But yeah, I remember when I used to buy postage
stamps by the sheet.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Well, yeah, they were a quarter. What are they now?

they don't ever expire.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
Yes, get you sneaking in a corner?

Speaker 3 (02:42):

Speaker 1 (09:13):
I can see that.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
With all that said, Don Henley has got to be

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Maorio Courtney Lopez here.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
I heard Radio Yestera Latina returns to Miami for eleventh year.
This time it's presented by the all new Nissan Kicks.
We've got some of the biggest Latin artists in the
world hitting the stage, including Fade, who was also receiving
the Guarason Latino Award, plus Sebastian Yatra, Manuel Durisso and
so many more.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Oh that sounds so great. Come to Miami to see
it live on October twenty sixth. Tickets go on sale
tomorrow and you can find I'm at imamarrio dot com.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
What aout Mario Lopez here.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Today's guest has been part of some big franchises, Twilight,
Take In the Walking Dead. It's actress Maggie Grace and
her new movie is all about a guy who believes
he can learn how to fly. It's called The Secret
Art of Human Flight. We're going to learn all about
it after a few more songs. It's Ubria al Mario
Lopez joining me now on Zoom for the new movie
The Secret Art of Human Flight actress Maggie Grace.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Welcome to the show, Maggie, Thanks for having me, Thanks for.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Taking the time. Congratulations on the film. Uh seems pretty
high concept.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
What's it about.

Speaker 6 (10:47):
Well, it's it's one young man's attempt to work through
grief and some rather whimsical and unusual ways. It's not
as so as I think it seems, though it does
deal a lot with grief. It certainly has a playfulness
which threw me to it as well.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
And what is your character doing in all.

Speaker 6 (11:09):
This, Wendy who kind of helps to midwife him through
the experience. He believes he can learn to fly at
one point. So I wonder perhaps if Wendy is a
slight allusion to Peter Pan. But she's a neighbor who's

(11:32):
lost her husband and can kind of come alongside, and
she's less a mentor as someone else who can just be,
you know, be with him in this time and kind
of reassure.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Yeah, it sounds like a crucial part of his life
that he needs there. Nice Well, congrats on that The
Secret Art of Human Flights in theaters. Now gotta take
a little break. We're gonna come back with Maggie Grace.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
More fun on the way on with Mario.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Mario Lopez Here, My guest today is Maggie Grays from
the movie The Secret Art of Human Flight. And you're
also in Blackwater Lane And I know.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
You filmed that in the UK. What was that fun?
What's out about?

Speaker 6 (12:13):
That was really fun?

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (12:16):
It was. It was a whole family affair. I brought
my parents and my son to England.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Oh fun.

Speaker 6 (12:22):
I have to have my head checked. I think that
it was really fun and gosh, you know, I can't
give too much away with that, but it's.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
It's a bit of a thriller, okay.

Speaker 6 (12:33):
But we had a great time and got to do
a lot of our own stunts. And we were in
this beautiful old estate in the east of England, just
outside of Norwich, so really wonderful place and had a
lot of character to it and if you believe in ghosts,
felt very haunted.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Ooh okay, I like me a thriller too.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
How did you balance having the family there because there's
long hours on set and I'm sure the last thing
you want to do is go and entertain and run
around town when you need to study and rest, right, I.

Speaker 6 (13:06):
Mean I'm a bit of a nerd anyway, a lot
of early nights. But but yeah, it was fun. Nor
is such a beautiful place. It's kind of you know,
has an industrial past but a maker present, kind of
like I guess Pittsburgh in the US. I love it there,
and we got to see a lot of history and

(13:26):
walk a coublestone streets and yeah, I mean I was
just trying to spend as much time as I could
with my little son when I wasn't at work.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
So yeah, are you from Pittsburgh?

Speaker 1 (13:41):
No?

Speaker 6 (13:42):
I just I think it's a great example of you know,
American ingenuity with a sort of industrial feel.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
But there's not it.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Okay, now I get it, fair enough, Okay, hold on, Maggie,
you got to play some more music. What a mar
Lopez here? Got actress Maggie Gray on zoom with me.
And it's been ten years since the last Taken movie.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Do they ever try to make a fourth film?

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (14:07):
Good on hope not at that point. It's just bad parenting.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Right right right? However, the world love to get everyone together.
That would be fun, That would be fun. I get it.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
The world of Walking Dead, though, keeps expanding. Would you
be open to returning to that universe?

Speaker 3 (14:25):
Oh gosh, yeah yeah.

Speaker 6 (14:27):
I mean that's that's a really fun franchise, very tight cast.
So yeah, people come and come back sometimes as long
as they are you know, a zombie. Right.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
That would be twenty twenty hours in the makeup chair,
right there. Hold on, Maggie, got to play some more music.
You're a Mario Lopez. My guest today is actress Maggie Race,
whose new movie is called The Secret Art of Human Flight.
But the show Lost is having a bit of a resurgence. Dude,
do fans still want to ask you about Channon?

