Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Here we go, Maria, Courtney Lopez, back pond the mine
fired up to be hanging with you for the next
few hours. A lot of radio fun to get into
is we kick off twenty twenty six and a lot
of Hollywood buzz to catch up on. So I'm going
to dig into that to see what's trending.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Plus we'll share some fresh live acts in Corridos corner,
dig into our mentions to see what's on your mind,
and tell you about another must watch doc So.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Turn it up. You are on with Mario and Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 5 (00:28):
Y' al mara, Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Okay, we've taken a break from documentaries because we were going.

Speaker 5 (00:33):
Hard, back to back hard. There was a lot, there
was a lot, there was a lot.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
We needed to lighten it up, so we threw them
in The Landman this series, which was great, Yeah, this season,
and a little comedy Tulsa King.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
Tulsa King, Yes, is that a comedy? No, but he's
got he's got humorous moments.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Murdering people every other scene. But he wanted to light
there are some jokes, so there there are some jokes.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Basically all Taylor Sheridan shows he's killing it on that level. Anyway,
we did that, but now we're back on our dockbingch
and we kicked it off by watching the new one
on Netflix called Evil Influencer, the Jody Hildebrandt story. I
was not familiar with this, and wow it is.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
Do we give spoilers? I mean you gotta give spoilers.

Speaker 6 (01:18):
I think you can give a few. Like I saw
the opening thing and I was hooked.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Can I ask you something, did you know about this story?

Speaker 5 (01:26):
I did not either.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Because I knew a lot about this story previously, so
I did not learn a lot of new things. However,
they did show interviews and phone calls from jail on
that kind of stuff, a lot of footage that I
hadn't seen. But my takeaway is this woman is these

(01:49):
people are.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Without giving too much away, this woman essentially created a
cult but sort of used the Mormon Church as a
crutch and almost like a plucking ground and infrastructure to
kind of prey on these people who are going through
troubles or are at their weakest moments. But what she

(02:10):
got them to do to their own children is wild.
I think that's enough of Maybe the spoiler teasers. But
it's it's wild and she and her little friends deserve
everything that was coming to me. Good on the judge,
you're coming down hard.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
No, she ruined lives, families. I mean, this woman is
just evil, evil that.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Poor Mario Lopez coming up, Mario.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
Courney Lopez here, keep the music in fun coming your way.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
As Cordo breaks down a few of the new things
on TV and streaming.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Break it Down.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
HBO Max has a series premiere of The Cult Behind
the Killers, three part docuseries that explores the influence of
a rogue street preacher's alleged cult like teachings on Andrea Yates,
who drowned her five children in two thousand and one.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
Okay, we're seeing this one hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
And I did not know that Andrew Yates was affiliated
with a with a cult.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
I didn't know that part. I thought she was just
I thought she kind of lost it, he lost her mind?
Was crazy? I mean apparently she did. Oh my god,
that's a good one.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Yeah, we got to watch this.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
ABC is kicking off season four of Will Trent and
season eight of The Rookie Not.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
A Rookie Season eight.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Sorry, yeah, Rooky, but shout out to our boy Eric
Winner on that show.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
Good for him, Hell run yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
I remember season one, he wasn't sure if he was nervous.
They weren't going to get renewed for two and now.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
A look, he's on eight.

Speaker 6 (03:29):
I remember when Mario got pulled over on that show
and he went, yep, it's me Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Fox as a series premiere of Best Medicine. It's a
brilliant surgeon who leaves Boston to become a small town
doctor where he's spent childhood summers. Despite his medical skills,
his rude manner alienates locals. You know, you can't have
a bad bedside manner.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
You just can't well.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
That as a surgeon. And it's it sounds like a comedy.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
You're asleep though when he's doing it.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
So and Discovery has a season fifteen premiere Moon Shiners.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Wow, fifteen seasons of making moonshine nice.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
It's elet birthdays just a few songs away.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
You're on Mario Courtney Lopez in the meantime, any obscure
holidays to celebrate.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Honey, your favorite National Technology Day.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
And you know it's just getting worse, Well not worse,
it's actually better.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
But just more of it. However, I feel it's getting.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
A little easier, like if you have chat GBT, you
can literally just talk into it, which I can handle.

Speaker 6 (04:28):
I mean, I think back to like twelve years ago
when you switched from a BlackBerry to an iPhone and
he didn't want We had to teach you how to
use the iPhone.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
We had to literally put him in a straight jacket, yes,
and to make his phone.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
I think, very little guy. So I stayed with.

