Ti irac dot com the way tire buying should be
so the big topic of conversation was what happened last
night Thursday Night football. The Cincinnati Bengals are back at
five hundred. Good for Cincinnati, but the story coming out
of that game is the status of twa Tuga Byloa
(01:22):
And I don't know if you guys saw this, but
there's been a threat that has been handed down. All right,
So this is a threat from the NFL Players Association
executive director Demorris Smith, a man who stands his ground,
stand his ground every single time forehead probably both um.
(01:51):
He said this quote. We insisted on these rules to
avoid exactly this scenario. We will pursue every legal option,
including making referrals against the doctors to licensing agencies and
the team that is obligated to keep our players safe.
End quote. The threat is real from Demorris Smith. He's
(02:14):
gonna lay the hammer down here and they are going
to act change that. Everybody's gonna be held accountable, how
about it. Yeah, just just like the last three times
or two times we've got c b a s. Yeah,
laid down the hammer. Then give me a break. I mean,
what do they do? What? What what are they going
to do? Can nothing? Just like it's always hot air
(02:38):
from the NFL p A and and look, I hate
to be critical, but the hard part is is there's
just no power, there's no leverage. So yeah, go go
the legal route. Um. By the way, we want to
know why all the dudes have gone up for all
NFL players that are part of the union, it's because
of our legal fees. Since de Marie Smith has taken over,
(02:59):
everything has to be litigated, everything has to be taken
to court. And he might feel like that's the most
effective way to get changed, but there's also a thing
called negotiating, and unfortunately they don't want to go that route.
And that's why you know, the union dudes are up.
You pay more than you should have to for what
we uhould call it a ten thousand dollar T shirt,
that was a fifteen thousand dollar T shirt. I think
(03:21):
there dudes are close to twenty thousand a year now
for all the players, and it's all mostly for for
legal fees. Because that's how de Marie Smith wants to fight.
He's not the kid that fights you in the playground.
Right when you're a little kid, something happens, you get
in a fight, you duke get out. You know what
happens he goes and tells the teacher and he pleads
his case. The teacher can fight his fight. That's what
(03:43):
this is. They go through the they try to go
through a legal battle. Was trying to go back tell
my mommy and daddy, and my mommy and daddy to
tell your mommy and daddy, and you're gonna get in trouble.
That's just that's how that's how he fights his fights.
So it's it's I mean, nothing's gonna come from this
because they're probably gonna come to find out that too,
was probably complicit and wanting to play and wanting to
(04:05):
be out there knowing how big of a year this is.
And there's there's not gonna be anything that comes from this.
M hmm. It's generally a popularity contest when it comes
down to that position. And listen, I know that at
times the p A does some really fine things that
assist in help with what's going on with the players.
(04:26):
There are some really fine people that work in the
p A office, and so I don't want to minimize that.
But you know, it's almost like and and and and
take this for what it's worth at face value, right,
It's almost like that that whole deal like that time
(04:46):
period when if something happened to someone in a certain community,
you'd always see like nothing nothing going on before that
was loud enough or big enough. So you don't hear
from you don't see something from him. But every time
something happens, you see you know the Reverend Jesse Jackson,
(05:07):
or you see the Reverend now Sharp. You know what
I mean, Like every time this certain thing happens, you're
going to it's like this guy doesn't even have a
connection to it, but he's going to be speaking on
it as if he is an expert on the situation.
And that's kind of like what the NFL p A
has become. It's almost like, you know, they're more almost
(05:30):
like an I don't want to say them, I would
say the figurehead of it, and the Morris Smith is
almost more like a reverend now Sharpen, where you know,
when you really should be around and we really should
be hearing your voice and seeing you advocate for certain
things that would really really work in favor of the player,
(05:54):
you don't hear anything, but when there's something that's out
there that can give you visibility and stroke your own
personal you know, ego or or push your own personal agenda.
We see you, and that's kind of I mean, and
and maybe that's a harsh assessment of it, but that
just kind of feel like that's what it is. It's
(06:16):
just kind of like what it is. You pop up
when it's convenient, like everybody's paying attention to this topic.
