(01:31):
should be. And guys, it's back. It is back the NFL.
It's back. Yes, yes, yeah, building up, go that damn time. Man.

(01:56):
Just think about all the crap we had to cover
over the past several just to get to this moment,
and now football's here. The NFL season is here. I'm
about it. One final question before we actually get to football.
Was this the most like jam pack crazy offseason NFL history? Yeah?

(02:17):
Off field quarterback especially, Yeah, I would say so. I
think about all this stuff. Just think about all the
stuff you had Tom Brady retire and unretired, which was
like that was this offseason? It felt like it was
two off seasons ago. You had Rogers decided to come back,
which that gets glossed over. Um, you had Deshaun Watson

(02:39):
moving on, who, as we've most recently found out, clearly
it would looked like he was going to the Atlanta Falcons.
That's at least that's what the Atlanta Falcons stopped. And
then now we find themselves suspended, which they finally got
a verdict on that. But in in Cleveland and you
have Matt Ryan who then moved to the Appolis Colts.
You have Carson Wentz who then moves to the Washington Commandos.

(03:03):
I mean John kas takes Russell Wilson goes to Denver.
You get, you get did the different head coaching hires
and all that carousel of what happened. I mean, it
has been the craziest offseason I think that I can recall,
at least in my lifetime in the NFL with all
Where where are you at on this? I mean it's
hard to disagree, you know. And you gotta add to

(03:25):
the Aaron Rodgers fact that he came back to Green Bay.
Not only did he come back, but he ended up
in green because he ended up back he was looking
at retirement to right, not only retirement or not coming back,
not being in Green Bay at all. So yeah, I
mean the amount of money. Obviously, it's set financial records

(03:45):
um for for off season spending. And I agree with
you also, Jonas that this was a very very quarterback
heavy UM off season, just very quarterback heavy. And you
know what, it was a great off season for receivers
to like the reset the market as well. There was
a lot of big contracts done UM and some interesting

(04:08):
like you guys, some just some interesting moves. So I mean,
I'll tell you that we Entertainment Von Miller and Buffalo.
We got Aaron Donald who came out of retirement to
sign back. We had Sean McVay after winning the Super
Bowl looking out potentially TV contracts. I mean, Clio mac
is now in Los Angeles, charges Chandler Jones is in
Las Vegas. Like, I mean, we had so much movement

(04:32):
and so many like star players finding homes elsewhere. Davanta
Adams with the Raiders, I mean it's just I sit
back in Arkansas. I mean, yeah, a little little Rocks
just accumulating their team, right, and think about this, you
had an owner hiding on a yacht just so he

(04:53):
didn't have to be like which got married? That was
like whatever. Which, By the way, they're going to interview
Bruce Allen soon, which is I think they already did Tuesday?
Did it? Did it already happen? I think it already
happened with the Oversight committee on Tuesday. I'm surprised. I mean,
I haven't heard anything about it, but that now, that

(05:15):
is a doozy of an interview. I'll tell you that
you think he knows where a couple of things by
and LaVar, You tell me. My impression of Bruce Allen
is that dude's put on a life vest. He is
not gonna go down with the ship. He is gonna
put on that life vest and look for a floating
cabinet somewhere like a Titanic. You got you gotta think about.

(05:37):
They kicked him overboard, That's what I'm saying. They didn't. Yeah,
they didn't even keep him on the plane, on on
the boat. It wasn't even going down. They kicked him off.
So I'm certain he probably doesn't have a you know, uh,
emotional tie to to protect the interest of the team
and Dan Snyder, are you saying that Bruce Allen wouldn't

(05:58):
be like your dad, chop are jumping in the lake
to go get the golf clubs out of the water
when a j hawk dropt the pond. You're butchering the story.
It wasn't my dad who jumped in. It was Oz,
who was a character in and of himself within this
entire story. All Right, the Oz name, the crazy one,
that is Oz Stephen Osbourne full name, but we all

(06:20):
call him Oz or Oh to the sea man. You
don't come on now, you don't don't mix up the story. Okay,
that's part of the legend of Oz. It just that
just goes underwater, No snorkele to get a pack of
parliaments out of the bottom of the sea. If you
guys could have seen our eyes, I swear, I mean
they looked bread and bloodshot from just that water, that

(06:42):
murky whatever the hell was in the water. Um. It
is weird though when you name because there's always movement
in the off season when it comes to free agency
and you get you get some trades. Pause for a second,
Can we talk about the TV movement? Yeah, that's part
of it, Like even even how it's presented it. We had,
we had a Fox crew moved to Monday night football.

