a big inspirational event coming up with author David Meltzer.
We're gonna get the scoop on that.

and Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Mario Courtney Lopez. Let's take a look at what's on
TV today.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
What do we got?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Hulu has hip high intellectual potential. Morgan has three children,
two x's, and an IQ of one hundred and sixty.
Her life has turned upside down when she's offered a
job as a consultant to the police. That's a lot
of information.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
That is a lot of information. That's hope she uses
that to solve some cases.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Stars has The Serpent Queen, a historical drum about Catherine
de Medici, the sixteenth century queen of France. Oh all right,
and Netflix debuts Exploding Kittens. I really hope they're not.
It's the ultimate fight between good and evil when God
and the spawn of Satan are sent to earth as
talking cats.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Wow, that's a premise. Whoa Okay Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Here And if you haven't heard the news yet, we
added more artists the iHeart Radio Music Festival now on
the bill. Dua Lipa in Halsey, girl Power representing this year.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
That's right with one st Funny Camilakabo, Doja Cat and Paramore.
So many more artists. It's September twentieth and twenty first
in Vegas. I can't believe we're talking about September already.
You can get the tickets at on with Mario dot com.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Oh, Maril Courtney Lopez, let's blow out the candles on
today's celebrity birthdays and try to guess the agents.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
Who do We got from Fast and Furious Michelle Rodriguez,
she is forty four, forty one, forty six Okay, to
for Grace.

Speaker 6 (01:53):
From that seventies show.

Speaker 7 (01:55):
I think he had another show on ABC called Home Economics.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Briefly, Toafer's gotta be forty Turfer.

Speaker 6 (02:02):
Turfer is the target.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Looking reminds me of Tofu every time I say that
name tofu is what did you say?

Speaker 7 (02:14):
I said, forty eight, forty six and from sweating to
the oldies back in the day and now a bit
of a recluse.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Richard Simmons would probably be him finally for Halloween for years.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I know, well, now that we know that he's alive, healthy,
I think it's the year you should be.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Jane Fonda.

Speaker 6 (02:34):
By the way, he is.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Eighty seventy six.

Speaker 6 (02:39):
Seventy six is correct.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Wow, you just looked at your phone, said it with conviction,
and then put.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
I did not look and you can look at my safari. Nothing.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
I don't want to look at your Safari.

Speaker 8 (02:50):
Dang more.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Mario Courtney Lopez with some quick buzz for you. A
new line Cinema is pulling Horizon to from theaters in August.
The Oh gosh, I really wanted to see Horizon one.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
I hope it's still in theaters.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
The first volume of Kevin Costner's Western epic hasn't been
a box office hit, so the studio wants to give
audiences more time to discover it before releasing part two.
Chapter one, by the way, will become available on demand
on Tuesday, So evidently I'm not gonna have to go
to the movies to watch it. We can watch it
at home. And you know, this is the movie that
Kevin Costner put his own money in. But with all

(03:25):
due respect, I would go see it.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
I like Kevin Costner.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I love me some Westerns, but that's asking a lot
of an audience to sit for three and a.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Half hours for a Western.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Nowadays, when you're competing with Marvel and all these other
kind of films.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Nothing should be three and a half hours.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
I don't mind a long movie.

Speaker 9 (03:44):
I do.

Speaker 7 (03:45):
The only time a movie should be that long is
if I'm on a flight that's much longer than that.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
You see, You guys need to appreciate art. I don't
mind it if it's good. Mario Lopez. Here, my wife Coretney.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
You want to give a shout out to Alexander the
Dario from The White Lotus and Chewed Detective. She's expecting
her first baby with film producer Andrew farm Nice.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
She kept the pregnancy under wraps for the past six months,
but can hide the baby bump any longer. You know,
sometimes when it's your first baby, your bump takes longer
to come out, so it's easier to do. I'm just speculating.
I don't know if that was her case, but anyway, congratulations.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Time from us see movies is more.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Courtney Lopez's taking a look at everything that's come to
theaters and streaming.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
This weekend Long Legs It's in theaters. A new FBI
recruit is assigned the unsolved case of an elusive serial
killer played by Nicholas Cage.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
This is supposed to be the scariest movie of the year, really,
according to Lee's Wow, so.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Because Nicholas Cage isn't it.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
It's The trailer was pretty creepy, so I don't mind
checking this out.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Fly Me to the Moon It's in theaters. Sparks fly
between Scarlett Johansson and NASA official Channing Tatum as he
prepares for the Apollo eleven landing.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
Yeah, the premise is kind of its kind of bizarre.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
Yeah, Channing Tatum working for NASA.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Well yeah, but then it's I saw a preview this morning,
and then it's in case it doesn't work, they have
to film a movie or something in case.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
The landing does not happen. They were going to air
a scene of it happening.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
Which is which is?

