least way
(53:52):
more even than we thought, if not more.
Speaker 2 (53:54):
Charbona.
Speaker 4 (53:54):
This is Kobiak, a new OC coming in, so things
are changing there. JSN just run a lot of one
wide receiver looks even though KUP had more, you know, looks,
he just ten more targets to JASN. JSN is getting
open with anybody else. I did like to see Tory Horton,
but going back to CMC Sethie fifty eight snaps of
(54:18):
seventy six and.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
Be Rob got eighteen.
Speaker 4 (54:22):
Now, look, b Rob just got there right, and the
other backs are hurt. So I don't know that this
is going to keep happening, but I don't like it
for CMC's future if it does keep happening, which is
what has always happened under Kyle Shanahan, is he says
he's gonna ratch him back, he never does, and then
he gets hurt. So big game Week one they won barely,
(54:44):
but lots of usage for CMC, so you know, you're
you're riding the wave again just to see if he's
gonna make it. And I'm not very confident.
Speaker 1 (54:56):
Yeah, honestly, Like I don't want to be that guy.
But if you have CMC, and like, depending what your
risk tolerance is in fantasy, like if Christian McCaffrey's healthy,
he's probably gonna be like the RB one to three
rest of the way. But there's a solid chance, as
Deepak tolls at the top of show, that he gets hurt,
and I just can't deal with that. So I think
I would be using this as a cell high window.
(55:17):
And I do want to talk about JSN Man, because
you absolutely hit hit the hammer on the nail man right,
like this is you know. Andrew Cooper from our friend
over at Fantasy Laren put out a tweet a couple
weeks ago Boggman and he looked at like the Vegas
over unders for targets and JSN was like top ten
in that list, and like it really goes to show
that like he was undervalued in drafts. Man, I had
(55:40):
him as my wide receiver eleven in my draft rankings.
I don't know where you had him, but I think
a lot of people were too low on this guy
because thirteen targets, man, Like this is what he does.
I mean, nine for one twenty four. I think that
was pretty impressive and maybe not what we all saw
coming the average chef. The target was pretty nice, a
little bit better than it's been in the past with
some of the older offensive coordinators. Blake is JSN a
(56:02):
wide receiver one moving forward the rest of the way.
Speaker 4 (56:05):
He's at least a top fifteen wide receiver, if not
a wide receiver one. Yeah, he's got he's got to
stay in that bucket. He definitely has a chance to
move up. We'll see, Like Darnold look decent today, We'll
see if he keeps looking that good. I kind of
doubt it. But JSN is by far going to be
the leader in targets for Seattle. He's the main guy,
(56:25):
and I're gonna run a lot of those one wide
receiver sets. And he's just by just in terms of skill,
so far ahead of everybody else that he's just he's
going to be the guy that sees the ball way
more than anybody else.
Speaker 1 (56:38):
AJ Brown or JSN.
Speaker 4 (56:42):
I think A. J. Brown was hurt. I'm still going
AJ Brown. It's a better offense. Wow, Lad, it can't
just slightly, just slightly?
Speaker 1 (56:52):
What is Keenan Allen there? Dude, he's not going to
get nearly the amount of volume. A right, dude, Keenan,
I'll look great. Get get out of there. Don't throw
shaite on Keenan Allen.
Speaker 4 (57:02):
Man, Okay, Keen Allen's old. Anybody goes it him A
bunch of times, so I guess, yeah, look, I just
he's in that mix. He's in that group for sure.
Maybe put him on the bottom of it just because
they're a run first team, that's all.
Speaker 1 (57:15):
Yeah. I'm seeing some questions get coming in the chat.
We'll try to get to those rapid fire style at
the end there. Thank you guys so much for dropping
those to us. A lot of people tuning in so
hard to get to everything, but we will try our
greatest and if we don't get to your questions. One
way you can contact us is by joining our Fantasy
Pros Discord community. You can chat with other fans and

(57:38):
our podcast feed. Our current schedule looks like this worm

eastern on the third Tuesday of every month, and then
well Shan Erickson Thursdays at too Eastern as well. So
come get your questions answered and be on the show
at fanasypros dot com slash chat. All right, a couple
more games to get to, starting with the Tennessee Tight
(58:00):
at the Denver Broncos cam Wod looked fine in this
one in his debut. I thought, despite the you know,
really really good Denver Broncos defense, you know, poor efficiency form,
the numbers don't look good, but I thought he handled
himself well. Twenty to twelve for the Broncos. What are
your fantasy takeaways on this one? And why is everyone
just dropping Tony Pollard in the chat? Like? Is everyone
(58:21):
that upset with Tony Pollard? I't think it was. It
was inefficient, right, Like, it wasn't the most efficient, and
I think we would have liked see a little more
in the pass catching game. But yeah, I mean hat.