(07:02):
We have Kirk kerk Street, who've seen on Saturdays now
moved to Thursday night football. Like there has been a
ton of movement, you know, Greg Olson, Kevin Burkhard, those
guys are taking over. And then the news of Tom Brady.
Yet I don't know what the hell is gonna happen now.
It's like, if you're traveling and worried this much about
Tom Brady in the football schedule, TV is not a
whole lot different um and so I'm not sure if

(07:25):
that deal ever comes to fruition. But it's also we're
talking these are not just you know, run of the mill.
Well they got to free agency, or they moved on
because their current team wanted to go in a different direction.
Like these are Hall of Fame type players that have
moved around, Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, Like these are Hall
of Fame players potentially at the quarterback position, Russell Wilson,

(07:46):
all these guys that are now just in different different
places now, just in one offseason, all of this went down,
And I don't know if this is going to be
par for the course or if this was just a
weird circumstances dictated why these guys are moving around the
way that they were. The market dictated it. And yet
here we are, and it's it's wild just to think
about all these big names and another spots. Now, it's crazy. Man.

(08:09):
The NFL, what a fun off season. I mean, it
gave us plenty to talk about. I mean, why couldn't
they give a sister in the pandemic? You know, during
the pandemic, we guys could have moved around like this.
It really would have helped our cause. But unfortunately, Yeah,
that's that's I mean that he don't want to have
any fun. Hard to go wrong with that one, you know,
that's if you're looking for the scapegoat. Uh Now with

(08:29):
that being said, can I can can I ask you
guys a a nerdy you played the game? We didn't
play the game? Question? As I always wondered about this,
did you guys ever feel ready week one? Like, did
you ever feel right at kickoff? I'm ready to go,
let's go? Or did you need to get cracked a
couple of times to go? Okay, here we are now,

(08:50):
I feel like I'm finally in the full swing of things.
How long did it take before you felt fully ready
week one of the NFL season? Game one? Um, until
I felt fully ready for a week Probably not so
you got out there. I mean that's how I felt.
I remember that whole I told you as the whole
Star Caps case with Kevin and Pat Williams for the

(09:11):
Minnesota Vikings. We thought they were going to be suspended
for the game. Lo and behold, we find out they
actually won their appeal. So next thing I know, I've
got this monster at the one technique or knows that
we got a ridiculous player and Kevin Williams at the
three technique and uh and that was Brett far Like
that entire opening game Minnesota Vikings deal. It was. It

(09:33):
was like Brett Farve, you know, coming back first game Minnesota.
Was that his first game Minnesota. And Adrian Peterson went
off that day, which actually stole all the stories. I
took a hit, I want to say, like the second
series where I literally my soul was removed from my body,
like I love them, Kevin Kevin Williams made like an

(09:54):
inside swim move on our right guard, and I was like,
by my third step on a five step drop, I
felt a presence and literally I just remember by getting
like four or five, I was all of a sudden
like flat, like horizontal the ground, and I had this
three pound man laying on top of me, and I
damn near fumbled by pinned the ball against my body

(10:15):
and I was just like, whoa, that was quick. Okay,
We're gonna have to have a little quicker internal clock
today like it was. I mean that was when I
was like, Okay, now now you're ready, Like you thought
you had a good game plan going into it. Now
with these guys playing, it kind of changes up the
whole demeter of how this game is gonna go. Five
times in that game, yeah, no, those guys were good.
I mean that's and that's I believe that Jared Allen

(10:37):
then they had all I mean, that was a good,
good defense. I remember Chad Green, what was like calling
out all our plays. He was like, man, you guys
are runing the same thing you all run in a preseason.
I was like, Chad, it's it's a new offense, but
you wanted to do Chad, Yeah, I'm looking over the
just some of the stats here. Look look at you
a two rushing attempts twenty one yards. It's running from

(10:57):
my life. That's a banging out ten yards clip. Every
time you got the football on the ground, you were
picking up. The most frustrating thing about that game was
we practiced this like spread no huddle offense, and we
didn't run it to the very last series. And if
you look at the very last series, I had Robert
Royal for touchdown. We moved the ro right down the field.
That was our best chance of doing it. But our

