This week, students in the automotive lab at a high
school in Virginia, So they are learning to diagnose problems
and take apart engines, but they've taken it a step further,
restoring donated cars so that are later given to single
mothers who need reliable transportation. Teacher Shane Robertson says the
best part is when a mother realizes the car is
(00:56):
truly hers to keep. The effort grew after the school
partnered with nonprofit Giving Words, which has helped provide more
than sixty cars to families and repair more than two
hundred and sixty vehicles. Giving Words founder Eddie Brown says
students don't fully grasp the weight of their work until
they match a mother and receive their car, and that
gives new meaning to their time in the Shaw.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
Very cool high school kids in Virginia.

We are putting questionable Christmas songs in the spotlight of
the Mario Music Minute. Let's decide whether or not these
are actual Christmas songs.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
Absolutely yes, got a doubt. I love that song.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
It's an underrated song. Again, I gotta use that on
my ig Christmas picks. And it goes with the movie
Christmas Vacation. That's Lindsay Buckingham.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Of course, What's next? Rain Drops on Roses wiscusone kittens, right.
I don't necessarily think of this as a Christmas song.
Speaker 6 (02:50):
I don't either, but I guess it could be.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
It kind of has, when you really think about it,
a sort of Christmas feel to it. But the movie
itself does deal with Christmas. That's why the one with
Lindsay Buckingham does.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
And What's Next, well, all.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Christian songs should be considered Christmas songs because yeah, there's
Christ in the title, and that's of course Hallelujah by
Leonard Cohen.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
It's been covered endlessly.
Speaker 6 (03:23):
And it's been on a lot of Christmas albums, so.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Yeah, let us know what you think of and on
with Mario Abby Holidays from the entire on with Mario
fam more fest and fun coming up.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Well, Courtney Lopez, here was some quick buzz.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Now it's taking almost thirty five years, but Tom Cruise
is in talks to return to the racetrack Parama wants
to make a sequel to his NASCAR drama Days of
Thunder fun movie with Paul Newman back in the day.
It could take a minute, though.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Well, Days of Thunder back in the Day made one
hundred and fifty eight million dollars at the box office,
and that was in nineteen ninety.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
It's a lot of money. All right, let's get back
to music, y'all. Are Courtney Lopez? Few more songs?
Speaker 6 (04:03):
I'm going to serve up.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
Some fresh justice in Quarto's core.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Gonna dive into today's case shortly, but wanted to quickly
mention that if you find yourself in the middle of
a dispute word situation, or you just need some good advice,
slide into our DMS over on ig at On with
Mario Lopez and maybe Judge Quarto can help you out.
All right, hang tight back with Corto's court intent. Y'all
mare Courtney Lopez, time to dish out some common sounds.
(04:26):
Justice all rise.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
Courtney's court is now in session.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Today's case comes from at DC Laurie and they say,
I've noticed my adult daughter has been overly harsh and
impatient lately, and now my five year old granddaughter has
started talking back to her kindergarten teacher. I try to
tell my daughter how to parent, she gets angry.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
So how do I.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Get her to see how her behavior is affecting her daughter.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Well? As a mother. Obviously, maybe your daughter, your adult daughter,
is going through something where she is very short, incurg
and and maybe she needs some time to herself, maybe
she needs to get on some medication, whatever the case
may be. But I do agree with you the way
you parent your kids, they learn from that and they
(05:13):
see how you treat other people. With your daughter, I
feel like you need to dig a little deeper and
just find out what's going on, because I feel like
there's something else that's causing her to be curt and
you know, talk to people like that. And then with
the granddaughter, you have to you have to tell her
you can't be talking to people like that. I let
my mom tell my kids that all the time. I
(05:35):
whatever she wants to tell them, she tells them. But
I also tell my kids the way my mom talks
to people sometimes is not okay. So it's it's a
vicious like that.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Great Happy Holidays from the entire on with Mario fam
More fest and Fun coming.
