Al Mario Lopez putting a spotlight on someone trying to
do a good thing in the world.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
All right, Fraser, who's getting our good deed Lopezi?
Speaker 3 (00:32):
This week?
Speaker 4 (00:33):
A bunch of volunteers and people in Chicago who helped
reunite Angel Santiago with his stolen support dog, Bam Bam.
Angeliz glaucoma and is legally blind, so Bam Bam has
been the key to his independence for over a decade.
But Bam Bam was stolen oh on June fifth, right
out of his backyard in Chicago, and neighbors heard him
calling Bam BAM's name over and over for days. They
(00:55):
finally figured out someone took it. So all these strangers
that in neighbors started a Facebook group and a GoFundMe
to raise money. They started passing out flyers. A TV
station even covered it. PETA offered five thousand dollars as
a reward. After two months, a couple dropped off the
dog at a police station. Didn't leave their names, just
left the dog's microchip linked back to Angel, and then
(01:16):
they were reunited.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
That's an awesome story, but it breaks my heart to
hear the circumstances and are you gonna just steal someone's dog?
Speaker 5 (01:26):
It's insane.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
And the crazy thing too, is like obviously you think,
like this was really tough for this this guy Angel,
but I'm sure the dog was heartbroken as well.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Yeah, it's traumatic for the dog too. Well, I'm glad
everything ended up being all right.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Cot that moor. Mario Lopez coming up on Mario.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Courtney Lopez with a quick log at what's new on
TV and streaming.
Speaker 6 (01:46):
And and he has season eight of Court to cam. Oh,
that's a show I should have been on. True crime
series that features behind the scenes footage from US courtrooms,
often showing wild unruly or dramatic moments.
Speaker 5 (01:57):
Ooh, well, like when that guy ran up and tackled
the judge and.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yeah, that was great. Here's the thing about courtrooms. You
could be in there for something as simple as a misdemeanor,
but if you wiled out all of a sudden, you
got a felony on your hands. You got to behave
in there, yeah for real.
Speaker 6 (02:13):
Amazon Prime TV has a series premiere terminal list, Dark Wolf,
a prequel series following Ben Edwards's original origin story from
Navy seal to CIA operative, exploring the darker aspects of
warfare and espionage.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Ooh okay, I like that.
Speaker 6 (02:31):
And Katrina, Come Hell and High Water, a Netflix documentary
series executive produced by Spike Lee that chronicles Hurricane Katrina
from the perspective of survivors.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Time to get to this week's court case in Courtney's Court,
all right? This week's case comes from Laura in Nevada.
She says, I just found out that my boyfriend of
four years has a secret child. The kid is five
years old and predates me. Apparently he fathered his child
by accident while visiting Australia before we met. Whoopsies, Oh,
and just learned about his existence about a year ago,
(03:33):
but has been keeping it a secret from me ever since.
I found this out when I saw on Venmo that
he sent money to a woman. I asked him about it. First,
he lied, then he came out with the truth days later.
How should I handle this? Can I trust him?
Speaker 6 (03:43):
Ooh?
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Is a good one.
Speaker 6 (03:45):
You know the fact that this happened before you, Thank goodness.
I don't know why he's just not being honest with you.
Maybe he thinks that you wouldn't want to be with
him if you know. I don't know what you guys
talk about for the future. But obviously this was an
accident and he's being a man about it and hopefully
being a father, and he should have just told you
(04:08):
how to handle it in the future.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
I think if he comes clean and you approach him
about it.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
Then maybe give him another chance.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
And it seems like he's trying to step up if
he's sending money, like he's trying to be responsible or something.
Speaker 6 (04:20):
But is this hush money?
Speaker 5 (04:22):
I mean it could be.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Well, let's not read too much into its.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Back, Mario Lopez. Here, music rolls on after some quick
food buzz, fast food dropping some wild new flavors on us,
and honestly, some of them are pretty interesting. There's a
thin mint frosty at Windy's that sounds pretty good.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
Actually, I love frosties, but I don't like mint in saucy.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
I like Minton chip, so yeah, I love mintship ice cream.