(11:17):
play caller at the time, I didn't want to do it.
He wanted to try to find a rhythm. He wasn't
sure how our old line would handle, you know, both
Whim's brothers being in the game, and and and that
was like, well, like can we do this going into
it any of these games at some point. So anyway,
it just feels like it comes up so fast the
season and when you're you know, not really playing that

(11:38):
much in the preseason. I've always wondered, right at kick off,
does anybody feel totally ready to go, like totally ready
to go fully? What does that mean? Though? Because I'm
never fully ready to play until I get my first play,
Like I'm fully prepared, I'm ready to go emotionally, I'm

(11:58):
ready to go. Mentally, Um, by the first game. You
gotta keep in mind we played in preseason back in
the day, so we would do a few few reps
on on game one. By game three, we were playing
all the way into the third quarter, and your body
was now acclimated to being able to make it through

(12:19):
through a game. So you didn't have to go through
like game one, jitters or anything like that. You were
already playing games. You were already in in the mix
of like, Okay, I'm I'm done with preseason. It's time
to play. You know, it's time to get into it.
But in terms of the game itself, like all right,
here we are, the game is up, the game is on.

(12:42):
Always this was a weird thing for me. I mean,
in in high school. Now I went both ways, so
it didn't kind of apply. But I was always nervous
as hell. Yeah so anyway, um yeah, I was always
nervous as uh, nervous about playing the game until I

(13:07):
played my first play batter up lefty and righty. All
right here we go. I thought it was a fair question,
like Quinn, it's the come on now, it's the listen,
it's in North Hills Hammer. You know, it took a

(13:30):
new meaning and this and this obviously in this I
was I heard the statement. I was just falling up
on it that it was like that what the media
should have done for Aaron Rodgers, immunized, immunized? You know, well,
I mean and I enjoyed it. You know, I really
enjoyed going both ways. I mean, there's probably very few

(13:50):
who enjoyed it as much as I did. We get
that in the back. I just want to make sure
we're all cleared in the back that we got that,
we got that captured, so we can use that out
of context at some point during this time. But hey, listen,
football's back, the editor is back, so we are fired
up about it, bets. But we're gonna make our some

(14:13):
season predictions. Can I throw this out there to you guys?
And this is why I am scared out of my
mind for betting this week. So of the sixteen games,
do you know we have ten home underdogs, I will
take all ten and never look back. Give me. So
that's the thing that's a strategy. And I know that's like, yes,
what you're supposed to do, because you're probably gonna hit

(14:36):
on more than most people think, but it's ridiculous, Like
I don't know that we've ever seen this many home
underdogs to start a season. Well, and it's also I
think the bet would be if you have a significant
underdog at home, like they may cover this week, hammer them,
hammer against them next week. That's that's where that's where
everything's gonna starts play out law of averages and bad

(14:57):
teams become bad teams. But yeah, listen, we got we're
gonna our super Bowl picks coming up later on. Alright,
we got we got over unders, we got Albert Brier
stopping by, we got the b Q News, I mean,
you name it. Everything is covered here on this three
hour extravaganza because the NFL is back. We are here,
all right, We've got we've got the Dublin Destroyer, the

(15:17):
North Hills Hammer. Everybody's fired up for a football season
kicking off later on tonight. How bad it? Huh? Bill
does Rams? Who knows? I mean? Yeah, you know those
those two way guys, I mean like that, you know
you got to appreciate them, Yeah, in a different way.
Who hasn't seen pulp fiction? Alright? Uh so is your

(15:42):
eighties nineties movie reference like you do it all the time. Alright,
not um so many guys, Thank you, Phillip. Alright, So,
coming up next here from the tire rack dot Com Studios,
we are going to hear from somebody who's really trying
to convince you, really trying to sell you that it's

(16:04):
just another game. Don't worry about anything, it's just another game.
We'll hear from him next here on fs are be
sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and a
Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LaVar Arrington and Jonas
Knocks week days at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart Radio Two

(16:25):
Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knocks with you here coming up later
on this hour a little over twenty minutes from now.
The most appropriate story, I would say, in another edition
of Vacation missed it, very very appropriate. We will get
into that for you here on fs are from the
tire rack dot Com Studios. So, one of the big
stories coming up this NFL Week one is the Baker

