you for the next few hours. A lot of fun
stuff to get into. Also got some great guest zooming
in later, Terry Hatcher, Andrew Bowman, Emerson Tenny. They're going

Desperately Devoted. We're going to catch up on the rest
of the buzz from the weekend and just a few
songs away from asking a random question, So turn it up.

(00:24):
You're on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
A Maria Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Disturbing new survey I ran across diud. You know that
only one and every three people wash the bottom of
their feet when they shower. Now hold on a second, you.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Being yeah, this is actually a made up study so
that we could talk about the fact that you apparently
don't watch the bottom of.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Your feet washes the bottom of your feet. Everyone else
in the room listen. I can appreciate the attention to detail.
What can I defend myself?

Speaker 5 (00:53):
Let me be a playing before you defend yourself for
you lovely listeners, at home my husband who had only
one arm for about a week and a half, which
was he could have used his other arm, but he
chose not to. I had to literally shower him, bathe him,
all of the above.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Fat you're to help him with everything.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
I had to help him with everything. So we're in
the shower and I say lift your feet, and he's like,
what do you mean lift my feet? I'm like, I'm
going to wash the bottom of your feet. You I
don't wash the bottom of my feet. Who washes the
bottom of their feet?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
I'm like, I do.

Speaker 5 (01:29):
I wash the kids bottom of their feet when they're little,
and I bathe them.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Okay, let me interrupt, Let me interrupt, So hold on,
hold on pause. Little kids run around barefoot often. I
number one, do not run around barefoot, off it. And
number two, I scrub up every inch of my body.
The bottoms of my feet don't necessarily get scrubbed because
they're already walking around on the water.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
It's already clean the bottoms of their feet. Seriously.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
In my defense, hold on. In my defense, I usually
take bags when I take a bath. Then you know
it's immersed in there, and I guess I wash them
my there when I'm doing everything, but it's getting water
roll hiz the bottom of your priority. I respect the
attention to detail, Like I said, I respect that, but
I guarantee you pull people nine out of ten do

(02:12):
not watch the botom of the feet the bottom it
was no top I go talk.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
No one out of three don't watch the box. Three
gets told.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
In that shower.

Speaker 1 (02:19):

those giant Costco pumpkin pies officially back on the shelves.
I like those nearly four pounds for only five ninety nine.
That's a heck of a deal. Costco's extra large pumpkin
muffins also available again. Trader Joe's getting into the pumpkin
spirit as well. Their pumpkin pancake and waffle mix is back,

(03:18):
along with their crunchy maple leaf cookies.

Speaker 3 (03:21):

What will Mario do? I offer you one billion dollars. However,
if you accept it, you're not allowed to sleep more
than four hours each day in any twenty four hour period.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Will you take the deal?

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (03:51):
By the way, if you do sleep more than four hours,
you got to pay the money. You got to give
the money back, and you got to pay back what
you spent.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
This is for the rest of my life. Yes, when
I wake up every four hours, it's for how long?

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Well, you can only sleep four hours in a twenty
four hour period, so twenty hours awake each day.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
That's impossible. You can't do that. You won't enjoy life.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
You'll die young. You got a billion dollars though, no
work at the billion dollars. But I'm gonna die young
and be viserable.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
No, no, no, no.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
That I have to pass.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
That's a solid.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
I'll give you a twenty minute nap, no going to
but I'm taking a hundred million.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
No, well, okay, you're going to play that game.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
I will negotiate. Let's negotiate.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
You could take half a billion, okay, bump it up
to six hours.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
I'll take I'll take half a billion, and I'll bump
it up to five.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
No, no, no, that's not a negotiation.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
I'll take four hundred million to bump it to five.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Keep going.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
No, that's it. That's my final offer, going, that's it.
I don't think i'm taking. You're getting six hundred million dollars.
You can sleep.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
Five hours a night and a no nap, no naps,
no no, no, I'm passing.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Then I'm keeping on keeping the billion dollars more.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Mario Lopez coming up?

