Speaker 1 (00:01):
It is the best of two pros in a couple
of Joe with Lamar areas, Rady, Quinn and Jonas knocks
on radio. I don't know if you guys knew this
or not, but it is a football Friday. Friday. Yeah,
(00:24):
come on, Friday, Steff, tackle them. Come on, Friday, here
on its sorry. Yeah, makes some noying live studio audience here.
They're fired up and excited about it and now we
have got wall to wall football coverage here on fs are.
(00:46):
We opened up the show talking about the Thursday night
football game. The browns get it done over the Pittsburgh steelers. Yeah,
we didn't talk about, though, any connection issues because we
had our own connection issues. Off The top. Uh, I
was flying, so you know, that kind of comes with
the territory, like there's gonna be some connection issues. Obviously
(01:06):
the Wifi is not, yeah, that great. However, I was
hearing from a number of people that the sound was off,
like you'd be hearing Al Michael's basically call a touchdown
and then they'd see the touchdown like five seconds later. Yeah,
you could tell. I saw a little bit of that.
It wasn't too bad. I didn't have too many issues
(01:29):
on my end, but you could tell just that the
entire crew hasn't worked a lot together. And now you're
passion the studio. No, no, no, I'm just saying, like
there's times where Kirk Curb Street, maybe, you know Al Michael's,
will throw in some you know, some comments or things
like like maybe a gambling comment or something like that.
(01:49):
In Kirk Curb Street maybe isn't used to that. So
it's probably gonna take some time. And then also on
the desk, Chris and Thompson's fantastic, but you can tell
you got Richard Sherman who's off some. You've got Ryan Fitzpatrick,
who does a good job. Tony Gonzalez is kind of
finding his way through, but he was concerned about the
weather last night. You tell like there's some it's a
little bit choppy. Tony is the most experienced. I know,
(02:12):
like it's just it's a little choppy at times. I'm
just saying, like, did you tell they haven't done a
lot of games together. Yeah, I just I mean would
call what it is. He's a bit more polished out
of all of them on the panel. I think the best.
I think I thought rich was pretty good. Yeah, I
mean thought fits was pretty good. I thought they were
pretty good because they allowed their personalities to come through.
(02:35):
But I mean Gonzalez has that that presence, that that
I've been here before, I've done it, I know how
to present it. I mean I like I like Tony.
I like Tony G's approach. It is so who owns Amazon? SPAZOS? Correct? Yes, okay,
I know, but I'm setting it up here. That's what
(02:57):
you well, I just it's a little the iron anie
and Tony Gonzolz being a part of the coverage that
Jeff bezos is, you know, Amazon. We already went over them,
just saying it's it's he went over two weeks and
I'm just saying it's a little. There's a lot there.
I just wonder. I mean, look, he does have the
ill will. Yeah, apparently not me. He's there, so good
(03:17):
for him. It's awesome. Now, speaking of the game, the
Cleveland Browns win the game, big win. Nick Chubb is awesome.
Nick Chubb might be the is he the best back
in football right now? He's better than right. Well, can
I make a case for deandre swift? He's he's fantastic
as well. He's averaging ten yards per rush, right, yeah,
(03:41):
and he's playing on at Mac I'm just saying. And
when he was healthy last year he was great for Detroit.
And Jared Goff, by the way, some respect for Jared Goff,
who's playing really well early in the season, also for
the Detroit Lions. He traditionally has, though, like people tend
to overlook that he's actually played really well at the
beginning of seasons. Um, so nick hub and the Cleveland
(04:01):
browns get it done last night, but of course the
conversation turns to what the conversation has turned to for
the Pittsburgh steelers all throughout the course of the off season,
then into the preseason, now to the regular season. What
are they going to do? A quarterback? So of course
after the game Mike Tomlin was asked about the quarterback situation,
a potential change maybe. Here was the steeler's head coach.
(04:24):
You guys, do you consider making any changes? Whether I'm not.
I'm not in that mindset. Um, I'm interested in reviewing
this tape and looking at the totality of and figuring
out how we collectively get better. So answer that question definitively. No.
