Speaker 2 (01:33):
Welcome to a brand new episode of Three Rounds with
Daniel Cormier. Hey, it's been a minute. I've been training.
I'm fit, I'm ready. Dan Thomas has been traded. Dean
Thomas is fit and ready in him and I gonna fight,
and we got three rounds today. We're gonna go hard
and Dan Thomas got some answering to do, so let's

(01:54):
get to the fight.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
From experienced row one.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
My man Dean Thomas the other day was on the
podcast and he said this, We.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Got to understand that MMA is a star driven sport.
We have a star problem in the UFC, much less
the GFL than they were stars twenty ten years ago. Like,
how do they expect the fifty to fifty split revenue
and you don't even know what the revenue is going
to be get.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Under the CFL.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
It's like they gave him all this money and then
now they can't afford, apparently to pay the rest of
their fight stars they got Dakota to Cheva, who's a star.
I'm like, yo, if you guys like Mma, do this
for Mma, trader to the UFC. You know she belongs
in the UFC. Listen, get rid of bank Alive in
the UFC. Trader, Franklive, we don't.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Need he's not.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
This guy fit right in at the PFL. Another guy
that no one knows about. It's really good.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
D You're talking about the light heavyweight champion magamont on
Caliath and you're talking about Dakota who fights PFL. Dean,
it would take a blind man to know to not
know that you're looking at a star when you look

(03:10):
at the Chova.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
His name did a covid did Chova? Was her name?

Speaker 4 (03:13):
The Chovava?

Speaker 3 (03:16):
It would take a.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Blind man to not know that, uh, to not know
that you're looking at a star. But Dean, a UFC
light heavyweight champion. There has to be something that was
lost in translation when you made that statement.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Please tell me.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
That, all right, So first off, let me say this.
I've been saying this for two years. I said this
for I've been saying this for two years that they
needed to make that trade.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
About on Caliath.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Yes, when al cal was running around trying to get fights,
begging for fights, I said, trade his ass to the PFL,
where he can go win a million dollars. So that's
what I was saying. So the clip that we just
heard was actually a year ago.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Shut up, Dean.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
It was a year ago where he was still begging
for fights, and I was like, yo, just trade him
to the PFL, because he could make a million dollars there,
he'd win the tournament's.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
There and we could use Dakota. Now here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
So I went back. I went back after all this
thing blew up. I'm surprised they.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Conveniently brought it out now when he's defending, he's a.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Chance about the fighting, he's about to fight for a
world title, so forth, this is.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
The perfect time for them to bring it out now.
But I went back, and not only that, am I
doubling down. I'm trippling down, and I'm still saying that
it would be a better.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Treat balk Dean. Get out of here.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
D I am tried down Dakota di Cheva.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
She is fifteen and zero with an eighty percent knockout rate.
If you don't think that the UFC could make her
a star, a bigger one of the biggest stars in
all of MMA. A blond headed girl next door, a
pretty girl that has an eighty percent knockout rate. She
would be the biggest star in the UFC. They would

(04:58):
do with her the way they did Rondo. We probably Holm,
the way they try to.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Dean. You're going crazy. You're going crazy, dude, you said
Ronda rowse.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Yes, absolutely, absolutely, the way they tried, the way they
tried to market Sean O'Malley, because Sean Omalley was a
kid who no one thought could would be anything, and
he's out there knocking people out. The public loves that.
They love when you can take an unassuming looking person,
a person like the code who looks like the girl
next door. She's a pretty girl with an eighty percent

(05:33):
knockout rate. She would be a massive star.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
In the UFL.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
She gets to the UFC in the knockout, stop Dean.
Until she gets to the UFC in the level of competition.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
Maybe what makes you think the knockouts will stop?

Speaker 1 (05:47):
She maya Santos who arguably beat Valentina chef Chanks.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
She knocked her out.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
You know, MMA math does not work Dean, you know
that you know that worked?

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Doan? You know, no does work.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
The fact that you come up here with this bs, Dan,
and the fact that you're tripling.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
Down, Dean, tripling down on it.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
The competition level raises, and then the knockout stopped and
then you got another person. First off, don't ever say
Rond de Ralci again, because you couldn't recreate Ronde Ralci.
You can't recreate Connor McGregor. You can't do what you
did the first time again.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Did you know that?

Speaker 4 (06:23):
I know?

