They chose parasocial, which is all thanks to Taylor Swift.
They define parasocial as a connection that someone feels between
themselves and a famous person they do not know that
can even be ai. Okay, that's kind of odd. The
word has been around since nineteen fifty six, but Cambridge

(00:49):

NFL star Travis Kelce that created a major surgeon searches
for the word on both Google in Cambridge's site. Oh

You may think, well, won't the cheese go bad?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
No, cheese doesn't really ever go bad as a matter
of fact, and I'm not making this up.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
You can google it.

Well, Mario, how you been a long time?

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I see, yeah, nice to see you. That's right, that's right.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
But I enjoy speaking with you because I'm really excited
about your new film called Deadly Vals, based on a
true story. Film sounds pretty intense. What's the premise, Actually.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
It's not.

Speaker 6 (03:19):
A woman who escapes the Iran Iraq war moves to
Los Angeles to Beverly Hills. I think she gets into
this sound and supportive relationship and some kids, and then
suddenly finds her husband's put a hit out on her.
She manages to survive that, and it's about her recovery
and fundamentally, the way she really heals from this insanity

(03:41):
and trauma is through the power of forgiveness. And that's
what attracted me to it. I play investigating an officer
or a detective who helps her through the journey, and it's
it was just something I felt that it had to
be told, and I had to throw in.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Did you get to meet any of the real life
people her?

Speaker 5 (04:05):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (04:06):
And you know she's a kind of a producer and
bella and a co director, and it was very it
was it was really quite an amazing journey through the process.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
I have to say that's awesome.

Speaker 7 (04:21):
Man.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Well, a lot more to talk about to hang time.
We're gonna more with Billy after a quick.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Break, Lopez next getting.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Back to Billy Zay, who's hanging out on zoom Mario
Lopez Here, we're just talking about you playing a real
person in one of your movies. And speaking of real people,
I love that you stepped into the shoes of legend
Marlon Brando for your film waltzingk with Brando. I'm still
really looking forward to, uh seeing that and why it's
just bizarre how Unkenny look just like him. What was

(04:49):
the makeup process like to make that transition?

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Thank you?

Speaker 6 (04:52):
Well, firstly, you got you can see it today we
go live on svo D. You can rent it there.
It is today we dropped, so the timing of this
interview is more fortuitous. Yeah, you can get it on
Amazon Prime or Apple or anywhere you buy and.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
Download now rent okay, so you can rent it. Have
fun with that.

Speaker 6 (05:13):
Playing him was, you know, an incredible treat and was
as far as the makeup was concerned. We we we
created quite a few of his like significant films certainly
The Godfather, where he was wearing quite a bit of makeup.
We had the exact kind of molds and appliances going there.

(05:33):
That was a few hours of makeup. The rest of
the time was pretty much a nose bump and a
wig and you.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
Know, channeling him. I guess all.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Right, Well we got more Billies ain't coming out, but
first one Ala Maire Lopez catching up with after Billy
Zane and we were just talking about your movie Waltzing
with Brando and one of your kids was in the
film too, right.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
That's right. Both. One is a smaller role jumping on
a bed. You just wanted to do it and didn't
want any dialogue, and which was fine.

Speaker 6 (06:00):
But my daughter, that would be Ga, My daughter Ava
Zane plays Bernard Judge's daughter, Sabrina, and uh yeah, what
a natural, you know, and did not need much kind
of coaching.

Speaker 5 (06:14):
That's improvising, going toe to toe. We had a lovely
scene together.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
I like it. I have a daughter g as well. Yeah,
it's a great name.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
A little more music, and then back with more Billy
Zane catching up with Billy Zay and this hour Mario
Lopez here already talked about one.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Of your new movies.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
But you've also got another film on the way called Takeover,
just starting alongside Quemo from Migos.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
How was that?

Speaker 6 (06:37):
It was amazing, a little little action movie.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
I won't say it's a buddy.

Speaker 6 (06:41):
You know, we're foils, but we're you know, in a
in a car escaping a lockdown.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
As kids. He's recently released.