There's also a loaded Nashville Hot fries bowl at KC
that sounds good too, and like you'll be having rubble
in the jungle later in your stomach. Taco Bell's back
with garlic nacho fries, stack with steak.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
Okay, these are sounding pretty next Taco Bell with a
steak Okay.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Even Shake Shack jumped in with a crispy fried pickles
and ranch. All right, they're stepping up their game. If
you're a fan of Popeyes, have got a pickle glazed
chicken sandwich with the signature Southern kick. A lot of
pickle theme action going on right here. All right, I'm

Go ahead.
Speaker 8 (08:56):
And because it's a classic, and because I'm not very
good at sing it, it's a very hard song to sing,
and I don't think you should be good at carraok.
I think anyone who goes up and I hate when
people go up to carryoke and I remember I'm a singer.
I hate when people go up and they perform well,
it makes me sick to my stomach.
Speaker 5 (09:13):
Exactly a movie you've seen the most.
Speaker 8 (09:15):
Movie I've seen the most is probably.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
The Other Guys Celebrity Crush, growing up Celebrity crush.
Speaker 8 (09:25):
Do you remember the Lady Mama lad video? Yes, that
was a bit of That was kind of like my
sexual awakening, She'll be. That was when I realized, Okay,
I like this. So all the ladies that took part
in that.
Speaker 5 (09:39):
Your nickname.
Speaker 8 (09:40):
Growing up, my name people just called me Capaldi or
fat boy, but we won't.
Speaker 6 (09:44):
Talk about it.
Speaker 8 (09:45):
Was affectionate. No, yeah, Capaldi. People just called me by
my last name, which was fine with me. A lot
of people call me Capaldi these days, but that's wrong.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
And your favorite thing about America?
Speaker 8 (09:56):
My favorite thing about America is jeez, well that's my
favorite thing of America. I do like foods, but I
think that's like a call pot to see the food
as the people as the people who buy my records.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Ol Mario Courney Lopez can't believe it's almost at the
end of August. Already, kids going back to school and
as they go back, quick reminder to thank all the
amazing teachers for all that they do both in and
out of the classrooms.
Speaker 6 (10:24):
That's right, theyank a teacher today and they could even
get five thousand dollars to stock their classrooms this fall,
powered by donors. Choose help us say thank you to
the educators shaping our future. On with Mario dot Com
slash teachers to nominate your favorite teacher right now.
Speaker 7 (10:53):
Ah, Mario Lopez. Few more songs.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Then going to dig into the buzz to break down
yesterday's breaking news. Taylor Swift engaged. I'm gonna tell everything
we know Hollywood bus jarl Mari Lopez digging into the
bus because Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcey are officially engaged.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
On with Mario Hollywood Buzz.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Well, look at that, folks, that happened. Congratulations to Taylor
Swift and Travis Kelcey. They are officially engaged. The couple
announced the news in a joint ig post yesterday, so
you know it's real. The announcement capped a highly publicized
two year romance that began in twenty twenty three. They
shared their news with a carousel of photos, along with
the caption playfully referring to themselves as your English teacher
(11:34):
and your gym teacher are getting married. One of the
images showed Kelsey on one knee in a garden and
a clear shot of the engagement ring, a radiant cut
diamond on a simple band. I like how they had
a photo crew on standby.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
Well, you want a document, so I guess you want
to have it. But like the fact that the photos
are so detailed, with like you can see the ring
and the rock and like, so I'm sure.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
He got down one he's proposed and said, hold on, honey,
let's do this again, and had to have the photographers
come out so soop so funny. Second big headline the
couple made together recently, Taylor, of course, joined Kelsey on
his New Heights podcast, announcing her upcoming album, The Life
of a show Girl the other week. So I cannot
imagine the countdown to the wedding and the way that's
gonna look Moore.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Amar A Lopez. So the kid I was heading back
to school, and of course back to school time means
changing kids' habits. A new survey of parents with young
kids finds at nine to ten claim bedtime is the
hardest routine to reset at the end of summer break. Yes,
it is. On average, kids go to bed more than
an hour later during the summer than they did during
the school year. Unless you're a Lopez kid, you were
going to bed two three hours later. So the sleep
(12:42):
routine major adjustment. The melatonin is busted out. Getting back
to homework habits, that's another challenge. Just getting to school
on time.