Speaker 2 (05:00):
All right, keep the music coming at you.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
I hope that does happen, Mikey Stoplet, because a lot
of great people that I work with. Be nice to
see the team get honored. I'm hosting the Emmys. But
then I announced the presenter, and the presenter will then
give out the award.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
And I'm sure if you're going to give one out,
they're not going to have you do your category.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Yes, that would be weird.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
That would be weird, but awesome.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Me I'm winning.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
More.

Speaker 8 (06:04):
Mario Lopez coming up a Mario Courtney Lopez twenty twenty
six Coachella lineup has dropped, Sobrina Carpenter and the Beebes

the name of the town right here in California, and
it will be the home for two huge musical weekends

My niece and daughter already hit us up for it,
and uh no is the answer right now, little.

Some of the others taking the stage along Sabrina and
Justin are Teddy Swims, Carol g In, an international girl group,
Kats Eye his favorite with Mario dot com for more details.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Give you the music coming your way, Mario Lopez, You're
about to break down this list of TikTok's most followed creators,
and it reminded me of the study I saw about
how much time we're spending online and in front of
screens each day.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
The studies said the average American spends almost half their
day online.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
The average is more than ten hours a day, which
is wild, half of which is spent just scrolling, paying
bills and shopping. Plus all the hours we spend watching
streaming videos, movies and shows now paying bills and shopping,
you shouldn't count that in that.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
That's yeah, I mean it's done.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
I mean technically, yeah, like who's really counting the time
you're paying bills?

Speaker 2 (07:33):
But as far as streaming videos, watching memes.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
Just scrolling Instagram, social media, yeah that is pretty wild.
You know, if you're addicted to shopping, then yeah, that's problematic,
but most people aren't spending that much time doing it.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
All right, let's get back to music. Jol Mario Lopez
dig it into the Buzz to break down the most
followed creators on TikTok.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
On with Mario Hollywood Buzz.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
So the list of the most followed TikTok creators is
out and on top with one hundred and sixty two
million followers is a guy who doesn't even speak copy lame,
silent reactions, win with no words, just pure expression. My
guy's coming in number one. Charlie Dmilio, who was kind
of early in on the action, is second, believe it
or not with her viral dance moves and mister Beast

(08:21):
rounds out the top three with.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
His over the top energy.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Also want to mention a couple other big names making
the top ten, both with eighty million followers, The Rock
and Will.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Smith, who's following Wilson Well.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Will Smith is pretty out pretty entertaining content.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
Yes that actually I have enjoyed some of his content recently.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Yeah, wow, that's interesting. Okay.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
CO four Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
You're a Mario on Courtney Lopez taking a sect to
a Congrats to our five thousand dollars winners in Iheart's
think a teacher powered by donors choose.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
By the way, there's still time for you to nominate
a public school teacher making a difference, and maybe there'll
be one of our next winners to win five grand

you to the educator shaping our future. Nominate your favorite
teacher now at on with Mario dot Com slash Teachers,

(09:22):
You're all Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
A few more songs and then gonna fire up zoom
and chat with the ladies in the new Desperately Devoted podcast.
Terry Hatcher, Andrea Bowen and Emerson Tenney back to get
the scoop on the new podcast and more when they
join us next. It's upbro Mario Lopez joining me right now.
The hosts of the new podcast, Desperately Devoted Terry Hatcher,
Andrea Bowen and Emerson Tenny. How are you, ladies, We're great, good,

(09:48):
Thank you for taking the time. So in the new podcast,
you're gonna be rewatching Desperate Housewives, the iconic show. But
the twist here, Terry, you have your real life daughter
Emerson as a host, and you're TV daughter from the
series Andrea as the other hosts.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
That's a fun dynamic.

Speaker 7 (10:05):
God, isn't that great.

Speaker 9 (10:06):
I'm surrounded by brilliant women. Andrea actually kind of brought
the idea to me, maybe with thinking that her and
I would do it together, and then I was the
one that said, like, wouldn't.

Speaker 7 (10:18):
It be amazing?

Speaker 9 (10:19):
Since Emerson is a writer, she's not an actor, and
she's also never seen it before and so she's, you know,
twenty seven, We've got that generation.

Speaker 7 (10:29):
We have Andrew who's thirty five, and me who's eighty please,
and so.