Speaker 6 (14:58):
I get asked about Lost all the I think it
was just released on Netflix this week for the twenty year,
which just throws me for a loop. I mean, yeah,
it's sort of like my my college experience, you know.
I wish they would do something with that one, or

(15:19):
even a cast reunion anything.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Really, how do we be like dream? How did you
find out about your character being killed? Oh?

Speaker 6 (15:27):
I got a very kind and respectful, you know, conference
call from all the producers.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
I mean, you know, when everybody's on.

Speaker 6 (15:39):
Yeah, you're like this is either really good or really bad. Right, Yeah, well.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
We know that ended.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Hey, I gotta take a short break. One more thing
I want to ask you though, the whole tight We're
gonna have more with Maggie Grace on the way.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
You're the full interview now on with Mario dot Com.
More Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Mario Lopez here, rapid things up with actress Maggie Grace.
And you mentioned your son earlier.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
How old is he now?

Speaker 6 (16:04):
He's almost four? And I have a daughter who's one.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Oh that's fun.

Speaker 6 (16:08):
So yeah, I'm busy.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
That's great one to each.

Speaker 6 (16:12):
Trying to reconcile. As you said, like the nature of
our work and that kids really thrive and love routine.
So those two things require some juggling.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Yeah, well you're making it all work, so good for you.
Congratulations on everything, and listen. You can watch The Secret
Art of Human Flight in theaters now and available on
demand on August twenty third.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
Now, thanks for hanging out.

Speaker 6 (16:38):
Thanks lovely to see you.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
You two. Take care.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Mario Courtney Lopez here. And there's something to celebrate every
single day. What's today's holiday, honey?

Speaker 4 (16:47):
Today is National Hammock Day.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
All, I'll do a good hammock.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
Love me a hammock.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
You always see them in hotels, but you don't ever
see a hammock in a home and hotels. Yeah, like
when you're out in resorts and stuff. You see them
at big front hotels.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
I should say, yeah, but you.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Rarely see them at home. And all you need is
two trees to get a hammock. We have a cute
picture of both of our boys sleeping in a hammock.
But but to be they don't look very comfortable with
the rope. How It's kind of like it's deceiving because
it is pretty comfortable. It kind of like, yeah, it
kind of cradles you like you're in your mommy's tummy again.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Yes, exactly.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
You take a little You don't want to sleep there
all night, but a nap is good.

Speaker 5 (17:33):
It's something swaddled by rope.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
All Mario Courtney Lopez, Netflix pulling the plug on its
dock about Princepez Hollywood. But so this is a bit
of a bummer. For the past four years, Netflix has
been developing a six part documentary on Prince It was
made by the same director who did Oj in America.
But now they're completely scrapping it. Apparently they watched a

(17:57):
rough cut and it was filled with dramatic factual inaccuracies
and sensationalized depictions of his life.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
Princess.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
The state is withholding the rights to his music, which
would make any doc unwatchable. So that's the real issue
right there. I'm sure they wouldn't scrap it after four years,
but if the estate's not gonna lend.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
Any of his music, then that defeats the whole purpose. Wow,
what a waste of time.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
See this bothers me though, because a documentary is supposed
to be about this person, and when you make things,
I get you do things that may be a little
bit more dramatic for TV, but inaccuracies and sensationalized depictions
of his life that aren't necessarily true.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Like, that's not a documentary. This is according to his
estate though, So maybe they just don't want to see
him portrayed that way. I don't think they'd venture too
far off because people can then come back and sue you.
But sometimes, unfortunately, and I know because making documentaries, people
don't want to have their subjects perceived a certain way,

(18:58):
even if it's true. Yeah, they want to see things
through a certain prism, so it's unfortunate.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
More Mario Lopez coming.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
Up, You're a Mario Courtney Lopez. Time now for one
last thing.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
A rich boomer couples being labeled selfish and privileged after
they revealed that they're burning through their children's inheritance with
luxury vacations. Leanne and Leon Ryland have spent more than
one hundred and seventy thousand dollars since their retirement, visiting Peru, India,
Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
They say their sons will.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Inherit the shelf of junk with all the souvenirs of
their travels.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Ah.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
They've even started a Facebook group called ski Club, which
stands for spending kids inheritance cold as ice.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
Well this is awful?

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Well?

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Is it because some people have an attitude like, you
know what, I worked hard for it, I made it.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
We should be enjoying it. We should leave the.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Kids with the tools to create their own fortune.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
Okay, so maybe I'm just confused. This is the parents'
money that they would leave to the kids once they
passed away.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
Corrected.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Instead, they're saying, you know what, We're going to enjoy
our golden years and spend it right now.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
