(00:44):

The Hell's going on here? How you guys doing? Hi?
Good morning? Are we excited about what we saw Week
one college football? I? I know, I am big time.
Jonas loved it. I mean the Penn Staters won. I
was there to witness that. It was an experienced LaVar
really was. I mean watching that pick six and the

(01:50):
the the young man throw up immediately after was something.
And then seeing Sean Clifford do what he does, baby
six year quarterback drive his team down the field for
the game winning tuddy was awesome. Yeah, it really was.
I enjoyed it and mice three times I recorded it?
Did you absolutely? I was breaking him down. Yeah, yeah,

(02:12):
I was breaking the terrible targeting unbelievable. Hey, but you
know what we were talking about. It though, if there
was a way to introduce yourself to college football one play,
one game and he got thrown out, that's a legendary debut.
That's the way. It's definitely going to be memorable. That's
the way he is. Like, man, first play, I was like, yeah, man,

(02:33):
you talked to him after. But he's gonna be a
good one. I mean, based on his bill then, goodness,
he's like a Micah. He's another iteration of Micah. I mean,
I'm not saying he is mica Um, but he has
that same look. He has that same type of mentality.
I mean, he's from Philly, so he's you know, he's

(02:53):
from that side of the state. But I mean, they
look pretty good. They looked pretty good. I was I
was happy to see that they were able to go
to a hostile environment because I'll tell you what, after
seeing Drew Brees come on stage, would you guys, and
seeing you hug him up and knowing that he was
sitting there like a good LeVar to kiss my ass, yea,
all that good stuff, I didn't say that although I

(03:16):
looked in his eyes, he might have been thinking. He
was thinking, yeah, you're bigger than him though, so he
might have not have wanted that smoke. But you know,
because I love what he talked about his n I
l that literally verbatim, what what we actually built? Yeah,
they may or may not have used all our filings,
but that's fine, no big deal. Did I feel like
that was the moment to say, wow, that sounds familiar. Yeah,

(03:38):
but yeah, it was good. It was good? Wait really?
Oh yeah, so just uh well look, I mean that's
you know, invitation is the greatest form of flattery. So
I think that just shows here on the right path.
You know that Drew Brees is gonna take your idea
like that. It's great about I mean, it's wonderful for
everybody about it. It's good. That's yeautiful man, listen big.

(04:00):
And I mean my favorite was when you know, just
kind of asking him what do you think about this, uh,
this team and the game plan and he was just
talking about the intensity, you know, just the mindset, which
is uh, it was a blackout game, right, was it?
It was? Yeah, it was. I was surprised that there
wasn't any like racial flak or uh, you know, backlash,

(04:21):
blowback because it was called the blackout. I was like, man,
you know you got you got guys in white uniforms
coming to play against a blackout. Yeah yeah. I was
just kind of cure. I was like, man, I'm glad
this didn't go down a bad direction, you know, but
is there to save us? So I was reminded by

(04:42):
Penn States all white uniforms, is like, man, these are
the cleanest un in all of college ship. They're very clean.
Nothing nothing like Penn State's uniforms. Well, well, let's speaking
of uniforms and those being you know, the fine uniforms
that you know. Note Dame is a defined I thought
they were gonna pull it out. Yeah what the gamer?

(05:04):
For two seconds, I thought they were gonna pull it
that game out, easy, easy, Jonas. I want to clare.
I just wanted I just wanted to clarify what that
I keep going hold on, I mean, you can't go
on if you do. But I'm happy Father's Day. But
here's that is. Look, I I came away from Notre

(05:27):
Dame Ohio State thinking, hey, Notre Dame, that's one of
those They lost the game second half not ideal from
an offensive standpoint, But when you go on the road
in Columbus game one, brand new head coach, that sort
of environment game, yeah, and you and you're in it,
and you're you're winning that game and leading that game

(05:49):
for for large stretches of the game. What it's worth,
you did a hell of a job. Yeah. I can't
wait going. I'm not I'm not down on Notre Dame
like I came. You know, the BS about Ohio State
is that's generally how they win games. Though they generally
win games like when they're in real games, they generally
win them games late. You know, I don't know, it's
it's it was interesting. It gave me, you know, it

