It’s a loaded episode as WNBA star Sophie Cunningham and Bravo’s West Wilson break down the massive Montana–Montana State rivalry game, react to Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr.’s eyebrow-raising comments about women’s hoops on the ‘Ball in the Family Podcast’ with Lonzo and LiAngelo Ball, and relive West’s iconic BravoCon wipeout while leaving the club. Plus, the crew dives into fan voicemails: surviving your first year of college, handling in-laws you can’t stand during the holidays, and navigating those big life transitions. They close with some Chiefs–Colts talk, who’s due for a touchdown, and why KC will come out on top.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Are you kidding?

Speaker 2 (00:00):
Sixteen cougars, panthers, three jaguars, one leopard, six lines, fourteen.

Speaker 3 (00:04):
Tigers, fourteen tigers. There's more bobcats than tigers.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Surprising damn.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
But do either of you know why a bobcat is
called a bobcat.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Because their tails?

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Yeah? Good, that's not everyone who gets that? Really?

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Yeah, that was so country of us to both know that.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Whoa ooh, welcome back to show me something podcasts.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
I do have to note something.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
I don't read the comments very often, but I checked
in yesterday and a lot of people said I've been
cussing too much. So I would like to say this
is a note. I'm going to try to say less
f bombs today. So Sophie if I if I cuss,
you can tell me stop and calling out for me
or what are you doing?

Speaker 3 (01:08):
You? Sorry?

Speaker 4 (01:10):
So, I, like I said earlier, I'm gonna try to
cuss less. And Sophie and I have breaking news. It's
gonna shock the world. We're coming home to Kansas City,
Missouri for a little party.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Wait, I'm actually so excited for that. And the amount
of people who are like, wait, how can we RSVP?
Like what if we don't get in. Can you guys
get a sin Like?

Speaker 1 (01:29):
I think this is about to be like a really
big fun deal for us.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
So, if you're in the Kansas City area, or if
you're even in Columbia or Saint Louis and want to
drive up, pull up. It is the same weekend as
Missoo Ku basketball and Chiefs Texans football. Wait, lot's going on. Yep,
huge weekend, but we're gonna be at a restaurant. It's
like a bar, a pub. But I looked on Facebook

(01:55):
and this guy was like, he was like, man, I
can't believe they're having a party at Arby's.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
That's awesome. So the party is sponsored by Arby's.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Guys, it's at no other pub two thirty to six,
and the Arby's is bringing the food and the drinkies
and the games. But it's gonna be really fun.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
It really will be like we're gonna be very interactive.
All of our friends and family are gonna be there.
There's gonna be just a bunch of people there. So
and honestly, it's gonna be a great weekend for all
types of football, especially Kansasmazoo. And then you definitely have
a Chiefs like you mentioned, but this is like a
big fun weekend, so I think it's gonna be so fun.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Meet and greet Chamszoo Kansas Mszoo basketball basketball I had, yeah,
but yeah, December six. I don't even think I said
the date in the beginning. So first weekend of December.
Pull up, that's our big announcement for today.

Speaker 5 (02:43):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Because Sophie and I don't even get to see each
other that much, we really don't.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
We need to do better about that. But I will
say with it too. People are like, well, what's it called?
The pub is actually called no other pub? Like that's correct,
that's the place, so come hang out with us.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Yeah, gonna be fun, but that's the news were dropping.
So those are my Those are my two big things.
No cussing and our party.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Okay, well I have some like fun things to talk about,
but I think I want to wait for the hot
girl section.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Oh okay, I just got okay.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yeah yeah, cause it's it's like a good like it
kind of made me cheerful a little bit, like I
loved it.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Oh so I know.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Wait, Okay.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
The first day of Bravo Con in my Vegas hotel room,
I was like kind of hungover and I didn't have
to be newhere till one and I fell into the
deepest hole of like you know they call them like
hopecore videos, just like the tiktoks that'll make you cry.
My eyes were so puffy and I was just sobbing
in my bed for two hours, and I was like,