Speaker 3 (05:19):
That's why I said it's very well because there is
a conspiracy well where they say it didn't really happen.

Speaker 7 (05:25):
Yeah, so there's all the conspiracy theories that the moon
landing was faked in a sound stage in Burbank. And
the truth is that some of the footage you see
is real, and some of the footage is them doing
like practice stuff on Earth because some of the footage
got destroyed or lost or something. So some of it
is real, some of it is fake that you see.
All right, Well, I don't know which is which.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Descendants The Rise of Red. It's on Disney Plus. Red
and Chloe must put aside their differences and travel back
in time to save Aredom.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
I just interviewed you done?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Are you done?

Speaker 3 (05:56):
I'm done? I'm sorry, go ahead.

Speaker 6 (06:01):
She's drunk, It's fine. Who'd you interview?

Speaker 2 (06:05):
I interviewed Brandy, who was in that movie now and
she's now like an elder statesman.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
She's so cool though. I like Brandy.

Speaker 6 (06:14):
She's always been very nice, very nice.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
And very talented. She can rap, she can sing.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Touch It's in theaters. A widower sets out on a
journey to find his first love who disappeared fifty years
ago before his time runs out.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
He's now going after fifty years?

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Whoa more Mario Lopez on the way Yamaro Courtney Lopez
and Ellen says she's done.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
On with Mario. Hollywood was so.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Ellen DeGeneres has been getting ready to film her Netflix
comedy special, but after that, she says she's completely quitting showbiz.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
A more stand up and more TV know nothing.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
She says she won't even do voice acting if they
decide to make another Finding Nemo. Friends say she plans
to do a lot of volunteer work to help animals.
No One was the biggest thing on TV for a
good ten fifteen years almost, and then all kinds of
rumors started coming out about her with staff and all that,
and wow quickly quickly changed. Well, one thing I do

(07:10):
know about Ellen. One she was always very very nice
to me, and two she's made a lot of money.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
She's gonna be just fine.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
But if they do another Finding Nemo, she has to
do it, it won't be the same.

Speaker 6 (07:21):
It'll be Jojo Siwa this time. Huh hey Nemo.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Or Mario Lopez coming up?

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Mario Courtney Lopez. Here was some quick buzz. Pat Sajak
trying to walk away from the game show Life, but
they keep bringing him back in, even though he just
retired earlier this year. He's agreed to return for Celebrity
Wheel of Fortune that's going to air in prime time
this fall. No word yet which celebrities will be competing.
You know, my mom really wants me to play that.

Speaker 6 (07:48):
Well I do too.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
You want to play?

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Honey?

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Do I have to fight your mom?

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Here's the thing?

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Oh if there's just two people, Oh.

Speaker 6 (07:58):
What if we do around here between Courtney and your
mom to decide who gets to play with you?

Speaker 1 (08:03):
Oh that's good.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Let's have a competition.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
No, I just want to do.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
The wheel one time. I just want to just got.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
To spin it, spin it all right, Well, we'll have
to see about all that, but right now, let's get
back to music. Mario Lopez here, We're gonna play a
couple more songs and get to today's guest. He is

(08:29):
stand there, Dane Cook and author David Meltzer. They're throwing
an event next Friday called the Collab.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Sounds like it's part business advice, part therapy. We'll find
out what it's all about next.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
It's up bron Mario Lopez joining me now on Zoom,
comic Dane Cook, and author David Meltzer.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
Welcome to the show, gentlemen.

Speaker 8 (08:45):
I all doing great to be here man, Thank you
Mario right.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
On, fantastic, Thanks for taking the time, and congrats y'all
are coming together for a special event called the Collab.

Speaker 9 (08:55):
What's it about, Well, I'll get started on that. The
Colab was dame brainchild of combining philosophy theories, spirituality practices
with some fun comedy and bringing the best out of
Dane not only with his extraordinary humor, but bringing out

(09:17):
the deep thinker that he is and trying his best
to bring out a little bit of humor and a
little bit of genius from me. And it's a great collaboration,
but also allowing everyone else to collaborate with us, not
just there in person, but online streaming as well.

Speaker 8 (09:33):
I'll say that, you know, when I first met David,
who I was already previously a fan of before we
had a chance to podcast, the real kind of sympatico
that happened when David and I were communicating was there
are still ways to get so much valuable data from
people who've had some successful endeavors and certainly follow on

(09:56):
your face moments, but when you can add that humor element,
it just makes sometimes a learning moment even more enticing,
because I think that it's safe to say everybody here,
everybody listening when you're going through it. If there's a
way to have some levity and some humor, it just

(10:18):
kind of helps with the conditioning and getting things moving again.
So once we had that communicado, I felt like we
could probably do something with our backstories, which are pretty tumultuous.
But at the same time, David and I like to
have a good time, and we want the audience to
have a great time.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
I like it. It's heavy, but enlightening and fun and.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
I'm sure I'm sure funny. Well, you can get tickets
and info over the clab at all Mario dot com.
At whole time, we got to take a break. We're
gonna go back with Dane Cook and David Meltzer.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Mario Lopez here and talking with Dane Cook and David
Meltzer and who we're teaming up with the collab next Friday.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Who's some of the people that audiences can expect to see.