Speaker 4 (58:31):
Well, he fumbled, so if if you have negatives for
fumbling and he didn't score, then you probably didn't get
many points from Tony Pollard. But look, he had nineteen touches.
Julius Chesson had two carries. So Tony Poller is still
the guy here. It's just ran up again defensive silo. Yeah,
for sure, cam Ward, I'm going to disagree with you, Seth.
Speaker 2 (58:52):
He did not look good.
Speaker 4 (58:53):
Now, look, Denver is a tough test on the road
for your first NFL start, But this is why I
bet on the Broncos. Twelve of twenty eight for one
hundred and twelve yards and sacks six times. That is,
brutally held the ball too long.
Speaker 1 (59:09):
You had a couple of big plays called back I
will I did. I'm not trying to be the Camboard
apologists here, but no.
Speaker 4 (59:14):
No, I love cam Moreton and I think he's gonna
be really good this year. But this was just this
is why Denver was my survivor pick is because they
could not move the football against this Denver defense. Denver
probably as the best defense in the league, and it
wound up with sixty two yards passing and seventy one
rushing yards for the Titans for a grand total of
(59:35):
one hundred and thirty three yards in this game. I
think if the Broncos were playing anybody else, they would
have lost this game. With the turnovers that they had,
this was not a good game. Bo Knicks had two.
They lost the fumble on the punt from Mims. There
was another fumble in there, I think also from Knicks.
Three turnovers from Knicks in this game. They did not
look good, but they did enough to win. Harvey looked
(59:58):
better than Dobbins.
Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
Talk about that.
Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
Yeah, let's talk about this six for sixty sixteen for
sixty three and one for Dobbins on the ground and
then six for seventy. As you said, Harvey, So we've
had a lot of discourse on the Fantasy Pros YouTube
channel on the podcast this year about RJ Harvey. We
know that Derek Brown, I think he's actually related to
him at this point. I think he just filed to
adopt r J Harvey. So with that said, Bogs like,
(01:00:23):
is it just gonna take time for RJ Harvey to
overcome Dobbins or does he never was? Based on what
we saw in week one, I.
Speaker 4 (01:00:29):
Think it's just gonna take time because I do like
Dobbins looked better between the tackles for sure, but the
the snap difference was pretty decent forty for Dobbins, twenty
two for Harvey. So it's gonna take a little bit
moving forward. But this was just this is a weird,
ugly game. You don't want Bonick to do on the
ball forty times, right, like, especially when he looks like
(01:00:52):
that and he's throwing a couple of picks and he
fumbled as well. So I think this was just a
weird start for Denver. But I'm Harvey with only seven
touches is concerning, but I think they're gonna have the
ball more against most teams, and I think things are
gonna move better for him moving forward. I'm not looking
to do anything with Harvey right now outside of if
(01:01:14):
you want to bench him, that's fine. But when you
take a rookie running back in the draft, you have
to They're all conditional. You have to get another running
back soon to start early in the season. So hopefully
you've done that.
Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
Harvey or Pollard rest of the season. They were going
right next to each other in drafts pretty much.
Speaker 2 (01:01:31):
Yeah, I think I still want Harvey. I think the
upside for that offense.
Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
Is okay, okay, all right, let's keep it moving here.
Detroit Lions thirteen, Green Bay Packers twenty seven get it
done in Lambeau in the Michael Parson's debut. Just all around,
I would say solid game for the Packers. Like you
look at the box score, nothing's gonna stick out. But
I thought Jordan Love was just so efficient in this game.
We saw Jane Reed make a couple of big plays.
(01:01:57):
Everyone left him for dad going in the like I
got him in like a twelve thirteen rounds of drafts
in a couple of redrafts this year. Bogman slow out
of the gates for Matthew Golden, but Josh Jacobs did
what he needed to do. Let's start with the Packers first.