Speaker 6 (04:41):
I think one of his friends actually bought him the phone.
Was like, you must switch.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
Yes, and then he did.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
And now I want to do it to some of
my friends and my sister who has androids. Now, my
sister recently sent me an article. I thought it was
fake news, but apparently it's true that androids far out
cell iPhones all over the world, believe it or not.
Al Mario Courtney Lopez quickly squeezing in today's CELEBT birthday

(05:07):
shoutouts as always, Fraser's gonna TELLU who's turning a year older.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
We're gonna try to guess the ages. Who do we
got from SNL?

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Kate McKinnon, Oh, she's funny like her. I think Kate's
coming in thirty six, thirty.

Speaker 6 (05:20):
Eight, forty two from the Theory of Everything, Eddie Redmain
looks like a fish.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Just his face, Eddie Redmain, Redmin does sound like.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
It sounds like a kind of fish too.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
He is.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Forty five.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
I was actually gonna guess that.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
I'll go forty six, forty four from The Walking Dead,
Norman Ritas like Daryl fifty nine.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
Why do I think this is why I think of
him as a singer.

Speaker 6 (05:53):
You think him of the guy that's saying east bounding down.

Speaker 5 (05:55):
No, east bound down.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
That was a Rita's singer.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
I don't know Jerry Lee Lewis, No, it was Jerry
Lee something, Jerry Nichols, Jerry something. Jerry He's saying he's
founding down.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Did you give it age?

Speaker 5 (06:10):
Yes? Yeah, fifty nine, sixty two, fifty seven.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Howie Long, I'm going to go out.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
And do a long shot.

Speaker 5 (06:20):
I know you're going to try to do. I think
he might have.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
It didn't happen. Oh, and he is a football great. Okay,
I'm going to do a long kick and say that
he's sixty first.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
Shout out to Howie Long. Maintaining a crew cut for
a good thirty years.

Speaker 7 (06:39):
Now, by the way, and consistent too, it's a consistent
crew cut. How he's got to be sixty four sixty six,
and finally, Rowan Atkinson mister bean Ah were recently discovered
in a description of one of the Mister Bean things
is he's apparently an alien, which I did not understand.

Speaker 5 (06:59):
I did not know before.

Speaker 6 (07:00):
What do you mean, mister being The character is an alien.
Although I was always on the oppression he was a human.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
He was just weird like pee wee. Yeah, but he's
an alien.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Rowan Atkinson also sounds like a disease. Is I have
Rowan Atkinson?

Speaker 5 (07:20):
You can take you can take Norman read us for that.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Side effects include sixty five, seventy.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Two, seventy one, eh more, Mario Lopez coming up, Mario.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Courtney Lopez here, keeping the music coming your ways, or
remind you that our twenty twenty six iHeartRadio Alter Ego

Speaker 2 (07:56):
We got two chances every weekday for you to win
your trip for two almar slash alter ego to find
out how to win in.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
Good luck Ah Mario Lopez, haz more music out of
your ways.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
We get ready for a New Year's live fag got
that for you shortly in Quarto's corner in the meantime,
would love to play a song for.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
You if you got a request.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Hit us up on igy aad on Mario Lopez A
time for a fresh life hacker too, What up Mario
Courtney Lopez? All right, honey, what are we talking about
today in Quarto's corner?

Speaker 4 (08:26):
If we have a new name for twenty twenty six?
Or is that just it?

Speaker 5 (08:29):
Like you know what?

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Unless the people say otherwise, because they've spoken and they
want it Quarto.

Speaker 6 (08:35):
I can't wait for that is I can't wait for
the next one when he goes no, the people have
said otherwise.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
This is called the just five minutes strategy. If you will,
it's a simple and effective New Year's life hack for
making your resolution stick. Basically, this approach leverages a psychological
principle that getting started is often the hardest part. But
you know Once you get there, you're happy, and then
keep the habit, forming a new habit and keeping it going.

(09:02):
So instead of committing to a daunting thirty minute workout,
thirty minute workout, I could do that in my sleep,
Bertie or an hour of studying. Commit to just five
minutes of the activity. So I told my trainer that
this morning, I was like, We're just going to do
five minutes.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
I'm only committing to five minutes.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
By telling yourself you only need to do it for
five minutes minutes, the task feels manageable and you're more
likely to begin. But once you start, moment of takes
over and the five minutes frequently turns into ten, twenty
or more as the activity becomes less intimidating once you're engaged.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
Now, this hack prioritizes consistency.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Five minutes every day is more effective and the long
run than aiming for an hour and giving up after
a week.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
You know, celebrating these small little.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
Estament and you end up you end up sort of
building to that. I get it, I get it. You
got to take a step or you can make strides.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
You know, when I go into the closet and I
have tons of laundry that needs to be put away.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
That's what I do. I go, you know what, I'm
going to start with five things.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
I do this with dishes, so I have something to
follow up regarding and habit. So let's talk about that
next more.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
It's everyone Moro and Courtney Lopez and Kordo was just
talking about her five minute strategy, which is basically an
approach to get you started on something to form.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
A new habit.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
And one of the things was just going to the
gym or working out for five minutes of activity, which
I was like, all right, little baby steps. However, I
just read this new study that claims just thinking about
the gym can help you get fit. And I'm serious
about this. It comes from real laboratory research. People were
asked to practice quote vivid mental muscle contractions while remaining still.

