Sports Radio. Yeah, yeah, throw them up, burn On, throw
(00:49):
them up? Yeah? What about Lee? Throw him up? Lee,
throw them up? Come on, Lee? Give us a shot. Lee? Yeah,
good job, Brady, come on, come on. I throw them off?
Not not my thing. Man. If I were to say
(01:11):
it what I just thought about Lee's yeah, I would
probably go, oh no, what did have to do it?
You gotta be careful around here these days. Yeah. No,
I wasn't racist. It was definitely. Yeah, it wasn't good.
I'll tell you. I was watching the Kobe documentary. He
was throwing them hooks up. Yeah he was. And by
(01:32):
the way, is the uh did it have something to
do with the fact that that you could no longer
call Lee Roy after hearing him talking like that. I mean,
I'm gonna just leave it alone. I mean, you're the
only one that could actually like talk about that openly
on the air. I think the restaurants will be canceled. Uh, well,
(01:52):
you're not gonna bait me into saying anything that's gonna
get me canceled. Now, you see they going after Kanye,
you know what I mean, going after him. Everybody's running away. Yeah,
it's like I saw a school shut down. He lost,
(02:15):
was a Jalen Brown, Aaron Donald both left. Adidas is gone,
he is, So now what do they do with the sketchers? Yeah,
they escorted him out, So what did so what did
they do? What do they do with the easies? Are
those just gone to I don't know, man, because that's
like it was a big part of Adidas. Well, I
think the other issue is, isn't Antonio Brown the president
(02:37):
of Donda. Yeah? Well, I mean if the ship is sinking,
I know I want Antonio Brown driving it, that's for sure.
He'll get us back to back to service. He knows
how to get out of the water, you know, and
put his butt up to day. That is a great point.
They ain't going drowned. They ain't going drowned. Yeah, that
is a great point. And he's always got a buoye
(02:58):
on him. You know, let's say it's a great it's
just a great point. Thank you. What's wrong with you? Man?
I just I don't know. We're just talking to listen,
we're talking about, you know, the current events in today's
sports and popular floating movie. I don't even know how
that makes any sense. Honestly, it's so dumpe, but it's funny.
(03:21):
It's so I get. I mean, I get what you're
saying because it was it was it was an add
on to what I said earlier. I get what you're saying.
It's just it's just stupid. Let's drow with you. Man.
Should be a professional. You celebrate you in state college
(03:42):
this weekend. That's how you want to go out. Come on, man,
be a professional. Dare you? Ah? It is too pros
company's birthday, Yeah, it's Brady's birthday, old man? Father? Is
that Patrick Mahomes? That's the cookie moms. That's character all right.
(04:02):
We are a company alive from the ti irac dot

So we have got a situation at quarterback with the
New England Patriots Bill Belichick. Uh, now you're going to
hear his initial comments. This was before some reports came
(04:26):
out of New England. But we must hear this thrilling,
just revolutionary breakdown of the quarterback situation in New England.
Here was Bill Belichick with the media yesterday. Have you
named a certain quarterback for this? On the end? Almost?
So it goes here today? Peplen, how you got a
quarterback rotation? Again? We'll see how it goes through? Is
(04:51):
that something that would be We're not we're not doing
anything here, we haven't practiced. We're gonna go out and
we're gonna see how it goes today. All right, what
will decide it? Will see how it goes today. What
you have to see today. We'll see how it goes today. Okay.
So they went and saw how it went today, and
according to Field Yates of ESPN, mac Jones took majority
(05:13):
of the snaps in practice, the number that was thrown out.
There was quote unquote of the snaps and practice, And
so the report is that Mac Jones will be the
starting quarterback this weekend at the Jets, which only makes
what the hell Monday night was that much more confusing
now that they're going back to Mac Jones. So the
(05:34):
revolving door a quarterback here with the New England Patriots
continues on. But we're going to get the Mac attack
back under center against those New York Jets. How about
it up? Come on now. I mean, look, I don't
know how you guys feel about this. Um. Look, Bailey
Snappy has done fine. It's just he's not the guy
they need to figure out what the future holds. It's
Mac Jones. The rest of this season needs to be
(05:57):
Mac Jones. If you go back and look at last year, Yes,
he took them to the playoffs. I thought he played
the best of any of the rookie quarterbacks. Book things
tailed off a bit towards the end of the season,
and I think for two reasons, One to figure out
what you have in Mac and how he continues on
the rest of the season given that he didn't get
off to the best start, but also from Matt Patricia.