(16:48):
Mayfield uh situation in Carolina, taken on his former team,
the Cleveland Browns, and it's been kind of a kind
of an up and down. He's been trying to tell
everybody not a big deal. Yet reportedly said to uh,
Cynthia Freeland, I'm gonna f them up, and then says
he didn't say it. I don't know why she would
make that up out of thin air, and just sort
of the back and forth and all this, and then

(17:09):
he's made some T shirts with some subliminal messages that
he's talked about. One of them is off the leash
with a dog collar laying on the ground. Last I checked,
Sooners don't have dog callers. Browns do though, But again,
what the hell do I have? Cow collars? Yeah, that's true.
I mean, although a cow caller I think looks different
than a not even a cow car collar horse, a

(17:31):
horse collar a horse, a horse harn. If it would
have said off the chain, would you would you have
taken it a little different? Like would blackout would happen? Okay? Well,
I mean you know what, LaVar we get around of
a flaw. That's what I'm talking about. It's here, Hey,
kiss my ass. I'm not ready weak one. LaVar's here. Yeah, yeah,

(17:57):
if you want, if you want to on its unbiased
opinion that was I think my thought was, you know,
given the shirts that have coming out the whole last
year or whatever you could say like off the chain
to it, it would kind of be portraying a similar message,
which I don't know that like when you say at leash,
you immediately think all right, dog pound right, and the

(18:19):
wod you say off the chain, You're like, all right,
maybe it's it's just more of a height T shirt.
And Brady, did you ever think when you were traded
by the Browns, you know what I gotta do. I'm
gonna make some T shirts? Was subliminal messages aimed at
the Browns who traded me. No, I thought, like, man,
I need to get my career going back in the
right direction, you know. And I was. I was honestly
as sad as it was to leave Cleveland because I had,

(18:41):
you know, it's my childhood dream. I really was. It
was just it was tough being there with Mangini, and
I was excited about like being traded to a place
with Josh McDaniels, a who with a coach you wanted
you and be one of the greatest offensive minds. And
so I was super excited about just the opportunity to
get out there. It was a winning organization, Um, even

(19:03):
one that you know you'd kind of grown up like
ruining your your childhood dreams for the Cleveland Browns. Um,
you still had a lot of respect for him, So
it was it was such an interesting emotion, you know.
But but I understand it's different for Baker. I mean,
this is the only team that really, you know, came
after him. The reality is, like people can talk about,
you know, there wasn't really anyone else out there after him.

(19:25):
There wasn't. So Caroline is the one team to give
him that next best shot, and obviously they're going to
give it to him. And now it's it's on him
to see where this thing goes. So this was Baker
Mayfield yesterday talking about his Week one matchup against his
former team. I think it's a great storyline. Obviously there's
history involved, um, you know leading up to this week,
there's other games in the NFL that guys are playing

(19:46):
their former teams. It's just it's the excitement leading up
to Week one that um, I think is building that
anticipation up. But for me, it's the familiarity anytime you're
playing guys. You know, it makes it just more interesting,
more fun. Um, you get to smack talk a little
with your buddies that you've been with for a little bit,
and uh, you know how to to poke and praud
and get the best out of him. And it's I'm
looking forward to the opportunity. I'm grateful for the time

(20:08):
I've had in Cleveland. Um, Like I said, I started
my career there, fans there in football town. You know, obviously,
like I've mentioned multiple times, it ended abruptly and you know, unexpectedly,
But we're here now. Everything happens for a reason, and
I'm rolling with the punches and I'm, like I said,
I'm happy to be a panther. Like his time in
Cleveland was the definition of a roller coaster because when
he came in and won that game and all the

(20:30):
bud light fridges opened up around the country because they
finally won a game and Hugh Jackson was the quarterback.
And you would have thought, obviously it was a head coach.
You would have thought now at Grambling State just got
his doors kicked in this past week. But I digress.
I mean, you know what I mean. Did they cover
the spread? It, okay, I think they lost three well, yeah,

(20:52):
who knows, well, it's Grambling State. They might have covered
the spread. But so Baker Mayfield gets there, wins that game.
It's like and they finally found their quarterback. He's got moxie.
He played well, and then it was just sort of
Freddie Kitchens came in, that didn't go well. Stefanski came in,
went to the playoffs. Everybody felt confident about it. They're
talking long term contract extension. And then they get to