(10:48):
It was done fifteen minutes, five days a week.

Speaker 5 (10:51):
Guess what the results were. There were positive benefits, specifically minimal.
You don't gain muscle, but evidently you maintain. Isn't that crazy?

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Now?

Speaker 2 (11:01):
I wouldn't suggest this as an everyday thing, but if
you do miss or if you're traveling, I think there
is a little truth to that. If you're doing something
like jiu jitsu or even boxing or some sort of
martial art when you're hurt or you're you're just tired
and you can't train the day, just sitting there and
kind of watching does help, kind of help stimulate your mentally,

(11:22):
and your body will process it next time you do
go back in there.

Speaker 5 (11:25):
So there's a little truth to this. I was just
thinking for five seconds, Abs, what.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
You haven't even noticed the whole time you're doing it.
In this segment, I'm doing up.

Speaker 5 (11:33):
See you're working more.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Mario Lopez on the way you amorol Courtney Lopez keep
the music coming your way.

Speaker 5 (11:40):
And we asked the big question, when to take down
the holiday?

Speaker 4 (11:43):
De cour done.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Many of us want to take it all down right
at New Year's But if yours are still up, it's
all right. You're still on time. Yesterday was the twelfth
day of Christmas, the traditional wrap up of the season.

Speaker 5 (11:55):
Oh okay, I didn't know the twelfth was the traditional
wrap up. Nice to know.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Yeah, you didn't get all the birds I sent you,
evidently not. Technically, you can let the lights glowe one
last night. Some people say, decorations keep January from being
so dreary, so they wait weeks to put everything away.
But if you got a real tree, be careful as
it dries up because that will become a fire hazard.

Speaker 5 (12:13):
I might pull Brittany this year and just keep it
up all year.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yeah, so we put ours up really early, right after Halloween.
I feel like this Christmas season really flew by, but
you essentially have it all down already.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Honey.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
I had it down New Year's Day and the day after.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
It took me two days. Did not mess around well.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
And you know, my mom always likes to keep it
up until the fifth or sixth because in Italian we
have the la bafana. And but it's just impossible because
once you get to that point, you're back to work,
you're back to school.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
You're back to the grind.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
So I just advantage of the time off.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
I have to take advantage of the time off, otherwise
it just won't get done.

Speaker 5 (13:06):
So are you celebrating or taking part in damp January?

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Mario Courtney Lopez Here, if dry January feels like a
bit much, there's another lane, damp January, which keeps it realistic,
just cutting.

Speaker 5 (13:18):
Back instead of cutting it out.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
I like this move fewer drink spots, still enjoying that
cozy night in without overdoing it.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Or you could also switch to a non alcoholic choice.
They have a lot that tastes very, very delicious. Slip
on a glass of wine with dinner, then call it quits.
People notice brighter moods, deeper sleep, and steady energy throughout
the day.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
In the end.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
You know what it's like anything else, It's all about balance.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
It really is nice.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
You're all Maril Courtney Lopez digging into the buzz because
Harry and Meghan might be headed to the big screen.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
God Mario Lopez Hollywood butt.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
So Megan Marko and Prince Harry rumored to be in
discussions about our feature length biopic that would detail the
relationship and.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
Fall out with the British royal family.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
The proposed film would provide an unfiltered look at their
love story from their first meeting to their decision to
step away from royal life. Did they? Uh? I?

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Did they?

Speaker 5 (14:12):
Because if you keep your titles, what's going on?

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Megan believes that much of what they've endured has been
misunderstood and hopes the biopic will offer a new perspective.
The film would not shy away from allegations of racism
within the royal family and negative press about Megan. Despite
potential backlash, Megan has said to be unconcerned and eager
to share their side of the.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
I don't really know where where it went wrong, Like
I can't really pinpoint a time.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Well, there was always controversy, but I'll tell you what.
It really took a turn when they made an effort
to say, we just want to be private, private, and
then they left alone. We just want to have our
own little family and do our thing, and then they put.

Speaker 5 (14:51):
Themselves out there everywhere. We saw it a Netflix, Netflix books.
They're sitting down with old brother.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
They're doing so you come across hypocritical, and people don't
like hypocrites.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
On that note, also you give up the royal thing.
But then you're like, it's duchess of suck. Says sir.
There's that. I think those are the two big things.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
But on that note, I got some other news to
share about Meghan.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
In a second, Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
No, Mario, Courtney Lopez and we were just talking about
Megan Markle and Prince Harry rumored to be in discussions
about doing a movie about their life and love story
and clearing up misconceptions.