So Mitch R Bisky is going to be the guy,
according to Mike Tomla, moving forward. So the offense. Just
(04:44):
what do you expect him to send that moment, though,
you know, like, is that the moment where he goes
you know what? Or turn it over to the rook
or turn it over to Kenny Pickett? We uh, read
a quick talk in the locker room. UH, maybe grabbed
a couple of beers and yeah, we just decided right
here here, to whim. I mean makes sense. I mean
he's not gonna make it right now. But what do
you do? What do we look you have to go
(05:07):
through changes on your staff. Love You're coaching, and I
assume you have a discussion first. Watch the tape. Yeah, yeah,
you do have. I mean on something as big as that,
you know, something as important as you do. You quarter.
I didn't ask Tom on the question. What are you
telling I didn't. It's certainly a conversation you have with
(05:29):
your staff and with the players involved and with the
players period before you you have that conversation with the media.
So at least I would be my my take on
it seems like Rabinsky's he's not playing bad, but it's
just the offense stinks. Just say it just say the
offense stinks. I don't like the play calling. It seems
(05:51):
like everything's a battle uphill. But like George pickens makes
that catch and you just see how talented he is,
and then they got deante Johnson and they've got like
all it just seems like they've gotten more there to
work with and they're not getting anything done. I don't know,
I mean I just I wonder. We talked about it yesterday,
like what do they make the decision? To change coordinators
(06:12):
or quarterbacks first? It just feels like Rabinski is in
a tough spot here to where he might be the
fall guy, even though it's not really his fault. They
drafted a first round quarterback behind them. They didn't draft
a first round play caller behind him. You know, it's
not like Matt Canada is gonna get axed. So what
ends up happening? Does Canada get fired or do they
just give play calling duties to somebody else plack on? Well,
(06:33):
they probably would just for for there wouldn't be an awkwardness.
But I think it's gonna be a quarterback change first
and they'll get through the season. I don't I don't
think Mike Thoma will make a change on a staff
in season? Yeah, I think if it gets bad, anything,
everything is on the table. I think he's like that.
You think he's like that? No, he's I don't know,
(06:54):
he's he's a loyal dude and and he's going to
he's going to try to ride it out with the
guys he's chosen best he can. But it's also the
idea of and you know this, I mean at some
point you got to go into self preservation and if,
if this season continues to trend the way it's trending
(07:16):
right now for the steelers, yea, he might have to because, yeah,
I mean people are people have drawn attention to it
and they've placed the spotlight on Canada. And when you're
one of your arguably outside of you know, branch, all
your your most legendary quarterback comes out and says it,
like just says it, you know it's you know it's
(07:40):
gonna it's gonna create some waves. And if they can't win,
and you certainly would assume that, they would probably have
to address that. I mean they got a new defensive coordinator,
you know, based off of that type of stuff. You know.
So and they've had to get a different offensive coordinator
based off of this right. So I mean, maybe he
pulls an Alzheimer and does like what Belichick does, where
(08:03):
it's like, you know what nobody's calling plays. I was
gonna say Brian Flores called play. Think a defensive minded
guy like that can do it. I'll show you great
Patricia plays over here, because then you know at least
Brian Flores would take, you know, Kenny, pick it out
of the game late on the road and then put
your bisky in, because that would be the most important.
(08:24):
We would have no problem pulling the quarterback and putting
another one and then putting another one back in. That's
definitely on his resume. Can let me just play play
out a scenario for you. So the steelers come back
next weekend and they're hosting the jets. All right, are
you confident the steelers can beat the jets next weekend? No, okay,
because after that it's at Buffalo, it's Tampa Bay, it's
(08:48):
at Miami and it's at Philly. This could get really
ugly in a hurry. And, by the way, they probably,
you can make an argument, should have lost that first
game to Cincinnati. So this could get really ugly. Over
the next month and a half for Pittsburgh, and I
just wonder how long we're going to be doing this
before Mike Tomlin maybe does go and do self preservation
mode and says screw it, what do we got to
(09:09):
lose at this point? Let's get somebody else in there
like there there. I just think Pittsburgh's in a really
tough spot here. So we get to see how how
those Pro Sports Um, by the way, they're the reason
they're they're right. Yeah, Um, we we do have some
over under results from last night and Thursday night football,
so we get to see how that all played out.
(09:30):
So do we have our grand entrance music here for
some over unders as we uh Lee? What do we
got on the over unders of last night? Yesterday we
had the over unders at thirty eight and a half. Yeah,
they were sitting at forty and a half when the
when it opened. So anybody that got the number early
was there going all right, this is great, we're just
gonna kill the clock here. They started lateraling and then
(09:51):
it ended up in the end zone. So a lot
of people got a job there. Not Us, because we
did it in real time and had the over. That's right.