(06:12):
gave me confidence that Notre Dame is going to be
pretty good this year. Though I'll tell you that I
mean to come out against that type of team, that
type of firepower and that set up in scenario. Man,
I was you know, I was impressed. I thought the
first half went about as good as it could have
given some injuries and and some and some things. But
that was more of the game plan. I think they

(06:33):
were hoping to play, especially for Buckner. I mean, but
Bucker was solid for a guy on his first start
on the road in that position, you couldn't have asked
for much more. You know, he ran well, I thought,
with his legs when he had to, or scramble when
he had to. He made some clutch throws. Guys helped
him out to you know, guys were making some place
for him too. But he did about as much as

(06:53):
you could have asked for in the first half and
really the whole game. It was. It wasn't like, you know,
he made any sort of you know bone you know,
bone crushing or back breaking, you know play that hurt them.
I thought, first first start against that team and all
that it was. It really, he really did play well,
and I think he gives a lot of people optimism
for the rest of the season. Well, I didn't think

(07:14):
was gonna be an issue was Jared Patterson being out
of left guard. And it was for two reasons. One, obviously,
you have a younger player, less experienced player at left guard.
But then you're not giving your center as much help,
right because now you've got a guy used to play centers,
a ton of experience making the calls doing all of that.
And and LaVar you know this a lot of people,

(07:34):
you know, don't realize this when you get in a
really really loud environment, because you're in a silent count,
you're gonna have the guard actually keep his head up
to look is at what's going on and then tap
the center to snap or go through their silent account
snap because that it's it's easier to do it, and
then and then they can get make sure they get
all their calls. They don't get duped when the center

(07:56):
puts his head down to snap the football. So not
having an there I think hurt for those two reasons too,
because hurt the center, hurt the left guard, and hurt
the inside running game and protection all that. So that
was one of those things that like I was kind
of watching thinking, all right, they'll be fine once he
gets back, But that's gonna be a problem, I mean,
for for right now at least moving forward until they
get that fixed. But you know, I look, I didn't

(08:18):
like the all out blitz call that led to the
first the touchdown that allowed Ohio State to go go
ahead four teen ten. I know Coach Freeman talked about
it not being executed well, but even then, like you
had done that all game long playing coverage being able
to shut down the Ohio State passing attack, and then
in that moment, because you haven't been getting pressure, you

(08:41):
felt the need to get pressured. Like, I don't know
that that wasn't That wasn't one of my favorite calls.
But um, I mean look at the end of the day,
and really, by the way, when you go back to
looking at book touchdown passes, um, there there were both blitzes.
Like they both brought pressure on those plays because they
weren't getting pressure and even though that didn't hurt them

(09:03):
the earlier in the game, they felt like they needed
to I saw a little different. But look, I think
there's a lot to build off of, but there's definitely
some things that you know, they've got to improve on
and work on moving forward. Well, I'll tell you what
they didn't need to work on is Marcus Freeman because
if Brian Kelly would have been calling the game, it's

(09:25):
probably been a worst situation. I mean, him and his
family ain't doesn't winning yet, but they don't win. But
they just went and winning on Saturday. That that was
that was one of the worst performances. Yeah, yeah, I mean,
at least for the first what three quarters until the
very end when they put some stuff together. That was

(09:47):
my takeaway was, Wow, you know, Marcus Freeman's got a
bright future and and if he doesn't at Notre Dame
then you know, I don't know, but it looked like
he's got a bright future. A hit of him. Then
I looked at Brian Kelly and I was like, let
me check out be Kelly and see if he's still
letn't win and and the family is good, and I

(10:07):
was like, whoa, whoa, Brian Kelly. He got them back.
They were had an opportunity there, you know, against like
you do know how the mighty half falling Like Florida State.
I know that they're trying to figure it out, but
they ain't there yet. It's kind of weird that both
those programs and neither one of them is ranked. It's