Speaker 9 (10:56):
Man, We're blessed. Rob Wriggle saw that Dane and I
were doing. We actually did this in Las Vegas for
VIPs A Dinner, which like sold out in three hours.
Everybody wanted to see it. But Wriggle flew back from
filming in London and he said, David, I'd love to
MC this event. So Rob Wriggle's going to MC and

(11:16):
host the event. And then people like Baron Davis and
Marshall falk I used to run the most notable sports
agency in the world, So of course once they saw
Dane and Rob Wriggle there, every single Hall of Famer
Nick Lowry and then some of the transformational people stepped up,
John assroof, Maria Diamond, even Diane Cannon. The Legend Academy

(11:37):
Award winning Diane Kennington out dance all of us at
eighty eight years old. So we're gonna have an eclectic
group of all stars at YouTube Theater on July nineteen
for Super Excited.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
Oh that's a fun venue.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
We'll go to onnoy dot com for tickets and infu
Hold on, guys, got to play more music. Mario Lopez,
you're talking to the next Friday's event, the Collab with
Dane Cook and David Meltzer, and there's also going to.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Be hot seat coaching with audience members.

Speaker 9 (12:03):
How's that work, Daniel, Well, we're going to bring up
Rob's actually going to bring people up from the audience
that just asked us questions about life. Since we've paid
the dummy tax, you know, that's what I wanted to
name the show, the dummy Tax. But since we've paid
that dummy tax, we've lost between the two of us
a lot in our lives by surrounding ourselves with the

(12:25):
wrong people and the wrong ideas. We both feel very
confident that we can answer any question coming from the
audience between the two of us and also bring an entertaining,
like you said, a levity to some really deep things
that have happened not only to us, but we have
found that for some reason, we bring the worst out
of people meanings. We make them comfortable and illuminating all

(12:46):
the screw ups they've had, and they want our help.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
All right, Well, the Collab is going down next Friday.
Just going to onll Mario dot com for tickets, And
I got one more thing I want to ask you guys.
But first let's place more music here a Mario Lopez
rapping things that with Dane Cook and David Meltzer, and
you guys are trying to explain to me about how
your event, the collab is gonna work next Friday.

Speaker 8 (13:04):
Mario, you can almost think of think of it like
roast battle, but like therapy battle. Yeah, it's a real
it's a real spitfire way I'm from. I'm from Boston,
born and raised. And one thing that you know, in
an Irish Catholic family, with a lot of bodies moving around,
you had to kind of get to the core of
whatever the elephant was in the room pretty quickly, whether

(13:26):
you wanted to or not. And that's been actually very
valuable and certainly the way Dave and I kind of
speed date when it comes to how we communicate with
with audience, which is, let's ask tough questions quick, you know,
let's go we call like the hard conversations. Need to
knee where you can sit and know that like, hey,
it's a safe environment and all anybody's looking to do

(13:49):
is try to untie that knot so you can get
moving towards your successful endeavors quicker and We know that
there's a lot of different places that provide a lot
of different information, but I think where this is different,
and I think that beyond just the entertainment value of
the night, I think that people are going to really
sense that it's a very organic, authentic undertaking, kind of

(14:12):
like an AMIEBA. It's going to move in different ways.
We don't quite know what to expect outside of a
little bit of our framework, and I think that's where
we are in our best zones when we can be
very assertive, sometimes a little edgy assertive, but that's okay.
We're all grown ups, and hopefully everybody leaves with a
little bit more data but also feels like they just

(14:34):
had a great night getting to know some new friends.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
I bet you leeve inspired as well. That's my kind
of show man.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
I'm looking forward to hopefully checking it out if schedule permits.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Congratulations, that's very very clever. Listen.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Tickets are now on sale for the collab, which is
going down July nineteenth at the YouTube Theater at SOFI Stadium,
great venue.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
Dane David, thanks so much for hanging out.

Speaker 6 (14:58):
Thank you absolutely, Mario, good to see you. Thank you you.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
Too, man. Congrats on the show.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
You're the full interview now at on with Mario dot
Com More Mario Lopez on the Way.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Mario Courtney Lopez. Here, we find something to celebrate every
single day. What is today's holiday?

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Today is a simplicity day.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
I kind of celebrate that every day. I think I
like to keep things pretty simple. Wouldn't you say?

Speaker 3 (15:20):
Yes, in an organized chaos type of way, in.