Everybody hit the over on that. We had passed touchdowns
for Drubisky at one and a half. He had a
he had a goose at zero. Lavar, you had the
under on that. One rushing and receiving yards for Nick
Chubb at ninety four and a half. We were splitting
on that. He definitely hit the over all rushing all
(10:12):
on the ground, a hundred thirteen yards for Jonas and Brady.
On the over receiving yards, a Marii Cooper, we had
a forty nine and a half. He doubled that at
one oh one for Brady and then number of of outages.
We had it labeled or server outages for Amazon Prime.
One and a half Brady and Lavar, you had the under.
I'm gonna say that's the we'll we'll give that the under.
(10:34):
All Right, depending on where you were at, it's it's
not on Amazon, it's more on your Internet. Right. My
line was fine. I mean it just I don't know
why did I take what are the results here? Brady
took it this week. Four to Jonas is three. Lavar.
(10:56):
You got to I got two. That's right. Just not
say Nick Chuck would be under a hundred yards. Talking
to me out of it because my my initial was
to say he was going over because they're run deep
and still one. But you were pretty pessimistic about the
players because you had trabiskie under, Chubb under, which was
surprising his last name Toomari Cooper. Yeah, pretty you had
(11:23):
over on points. Did I have the over? Yeah, I
probably should have said the under, which I was thinking.
Just full disclosure. Jonas and I were like going back
and forth, sending voice notes about just what the browns
should do and what the steelers should do, like down
that final drive, and there was a lot of people,
(11:44):
I'm sure, that were literally biting off their fingernails if
you had the over in that game, because it looked
like at halftime it was gonna hit easily and then
this third quarter was slow, fourth quarter was slow until
that and then obviously the game ends the way it does.
It's just it was just so awkward, like the final
five minutes of that game were so weird and and
and awkward. And then, you know, there was there was
(12:07):
the Boswell kicked the field goal and then they had
to rekick it and it was fourth and one and
there was some okay, they're gonna go for it and
then there's an onset. They almost recovered the on site
kick as well too, but then pickens was offside. It
just there was a real choppy end of the game here. So,
for those of you that were able to watch the
game without any streaming issues, you saw a real sloppy
game at the end there. But Hey, good for the browns.
(12:29):
Browns are back, man, those browns. It should be three
and O or back. Brady Quinn, you're Cleveland browns. That's
Dan Brownies. Be Sure to catch live editions of two
pros and a cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, Lavar
Errington and Jonas knocks week days at six am eastern,
three Am Pacific on Fox sports radio and the I
heart radio APP. Can I sell you? Guys? I always
(12:52):
whenever I travel, I always forget something. Man, Oh what
I forgot? Like shirts, because brings some stuff to go
work out in. I brought shorts and and bring shirts,
and so now, like, what do you do? Like? Do
you make like do I work out like one of
the shirts I'm gonna wear like later today? It's like
a dinner or something, or do you just like you
(13:13):
just cancel it on going to dinner. Like, do I
have to prioritize working out over actually going and grabbing
a bite to eat in public's chested well here, or
do I go bear chested to the fitness room, hoping
no one's gonna see me? And now I could be
that guy. I mean, do you have? You have no
other shirts. You can literally have no other shirts. I
(13:34):
brought a few pairs of shorts and I was like,
in my head I had packed the shirts. Obviously did not.
I mean, I would just go no shirt. Yeah, I mean,
you can't find the t shirt somewhere. I mean, you're
so that's what I'm doing now. is now I'm like,
all right, I can just grab something from Amazon or something,
I don't know, chested like literally, they'll have it at
(13:55):
your door in like five minutes, I know. And the
best part is when you're on the road, you know,
I don't have to work about the boxes. I'll let
all the I might order a bunch of Anamazon things.
Just let all the boxes pile up. I don't have
to do anything about it. There you go. Awesome. That's
so funny. That's really a thing. That's a thing, dude,
really a thing. Um, it is two pros and a
cup of Joe. Here we're able to get radio. A
(14:18):
real dilemma, man. Well, I I did have a few
people who have been like hey, listen to show, big fan,
two pros and a cup of Joe. One guy was
like hey, I just I just listen to you guys
podcast and I was like alright, cool man, thanks for sports.
You're on location right outside Anna Arbor? Correct, you're right outside.
