not slow you down.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
I am so like, I'm so like.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Messed up right now because of what I just saw
happen in a heavyweight title fight. The fight ended in
a no contest between Tom Asperna and Cyril Gond due
to an accidental ipull. This is only the second UFC
title fight in the thirty something year history of the
company to end end in ain't no contests. I mean

(02:37):
the arena was on fire. The stage was set for
something magical to happen. You had two guys that were
primed and ready to go and fight for the most
prestigious prize in all of fighting.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
As Miles tries to strike.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Back there and break stuff down, Liverpool got beat again.
Today's though it's like becoming the norm every quote by
reaction Liverpool's getting beat. But the stage was set for
something amazing to happen, and we got what was one
of the most anticlimactic finishes I've ever been a part of.

(03:11):
But what we got up to that point was amazing.
What we got to that point was very telling. What
we got to that point was we got the opportunity
to watch the two best heavyweights in the world fight
for the championship in the UFC. Right John Jones isn't here,
for instance, Ganho isn't here. The guys that we had

(03:33):
in there right now are the two best in the world,
and they fought like it. Cyril Gunn fought tonight like
we expected him to fight against John Jones. He defended
a takedown, he was landing as strikes and tom Aspinall
got his off two tom Asbnall was landing.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Tom Aspinall actually.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Seemed happy, smiling to be in there with someone that
was extending him and pushing him to a place that
he really hadn't been.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Look, man, Cyril Gon was there to fight.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
From the very start of this fight, you recognize that
Cyril wasn't gonna be on his bike like we have
seen him in some of his more recent fights. This
looked like the Cyril Gan that went to fight tied
to Ivasa, that went forward, took the center of the
octagon and started using his movement.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
To really give tom some problems.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
I know we didn't get to see the fight long,
but in what we saw, that was going to be
the toughest fight of tom Aspenhov's career.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
And I can say that very confidently.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Because I saw him with his face nose all bloody
from a jab of Cyril Gon, who landed it multiple
times over the course of that first round. I saw
tom Aspello on that let land some nasty stuff too.
I saw him landing some jabs of his own. I
saw him landing some kicks. I saw tom Asthnon throw
a high kick. I've never seen him throw a high kick,

(05:01):
and it's partly because he's never had to throw a
high kick. There are layers to these guys games that
we have to find only when they're fighting someone that
not only deserves to be in there with them, but
can extend them to a point where they have to
use all of their weapons. Tonight, Tom was kicking more,
he was trying to wrestle more. He was doing so

(05:23):
many things differently because he had to. Unfortunately, Sara Gan
seemed prepared for all of that, and he was fighting
better than we have seen him fight in a long time.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
A no contest and Heavway title fight feels like.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Something was left on the table, but it does open
up opportunities for us to get this on what might
even be a bigger stage. We could reschedule these guys
for January, the first big paramount card. If Tom Asmono
is okay, you put the Heavway title fight on there.
You want to start a new deal. That's how you
start a new deal. Just in the back, Cyril Goan

(06:02):
was very emotional. Guys who was crying because of a
missed opportunity. I spoke this coach, Fernan Lopez, which will
be at the end of the interview, so stick around,
and he shared his thoughts on what was happening, and
I will speak to Tom's coaches.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Also, I saw Tom aspinall.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
His right eye is covered in a bandage because he
cannot open it. Still, we're twenty minutes past the fight ending,
and what's crazy about that is his other eye was
the one where his hand went knuckle deep. The right
side was scraped down more. The left side was the
one that went knuckled deep and really would have been

(06:40):
hard to deal with if not for the paint he
was seen on the other side. Tom was very upset
that people were booing, and then people saw the replay
and we're like, wait a minute, maybe we should be
doing the other guy. Then they bowed Cyril Gan. But
Sarah was emotional. He wanted this fight. This was what
This fight was everything that these guys had asked for.
Hopefully we can reschedule this and get these dudes locked

(07:00):
in the octagon again to determine who's the baddest man
on the planet.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
They will both be better for it.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
I know they didn't spend a lot of time in
that octagon, but there were some things that you can
take from it, especially if the turnaround is relatively quick. Man,
what an ending you could have asked me for one
hundred endings. I don't know if I would have ever
came to that. A no contest in the very first round,
dude to ipokes unreal. Mackenzie Durham became the strangweight champion

(07:30):
in the world today beat Vena Janidoba three two, three
two in terms of rounds forty eight, forty seven, forty
eight forty seven and forty nine forty six. Four rounds
to one felt different because the other people scored it
three to two. Mackenzie won the fifth round, but forty
nine forty six didn't feel that bad to me. Jameidoba

(07:51):
had her moments, but Mackenzie Durham was the aggressor. While
she got taken down. She was the one that was
punching off of her back. She was the one still
trying to do damage. So it felt like the right
person one regardless of what the score said. Mackenzie Dern
is now a strongweight champion. She has had expectation pushed
on her from the moment she decided to fight mixed

(08:14):
martial arts, which by the way, didn't happen by her choice.
She was asked by Showing Shelby to fight mixed martial
arts and now she has taken that career and become
a world champion in the UFC, which is amazing when
you think about all of her accomplishments in jiu jitsu,
it really is amazing.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
What this young lady has accomplished.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
And then the moment she got with her daughter Moa
inside the oct and I was nuts. She has fought
a lot of times in the UFC now and she
has lost in the UFC, but she has never lost
in front of that little girl. That's her why. A
lot of fighters find their why, and when they do,
it's hard to beat them. Snay Mackenzie became a champ
in front of her daughter. She can't lose in front
of her why. Let's see how long she can do

(09:00):
that and maintain that championship. Umar and Omega Matalff got
beat by Mario Bautista and it was a much closer
fight than Umar expected. He even said it, I underestimated him,
but he.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Got the job done.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
He was able to take him down, he was able
to mix it up, he was able to do what
he intended to do and get a dove.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
But it was harder than expected.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
I said, Umar got beat No, I didn't well if
I said Umar got beat. Sorry guys, Umar and Mega
Madoff beat Mario Bautista today in the decision, in a
fight that was much harder than he thought it was
going to be.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
But ultimately I thought he looked pretty good man.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
He was able to land takedowns, he was able to control,
He was able to show that even on the night
when things aren't going exactly the way he planned for
them to go, he could push through it and make
things happen. I liked this postfight interview when he said
I tried to do what how BIB would do and
I don't understand and how we did it. He goes

(10:01):
after doing this tonight and not being able to control
in the way this man did.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
I felt like an amateur. Tonight was an eye opening
for me.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
And I think that that self reflection, that ability to
judge yourself that truthfully is going to help Umar and
Omega Metoff.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
As he goes forward in his career.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
He's looking to hopefully get another chance at the champion,
regardless of if this Piodrijana Marob Duwallas Willy and I
think tonight that win puts him going in that direction.
So hats off to Umar I know he was judging
himself pretty hard, but I thought he did pretty good.
Great job kid, Alexander Volkov beat j Elton Almeida guys.

(10:43):
Jai Elton Almeida scored takedown after takedown, bo he wasn't
able to get damage.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Off on Alexander Volkov.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
I said something about Jai eltzenel Meda this week when
I was speaking to Tom Asparalon, I I want to
apologize to Jiulton because I didn't mean that. I was
talking about how he's not necessarily fighting, he's grappling. Right,
it's a fight, and when you're in there, even though
you can secure takedowns, you have got to do damage.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
And I felt horrible about that with Gilt.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Because he's always been so respectful and so nice to me,
and I hope there comes a point where I can
make that up to him and making that joke almost
Sometimes you gotta be careful with what you say about people,
especially when you don't intend to offend them. With that
being said, though, I thought he lost that fight score takedowns,

(11:40):
but he didn't do much with those takedowns. In Volkov
was the one that was trying to do damage, and
ultimately that cost him. I think tonight was a big
tell and what judges are looking for today. There are
value and damage over everything regardless if you are on
your back, and that is exactly the way it's supposed
to be. Just takedowns will not be enough anymore these guys,

(12:00):
and that's amazing. Ozamony Merza Khandoff knocked out Alexander Rakish.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
That was tremendous.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Ikramela Scarrow got a decision over John Young Park answered
a lot of questions. Ludavit Klein and Matezrabeski had one
of the greatest fights I've ever seen. Ron Becky is
one of the craziest dudes ever. Take a break, though, Man,
get some rests. You take a lot of damage over
the last thirteen weeks. Valta Walker with another heel hook.
That's four in a row.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Ruzmapa Horras has four keel hooks submissions, but never fo
in a row.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Mostly ever got in the role was two.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Big Valter just killed that and said he wants to
fight against Kamdi Abdullaha, who he said beat up on
Black Pepper Pig talking about Chris bart Nutt, which is
actually most ridiculous thing ever great fight by Nathaniel Wood
and Miguel Jose. Miguel Delgado was fun Azot Moxham got
beat by Mitch Raposo, first UFC win and the decision

(12:58):
win for missoke guys downtime. For my total wireless performance
of the night, I skipped over Quillin Saal Killed and
that was because he is I mean. My performance of
the night. He knocked out Nazwraj Hawkaross, who was on
a five fight win streak and one of the nastiest,
most violent knockouts I have seen in a really long time.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Headkick puts him out.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Hawk Baross is laying on the ground, guys for ten
to twelve minutes.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
It was one of the scariest knockouts I've seen in
a long time.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
I pulled sal Killed over to the other side of
the octagon so we didn't have to see him laying
on the ground as we're doing an interview. This game
is crazy, and when you see things like that, it
reminds you of how dangerous it is.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
We watched the best fighters in the world every single week.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Tonight we saw a knockout that does not happen often,
or anything that violent doesn't happen that often. Unbelievable night
from Abu Dhabi. It's always great and yeah, I'm gonna
go home now. Try to get some rest before I
jump on this flight. Try to get back to California.
USC three twenty one delivered. Guys, until we get to

(14:09):
New York City, Like, subscribe and tell you friends about
my YouTube channel. I'm doing this giving you access and
talking to the fighters. Like I said, stick around, talk
to Fernie and Lopez and all the coaches til next time.
A no contests in the UFC title fright, unbelievable Until
next time.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Peace