What did you like? Who's the fantasy winners and losers?
If anyone? Because I don't see a lot of changing
really other than I think Romeo Dobbs, as Debro would say,
(01:02:18):
adjust the ranks on him.
Speaker 4 (01:02:20):
Yeah, I think you're kind of coming in a little
crackley there against Seth. But I will jump into this
game as you kind of reset. But Jordan loves sixteen
to twenty two, one hundred and eighty eight yards and
two touchdowns. So just okay, right, that's fine. We'll take
the two touchdowns. Obviously, Matthew Golden not great in this game.
Dobbs with a big catch, but no one for the
Packers had more than three catches. Jayden Reid had a touchdown,
(01:02:42):
Tucker Craft had a touchdown. This was a Josh Jacobs
some played defense game nineteen for sixty six in a
score and as Seth mentioned, the time of possession was
extremely lopsided in this game. Because Green Bay thirty five
twenty four to thirty five to thirty five to twenty
five for Detroit.
Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
So Sjared Goff, he's an indoor cat. We all know that.
Speaker 4 (01:03:03):
Not a terrible game from him, But thirty one to
thirty nine, two twenty five, a touchdown and a pick
Montgomery and they just couldn't get anything. Like Green Bay's
defense is going to be a tough match. I feel
like for most of this season. Seth eleven for twenty five,
two point three yards for Monty, two point one for Gibbs. Obviously,
Gibbs added with ten catches. So if you're in PPR,
(01:03:24):
you have no issues with Gibbs day, right, you don't
have many issues with Gibbs day. But if you are
in a regular league, you're like, oh my god, this
guy got me five points for my third overall pick.
So better days are are coming for Detroit. They're not
gonna have to play Green Bay every single day. But Jamo,
you know, Amanra didn't do much either, Like Laporta was
(01:03:46):
the best receiver in this game for the Lions. So
I just think this was the Lions running into a
really good defense that was ready to go Week one,
and all they could do is complete short passes. And
they took what Green Bay gave them, and that just
wasn't enough to come away with a win here, and
really to come away with anything great for your fantasy
team either.
Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
Look, I hate to be this guy, but I am
panicking a little bit on a Monra. And like, I
don't say I'm panicking myself because I don't have any
Monro because I was lower on him than consensus. I
him closer to wide receiver ten overall in my draft
Frankings Bogs, and like, I am worried because this was
a really gettable Like, I get it's a good upfront
(01:04:27):
front seven for green Bay, but dude, this secondary is cheeks.
Speaker 3 (01:04:31):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:04:31):
This secondary, I think Seth froze up again. I look,
I understand panic on a Manra, right, but I think
when the player is as good as a Manra, I understand,
Jamison just got an extension, right, Tesla caught that touchdown,
He looked great, But I think I think when you
face a worse offense than the Lions, you're just gonna
(01:04:53):
see a much much better day moving forward for a Manra.
So if you if you I want to listen, I'm
okay with that, but I'm just not gonna do anything
with a manra as it stands right now.
Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
I guess I.
Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
Should probably just jump to the next game while Seth
figures out his internet here we didn't, Let's go to
I think it's the last game. It's Houston nine the
Rams fourteen. In this one, Matt Stafford twenty one and
twenty nine two hundred and forty six yards and a
touchdown Kyron eighteen for sixty six in a score. I
(01:05:30):
just jumped into the Rams in Houston game here, Seth,
you want to fire it off there?
Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
Yeah? Absolutely so. I don't know how far you got
into this one just starting, so okay, just yell it
from the top fourteen Rams nine to the Houston Texans.
This was another one where I think we're all, you know,
I don't want to say over hyping what we were
expecting in week one from a lot of these offenses,
but I mean there's a lot of changing here, right.
(01:05:55):
Davontae Abas didn't get a ton of time in training
camp with Matthew Stafford, and at the same time, too,
Bogman like the Houston receiving room kind of diminished a
little bit with injuries. Jalen Nole had his first start here.
New running backs coming in in lieu of Joe Mixon
as well, So like, I'm not overly concerned by anything here.
What were your takeaways? I mean, huge day for Puka.