Speaker 9 (10:35):
We have all these different points of view of this
iconic show. And plus we love each other so we're
really excited.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
That's so much fun and it's so cool. I can't believe,
though Emerson is funny because I feel really old. I
rememer when you were a little little girl. It's crazy
all grown up now. Time goes by so quick. I
can't believe it's the first time you're gonna watch the series.
Was that a deliberate move on your part?

Speaker 10 (10:58):
Well, you know, I think I was way too young
to watch it when it first came out.

Speaker 7 (11:02):
I mean I was seven when the pilot aired.

Speaker 10 (11:04):
Why I remember you yeah, and then and then you know,
there wasn't streaming for a while. I feel like it
was really during COVID in twenty twenty when a lot
of my friends from college, I think it was when
Desperate Housewives first came out, either on Netflix or maybe
it was Hulu, and I had all these friends from
college who you know, had not really grown up necessarily
watching the show reaching out to me, going.

Speaker 7 (11:25):
Wait, is this Your mom? Is your mom Susan?

Speaker 11 (11:28):
Then your mom who came to parents' weekend when we
were in college. And so when this opportunity presented itself,
it was such an easy yes. Because I am a screenwriter.
It is such an iconic piece of television, not to
mention that my mom is amazing and it's so fun
to get to celebrate her and watch her achievements in
that show.

Speaker 7 (11:47):
And yeah, it's it's been a blast. I mean we're
only into it. Well, I'm only into.

Speaker 10 (11:51):
The first first season a little ways, but I'm loving it.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
I know your mom is fantastic and it all right
more with the Ladies coming up right after a quick break.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
More Fun on the Way On with Mario.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Lopez A Maria Lopez got the three Ladies of Desperately
Devoted on Zoom with Me, Terry Hatcher, Andrew Bowen and
Emerson Tenny.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
What are your.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Thoughts Terry and looking back and rewatching it now?

Speaker 3 (12:14):
And and well I.

Speaker 9 (12:16):
Also like Andrea, I think both of us obviously we've
seen it before, but not.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
In over a decade.

Speaker 9 (12:21):
Yeah, sure, And I have to say I was so
I don't even know the I mean, shock and awe
really went. I just just the pilot, just the first
two minutes of the pilot, before any of the main
actors even enter the.

Speaker 7 (12:38):
Scene, really just the street.

Speaker 9 (12:40):
Itself and the whole like kind of Mary Alice set
up when she does what she does. I mean, you.

Speaker 10 (12:47):
Can't watch I was gonna say, you have spoiler if
you have spoiler alerts on a show that's twenty one
years old.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
No, no, you see, you're good. You're good.

Speaker 9 (12:58):
But I really felt like it. The jumping off point
was with Steria. Lane is a big star and the
writing is so amazing, and every single actor in it
is just I just I can't get over it. It's
like watching a show that I wasn't in, Like I
I so it really is holding up at least so far,

(13:19):
and uh, I'm we're really enjoying it, and you know, hindsight,
it just.

Speaker 7 (13:24):
It just it's just joy.

Speaker 9 (13:27):
I mean, these guys every every episode when we do
when we do our podcast, we talk about our individual highlights,
and sometimes we'll say, like, what line jumped out at us?
What line of dialogue jumped out at us the most?
And for me, it's just constant.

Speaker 10 (13:41):
It's to the point now, well let's stop talking about
this line.

Speaker 7 (13:43):
Yeah, well yeah, it is true.

Speaker 9 (13:45):
I won't say the line because I've been saying, but
everything I pick it's marsha. I just keep going back to,
like three is so amazing.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
All right, ladies, Hank tight We're going to play some
more music and talk some more, really talking to the
ladies and the new desk Really Devoted Podcast, Harry Hatcher,
Andrew Bowen, and Emerson. Tenny, you're on with Mario Lopez,
and please get back to what you were saying.

Speaker 6 (14:07):
I mean, we talk about this because we mentioned, as
Emerson said, we've only we're only at the kind of
beginning of the first season, but so quickly watching the
first few episodes.

Speaker 7 (14:16):
You know, you're just so committed to this world.