Speaker 5 (15:24):
No one asked for it, by the way, correct and honey.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
You were asking where did it go wrong with? Why
did people sort of turn on them? Well, we were
discussing that the wanting to get left alone part, coupled
with the sit down with Oprah, the book, the Netflix show,
doing the Martha Stewart root.

Speaker 5 (15:42):
All that comes across hypocritical.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
And then you say you give up the royal life,
but yet you want to keep the titles. Again, you
look hypocritical because you want the benefits without doing the work.
Maybe that's why Megan was recently voted the number one
most hateable person in America over Diddy.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
Yeah, all right, are you shocked by that?

Speaker 3 (16:05):
I mean, there are two completely different reasons to discliss
correct the you know each person, but I feel for her.
It's just the there's a there's a fakeness, there's not
a there's not auth authenticity, there's not a realness.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
There's just something that's.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
Just everything off. It feels manufacted, it's just sick.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
So that's just different. She just is someone that you
feel like you can't.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Trust Yomaro Courtney Lopez quickly saying congrats again to all
our five thousand dollars winners and iHeart radios fake a
teacher powered by donors Jews.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
By the way, there's still time for you.

Speaker 2 (16:46):

can give them a shot to be one of our
next winners, hooking them up with five thousand dollars to
make over their classroom.

Speaker 3 (16:53):

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Omrio on Facebook and x hat ol. Mario Lopez on
ig Cordo has been digging through our mensons.

Speaker 5 (17:08):
Would you find honey? I found?

Speaker 3 (17:13):
This is from att Pinned Down, pinned On. She's pinned on,
She's been pinned down, pined on. Congrats to your boys
on their wrestling domination. It looks like they get something
from dad after all.

Speaker 5 (17:27):
Well they look like him too. Well here's the thing.
We went to the first wrestling tournament.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Of the year.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
Oh yeah, where our boys.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
I'm just so proud of one of my proudest moments,
one of my just happiest moments as a person, forget,
just as a father is to see your boys shine
like that, which, by the way, I was not expecting.
Full disclosure, Sonny, my youngest is a menace.

Speaker 5 (17:51):
And I know, I know he's strong.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
He's a strong little guy, and he's got a high
motor and he doesn't get intimidated and he's relentless. But
my boy's got no techniqe. And I just thought, because
some of these kids have a lot of technique, they
were gonna they were going.

Speaker 5 (18:04):
To smash him.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
He did great, and he won all his matches, and
he pinned all his matches against really good kids.

Speaker 5 (18:11):
I couldn't believe it.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
I couldn't believe in dominic again too, he was one
pound over the one weight class, so they put him
up another when he's wrestling kids nine pounds heavier, and
he dang great and pinned all his kids. I mean,
I couldn't have been prouder with such a great moe, right, Honey,
I was on a highl day.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
No, we just went in there with no expectations and no,
we were just in shock.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
And like I told the boys, I said, look, I'm
so proud of you that's awesome. But it's not about winning,
because you're not always going to win.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
But that's okay. I just want you to go out there.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
And be prepared and do your best, do your best,
trawl and kick butty. As long as I see the effort,
I'm gonna be proud of you.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
More Mario Lopez. Coming up New.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
Year's off to a rough start for Pink.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
On Wednesday night, she shared a selfie on Instagram showing
herself resting in a hospital bed. She revealed that she
underwent a procedure and received two new shiny discs in
her neck.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
Oh poor thing.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
I think.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Appeared to be in high spirits, though joking that rock
and roll is a contact sport. Elsewhere in her post,
a singer focused on the positive things that twenty twenty
five brought her, including spending more time with her family
and her children.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
All you can ask for, that is all you can
ask her. I wonder if that means she's going to
chill out on her search disolay stuff during formats.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
Right she's yes, she's very.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
I can't imagine that could be good on the war
they're rebuilding her for more of it, or maybe she
might be a robot a Mario Courtney Lopez. Still so
much to get into, Gonna talk Golden Globes in a bid.
Also going to take a look at what's trending.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
In the meantime, more music.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
In fact, you got a request to drop into our
mentions over on Facebook at On with Mario.

Speaker 5 (19:46):
Y'all, Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
Word season officially underway, Critics' Choice Awards went down this
past weekend, and the Golden Globes coming up this Sunday.
Speaking of the Globes, former Globes host comic Ricky Gervais
shared a joke he had planned for The Lobes the
last time he hosted, but ultimately decided not to use it.
He tells the full story in his new Netflix special.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