I'm actually in a small little hut right outside, right
(14:38):
outside Michigan Stadiums, a nice little coleman tent set up
and you're ready to go right outside. It's like it's
like one of those little portable like offices people are
putting their backyard now. It's like, like I said, because
they want to work from home, but they kind of
don't want to work from home, so then they just
put up like a telephone booth in their backyard to
actually take calls in one type and work from home.
But I could you imagine if you guys put up
(14:59):
like literally like a tent like that, like the hunting
you know, or like for like the kings and stuff
like that when they were like traveling during wards and
stuff like that. Like look really like a real spot
of real space, but it really was just a tent.
That would be pretty cool. Yeah, fired up something now.
Now are you going to based on the do we
(15:20):
have any update on the weather out there? We're looking
at what like mid sixties potentially. It's like perfect weather. Yeah,
it is midwest weather. I mean just ask Tony Gonzalez.
He was dressed up like he was in the idea
rod man. He had gloves, yes, and a blanket, apparently,
at a blanket hold on you when you're old, though,
(15:46):
hearts out of circulation and he's getting up there. So
you know, I will agree with that. All right, you
know Cleveland better than anybody. Sixty degrees, twenty four winds
at night in that stadium, is that worthy of gloves
and a blanket while you're sitting on the desk? Okay,
give me a break. Did playing case? Yeah, I mean,
(16:08):
come on, man, he knows what cold is. Yeah, it
seemed like a bit earlier in the year to to
throw on a blanket and gloves, but you know, hey, listen. So,
so at least you're not gonna have to deal with
the the temperatures and uh, you know, you freezing your
balls off like he did during the Ohio State Michigan
game last year. I hope not. I mean, I would
(16:30):
ass I'll be okay, yeah, but who knows? Um? By
the way, we are brought to you by Nitz. Any
first responder will tell you never try to beat a
train after breaking it can take a mile for a
train to completely stop. So when you come to a
rail crossing, stop because trains can so I do want
to mention this, because we're talking about it briefly during
the break, when you say that people were fans of
the show and he saw him while you were traveling
(16:52):
to go cover the Michigan game with the big newon
boys this weekend. It sure beats the name that our
show was given by somebody on twitter who called this
what was it to a holes and a cup of bleak? Yeah,
they called Petro's Papa deals good. So listen that. That
(17:20):
made us feel better. At least people do listen to
the show and they didn't. They didn't air US out
like that. Jokes. It's so good. All right. Coming up next, though,
we are going to hear from somebody who just loves
some drama. They love themselves some drama. They can't help
themselves will get into that for you. It is an
NFL story right here on fs are for all the
(17:42):
latest self from around the world of sports. We present
to you the one and only twenty plus years of
excellence behind the MIC, Edmund effing, oh my gosh, Garcia, betty,
what's going on? Jonas and man diging out, Freddy Edward.
(18:05):
I wanted to provide you with a little bit of
an edge because I know, uh, you're annoyed with what
you saw last night as a steeler fan. So I
want to do I mean annoyed, but not shocked, to
be honest, with the come on, I mean, you've given
up on Mitch already. Come on, Eddie, I gave up
on him before the well, at least you don't have
(18:27):
to be disappointed if you gave up. That's true, I said.
I said Proved Me Rock Mitch, and so far he
has not. Anyway, week three of the NFL got underway
with Thursday night football in Cleveland, an F C North clashes.
The browns beat the steelers twenty nine to seventeen. Game
was a little bit closer than the score would indicate.
There was that, you know, one of those crazy pitch
(18:49):
plays at the end of the game where Pittsburgh is
trying to make something out of nothing. In Cleveland score
a touchdown on the final play. Nick Chubb with a
hundred and thirteen yards on the ground and a big
fourth quarter touchdown. Rondal steal the victory and Kobe Brissette
had a pair of touchdown passes as well. As for
the aforementioned Mitch Trobiski. For Pittsburgh, he was twenty of
thirty two, passing two hundred seven yards. No touchdowns, now receptions.
He had a one yard touchdown run Cleveland. Now two
(19:11):
and one with the wind, Pittsburgh One and two with
the lost. News from the NBA and we thought maybe
there was more to the story, and maybe there is.