(10:28):
kind of weird, like growing up on Florida State and
it's just the nineties for Florida State. I mean, hey,
I'll put it this way. I think Florida State might
be when it's all said and done. They've got a
good little squad man that that d n they brought
in from Albany, number five. He was girls I think
is his name. He was legit. They had a big
old d tack on their clogging stuff. I mean they

(10:50):
got some players. Now, did did you get any text
messages or anybody from back home busting your balls during
the Notre Dame game. We're guys that were people reaching
out to you giving you a hard time. Do you
have a lot of die hard Ohio State fans that
you grew up with? I mean, like you, you don't
have any, Like none of you around grew up in
Ohio State fan right next door to Ohio State. Double

(11:11):
because all the people I'm close to came to Notre Dame.
They realized like oh yeah, yeah, that's good. All right, nice,
that's how it is. Well there, you gotta gotta let
him know. Except that, sir, and and by the way,
this is two thousand twenty two of those either like
oh Notre Dames on one, no, kiss my ass there?
Want to know a t s All right, this is

(11:32):
against the spread. All right. It is a new day
and new which which I think cock. Some people who
were at the game who are Notre Dame fans was like, hey,
so what was the act for the crowd? They were like, yeah,
Ohio State fans really didn't have much to say like
that they were they were very much. I think a
lot of them kind of came into it thinking, Hey,
this is gonna be a butt kicking, and when they
were down at half time, it was like people were like, Okay,

(11:53):
what's supposed to be a little more respectful about this.
Let's make sure we're reminding our p's and ques. I mean, look,
the net are a fan base in general's typically pretty classy,
not the type that's gonna be overly rambunctious. Like I
always felt like, you know, when people would come the
Notre Dame Stadium, they always left people are It's almost
like Nebraska, you know, people thanks you, thank you for

(12:14):
coming and all this stuff. It's like the same thing
and Notre Dame they're like, oh, thanks for coming out.
For sure, you're coming to come player football team, like
very nice, classy group. Um. I think Ohio State even
emulated some of that after what they saw, at least
in the first half. At least that was the word
I was getting. Uh. It is two pros and a
cup of Joe Here on Fox Sports Radio, Labar Arrington,

(12:34):
Brady Coin, Jonas Knox with the Here on fs ARE,
you can hang out with us as always on the
I Heart Radio app. We are gonna have the usuals
coming up later on another edition of In case you
missed it, We've got the fs R I R and
we've also got the return of the b Q News.
Have been way too long since we had the b
Q News, so we're gonna have that coming up an
hour three to close out the program. Coming up next though,
here from the Two Pros and a Cup of Joe

(12:54):
live from the tire Rack dot Com Studios, We've got
ourselves a decision in the NFL that has come down,
but the question is how long until another major one
happens within the same organization. We'll get into that for
you right here on fs ARE. Be sure to catch
live editions of Two Pros and a Cup of Joe

(13:15):
with Brady Quinn, LaVar Arrington and Jonas Knox week days
at six am Eastern three am Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio and the I Heart Radio Two Pros and a
Cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,
Jonas Knocks with you here on fs ARE. Coming up
in a little over ten minutes from now, we had
a teammaker decision and a move over the last twenty

(13:37):
four hours that have been in the works for a
little bit of time, but it could have a major
impact with the season right around the corner with kickoff
coming up in just a few days from now. So
we'll get into that for you here. But there was
a decision made in the NFL yesterday. Now, there was
no real official announcement. It's not like the head coach
came out and called the media together and said, yeah,

(13:58):
I mean, it's just, you know, just coincidentally enough, Mitch
Trabinsky was named team captain for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and
then all of a sudden, the depth chart comes out
and there he is, old Mitch sitting number one on
the depth chart, with Mason Rudolph too and Kenny Pickett
number three. So so the Steelers apparently made their decision.
Mitch Robinsky is gonna be the starting quarterback there in Pittsburgh,

(14:20):
at least for the initial portion of the season. How
bad it second chance for Mitch. Happy for him, Ohio guy.
By the way, history, Ohio, we thought we thought this
would be the case, the right to start the season.
It's just definitely kind of how how long of unleash
I guess does he have? And I don't know. I mean,

