no one won the one point four billion dollar Power
Bowl jackpot Wednesday night, two people did win a million dollars, however,
by hitting five numbers from here in California. Oh nice,
So that's not too shabby.

There's definitely a chance, and you can't win if you

and Utah have zero chance because those states don't have
power ball.

It's ironic that Nevada, home of Las Vegas.

Sisters on Hallmark Channel just premiered.

Speaker 9 (07:52):
Now.

Speaker 6 (07:52):
For those who may not be familiar with the series,
what's it about.

Speaker 9 (07:55):
Well, it's about well, the first season was about these
two chicken restaurants who ended up in a weird competition
with each other. They've always been in competition for like
one hundred years, these two rival chicken restaurants in this
small southern town of Marnac, and they get caught up

(08:15):
in a reality show which is pitting the two against
each other. And so about it's about a small town,
it's about a family that's interconnected in really interesting ways,
and mostly about these four women and how they navigate
their lives, their family, their business, and their love.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
I've seen the trailers. It's pretty funny too.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Again, you can check out season two of The Chicken
Sisters on Hallmark Channel right now and Hey tight morewoo
Leah coming up after a quick break.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Mario Lopez returns.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
After this on Mario Lopez getting back to Leah Thompson,
been talking about our show The Chicken Sisters over on
Hallmark Channel.

Speaker 6 (08:53):
Now.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
In this you have an accent, and you can have
there's different types of Southern accents, right like the North
Carolina sounds different from Georgia, which sounds different from Louisiana
in Alabama.

Speaker 6 (09:03):
Which which did you go with?

Speaker 8 (09:05):
Well, we kind of went with a more of a
Texas accent where you hit the RS a little bit.

Speaker 6 (09:10):
You mentioned that one.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Okay, yeah, that's right, not.

Speaker 8 (09:12):
The genteel one. So, and I've done this accent a lot.

Speaker 9 (09:15):
I've worked a lot in Texas, Austin, Dallas, Houston, so,
and and our showrunners from from Texas, So.

Speaker 8 (09:24):
We kind of went with that one. Although one of the.

Speaker 9 (09:27):
Actresses is from Virginia, Skyler Fisk, and her mom is
Sissy Spasic, who has the strongest accent.

Speaker 6 (09:35):
Oh wow, that's cool. That's a cool connection right there.
I like that.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
All right, lots more to talk about, Lea. Hang on,
We're gonna have more on the way.

Speaker 6 (09:43):
But first one music.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
Catching up with actress Leah Thompson this hour you're on,
Mario Lopez, and before we move on from your show
The Chicken Sisters, I know you're a director. Did you
get to direct any of the episodes?

Speaker 8 (09:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (09:55):
I directed the first two episodes, which was really fun
because I'd be like, okay, put the camera over here,
all right now, I think we're on a forty on
this and a two shot over here and then and
I'd go.

Speaker 8 (10:05):
And action will I think you it'd be finer than
a fox here if you behaved, that's great. But okay,
how did that go? Oh?

Speaker 6 (10:14):
I like it?

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Oh so you flip? Do you flip flop back and forth?

Speaker 5 (10:17):
I like it.

Speaker 8 (10:17):
I like it flopped and it made everyone a little crazy.

Speaker 6 (10:22):
Now that's skilled right there.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
All right, hang time, we got to get back to
the music for more sounds, and we're going to come.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Back with you time.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Got the incredible Lea Thompson on zoom with us this hour,
Mario Lopez, you' have been talking about her show The
Chicken Sisters. But I also saw your developing a new
series for the USA Network called Anna Pigeon, which you
said was fifteen years.

Speaker 6 (10:40):
In the making. What can you tell us about that?

Speaker 9 (10:43):
Well, actually, I just came from shooting the pilot and
the first episode, and so I'm editing right now.

Speaker 8 (10:49):
It's an a Pigeon.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
It's based on these books.

Speaker 9 (10:51):
Written by Nevada bar They're mysteries about a woman who
works as a park ranger and she he solves mysteries
and murders.

Speaker 8 (11:02):
And so we have.