Oh we're outraged, Well, you know what, why didn't you
guys go to why do we not have the type
of relationship with the p A where you communicate it
with two before the game, like why are you coming
out after after he's gotten hurt? I will go I'll
(06:39):
go a step further. Some people are coming out saying
we need to change the requirements for how we look
at clearing players to play on Thursday football. Here's a
novel idea. Either stop playing on Thursday football. What you're
not gonna do because Ama Amazon is paying you a
billion dollars a year for those rights? Or do it.
(07:00):
We talked about through the COVID year when they started
moving games around and other weeknights and making it putting
them in prime stagger the schedule. You're able to staggle
the schedule to create bigger windows between games. The NFL
could do it. I have no idea why the NFL
p A wouldn't push this agenda for a player's safety.
(07:22):
That's the only time anything ever changes in the NFL
is when they're like, oh, it's about player's safety, and
the NFL is like, okay, we'll throw you a bone
this time. But like we saw it, and we saw
it play out, We've seen it happen before. This. This
isn't the old days where you've got a sitcom that
everyone's gonna want to watch and compete with on a
Tuesday night. People are dying for football throughout the course
(07:45):
the week. Gambling is becoming bigger and bigger. You're gonna
get more action on those individualized games if you sprinkle
them throughout the course of a week, And on top
of that, you're gonna be able to have the ability
to rest those players more. I don't why they haven't
looked into this harder. It's like they feel beholden to
what the TV networks want to do. And guess what.
(08:06):
TV networks do not care about players safety and their health.
They care about making money. So I have no idea
why they won't push more for this. If they did
care about player health. They wouldn't keep showing replays of
some guy's fingers crossing over like he was a ninja
turtle after he banked his head commentary and giving commentary
on it. Yeah, like you can see where it's locked up.
(08:28):
That's the fencing position. It's like, wait, what like like
we're giving a breakdown on this guy who clearly has
no idea what planet he is on and he's locking
up like he he just got kode basically I I
And and just the fact that they're coming out with
all this, we're gonna, you know, lay the hammer down
to nothing's gonna happen, Like what what can you possibly do?
(08:50):
And this investigation they're talking about where the NFL comes out,
and you've got Jeff Miller, who from the NFL comes
out yesterday of the day before and says, I mean, look,
it seems like they followed everything in the protocol. It
seems like they went through the process correctly. Exactly. So
if they went through the process correctly, and you can't
prove he was concussed last Sunday, what the hell are
you going to do about what happens this son or
(09:12):
what happened last night? You can't there. They can't do
anything if you can't prove that somebody cut corners or
was reckless in their evaluation of TOA to get him
back on the field last Sunday, And which, by the way,
when he did come back on the field last Sunday,
it's not like he took another hit and was wobbly
or anything like that. There's there's no proof. We all
agree something happened, but you can't prove it. And if
(09:35):
you can't prove it, I don't know what they expect
to be done here. If it doesn't fit, you must
quat great word. Let me let me ask you guys this.
Let me ask you guys this question. If if Tua
comes back, is he now like are we now judging
things based off of you know, things that have transpired.
(09:55):
So say, say six weeks from now, he's in a
game and he gets concussed. Does it is the correlation
of it connected to where we are right now? Do
we say? Because you know, I was reading up on
it a little bit after the show yesterday, they say
it takes like a year. Sometimes it takes up to
(10:16):
a year for your brain. Or if if you get
like a spinal concussion, it takes a very, very, very
long time for you to really fully recover from those
types of injuries. Final. Yeah, yeah, I mean, here's what
I know because after my second one that year, I've
referenced earlier, I went to Pittsburgh. So there's these guys.
(10:40):
Dr Maroney's a neurologist. He actually is the neurologist Steelers,
isn't it They need want to connected to the movie.
He does all of w W e's concussion evaluations. He
does all of them. He's he's the leading expert in it.
He's the one who created the impact test that I'm
sure you you remember taking on the computer. You get
(11:02):
a baseline test, you take it, then you take it
again after you've had a concussion. Him and a guy
named Mickey Collins are the ones who started that. And
so they've kind of broken a lot of the ground
at least been been um a first mover in that space.