(03:45):
I cannot go, I have to, Like I just put
my phone down, like shower.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
I looked like such a nightmare.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
But the Internet, you put like just a little piano
and something just beautiful, it'll.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Get you well.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
I feel like there are so many really cool, positive,
heartwarming things. But like if you've turned on the TV
and good to news, it's all like really bad negative things.
But if you get on the right side of social media,
there's just so many things to like smile about, Like
there's love all around, Like I love going down those
rabbit holes.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Seriously, Yeah, it's good. You want to build your FIP
for the good. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
I would like to address a video that's been circulating
the internet of Jesse and I wiping out in a club.
We were trying to leave. This is the first night
or second night, I don't remember what time was it Like, oh,
like three or four am, probably okay, but it was

(04:45):
crowded as shit, Like even the VIP area where we
were was like mad crowded. It was just like fucking crazy,
and so finally we were like, let's go. Kyle Staide
of course, but Carl, Jesse and nine and whoever else
we're with, We're like, let's go. So a security guard
starts leading us out. I didn't realize people even were
like filming us leave, but we're leaving and I just

(05:08):
him grabbing Jesse, and Jesse's sixty six, so I can't
see anything. We're just going and he just fucking runs
right into a stanchion pole.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
He falls. Then I fall behind.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
Him, Amy, right in the dick, and it was just
like you try to leave all cool because you have
like a security guard and everyone's like watching her, like
grabbing you, and we just and it was right where
it opened up, and it wasn't even that crowded, and
we just smoked a pole.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
But grocery card theory.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
I did pick it up and made sure that there
was no damage, and then we left and I went
home and ice we balls.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
I thought it Jesse, it's Jesse's fault.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Well, Jesse, almost Jesse kind of fell over it too,
but then like he didn't say anything to you, and
so you just ran directly into it.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
That he just kept going.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
I know, I didn't even look if you were good,
but you guys said ballfall, which was good, used, which
is even kind of better.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
I think that would have been bad. It just looks
it looks so fucking.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
Like awkward and doors oh oops, sorry, freaking awkward and dorky. Uh,
And it's just funny because the whole weekends about like
being serious and taking pictures and photos and whatever, and
now is just good stuff.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
I do love that.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
I didn't know what you were about to say. I
thought something else had circulated the internet, and I was like.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Oh, that's the worst of it. I love I love it.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Okay, well, I don't really have much.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
We just got done talking, so I think that we
should actually just get right into the Hot Girl the
Week because I just need to tell you the story.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Yeah, I could tell your fucking droolist.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
God damn it. Sorry freaking you're drooling at the drooling
at the mouth. We have free will, we can make
Hot Girl of the Week. And beginning segment Okay, well
presented my Arbi's.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
I think I'm just like ultra excited about this and
I don't even know why because I don't even know them.
But so I'm wearing this hat called Champs, right okay?

Speaker 1 (06:55):
And they also sent me.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
A coming come in a little closer. What's the little
logo at the bottom, It's like, okay, it's a little trophy,
like a little trophy emoji. They sent me a jersey
Miszoo colors yep, which might be like their bar too.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I don't know, do we.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Have a location base for this brand?

Speaker 1 (07:14):
It's a Oh my god, I just turned on the TV. Sorry,
did you hear that?

Speaker 3 (07:20):
It sounded like that was like a sound effect for
the jersey.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
That just scared the shit out of me. I've been
watching a scary like show and that freaked me out.
So my hot girl of the week is actually Jess
in the Champs bar on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
So it's from it's a little bar.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
On Lake Geneva.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Wait, okay, my brother's my brother's girlfriend has a house
on Lake Geneva and she takes Henry there like multiple
times thro out the year.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Dude, they've had to have heard of Champs. She played
at Duke. Her name's Haley Gereky. She played in the
league for a little bit and then she got traded
to Phoenix. So we were actually teammates out in Phoenix,
Arizona with the Mercury for.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Like a I think. And now she's like some.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Really cool sports agent and she's doing really cool things.
But they she's always at like Geneva, Like that's where
you know how like we go to the Ozarks are
like you go to the football games with Casey with
all your guys from high school. This is where her
friend group goes, and they just like look like such
a great time.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
They're always on a boat.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
They're always on the water, drinking, hanging out, just a
good group of people. And so every time she's there,
I'm always like, oh God, take me sometimes like I
would love to go.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
It just looks awesome.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
And so they were at Champs and the owner found
out that we were friends, okay, and so her and
her dad were like huge, huge basketball fans. The dad
was like a mega fan, like a really cool just
like loved women's.