Speaker 6 (14:19):
You're just you're You're fascinated by these people and their
friendships and what they're hiding, and it's it's fantastic television.
And I think that there's a lane for rewatch podcasts happening,
but I imagine not everybody gets to rewatch their show
with you know, so much pride and so much entertainment
values still to reap from today. And I watch it

(14:43):
as now a fan like I am very much a
fan of Desperate Housewives, and that feels really cool twenty
one years after it premiered.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
A'm Maria Lopez catching up with the ladies from the
Desperately Devoted podcast, And what I find fascinating is Desperate
Housewives was such a phenomenon. It initially spawned the Real
Housewives franchise and Bravo, which now just dominates the whole network.
And I don't know how many franchises are. It's bizarre
to see how far that's come. But essentially springboarding from

(15:13):
your show, No, it really did, you know.

Speaker 9 (15:15):
I did a little research into this, and the word
housewife itself kind of fell out of favor, like all
the way back in the seventies when you had the
liberation of women and the free you know, freedom and
the bra burning, and in a way, that idea of
that sort of free character of the perfect housewife didn't

(15:35):
really exist until Mark Cherry brought this show back and
the word housewives. He really, you know, created that resurgence,
had that idea, and you're.

Speaker 7 (15:49):
Right, Bravo took off with it.

Speaker 9 (15:51):
I used to say back in the day that Mark
Cherry deserved some small percentage of.

Speaker 7 (15:55):
All of that, which I don't think he ever got,
but he should have.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
But I mean it's true an assay.

Speaker 6 (16:00):
As a Bravo Real Housewives fan, I think about it
every time because they're openings, they're holding the orange or
they're holding this or that that for their various cities
that they're in, and it's just so.

Speaker 7 (16:11):
Obvious what the source material is.

Speaker 9 (16:14):
But also, can I just say that does kind of
bring us back to like one of the things we're
doing is we are analyzing and rewatching the show, but
we're also using it as a springboard to talk about
modern day culture and certainly as issues apply to women,
which is what's happening on The.

Speaker 7 (16:29):
Real Housewives too, you know.

Speaker 9 (16:31):
So we have that aspect of bringing all of our
different lives into our podcast and hopefully those things will
be people think, people that things, people want to hear
inspired by.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Yeah, so much fun. All right, hay tight, We're gonna
play some more music and come back and wrap it
up with the ladies from the Desperately Devoted Podcast.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
We're the full interview now at on with Mario Doug
More Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Wrap it up with the ladies from the Desperately Devoted Podcast.
Terry Hatch, Andrea Bowen, and Emerson Tinney and Andrew. I saw,
by the way, you announced on social that you're expecting.

Speaker 6 (17:06):
Yeah, thanks, congratulation with my first baby, and we're so excited.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Oh that's fantastic.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
When when's the baby do? Thank you?

Speaker 6 (17:14):
Yeah, I'm having a little girl and we're due later
this year, so all right, not too much longer.

Speaker 5 (17:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (17:20):
But that's another thing that is so cool. That was
an unexpected kind of turn of events in a way
that I get to do this with my on screen
mom and her daughter, and you know, I get to
sit here while getting ready to become a mom to
my daughter, and it's it's just perfect timing to revisit
the show and re visit our memories of it together,

(17:42):
and it's just I feel so grateful to be getting
to do this with both of you.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
That's great. Well, congratulations and congratulations to all you ladies. Everyone.
Please be sure to check out the new podcast, Desperately Devoted,
which you can hear right now on iHeartRadio or wherever

Speaker 3 (17:57):

Thank you much for having us.

Speaker 9 (18:01):
I would say go put on a shirt, but don't.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Okay, girls, Thank you ah Mar Lopez.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Quick reminder that we all get to relive the biggest
moments from our iHeartRadio Music Festival right now on Hulu.
The whole weekend was presented by Capitol One. What incredible
two nights of music like this moment from Tate mccrest.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
It's all get.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
That's my girl, She's my girl, crash, she's so talented.
I'm with Mario dot Com slash Festival form more highlights
and relive the ones in a lifetime moments now only
on Hulu.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Al Maar Lopez. And now that we're in the fall,
officially that means local fairs, county fairs, and state fairs.
And as we talked about the other day, with that
peanut butter and jelly wrapped deep fried cheese burger that
I tried on my show, act sas the faires come
with some pretty crazy food collapse.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
These are real items from all around the country.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
What do we gotsure?