And here's what I'll tell you is a lot of
it's changed. Do you remember when you would get a concussion,
they wanted you, um, they didn't want you to sleep.
(11:22):
They want to keep you know, make sure you woke up,
and you know, they would put some people in the
dark room to you know, make them sensitively to light.
All that kind of stuff. All that stuff's changed. Now
when you're recovering from a concussion, they want you to
try to get to back to a more normal schedule.
And part of the thought behind that's because you've got
a chemical and balance in your brain. Like literally, like
your brain is trying to heal because it's been knocked
(11:45):
around inside your skull and it's trying to you know,
get back to the to your normal chemical balance in
your brain. And so like a lot of that stuff
is like changed over the period of time. We're still
learning about it. And that's that's my point is we
still really don't know. Could it be a year before
you're fully recovered, Sure, could it be three or four
weeks for some people. Sure. There's there's studies in in
(12:06):
in the armed forces where an I e D will
blow up and you'll get some soldiers who suffered tb
I traumatic brain injury and concussions and others who don't
and they don't know if it's a makeup in their
DNA or what. Like. We there's still so much we
don't know about our own human brain and how it works.
So I like, to Jonas's point, nothing's gonna come from this,
(12:28):
but everyone's gonna everyone's gonna say. There's gonna be a
lot of rhetoric that goes along. Here's also what I
was thinking. You know, every time there's an incident that's
a bad look on the NFL that plays out publicly,
there all of a sudden, there's an overcorrection pretty quickly.
Remember that NFC title game between the Saints and Rams
that botched past interference penalty man Sean Payton showed up
(12:51):
with a Roger Goodell clown shirt from bar Stool Sports
at the Super Bowl week and next thing you know,
it's we've got to do something the Saints who are screwed,
and all of a sudden, every past interference can be reviewed.
It was a complete disaster the next year, coaches finally
got sick of it. It was there one year and
then it was gone. I just wonder, what is going
to be the overcorrection with this, because, Okay, the reality
(13:15):
of the situation is it's still a violent sport and
people are going to get cracked that that's just what
it is. So what is going to be the overcorrection here?
Because now is it. Every time somebody takes a blow
to the head, they've got to come out for a
play every time they it's not that it's worse, they're
probably gonna make them sit out the following week regardless.
And and and here's here's the truth of the matter.
(13:38):
You're gonna have more players who hide it that in
that case because they're not gonna want to sit out
the following week. So and you're gonna you're gonna see
more teams who don't want to have players who have
a concussion history on their roster for that reason, for
whatever other stuff they try to put in there. There's
there's gonna be all these sorts of things that players
look at and go yes, sorry, Like I only have
this window of time to be able to play in
(14:00):
the NFL and make money, and I know the research
and data and I don't care, and I'm still going
to do this. I'm still gonna try to play. So yeah,
it's it's my neck, it's my back, it's not a concussion.
And I know people on the outside I think that
I'm and I'm lying or making this up. I promise you.
I've seen a lot of players say a lot of
things just to try to make sure they could get
out there on the field and hide injuries. I hit
(14:22):
injuries like, there's all sorts of stuff you go to
the lengths to just to make sure the team doesn't
find out about it, because they're ultimately the ones that
are trying to not pay you as much as you're
supposed to be paid. LaVar, do you hide injuries to
get back on the field, hide injuries or play through injuries?
It's different. Well, yeah, there's a difference. There's both, they're
(14:44):
both there. I used to go get an mbr I
on my throwing shoulder and go get injections from a
separate doctor and our team doctor. You I had to
post your old labor and tear, and I didn't want
our team to know. Once you get labeled that guy,
that's you know, the clock just to ing on them
to replace you. That's that's I mean, that's just the
reality of it. If you get to the point of
(15:05):
where you're damaged goods, then that's exactly what you are.