As expected, Boston selics head coach Emailodok has been suspended
for the entire upcoming season for a relationship with a
female staff member that violated team rules, and initial reports
where that the affair was consensual, but the athletic is
reporting that it may also have included some unwanted advances
(19:33):
at some point from Udoka. Now back to Lavar Arrington,
Brady Quinn and Jonas stocks and the Tire Act Dot
Com Fox sports radio studios. Thanks Eddie, two pros and
Nick Cup of Joe. Here on Fox sports radio, Lavar ARRINGTON, Brady,
Quinn Jonas knocks with you here. You can hang out
with us as always on the I heart radio APP
coming up and we'll call it about twelve minutes from now.
Just a bad, bad break for a lot of people
(19:54):
that watch NFL Games and a lot of people that
partake in some of the gambling of NFL Games. A
bad break for everybody involved. Will Get into that here
for you on fs are Um. So the one of
the big games this weekend. Obviously, we talked about at
the M V P battle at quarterback between Aaron Rodgers
and Tom Brady. For those of you packer fans that
were wondering whether or not Aaron Rodgers is going to
(20:16):
be sticking around long term and see this thing through,
much like the way that Tom Brady has. Don't worry,
Rogers is gonna go ahead and kill your joy right
away and let you know he's not interested in playing
at at a certain point in his career, much like
Tom Brady is the opposite. Here. Was the packers quarterback.
I won't be. I'll be doing something else. I have
a lot of other interests outside the game. Game has
(20:37):
been really, really good to me for that. I've given
my all to the game. At some point hit a
good time to do something else, and I strongly believe
that will be before so do you think he finished
one family? Let me ask you this. If Green Bay wins,
if Green Bay wins a super bowl this year, does
(20:58):
rogers come back next year? No, I think I think
he's gone to he's gone. Like I don't see. I
don't think he sees the end of this contract. Because
was it? Was it a four year extension? Three year? Yeah, well,
I you know, three years he was a free agent.
So yeah, I just I don't see him. Not only
is he not around at forty five, I don't think
he's around for another couple of years. He has he
(21:19):
has really towed the line in terms of giving enough
and not giving enough, like I think he's done. Almost
has find a job of towing the line, of of
being that guy. Um, so when you get is I
don't want to say reckless, but he's dangerously close to
(21:40):
being reckless with some of the things he says and
how he says it in terms of just, you know,
what his outside life living and lifestyle, you know, is
he's so comfortable with who he is and he's so
comfortable with where he is in life. You gotta believe
that that the end is near because once you become
(22:00):
a real person, a human being of sorts, you're playing
the game. It's it's it's the end. The end is near. Man,
you gotta be a common bro. You become a common man.
When you're not playing the game, you're like you're a warrior,
an animal, uh Neanderthal, whatever you want to call dirt bag.
(22:21):
You play the game, you're just a different person, you know,
and once that starts to change and that kind of
it starts to like fizzle away, you know, it's it's
melting away on Aaron Rodgers quickly. Here's what I said
support of Lavar this case. You have to be in
a certain state of mind in order to play the
game of football, especially at like the highest levels, like
(22:44):
college and and NFL. And I get a first hand
look at this every week and I always go, oh, yeah,
like I really enjoy doing that. Like nowadays, it's been
so long, like I don't know if I would like you.
You you obviously, when you see the game aimes and
you see the plays and stuff. You look at it,
you go that's the fun part. Like yeah, of course
(23:06):
everyone misses that. What you don't miss is like waking
up the next morning and feeling like you just got
hit by a car. Like, yeah, I was, I was
crossing the street the other day and I got hit
by a Buick, and now all of a sudden, I like,
I feel like my next stiff, I can barely turn
my body and I'm gonna go out and do it again,
like that's that's like like wanting that and like feeling
(23:28):
that sense of accomplishment, like I got my ask tip.
But Man, we won. You know, like when you when
you have to think that way, it's messed up, like
it's a little messed up. Step further, further. Well, we
were together in in Iowa and we were on that
like I was on that field. We were walking down.
Let me tell you what I felt when I saw
(23:50):
him got, and I've told this story before. It's scared
to death out of it. I thought you got a
little like a little excited. I was. I didn't, but
I'm looking at the size of these dudes and the
way they looked was it the Iowa alignment or the
Penn state line. When I'm when I'm Iowa Ligneman, we're
doing their warm ups. I was like, Oh am I
(24:13):
did this, like I was watching the way they were
moving and the way they were hitting each other. I
was like, oh my gosh, like, ain't no way scared
to death. Are you kidding me? I used to run
around or run through people like this. Like you had
a little to do with their entrance. You know, they
(24:33):
came into a C D C. I think back before.
