Honey, this is from at Sneaky Kangaroo. I love a
good sneaky kangaroo. Mario, I noticed something a little hypocritical,
don't we? All? The other day in your comments about
Jason Bateman and dogs, you said you agree with Jason
that dog's feet are dirty and at least need to
be wiped down before entering the house, But you don't
wash your feet. What is up with that?
Speaker 4 (06:54):
He doesn't watch the bottom?

A little more music. They're going to Fire of Zoom
so we can chat with actor and sing Dermott mulrooney.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
He's still on Chicago Fire. A new movie out later
this week, and we got to talk the Hunting Wives,
all that and more. When Dermott joins usn't it.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Obro Mario Lopez joining me right now on Zoom Actor
and musician mister Dermot mulrooney. How you been Dermott?
Speaker 6 (08:16):
Really good?
Speaker 7 (08:17):
Mario?
Speaker 6 (08:17):
How you doing?
Speaker 2 (08:18):
I'm doing well, man, I'm doing well. This is really cool.
I'm looking forward to this. Your new movie, Long Shadows
is hitting theaters November seventh. It's a Western, one of
my favorite genres. I love me a Western. What's the
premise of this film?
Speaker 6 (08:32):
Well, it's an incredible film, so beautiful.
Speaker 7 (08:35):
A journey of a young man who's seeking revenge after
is suffered an early childhood trauma loss of his family,
but he doesn't do it in normal way. He goes
kind of into a different realm, so you'll see that.
I played kind of a reflection of the lead character,
Marcus Stylers, the name. He's played beautifully by Blaine May,
(08:58):
nice man actor coming on. So we were thrilled to
work together and bring this really kind of mystical Western
to you.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Like I said, I love the genre. I'm so glad
Westerns are really kind of making a comeback and having.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
Absolutely, and this one is in theaters.
Speaker 7 (09:12):
It's really big, beautiful cinematic movie, so definitely the best
way to see it. Yes, and you'll have that chance
November seven, so catch it in the theater. I was
hoping that, you know, guys are our age, and of
course we're going to love Westerns, men, women, I mean,
people's let's get those young people out and restart Westerns
(09:37):
in the theater.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Absolutely. I fell in love with the when I was young.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
It's just pretty.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Look at your right, you do appreciate more in the theater.
Where'd you shoot it at? Germany?
Speaker 7 (09:44):
This is an old too soon it's outside the city
there in Arizona, I'd never worked there before, but it's
a classic location, hundreds of westerns being shot there over
the over the years.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
All right, well again the movie is Long Shadows. German
Hank Tight. We're gonna have more with Moulrooney after a quick.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Break, more fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
German Moulrooney on Zoom this hour without Mario Lopez here,
He's got a new western out this Friday. But speaking
of classics, you've done some westerns in the eighties, classic
Young Guns, which I loved. What's your favorite genre of
movie to make?
Speaker 6 (10:20):
Well, this might be, This might.
Speaker 7 (10:22):
Be just because of the extra stuff. I've always been
a rider my whole life. Certainly those movies, you'd have
to list them off. Last Outlaws, a great movie HBO
made with Mickey yor great cast. Bad Girls had its
place in our lives there in the in the mid nineties,
and a ton of other westerns. I was in Sam
(10:42):
Shepherd's movie Silent Tongue with River and Richard Harris Allen Bates.
Speaker 6 (10:46):
So this is like coming home from me.
Speaker 7 (10:50):
I love the livestock and the whole field, but this
Long Shadows has a very classic field with if I'd
say it's sort of a modern modern twist or has
a good.
Speaker 6 (11:03):
Sort of updated psychology to it.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Yeah, it must be so much fun to.
Speaker 6 (11:06):
Film, and it's amazing. You'll come out next time.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
All right, sounds good.
Speaker 7 (11:10):
But one of these mustaches on there or something. You know,
people make those cameos.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
I can write too many time.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
All right, sounds good. German Han tied back to talk
more in a sec. But first more music. You're al
Mario Lopez catching up with Deerman mulroney this hour. New
movie is Long Shadows. But you're also in the thickest
season fourteen of your show, Chicago Fire. What's going on
with your character, Chief Pascal?
Speaker 7 (11:35):
Chief Pascal I go was gifted with this role. Last
year season thirteen, he went through a ring or lost
his wife, and you really had a beautiful, tough depiction
of a man going through processing his grief. So we
found him season fourteen still, you know, still struggling with
that and swise, there's new people in his life, stay tuned,
(11:59):
and terrible budget cuts in the city, so we got
to keep a house together. And I think Chief Pascal's
is the man Mario I've loved working on that show
for all the reasons that you think just you don't
know what's coming next, you know, like the real person,
you don't know what's going to happen in the chiefs
(12:20):
life next.
Speaker 6 (12:20):
So I love that feeling of kind of falling off
the old of the.
Speaker 7 (12:23):
Clift each week when the script comes and you learn
what's going to happen next exactly.
Speaker 6 (12:28):
I've been watching it this season too. I recommend it.
Speaker 7 (12:31):
It's such a great show, and the actors I work
with are brilliant and beautiful in that In Firehouse fifty one,
really great group of people.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Oh that's cool, man, Well, Hank tight Dermott, little music
and we're going to talk some more. Getting back to
Jerma mulroney, who's on Zoom, Rio Lopez here and over
the summer. Man, you want a really buzzy show on
Netflix called The Hunting Wives. I remember the first episode
of my wife and I were watching. We're like, oh, okay,
what'd you think about the reception of that show? And
you had a fun character.
Speaker 6 (12:59):
That's just the first episode that actually it goes down.
Speaker 7 (13:03):
I feel from there, which every way to look at it,
but that was really something else I knew. We put
our heart and soul and a couple other things into
it for sure, but you never know, right, So this
one just took off. I think it hit a it
hit a little ticklish pocket there that everybody of all
(13:25):
stripes loved this show. On the other shows, I do
kind of fall into a certain fan type or category,
you know, but this was just across the board and
the way people have viewed stuff now, where they bins
through something on a streamer, it's a totally different like
absorb absorption ratio, you know.
Speaker 6 (13:45):
So that one, that one just really took off.
Speaker 7 (13:47):
We're so proud of it, and we go even really
right away next month to start filming second season.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Nice, what a fun character to play.
Speaker 6 (13:57):
I saw.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Again.
Speaker 7 (14:00):
I don't know what's in season two, but as far
as I know, Jed Banks is still running for governors.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Okay, all right, one more thing I want to ask
quick break and we're gonna come back and rap it up.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
You're the full interview now at on with Mario donc
more Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Raping up with Drumamo Rony. You're on with Mario Lopez
and I saw your band Jack Rabbits playing the famous
whiskey a go go we heard, well.
Speaker 6 (14:24):
We got that gig. So here's what I do.
Speaker 7 (14:26):
I sing with my brother Kieran, just a straight country
duoll and we figured we'd bring it out and the
things kind of caught on. We have beautiful original songs.
We do a couple of covers, country covers. But then
we start getting these getting these gigs and then the
Whiskey Go Go called couldn't believe it, so it would
(14:46):
be like a country night at the Whiskey then night.
I recommend you come out in November twenty third. That's
the Sunday before the Thanksgiving week, so you know nobody's
working on Monday.
Speaker 6 (14:56):
Yeah, so come on out and you know, kick your
boots around.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Sounds good man. I like a good reason to throw
on a hat and get really fun.
Speaker 7 (15:03):
That's the reason, and that's the whole idea with this acts.
You enjoy it if you come see tell your fans
right o.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
Well, congrats on everything you got going on. Dermott and everyone,
please be sure to check out Dermott in the New
Western Long Shadows and every Wednesday as Chief Pascal in
Chicago Fire on NBC. Thanks for taking the time, so.

