Speaker 2 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Play won three Natties, three time Big Ten champ, seventeen
years coaching college football, bowling Green, Utah, Florida, Ohio State.
Now he's working at Fox Sports. Urban Myer is now
joining us. Tonight Ohio State's playing Miami. Let me start
with this one before we get into the games. So
(00:48):
you know, you were an athlete, your golf still you
get out there, you got kids, grandkids, you're active. You're
sixty one, Whittingham sixty six. Do you think in five
years from today you would have the energy to be
a college football coach? Take here, how you live today?
Five years that's a lot of good times, that's a
lot Five years from today, would you have the energy?
(01:10):
Sixty six is a big number there, It is older.
What do you make of that?
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Personally?
Speaker 4 (01:17):
No, I would not, just because the way I did it.
It was all in and uh, you know, Kyle's a
unique breed. Kyle is a guy that is sixty six
going on fifty six.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
I know him very well. Obviously he's in great shape.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
But me personally, no chance, no chance to go back
to work in the hours, in the and the grind.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
No chance.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
What's his best asset? What's what's Kyle best at?
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Oh Man?
Speaker 4 (01:49):
I've been asked this question a lot lately. He is
a tough guy. He understands his football acumen. I would
say it's as good as anyone I've ever been around.
You know, I'd put you know, Dan Mulla and Ryan
Day and Kyle and Kyle probably better at all of them.
That's how he's such a smart guy. Understands both sides
of the ball. But I think the best thing he
(02:10):
does is he demands respect. But he still is very
close to his players. And I just always admired that
about him when he was working for me years ago.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Yeah. Okay, Miami at Ohio State, very good defenses. I
think Julian san is the most underrated college football player
in the country. I think he's really really good. You know,
everybody knows Ohio State's got great backs last year, great receivers.
This year it's Ohio State. I just don't know if
(02:43):
Miami can move the ball much. I don't think Ohio
State is going to march up and down the field.
I don't know if Miami can move the ball in
this team. Can they I don't think they can.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Unless Ohio State does something very uncharacteristic and turn the
ball over a few times, I don't don't see them.
I do not see Miami driving the ball against Ohio State.
I saw very few deep very few teams do that.
You know, the only team that beat them was obviously
Indiana and our a man Mendoza made some incredible throws.
And I don't see Ohio State moving up the ball,
(03:17):
moving up and down the field on Miami either. This
is going to be a slug fest. And I just
don't see Miami scoring. I told people if Ohio State
scores two touchdowns, they win that game.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
And I still believe.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
That when you go into a game like this and
you know it's going to be low scoring, you're the
favored team, but you know it's going to be low scoring.
Do you think Ryan Day will call it conservative game,
basically believing, guys, we will eventually make a play on
the perimeter, but we're not giving them points. I mean,
I've seen Ryan. I've seen Ryan do that before a
(03:49):
couple of times. It's not a criticism. When you have
Ohio State talent and you know the other team's not
gonna score much. Would you be prone to try some
fun stuff earlier, go into it knowing we'll grind them
down and we'll win. Because I mean, I think Ryan
Day watches film you do. Miami's not dropping twenty eight here,
They're not. So do you think Ranel coach conservatively.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
I think he's in a very unique position of being
the head coach now to play color.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
He's always been very involved in play calling.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
You asked what would I do. I would do exactly
what you just said. I would be very conservative as
the game started. I would be such an emphasis on
special teams and trying to you know, I would always
tell our offense and people get shocked sometimes and I
say this, your job as an offense is you get
two in this type of game, get two first downs
and then see what happens.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
But you have to get two.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
First downs because Colin netflips the field, you get two
first downs, you're near midfield, you punt the ball.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
They're starting inside their ten.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
If you got excellent special teams, and that's where the
mistakes are made. Your job as an offense to stay
out of that situation.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
And put them in that situation. This kind of game.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
Now, if they have matchup night, like a matchup advantage,
which I believe they do with those two receivers, there
might be times as a cross are getting near that
fifty yard line to shoot the ball down the field.
I would not mess around inside your own ten twenty
twenty five yard line.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Do not do that.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Get too first down, do you get in your midfield?