I was just like, I think that freaked him out
a little bit because they did look they did look gigantic.
They were walking down that walk away like I am
just destroy anything in front of me. I mean, but
I saw a couple of like I'll tell you. Even
in spring, I was at our blue white game and
(24:55):
I was in the I was in the facility. I mean,
what is that? To Be White? was that to be
blue and white? Oh, if that's racist, then I am.
I am. I am truly a racing I am. I
am so pro blue and white. I am gonna lie
to when are they going to get rid of crayons?
(25:16):
Because those are racist too. You know, Um, you know
they're called crayons, man whatever. Anyway, when they came walking
out of the locker room to go to their meetings,
I was looking up, and I'm not a little dude,
I'm looking up like Jesus Good God, Holy Moly, and superlatives. Yeah,
(25:44):
I was using different superlatives, even the coaches. The coach
came walking I was like God Dag, like even the
coaches was looking looking like they was swollen, yoked up.
It's just different. Hey, when you become a person, the
game of football becomes different, and that's back to my
original point. I just think that Aaron Rodgers has become
(26:07):
like he's become a mortal human being at this point
and you gotta believe that he's he's going to hang
it up soon, right. I gotta believe that Iowa, what
is it called Ayahuasca? That that that tree weeed that
he uh, yeah, whatever that is, has hallucinogenic properties. It's not.
It's not a drug or anything. It's just a plant,
(26:28):
according to some the hippy you know, no, that's the hippo.
Lettis is weed, that's that left handed cigarette. You know, people,
that's not a drug. AOUAHUASCA is like whatever. AYAHUASCA. It's like,
do you know how to say? Yeah, it's like root heroin.
I don't know, like like dirt here, heroin, dirt, heroin.
(26:48):
I just thought that was more like Cava and some
of that. Like have you guys heard of some of
that stuff people drink? Uh, you never heard of Cava?
K Va. Yeah, what is it? That all time. I
don't know what. It gives you a little buzz. Awaska music.
All right, into this. Do you have to listen to this? Dumb, dumb, dumb. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
(27:19):
like official Ayawaska dumb. And then, like all of a sudden,
like you open up a vase and like you go
when he comes out, then you drop that towel and
you go hop on that massage table and you can
take two on a thirty million right now. Be Sure

Carmen and met Dan buyer on the I heart radio,
(28:22):
APP apple podcast and wherever you get your podcasts. So, Brian,
day balls, all right, that's day balls. Right now there
is now dump truck nuts day balls. He's uh, he's
got himself a football team that is two and Oh,
the giants, two and Oh. Uh. He's wheeling and dealing,
(28:45):
he's the talking town and uh and so, uh. He's
got this situation on his hands where they paid Kenny
Golladay a pretty good contract last year to come man
and Kenny all day actually was was good in Detroit,
like he put up some at numbers in Detroit, and
so he got to the giants and it just has
not gone well and he has hardly played. He's playing
(29:05):
like a couple of snaps a game. And you know,
Kenny Golladay has been saying that he's not happy about
not playing and Brian Dave all was quoted as saying
I've been in the NFL a long time. I don't
know that I've ever been part of any team where
someone's not happy about something. I have great respect for Kenny.
I'm glad he's not happy he didn't play. That show's competitiveness.
(29:25):
Now this comes on the heels of a report that
came out that Brian Dave all was facetiming wide receivers.
It's like if you're Kenny Golladay and you're there and
you've got this contract and you're supposed to be the guy,
and Brian TB ball is facetiming other players while you
can't get on the field and facetimes everyone. I was
(29:48):
facetime of Sunday after the congratulate them. I was doing
someone with Reggie and Reggie's like, Hey, man, you got
Dave Ball's numbers? Like yeah, he's like. I was like shoot,
let's just facetime. So you're facetime and went his way back.
I mean he just he faced times everyone. He's he's
one of the most personable people I've ever met. I
remember we called a game one time for Fox in
buffalo and he was and he was the O C
(30:10):
and we walked out of our meeting and our producer
and director are like no coach has ever asked anything
about me ever in a meeting before and and like
he had asked them like where they were from, because
he caught something in their accent, and they went on
this whole conversation like just generally kind of get trying
to get to know them, and they and they came
away so impressed. There, like no one's ever cared to
(30:33):
ask us a question or actually got to know us
and like showed like humanity and he was so awesome
that instance. Like he had won over that room, like
every room, if you've been around Dave's or Brian Dable,
he will win you over because he's like that as
a person. Um, so it's not surprising, but like I
think it's response to you know, like hey, he should,
(30:54):
he should be mad, like I love it because that's
just how he is. He's also extremely, extremely competitive, and
he will make sure you're you're constantly competing or constantly
feeling like you need to be competing. Why did it
take him so long to get a head coaching job?