Speaker 6 (08:48):
Sports, women's basketball, yes, an ally, so he actually passed
away and yeah, which is like yes, which is like
super sad, but now now her and her sister own
the bar and are like thriving and killing it and
so like it's just like you, I have like a
whole sheet of like their whole story, and like I

(09:10):
never read those like ever, so I'm not so sure
why I read this one, but it like brought me
to tears because just like they are putting this.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Like memorial kind of like I don't I don't even
know what you call it, like up in their bar
of like their dad and like he wanted my jersey
up there like next to him.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
Isn't that so nice? I know?

Speaker 2 (09:29):
And so I sent and like wrote a little note
and I was like tears to your dad on the
jersey and then signed.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
It and like, oh, that's really cute.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Yeah. So like their stories just super cute. Plus now they're.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Like you have to you have to go now.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Well I know, dude, like we should.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
I don't know when we would ever have the time,
but it would be so fun for us to like
bounce around to different lakes and have like a little.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Like lake tour, like may from Well, that's in the
middle of your season.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
You can't do that, But like that's what I'm saying
is like, instead of doing like tours, we should do
like a lake tour.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
I know, maybe you go slow on your rehab and
we can do it this next summer.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Hey, well, with how the CBA is going, we might
not even have a season. So maybe this is our year.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Do you want to unpack that?

Speaker 4 (10:17):
I'll go my hot girl and then you can go
your hot girl the week, or then you can tell
us what the CBA.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Wait. I don't think you so.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
My hot girls of the Week, just to clarify, are, yeah,
the two sisters who are running freaking champs on Lake
Geneva and Wisconsin.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
My hot girl of the week is there's no shot.
You watched the Bravo Awards, Sophie, But.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
One of the awards was for.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
Like best use of a prop and the winner was
Drek Kimsley, who is a housewife on Beverly Hills and
whatever the scene was, I remember seeing it memed on
Twitter or whatever, and she was like, I'm sure some
shit happened. And she hops in her car and like
is speeding down the highway and like lighting a cigarette

(11:04):
and it was just like super iconic. So she wins
the award and they called her up and she just
walked up smoking hot oh, and was like, appreciate it,
pulled out a fucking sig, lit it on stage and
was like and it was real, and then walked.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
To the back with her award and her cigarette in hand,
and I was like, dude, what a fucking what's her name?
Duriek Kimsley? Hold on so hot, so cool? And then
what brought it home for me was on TikTok.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
Someone made an edit of it with a Limp Biscuit song,
the song break Stuff, and it is just like the
fucking most badass shit I've ever seen ever, and Durreek
Kimsley is my hot Girl of the Week and it's
not even fucking close U.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
D O RI T.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
It was iconic. I'm sending it d O r I T. Yeah, Kimsley, wait,
will you please watch this video?

Speaker 1 (12:03):
I founder.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
She didn't even say anything, no, just let us sagan
walked off. Fucking iconic, Dude.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
That is funny as ship.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
So that's my hot Girl the Week. That was the
coolest thing I've ever seen in my life.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Dude. It was an honor. It was an honor to
share a stage with you. D wow. So that's cool man.
That was?

Speaker 2 (12:29):
That was I was not expecting it to Like, she
seems like a cool chick too.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
It's crazy being around all these housewives because they're like,
they're fucking cool, and you just I just think, obviously
it's hard to feel like I can relate to them
on a lot of things, but they're they're sick.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
That was so tight.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Well yeah, I mean, what was she so stressed about.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Do you think that her her mother and father just
loved dirittoes and they wanted to name Deree.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
That's the worst joke you've made since he started this podcast.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
But I was I just had Dorito's the other day.
Oh no, sorry, it's a kiddy.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
Oh it was her and her husband announced that publicly
announced that.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
They were separating. So it's a little dark, but fucking
I don't care.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
She rocks. Wow.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Well, ladies, if you're trying to impress mister west Wilson,
just uh go ahead and when you're around and pop

I'm surprised this is podcast episode twenty one and we
haven't talked about fucking Michael Porter Junior yet, which, for
those who don't know, also from our hometown.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
But he's said a lot of insane.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Stuff over the last uh a few years, I guess
you could say, really.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
This off season he's been on one.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
She's been saying dumb shit though for a while.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Yes, but I feel like this off season in particular,
he's just unfiltered.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
Yeah, uh, but so the nets told him there is
the first team to be like, hey, maybe stop talking
out loud.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Oh they said that, Yes, that's why I like brought
up again.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
So he talked about you, and then then the nets
put out a thing being like.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
Can you can you not do this anymore?