Go ahead and take a few shots because this will
be a field position game. Because Miami's defense is legit, legit,
oh yeah, oh yeah, and they can't they can't screw
around with that defense.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
I think Indiana is going to blow Alabama out. I think.
I think I've watched Alabama play six times, and I
don't know series the series, what I'm getting. They can't
run the ball, they're inconsistent. Now, their receivers are excellent.
I think Indiana is really good. I think Indiana is
the second best team in the country. I think if
they faced Ohio State again, they'd lose close. You watch
(05:56):
the Alabama play, you watched Indiana. Who do you honestly
think it's better? Take the names off who's better consistently?
Speaker 4 (06:03):
How about Colin Coward saying Indiana is going to blow
on Alabama and you still have a show to do.
That's amazing twenty twenty five. I think it's going to
be very close game. I think on paper, Alabama's got
that incredible roster. IM like you, I just I was
actually at the game with Bob Stoots watching the Alabama
Oklahoma game. I stood next to their players. I watched
(06:24):
them in warm up, so I'm like, my gosh, that's
a great looking team. But they're up and down Indiana.
This is the most talented Indiana team of all time.
Todd McStay said they're gonna have eight players drafted, which
is more than they had for the past eight years combined.
And Mendoza. It's all on Mendoza. Mendoza has one of
(06:45):
his days, Indiana wins if he does it. I don't
know if they can beat Alabama. And Dooza has to
have a great day like he did against Show State.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
So you and I I think we agree on Lincoln Riley.
Smart guy, gosh, but we're several years in and we
don't see the toughness. They can't packle They just lost
a good DC to Penn State. I know he's smart,
(07:14):
he's on the right side of the ball. I mean
that Jade in myob is one of the most improved
players in college football. I don't doubt he's very good
at the offensive thing. But man, you got bowl losses
to Tulane and TCU and you it's really an interesting thing.
There's so much I like about him. But you're watching
(07:34):
you know you watched that last night. At the end,
what do we make of USC Riley this morning? What
do we make of them? Or should we just say
it's a bowl game? Nobody's playing. They didn't play their starters.
I mean, I had nine guys that would never see
the field in the regular season game. All they wanted
to do is practice with their young guys. Balls are different. Now,
how do you view it?
Speaker 4 (07:56):
I think I've said this on this show and certainly
on our podcast some Big newon many many times. That's
the one job I don't understand that it's not in
the playoffs, and we're not talking about them now in
the second round of the playoffs. I don't they have
everything you need. They have tradition, they have all the
players right there. I think they have an excellent coach.
Lincoln Riley has always been a guy I looked up to,
(08:17):
and his football documenies are very high. But there's been
a flaw that's followed him from Oklahoma to USC, and
that's defense, that's tackling, and it doesn't seem.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
To be going away. So I don't understand it.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
To me, that's the one of all I put Florida
PLUBI probably number two. I just don't understand how Florida's
not winning. But USC with the quality coach, they have,
the quality of talent within two hours of that program,
the history, tradition, the money, I don't It makes no
sense to me. And I watched that game last night
and I was in because I have respect for TCU,
(08:54):
But what are we talking about. We're talking about USC
with the highly paid coach that's been sixuccessful and.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
How that you can say it's just a bowl game.
I don't look at it that way at all. They lost.
USC should lose.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Yeah, so you coach in the SEC and the Big Ten,
and it was understood for about twenty years there were
more Sunday guys down south. If Oregon, Ohio State and
Indiana win, can we say indisputably the powers north? The
Big Ten is the best conference.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
You know.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
How about Illinois beating Tennessee you know, and Iowa you
know they're playing right now.
Speaker 4 (09:39):
And so I I said this last year that the
top of the last two years, you don't have to say,
you could.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Watch at the top of the Big Ten was better
than the top of the SEC.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
I still thought the quality of depth of the SEC,
when you look at the NFL draft picks in the
middle of the SEC down to the bottom, is much
stronger than the Big Ten.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
I think we need to evaluate those.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
Things happen that you just said, Well, certainly at the
top of the Big ten's can be better. But when
Illinois goes and beach Tennessee, you know, and Iowa can
beat Vanderbilt, then you're going to say top to bottom
of Big Ten, the power has shifted up north, which
is an amazing thing to say.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Okay, I'm looking at the score right now, I'm doing
this live hold on vander Bill, hold on God. Iowa's
Hammer and Vanderbilt.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
I just was watching, and I mean Hammer playing great defense,
tackling and hit the heck out of them.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
Iowas tough. I watched Iowa play Oregon. That was a
go either way game. It was crappy weather. It was
a good game. It's good TV product. Yeah, it's pretty good.