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Well, you didn't mention this part of it, but that
peanut butter and jelly burger with oat milk cheese is
also spicy.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Did you have a spicy one?

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Mine was not spicy, So that's just a whole nother day.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
So I don't know what they're adding to make that
one spicy.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
But there's too much going on there. There's a lot there.
There's deep fried jelly beans.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
That's unnecessary.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
Now, coolickles, These are pickles that are soaked in kool aid.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Ooh, I'm not gonna knock that. I like any iteration
of a pickle.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
Okay, even a cucumber I do. I do love cucumbs. Okay,
there you go. Fried balls of butter. It's just butter,
that's fried.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
That wouldn't that burn your mouth when you bite into it?

Speaker 2 (19:45):
There's absolutely nothing that is unhealthier than that. Well, a
fried ball of butter is about as unhunty as you
can get. It's probably amazing.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
But yeah, there's a muddy pig, which is chocolate covered bacon. See,
those are two things I love. Don't know if it's
gonna work. I don't know if that would maybe maybe
the sweetness in the salt, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
And then finally maybe Yeah. The craziest one deep fried beer.
What even alcohol can be fried when it's pocketed in
pretzel dough.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
You're on. Mario Lopez music rolls on right after some
quick toy bus Mattel going all out for the macOS,
dropping special editions of Barbie and Ken dressed in traditional
ceremonial attire honoring the day of the Dead.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
I've seen the images.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
And it's really good, really good. Barbie is available at Walmart, Amazon,
and Target for under hundred bucks. Ken goes for a
seventy five at Walmart. Deal that those meticals takes place
this year on November first and second. And I love
that it's broadening out outside of the Latin community because
it really is a It's it's so close to Halloween.

(20:48):
People think there's some sort of dark, macabre meaning to it,
but it's about celebrating loved ones that have passed.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
And was there our a Pixar movie about this.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Totally Coco, and it won a lot of awards and
it did really well well, but a lot of people
confuse it because of the imagery.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
Yeah, and it's close to Halloween, so you think you.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Think it's kind of like a dark holday, but it's not.
It's a beautiful holiday and you're celebrating loved ones that
have gone and letting them know that you never forget about.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
Him, and you can do it with Barbie.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
Now.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Yeah, all right, let's get back to music.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Mario Lopez here, getting close to the end of our
radio fund.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Just one last thing to get to plus probably enough
time to play a request or two before I get
out of here at all, and Mario on X tow
Mario Lopez producer Fraser in the studio as well, and
Tom for one last thing.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
A lot of dire space news this past week.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
We got that professor from Harvard who claims an alien
spacecraft is on its way to Earth. All right, sure
it's supposed to be here around December and may even
attack us.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Now I'm starting to question Harvard, and they're he you
never know, let's.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
See, I will see it.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
You know what. He could be right, he could be right,
all right, he could be Jeff Goldblum from Independence say,
no one listened.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Well, now scientists out of Canada are saying an asteroid
might be on a collision course with the Moon in
twenty thirty two.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Let's get through this alien thing first.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
How does that affect us? By the way, if the
moon that they're the moon is just a big star,
isn't it.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
No, it's not a star.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
No, the moon is just a body that is floating,
and or it's it's a star, it's not.

Speaker 6 (22:14):
No.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
It basically a star is like the sun anything like
stars are burning, they're always there.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
Yeah, they're burning, they're gas, they're on fire, they create
heat and light and all that. The Moon is a cold,
dead rock that is floating around, probably hollow and put
there by aliens at some point.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
That looks like a that looks like a planet.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
But it does look like a planet, and there's a
lot of weird stuff with the Moon. However, it is
problematic if a giant asteroid were to hit the Moon,
because the Moon controls our tides.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Well, here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
If it does happen, it'd be the largest impact with
the Moon in the past five thousand years. I was
not aware that a bunch of other stuff has struck
the Moon.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Were we keeping track of that?

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Well, the Moon's resilient. I'll give it that.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
That's it. Thanks the Terriatre, Andrew to Numbers and Tenni
for joining us.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
More of that chat up now at Onmarrio dot com.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