dropped their choice for twenty twenty five is word of
the year.
Speaker 7 (16:02):
Six'.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Seven that's the word of the, year and it got
popular When Jen alpha on social, media which is younger
than Gen. Z i hate all of this has spread
through schools and online. Circles they thought six to seven
was going to go, away but it just kept growing
larger and, larger and now it's a. Phenomenon and they
also admit it's meaningless and. Nonsensical what happens is whenever
(16:23):
someone says the words six, seven the kids go. Berserk
so they go to like in And out and they'll
order a bunch of stuff and they'll wait for the
number six seven to be called and then they'll go.
Crazy there's videos of, it and it's, Like, wow kids
have changed a.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
Lot is that all we really have to look forward to?

(17:31):
talk about this article THAT i saw AND i had
to post it BECAUSE i literally laughed out aloud because
it's me it, said Gen z is confused why older
generations use the ominous boomer ellipses insane at, best which
is funny if you don't know what ellipses. Is it
is the little three dots after a, sentence dot dot.
(17:52):
Dot i'm that's my go. TO i use ellipses all the,
time and what.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
It means IS i don't Think i'm a, boomer BUT
i use it a lot.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
Too, YEAH i don't think About i'm not a boomer,
Either but the ellipses means the continuation of a. Thought
it's usually for your interpretation or something. Intended so that's
WHY i like the. Ellipses it's a little. Mysterious but
apparently Gen z gets too stressed. Out come, on Gen,
z what are you.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