Your goods that are damaged. And what do you do
when you have damaged goods? You replace them? So of
course you you find a way. I mean, they always
tell you. The best ability is availability. So if if
injuries start to be a reason why you're not available,
then you're going to have the same results for any
(15:27):
other reason that wouldn't have you available. And and so yeah,
of course you figure out how you can get yourself
healthy enough to play. I mean and and I don't
know that I would say I've I've hidden injuries. But
what I will say is is that with full knowledge
of what the injuries were, Um, in terms of okay
(15:50):
you have you know your knee has sprained or whatever
it may be. I certainly wasn't. I was more or
less on the dock deal, right, like, oh, he's healing quickly,
he's ahead of schedule, the swelling doesn't look his bed,
they removed the stitches. He was out on the field
running and making That was me like, yeah, LaVar is
(16:10):
on his way back, like he's ahead of schedule, right,
And I remember that that was kind of like the
end for me, Like I came back out there one
time in and I wasn't ready to come back out
and I hit a slick spot on the on the
field and during practice and I set myself back and
and then not only did I set myself back, but
then I had to go get a procedure to clean
(16:32):
my knee up again again based off of what took place. So,
I mean, yeah, we're all under the stress and the
strain and the pressure to be on that field. And
don't think for two seconds to a wasn't feeling that
stress and that pressure of making sure that he was
getting on that field. We all do. Every last one
(16:52):
of us that competes feels the pressure and the strain
of making sure not only that you're doing it for
your jobs, poorty, but you know, some of us actually
subscribe to the fact that we're doing it for our teammates,
so and and some you can take it a step further,
you're doing it for the fans. There are actually some
athletes out there that will put themselves in harm's way
(17:16):
that way so that they can perform a service for
the fans that that schair for him. So, I mean,
everybody has different motivations, but you know, yeah, we've all
been guilty of doing that. It's two pros and a
cup of Joe. Here Fox Sports Radio from the tirerac
dot Com studios, you can hang out with us. Is
always on the I Heart Radio app All right, so
coming up next, uh, there is there is a lot
(17:38):
going on this weekend in the world of football, A
lot going on in the world of football, maybe some
potential upsets as well too. We will get into that
for you here next on fs are be sure to
catch live editions of Two Pros and a Cup of
Joe with Brady Quinn, LaVar Errington, and Jonas Knocks week
days at six am Eastern three am Pacific on Fox
(17:58):
Sports Radio the I Heart Radio Two Pros and a
Cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,
Jonas knocks with you here live from the entire rack
dot Com studios. Coming up later on this hour a
little over twenty minutes from now, there's some good news,
some good news for one member of this show, well represented,
one member of this show that coming up in any
(18:21):
minutes from now. I think I think somebody's gonna be
very pleased, very happy about all this. Eight. We've got
boots on the ground coverage in Iowa City. Brady Quinn
is actually in the process of making a crop circle
for the Iowa Michigan game. As the Big noon boys
are out there in Iowa City, getting ready for the
(18:41):
game here. Any potential upset here for Iowa over Michigan.
I mean, Michigan things got a little bit scary for him.
But we're looking at a ten and a half point
spread Michigan on the road. Courtesy of DraftKings. How are
we feeling about ten and a half for Iowa and
Michigan here? What are we thinking? Well, you always hate
the hook of the half point there when you're at
that ten number. Um, I will say this. You know,
(19:01):
Michigan has not won in Iowa. I want to say
since Chad Henny was to start a quarterback. Yeah, yeah,
so a bit surprising. I mean most of you will
called last year's beat down that was in the Big
Ten Championship game. So uh, and that was one of
the worst defeats that i was suffered in this matchup.
It's typically been really close. I want to stay with
(19:23):
the exception of the Big Ten Championship game. They've all
the last few or lass three or four of all
been one score games. So look at Iowa's defense will
always allow them to be in games. Um, They've got
a couple of players on offense that I think are
are you know, difference makers Caleb Johnson, the little running
back they've got out of Hamilton, Ohio. He's a little
(19:44):
stud um. They're they're tight end lapoord. He's good um.
And and look at their quarterback and put together a
consistent game of all four quarters. They could hang around
in this thing that they really could. Iowa does this.
