Speaker 2 (00:45):

TV today.

Netflix debuts Hierarchy. The top zero point one percent of
students controlled the social order of a high school until
a secret of transfer student turns things upside down.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
It's always the new kid, Yeah, okay.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Hulu has becoming Carl Lagerfeld. In nineteen seventy two, an
unknown designer starts a rivalry with a Cotore genius. Saint
laurent I.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Used to have the Lagerfeld cologne. That takes me back.
I think late eighties, early nineties. Laugerfeld was in the rotation.
Speaker 5 (01:22):
They've also got Queenie.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
What's up Queene?
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Based on the best selling book which has been called
The Black Bridget Jones, a Jamaican woman living in London
struggles to fit in with either culture.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Okay, Queenie, you're al Mario Courtney Lopez, and we say
goodbye to a game show legend.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
On with Mario Lopez Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
But well, after forty one seasons, Pat say Jack's final
episode of Wheel of Fortune is tonight. He retires with
the record for longest running game show hosts, surpassing Bob
Barker in twenty nineteen. You know, he started as a
weatherman back in the seventies. In fact, he once reported
about daytime highs and nighttime lows, which inspired the Kenny
(02:04):
Rogers hit Daytime Friends. Fun fact even dabbled in acting
for a little bit in the eighties with Roles and
Days of Our Lives and the movie Airplane two. He
says he's going to spend retirement with his family and
doing crosswords.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Of course he's still doing word placed off.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Yeah, I didn't know that about his past. That's interesting.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
I knew he was a weatherman. I believe he's from Indiana.
But I feel like pat Sajak, if you been watching
the last couple of seasons, he doesn't get excited very easy.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
He's like, oh, that's nice. He's getting a little grumpy.
Speaker 6 (02:36):
Yeah, he's started getting like patience is wearing very really good.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yes, exactly.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Mario Lopez will be right back.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Mario Courtney Lopez here. And this has got me fired up.
I even posted about it. Killian Murphy has signed on
to Peaky Blinders the movie. One of my favorite characters
of all time on TV has to be Thomas Shelby,
who Killian played. Netflix is saying it's going to be
the most explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinder story, no
holds barred, full on war. They've got the series creator
(03:05):
writing the script, in the original director behind the camera
as well. Oh, this is fun. I hope they bring
his brothers back that got killed. And this is a spoiler,
because this is going to do that. This is well,
I'm hoping it's sort of like a movie to encompass
all the episodes, because I have it it could be
where they picked up where they left off, which I
hope is not the case. I hope people back from
(03:26):
the beginning and kind of if you've never seen the show.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
You have to see through the series. So I think
you spoiled some things from me there.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
But the series is cool. It's really cool, such a.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Good it's so well written. Sometimes it's hard to understand.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
Really hard. You got to you got to put subtitles.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Today is such a good story.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Killian Murphy is such a mumbler too, ye, so it
tuks like this.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Well, I'm happy for you guys that you're excited. I'm
looking forward to.
Speaker 5 (03:48):
Another NAT, another NAT.
Speaker 2 (03:52):

Speaker 5 (04:33):

Speaker 1 (04:39):

Speaker 2 (04:40):
I don't know. I don't believe, so I'm not sure maybe,
but I believe. I'm gonna say she's thirty four thirty three.
Michael Sarah from Arrested Development, Scott Pilgrim. He's super awkward.
We talked to him not too long ago. He's funny.
He's on dude, you just look at and start laughing.
I'm gonna say he's forty two three thirty six. Oh, okay, okay,
(05:02):
he's been around a while.
Speaker 6 (05:03):
He also he tried to grow a beard so he
looked older. Bill Hayter from Barry SNL train.
Speaker 5 (05:07):
Wreck, Ali Wong's man, right.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
That's right, very good.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
Bill Hayter is fifty two.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Oh, you're a hater with that. He's only forty seven
forty six. Ooh, that's close.
Speaker 6 (05:23):
And someone else we recently had on the show a legend.
He was in Taken, Taking two, Taking three, Taking in
a graveyard, Taken on a plane, taken on a train.
Speaker 5 (05:31):
God, he's just taken.
Speaker 4 (05:32):

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Or Mario Lopez coming up Rio Courtney Lopez here.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
And if you're old enough to remember the Cola Wars,
this may surprise you. Doctor Pepper has surpassed Pepsi to
become the second best selling soda behind coke. Come on,
who drinks doctor Pepper?
Speaker 4 (06:01):
So my brother does. He's the only person I know,
but he does.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Though I thought it was more of a generational thing,
like my dad, older people drink doctor pepper. Apparently they're
still drinking it. I couldn't even tell you what it
tastes like.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
Yeah, trying to remember, it doesn't.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
It doesn't taste like a coke, right, It's like there's.
Speaker 6 (06:16):
Something not wrong in saying it's almost like a pepsi
but with like a hint of cherry.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
But not cherry pepsi. Well, the recipe is clear on mystery.
It's said to be ripped into two pieces and separated
in vaults in Dallas. Come on now. Legend says it
was ones made with prune juice, but that just seems
to be a Bob Hope joke that stuck. Huh. Good,
Doctor Pepper, still hanging in there.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
More. Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 2 (06:39):

his bachelor pad. His Manhattan apartment has hit the market.
He wants four million for the three bedroom apartment. It
was built in nineteen oh eight. But Benny sooped up

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Well, that's sorry. He's a cook. He's a rest of
people coming out or something right, right.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
So okay, maybe that was the way to Selena's heart
was through stomach.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
Benny souped up the kitchen.