Speaker 3 (05:48):

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Mario Courtney Lopez. Here was a quick food buzz.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Black Current is about to have a major moment McCormick
Flavor of the Year for twenty twenty six. They say
the trend fizzul right into time when people are cooking
at home. More and creating tiny splurges that feel luxurious
without having to break the bank.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
Okay, now, you may think you hardly ever see anything
on the menu with black current, but McCormick says it's coming,
and around the world they are already seeing black Current
popping up and everything from cocktails to glazes.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
All right.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
On with Courney Lopez digging into the buzz because wedding
bells are ringing for Miley Cyrus. She's engaged to her
drummer boyfriend Max Mirando. The couple was first link to
a mantically in December of twenty twenty one after they
were spotted backstage during Miley's NBC holiday special. News of
their engagement was fueled after they attended the Avatar World
(07:10):
premiere in Los Angeles and she was seen sporting a
diamond ring on her left hand finger. I have to
be honest, I didn't even notice the ring because I
was just in awe of both of their heads of hair.
Speaker 6 (07:25):
They both have good wigs.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Their hairstylist is making a fortune. Okay, you haven't seen it.
Speaker 5 (07:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (07:32):
I need to look, though, I'm gonna look.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
Well.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
We know Miley was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth,
who had no hair back in twenty eighteen. Thor's brother
Thor's brother for less than a year, so that was part.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
Of the problem.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
Just kept calling Thor's brother.
Speaker 5 (07:44):
He didn't like it.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Happy Holidays to you and yours. This is on with
Mario Lopez.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
Won't be right back.
Speaker 4 (07:51):

Speaker 2 (07:54):

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Almar Courtney Lopez Cordo keeping it festive is she tries
to make us laugh with a festive holiday mom joke.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
What do you got? What nationality is Santa Claus? What
North Polish? So do the holidays make you feel nostalgic?
You're on with Courtney Lopez And I said that very softly,
because I feel like nostalgia comes with the softness. No
doubt most of us get a bit of nostalgic from
time to time, but a new survey says that eighty
(08:51):
percent of us admit to daydreaming about the simpler times
of our you every day when TV was just ten channels,
faced to face interactions were the norm, and music and
movies were on CD and vhs. Some people even saying
that they missed chatting with a store clerk and writing
and receiving handwritten letters.
Speaker 6 (09:11):
What's the last time you got a handwritten letter?
Speaker 3 (09:13):
I don't not a thank you note, okay, because I
was going to say, just me and my daughter write
thank you notes. It's been a minute. Yeah, since I've
gotten a handwritten letter.
Speaker 6 (09:24):
Last time was when my brother was kidnapped.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Shut up, you're seeing now. I often think of my
childhood and things that happened when I was young, and
I know you do too. I see your pictures.
Speaker 6 (09:37):
You're always like. I get super nostalgic now because I
feel like, I don't know if everyone else did this,
but my parents took photos of everything throughout my childhood,
and luckily there's boxes and boxes of them, and every
time I go back home, I always like take photos
of them or scan them or whatever. And now it's
like I have hard drives just full of my childhood,
which is amazing.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
And now that's why when my kids are like, why
are you taking all these pictures? Because we appreciate it
later and they're older and they will appreciate it. So
don't stop doing that, parents, cot that The countdown.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
At Christmas continues in moments. This is on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
I'm Mario, Courtney Lopez, quickly saying happy holidays and congrats
again to all of our five thousand dollars winners and iheartradios.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Thank a teacher of course, powered.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
By donors choose and they's still time for you to
dominate a public school teacher making a difference.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
And maybe give them the gift of being one of
our next winners of five a grand and make over
their classroom. Help us say thank you to the educators
shaping our future. I know we do. Nominate your favorite teacher.
Now at onwith Mario dot com slash Teachers. You're on
with Courtney Lopez and getting to a random question. Shortly
more music as well, but first Fraser is going to
(10:46):
try to make us think with a random thought. Okay,
what do you got?
Speaker 6 (10:49):
Oh so this happened on the way in and It
drives me nuts. I don't understand. I have been in
all kinds of cars throughout my life, really really nice cars,
crappy cars. I've I've sat in a bunch of cars.
How people do not know your blinker is on for
so long is insane to me. I don't get it.
(11:11):
Every car makes a noise, there's flashing lights. Yeah, how
are you driving for miles with your blinker on? Is
it just this is not directed at you?
Speaker 3 (11:21):
This is is it the both blinkers?
Speaker 6 (11:25):
No, No, not hazards. It's just one blinker, just cruising.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
I have done that before, but I caught it quickly.