(21:14):
the next season. He's banged up. They don't play good football. Um,
you know, LaVar was there for the Lions Browns game.
He was not good in that game and didn't look healthy,
and it just now he's gone. It just literally roller
coaster high. LaVar, did you think going into that game,
or I guess even coming out of that game, after

(21:35):
you called it and all that, did you get the
sense that he wouldn't be there the next year. I
got the sense that he was frustrated. I got the
sense that Juice had checked out. I had got the
sense that Landry Juice, Juice Landy Okay, just making sure
doesn't check out, he check well, he checks in, checks

(21:56):
in because what I hear that does the opposite of
checking out. He does it on his Twitter feed, right
those videos, Yeah, he likes to check in. Do you
have you ever read the comments or mentions in those
I've got some buddies who will send me like the
best off. It's like a great recap of people just
like I mean, it's sad obviously because well I'm not

(22:19):
eve gonna go down that road, but let's just move on. Yeah, yeah,
move good move que wait wait to quarterback us out
of that one. I could have got a little sticky
checked down right there. Yeah, he definitely need to check
out of that one. Check please. Um, but you knew,
but you knew something was wrong there right behind the scene.

(22:42):
You can tell someone right even with Male's Garrett, just
the energy just seemed a little different. Man, it was
different and different, like and like like, I don't despair
might be too strong, but you could just tell that
they you know, It's like it wasn't a belief. There
wasn't a belief there. Um. Nick Chubb his former teammate,

(23:05):
he also spoke yesterday, And I'm trying that because I've
never I've heard much of Nick Chubbs. I don't know
tone wise how this lands with anybody, but he talked
about playing against Baker Mayfield coming up here on Sunday.
We understand it. Bakers as quarterback over there under fans
is not new to us at all, So I mean
we understand that. And I mean I never went to
a game and no, nothing was never not set, so

(23:26):
it's nothing new from Nast. Well, we all know Baker,
so I don't know what to expect. He always has
that underdog attitude, so I'm sure he'll be ready, Sure
he'll be hopped up and pumped. And yeah, I mean
it's just just still a football game for us. Just
I mean whatever, just that that's Baker, like just sort
of a eye roll, got the the virtual eye roll.

(23:48):
They're just kind of yeah, that's that's kind of that's Baker.
Antics is the word that comes to mind, like he
just there's like all these antics that and maybe you know,
when you heard the rumors of hey, Cleveland wants to
move on from Baker because they feel like he's immature,
maybe there's some players who felt that way too, you know,
I mean, especially some guys were just trying to get

(24:09):
in there, win games, do their job, and they felt
like there's just too much drama involved. That's what Nick
Shup sounds like. Yeah, like a guy who just wants
to do his job. How many did you do you
remember anybody over the past the off season, we've talked
about anybody on the Browns that came out and spoke
in defense of him, anybody, like anybody in the media.

(24:30):
That's an interesting thing, Like I posed that to you
like before the show, Like I don't recall anyone really
coming out in his defense nothing. I mean the only
person who kind of has is where Shard Higginson was
his teammate now in Carolina. You want to know, it's
even more damning. There were players that came out and
supported Deshaun Watson signed I'm coming back because of desan

(24:54):
um stretched me out, Watson, geez, I mean I was
going to you get me stretched out because the other
one would have been, you know, maybe inappropriate just take
out stretching at um rubbed stretching, stretched me out? Um.
Now where does that rank in comparison to Anthony Davis's

(25:15):
street clothes nickname? Um? That one? You know, that one
is is a classic? Okay? What was his name was?
Charles Parklay called him close because he's never in uniform,
he's obviously sitting on the but yeah, it just there.

(25:38):
It didn't seem like there was a lot of people that,
if anybody that came out and spoke in defense of him.
And I don't know, I just I always thought that
he was a likable guy. I mean, I know he's
got a little bit of a loudmouth, but he always
struck me as somebody that, yeah, but it's there's a
rallying cry, and you know, he isn't the underdog, and
it felt to me like he was somebody that the

(26:00):
players want to rally around. And apparently than if Nick
Chubb's comments, if you want to read into him as
much as we want to, it just seems like a
little like they were pretty tired of it. And you
remember John Dorsey when they were drafting Baker number one overall,
like what he said, he was like, yeah, when we
want to say, when we went to go work him out, Norman,
he kind of walked in, did this little whistle thing.
I think Hugh might have said this too on record,