(14:41):
I think it's odd that the fact that they just
put out the depth chart, there's nothing official about it.
It's I guess, kind of Mike Tomlin esque. Um, but
it's I'm more curious to see what happens at Trebinsky
doesn't play well and then and then if this depth
chart is a week to week thing, like someone at
pointed out as I was like reading through, you know,

(15:02):
the comments of oh, you know, maybe you know, maybe
Mason Rudolph's better than Kenny Pickett's. Like, well, I'm not
gonna go that far, but it may be a scenario
where Mike Tomlins says his coaching staff and they all
talk and say, we feel more confident in Mason going
in week one to win a football game if if
he has to for Strabiski, then we do Kenny Pickett
right now. Okay, that's fine then, but does that change

(15:25):
me in week three, week four? You know, does this
Kenny Pickett do something because he's not gonna get more
experience all of a sudden in the NFL order. They
just feel like maybe Mason Rudolph's a better backup in
that spot. You know, I've been in scenarios where, hey,
if he goes down, you know we're gonna have Mason
Rudolph come in. But for the following week, we'd rather
start Kenny Pickett, you know, give him a full week

(15:46):
to prepare to be the guy. So there's all those
sorts of scenarios that could play themselves out. I'll be
curious to see how things go. I mean, if if
things don't go well offensively, I do wonder if they're
gonna if they're gonna have a short leash on Mitchell Robinsky,
who Yeah, I mean, I think I think this was

(16:07):
their plan all along, was to try to get through
this season with Robinsky. That's That's what I've I've kind
of felt, um just kind of the conversations that I've
had with with guys that covered the team. Obviously have
had extensive conversations with Charlie Batch and not solicited. Just
by the way, can you do with Charlie Batch impression?

(16:27):
I feel like he's a very unique cadence and voice,
you know what I'm talking about. He's got a Pittsburgh accent,
He's got a very very heavy Pittsburgh. I can't do it.
I can't do it. It's He's He's it's one of
the like because I listened to the radio calls too.
I've seen when they're doing their preseason games, because he
calls those, and I'm always like, that's Charlie. Like he
just has a very distinct I don't mean it Pittsburgh. No,

(16:48):
it's Pittsburgh. It's it's all right. Um. But like I said,
we were in the barbershop together. It wasn't like I
was calling like, hey, I need to know about Mitch
Drobinsky and everybody dottat that. But he told me Um.
And just you know, I had a conversation with a
former coach that was there that still has ties as well,
and that was solicited. And it just seems like they're
trying to get through this season with Mitchell Robinsky and

(17:12):
and and to be honest with you, they might be
trying to to do it for as long as they can,
to give the young guy the opportunity to develop, to
to understand what the game is about and what he's
stepping into. Um in terms of his responsibilities of being
the next probably franchise guy for the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's
just you know, it's it's true to form if you

(17:35):
really think about it. That's what Pittsburgh does is they
make guys wait. Sometimes at certain positions, they wait, you know,
linebacker position. Sometimes they wait at the quarterbacks position. They
haven't really had to do that very often, but but
at times, you know, I mean, you've seen it historically happened.
I won't go into the names because it's kind of dated,

(17:57):
but I think that this is one of those scenarios
that I would agree if they don't have success for
an extended amount of time with Jerbinski, they will go
to Mason Rudolph next. But but how long, I would say,
is Mason Rudolph's how long is his lease going to be?
If if it doesn't work out for Jerbinsky and they

(18:19):
indeed go to Mason Rudolph as as next you know,
next option to trying to to have a season. How
many teams nowadays dress three quarterbacks for a game? Not often?
So what are they saying that Kenny Pickett's not going
to dress for this game? Probably aboard, So he's getting

(18:40):
Jared goffed, because that's what happened to Jared goff his
first game, he didn't even suit up. He was just
if you're third on the depth chart, you're not suiting
up unless you play. Unless you're like the kid in
uh in New Orleans like where you play multiple positions.
You know, Taysom Hill. Taysom Hill. Yeah, come well, I
mean those days are over, I think, I think. But