Speaker 1 (06:24):
So I'm making the analogy that she's a pretty girl
that has a finishing ability. She has a finishing ability. Yeah,
that analogy that they could create a star based on that.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
But Dean, you know how they always say you catch
lightning in a bottle. That happens once. There's only gonna
be ever one Rond de Ralci. Any, dude, If Valentina
Chef Tanko has not rolls to that level of stardom.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
No what will Because she's won as much as anybody
in the world, even Amanda bro when she was winning
all those fights. Never rolls to that level of stardom.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
But I'm telling you that I think Dakota Jakeva de
Cheva could I think she could have. I'm not sure
what happened now because the UFC probably will never get her,
but I'm still tripling.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Down on it, and I'm saying vagamunt on Calive, I'm
taking him.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Every day, all day. Give me a world champion male fighter.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
I don't care where he's from over someone that is
fighting in a different organization that we don't know that
it translates. But I think this young lady's phenomenal. I
just think that Dean Thomas has completely lost his mind
and this is.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Why we may get canceled. Wrong two Charles Olivera.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Dean was supposed to fight Ralfaiela's Eve in Brazil. I
was very very hard on the decision to do that.
After Charles got knocked out, fazebe falls off of the
fight card, Charles Olivera now needs an opponent. Mattis Gamrock
said he's ready to fight Charles o'lavera. Diego Lopez has

(08:01):
said he would go up and he would fight Charles o'lavera,
but Charles said he doesn't want Gamrock.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
He doesn't want a wrestler. He's been preparing for a striker,
but Dean. Charles also said earlier.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Don't buy into the idea that these guys are all
itching for a fight because they've been offered it and
they won't take it. If you're Charles Olavera, Dean, are
you in a position now where you just have to
take any fight? And if Mata's Gamerd is the guy, Mataz,
Gamerd is the guy. Even though Charles goes, I don't
really want to fight a wrestler.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
You gotta he got a double he got a back
down on that. He's got to back those statements.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
I mean, backcheck those statements, because after coming out and
criticizing the entire division for not stepping up, after he
said that he's got to accept whoever they put in
front of him, you can't make those statements and then
be like, nah, I don't want to fight this guy.
This is a guy who said he would fight you
and then and then he said yes, and now you

(08:57):
can't say no to him.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
That's bad then, and I love Charles, but that's bad, Dean.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
That's bad. You can't do that, Charles.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
You can't do that, Charles, you can't do it.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
I think that you gotta hope that Diego Lopez somehow
gets the call, because obviously Diego Lopez would not be
trying to take him down Gamrock, that's all he would
be trying to do.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Charles just said, Dean, it's bad.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
I'm not disagreeing, but Charles just said, I'd have to
change my entire game plan. I've been preparing for a
striker and physive to go and fight a guy like
Gamrock who's wrestling as much. I'd have to change everything,
and I don't really want to do that.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Well, the problem that he was like, it's not a
good look. He was telling all these guys it's not
a good look. With Charles, this is not a good look.
You can't criticize these guys for not accepting fights and
then you not accept the fight. Like, if you're gonna
preach it, you gotta practice it. So he gotta step
up and take this fight.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
He has to take the fight if that's the fight
that's offered. I believe there are some better options, though.
I think maybe you look at a Moi Kano, you look.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
At a Diego Lopez, because Diego Lopez has nothing to lose.
Here's the problem with the Diego Lopez fight. He just
had that big win at New Cha UFCM.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
So that dude's riding hot. Dude's riding hot.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
I would prefer Olivera to get a fight that is
more suited for him, a fight with someone who isn't
as dangerous to catch him because he got knocked out
so bad last time.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Look. I like the Moi Kano fight. I like the
idea of it because you got two.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Brazilians fighting in Rio dejon Niro and Charles is the
guy that the Brazilian people love, so you give him
an opportunity to have a great moment. But what you
do know about gamright is GAMAI doesn't have the massive power,
So you know you run the risk or less of
a risk of getting out.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
And you're Charles Olavera, I mean takes you all. He's
in more danger than he ever could have imagined.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Take to fight, Charles, Take the fight. It's a perfect
fight for you. Now here's what I think that's gonna
have to happen. If he doesn't accept this fight, he
might have to fight somebody at a catchweight. Now I
know the UFC doesn't like to do catchweights, but it
might have to happen because I'm not sure that there's
many guys, and that's probably the reason why most of
these guys won't accept the fighters, because they don't want

(11:28):
to have to cut all the way down to one
fifty five where Conno probably can't make fifty five on
such short notice, so that he's gonna have to fight
him at a catchweight.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
If that's the case, you gotta take that fight then.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
But that's what he was complaining about before, was the
fact that he would these guys didn't work in this
scept to fight because of probably the catchweight. So at
some level, Charles Olivera is going to have to concede
to one of the ideas.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Yeah, he'll have to concede to something.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
But at the end of the day, I still believe
that regardless of what fight it is, it's less dangerous
than the Physia fight, right, because the Physia fight in
this moment is very dangerous for him. But I gotta
be honest, man, we got I'm so done doubting Charles Olivera.
I've seen him time and time again just beat people