(26:23):
they said, and it was like he was the pie piper,
you know, he had like all these guys following him,
all these guys leading him, and they kind of talked
about his leadership skills and everything else from his time
in Oklahoma, And it's just funny now kind of looking
back on it only because of one the way things
have transpired and what we're talking about now where that
it really hasn't been abing to come out in his defense,

(26:44):
and then really the success too afterwards, Like it's not
like Oklahoma fell off the face of the earth, like
Kyler Murray went on to when the Husman, Kyler Murray
went on to be number one overall pick. Kyler Murray
went on to help Oklahoma go to the College Football
Playoff win the Big twelve. Jaln Hurts came in, Jallen Hurts,
it was a finalist for the Heismant. I mean, it's

(27:08):
just I kind of look at and go, okay, like
maybe maybe that was just more justification to overlook some
of the questions that are concerns about his maturity or
his antics right like out in you know, Lawrence, Kansas
and the crotch crap whatever else. I mean, some people
love it, but maybe there's some people after a while,
like man, it's it's starting to get kind of annoying.

(27:30):
It's starting to get to be a distraction. At some point.
You got to grow up. Weren't you in Cleveland when
he got drafted the night he gets Yeah, I mean
the interesting thing was you had a mixed review from
the crowd. I mean honestly, like I remember sitting there
and there was told the story a number of times.
So they took Baker Mayfield won Denzel Ward at four
and I mean people who were in line to get

(27:52):
season tickets got out of line, and people were like
yelling and like here we go again, taking a small
quarterback and a small dB, and like people were beside themselves.
I was a bit shocked by the reaction, only because
he did have such a stellar college career. I'd followed
a lot of Baker from his time in Oklahoma and

(28:12):
and I'll still say it, like he was one of
the more accurate quarterbacks I'd ever broken down at the
college level, and I was just surprised by it. And and
and and seeing Denzel Ward was like, dud, He's one
of the best cover corners. And but they really felt
like this was gonna be like a revamp of Brandon
Weeden and Justin Gilbert, you know back when you go
back through that draft, and I was just like, well,
I mean, I guess we'll see how this whole thing

(28:34):
works out. But I think Denzel Wards turned out to
be a really good player for them, and I think
you look at Baker, and Baker had his moments. It's
just you know, at some point time, a new coach
comes in and and and new regime comes in, and
all of a sudden, they're not your advocates, so they're
not gonna put up with some of the antics that
are going on. That's the people were in line to
get season tickets and traft they were mother f and

(28:57):
people and they were just yelling, throwing stuff, and I
mean that was their moment. And it was like after
the Baker pick, they were a little more okay, okay,
like something a lot of people were telling Josh Allen,
some people were talking Sam Donald. Um. You know that
those were the two that, like a lot of people
kept saying. A lot of people kept saying Josh Allen.
And so when they took Baker, it was a little

(29:17):
more mixed. And then when you added in the denzil
A Ward, they were like what because I'm trying to
think what edge rusher was there at number four, because
that was the other position that they were kind of
like they could have taken I think an edge rusher
at that spot and they didn't. But I have to
go back and look through my notes. Yeah, it's I
just I remember that Josh Allen stuff was heat up

(29:40):
until the day of the draft. That was the report
that Josh Allen was gonna go number number one overall
because they felt like in those conditions, you want a
guy that's gonna be able to get the ball down
the field. And Bradley Chubb was the other guy that
was the that was the guy because he end up
going right after him to Denver, which I think Denver
got that pick in pretty quick. Um, but that was
the other guy. Yeah. And by the way, Lee Trip

(30:00):
in my ear was a ro Kwan Smith. No, it
was not an off the ball linebacker. But in the
top five, Bradley Chubb first. Yeah, because because the other
thing about that draft was, at least in the scout's mind,
like there was a big drop off between Bradley Chubb

(30:23):
and the next best edge Russia in that draft class,
which I think was Marcus Davenport. Not mistaken. So the
problem was like, if you didn't take one there, you
weren't going to find a guy that was going to
impact the way they thought it was. Now it's turned
out like Bradley Chubb, he's played okay so far, he
hasn't been maybe the player they thought he was gonna
be um, But I don't know that Marcus Davenport has

(30:44):
been either. So was that the draft? Now that I'm
looking at it. Tremaine Edmonds went sixteen to Buffalo. I
had him predicted going in the bottom ten of the
draft on our weekend show, and he ended up going
in the first draft. I think it was Terrell. It
was Terrell. You didn't mess up Tremaine because Tremain was
a lock to go in the first round. You had
Terrell Admans his brother. He went higher than that. I went.