Speaker 5 (12:50):
Helping the kids with homework.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Oh no, let's forget that. That's that's Google and tutors Moore.
Mario Lopez on the way olopees music rolls on right
after a quick reminder that the twenty twenty five Global
Citizen Festival is returning to Central Park September twenty seventh
with an incredible lineup weekend. Shakida Global Citizen Ambassador Hugh Jackman.
(13:12):
It is said to host the festival, which will rally
action to bring energy access to a million people across Africa,
provide education for thirty thousand children around the world, and more.
All of us, said I Hurt Radio proud to support
Global Citizen as the exclusive US audio partner, and you
don't want to miss the show. Tickets are free, just
have to take action to earn them, so download the
Global Citizen app or visit Global Citizen Festival dot com
(13:33):
to get started. You're on Mario Lopez music rolls on
right after some quick travel buzz. Gas prices are staying
low for Labor Day weekend, as is all travel, so
that's good to hear. Triple A says the National averagear
a gallon of regular gas should stay below last year's
average of three dollars and thirty three cents, and should
remain relatively low for the rest of the summer, as
long as the Gulf Coast refineries are not hit by
(13:55):
a hurricane.
Speaker 8 (13:55):
Of course, that's a.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Big It's airfare should also be cheaper this holiday. A
report that domestic ground trip flights are six percent less
expensive than they were this time last year. Travelers will
also find national hotel rates down eleven percent and car
rentals down three percent. All right, this is good news.
And there's another travel trend I want to talk about.
We'll get to that next.
Speaker 7 (14:15):
Mario Lopez.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
You're a new travel trend, traveling solo.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
It's become really popular these days and can be low
stress and a lot of freedom, but a little prep
makes all the difference. Don't forget your chargers. Your phone
is your lifeline out there, and you gotta trust those instincts.
If something feels off, avoid it. Experts say pack light
and protect your cards and cash. They also suggest you
stay local, buy local, and meet the locals. There's a
(14:39):
website dedicated to helping you through the experience, solo traveler
world dot com. It's a great resource if you're heading
out on your own anytime soon.
Speaker 5 (14:47):
You know, there's a show about this right now with
someone right.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Yes, there is Tracy Lstross. And here's the thing. Okay,
I can see it being empowering and obviously cost effective,
very dangerous. I don't want to be that guy, but
especially for young ladies out there, there is an element
of danger. I'm sorry, but there's just shady people out there,
and I just feel a little more secure. If my
daughter or my sister were to hit me up and say, hey,
(15:12):
you don't want to take this trip, I won't. Who
are you going with? Yeah, of course, go by yourself.
I don't want to throw a monkey wrench out there,
but just be careful.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Mario Lopez We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (15:22):

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Here a Mario Lopez quickly Yeah, and one last thing,
Another reason I Love music News study says about sixty
percent of us hum a song, a melody, even gibberish,
and a lot of us do it without even knowing
we're doing it, and psychologists say keep it up because
it's good for you.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Humming manages mood, relieve stress, can even improve your breathing
and lower your blood pressure. I'm a hummer. I'm a
straight out singer too, so yes, my blood pressure.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
We have an award every year at the end of
the year in the Lopezis for a musical moment of
the year, and I think you've won it most years.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