They did it depends day. Last year we saw it,
you know therefar. We were here for it. Yeah, they
had they just do. They had the tendency to put
(20:06):
together one of those games. They did it to Ohio
State when Urban Virus was coaching. Um, you know, they
had that big game where Noah Fan went off and
TJ Hockinson and they couldn't figure out how to stop
their tight ends. They just they pull it out of
a hat once a year for one of these big
time matchups. Questions will they be able to do? First
Michigan And by the way, Penn Stay was ranked fourth
(20:27):
last year for that game. What's what's Michigan rank right now? Ranked? Fourth? Oh? Wow,
here we go, here we go. You just said that
the line isn't as daunting as last year though. I
mean they had Tyler bomb or Tiger Tiger bomb or
bomb that goes on your legs and your knees when
you sore at at center. You know, I mean that
(20:48):
dude was a different super good for for them. So
I mean I was against right I will say I
will say this I was offensive lines, not what it
has been. And that could be a decisive mismatch because
this Mazy Smith, the cinterior defensive tackle for Michigan. He's
(21:11):
like a dancing bear. He's exactly LaVar. What's your high
school team needs? Like? He is gigantic, and he's athletic,
and he is disruptive. So it's um, it's gonna be
interesting to see how they match up because the center
right guard four Iowa have have really struggled from what
I've been watching all right now, I gotta ask you,
do you think that the woman who loves are stiff
(21:33):
armed last year? When coming out? Do you think she'll
be there? Brady? Is the setup going to be similar
to last year? How we how we feeling about? You know,
I have not yet seen the location for a set up.
I don't know that it's gonna be in the same spot.
For this reason. Last year when we had that game,
it was a three thirty kick, So it's a bit
abnormal for our show because usually we we go right
(21:55):
into the stadium or leading up the kickoff. That was
one where we did the show completely the outside. It
could be the same spot. I am really not sure. Um,
I'll have to and they identify. I would love for
you guys, the interviewer, Okay, well, I'll talk to our
producers about that. I would love to know what goes
(22:17):
what type of emotions go through your head when you
get stiff armed on National Tell I'll tell you what
kind of emotions went through your head. I was just
gonna let it die, you know, like, I don't know that.
That's something I want to bring back up. I wasn't valid, Yeah,
it wasn't valid. I know what emotions went through the
bar said. He said, I'm really going to do this.
I'm going to do this. I'm going to I'm going
(22:40):
to do this. I'm really going to do this. I
feel like this turned out better for him though that
some of those other circumstances. One of the greatest stories
ever told. I won. Well, at least you guys know
(23:01):
I have no shame. You know, I'm okay, I'm I'm
okay with telling you guys. You know, can I be honest,
I'm sad right now. I'm here in LaVar's not here
because last year we got we got to experience to
hang it out together though. Yeah, and also plus you
guys had that nice studio set up you were doing
the show. It was amazingly it was so good that
(23:25):
was that was hilarious? Was that really set the tone
for the rest of the day, LaVar? It really did?
LaVar doing a live radio show next to a box
of ajax. Literally, we were Jerry Reagan like crazy if
view and us all how long the chords were in
the extension courts and then then the ether net chord.
(23:46):
I don't know, I don't know how it worked, but
I swear to god we tied we we like roped
or tied together to chords. They weren't even connected. They
were just like roped or tied together. All right, So,
what is the signage gonna look like? What are we
getting because we've got what about Me pac Man last week?
What sort of signage that represents the show will be
showing up there this week? What do you think it
(24:08):
will be? Truck nuts? Although they've got a hashtag it
two pc O j so people know what it is.
And then if it's like somebody throwing too much, Look,
this isn't that difficult. Just draw it out on a
piece of poster board. People did it last year they
(24:28):
bought that or last week they bought that crummy poster
board from Walgreen's a little sharpie and got it done.
It took ten seconds to do. This feels like it's
pretty easy to do for them to get something done.