Speaker 4 (16:06):
Pup? I didn't know that, Okay, but you read the
quote though, well, so I.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Will just tell you I was working out and one
did this tweet?

Speaker 1 (16:17):
Can you scroll down? When did this tweet come out?
Last yesterday?

Speaker 2 (16:20):
I guess it's like started kind of hitting social media platforms,
but I'm not kidding. I think maybe thirty five people
sent me this tweet yesterday and I and I was
like what, But he said this kind of like I
feel like a year or like at least four or
five months ago something kind of regarding the same topic.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
So I thought it was just kind of like resurfacing.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
But then I saw it and I was like, but
people are kind of going in on him because it
doesn't like the timeline doesn't make so much sense.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
Well, from what I gathered, he basically was trying to
say no one should compare NBA and w NBA players
together because he could beat you guys.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
In basketball on one in one when he was in
eighth grade and you guys were in high school.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
I think, and this is my personal opinion, but if
you are a professional.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Football player, basketball player.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Really any sport, but let's just take it basketball because
that's where we're both at. Like, to me, like, if
you're in that elite level group, yeah, you should be
able to beat the girls. Like I'm not surprised by that,
Like that is not a But I just don't get
why it's continuing to get brought up and like if
women are saying that like he couldn't beat them, Yeah

(17:40):
he could. Any any NBA star or player could beat
a female in high school.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
Okay, I agree. I think people are like, why are
you still to like everything he's ever said is like
men and women him just like being so weirdly insecure
about women being around him and like their like reflection
of him. I think it wouldn't be that big of
a deal if he hasn't been talking about true women

(18:08):
so much the last like two years.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
Why did it, Like what was this a response to?
Like I have I.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
Wanted to know the same thing. What was what was
the response?

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Yeah, wait, I'm gonna look this up on perplexity real
fast and asked, because it'll be faster. The original prompt
discussion was about whether elite male teenagers in middle school
or high school could beat or dominate w NBA players.
Port said, I'm probably gonna go with eighth grade. I
have real experience doing this, Okay, so that is fair.

(18:43):
He was asked at what age do you think men
could beat w NBA players, and his take was eighth grade.
Do you think an eighth grader could hang a group
of elite eighth graders could beat a WNBA team?

Speaker 1 (19:02):
I mean if they're if they're future pros.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Uh dude, I mean it just depends how big they
are at that age, Like, well, yeah, that's yeah, and
the majority of the time if they're going pro, unless
you're a late bloomer, like you're already pretty big and like,
I mean.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
That's no, they are massive eighth grade boys.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
Yeah, so I would say that that's like probably honestly true.
I don't want to I mean it's probably true, Like,
like I don't want to be unrealistic or delusional, Like
men are just stronger, bigger athletic, Like they just are
a different build. And so if you put them up
against females of I'm like, well, yeah, they're gonna win.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
Uh, here's my biggest question for you, Sophie. Do you
think there are any players in the WNBA who would
fight it and say we could beat any.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
High school team of boys.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
We're that much better, Like no one, no one younger
could ever hang with us.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Oh no, Well, I think if you put like the
best of the best of the WNBA against a group
of eighth grade boys or future NBA guys.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Well, I was gonna say high school for this, for
the hypothetical that we're starting now. Eighth grade is a
little too pre pubescent for me or like, but once
you get to high school seniors like Cooper Flag was
a high school senior two years ago.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
Dude, there's no way.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
So like, there's no way.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
And I'm not saying like there there are some females
who can out shoot, who can pass the shit out
of it, who are strong, can rebound, can like, we
all have the skill, but it's all like if you
put a their best high school against the best WNBA,
I just don't. I just the male and female are
just so different. I just don't think that's a fair matchup.