(31:08):
I missed by over two. Yeah, but again, you know
some sometimes you make mistakes, bounce back the next year
and didn't get any right again. So it's fine. We
recovered nicely. It is two pros and a cup of
Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. We are going to
get to another edition of Vacation. Missed it, But for
all the latest from around the world of sports. A
man who was fired up for the NFL season, so

(31:30):
much so that he pulled the fire alarm here in
the studio, nothing but chaos here, I present to you
the smoking Eddie Garcia. Well, I gotta hand it to uh.
To you guys, Jonas, once you've got here, everything has
been taken care of. So I guess it shows you
when they think of the previous show. It just go
ahead and let that fire alarm just play throughout the

(31:51):
entire show. When did it start? It started right at
the right at the beginning of the show, right, and
it just kept going the entire time. How what were
the increments like? How like? How like how much time
in between one siren to the next? Every three minutes,
every three minutes, every three minutes for three outs. I

(32:11):
think the security guard, now, I think the security guard
was just like sitting near the button to turn it off,
because it would it would start and then it would
go off, but then it would keep coming back on again,
and it was Yeah, I mean, and he's trying to
get some sleep. Leave malone, Come on, how dare the
fire alarm interrupted sleep? That's not cool? Yeah, that works.

(32:32):
Let us let's hope that continues. By the way, I
hope I didn't put the jinks on it. But we'll
start with news from the NFL, where two days ago,
New York Jets head coach Robert Salis said the quarterback
Zach Wilson, who's recovering from arthur sopic knee surgery, might
play in the season opener. Well, on Wednesday, Salar revealed
that not only is Wilson not going to play in
the season opener, but he will not be available until
week four at the earliest. It's quite the difference in

(32:52):
a couple of days. Quarterback Lamar Jackson said Friday as
his deadline as suspend negotiations on a contract extension with
the Baltimore Ravens. He set up to practice on Wednesday.
Quote as of right now, we are still talking and
quote San Francisco Foda under start tighten George Kittlemans practice
Wednesday with a strained growing in baseball games and note
we had the Braves winning their seventh straight, beating the
a seven to three. But Atlanta falls out of a
tie for first in the nl EA's with the Mets

(33:15):
because New York swept a double header from the Pirates
by scores of five to one and tend to nothing.
So it's New York with a half game lead on Atlanta. Now,
Guardians loose to the Royals two to one. The Twins
were swept into double header by the Yankees by scores
of five, four and seven to one. Aaron Judges fifty
five home one of the year in that game. One
win for New York. White Sox beat the Mariners. So
Chicago and Minnesota are both two games back of Cleveland

(33:37):
for first place in the Al Central. Padres beat the
domonback six three, Phillies over the Marlins for three. San
Diego and Philadelphia still tied for the last wild card
spot in the National League, and the Blue Jays beat
the Orioles four to one. Toronto now with a four
and a half game lead on Baltimore for the last
wild card spot in the American League. Now back to
Brady Quinn, the war Arrington and Jonas Stocks in the
entire act dot Com Studios Thanks Hetty. Two pros and

Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas knocks with you here on
fs ARE coming up top an xstur here from the
tire rack dot Com Studios. It over ten minutes from now.
An interesting development as far as a quarterback situation goes

(35:05):
in the NFL. I'm a little confused because we were
told one thing, now we're told another we'll get into
that for you here top the next hour on FS
are right now though, it is time for something we
do every single morning, and it's called this. Sometimes you
can't get to everything in the world of sports or entertainment.
Good thing. The guys are here to bring you in

(35:25):
case you missed it, and for that we turn it
over to our executive producer lead do the lapp. That's right,
And in case you missed it, and I'm sure most
people did. Carlos Carlos Alcarez outlasted to Nick Centers. That
would be Carlos Yelkrez, the Spaniard defeated yet Younick Center
that the Italian in a five center that lasted over

(35:47):
five hours and fifteen minutes. It went to about two
fifty a m. Eastern time. He advances to the semifinals.
So it was five hours long at the US Open
and it and it ended a little before three am
local time? Was there anybody left watching it? And what
time they do last call at something like that? Is
it well before then? And they just let it? Why wait,

(36:12):
it's a valid point. I mean there should be some
of their serving people. Yeah, what about food? They got food?
Are they serving food that late, Like if you were
at that match and you're still and you're up, just
kind of you know, you know, at a at a
euro card in Manhattan right now, just ripping one. Just
let us know, like tweet the show and let us
know if you were there and what it looked like.