Signage wise, any any like any requests. Anybody got a
request of a show, slogan or a theme you want
thrown up there on a sign anything out there? I
(24:49):
want to ask the fine people of Iowa. We have
a huge audience in Iowa. I'm gonna tweet it to you,
but let's do it through the tweeter. Yeah, but we
gotta see Okay, you want somebody to tweet into ye
some crowd participation, you know, all right? So do you
want to tweet it out from the Fox Sports Radio
Twitter account? Do you want to send that out lead
(25:10):
somebody who's actually got some pull, Because if I tweeted,
somebody will just call me a homophobic slur. So I
don't want to want to go down to have it
just that works? Uh, Leady, we want to send that
out via the Fox Sports Radio Twitter account. What you
know what show them sign? Should we throw up for
behind Brady? A big Neon kickoff? Yeah? A little survey
(25:30):
do that? Alright? I'm into it, and don't throw up
the hooks because we don't want to piss people off.
According to La Bar, you want to piss off the
wrong people. It's gotta be careful there. All right. It
is two pros and a couple of college campus You
don't you don't want to joking around with throwing up books. Yeah,
not a good idea. Some some cats don't play around about,
(25:50):
especially in Iowa. Man, that would be a good one.
I'm going to all right, um, it is two pros
and a cup of joe. Here on FS are LaVar, Arrington, Brady, Quinn,
Jonas knocks. If somebody's gonna be very pleased about some
information we're going to pass along here coming up shortly,
(26:10):
but for all the latest from around the world of sports.
We turned it over to the man himself, the one,
the only, Edmund fffing Garcia. That's not actually my middle name,
but it is. It is interesting. What what sign do
you want held up at Big New and kickoff anything
you want from the show. Thrown out there question. I
hadn't really considered it, to be honest with you. We've
(26:32):
got great We've got great traps here. You don't. You
don't lay up at night thinking about what's gonna be?
What it signs? Kickoff? Come on, Eddie? Uh you know
occasionally I do. Yeah, I still have to come with
something good though. I uh, you know the pac Man thing,
was that actually confirmed? We confirmed that? Yeah it was.
I saw it. That's good, all right. The problem is,
(26:57):
like I laugh at at Everyone's looking at me and
they're like, are you laughing? I'm like, that's too long
to explain. You have to explain to what seat of
the movie it is where? And then have you explain it?
Are they're really going to get it and be like,
oh all right. Sean Penn walks in and sees LaVar
leave the room and goes, what happen here? Wow? Roberto
(27:18):
you gonna let him get away with that? Come on?
That was messed up, horrible. I I apologize on the
at there you go. We're talking about we've talked about
it before. Maybe a maybe a sign that says LaVar
sing Coulio or I don't know something that Hey LaVar
(27:40):
about LaVar o No, all right, I'll think about it
too many. Maybe I'll have a better, better idea for
you the Thursday, I football last night? Cheese? Right? How
about that one? That's fair? Okay, all right, that's fair.
(28:05):
I mean I think that's you know, I think you
hit the button on that as well too. You know,
if you want to options, what do you mean? You know,
maybe hey, burto what's on TV or something like that
Michael Douglas sign the Michael Douglas will be a good one,
how tagaga? Yeah, or any movie Michael Douglas is in.
(28:27):
I mean, we don't mean, we don't want to get
in trouble. We don't want to have Brady have to
explain to his boss is the hooling in he hangs
out with during the week. I don't think I'm gonna
get in trouble for someone else's side, Like, why would
I get in trouble for that, Jonice? Because you're promoting
it on your radio show. You're you're asking for promoting it,
You're promoting it. I'm here. We're a team man, all right.
(28:49):
Thursday Night Football, Cincinnati Bengals Dolphins. Cincinnati with the fifteen
victory over Miami. Joe Burrow one passing, two sixty seven
yards too touchdowns. He had a nice fifty nine yard
bomb the t Higgins. Meanwhile, though the story that's gonna
be talked about most of the day does not involve
the Bengals, all due respect to them, It is gonna
(29:10):
be about quarterback to a Tongue of Bloa from Miami,
who was knocked out of this game with a concussion
in the second quarter. He was taken off on a
stretcher to a local hospital. The good news is he
was released from the hospital. He did travel back with
the team to Miami. Uh. It was Joe Burrow. We
talked about his game afterwards. He was asked about two.
