win it this time we'll serve up some holiday justice
in Courtney's court and just a few songs away from
honoring a good deed, So turn it up. Wednesday edition
of On with Mario and Courtney Lopez starts now.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
You're all Mario Courtney Lopez, And every week we like
to search the net for good news and honor a
good deed with a Lopezi Award. So let's see who
gets the honor for our good deed Lopezi this week.

Speaker 5 (00:43):
Well, this week we are honoring John Richart, who lives
in Iowa. So John who's created a heartwarming tradition for
his wife, Joan, who has Alzheimer's disease. So John and
Joan got engaged on Christmas Eve fifty four years ago,
so the holiday, of course, has always been spreshold today
this year, to bring joy to Joan, John convinced all

(01:05):
eighteen homeowners in their neighborhood to put up tons of
Christmas decorations. John even helped them all decorate their homes
and this collective effort has transformed their street into a
festive wonderland to lift Joanes spirits. John says that every
effort and expense was worth it just to see his
wife happy, and even better, it brought the community much closer.

(01:27):
I'm sure working together on something like that, you get
to know your neighbors a lot more.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
Good for John out here being a real Chris Kringle
with his FESTI joy.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Nice Happy Holidays to you and yours. This is on
with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
Speaking of NBC, set a reminder for tomorrow morning, our

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Cool All Mayo, Courtney Lopez, Time to serve up some
holiday Just as all rise for the Honorable Courtney Lopez,
it is time for Courtney's court.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Now.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Today's case is actually something I posted about, and I
want to get our judges ruling. People magazine had a
headline that said airline passenger refuses to switch seats to
appease child having a tantrum despite parents please, to which
I said, a stranger's not responsible for your child's tantrum.
You need to take care of your child. But what

(03:20):
does the honorable miss Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
Okay, so let me get this straight. The child was
sitting with the family but wanted to sit in another seat,
and that's why hence he threw a tantrum. Correct, Okay,
I want a ton of things, but just because I
want it doesn't mean I'm going to get it. So exactly,
I would tell our kid, this is your seat. This

(03:44):
is where you stay. If not, we're getting off this plane.
By the way, do you want me to turn this
plane around?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Right? Exactly? That's a good worst threat ever.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
If the child is over let's say six years old,
then they can sit on their own. I think if
they have a tablet of phone or something under six,
then I think if they're separated for whatever reason, then
I think it's not rude to politely ask, hey, you
know what, my my child's small. We should did you
mind we switch?

Speaker 5 (04:09):
Kind of one hundred percent just.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Because just because the kid wants to seat or something.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
I don't think any person wants to sit next to
a toddler that isn't there. So I would be happy
gladly give you my exactly, but no, the parent needs
to tell the child this is not your seat. No,
that's it exactly.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
The countdown at Christmas continues in moments. This is On
with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (04:34):

singer Christina Melian. Not only does she have a new
Christmas movie on Netflix, but she's starring in the Dexter Preque,
which premiere is this weekend. She's gonna join us next.
So girl Mario Lopez joining me right now on Zoom.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Actress and singer my girl, Christina Milian. How are you.

Speaker 6 (05:10):
I'm great, Maria.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
How are you well? Nice to see you again. First off,
congrats you're starring in a great new Christmas movie that's
a hit. Meet Me Next Christmas, produced for my homie
gild the Monster.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Mark roberts Over on Netflix.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
For those who may not be familiar with what's the premise
of the.

Speaker 6 (05:28):
Film, the premise of the film is a girl who's
on the hunt for love. She's she meets a guy
named James at the airport and makes his pack like
they have this amazing synergy, and when they leave, they
make this pack that if they if fate allows, then
a year from now they would meet each other at
a Pentatonics concert. And all of a sudden, a year

(05:49):
later comes up and she's like, she remembers this, has epiphany,
like James said, we could meet there. She's single and
she so then she's on the hunt for Pensatonics tickets
because they're sold out everywhere, and so she hires Teddy
at impromptu to help her, and he's like a concierge
service to help her find her tickets. And so it's
her in New York City on this crazy goose hunt

(06:10):
for these tickets and it's actually really really very.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Cute and and Pentatonics is of course in the film.
Nice guys, we've had, We've had him in the how'd
you like working with them?

Speaker 6 (06:20):
You have? Okay, they're great. I love Pentatonics. They're actually
you know, we most of my scenes were not necessarily
with them until like later on in the end. We
have our big scene at the end. But then as
times proceeded and we've done like promo and stuff, we've
gotten to meet them and they're so cool. And then
like in the movie, they're so funny. They're really funny
in the movie, Like I love their personalities. I actually

(06:41):
like feel like I got to like I want to
be their best friend.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
After What's That's great? Meet me Next Christmas Streaming now
on Netflix, Hangkti Christina Gonna take a quick break. They
can have more with Christina Milion cop.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
The countdown at Christmas continues in Moments This is On
with Mario.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
Lopez getting back to Christina Milion who's on zoom Us
mari A Lopez here. Her new holiday movie Meet Me
Next Christmas, is streaming now on Netflix and this Friday.
We've also got a new show coming to Paramount plus
Dexter Original Sin, which is prequel, of course, to the
hit show Oh Tell Me About This, Oh Man.

Speaker 6 (07:15):
So Dexter Original Sin is the prequel to the original.
It's a young Dexter Morgan and him kind of like
exploring and really like giving. He's trying to figure out
what this urge is that he has to be a
serial killer, and he kind of expresses this to his dad,
and his dad helps him channel this energy because it's inevitable,

(07:38):
like this trauma that Dexter experience when he was younger.
And in the role they have Patty Gibson Christian Slater
plays Harry Morgan, who's his father in the on the series,
and I play this is where I come along. So
Dexter eventually becomes a forensics intern at the Miami Metro
Department and the station, and that's where I also come along.

(08:01):
It's my first time being in the Miami Metro Station department,
and I'm a detective.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
I'm Maria Laguina, good too.

Speaker 6 (08:09):
Here's hello and and so yeah, so that's where we
crossed paths is back in the station.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
I like you as a cop more Christina million coming
up after a little more music. Al Mario Lopez, Christina
Milion on Zoom with us this hour. So getting back
to Dexter Original Sin.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Great cast too.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Who'd you kick it with the most?

Speaker 6 (08:28):
You know, I kicked out with everyone in different times
because there's such an ensemble cast. I mean this Christians later,
Patrick Gibson, I mean Patrick Gibson, Patrick gmc, Sarah, Michelle Geller.
We have a lot of really big group moments. But
I think that the person I had the most scenes
with was Christian Slater, and we hung out the most,

(08:49):
like while we were working on the on the show,
So it.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Was that was that was kind of cool.

Speaker 6 (08:53):
I was pinching myself about that because I was like,
the first time I had a scene with him, I'm like, dude,
I'm like thinking of flashback of all the things.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
That I love about him.

Speaker 6 (09:01):
Yeah, yeah, you know, I'm actually working with him now.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
So yeah, he's a cool guy. He's the coolest guy.

Speaker 6 (09:05):
I think that's also like that'll that is the biggest
surprise too, Like you're so funny, you're such a nice guy.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
Oh that's good to hear. Yeah, great, cast, congrats on that.
We'll hang on, Christina, one more thing. I want to
ask a few more songs. Are gonna come back and
wrap it up, wrapping up with Christina Milian who's on Zoom?
Mario Lopez here? And before you go, I know you
left America and you moved to France. Fell the dude's French,
right your husband?

Speaker 6 (09:30):
Yes, yes, yes, Matt, Matt is French. She's a French
pop singer back in France. That's what brought us over
to France.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
So is is uh speaking of that? What's up with music?

Speaker 4 (09:44):
Or is that still something like you you'd like to
do me?

Speaker 6 (09:48):
I don't think so. I liked infusing it now and
like movies are the things that I do like with
my acting career, but music is such like I love
music so much. But it's one of those passions that you.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
Have to have.

Speaker 6 (10:00):
You kind of almost the way that I feel about it,
You almost have to settle a lot of sacrifice you
and family and time and family needs so much more
to me than you know than sacrificing that time I
already do it with my film career, so it's enough
for me to just do it one way and with
the other things that I have going on.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
I have a good idea. I think you should do
it when we do our Christmas film together and you
sing there like yeah, I think I think that's the
move right.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
It works. I like it.

Speaker 6 (10:28):
That's what I'm saying. It is going to be. If
you make it like more musical and I'm singing in
the ed, that's perfect it.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
There we go.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
Hey, I'll be back up. You're back up.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Right there this year, and you gotta get see me,

What if you have like a banner and then when
it gets like really close to the time, you just
unravel it and it drops and goes get out.

I tell people that, like, hey, all right, gotta wrap
it up everybody.

Speaker 5 (19:18):

Speaker 3 (20:18):
And she was doing dances.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
She was like breaking it down, breaking it down for
her crap on stuff, and she was all jolly.

To not one, but two movie premieres at Mawana Too
and Moufassa. I know Mawana Too has done well at
the box office so far, but I got to tell
you I was I was a bit underwhelmed. Oh the
music was a little more whimsical and not as catchy
or fun. Okay, it was missing lin Manuel Miranda, I felt.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
So he didn't come back for this one.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
He didn't come back for that one. But but but
it was all It was all right, with all due
respect to my boy the rock. However, lin Manuel Miranda,
who I saw at the premiere at MUFASA, was involved
in that one, and ironically.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
I thought that music was underwhelming.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
Oh but hey, you can't hit a home run every
time out.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
But I did like the movie.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
It was a very masculine, great lesson for fathers and son.

Is this a prequel? It's a prequel.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
It's a prequel, and you learn how Scar gets his scar.