Speaker 6 (11:32):
I just understand how you're not hearing it. And if
you're not hearing it, you would at least see the
light blinking.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
I drive with my eyes closed, so maybe not.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
You're a Mario Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Break out your Santa Claus since time for Corney's a
random holiday question.
Speaker 5 (11:49):
What you got?
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Who is the best actor to play Santa Claus?
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Now, okay, the best actor to play Santa Claus? Who
is the greatest thespian or who made the best Santa Claus?
Speaker 6 (12:00):
Obviously Billy Bob Thornton in Bad Santa.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Do you guys have a question though, like, who's the
greatest best? Been too plays hand. I'm gonna answer that first.
The greatest actor that I can think of to play
Santa Claus would have to be between Tom Hanks and
Paul GIAMAI.
Speaker 6 (12:14):
Those are the best actors. Know who's the best portrayal?
Speaker 5 (12:17):
I like Kurt.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Russell's version in Christmas Chronicles. He's the coolest and also
a great Santa Claus right there. But but Tim Allens
was solid. That was burl Ives. You gotta go old
school burl Ives.
Speaker 6 (12:30):
You do have to kind of give it to Tim Allen.
He's still playing Santa.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Let us know what you think of On with Mario
Holidays from the entire on with Mario, fam more fest
and fun coming up.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
O Mario Courtney Lopez, And all I want for Christmas
is for you to watch our son Dominic in his
new holiday movie Chasing Christmas on Great American Family. You
can also stream it on Great American Pure Flix. He's
really cute in it, and he's a fun cute movie
and our boy is doing all. Mario Lopez about to
fire up the zoom and chat with Brian Bombgartner from
(13:05):
the office.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
He's got a new holiday book to tell us about.
I'm gonna find out all about it next.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
All Mario Lopez and joining me now on Zoom Brian
Bombgartner from the office.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
How you doing, Brian?
Speaker 5 (13:17):
How's it going? Mario? Ho Ho Ho? Mary, Holidays to.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
You, Ho Ho ho. Mary Holiday's made Christmas to you too?
You cooking up a big batch of chili? What's up?
Speaker 5 (13:30):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (13:30):
We'll do some brisket or something for Christmas and make
some good chili out of that the next day too.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
It is always better the next day. Do you have
a favorite holiday episode of The Office mine?
Speaker 5 (13:41):
You know, I would say the first one, Christmas Party.
Speaker 7 (13:45):
It was the episode the Yankee Swap with Michael Scott.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
And it was the episode.
Speaker 7 (13:51):
It didn't launch the show, right, but that episode kind
of launched the success of the show. It got the
biggest audience that we've had since the premiere. Yeah, and
from there, you know, we struggled, as you know, early
on in the show, and from that episode on is
when we sort of took off. And part of the
book is you mentioned the Christmas episodes that that was
(14:14):
an inspiration for the book. We started getting told I
used to watch like The Grinch and Christmas Story in
those movies. We kept being told by fans that when
they get together over the holidays, they binge watched the
Christmas episodes of the Office. So this book is meant
as a gift to to our fans and others who
(14:36):
watched those episodes and and.
Speaker 5 (14:38):
Can bring a little dunder Mifflin nice.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
True, And was that that one was not the Night
before Christmas at Dounder Mifflin or that is that the
one you're talking about.
Speaker 7 (14:47):
No, so this is a brand new story the Night
before Christmas at dunder Mifflin.
Speaker 5 (14:52):
You holding up the book.
Speaker 7 (14:53):
Hey, I mean people say don't judge a book by
its cover, but I think the cover is beautiful.
Speaker 5 (14:59):
So you can judge it by the cover all you want.
It is a beautiful it's this is really a news story.
Speaker 7 (15:04):
It takes inspiration from all of the Office Christmas episodes
as well as as moments iconic moments from some of
the characters.
Speaker 5 (15:13):
You mentioned that the Chili might make an appearance in
the book.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
I'll be honest, I like it all right, Brian Haying
time we're gonna have more Brian bomb Gartner coming up.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Cabby Holidays, from the entire on with Mario fam more
fest and fun coming up.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Catch it up with Brian bomb Gardner from the Office,
You're on with Mario Lopez. How hard was it to
combine the Office with with with with the Nightmare before
Christmas at dunder Mifflin.
Speaker 5 (15:39):
There, Yeah, I mean, look, rhyming was the hardest.