(06:18):
You know he's calling plays. You've got a guy in
their different personality, you know, different skill set. It's it's
similar to Zappies, but there are strengths and weaknesses with
each that are different. You gotta allow those two to
kind of go through the course of the season together.
I always think it's hard on a coach if you're
bringing in two different guys, different styles of as far
as what they'd like to throw, how they see the game.
(06:38):
So I just think for this team in general, there
needs to be some stability. Like the one thing of
New England is it's always that matra of do your job,
you know, don't be a distraction. This is really becoming
a distraction. But it's born out of Bill Belichick creating it,
which is shocking because he's never the guy to do
it usually and he's always asking his players not to
(07:02):
be a distraction, and now he is creating this distraction.
I think that's pretty interesting and it's pretty telling as well.
I just continue to be curious, is it an injury?
It does mac Jones have something going on that Belichick
doesn't want to disclose. Because I just can't bring myself
(07:26):
to accepting that Bill Belichick is being a distraction. I can't.
I can't. I can't bring myself to comprehending why he
would handle something in a way that would compromise what
what he's built or what he's trying to get done
(07:46):
um with his team. It makes me think there's something
else there, Like I just try to read. Like I
told you guys the first time, Like when he came out,
he was like, you know, he said something, and it
was it was you know, he says very little, and
then that very little that he said it made me
feel like, Okay, we gotta wait and see how Mac does.
(08:07):
It was something the way he said it made me
feel like it was his health. And again he's like,
all right, we haven't practiced yet, so we got to
see how it goes. It's almost like he's answering your question.
He's not giving you all of the detail so that
you don't have the detail of it, which he's always done.
(08:28):
But is there something that's lying beneath that? If you
were to sit there and say I had that piece
of information and be like okay, I get it, Like
and I feel like there's something to do with Max's health.
I could be wrong, but my logic does not want
to rest on the fact that Bill Belichick is playing
(08:48):
his hand incorrectly and creating confusion for his team. Here's
why I don't I don't know that I buy the
health aspect of it, because if if you was that
banged up and Belichick was concerned about him, why did
you start him on Monday night? Like why why would
you even have put out I mean, guys that are
panged up start though, Jonas like you don't. Everybody isn't
(09:09):
going to be In fact, nobody is generally, you know,
at this point in time during the during the season,
So there could be something that is impacting his play
and you're still seeing if he can do it. I mean,
it kind of goes to the point you just kind
of answered it like I gotta see what he can do.
(09:30):
But then you saw what he could do, you took
him out, And then after the game he says, I
would have put mac Jones in there back in the
game had the score been closer. Okay, if his health
was an issue, then why would you have put him
back into be health that could be health related, But
that's that's also hypothetical. Hypothetical I can't talk about hypothetically.
(09:50):
You gotta keep that in mind that that is a
that is a great point. Also, by the way, caveat,
that's not a caveat, it's a hypothetical. By the way,
what what can we get a clear answer on the
skycam drama? Did no, no, no no, no. We're all taking
a vote, all right, LaVar, I assume you saw this video. Yeah, okay,
(10:12):
uh Lee, Roberto Eddie, we get we get all of
us to weigh it on this, because I will start
off by saying, it looked like that ball hit the wire,
all right, And the only thing I don't know is
if it altered the trajectory or the direction of the
ball enough to really impact whether or not it was
going to be picked. But it looked like it hit
(10:33):
the wire, unless it's that's some sort of you know,
optical illusion or something. No. I kind of fell on
the same same conclusion. I mean, but okay, it happens,
So what do you do? Well, because there's some people
that say, like ESPN released a statement that said, quote
this pass from Mac Jones did not hit ESPN skycam wiring.
(10:56):
The video creates a false impression, but in reality, the
sky came wire was more than fifteen feet above the ball,
and our sky cam system followed all NFL protocols. Well,
then how the hell the ball change directions? Was there
a seagull that flew over that they that somebody cropped
out of the video, and and that's why the ball
adjusted a little bit. It looked like it hit it.
(11:17):
I just so so I believe it hit it as well.