Speaker 9 (11:03):
This amazing, amazing cast and this incredible actress, Tracy Sparadocus
plays Anna Pigeon. And what was really fun about it
was that the very first day of camera test, the
author accidentally was in Calgary where we were shooting, so
we got to take her out to dinner. And since
I had owned the books for fifteen years and every

(11:25):
year I was like, I promise.

Speaker 8 (11:26):
You, I'll get it made. Give me the rights again,
give me the Yeah.

Speaker 5 (11:28):
I was so happy to.

Speaker 8 (11:30):
Be like, I'm finally I did it. Okay, I did it.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
Oh that's the best feeling ever right there. Congratulations on that.

Speaker 8 (11:35):
It was very It's a very I'm really excited about it.

Speaker 6 (11:38):

You're the full interview now at on with Mario Doug
more Mario Lopez on the way, rap.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
It up with actress Leah Tomson. You're on with Mario
Lopez and this is pretty cool and funny. Your first
movie was Jaws three D. I remember vividly watching that, Guys.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
I was like, oh, three D Jaw.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
It was awesome. And your character had a water skiing scene.
I heard you lied during the casting about being able
to water ski.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
I did.

Speaker 9 (12:07):
I lied, and I also said I could swim. I
couldn't swim, but I did do all my stunts. If
you remember the movie, I climbed up on a three
tier pyramid of water skiers. Little girl's shoulder wow, and
two you know, like in two tier pyramid and I
was at the top and they put it in the ocean.

Speaker 8 (12:26):
And they and I did it.

Speaker 5 (12:28):
Wow.

Speaker 8 (12:29):
I was a stunt woman. That's how I started.

Speaker 6 (12:31):

Speaker 7 (13:56):
I am pro Wednesday because once you get to Wednesday,
it is what we call hump Day, and I'm a
fan of the hump.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
Mister Lopez.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Wednesday is a dreadful day. It's the middle of the week.
Most people feel like the week should be over. You
aren't even over hump Day. Hump Day is Thursday, which
is my favorite day of the week. Wednesday isn't even
like a Christmas Eve of the week.

Speaker 7 (14:22):
Miz Please do not teach our kids anything because hump
Day is not Thursday.

Speaker 5 (14:28):
Is Wednesday.

Speaker 7 (14:30):
I would just be quiet, mister Pez.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
You don't have the flour Wow, mister Lopez. Continue, Oh
are you done?

Speaker 8 (14:39):
I'm done?

Speaker 3 (14:39):
All right, Misterez, you do have the four I apologize.
Hump Day is Wednesday. We got to get over the hump.
But you know what, sometimes you don't want to get
over the hump, you want to say below the hump.
So therefore I dread be quiet.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
More fun with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Mario Lopez going to honor the comment of the week
and just a little bit in.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
The meantime, more music.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
And I just realized we didn't celebrate today's obscure holiday,
so let's get to that.

Speaker 6 (15:08):
What are we recognizing today, Fraser?

Speaker 5 (15:09):
It is National Shrink Day.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Oh nice, honoring psychologists or a psychiatrist, which one I
guess they're both.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Yeah, it's actually honoring both because they're both considered shrinks.
And this was actually inspired by Bob Newhart's birthday, which
is today, Yes, and his iconic role as a psychiatrist.
He was a psychiatrist on Bob Newhart, he.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Was a psychiatrist. I never saw a very calm one,
which is what you want in a psychiatrist. You don't
want a frantic psychiatrist. I would just add more e stress. Yeah,
he was low key, very funny. You're all Mario Courtney
Lopez almost tied to head home for the night, but
not before we honor our comment of the week. If

gets it, honey?

Speaker 7 (16:03):
This is from at Linda Blades and I have never
read anything more true. She said, you know, the average
five year old asks four hundred and thirty seven questions
per day. This is, in fact, why you are tired.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Yes, ours does not stop talking from the moment he
wakes up to the moment he goes to sleep.

Speaker 7 (16:22):
Wonder who he takes after?

Speaker 5 (16:24):
Wow?

Speaker 6 (16:24):
Yeah, no, he does not shut up. There's no easing
into the morning with him.

Speaker 7 (16:29):
No, literally, I wake up.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
It's like stumping your toe.

Speaker 8 (16:33):
Yeah no, no, no.

He's laying over me like this with one eye.