Speaker 6 (06:52):
A very celebrated driver doing these kind of crazy takeovers
around Atlanta, and we we got to run a gauntlet
to get out, and I played this mastermind who figures
that the best time to pull it a heist is
during one such takeover because the cops are pretty occupied.

(07:13):
It's not just a cool plot, it's the execution of
this the directory in all of the I guess it's
beyond rotoscoping and animation and integrated animation for Sin City
if you remember back in the day. This is a
very modern, really beautifully executed mix of almost real live

(07:34):
action and anime and overlay. So you're going to see
something you've never seen before. It's really beautiful.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Nice man, that's awesome.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
A right, one more thing I want to ask, but
we got to take a quick break and we're gonna
come back and wrap it up.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
You're the full interview now on with Mario doc more
Mario Lopez on.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
The way wrapping up with Billy zaying, you're all with
Mario Lopez and just real quick. Your first movie role
was in Back to the Future, which was forty years ago,
and to be part of that classic.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Played match one of the kids in bibs Gangs.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Well, what do you remember about your time on set there?

Speaker 6 (08:04):
It's crazy that it's that laur Ago. I know, we
just celebrated the anniversary. Yeah, first film in town. I
was eighteen. Wow, you know, Baptism by Fire was here
like two weeks.

Speaker 5 (08:15):
It was a heard of.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
It to land itself. Wow, that's awesome.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
So I was like, okay, that's so, it's always going
to be here. Figure that out quick. And then so
it was a bit.

Speaker 6 (08:28):
It was a it was an education to work, you
know back lot at Universal with such great talent in
that setting, you know, it was a it was a playground.
We were watching state of the art technology being applied,
motion capture, motion control, robotic cameras. That was on Part two,
I guess. But it was the industry at the at

(08:51):
its height doing such a kind of significant, very modern
yet retro offering. But running around Universal back lot with
the other guys was just like you know, man, it
was like camp for six months.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
It doesn't get better than that.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Man, That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
Really, I always enjoyed talking to my friend and listen everyone,
please be sure to check out Billy's new films Deadly
Vows and Waltzing with Brando, which are out now.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Thanks for checking in.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
I always a pleasure your brother.

Speaker 8 (09:21):
Thank you, youtbea and thank you likewise, keep you the

(09:41):
music and fun coming your way.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Mari and Courtney Lopez here.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
And I think we're going to see what's bouncing around
in Cordo's head with a random thought.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
What you got, honey?

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Do you, guys, when you're driving and look at people
passing you wonder like where they're going?

Speaker 7 (09:55):
First of all, no one passes me because I speed,
But I do look at people.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
When you're passing, As you pass them speeding, do you
ever wonder like where they're going?

Speaker 3 (10:05):
The only time I wonder where someone is going is
when there's traffic at an odd hour for no reason.
Well you're in that, but that's every Yeah, I know,
but I have like weird schedule but like, why is
the freeway packed at eleven thirty am. It's not really large.
Everybody should be at work. Why is a packed? Where
are all these people going at this particular hour?

Speaker 7 (10:24):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (10:24):
I get six seven am eleven thirty. You should be
where you're at already.

Speaker 7 (10:28):
I kind of have that general feeling all the time
in traffic because traffic is always bad in LA. But
every now and then I'll see somebody in traffic and
I do wonder, like, where's that? What's that person doing?

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Like my mind makes up scenarios. They just came there
having an affair. They just want to this person's house,
so I don't have.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
To go there.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
I don't know. I just you know, okay, but I do.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
It's fun now, I know you think.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Jo Mario Lopez quick reminder, if you ever miss anything
from our show, you can relive it all on demand
by checking out are On with Mario Daily Replay podcast,
a more concise version of the show without all the music.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
It's a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
Plus or on Mario Interviews podcast has my full conversations
when everyone stops by on Mario dot com for those
and speaking of podcasts, one of my favorite actors. Jason
Bateman did an episode of Subway Takes and had a
really interesting take on dogs.