All right, but here's my question, what do you do? Like,
what are you going to take away the skycams? Now? Well,
it just it's funny because basically, if this is true,
Matt Jones got benched because a football hit a skycam cable,
(11:41):
and so now it maybe Belichick is starting Mac Jones
this week because he realized I made a mistake. I
didn't realize it hit a skycam cable. He should have
turned on the Unsolved Mysteries dip on this one, but
we didn't. But we didn't create the conspiracy though, like
this is you know somebody else spotted this video. It
just I don't know how ow the ball changes directions
(12:02):
if nothing hit it, it looked like it hit the
sky cam. Still a great interception, man, I don't doubt
that but I'm just saying, I don't know that it's
an interception if the wires not there, That's all I'm saying.
And then and then you're probably not looking at maybe
Mac john stays in the game, who knows how we're
talking about the rest of this and isn't even a
(12:22):
distraction at this point. I mean, it's a great interception,
But what an amazing play by defender. We are Quam
brisker man. Yeah, I forgot that nutshot it look which
was intentional. I don't buy for a second that Mac
Jones wasn't trying to kick him in the in the
short and curlies and what a blowtorch or cleats to
(12:47):
uh to the downstairs. Yeah, I'm telling you because like
depending on is gonna feel like a blowtorch? Yeah, and
depending on never I don't want to get into it.
And just there you know that front cleek, could you know,
grab onto something? You know? Potentially depending on how warm
(13:08):
it is and how you know, I mean, if you're
if you're later on late stages in your career, if
you're if you're an older gentleman, uh, more likely it's
gonna grab and pull something down with it. You know
what I mean, just saying, or if you're European, god forbid,
I just I'm just saying, just saying, there's there's a
(13:29):
lot of risks out there. That was a line and
just crossed me. That was that was kind of a cancel.
That was a cancela Please, I don't know better delete
that from the Uh Well, did Lee, Bruno and Eddie
vote on this? Do you guys think hit the skycam cable? Eddie,
do you think get hit the skycam cable? This mac
(13:49):
Jones interception on Monday night? Yeah? See there's three three nothing.
I haven't seen the video. You haven't seen the video, right? Uh? Lee,
you might have been drunk when you saw the video,
But what did you think? I do not think it
hit the cable. I think the camera is behind. I
think the you're seeing it at a frame rate and
(14:10):
it makes an optical illusion to make it look like
But this was a night where you probably were drunk.
So take that into consideration. Can we find a way
of getting Roberto the ability right? Now? Burn up? So Lee,
pull it up? All right? So you gottah alright, get
up browsers and now see that. What what do you
(14:30):
think Eddie, Wow, wow, Burto is looking Yeah Eddie, Eddie said,
you said it's yeah, it's spinning and then it slightly
tilts after it comes in contact with I love how
Lee tried that. You gotta you don't think it hit it?
Frame rate coming here and now I got a video. Yeah,
(14:53):
you know what to see that? What do you mean
frame rate? The ball change directions? Not change direction. Actually
it changes the spin like you can see it subtly,
like change the spin of the ball. No, I'm not
seeing what you guys are seeing. Yeah, well again you know,
(15:16):
describe what you're seeing because it is radio. So let's
you know, we gotta, you know, pay attention to that. Well,
you can see it's a judging picture to begin with
it even when it comes down and you see a
juttery picture. When you see juttery, yeah, it's a it's
a technical term jutter when you see the players come down.
When you see the come down to the players, the
players are it's judging as well. So when it actually
(15:37):
hits the peak of its arc and comes down, it
has a natural jutter, so it looks like it had
a sudden change of trajectory. Jute term. Picking it up
right now, because Lee's dad is connected to Sometimes it's
called jitter, but it's jutter definitely, that's not right. I'm
going with Lee on this. I totally changed my mom.
(15:57):
Come on the var Yeah, I'm gonna jump on his
bandwagon because his explanation was so sound and so solid
that even if he's wrong, I'm giving you to because
you hit me with words I've never heard and and
you know what, Yeah, general, generally frame rate try to
(16:22):
speculate have a conspiracy here, and you got to like
come in with with logic and reason. I mean you
you know these sky cams are always behind the quarterback. Anyway,
the camera would have to be so low for the
to hit the wire. All right, I don't know intelligent,
thank you. Well, we also don't know how many they have.
Sometimes there's two. There's a skycam, there's what they call
(16:43):
a spider cam um and then also depends on how
they move it during the play, wires do get in
the way. I can promise you that all the way
up until the last minute, it's just there. You sounded
super intelligent. And then, by the way, for those of
you that are looking to prove that lockness is real,
(17:04):
don't invite Lee on the boat trip because I'll throw
that wrench into that whole plan, isn't that the boy? Yeah,
that's good. That is good. By the way, let me
tell you what is reel the Breeders Cup, the Breeders Burno,
what's real today? The weather Man? By the way, The

and Jonas knock sweek days at six am Eastern three

Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Here on Fox
Sports radio coming up a little over fifteen minutes from now.