Let's see all right. You know, I was thinking about this.
You're friends with Kyle Winningham and he's at Michigan and
next year's Ohio State Michigan game. I mean, that's a
(10:58):
tough one for you now right. How do you How
are you emotionally? Are you ready for that? Emotionally?
Speaker 3 (11:05):
I have to work on it. But Kyle called me?
How about this? Colin? Colin?
Speaker 4 (11:10):
Kyle called me and he said, what do you think?
And I thought, Kyle, you're sixty six years old and
you just stepped down. You've been at Utah for I
want to say, thirty years as a player. He played
at BYU, he coached at BYU, than Utah assistant coordinator,
than head coach. The shrewding he's going to be on
there is going to be immense, but there's no better
(11:30):
football coach out there in the country than Kyle when
he am and I'm one of his biggest fans and
a very close friend. So long story short, I am
pulling for him in every game. I just do I
have to answer that now. But he called me and
I said, I said, I said, quote, are you kidding me?
And then I started putting two and two together. That
you have one of the premier programs, one hundred and
(11:52):
ten thousand people in that stadium, everything you need. And
think what he's done in Utah or it is very limited,
it's not a great recruiting base.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
He's turned that into what he is. So this is
going to be amazing to watch. Man.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
It is okay, So I'm going Ohio State, Indiana, Georgia.
It's hard to Oregon's just played the last two years
against better players, better teams, and I do think that
matters here. But I don't think I think Dante Moore
(12:25):
is going to be under some duress. I think that
game is going to be lower scoring. I guess I
like Oregon. If you told me there was an upset,
I'd say that, but I do. Let me ask you this.
So Oregon plays a much better schedule. Does that matter
when you get into these kind of games, what you've
done in the last ten eleven weeks. Of course it does.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
I think you know your strengths and weaknesses.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
There's some teams that you know if you don't play
those strong games early, like Ohio State. I think sti't
trying to figure out their weaknesses. They their schedule really
wasn't that difficult. They have Texas the front end, they
have Indiana the back end, and in between. It was
a bunch of teams they were better than. So I
think they're still identifying whatever their issues are. Oregonos you know,
(13:10):
Oregon Orgon has some tough ass games on the road
to Penn State, UH Indiana, so they've had some tough games.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
They know their weaknesses.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
So it's not so much knowing your strengths, it's knowing
about where is the flaw in your program? And right
now Ohio States still you know, they still don't know
because you know, obviously missing a chip shot field goal
and the fourth down, the two red zone misses, and
then I've giving.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
Up a couple of downfield passes.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
Other than that, Ohio State has no flaws and so
they're as they continue on this progression of Miami and
then probably Georgia. It looks like they're still trying to
figure that. To answer your question, organos or flaws, and
they've been working on them.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Their thing about Oregon, that's you know, I've watched like
seven Oregon games, is they're losing both coordinators, which is
a little odd. And the air thing is for a
big chunk of their schedule. All their wide received were
banged up. So I feel like I've never seen Oregon
play fully healthy. So I don't I keep saying Oregon's beatable,
and I'm like, well, maybe they're not when they're healthier.
(14:11):
So I do get Dante Moore in Lanning. I really
like Lanning. I think Lanning. Yeah, I got to be
honest with you. When they hired Lanning a Georgia guy,
I'm like, that's a weird hire. I'm I'm not sure
Dan Lanning is going to work. Why is he so successful?