Because he seems like he's the perfect fit for New
York and and like people love him. And if everything
(31:15):
you're saying is true, and I've heard similar stuff, that
he's just an awesome guy, like, why did it take
so long for him to get the opportunity? I think
you wanted the right job. Okay, I mean, do you
think that Daniel Jones was not that he's not that old,
by the way. That well, no, and say the right job,
you're also taken to account the organization. Like you want
(31:37):
the right job, like an organization that's looking for the
right guy. That had some pieces or maybe you feel
like you can build around but you know, those are
part of that's part of that too. But it's not
like he's like that old. I mean he's been coaching
for a while, but and uh, and now he's got
the giant's heading in the right direction. And and that's
still a respected organization. Correct. As far as just the
(32:00):
marriage said, it's it's that's that's like one of the best.
They treat you as good as anyone. Right, yes, they
do so very well. Rann organization. Man, I remember. I
can say about quarterback, but I remember there was a
quarterback there who he um. They were like they were
going to release him, but he got sick, I think
(32:20):
he got motto, and they actually kept him for an
additional week just to make sure like he was covered,
he was good, and I remember talking about he's like yeah,
they didn't, they had no business doing it. He's like
they literally kept me on the roster for an additional
week just to make sure I was good to release me.
Like I was like Oh, I was like, I don't know,
(32:42):
maybe there's some other like, you know, red tape or
something there, but I've never heard of that with the
organization before. I mean they are as good of an
organization as you'll find as far as how they run.
They do a great job, man. I mean I had
a great experience there. In fact, I'll tell people all
the time it saved my perception and my experience of
(33:04):
of of National Football League, you know, and and and so,
you know, I knew what it was. It's like every level.
I always had stability, I always had legendary coaches and
it was even that it continued to be that in
the pros. It was just that the way it was
ran in Washington was so bad. It left such a
(33:27):
bad taste in my mouth. I didn't have a great
I mean I didn't have a long time. As what
I was said, I didn't have a great career in
New York. I was there for one season and did
not make it through the season, you know, healthy. So
it wasn't even like I was there as a mainstay
for a few years, even I it was, you know
what did work out that way, but the way they
(33:49):
treated me, it just it restored feeling, you know, confidence
in the fact that you know there is there is
a right way to do it and I actually was
crazy for thinking the way I was thinking when I
left Washington. So the mirror and and Wellington, the Maror
ands and titch family, um, their their roots are strong
(34:13):
and and the way they've handled things. I always tell
the story when people ask me about them. You know,
the one thing that really really resonated with me is
that the grandkids that will one day run that organization
were were locker reporters. You know, they they took your
your helmet, they took my my shoulder pads, and I
(34:34):
paid them. You pay them, you know, to take care
of your locker. Like I had a certain type of
snacks I like, I like a certain type of chewing gum,
they'd have my lockers stocked the way that that I
wanted its stock. They take my my you know, my
clothes Um net and take it to, you know, the
laundry and stuff like that, like learning the game, learning
(34:55):
the business from the bottom up. And when you have that,
that understanding and accountability, that leaves such a lasting impressing
on the people that work there, the work for the
families that owned the team and and and you take
a sense of ownership over trying to be successful. So
I thought it was strange that they've had so many
(35:17):
struggling and trying years. But the one thing you always
say is you think that you know a franchise, an
organization that's ran as well as they are, they'll they'll
eventually figure it out. So the grandkids are basically bellhopsy. Why?
Why can't you just appreciate the fact kids are working hard? Right,
(35:38):
that's maybe that's their lemonade stand. All right, we'll listen
to showing us what's saying. So you so you may
not have a chance. Yeah, I think that's what? I'll
tell you what. I would have done a better job
than them, but I'm not. You know, that sounds like
cheap labor, is what it sounds like to me. It
sounds like they're cutting, sounds like you know, and they were.
They weren't babies, I'm they weren't like little goods. They
(36:01):
were like you know, they were in high school, they were,
they were, they were of age. Can you imagine that?