(36:33):
I mean, that's uh. Could you imagine though, playing anything
that long? Like that is a long ass tennis match,
but that's just a long game in general, Like could
you how long? Five hours and what? And it was
the latest finish in US Open history. I mean some
of the other matches that would go like four hours,

(36:55):
didn't Curious match go like four hours? I mean that's long.
Like that Penn State came I think, was like on
TV for like four hours. I was like, God, this
is long, but that's another hour and fifteen minutes. I mean,
I just I'm thinking for the players out there, like
you gotta really love tennis to be able to go
out there and play for that long a period of time.

(37:17):
You think they have blisters at that point? What happens
on their feet everywhere? Yeah, I mean it's still wonder
Like by thirty those guys are worn out, four arms
are cramping I gotta have probably cramping from the whole
out of that. That's that's something that most guys were
really to. Oh my gosh, Brady keep playing. Yeah, what

(37:39):
do you are something else? You are something of another?
My guy? You think that's something else? You didn't hear
Roberta just said behind the scenes, and I can believe
that it's more outrageous. You can't all right when you right,
when you think Brady's taking us in a direction, berno
yankster wheel on the other direction and we go right
into a tractor trailer. Just eat, it doesn't direction? Damn

(38:02):
that too proper terminology? Here? What else we got leave?
Do you guys? In case you missed it, it was
eleven year anniversary of an epic ran from Coastal Carolina
coach UH Coach Bennett take a listen here trying to
get our two boys ready to carry to golf term
before Pratts right, twelve cats live across the road. Our
doors open, screens broke. We need to get a new

(38:24):
screen door, but the screens broke, so you can come
in through the screen, but you can't get back out
of I turned to look, there's a little kitty cat
in our in our kitchen. So I said, what are
you doing in here? A little kid? Cat? By that
time cat turns tries to get back out, that screen
won't go that way. Cat starts going all crazy, And
I told our players we need more dogs. Bows barging

(38:45):
in and back. Got to go. Shut bow up? Mails like,
what's going on? Said as a cat in house? Cat
in the house? I said, ye as a cat in
the house. So I told our players. I tried to
let it out the front door. We cats still going
crazy in there. And I told our players you anybody more?
I got, No, we don't need a bunch of cats
in here. Yeah, looking in the mirror, but I look good.
I got my extra bands on, I got my other shoes.

(39:08):
Be a dolt. We don't need no meal. We don't
need no cats. We need more DoLS. I've never heard
the full clip before. I'll be honest with you. If
you're an administrator who hires a coach that goes in
a rand like that, I mean you laugh, but then
you go, what the hell is he talking about? You know?

(39:28):
All I got from that story is he's got a
broken front door screen that he needs to get fixed.
There was a cat that was going nuts. Although I
don't know where he got from. You don't like it, sons,
His sons were going to a golf matches. So what
do he say? What the hell does that have to
do with anything. I don't need no meal, we don't

(39:52):
need no cats, we need more dogs. God bless you,
David Bennett. You know what? That is a classic. I
had never heard the full clip before because Burner always
plays I'm like, who's saying that? Like it doesn't And
then when he goes starts the rant. You guys remember
the movie No Country for Old Men, Like the opening
scene rant where Tommy Lee Jones is doing the narration.

(40:13):
That's what it sounds like. And then if you watch
this guy's clip, he starts making the faces like a cat.
He starts contorting his face into all different directions. What
right now, David Bennett, give me give us a hint.
The golf courts not not coaching right now? He's not coaching. No,

(40:35):
can you give us a hint? You don't know he
got He got fired from Coastal Carolina. Then he went
to high school River Bluff High School in South Carolina.
Now he is an athletics director in Lexington, Lexington UH
School District in South Carolina, South Carolina. You know what

(40:59):
for him that he actually finished at No. Cats at
that place where he's the athletic director. Fox Sports Radio