(19:00):
I'm just saying that would be the only way they
would dress a third third quarterback is if he played
other positions. Huh, okay. I just that's a little surprising.
I thought that he would be you know that that
Kenny Pickett would be the option. I think a lot
of people thought if he played well enough, maybe Mason
Rudolph would be that could be you know, somebody would
find him and find some value and wanting to make
a trade like a late supposedly they were calling. I mean,

(19:24):
Steelers didn't want to get rid of them, or it
wasn't the right price, I guess. I mean, alright, So,
so Kenny Pickett's going to start the season on the bench.
Are so disappointed about this? Yeah, it's a little I'm
a little bombed. I'm a little surprised. Actually, I thought
that he'd at least suit up for the first game.
But well, we don't. We don't know that they're not
going to suit up three I mean sometimes, but it's

(19:45):
most likely not. Well, you know, I mean we should
have been paying attention though, because if we would have
listened to Ben Roethlisberger. I mean, you know, this is
a guy who puts what he called a shot I
mean before. I mean, he really doesn't want Kenny Pickett
to take away any any of the fame that he heard.
This here was the big Ben recently retired, now a

(20:05):
podcast era. This is Ben Roethlisberger. In my opinion, I
think Mitchell Robisky is the starter. He should start. I
think he's a veteran, he's been around for a while.
Um he gives you, in my opinion, the best chance
to win right now. But I think Kenny has done
a great job. I mean, you you watch him, you
wouldn't from what I've seen the preseason, you wouldn't be like,

(20:27):
oh man, he's a rookie. He's got like he's got
some learning curves. Now I said, I would say it's
about almost all rookie quarterbacks. It would be it benefits
you to behind a veteran for a little bit of time,
and I think I think Mitch is a is a
great leader, a great football player, he's a great athlete,
he's a good quarterback. He's the guy that they brought
him in here for a reason. And I think he's
gonna mentor and I think he'll really help Kenny a lot.

(20:47):
But in my opinion, it's, um, it should be Mitch's
job for you know, the time being. So that was
Ben Roethlisberger in the Football and podcast. There's a lot
of truth to what he was saying. His partner Spence.
I believe he's got a guy who does it with him,
just named Spence, you know, with their name. Kind of interesting. Um.
But here's the thing about and here's the truth about it.

(21:10):
Like he's right in regards to most quarterbacks would say, look, man,
if you've got a veteran in there, a veteran's gonna
handle the operations. He's seen more stuff. He's not gonna
get thrown off by some of the different looks that
the defense is gonna give you. At least he's more
likely not to. But here's the thing about Mitchell Trobiski.

(21:30):
He knows his future is not in Pittsburgh. And so
I'm sure he's a good guy. He's gonna share things
with Kenny, but that's not his focus. He's he's not
mentoring him. Like remember the Ryan Tannehill comment about like
I'm not here to mentor Malik Willis. I mean, that's
even more of a scenario where you look at it
and go, well, yeah, he's not because that dude was

(21:51):
brought in to take his job. Like that's the reality
of it. Like like Ryan Tannehill was drafted or excuse me,
was signed and side to contract in Tennessee that you
would think he'd be their long term deal. But you
don't draft the guy in behind him unless you think
that maybe you need to replace them. In this case,
Trabinsky signed a short term deal, was a two year deal,

(22:12):
I think, and he easily could be moved on from
after this year, whether from good play or bad play.
And so Mitchell Trabinsky, he's not sitting there thinking like
I need to mentor this kid. He's sitting there thinking,
I have the ball out this year, this is my
this is my last shot. Like you very rarely get
two shots in the NFL to be a starting quarterback.

(22:35):
You usually get one. If the first time doesn't go well,
you hope you get a second, but it's it's really
not guaranteed you this is his second shot, and if
this doesn't go well, he's gonna be hoping to survive
as a backup, and so his priority is not set in. Oh,
I need to make sure Kenny Picketts ready when he
goes in. That's the that's the like the least of

(22:56):
his concerns right now. So that that's where I disagree
a little bit with the whole mentor thing, because we're
in game mode now. Man, like LaVar, you're not worried
about making sure some guy who's trying to replace you
is is ready to get on the field when it
gets on the field, are you. I'm certainly not. I mean,
but let's let's be real about this. Yeah, I'm certainly not.