(01:06:17):
I think anyone who got Puka end of the first
early second you got to be thrown with ten for
one thirty. Devontae Adams, you know, did what I think
we thought he would maybe doing here, four for fifty one.
So what are your overall takeaways? Any big fantasy winners
and losers for you? Because for me, it's just Puka
continues to go up the rest of the season ranks.
Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Yeah, so much for Kyrone Williams getting split right like
or any pressure from Blake Korm or dark Quest Hunter.
Speaker 1 (01:06:43):
I think something happened to jar Quest. I think you
might have got hurt on special teams or something, but
still it doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
It was all Kyron eighteen for sixty six in a score.
Also the catch, I mean, just a great game for him, Puka,
like you and Pooka went out like he took one
to the dome early and cut his his head and
had to like he had to leave and then come back.
Speaker 2 (01:07:04):
It was a weird thing.
Speaker 4 (01:07:05):
But eleven for ten for one hundred and thirty for
him and nothing changes there for Puca, So wheels up.
You know, there was a little like to me, I
was like, where do we go? Because Davante was I
believe third or fourth in first reads and Puca was first.
So it was like, well, somebody's losing heir, right and
right now it seems to be Davante a little bit.
(01:07:28):
But on the Houston side, I think you're concerned because,
as you said, like, I'm not gonna panic about Nico
having a subpar day. You know, Nick Chubb was just
okay with the sixty yards and nothing in the receiving game.
I don't like that at all.
Speaker 1 (01:07:43):
But they got to off the field now after that,
like it's gonna be hard to trust him and Damian Pierce,
who gave you like an absolute nothing burger.
Speaker 4 (01:07:52):
I mean, the O line was the worst part here
and that is not fixable immediately. So it depends on
what's gonna happen with these injuries. I believe they had
their center hurt and their guard hurt right tackle, maybe
two offensive linemen out for a line that looked miserable
all day. I guarantee you once we get like PFF
(01:08:13):
grades and stuff, the Rams are gonna be low, low
low on the totem poles. So not too much to
do with Houston there. Like, I'm not panicking on Nico,
And I think, what do you think korm safely cutable?
If you're not just have you you just don't have
him for a handcuff.
Speaker 1 (01:08:32):
Yeah, cor right, Yeah, Koram wasn't even draftable in my opinion,
so yeah he should be on waivers like I I mean,
I'll roster what he marks over Koram honestly, and what
he marks his garbage.
Speaker 4 (01:08:42):
Yeah yeah, just not a lot, just not a ton
to pull away from a weird game here. I think
your initial thoughts are gonna still be okay if Nico. Look,
if Nico isn't good next week, we'll sound the alarm
a little bit here. Yeah, I don't. I don't think
that's going to be the case in Houston.
Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
Nets.
Speaker 4 (01:09:02):
Next week they're on the road against the Bucks, so
I think they'll be able. I think they'll be able
to pass the ball as long as CJ. Strout can
get the ball out. That's the big thing here.
Speaker 1 (01:09:12):
Yeah, if the Lion can hold up man like I'm
not panicking because, like I just really think the Rams
they proved it down the stretch last year, man with
Jared Verse coming on that, like, this is a really
good defense and it's continued to get better. It's a
lot of young guys out there, so you know, you know,
would I like better than force point six yards per play? Sure?
But is it the Bengals bad down at like two
(01:09:32):
point six or whatever? They rock and know, so you know,
just hold on. I think that's like really the message
here tonight, Bogs. It's like there are a few players
I think we're both panicked on. We've said that, Like
I'm a little bit more panicked on a Monross Saint
Brown than I think other people. You're a little bit
panicked on a few players as well, But like more
than anything, like Week one is weird. It's always weird.
I don't know why it is. But even earlier in
(01:09:54):
the day, I thought, oh, we might get some points here,
and we did in a couple of games, our game
over there, the Steelers in Jets. But for the most
p our, you know, defense is usually ahead of the
offense as we start the regular season.
Speaker 4 (01:10:05):
Yeah, yeah, and that's just in you know you don't
want to hit the panic button, but you do want
to recognize some of these trends. So we tried to
figure out some of the things that we are actually
worried about in the things that we aren't. So there's
and it's eighty five fifteen not worried about things to
fifteen we actually are, guys.
Speaker 1 (01:10:24):