Speaker 7 (15:43):
You know, everybody knows the night before Christmas and all
through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even
a mouse. So everything is in those rhyming couplets, so
we we had to we had to make it rhyme
as well. I think we took some liberties with nods
of the show, but that was definitely.
Speaker 5 (16:03):
The most the most difficult part of it.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Catching up with Brian Baumgardner. You're alla Mario Lopez and
will this be.
Speaker 6 (16:09):
The first in a series of office books?
Speaker 2 (16:11):
I mean, it's already best sellers, so I would suspect,
so you know.
Speaker 5 (16:15):
We'll see we're starting with this.
Speaker 7 (16:17):
People have been responding so positive positively to it. The
illustrations in the book are what I am?
Speaker 5 (16:25):
I am.
Speaker 7 (16:25):
You mentioned Glenn Keene, who did trash truck. You know,
he's an Oscar winning producer, animator and uh I got
together with his team. Mael did the actual illustrations, but
work closely with Glenn, who I'd worked with before, and
I'm so proud of how it looks. I think people
will love this new version of all the characters that
(16:50):
they love for so many years.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Might you take on other holidays, like could they be
the office Cinco de Mayo, something.
Speaker 7 (16:57):
Like that, Cinco de Mayo, that's I'm gonna I'm to
put that in the hopper.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
We're gonna put that in the hopper and workshop it.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
And you could spend it with the title Cinco to Mario,
and I could guest star in the whole things I
produced and cast it myself.
Speaker 5 (17:10):
Sinco to Mario at dunder Mifflin. That sounds awesome.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
I watch that.
Speaker 7 (17:15):
We did like to have cocktails, so I think bring
again some margaritas and some tacos is definitely possible. I mean,
there's Halloween, there's Arbor Day, I guess.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
Or July Easter.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Sure, it goes on and on. Wrapping up with Brian Baumgardner,
you're all with Mario Lopez. A couple of fun holiday
questions for you? What famous person do you think it
would be the most fun to spend the holidays with?
Speaker 5 (17:44):
Wow? Most?
Speaker 7 (17:46):
What famous person would be the most fun to spend
the holidays with? I will you know, I'll go I'll
go with someone I've spent many holidays with and is
always fun, at least on television.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
Steve Carell.
Speaker 7 (18:01):
I'll go with Steve Carell would be the most fun
because he's always fun.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
Good answer, what would your elf name be?
Speaker 5 (18:10):
Dumpy?
Speaker 2 (18:13):
What was your favorite holiday gift growing up that you received?
Speaker 5 (18:17):
I mean, a bike is boring?
Speaker 7 (18:20):
I guess I think that, Like you know, what really
cemented Santa being real for me was coming out of
my bedroom one Christmas morning.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
And seeing a giant lion.
Speaker 7 (18:38):
Which is something that I knew that no parent or
relative of mine would ever give me. And when I
say a giant lion, I mean a lion the size
of me now. And for me seeing that and thinking
this was the most incredible thing ever.
Speaker 5 (18:56):
Yeah, that's that. I guess that would be it, because
that's the moment I knew Santa was real.
Speaker 4 (19:01):
Where did you keep that giant light?
Speaker 5 (19:04):
The giant line? It stayed in my room forever. I
was gonna say it's still there. It's not still there,
because that would be disturbing.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
That'd be awesome.
Speaker 5 (19:13):
It stayed in my room.
Speaker 7 (19:16):
I mean my parents moved, I guess, but it was
probably there into my twenties in the corner of my room,
hanging out.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
So yeah, that would be a giant lion.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Well, Brian Bombgartner, Kevin from the office lives on for
the holidays, and the night before Christmas had dunder Mifflin
available everywhere now, Brian, Happy holidays to you and your family.
Man God bless.
Speaker 5 (19:37):
Ho ho ho. Mario, Happy holidays to you and yours.
I hope to see you soon.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Happy Holidays to you and yours. This is on with
Mario Lopez.
Speaker 5 (19:45):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
Time to pass the mic and you're ready for Santa.
That's going to do it for a night.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Big thing to Brian Bombgardner for zooming in hope you
can join us tomorrow as we celebrate Christmas with you.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Until them, this is Mario and Courtney Lopez saying good
night and Merry Christmas