Was that upon maybe probably we'll see what happens with them.

thirty years since the first one came out. No, there's
a lot of rumors out there about Martin not doing
so well. He said he's fine, which, man, I love
me some Martin, so I hope he really is.
Speaker 6 (08:30):

Hollywood buzz.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
So Netflix getting a lot of buzz with a new
doc Dancing for the Devil, the seven m TikTok Cult.
It's about dancers and influencers who are accused of being
part of a cult and the founder is said to
have abused some of his female followers. It all centers
around dancer at Miranda Derek, and she's now speaking out.
She says she is not a victim and she is
not being abused. She says the reason she cut off
(10:43):
her parents and sister is because they didn't understand her
commitment to the church. You know what, that sounds like
a cult. Sounds like she's in a cult exactly.

Meanwhile, a civil lawsuit against the church's pastor.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
We'll go to trial next year. We got to watch
it to watch this.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Robert schen is the cult leader. Alleged cult leader. I
should say, the whole thing is fascinating. It was an agency,
but then it turned into a car. I just want
to know how that transition happened.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Well, what's the turning point?
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Right?
Speaker 1 (11:13):
So weirdo Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Next, Mario Courtney Lopez here and we find something to
celebrate every day. What is today's holiday, honey?
Speaker 5 (11:22):
It is guys National Donut Day.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Oh shout out to Golden Donut in our neighborhood. They
are a family owned small business that is so old school.
They only take cash and they close every day by
one pm or when they run out or when they
run out, whichever comes first. How they stay in business,
I don't know. But they open like at five in
the morning, four or five in the morning. Not a
front for something well, I'm that I can't account for.
(11:48):
But they opened like at four or five. It's a
mom and pop shop. They only take cash and they're
done by one.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
How are the donuts amazing?
Speaker 5 (11:55):
Very good? Sunny is a regular? They know's name?
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Yes, of course, Mario Lopez here and my wife Courtney,
and we've got your first look at the season four
of Emily and Peri. Alfie still appears to be in

I know the rom COM's return to Netflix on August fifteenth,
but you can see a sneak peek now at onwomrio
dot com.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Yoh, Mario, Courtney Lopez. Time for another fake debate where
the topics are made up on the spot, but the
passion is completely real. Who's pro and who's con?
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Today?
Speaker 4 (12:27):
You will be pro because you were calling last week.
Speaker 6 (12:29):
Courtney will be uh con and you have fifteen seconds
to make your case. Ten second rebuttal your topic today?
In honor of today's obscure holiday, National Donut Day is
donut holes.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
I am pro donut holes. Yes, donut would not be
a donut without a donut hole. It would just be
a piece of bread. And what makes the donut special
With the holes, you stick your finger in it. It's
easy to grab, it's distinguishable. Do not mess with perfection.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
I'm con the little round one.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
Your con donut holes, the little ones.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
You know, donut holes are very deceiving. I think the
thing about a regular donut is that you know how
the caloric intake. Donut holes you don't know, and you
just eat, then then you're obese.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
Mister Lopez.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
First of all, regular donut does have a hole in it.
That's why it's called a donut. And you probably like
those little bowls that go into the little hole that defeat.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
The whole purpose of a donut.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Lopez, you know you just can overindulge and it's not
good for your gut.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Let's know, you think one.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Tell Mario what do you think? On Twitter at sawn
with Mario More Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 6 (13:45):
What up?
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Mario Courtney Lopez. Here in the success of shows like
Yellowstone is giving us a genre of television. They're calling
it dad TV. This includes series like Reacher, outer range
Jack Ryan and Bosh. Amazon CEO says, look for more
programming targeting the forty plus demographic in the future. You know,
all those shows are are pretty it sounds harsh. Well,
(14:09):
here's the thing, So I'm gonna tell you why I
think it's working. Those are very masculine shows, sort of
throwback old school, and we're missing a lot of that
in TV these days.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
Yeah, like the good old days exactly.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
Yeah, it's like the old times.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Maryo Courtney Lopez here make a trainer shooting her shot.
She's been promoting her new album, but she says she
wants nothing more in life than to replace Katy Perry
on American Idol. She personally was telling me this on
my show Access Daily, and she made a toll plead
of the camera. By the way, I think she'd be great.
She broke the fourth wall, she did. She broke Harris
Mueller style, broke the fourth wall. Made her plea but
(14:46):
she's passionate about it. She writes her own music.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
No, she has all the credit.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
She's got a great personality. Yeah, you know, so, I
think she would be great. She's already been part of
the show, serving as a coach this season. Not sure
when she would have time to do it though, because
they're timeless. Tour kicks off in September, so we'll see
you're all, Mario Courtney Lopez. Before we take off for
the weekend, we're going to give you the final word
with our comment of the week. What do we gotty?
Speaker 3 (15:10):

I'm at my own surprise party and all I can think.
Speaker 5 (15:16):
Is, so all you guys have a group chat without me.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
That's true, that's true. That's uh. You need to jump
on that.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
Yeah, but it was for you.
Speaker 5 (15:24):
It was for you, so you should be feel honored.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
But carry it out like, keep it going.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