A's always scary when somebody goes down like that. You know,
(29:30):
we play a dangerous game. We know something like that
can happen at any time, but it's always scary when
it does. You know. They told me that he's flying
back with the team, so that's great news. Hopefully he
can get a speedy recovery. I'm gonna text maprom the game,
see how he's doing. Hopefully he can come back fast.
So this isn't NFL two and two. With that win,
that's the first loss from Miami. They dropped to three
and one on the season. A couple of the notes
(29:51):
from the NFL Stints. Quarterback Jameis Winston miss practice for
the second straight day because of his back issue. Andy
Dalton will start against the Vikings in London if Winston
can't go, and that Chiefs Bucks games Sunday night in Tampa.
It is ago for Tampa. The Bucks, who relocated relocated
their players, coaches, and staff and families to Miami. Uh
they'll be heading back to Tampa to play in that
(30:11):
game after practice. Later today, in baseball, we had the
Philly Is being shut out but the Cubs to nothing.
That's five losses in a row and seven of ten
for Philadelphia. The Brewers they can't take advantage because they
lost at home to the Marlins four to two, so
Philadelphia is still holding onto a half game lead over
Milwaukee for the final wild card spot in the National League.
The Mariners beat the Rangers ten to nine in ten ending,
(30:31):
so Seattle's magic number to clincher postseason spotting is at one.
They haven't been in the playoffs in baseball since two
thousand one. The Orioles help them out by losing to
the Red Sox five to three. Baltimore's five out of
a wild card spot in the American League, and with
that loss for Baltimore, they have clinched a playoff spot
for the Toronto Blue Jays. Coming up more baseball later
today with the Atlanta Braves hosting a big series against
(30:52):
the New York Mets. And that's our Discover Card key matchup,

on this show. They're gonna be very happy about this,
so we'll get to that. I do want to mention
this though, that's kind of kind of a disrespectful and
and I'm a little bit surprised that Joe Burrow would
say that post game, you know, saying that he was
going to text to after the game, knowing that to
A clearly couldn't text with the way that his hands
(31:34):
were locked up, Like, I just think he couldn't leave
him a message, Brokay, No, No, he could text it
to him and just when when he's ready, it was there.
It's the time stamp, date stamp that matters. Like that,
it showed that you cared, So don't respond right away,
but as soon as you know, all right, I just
want to make sure it's now I listen. I'm just
(31:57):

I mean he's just been really aggressive today with all that.
I can't I'm not allowed to feel it, you know,
(33:24):
hit the button on the disrespect man. It's my jam,
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, my jam. All right,
what movie is this? What soundtrack is this from? I
can tell you who the artist is Ice Chest. Okay, okay,
(33:44):
it's how's some racist going down a very very very
interesting uh dead in lane. To this day, there's nothing
better that's seeing him walk out of that suite, back
of the O dot Co just smoke. It's just everyone's sharing.
(34:04):
It's like, all right, he's here, the Cube say man,
And then I was like, yes, trust me our bench
the whole time. Guys like man, that smells like some
good week. By the way, you talk about a guy
who's had a great career, not even just from music
to acting to producing to everything he did afterwards, that
(34:27):
guy's had a hell of a run. Ice Cube's like
it's been fantas he had the he's just one of
the cooler dudes too, by the way. Yeah, yeah, it's been.
That's that's been. And then they remember they showed that movie.
It was years ago. They where they were talking about
just you know n w A and how those guys
all kind of veered off into different directions and he
(34:48):
had a path. He was like, I want to go
in this direction. I think I can do more. And
then he became an actor and did all this stuff
and he's doing like family comedies and stuff like that. So,
yeah's hell of a run by him. Good for him
on the bar, I know what I'm talking about. By
the children movies, Yeah, the American Dreamers. It's a it's
(35:09):
a weird twist. We are brought to you by Discover.
We could talk about how complicated other banks make it
to Redeemed credit card awards, where we can talk about
how it Discover. You can redeem your rewards for cash
in any amount at any time you talk about amazing
learn more discover dot com slash Redeemed Rewards terms apply.