(23:17):
I'm ready to go like bye bye bye. Season's time,
you know. And I appreciated the old heads that taught me,
you know, certain things, you know, in terms of how
how to study film. I got better at study in
film once I you know, it was around guys like
Bruce Smith and Marco Coleman and Mark Carrier, like they

(23:37):
really taught me how to approach the game differently. Um,
even within the game, you know how to look at
which back then was black and white, you know, photos
of of what was taking place, um during during the plays.
But but when you're in the heat of like the game,

(23:58):
I'm not I'm not sitting there making these teachable moments.
If I'm during the week, I'm not making these teachable
moments for someone else. Like if you ask me what
I was thinking during the course of a play or
how I approached it, I mean, I will certainly answer you.
But if you keep doing it, like if you were
to keep asking me, well, what did you mean? I

(24:19):
even do that now as a coach, Like if you
keep asking me like, it's like, bro, there's a proper
time and a proper place for you to ask about
certain things you want to know about. You know, there's
certain things that as a as a veteran, you expect
them to be prepared on knowing the basic value of
what it is that their job description calls for, as

(24:41):
as you know, their playbook applies. So don't be asking
me all these god damned questions while we're out here
trying to get this this work in. You know, and
that's kind of I mean, I'll always be a mentor
two guys, and I always was when I played. But
but there's a certain level that or a certain you know,
amount mentorship that you will get and and you better

(25:03):
be okay with that. I mean, look, Ben Roethlisberger was right,
Mitch robisk he probably should be the starter, makes all
the sense in the world. Let's also be honest here.
Ben Roethlisberger wants no part of seeing Kenny Pickett be
a star in Pittsburgh right now. He wants no part
of it because because it's Ben Roethlisberg. He got pissed
they drafted Mason Rudolph in the third round and called

(25:23):
into a local show in Pittsburgh to complain about it
on the weekend and be passive aggressive about it. That
guy should be fined two quarterbacks. That would take away
from his legacy. Yeah, so so he he. I don't
think he wants any point because they look, Pittsburgh loves
Ben Roethlisberger. They didn't like him from the get go
like they like Kenny Picket. I mean, the reception he

(25:44):
got when he was drafted comparable. Come on, what do
you mean he's he's a pick guy. He's a Pittsburgh guy.
And again he won the a SEC in his final year,
like he had success. When you win him Pittsburg, people
love you, you know. So of course he's going to
have a lot more fanfare coming into it than what,

(26:06):
you know, what Ben Roethlisberger had. I mean Ben Roethlisberger
was somewhat obscure coming out of high coming out of college,
you know. I mean a lot of people knew who
he was, but a lot of people didn't know who
he was. And and so I mean, yeah, I don't
think that is I wouldn't compare to two. What do
you mean he's out of my Miami of Ohio, like

(26:27):
people weren't checking for him like that. A beautiful campus
by the way, Oxford, Ohio. Beautiful campus, like really really
beautiful scenery there just everywhere you're looking. I would love
to go check out the Tulips great school. Now what

(26:48):
it's a little downtown area. I think it's uptown. I
think as you know what they call it, Like a beautiful,
beautiful campus. They would make water everything, like with all
the plants and all that, like make sure a lot
of a lot of foliage, um, a lot of hills,
so that that that produces tremendous produce. So so the
squirrels are friendly. You can feed them a lot of

(27:10):
a lot of Yeah, they'll they'll come right up and
they'll come right eat it out of your hand. A
lot of hills, nice terrain there. Um, I wouldn't say
it's uh there went to there's a lot of undulation. Um,
it's not that hilly. Um. But but every once in
a while you'll catch a catch a few hills. I mean,
I mean I like putting my flag and hills, not

(27:32):
on flats, you know, Yeah, that makes sense. I mean
you can't put a flag in like the artificial stuff.
Wasn't that Normandy where they put the flag in the hill?
Was that Normandy? Um? That wasn't Normandy. That was a beach?
Who Yeah, Well, I mean, I don't know what what's
the what's the famous place where they stuck the flag