Speaker 6 (15:26):
A simplistic, chaotic way.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
But you do a lot.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Well, no, I do a lot, But I'm saying I'm not.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
When I think simplicity, I think without the bells and
whistles and bougie stuff.

Speaker 6 (15:38):
Yeah, just bare minimal and you don't have like an
entourage going to the gym with you and stuff like.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
No, we don't need much during the day.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Yeah, so yeah, So keep it simple today, kids. What
aut Mario Courtney Lopez. Here, My man Paul walter Hauser
is apologizing to Vin Diesel. He recently called out Vin.
I saw this on social media, saying he's late on
approachable and mistreats people.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
Well, he's not the first guy to say that.

Speaker 6 (16:05):
The Rock said it too.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
The Rock said it loud, very loud. However, Paul is
now taking it all back. He was just shooting off
at the mouth, he says, And he says, Vin makes
many people happy with his movies.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Now I follow Paul.

Speaker 6 (16:17):
I did not see this.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Was it a static poster and it was.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
A static No, it was a static post and it.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Was a picture of him, like tell me Anny backstory.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Yeah, there was a picture and I guess he was
working together and he basically said all the same stuff.
The Rock and a few other people have said so.
Maybe because he's like a good guy and a strong Christian,
he's taken it back and trying to take the high road.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
But did he delete it that?

Speaker 9 (16:38):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
I will have to say at least yes, But it
doesn't matter once people take shots and it's out there
all right. Let's get back to the musical Mario Courtney
Lopez to for another fake debate where the topics are.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
Made up on the spot, but the passion is real.
Who's pro and who is con?

Speaker 6 (16:53):
Today? You will be conn and missus Lopez will be pro.

Speaker 7 (16:55):
You have fifteen seconds make your case, ten second rebottal
your topic today since we know the other day for
a National Dimple Day is dimples.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Oh pro dimples dimples.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Dimples are even though they are a deformity, you're supposed
to be pro they are a positive deformity because they
make you shine when you're still being a little jerk,
Like even when you're night, you're being me and Mario,
you still look nice.

Speaker 6 (17:25):
Just took a turn that was not very I'm saying
they're good con dimples.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
Con.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
I can't think of a con for dimple tones. I'm kidding,
I'm kiddy. You know their birth.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
Effects in your face. I used to get teased. People
call me Mario the Oreo and my dad has them.
I have them now, both my sons have them. They're
going to be able to get away with a lot
more if.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
They're charming and they're not really learning anything because I
don't know anything about math.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
And I I put that because I had nimples. You guys,
I was able to charm my teachers.

Speaker 6 (18:01):
You got through math by flashing her dimples?

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Yes, I charmed my teachers. He's like, okay, you get bat.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
You know, you can store things in them, depending on
how deep they are, like an extra carry on on
a you take carey, So.

Speaker 10 (18:18):
Thanks mister. And then people get dimples sometimes in the
weirdest places. Oh, I have them all over my butt, right,
So those kind of dimples we are not. I'm a
fan of yours, honey, but other people's I'm not.

Speaker 6 (18:30):
I hope not.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
I would hope not, Lopez, Maryal Courtney Lopez. Here are
some quick buzz for you.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
We want to say congrats to Olivia Mann and comic
John Mulaney, who recently tied the knot.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
They have a baby.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Of course, Law and Orders Sam Watterson was the efficient.
He and Olivia star together in the news room. I
remember that, and like I mentioned, they do have a
two year old son named Malcolms.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Oh that's cool, that's great.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Congratulations Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Here in Wood continues to mourn the loss of actress
Shelley Duvall. She had been in hospice for diabetes complications
over the last few months, and she was best known
for her roles in movies like The Shining, which I
recently learned took over a year to make.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
That seems wild thirteen months for a movie.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
Why do you know why?

Speaker 4 (19:18):
I don't know, but that was just bizarre.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
And Popeye, which she was perfectly cast. Robin Williams was Popeye.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
And she was olive oil and she was seventy five
years old at the time of her passing.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Well she had a great life.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
Yes, God bless y'all. Marl Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Before we take off of the weekend, we're gonna give
you the final word with our comment of the week.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
What do we got, honey?

Speaker 3 (19:40):
This is from at friggin French. Oh love that name.
I wish there was technology that let you pay based
on salary, Like for me, this coffee is two dollars,
but for the car for a Kardashian it's twenty thousand.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Well, freaking French. That's what they're trying to do with
taxes and not fair frigging French. I do not like
that because why punish success?

Speaker 3 (20:02):
I say, that's friggin unfair.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
Yes, that is friggin unfair. Thank you, pardon my French.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Want to be the tweet of the week. Tweet us
on with Mario and hang on because Mario Lopez, we'll
be right back.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
All right, we're out.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
Here pull steam head into the weekend, but we're back.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