Speaker 4 (14:26):
I was the same day when they hired him. First one,
I didn't know who he was. I heard his name,
and then we struck up all the relationship. He reached
out a few times with a great conversation. He invited
me out. I spent two days with his program, and
I walked away and said, that is that's that's it,
not only him, but his coaching staff. And now it's
picked apart a little bit like what happened to me
(14:47):
at Florida. They start taking your coordinators and tajh to
Lupois and excellent defensive coach, and then obviously his offense cornier,
so they're picking him apart.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
But Dan Lanning what makes him. He's player.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
He's tough as heck on the players, but he also
loves those players and they love them back. So it
was a It's the way college football is supposed to look.
When I watch that practice, tough, physical and everybody going hard.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yeah, god, he's so. He's easy to like, man, he is.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
He is so practicing it he is.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
It's just fun, all right. Well, enjoy that game tonight.
Enjoy that game tonight.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
I think the Buckeys score three touchdowns, they win the game.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Yeah, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna
say it right off the top. I'm going to go
Ohio State twenty four, Miami thirteen. That's what it feels like, man,
That's yeah. I don't know. I don't know if Miami.
I don't know if Ohio State can score twenty four.
(15:53):
Maybe we both feel kind of the same way. We
both kind of feel the same way. We don't think
Miami is going to score two touchdowns. Both agree there.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
Yeah, which last question how to or for you is
how which Carson Beck will show up? If he throws
that ball to the Scarlett Jerseys, it could be much
more than twenty four. If he doesn't, it'll be a
low scoring game.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
Yeah, I kind of sold my Carson beckstock.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
I like.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
I think Krystal Ball's had a hell of a year
because every time I watched Miami they got better. I
think that's good. I mean, they got better. I watched
that Pittsburgh game, and that's I was like, oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
whoah woah. I thought that was going to be you know,
northern Miami up north, and they blew him out and
I was like, wow, they have improved by two touchdowns
from August September all right, Urban, good seeing you.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Thanks Coler.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
You bet, Yeah, I think it's I think it's on
the number eight, nine, ten, We'll see. I just I
like them. I like the kind of Flashy, Tony, Flashy,
Miami blue blood Ohio State. I'm telling you Iowa's hammer
and Vandy Illinois beats Tennessee. Thank God for USC so
(17:05):
the SEC can feel good about itself. Somebody's got to
lose the pig ten.
Speaker 2 (17:09):

Speaker 1 (17:52):
J Mack with the News, Turn on the news.
Speaker 5 (17:56):
This is the Herd Line news all right, I know
Herd Line of the year, cow heard. Let's start with
the forty nine ers forty nine ers Seahawks in a
huge game, must win for the number one seed, so
the division. I remain mystified that Seattle is at one
and a half point favorite. It feels like I'm on
an island here with the Niners. Every time I look online,
(18:17):
all I'm seeing is Seattle. Seattle Colin Kyle Shanahan has
actually jumped to the second best odds behind Mike Brabel
for coach of the Year.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Obviously, if he gets the number one seed, you got
to give it to him. I don't know.
Speaker 5 (18:32):
I'm surprised Liam Cohen's not getting more love. Jacksonville won
like four games last year. Well, he's getting love it
just I mean, his odds are plus twelve hundred. Why
is Rabel that high? They've had the easiest schedule.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
In the league. What are we doing? First of all,
there are no easy schedules. No, though they had the
easy they've played the weakest schedule.
Speaker 5 (18:50):
They've played the largest number of teams that have a
below five hundred record break.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
I've seen the Rams get whacked by the Falcons and
the Panthers this year.
Speaker 5 (18:59):
Panthers, I believe you have a winning record and could
make the playoffs. But yes, yeah, I mean Patriots lost
to the Raiders in the opener. Okay, let's slow down,
like everybody loses a game.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
But I would probably give it to Vrabel. But I
think I said, as a coaching staff, the Niners have
been absolutely ridiculously good given the injuries.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
I mean, Patriots haven't had the injuries that forty nine.
I would go Niners. I would go Shanahan, followed by
Liam Cohen. That job in Jacksonville tremendous.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Nobody. Some people had the Patriots like yourself.
Speaker 5 (19:31):
Zero people had the Jags making the playoffs, much less
hosting a playoff game.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
I mean Cohen's Cohen made Trevor Lawrence looks like the
guy we thought he'd beat Rue. No, that's true, he
has I mean Trevor looks like what we thought he
was going to be out of Clemson. I think that's
a good way to put it.