(12:14):
in situations that he wasn't supposed to win. I've seen
Charles Olivera elevate himself to become a world champion when
no one.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
Thought that was possible.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
I've seen Charles Olivera overcome and become a real star
in mixed martial arts, so I believe that regardless of
who it is, it's a mussy event because of who du.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Bronx is, But Charles take the fight round three. Dino
hey man.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
I first off, after watching Bud fight Canelo, which was
a good fight, I realize more and more that MMA
is just.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
A much fun er sport.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
I know we didn't have the name recognition on No
ch UFC, but I just had a much better time
watching the MMA fights of polls to the boxing fights,
and that was one of the best fights that we
could have had in terms of the two stars in
their primes relatively and on the biggest moments. And it

(13:22):
wasn't a boring fight, but MMA was just much more
fun so at times the boxing gets ridiculous. Jervonte Davis
is fighting Jake Paul yesterday they had their first press conference.
One of the most recognizable things is Jake Paul is
huge compared to Jervonte Davis and two Jervonte Davis don't

(13:47):
even know the way they fight d.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
DC.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
I watched this and we have our priorities way misplaced
when we're talking about boxing, Like everybody's complaining about this,
ALI acting like how something like this allowed to happen?
How how is Jake Paul allowed to fight Javonte Davis.
It's a little completely unfair. It is completely just. It's

(14:12):
I don't I can't say the word that I want
to say because I don't want to get canceled. But
this fight should not be happening. And the press conference
was embarrassing. Javonte Davis should not have a mic in
front of him. It was absolutely embarrassing watching this thing.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
See why why?

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Just the fact that like every time when when Jake
Paul would say something to Javonte Davis, he didn't know
how to answer it. He was he was comparing himself
to like p didiot moments and I was like, oh
my god, get the get a mic away from this guy.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
This fight shouldn't be happening. And then he didn't even
know what weight they were fighting.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
I thought it was that was the craziest thing.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
That was the thing that stood out to me the
most was that when they go the rehydration limit or
something is one ninety five and you go weight. I
thought it was one ninety Dan. That's bad because you
know what that tells me. That tells me that even
he recognizes that he's too big for him. He recognizes

(15:12):
that he's too big for him.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
I'm wondering how this even came about it. It can't
be that Javonte Davis needs money.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
That can't be the reason.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
Why World Champions so recently. How could he be broke?

Speaker 4 (15:24):
That's what I'm saying, Like, is he doing this for money?
And then why?

Speaker 1 (15:27):
And how's even Jake Paul doing this when no one
respects it? Like I can't think of anybody that respects this.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
But Jake Paul has been able to carve out and
make his own lane in boxing, and I've never seen
anything like it. Bro he literally, I mean, we all
know what weight class he fights in any situation, we
just don't know.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
He kind of makes his own rules.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
He makes his own rules, and it.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Seems like people are playing by those rules. I remember
a couple of weeks ago to WBS seeing the uh
Suliman Jose Shuliman was very upset that he wasn't able
to put the belt on the winner at Canelo versus Crawford.
That's the thing that's happened since the beginning of time.
Those guys are very powerful in boxing, but with ZUFA boxing,
it was almost like that power was getting stripped away.

(16:16):
They were very disappointed. But how can you take those
sanctioning organizations seriously when they are sanctioning this.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
That's my point. That's my point.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
That's why I think that this whole thing that we have,
this boxing and this MMA argument and Zoofa getting into boxing,
our argument is misplaced because things like this should not
be happening, and the fact that boxing is allowing this
to happen is an embarrassment to the sport.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Yeah, I don't understand why I talked about this before,
Like I didn't know why they were fighting, because I mean,
Giontae Davis's last fight was at one.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
Hundred and thirty six pounds. Jake Paul seriously his last
fighter that fight.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
Was at one hundred and thirty six pounds. And we
know in DC, we know boxers don't.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Cut like MMA fighters.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
No, Bro, When I hear the boxing broadcast cut off
seven pounds yesterday, I'm like, bro, seven pounds.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
They said that about Canelo. They was like, Canelo put
on like ten pounds out like ten pounds.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
Bro, I know, dude, to put on.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Ten pounds the first hour after the weigh in.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Bro Pereira is two hundred and thirty eight pounds and
he's two weeks from the fight. I mean, come on, guys,
let's not make this happen. This is absolutely ridiculous. All right, guys,
we're extremely excited to announce our new partner and sponsor,

We talk about hardships, the good times, the bad times, relationships,
and so many other things. My first guest is none
other than Morob Dwallas Willie, the bantamweight champion in the world.
We spoke about his upbringing in Georgia, how he came
to the United States with nothing, didn't speak the language,
getting misguided by people in this country, ultimately finding a
home with Raylano and Team Sarah a Longo, and now

(19:48):
training in Las Vegas where he defends this championship next week.
Morob is fun Morob is funny. Morob also has a
great story. I will try to tell those stories. I'll
help the fighters, and not only fighters, athletes, people in
the public eye tell their stories to you so that
you can get to know them better. Don't miss the

(20:09):