Hey like going into a job interview. So tell us
about your previous work experience. Well, I carried Lavar ARRINGTON's
jockstrap to the clean. Well, here's what's funny, right, because
that same story was being told and one of the
older one of the older owner sons or whatever that
(36:22):
I think, had already taken over, as as somebody of
significance in the organization, used to do it for Lawrence Taylor,
you know what I mean. So it's like there's the
one that had to do it for Laar and then
it's like then there's the ones that did it for
like the Lawrence Taylor. Mr Taylor, what's this baggy in here?
I don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. Powdered sugar.
(36:45):
Oh No, that was a powdered donut I got. I
stepped on. Don't worry about it, don't see, it's a snowball.
It's just a snowball sitting in that. But then again,
maybe he might have told them to you know, you know,
Oh man. But Yeah, Lawrence Tab man, I love Lawrence Taylor.
He's one of my all time favorite football players, Lawrence Taylor.
(37:08):
He's like one of the all time great personalities of
the NFL. He's man, he's awesome. I just did that
football life or whatever. Yeah, yeah, he seemed a little
bit more forgiving at the time of the injury than
when they were rehashing it on the field, like he was. Well,
I think it's because like five was like made a
living off of it a little bit. It's like there's
(37:30):
no one who wants to tell you that he's got
his leg decapitated more than show that. We saw it.
Show we all saw a man, but the way didn't
show that has bust your balls because you were chewing
gum at the draft. Come on, Dude. I bust his
balls about all his prostate things that he does, you know,
which is funny, boy, because, like I told you last stif.
Then we were apt in the National Championship Game Two
(37:50):
Thousand and twelve. We were supposed to build some panel
together and Joe was like not up there yet and
the crowd's gonna sitting there waiting. I was like, oh,
he's in the bathroom. You know, guys, you've seen he's
got prostated shoes. So I mean I'm saying, you gotta
work with the material that you're given, and Joe gives
a lot of material. Um, Hey, he was a great broadcaster,
(38:11):
one of my yeah, did a dine in my job
all those years. But there it is, the New York judge.
By the way, the giants, with these two wins to
start off the year, have now improved their records since
their last playoff appearance to twenty four and fifty nine.
So how about it? So they can? I just ask
this because I kind of feel like with the Eli
(38:36):
Manning thing, like they held on until he was ready
to be done pretty much. Yeah, I mean, grant they
drafted Daniel Jones to eventually replace him and all that,
but there was that funky thing with Gino Smith and that,
but they held on for a while like that. They
could have won a different direction or they could have
moved on they didn't like they they hung with them.
(38:57):
They kept trying to make it work. I think gotta
give them a lot of credit for that because that
played a role to a degree in in what their
that record looks like. When they really could have tried
to look at some other options, they did and they
stayed loyal to him, and I think that speaks to
their organization though. Yeah, and uh, and now how does
Zeli Manning Return? The favor? GOES TO PENN STATE, puts
(39:19):
on a prosthetic nose, a WIG, and now they're selling
what's the name of his? Uh, what was Chad powers
or something. Do you see that Lavar? They're selling Chad
power share. It's a Penn state yeah, yeah, by the way,
it wasn't funny. Not One element of it was funny
and it's a disgrace that they're slinging those at Penn
State Games. They should be slinging number eleven. We are
(39:41):
sticks jerseys. That's what they should be slinging there. How bad.
And there's no sticks jerseys available. Yeah, just make them available.
But it's yeah, I do love La always says that.
Is that like a catch phrase? Like is that? I'm
a man of catch phrases, Que, are you? Yeah, I
do have catch phrases. So, but yes, that that is
(40:04):
one that will stick in my mind forever. Get loose, man.
What is that you with? Lamar? Don't lose, SAM, Sam,
come on, hey, Sam, I promptu Lavar. How many drops
of Lavard you having the system right now on the board?
(40:24):
Not Enough. Just a couple. Can you go through? Can
you go? Like, what do you got here for us?
Do you need a minute? Do you want? You want
us to give you? A minute? Just a minute, especially
have like two honestly, what are they? Shouldn't take along.
All right, it's a waiting uh really, we're going to
wait for this. No, got loose. Yeah, lose. Oh Man,
(40:58):
I can't tell. Is that like, well, far are you
doing this live right now? Is that this drop? I
don't even know that. I can you try get louse.
It's pretty close. Come on now, come on, come on.
Don't even know what I was talking about. I love it.
(41:21):