Speaker 5 (19:46):
You know, it may come as a shock to you,
but I've made some enemies on the interwebs with my
Chargers are going to beat the Patriots in the playoffs,
and now all these Patriots fans are going crazy.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
Well, May's the MVP, and Rabel's a great coach. You
think Rabel's that good of a coach. Colin yet him
and you're Super six or whatever it's called. You don't
think Rabel's a good coach. I think he's good, but
sick by the way. He had Tennessee as a number
one seed. Look at Tennessee since he left. It is
a tire fire. It's the worst operation in the league.
(20:16):
Big facts.
Speaker 5 (20:17):
If I said, Colin, you're starting a franchise tomorrow, you
can have Kevin O'Connell or Mike Brabel.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Who you got Rabel and I like Kevin O'Connell.
Speaker 5 (20:25):
I'm taking koc Baby, that's my guy offensive coordinate. Wait
till he fixes JJ McCarthy next year.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Okay, you can't wait for that brown.
Speaker 5 (20:34):
All right, let's go to Tampa Bay and Carolina. I
don't know what's your excitement level for this game. This
division has been so what.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
I wanted to bet. I wanted to bet Carolina, but
I'm all for three and I'm not gonna do it anymore.
I'm never gonna bet an NFC South team again. Yeah,
I'm not gonna do it ever again. Ever, that's a
little roote.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
I don't bet.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
I don't bet Big twelve football. It's too crazy.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
Okay, well, Baker Mayfield is a huge reason for the
demise of the Panther will it might be the shoulder thing.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (21:08):
Anyways, here's Todd Bowles calling out his quarterbacks play ahead
of the win and in playoff game.
Speaker 6 (21:13):
Oh, there's mistakes. We gotta be better at the quarterback position.
We gotta be better at the sagma calling position.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
We gotta be better blocking it. Hey, when in this
league is hard.
Speaker 6 (21:23):
There's no negativity inside the locker room, inside of the building,
as far as we're concerned. There's mistakes, the things we
got to clean up. There's trust, there's belief. We gotta
play harder. We got to play a lot better. We
got to coach a lot better.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
Sounds like a beaten down man, doesn't it like me?
Speaker 5 (21:41):
After I got to take the trash out, I'm like, oh, see, bulls,
it looks like he's been through the ringer.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Now it is hard to win.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
Go watch the Rams to fall behind in the first half.
And now the Rams go to Arizona and you have
to inspire your players. Oh, Arizona's dangerous, are they? It's hard?
Speaker 5 (21:56):
But the Rams are in the playoffs. Tampa's fighting for
their lives. By the way, this line is crazy. So
it was yeah, three, now it's two.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
And a half. But here's the wacky part.
Speaker 5 (22:06):
Two weeks ago they played and Tampa was favored in
Carolina by three.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Now they're getting less at home. This feels a little
I don't. I don't know. I don't know what to
do with this game. I'm in a pick them pool?
Who do you pick in this one?
Speaker 3 (22:18):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (22:19):
I don't. It's the end. Now you have to you
have to pick every game. It's a pick them pool
every week. You got to pick every game. I would
I have no feel for the Panthers. I would say Bucks,
but I have no feel none.
Speaker 5 (22:31):
So basically, essentially flip a coin here, right, is that
what you're saying? Yeah, final story, Colin, Oh, this is fun.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
This is really fun.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
So a lot of reports about Mike McDaniel's future in Miami.
Apparently he was gone. Now he saved his job.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
Well, we'll see. One report has.
Speaker 5 (22:48):
Even linked him to the Cleveland Browns if they were
to move on from Kevin Stefanski. The report suggested the
two could swap teams, so McDaniel, who knows a left
handed quarterback, would go there and maybe work with Dylan
Gabriel and Kevin Sefanski would leave Cleveland for Miami, which
(23:09):
is like going from driving like a Civic to a
Porsche and it's like, oh, hello, I had a coach swap.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
That's sexy. No, I mean, I just I would keep
Stefanski where he's at and Mike where he's at. I'm
interested to see who gets the GM job in Miami.
Got a few leads on that, Oh what do you got? Well?
Then just throwing stuff out there the New year. How
about this?