Speaker 4 (20:56):
That's a fair fair case for MPJA and the fact
that he got maybe he clickbaited given that there was
no context. And everyone on this podcast has been fucking
clickbaited or freaking clickbaited before. So you know, I will
allow you to use this time. We'll give you, like
have much time you want to talk about what the

(21:18):
Rockbridge High School basketball roster looked like though, because he
was talking about his sisters.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
And you, yeah, actually, this is good, this is good.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
I will do it for I'll do it for you
if you want to be humble, but I think you
should do it.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Yeah, I'll do it because there's no private schools who recruit,
will pay for the kids schooling do all that.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
Saint Louis is a fucking jackpot of a zillion private
schools that are so good and they can recruit. They're
good at football, basketball, soccer, literally everything.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
Kansas City much more public.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
High schools, but like, still do it. We went, We
went to public high school in a smaller town than.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
Kansas City and Saint Louis. And then seven of the floor's.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Your sorry for six four six.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
These are these are Michael Porter Junior's sisters. Yeap who
are tall, tall, and beautiful.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
May I add stunning.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
I just want to sneak that in there.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Yeah, their whole family is completely stunning.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
And so, yeah, it is so funny because I actually
won four state championships, right, so me and Sierra Porter.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
But it was so fun because.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Now without the student section, though.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
The student section was fucking awesome.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
I will say, we started winning and teams wouldn't play us.
So when it got to be my senior year, we
had I think like only three or four home games
because people did not want to come play us, and
so we traveled all over the damn state of Missouri, Kansas, Illinois,

(22:51):
I think, I will like, we traveled everywhere to get
games because people did not want to come because we
don't have a conference. We didn't have a conference back then,
and so we traveled everywhere because people don't wan.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
To play guys, that's a public school. That's insane, that's
fucking crazy. Shout out Jill Nigel, Shout out Jill. I look, Jill,
she's the best. Yeah, and we couldn't shout out Jill
Nagel without shouting out Greg Nagel, her sweet husband. Uh,
but we won't take up too much of you guys time,
but you just need to know. But there was yeah,

(23:22):
like what what a time?

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah, Like I will say when we hear these types
of conversations or debates and we like bring.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
It back to high school.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Like I think I was someone who got very blessed
with a great high school team. And so like when
I'm trying to compare our dominant, dominant high school team
to like what he's saying, like, I'm like, you know,
that's kind of valid, Like we we were the best
of you know, the best of our classes. And so
like when when there's an argument like that, that's why
it's always fun. Like we've had these discussions in person,

(23:52):
and like you have them with other players and like,
at the end of the day, the men in sports
will always win.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
Yuh.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
I'm trying to think of sports that don't require like chess,
because golf ut.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Off from closer.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
Uh, every sport, think about it besides like besides like
band dancing, maybe I.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
You know what, I you know what, I would like
to watch what.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Like Nebraska volleyball play a bunch of dudes something about volleyball.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
I've like, they're they're beasts.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
Dude, I will say that, but have you ever watched
men volleyball players?

Speaker 3 (24:32):
Yeah, it's scary.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
They like, yeah, dude, those people can jump out of
the damn gym.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
But like Nebraska ballball shot out Harper Murray, she's turning
into my little bestie.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
Love her m shout out before we get into this sovie.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Any sporting events you have your eye on, like heading
into the week heading in December?

Speaker 3 (24:54):
Question?

Speaker 4 (24:54):
Uh, no, go for it was For those of you
who don't know about the It's got a few names.
It's called the Brawl of the Wild. Some call it
cat Griz. It is Montana State versus Montana. It is
the The game has been played since eighteen ninety seven.
May I I do so?

Speaker 3 (25:15):
This is this would be the one hundred and twenty
fourth meeting.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
Yeah, not everyone knows about it, but it is like
like miszoo ku great rivalry. This thing is like it
is unreal. College game day went a year ago. We
hate the University of Montana. Montana doesn't have pro sports,
so this is like this is everything. You could be
O and eleven and beat this school and still kind

(25:41):
of feel good about your season. And that is this
week and not only is it the rivalry, but it
is also for the Big Sky Championship, so two trophies
on the line. It is the best rivalry I've ever
been a part of. They have a six stadium, it's loud,
it's gonna be crazy. Be on TV if anyone's bored

(26:02):
at three o'clock Eastern time on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
This is a game. It's worth your time. And I
feel good. I feel great.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
But it's the only like we beat the shit out
of the Big Sky Conference all year, We're very good.
This game is the only game I get like I'm
nervous all week four because kind of no matter what
happens after, you still have a bad taste in your mouth,
no matter what. But we play for this big ass
fucking trophy that's five hundred pounds, Sophie.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
If you look at this, it's really big.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
It's called the Great Divide Trophy.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
You have to have like ten line men holding it up.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Yeah wait, did you did you guys win this when
you played?