(27:53):
and the hill? I don't know. I was Columbus. It
was Baker Mayfield at the Horseshoe. It's a good one.
Stock that was a good man, That's what I was.
That was a good one. He tried, You're right, I
believe was that in Ichima? There was it there? I'm
pretty sure. Okay, nice, you're probably right Nagasaki. Wasn't that

(28:15):
the other one? Get to know you what? Thank? Okay,
I don't know why you guys all pick on me.
I'm like the oldest guy here. You guys second, I
didn't pick on anybody. Berto is shouting stuff in our
ears that would get us throw it off the air. Okay.

(28:37):
So like I'm just trying to keep it together here.
You know what, while while we're being harassed, I think
by something. I think that's nice. You tried to make
it about you and I. But you know, you guys
pick on that's that's not true. We don't pick on it.
I would never pick on you. Back to Oxford, Ohio, though,
I think that we should do a show from the terrain. Agreed, yes, yeah,

(28:59):
make me run and then we'll discover the next Memoriethlisberger
and then that will be the whole new debate. It
was down there playing quarterback for him right now. Blame
Gabbett's brother. Really yeah, yeah, he's good. I mean they
took one on the chin to UK this past week,
but they he's one of more prolific passers and mac
mac history wo how about that. I'm gonna blame good

(29:22):
for him. Man, We've got some connections down there. Chuck
Burton's down there. It used to be a Notre dame.
So and uh didn't Who else was was Miami of Ohio? Guy?
Was Sean McVeigh Miami of Ohio? Did he was? Was he?
I want to say? Where was he in Ohio? Sean?
He was a wide receiver? My Invohemoa. Okay, you know
who else went to the Miami. You are a classy guy, folks,

(29:48):

We'll get into that for you here on Fox Sports

Radio before we get into another edition of incase you

(31:40):
the world of sports or entertainment. Good thing, the guys
are here to bring you. In case you missed it,
and for that we turn it over to our executive
producer Lee Do Do Do lap lap Us. In case
you missed. The big news in Miami is Tyreek Hill
announced that he is going to pauses. It needed to
be said, Paul cast for the rest of the season

(32:01):
until February so that he could focus on football. That's
a bummer for him. It's probably a good thing actually
in his career. Yeah, but you know, he seemed like
he was pretty honest, and that's a shame because now
that honesty goes away and we just have to spec
you're not being honest right now, what do you mean?
It makes it easy for us because when he would

(32:23):
make a comment and be critical of somebody, it was like, oh,
that's what we got to work with. Now we just
have to fill in the blanks ourselves, like you know,
old school sports looking for a new Draymond for for
football and that just you know, it kind of adds
a little something, you know, different perspective, you know, But
I mean, we gotta covered here. We'll be fine. There's
enough content out there. I think he's gonna be okay, Okay,

(32:45):
I mean how much is the what do you think
he makes doing that podcast? Probably makes a decent amount, right,
sponsors go and all that. Drew Rosenhouse was I think
his first guest, you know, keeping it in the house.
I think so okay. I mean, i'd hope the guy
who you're paying to represent you would come on your podcast.

(33:05):
I imagine that doesn't seem much does a LaVar. I mean,
I hope my agent would if I asked him to,
you know, you would hope. Yeah, well, hey, good good
for good for Tyreek Kale. That's good for him. But
did you see two of his named team captain? How
about it? About it? All it took was a new
head coach that believes in you, and now all of
a sudden, you're good enough to be team captain. Hey.

(33:27):
Mike McDaniel's comments on Bill Bella checking him, he was
like saying, I don't know if there's ever been as
far as coaching experience like two further apart, head coaches. Yeah,
and then anybody compared it to like I'm like wrestling
or something too, He's like, he's like, that's the only comper.
He probably kicked my ask on that too or something
like that. Yeah. I love Mike McDaniel. He's great. Yeah,

(33:48):
he's gonna be a lot of fun to watch. What guys,
In case you missed the Clemson Georgia Tech game, d
j u l quarterback for Clemson, looked a little bit slimmer,
saying he lost about thirty pounds this offseason. It did
look smaller, just not small. They said that at one
point he was too sixty five. He's a big boy though,
he's what six ft four six five he I mean,

(34:10):
he was sticky thick last year. But yeah, he's taken
a little weight off to sixty five. Jesus, he's a
big boy, I mean, and his family's big big. Yeah.
What is his dad used to like bodyguard for Retchie's correct, Yeah,
it was a body was security was Ready Bush's bodyguard? Really?