Speaker 9 (11:16):
So what's your take dogs should have to wear shoes?
You was disgusted by them just tracking around the sidewalk
the road, and they come into your house, they get
on your bed, they're kissing your face after they've been kissing.
I don't understand why they get a pass on that.
And then like they sit on your pillow and then

(11:37):
you're sleeping on that pillow.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
And you know what, Bateman is one hundred percent correct.
It makes total sense. And the irony is most people
that make you take off your shoes as you enter
their home have no problem let their dogs go outside,
come right in, jump in their bed, and be all over. Meanwhile,
dogs are stepping on their pee in their poo.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
I agree, I agree with him.

Speaker 7 (11:57):
I don't agree with the shoe part instead of that yet,
I literally I kid you not. When I take my
dogs out because we live in la which is a
gross city. Yes, I take my dogs out of ringment.
I wipe their feet off.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Yeah, that's the thing we have to we need wet
wipes for that.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
For the dogs. Oh, Mario Lopez, dog feet. Oh, I
like that. I like that.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yes, Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 3 (12:18):

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Twenty twenty six Coachella lineup has dropped, so Abrina Carpenter
and the Bebes will headline next year's festival. Of course,
is returning to Indio, specifically Coachella. That's actually the name
of the town right here in California, and it will
be the home for two huge musical weekends April tenth
through the twelfth and April seventeenth through the nineteenth. My
niece and daughter already hit us up for it, and

(13:08):
no is.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
The answer right now, little.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
Too young, I'm all ready dreading all my pictures on
social media. Everyone just you know, posting. Well. Some of
the others taking the stage along Sabrina and Justin are
Teddy Swims, Carol g In an international girl group, Kat's
Eye his favorite with Mario dot Com for more details.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
All Mario Lopez. You know they used to say that
forty was over the hill. I can't believe I used
to see cards like that all the time. Well, they're
not saying it anymore. New research says that it turns
out we might actually reach our mental and emotional peak
around the age of sixty.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
I still got some time.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Researchers found that while physical strength declines after the mid twenties,
and I don't know if I necessarily agree with that.
By the way, I think maybe you're not as twitchy. Yeah,
but you get what's called that old man strength as
you get older. And that's serious anyway. Intelligence, personality, emotional intelligence,
and decision making continue improving, reaching a peak around sixty

(14:07):
huh okay, But I don't want to start declining after
a sixty yet. I think you can be sharp.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
He is the new over the hill.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Fair enough more Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Move over, Fomo there's a new vibe taking storm. Romo,
You're all with Mario Lopez, You're not familiar. Romo is
the relief of missing out. Ah, instead of stressing out
about not being everywhere and doing everything, Romo is all
about the joy of not being involved. Picked up steam
after actor Killian Murphy joked about having Romo over not

(14:39):
being chosen for the new film The Odyssey, said he
was actually looking forward to just watching it. I like
Killian Murphy a lot as an actor, and I'm liking
him as a person.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
He's kind of my spirit animal he is. He's so chill.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
He said something along the lines like one must enjoy
the pleasure.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Of just being at home. So true.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Romo the relief of missing out introm all the time.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
You are Mario Lopez. Got a fake debate coming up in.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Just two or three songs, So you got to pick
your side, Team Mario or Team Cordo. Back to find
out who's pro and who's con and what we're debating next.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
All Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
Time for a weekly fake debate where the topics are
made up right on the spot, but.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
The passion is real. All right, Fraser, Who's pro who's con.
You will be con.

Speaker 7 (15:22):
Courtney will be pro because you were pro last week.
We have fifteen seconds make your case, ten second rebuttal afterwards.
Your topic today is Mario Lopez's hair.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Yes, see seem hm wow.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
I don't even know, mister Lopez struggling. It's high. Here's
the thing.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Here's the thing about my wig is that I don't
like the way it grows. I got one side growing
to the side, another side grows another way.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
It's got the cow lick.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
I'm happy I have it still, but the way it
grows and it's much too great, too soon, missus Lopez.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
I think you should be happy at your age having
that head of hair.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
And you know, at your age again, as I say,
the Sultan Pepper sexy.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
I'm not ready to go with salt and pepper because
once you go, you can't come back from that. So
I think I'm gonna wait now till sixty to let
the Sultan Pepper go.

Speaker 4 (16:21):
My husband is going to be sixty stock what eight years.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
He will be poor Mario Lopez.

why you are tired.