Coming up top the next hour. Little over ten minutes
from now, you're going to hear somebody try and calm
you down. They're gonna try and calm you down over
(35:30):
a situation in the NFL. So we'll have that for
you again a little over ten minutes from now on
fs R, it's two pros and a cup of Joe
with you here on Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady
Quinn Jonas knocks. All right. So, the Players Tribune recently
did a survey in which they asked sixty eight former
FBS players who are on a roster at some point
(35:54):
over the past two decades about the most difficult places
to play in college football. All right, So there's there's
a couple of things that we're working with here. There
are three different categories, right. Category one is the toughest
road game environment. Category two is the toughest road game tradition,
and category three is the fan bases that cancel out
(36:16):
home field advantage by traveling better than any others. All Right,
So what would you guys say is the best traveling
fan base according to this small sample size, best traveling
fan base in college football? If you had to guess,
what would you say? Ohio State? Brady, Yeah, Ohio State's
(36:37):
got to be up there, number one. It's number one,
Ohio States number one, followed by Georgia, Clemson, Oregon, and Alabama.
So that so that is your top five. So when
it comes to toughest road game traditions, Brady, the infamous
pink locker room at the University of Iowa's number one.
(36:58):
Al Right. So I don't know why a pink locker
room would would really throw anybody off. I mean pink, Yeah, Well,
would go look at the history of upsets in Iowa
City because of a pink locker room? Yeah, I don't know,
is it a small locker room. I'll put it this way.
(37:20):
It's not big. Yeah, um, LaVar. When Jonas for his
pink pants to the golf outing, his group played awful.
They could not perform. They weren't they weren't up to
their their highest performance. I think in part because of
Jonas is distracting pink pants or or that, or or
Gus who was too busy talking about other things from
(37:42):
a previous night. If we want to, like tell he
wanted some spaghetti that night, he did. He wanted to
eat some, and he wanted some age spaghetti too. So
if we're gonna if we're gonna tell, tell the truth here,
that is that that's really what was going on there.
So the pink locker room in Iowa is number one,
followed by jump around at Wisconsin, LaVar, you've to that
was a problem. That was a little bit of a problem.
(38:06):
And then enter Sandman at Virginia Tech is number three,
which is awesome every time they do it, and then
number four the white out of Penn State. The white
out of Penn State is number four in this listle bar,
how bad it are we getting a white out? Hi?
Very nice? Yeah, I would think that it would be higher. Okay,
(38:26):
the hardest, hardest environment to play in. That's definitely a
hard environment to play. Are they going to do a
white out for Ohio State when they go there for
your stripe out? That's a stripe out game? What do
you mean a stripe Yeah, they have to do this stuff. Yeah.
I think if Fox has it, it'll be a newon
game because they have the World Series that night. Oh okay,
(38:50):
it's already labeled the stripe out game though, so it's
not a white what is it? What is it? Stripe out?
The stripe Out will be blue and white, so you'll
see stripes like they'll have the the seats coated where
you wear blue and knee seats you wear white nose seats.
And then when you see the stadium, because we pack
our stadium every you know, every bit pack it out,
(39:11):
so you'll see blue LaVar. What would you be wearing? Yeah, um,
that's a great question. I'll probably I'll probably have on
a blue um Hall of Fame UM hoodie with my
face on it. Probably the type of dude I am too, Like,
I'm the type of dude that will wear a commemorative
hoodie with my face on it. With my own face
(39:33):
on it, tumble. I mean, don't you want somebody who's
down to earth? I do. That's when Lavaro you'll say
something like that, Jon, because that's humble or that's relatable.
It is like, who wouldn't want to listen if I was,
if I was going to the Hall of Fame, I
(39:54):
would wash myself. The cod Pod story from last week,
I'll never free yet of all the things, a hurricane,
the Cords, they perished, dead Man Man by the way,
(40:21):
the last category toughest road game environment bringing up the rear.
Number four Michigan, Texas, Ohio, State, three is Oregon, two
is l s U and number one you bet your
assets Penn State, LaVar, you called your shot. Damn Penn State.
There you go, number one. Damn throw an extra one
(40:43):
on that you don't you get get eleven? Throw up,
burn out. Yeah. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports
