Speaker 3 (00:32):
I got a good one. What's the best way to
wash your hands over the holiday? What use hands? Santaitizer?

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Ho Ho ho?

Speaker 5 (00:45):
So?

Speaker 4 (00:46):

Mario Courtney Lopez quickly digging into our inbus to see
what's on your mind?

Speaker 4 (01:08):
What you got, honey.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
This is from att Sabrina four to two one, and
she said, maybe it's just me, but it's beginning to
cost a lot. Like Christmas.

Speaker 6 (01:15):
That's not just you.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
So I saw a funny video forwarded to my friends
at our group thread.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
I didn't get it.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
I'm about to forward it to you too, different thread,
different thread. That's not the naughty thread. That's the naughty thread.
You're on the nice thread. And it was the lady saying,
I'm so broken. I'm not giving out gifts, but I'm
giving out Christmas dances, and she was doing dances. She
was like breaking it down, breaking it down for her
crab on stuff, and she was all jolly.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
So it was so funny.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
I'm like, you know what, I like that I would
appreciate a Christmas dance.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Speaking of memes, I saw a funny one that said,
I don't want to start the new year with any enemy,
so please apologize to me.

Speaker 5 (01:52):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
The countdown at Christmas continues in moments This is On
with Mario.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Lopez A Mario Courtney Hope has time of the year
holiday parties with friends for work, families, So.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
The big question how early or late should you arrive?

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Even when an invitational holiday party says a start time,
you may still wonder should you show up fashionably late
so you're not the first guest there. Well, experts say
the answer is yes.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
But if it's a sit down dinner only ten minutes late,
you should be. You don't want the food to get
cold as they wait for you. But if it's a
typical party, you can be up to a thirty minutes
fashionably late. After that it's polite to text the host
and let them know. One rule no one debates. Never
show up to any party early. We just went to

(02:37):
a party, a dinner a couple of weeks ago, and
the husband gave you a time, and the wife gave
me a time, and.

Speaker 7 (02:44):
They were like an hour different times.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
They were different times.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
And I said, we need to ask because I do
not want to show up. I get mad when somebody
comes to my house on time.

Speaker 6 (02:53):
Well, if you show up, if you show up an
hour late, you'll miss dinner. Yeah, if you show up
an hour early, you might have to make it for ten.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
All.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Mario Courtney Lopez count down to Christmas rolls on just
five days till Santa fires up that slave. But there's
something to celebrate every day.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
What is today's obscure holiday?

Speaker 7 (03:08):
Honey?

Speaker 3 (03:08):
It is National go Caroling Day.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
See it's a weird deal. It's a nice sentiment.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
No, it's it's awful.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
It feels like it would be nice. But you open
the door and they start seeing how am you supposed
to stand there? The whole song first of all, the
one song.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
I don't trust anybody who knocks at my door. So
if you knock at my door and I open it
and there's a bunch of people dressed up as caroler singing,
I'm automatically gonna think you're about to murder me.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
See that's because you watch too many documentaries.

Speaker 6 (03:40):
Time for a.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Festive fake debate, Mario Courtney Lopez. Their topics are always
made up on the spot, but the passion is real,
all right, Fraser, who's going to be pro? Who's gonna
be con?

Speaker 6 (03:48):
You will be Cone, Courtney will be pro? Your topic today,
which will have fifteen seconds to make your case, ten
second robuttal afterwards is caroling?

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Oh god, caroling? You know, I feel like we are
always need to take a step back in time when
things were just simple and not as crazy. Caroling was
such a festive way to just roam around the neighborhood,
sing to your neighbors and just do you know, to
say hello. I think caroling is very proactive in the

(04:19):
cald of life.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Enough next, mister Lopez, gosh, you didn't even believe that
caroling is something that needs to stay in the past.
Nobody likes to open doors for strangers, and you shouldn't
trust anyone, and most of these people are bad singers.
So it just really brings down the whole holiday.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
This is Lopez. I just feel like you want your
life to be over and you just like fast forward
the day and the time, and we just want we
should step back and realize what our ancestors want through.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Miss our ancestors did not carol. I can get it
to you. They did not carol.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Maybe not yours because you can't sing.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
Oh, oh, you know what that's objective? And how do
you know?

Speaker 5 (05:03):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (05:03):
I know?

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Happy holidays to you and yours. This is on with
Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (05:08):

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Another one. The boys keep asking me to go see
Sonic the Hedgehog three animated Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, Tica
Suner Sucter and.

Speaker 4 (05:33):

always talking about that too.

Blanco is a.

Character from Carlito's Way, a movie with Ault Pacino, who
what's his real name?

Speaker 4 (06:35):

What's his real name?

Speaker 4 (06:43):
That's my point. I don't know. Benny Bloco is not
his real name. That's what I'm talking about. You know

Well, you can go down with Mario dot com for
all that and more.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
All Mario Courtney Lopez just a few songs away from
catching up with our buddies Dan and Shay, the three
time award winning duo Hoos drop It's officially Christmas, the
double album on us that.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
We're gonna get the scoop when they join us next.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
You're all Mario Courtney Lopez joining us on Zoom right now.
Budy's Dan and Shay, how are you.

Speaker 7 (07:22):
What's happening, dude? You're looking amazing as always.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Thank you reverse ah my man, See, that's why you're
on my favorite duo. There's like you guys, Hall of Notes.
That's what I'm talking about right there. Congratulations you put
out a holiday song every year. Of course, finally there's
a holiday album. Was it pressure or you just just said,
you know what, now is the time?

Speaker 5 (07:43):
You know, our fans have been begging for this for
the last ten years, and I feel like every year
we let them down.

Speaker 7 (07:48):
We tease a little bit.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
Of like maybe this will be the year, but we
didn't have it done. And you know this this past year,
we had a random snowfall in Nashville in January and
we were kind of inspired and we started writing all
these songs and put together. It was very ambitious of us.
We ended up putting together a double album after not
knowing if we were going to do Christmas alb at all.
But it turned into a double album and we're so

(08:09):
proud of this. Man.

Speaker 7 (08:10):
It's been ten years in the making.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
You know, we've put out Christmas songs before, like you mentioned,
but it's awesome to have a massive collection of songs
finally together that our fans can kind of consume all
at once.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Random snowfall is a very good sign, and you're right
about it being massive. Twenty one tracks on the double album.
We're gonna talk more about that coming up. We're gonna
have more with Dan and Shaye coming up.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Happy Holidays from the entire on with Mario fam more
fest and fun coming up.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Getting back to Dan and Shay who were on Zoom.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
You're all Mario Lopez new double Holiday album is out,
and tell me about some of the new songs.

Speaker 7 (08:42):
Yeah, man, the new songs.

Speaker 8 (08:43):
It's always tough to find new inspiration for Christmas songs.
You've kind of got your buzzwords. It's like country music,
truck beer or boots, right, but it's like you've got
your your Christmas buzzwords that you use.

Speaker 7 (08:52):
You just got to kind of rearrange them. All I
want for Christmas?

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Is you?

Speaker 7 (08:54):
Okay? How do we say that in a different way?
But we did. We found a few new ways.

Speaker 8 (08:58):
Man. We have a song on there called Parson Brown,
you know, which is kind of a spin off of
Winter Wonderland, you know, and the hook is has anybody
seen Parson Brown? It's you were strolling through a winter
wonderland with your lady and you're looking for somebody to
marry the two of you, And you know, just a
tune like that is really cool. We explored some different
production on it. It's kind of got a nice bounce
to it, a little bit of a New Orleans flare
on the production. It's got some flugel horn in it,

(09:21):
which is kind of a trumpet sounding thing for all
the folks out there listening have never heard of a flugelhorn.
We've got a song called the Cozy Song, which is
kind of a jam. I'm trying to live my life cozy.
I put on a sweater because they went through all
the trouble to decorate this nice Christmas background for us.
Usually I'm just living that sweatpants life. So the Cozy
Song is a good soundtrack for that. The title track,

(09:43):
officially Christmas, you know, has been out for a couple
of years. But that kind of is our just anthem.
We want to be the guys with the big pair
of scissors.

Speaker 7 (09:49):
Cutting the red ribbon.

Speaker 8 (09:50):
Yeah, speaking of cutting ribbons, congratulations on your star on
the Walk of fell Man.

Speaker 7 (09:54):
That's right, man, unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
I appreciate it, gentlemen. Thank you very nice.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
It's very nice and you definitely look festive, so good,
good on you. All right, I want to ask about
the classics next with Dan and check all Mario Lopez
more with our guest in just a bit. In the meantime,
I'm gonna keep the music coming your way. If you
got a song you want here, please slide into my
DMS over on ig add on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
Wrapping up with Dan and Shay.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
You're all Mario Lopez and what about the classics on
the album?

Speaker 7 (10:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (10:23):
Man, you know, we kind of collected our favorite classic songs,
you know we have. I would say my favorite on
the collection is the Christmas song. Ever since I was
a little kid, it's been one of my favorites, and
I feel like throughout the years, you know, i'd always
kind of sing that first line at chess Nut's roasting
on an open fire, a little preview for that one's
for free.

Speaker 7 (10:45):
It was always one of my favorites to sing.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
I don't know that up until we actually started to
record this that I knew all the words to that song.

Speaker 7 (10:52):
I knew that first line.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
And I feel like that was kind of what I
really would always sing. So it was awesome to be
able to kind of put that whole song together, and
I'm proud of of how it turned out. That's my
absolute favorite Christmas song and to be able to put
it on here and do a version of that song that,
you know, I'm so proud of. Dan absolutely crust the production,
so could job Dan. It was awesome to be able
to have that on there now. And it's very daunting, man,

(11:15):
whenever you you know, you're looking at all of these classics,
you know that we all listen to every year, to
kind of throw your name in the hat, you know,
to put you know, that's a lot of pressure for whatever.
You know, there's a lot of people who have different
versions of these classic songs. It's a daunting thing to
be like, all right, here's our version of this song
that people that is so beloved, you know, and it's
a it's a very daunting thing. But I'm really proud

(11:36):
of of how that turned out. And a lot of
these songs that we put that were classics on the album,
I'm really proud of how they all turned out, and
I think we put our own spin on the on
the classics, but at the same time, you know, paid
homage to you know what they are and the memories
that they hold for so many people.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
You're the full interview now at On with Mario dot Com.
Howadays from the entire On with Mario fam or it's
fun coming up?

Speaker 4 (12:01):
What about Mario Lopez Here? Get ready for some big
spending to this holiday season.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Americans are expected to spend two hundred and forty point
eight billion dollars this year. It's about an eight and
a half percent increase from last year. More than half
of the shopping will be done on our phones, hence
malls slowly disappearing. The majority of gifts are predicted to
be electronics, clothes, sporting goods, and furniture.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
Here are just five days left until Christmas, but today
is also a holiday.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
It is National Sangria Day, which is.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Perfect for the holidays because it's a festive looking drink
basically red wine with a lot of fruit cut up
into it. Unless you make it Costa Lopez style, because
I'll put a little tequila, little vodka, little mescal, a
little of everything.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
This is why I like that, because I don't like wine.

Speaker 6 (12:55):
But I like sangria at your house.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Yes, oh, it'll, it'll, it'll make the holiday's very merry.

Speaker 7 (13:01):
It's good.

Speaker 5 (13:04):
All right.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Time for another mini Christmas pop quiz Mario Courtney Lopez.
Here Fraser is testing our knowledge of some Christmas trivia.
So let's get our hands on the buzzers we've established
on the King of Christmas.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
But we're tied.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
You won one eye.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
Okay, yeah, everyone relaxed.

Speaker 7 (13:18):
We'll see what win today. Here we go.

Speaker 6 (13:23):
Who wrote the classic story A Christmas Carol? Mario Dickens.
Dickens is correct, it's a zeros.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
I didn't realize I was married to such an intelligent
Christmas connossul.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
I was just intelligence. Stopped there, all right, One to zero.
Next question, hands on buzzers? In total?

Speaker 6 (13:42):
How many gifts were given in the twelve days of
Christmas closest without going over twelve.

Speaker 7 (13:49):
Recording?

Speaker 4 (13:51):
No, come on for forty eight incorrect?

Speaker 6 (13:54):
Three hundred and sixty four because.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
Some days starts like twelve. Some days there's.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Eleven day of Christmas twelve.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
I thought it was a true question. He was trying
to do the math working, so so okay, I thought
it was sixty.

Speaker 6 (14:10):
Four gifts that person my love them more birds though
even put those?

Speaker 4 (14:15):
Yeah, who could afford that?

Speaker 6 (14:17):
I mean, right, you got feed them.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
That's did we do I get a prop for understanding?

Speaker 6 (14:20):
You do, I'll give you a prop for understanding. So
it's one to prop. It's one to wait.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Did we not go over?

Speaker 6 (14:25):
What's that?

Speaker 4 (14:26):
What was it? You should we should get a point
because what did she say?

Speaker 5 (14:29):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (14:29):
I was actually yeah, she should get it. I mean
she gets a point because without going over. Yeah, so
you do get the point. True, So one to one I.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Should still get a prop on top of that point.

Speaker 7 (14:37):
Right, calm down, because.

Speaker 6 (14:40):
Here we go. Two more questions. Under which president did
Christmas December twenty fifth officially become a national holiday? That
is Courtney Carter incorrect, John Adams incorrect. Ulysses eighteen seventy

(15:03):
became granted it?

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Oh god, wait a minute, Christmas wasn't a holiday. It
was a holiday, but not a national holiday for whatever reason.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
That's wild.

Speaker 6 (15:13):
Till eighteen seventy.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
Don't you think that's wild?

Speaker 6 (15:15):
I mean it's a little crazy. Eighteen seventy, it's a
fair the country. It was only like one hundred years
old at that point. They just hadn't gotten around to
it yet. I think true, you forget we're like, we're
a baby. We're a baby compared to the rest. They're
about to be two fifty, which is super young in
country years, super young.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
I was at a church in Mexico recently that was
eight hundred years old.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
Dude, a friend of mine in England, his parents live
in a house that is two hundred years old, almost
as like, almost as old as this country.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
Yeah, I forget. That's wild though there wasn't a national
Hell that's wild.

Speaker 7 (15:43):
All right.

Speaker 6 (15:43):
It is one to one. There is one question left.
This one's worth twenty twenty four points. Which country is
credited with starting the Christmas tree tradition in the sixteenth century.
Mario England incorrect, Courtney in correct.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Germany.

Speaker 6 (16:02):
Wow, Germany brought the trees inside.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
Wow, they brought the trees inside because it's too cold.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
All right, Happy holidays to you and yours. This is
on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
We'll be right back Mario Lopez here and tis the
season for Christmas. Cookie is America's most favorite cookie this
time of year is the sugar cookie. Nearly one in
three choose it second favorite cookie. Gingerbread just barely more
popular than chocolate chip.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
Chocolate chip is like.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
A staple year round, so they like to mix it up.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
I get it.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
You're Ald Mario Courtney Lopez about to dig into our
inbox and find us a comment of the week.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
Hang tight for that. In the meantime, you got a request,
please send it our way over on X Adamald Marian.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
All, Mario Courtney Lopez. Time to honor our comment of
the week. We love hearing from you at on the
Mario on X and Facebook, Adam and Mario Lopez on
IG What do you got?

Speaker 3 (16:54):
This is from at Kendall Cooks and they said Christmas
is coming up like a court date and I need
a continue les.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Yeah, it does seem to creep up quicker every year,
even though we know when it's when it's coming on
the twenty fifth, they don't change that. The thing about
Christmas is that no matter what, you're gonna have to
deal with some form of gift giving, whether it's at
home or at work, and you got to navigate all

(17:21):
that in parties. I like I mentioned it before this
video I saw with this girl has giving out Christmas dances.
I think people who are struggling financially, should get creative
out of the box. That's the adult version of drawing
something when you're a kid. Making something you give out
a Christmas dance or a Christmas rap doesn't cost you
anything but a little time, and I think it'll go.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
A long way. Hey Grandma, this is the whip in
nine exactly. There you go.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Happy holidays to you and yours. This is on with
Mario Lopez.

Speaker 7 (17:50):
Won'll be right.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Back all right time to put you out full speed
ahead into the weekend.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
We're back on Monday with more music and fun until then.