Speaker 4 (26:43):
We won my junior year and my senior year, so
I went now too. But it's it's incredible, and so
I would be remiss if I did not get on
this podcast and say go Cats, fuck the Grizz, and
I'm gonna say fuck them because we usually say FTG,
but go Bobcat.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
A lot of people have FTG, like had it on
their lips and stuff. It's like, real deal, are you serious?
Swear to God? Actually, can I tell you a funny
story if you have time?

Speaker 1 (27:09):
We have plenty of time.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
The first game I ever traveled was my freshman year
at Montana, so it was like it wasn't towards the
end of the.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Year that they wanted to play me, and so.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
I was like, oh shit, this is like a crazy
first like away game to have, and so I'm like
so excited. Whatever we get in the locker room and
I don't know why I had a bad feeling.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
I just was like, fuck, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
The equipment team forgot to stitch my last name on
my jersey, so everyone everyone has their last names and
mine was.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Just blank, and I was like, hey, did you guys forget?
Like what are we doing here?

Speaker 1 (27:48):
And I like sharpie and.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
Just tape and they were like sorry, like we forgot
It was I was like, what the fuck? So it's
my first away game. I'm like so proud. It's in
this super loud stadium where they hate us. Yeah, and
we go running out there and I'm the only person
without a last name on their jersey, and I was
just kind of like I was just like this the
whole game, and like I probably only played like ten snaps, but.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
I'm standing there and they're all like, who's the mystery
man down there? Who's the mystery man? Like why doesn't
he have a name? You have to earn your last.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
Names into They're heckling me the whole time. But it
was just a classic, Like you're so excited for your
first game to travel and of course something goes wrong.
But it's pretty funny, dude if.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
You think that that's a good bim Like if that
didn't happen, it when it has been is like remember you.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
Know, yeah, yeah I love that. Yeah, but go cats.
So I wanted to say I like that big one.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Actually, you know what that kind of fits for both
of us. Go cats because the tiger's a cat. We
want the cats.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
But when what.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
But no one in Columbia says like go cats.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
No, But I'm just thinking, like a jayhawk is a bird,
what's my what's Myntana's thing?

Speaker 4 (29:01):
They're grizzly, So that would be like a large, a
large mammal. Yeah, so we're just encompassing all cat mascots.
There's probably, like, if you encompass all cats and Division one,
probably like forty five or something, probably more than that,
don't you think bobcat tiger? There's not a lot of
lions in college case is it.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Wildcat? I feel like Arizona is also the wildcats. Northwestern
is also the Wildcats. The tigers. There's a lot of tigers,
the tigers, especially the uars.

Speaker 8 (29:37):
Exactly.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
Wait, I'm gonna look this up on Perplexity real fast
and ass because it'll be faster.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Oh my god, how many oh cougars? B yu Cougie's
fifty five?

Speaker 3 (29:48):
Fifty five? What did I say? Forty five?

Speaker 1 (29:50):
Yeah, dude, you were so close.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Holy shit. Fifteen bobcats are you kidding?

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Sixteen cougars, panthers, three jaguars, one leopard, six lignes, fourteen.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
Tigers, fourteen tigers. There's more bobcats than tigers.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Surprising.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Damn well, do either of you know why a bobcat
is called a bobcat.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Because their tails?

Speaker 3 (30:14):
Yeah? Good, that's not everyone who gets that, really?

Speaker 2 (30:17):
Yeah, that was so country of us to both know that,
like you bob like cats, what a bob?

Speaker 3 (30:24):
Not a lot of people. That's a good that's good job.

Speaker 4 (30:26):
So thanks shout out to She's shut Paula, shut out, Paula. Wait,
so I was gonna show you this is how it takes,
Like all the big boys have to get together and
like carry it out on the stadium.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
That's so cool. It's fuck, it's it's so cool, all right,
real talk.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Every holiday season, there's always that one person that is
impossible to shop.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
For, oh one hundred percent. In my family, that's my mom.