Speaker 5 (23:34):
Instead of texting me updates about the Saints.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
Can you send me something about the GM search in Miami?
I mean the Saints Texas. I'm laughing. I'm like, what's
going on here? Oh all right, Jmick. Well that's the
news and thanks for stopping by The Herd Line News

FS one and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Today is New Year's Even this time of the year,
the staff praise on my giving nature. They now I
get so wrapped up and giving back during the holidays
that I forget to make time for myself and watch
all these meaningless bowl games. There were forty seven last year.
At least we're going in the right direction. There's only
forty one bowl games this year, and we're gonna play
(24:34):
a little game Bowler Blogoney, I did not watch the
game last night that included USC. I'm out. Can't wait
for the College Football Playoff. Love college football. You're d
a role so last year I had tears in my
eyes at some of these. I let's see if you
could do it again.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Here we go, throw it out, Sonoko, sixty seven Oil Bowl.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
That's a bull. I think that is a bull. Wait,
come on, that's sixty seven. You know the six to
seven thing with the kids, that's why they Yeah, oh oh,
I got burned. Okay, okay, okay, next up, Next up?
Bucked Up La Bull hosted by Gronk. Fuck okay, it's
(25:23):
too weird to be fake. That's a bull game. Okay,
it is. That's a real But there's no way our
staff is clever enough to come up with that. I
don't even know what Bucked Up is I like the
light of it either, But Gronk hosted it. Wow, okay,
all right, so there we there we go share it
in Hawaii.
Speaker 5 (25:41):
Bull.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Okay, that is the share it and still a hotel, honestly,
is it? I'm gonna say there's no way again. The
logo looks too good to be fake unless it's AI generated.
I say that's a real that's a bull. Yeah, okay, okay, okay,
all right.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
All right, next up Denny's Moon over My Hammy, all
American bull.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
That is a bullooney fake? All right, we're right. Yeah,
you had me until moons over my Hammy. If you
did just stick with Denny's, I.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Would have been at your City Bowl.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Waymotor City Bowl. Now it's too it's too soon for
the way mo I'm just starting to drive him six
months ago. That is bulooney, that's fake. Nice weyloads are awesome,
by the way they are.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
They are great, very cool game above sports bawl.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
I'm telling the radio audience. All I can tell you
is that logo is really good. So I'm gonna say
that is a bowl. Yeah, we're right on that one.
That's real. Okay.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
TikTok talkie sees the bowl.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Dog donkey, I mean the absurdity baloney. That's baloney, not bowl.
That's fake.
Speaker 6 (27:23):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
By the way, have you had talkies?
Speaker 2 (27:25):
My kids love them.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
I've never don't even know what a talkie is. A
walkie talkie? Okay, go ahead.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by Gin and Jews.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Call me nuts, but Dave Portnoy bought a bowl. Kimmel
bought a bowl. I say that's a bowl. I say
that's a bowl.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
It is.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
I've seen celebrities by bulls. My friend was involved in this,
so I knew that game. Gin and Juice. Is that
a Snoop Dogg drink? Is that his classic Snoop Dogg song?
Speaker 5 (28:00):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (28:01):
Okay, okay.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Morton's Salt and Sugar Bowl.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
Morton's doesn't advertise salt, doesn't advertise you have to have
salt on everything. You don't need to advertise. Wow, that's deep.
I mean, I was like, butter you never see a
I guess there's butter adds. I'm gonna say, beloney. Nice. Yeah,
that's fake. All right? Forty one Buxbox Bowl again, great logo.
Speaker 5 (28:34):
Yeah, there's not even a football, there's it's just like
that controller.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Come on, I think that's a bowl. That's a bowl. Wow,
we are hot. I mean if I missed one yet,
it's too bad. I'm not going to watch any of
these because I'm like, I think I'm an eleven in
a row. Okay, jay Lab Birmingham bull. Oh, I think
that's real. Fact they were a former advertiser. Uh, that's
(29:00):
absolutely real. Yeah, that's a real that's a real jay
Lab's got good ear pods. Yeah, yeah, absolutely real.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
Days in do not disturb, you're a bull.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
First of all, that logo the marketing director should get
canned if that's the real logo. Uh, there's a door
with a do not disturb handle on it. That's funny.
I'm saying that's bloney. Okay, what was a lot time?
Speaker 5 (29:29):
You said it a daze in like thirty five years ago. No, no,
I've stated Hampton, come on, you coastally leaded. No, Hampton's
in a year and a half ago, two years ago. Absolutely, dude.
If you're buy the airport and I got to get
out of town, doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
Okay, Okay, here's the last this is the last one.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Spirit Airlines group of fine bulls.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
I think they went belly up. I don't even think
is that an airline anymore? Oh gosh, bear it? Group
of five bowl at the logo, you guys. I'll say this,
you guys. Our graphics department is putting the work in.
(30:14):
So I think I've got fifteen right in a row.
I'm gonna say, that's boloney, that's not a bowl. We
got it right now? Which one that I miss? I
missed the first one? I really remember.
Speaker 3 (30:27):
What was?
Speaker 1 (30:28):
I think TikTok Talkies was the best genius. So there
were forty seven last year, down to forty one. I oh, okay,
so here's the one I got wrong.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
That Look, that's a.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
I didn't. I didn't get the whole six seven things.
For the record, Could somebody explain that to me?
Speaker 3 (30:49):
What is?
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Nobody can explain it to you. No, nobody knows. I mean,
the kids don't know. It's a big It's just it's
just out there, just a thing. It's culture right now. Okay, So.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
We've got.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
Bowl game tonight Ohio State. I think everybody feels the
exact same way, unless you're a Hurricane fan. Ohio State
wins just a little too much offense. Two good Defenses
twenty one, thirteen twenty one. Tenant's in that the odds
are right. The Raven Steelers is interesting because if Mike
(31:25):
Tomlin wins, he'll be celebrated. Think about that. If he wins,
everybody's gonna go forty two year old quarterback, No DK Metcalf,
no Washington, no defendable run game. Mike Tomlin deserves a
contract extension. If he loses, he's gonna get beat up. Right,
It's gonna be ugly. We don't know if Lamar Jackson's
gonna play. Here is John Harball on that question.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
There was improvement throughout the week. I mean it was.
It was not good at all early in the week,
and it improved as the week went on. And that
was that was cause for you know optimism.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
I think that we have a lot of Compton and
Tyler is a real big positive and real plus, but
doesn't factor into whether Lamar plays.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
If Lamar is ready to go, he's playing, that's it
for sure.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
Uh, he practiced today. So and there's there's stories that
Lamar wants to play in Miami. There are there was
an NFL General managers that says Minnesota would be the
play he's won seventy five percent of his games eight years.
This could be a seventh playoff appearance. I think sometimes
(32:34):
you just got to say thank you for the effort.
He's got a massive cap hit next year, which limits
what they can do, but they draft pretty well, so
it's just been a weird year. It's, you know, practice
doesn't practice. I saw a stat during it could have
been Sunday Night Football or Thursday Night football. They were
talking about how last year top speed was fifteen and
a half miles an hour and this year it's less
(32:55):
than eleven. So he's not as fast, not as twitchy,
and you know, it's this league's brutal. I had a
lot of conversations for years with Michael Vick when he
was at Fox, just about that, and he's like, you know,
the first high school, college, in your first three years
in the pro. You know you can you can make
a lot of hay, but he goes, you'd be amazed
(33:17):
how often, you know, you think you can run over
a safety in high school or college, and then all
of a sudden, you try to run over a safety.
Forget a linebacker, forget a defensive end, just try to
run over a safety. A couple of times in the NFL.
It's just not the same and you just take, you know,
a couple hit pointers, break a toe all of a sudden,
your shoulders always hurt. NFL just beats you up. So
(33:41):
I'm excited tonight the College Football Playoff. We have the
eight best teams, and college football is I think it
was the first sport, baseball in college football with the
sports I initially fell in love with. And NFL's just
kind of taken over everybody's life. But I can't wait
for these games. Fanny getting beat by Iowa, Illinois beat Tennessee,
(34:04):
what happens if the Buckeyes, Indiana, Oregon over the next
two days all win. And those aren't the TikTok talkie
Siesta ball say that