(34:31):
I think Yeah, I don't know about that, but I
know I think he helps serve security at he was
a school security person. Can we get confirmation on that?
Can you look up how he's ever going to find that?
Come on, you know the WiFi here, we're on it, man,
you know, I mean you know you don't think Lee's

(34:54):
got the ability to to pull that quick here. I'll
bet he can. I mean, we don't even have to
vamp that long because of how smoothly is when he's
looking stuff up. Great research. I mean, nobody's as fast
as Brady looking stuff up, and he's he's by far
and away the fastest on the show. Let's go live
to our I have an update on DJ's dad and
what he does for a living insider legal athlete. Yeah,

(35:15):
Big Dave is what he goes by, Big Dave, uh
three eight. Not seeing much of his resume though, Okay,
there you goes nicely. So that's all you needed to
see that, what like he didn't have it, but you
kind of gave the signal Like you did have to
give a signal. Well, I mean you looked at me

(35:35):
and the like soldeez sold you out alright. In case
you missed this, the Pepsi super Bowl halftime show which
we all remembered, uh, starring uh the likes of Snoop Dogg,
Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Mary j. Blige, Dr Dre produced by
Dr Dre actually won an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special

(35:59):
first time the halftime shows everyone that they're giving it
out to anybody. Uh wait, what first time they ever won?
Can you surprising to me? I'm sorry? What's the category
Outstanding Variety Special? What the hell does that mean? Well,
coming out of the ceiling Snoop Dogg. What were some

(36:19):
of the other potential winners? Like, what do you compare
that to? It? Like it was like Cocoa Melon and
Regius and uh Philbin or whoever his name is. I mean,
what are we talking about here? Let's say, what can
you compare to? The super Bowl halftime show? Was like awards?

(36:40):
Like the Academy Awards is also there, but like the category,
like those are the nominees, those are the other nominees. Yes,
the actual shows themselves. I mean, okay, the Academy Awards
that Tony seemed more similar than the halftime shows. I mean,
the super Bowl would be the show in comparison to
the right too. Now this doesn't make any sense. Now

(37:04):
do they all get an Emmy? Does everybody you have
participated in the show? They do, Yeah, they do well?
Like even the dancers, like the people in the field,
the featuring stupid. I was gonna say, you imagine no
one dudes was Chris walking real good? I mean, they're
just crushing it. They definitely deserve to get the award
made it memorable. I mean, like there, if you are

(37:26):
an extra in a movie, don't you get yeah, yeah,
you get some of that. Really you don't get a residual,
you don't. You know? This is that everyone just wants
to be cool and being in sports though that's what
they're doing there. They're trying to incorporate sports and everything
because it's it's the cool thing to do. When they
show highlights of this, Like whenever there's highlights shown later

(37:46):
on did these does anybody there get paid? Do they
get residuals for that? If it's shown again? Because I
show Yeah, Like, is this gonna drop back to you
watching the replay? If when the last years playoff games? Yesterday? No,
I don't know why, Brady like hit me up yesterday
and today can we please talk about the a f
C divisional game between the buildings something And I'm like,

(38:10):
I listen, man, we gotta focus on the games that
have just recently happened. We don't need to go all
the way back in the past. And so sounds like
sounds like something I'd say, even though Jonas, for whatever
reason hates college football, that is not that is an
absolute sounds sounds like the case I was inundated with
college football. And by the way, you owed us a
phone call on Friday because you were going to brag

(38:30):
about the flee flicker and you yeah, gosh, that's how
I didn't want to phone It might have been in
bigger play. I mean, had an opportunity were coming on. Yeah,
I thought he was said he was gonna be coming on,
typical Jonas. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