Speaker 4 (30:48):
She'll swear she doesn't want anything, and it ends up
being obsessed with everything.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
You give her exactly.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
That is literally my aunt. But this year I finally
crushed it.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
I surprised her with a bubble cuddle blanket from Cozy Earth,
and she called me the morning like I'm living in
this now.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
That's the sign of a great present, the one that
instantly gets put up in the daily rotation.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
And I also have the same blanket. It's heavy, it's soft,
and I love it so much.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
So the holidays actually kind of move a little fast
with me because I travel rehab family plans are all
over the place, so it's definitely chaotic. So giving someone
something that actually makes them slow down and breathe, that's
sex level.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
That's what Cozy Earth is all about, pure cozy and comfort.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
Then they make the whole thing easy. You get one
hundred night's sleep trial and a ten year warranty.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
I've been rocking their pajama set and it's basically my
uniform at the crib.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
Plus, Cozy Earth kicked off Black Friday Early.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Use our code show me with their sitewide sale and
save up to forty percent off.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
Jump on it now because those savings do not last long.
And when you check out, hit the post purchase survey
and let them know you heard about Cozy Earth on
Show Me Something.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Give the people you love a little luxury this season
with Cozy Earth.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
All right, let's hop into a little thing we like
to call tell Me.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Something, the most unique segment on our show.

Speaker 5 (32:02):
Hey Sophie, Hey wes a big fan of the podcast
and your careers. My son is a senior in high
school and he just landed a full ride scholarship to
play baseball at a juco in southern Illinois. We are
from Georgia.

Speaker 9 (32:18):
I just want to know if you could give my
son some advice on how to approach the first year
in college as an athlete, as a student, as an
independent young man, what to do to be you know,
positive in all aspects of those things and just kind
of get the most out of his experience, but also
be successful and continue to grow and get bigger and

(32:40):
get stronger to hopefully play at a four year college
after his JUCO time.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Yeah, cangar outs, big boss, do you want to go first?
I can two things that I think of.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
Obviously JUCO, he probably won't be there for four years
right away, But I still think trying to like be
present where you are will help you a lot. Like
I was kind of lonely when I, like when I
first left for college. Obviously you have friends because you're
on sports team, but they're still new and you don't

(33:20):
necessarily like they don't have a lot of depth to them.
Once you can like really settle in and be content
with like the town you're in, the friends you have,
I think it makes the sport you're playing easier because
you have like layered appreciation for where you are. And
then like the roller coaster of your sports career does

(33:43):
not affect you as much as it would if that's
the only thing you put all your marvels into, because
it can it can really fuck with you as an
athlete because it's kind of how you self identify. And
so being having good relationships with your teammates, with your
co which is and like appreciating the school and community
that you're a part of will make your athletic experience

(34:06):
like that much better. So like really give that a shot.
And then you know you're going to JUCO. So the
ideas that you're going to go to another school, do
the same thing at the next place, like really try.
And that's harder now with the way everyone's transferring, I
would imagine, But that is what helped me.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
So that's big. I like that.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Yeah, I think just kind of piggybacking off you when
you can really dive into the community, that helps so
so much of just like being where your two feet
are at and embracing that. But when I think when
it comes to the actual athletics side of becoming a freshman,
I think it's all about time management, it's about work ethic.

(34:43):
My biggest thing is it's about stacking the days, Like
everyone wants to come on campus and be the start
right away. You want to get paid right away, you
want to be a starter right away. Well that's not
just how it that's not how it works. That's not
really reality. And so for me, I think when you
can stack the days and really learn the ropes and
dive into your nutrition, into getting into the weight room,

(35:04):
into getting extra reps, like that's part of the journey.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
You have to embrace and love the journey.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
And if you're stack in the days and even getting
one percent better every single day, and sometimes that might
look different sometimes you're gonna have a shitty day, but
that was you tried your best, and that's what it was.
I think it's all about the journey, and so enjoy it,
embrace it, love your teammates, get to know people. And
I think when you do that, I don't know, I
think you're gonna look back in and be really proud

(35:29):
of your career.

Speaker 8 (35:31):
Congrats dog, have fun, morning Sophie, morning lass huh kind.
They had a more serious question for you, How would
you guys handle family that you don't get along with, specifically,
like in an in law situation, seems like we're always
at odds, and I don't really feel that safe communicating

(35:55):
my beliefs when they get into discussions and just gets
all around awkward, and I know it hurts my wife
in a lot of ways. So I'm just curious. You
can't have any advice. I love the pod. I hope
you're doing well. Happy holidays.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Honestly, great voice. That guy's a great voice.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
Yeah you should do Yeah, you should do radio.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
But I am kind of curious. Does he know that? Like,
we don't have in laws, neither of us.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
Yeah, that's tough, so Sophie and I don't really have
experience with that. Again, don't take any of our information
too serious here.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
My first thought would be just to be as open
with your wife.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
As possible about it, and because she'll be honest with
you and about her family, We're like, you probably don't
want to step on toes as much, and like I
hate to put it all on her, but it kind
of feels like, well no, but like what other middleman
option is there? Or she could also be like, this

(37:02):
isn't my fucking issue. You guys figure it out, like
cause you all are going to be with each other
for a long time. If she wants to do that
she has every right to. And also depends on like
how you don't get along, Like do you not have
similar interests or is it like different political views, Like
there's a bunch of different ways that this can all
be a thing.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
But but I think at the end of the day,
I think you can go into a situation of trying
to like have a clean slate and just going in
there knowing like, hey, maybe good vibes this year, Like
let's just try to give them another shot, and like
hopefully you can find one person on her side or
his side of the family that you can like to.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
To be your like doorway. Yeah, and like that's good,
that's I like that.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
And like you if you already know that you guys
maybe don't get along or there's some tension, just like
be friendly, like don't just try to pursue some peace
and then like just kind of go do your own.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
Thing, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
Well, I think it depends how much you see them.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
If it's like all the time, you might have to
put your foot down, like solve the ship because it's
too unbearable.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
But if it's like just Christmas.

Speaker 4 (38:05):
And like a birthday once a year, then just keep
the peace, like who really cares? But if it's if
it's like every month or like a couple of times,
like you've got to figure the shit out.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
Like then I don't know, stand up to someone and
just lock it in.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
But I do think that you had good advice though.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
I think that you and your significant other, you guys
should always make sure that you guys are on the age,
like keep that guys communication open and.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Yeah, move on from there.

Speaker 3 (38:33):
Yeah that was pretty good, look at us.

Speaker 4 (38:36):
So this next segment is brought to you by hard
Rock bet Okay, guys, real quick. Chief's kind of in
a do or die situation this Sunday kind of. Yeah,
so things are looking a little scary, and Sophie and
I are going to give you each and anytime TV
score just if you need a little sprinkle, because Sophie

(38:59):
and I are a little nerves about where this season
is going and we're trying to bring some good juju backs.
So anytime TD score, I'm rolling with Patty Mahomes using
his legs.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
Do or die.

Speaker 4 (39:10):
I think if they get in the red zone, I
think he's gonna sacrifice his body, like go get you
some he sneaky, sneaky, decent runner, and he seems to
find the end zone when they need it the most.
So I'm going Mahomes Mahomes rushing touchdown. I think he
knows what's at stake and he's going to go find

(39:31):
it himself.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
Okay, I think my pick this week, and if these
picks work, I think that that somehow we should become
like special coaches for the rest of the season, like
on the sideline with headsets, chewing all these guys as
a new asshole so they can like win another Super Bowl.
I think that's just my opinion. But I think I'm
going to go with Xavier Worthy. I think he's kind

(39:53):
of been struggling a little bit, hasn't had a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
I feel like the past couple.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Of games, and so target him early, like target him often,
and let's get him one like he needs to get going.

Speaker 3 (40:04):
So lovely take well, I'm in. I'll tell you we
talked about this.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
You you helped me with my thoughts so.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
Amazing. Uh Hey, guys, thanks for tuning in. We appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
Remember December sixth in Kansas City. Come take a shot
with Sophie and I.

Speaker 2 (40:24):
We're gonna have a freaking blast, and I haven't seen
you in so long, so this is gonna be really fun.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
It's gonna be good, it's gonna be rock.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
And I really like seeing you drink water. Proud of you.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
Oh, thank you very much, got you. Bye later guys,