(18:11):
We do have a decision at quarterback for one team
in the NFL. We'll get into that for you here
on fs ARE, But right now, let's turn it over
to Albert Brier, senior NFL reporter at the mm QB.
You can get him on Twitter at Albert Brier. Albert,
what's happening? How the hell's your Thursday? Oh? Great? I
guess congratulations are in order? Right? Buvars that? Right? Oh well,
(18:32):
thank you? That's right time? All right, well, all cheating inside.
That's that's fantastic. That's us very well, the weekend of
us playing your alma mater. And you know, I have
to maintain the belief that we can shock the world.
But you know, I'm glad you gets brought it up.
(18:54):
But Albert, I'll just get right to it. Um, like
just you know, your best guests here, do you believe
Eve that this weekend Ohio State might be better than
Penn State by like, I don't know, more than fifteen
and a half points. Do you think that that's that's
going to be? How this looks like? You know, I
you know, I said I always you know, I always
love when you pull these numbers out of the year, Jones, I, Um,
(19:17):
you know, I think Penn State has always been a
almost like invariably over the last I think if you
look like since James Franklin has been there, at least
for one reason or another, Penn State gives a harder
time than anybody else in them. So I don't know
why it is they almost never win, but it's usually
(19:39):
it's usually like a really tough no. But it's true,
it's usually a tough, competitive game. And again, like and
I think part of it's like they're closer in talent
than than most other teams in the conference. That's obviously
part of it. But like if you look at like
even like Michigan, like the Michigan games are way more
lopsided than the Penn State games. So I would say
fifteen is probably it around the number? You know, I
(20:01):
would say, uh, I would say, maybe this is a
stay away week, Jonas. If you're talking about numbers, go
ahead and drop that down here. All right, Very good? Yeah,
that's good. That was happening in New England right now. Um,
it's I mean, Brady, honestly, it's messy. I I don't
you know, I I I think part of it is
(20:23):
Um kind of the off season Mac hat and kind
of who Mac is as a player. And I don't
know if you know, you guys have been around him
at all, but Mac had this reputation at Alabama, and
you know, I think it carried over to New England.
He's a big, y guy. He wants to know why
you're doing everything. It's part of what makes him really
good as a quarterback. UM. You know, but I think
(20:43):
there was a lot of questioning of things that we're
going on there, whether it's the choice of coaches on
the offensive side of the ball, the lack of a
run that they the lack of a run a Phill
O'Brien um to replace Josh McDaniels, the fact that they
were sort of reconstructing the offense and not building on
what he did as a rookie. UM. You know, there
definitely was friction there, and then there was friction over
the handling of the injury. Injury too, and whether or
(21:05):
not he was going to get the tight rope surgery,
and so I think all that sort of played into
the way things played out, you know, over the last
three or four weeks, where Bill basically refused to say
when he's healthy, he's getting his job back. And then
Zappy started playing well, and I think that only so
that that only further complicated it, and that all came
(21:25):
to a head on Monday night when um, yes, you know,
it's part of the plan to play both guys, but
it's like sort of like one of those if it
looks like a duck and it walks like a duck
at the duck type of things, right like if that
did that look like a benching, you know, and then
he comes out like right after he throws a pick,
and then they don't put him back in. You know.
(21:47):
It's just it was a weird situation that way, and
I think because of all the things leading up to it, um,
the the situation between team and quarterback was already a
little bit sideways, uh you know, and I think it
left a lot of the other players in that locker
room confused over where where things stand. And so, um,
(22:07):
you know, I'll be interested to see what happens when
Bill talks today because I think it would behoove the
Patriots to, you know, have sort of a united front
behind Mac Jones now going forward, and let everybody know
who their quarterback is. Um. But we've certainly seen in
the past where you know, Bill has refused, refused to
do these sorts of things to try to motivate or
(22:28):
push players. It just it just keeps popping up to
me that it's health related. Albert, Like, Yeah, Belichick is
thick and how he does his his interviews, and I
get that, but he's also sensible and if you're listening
to him, it almost sounds as though he's telling you
(22:50):
and his short answers that we're going to wait and
see if Mac is healthy enough to do it. One interception.
That's not that's not sensible to say I'm going to
take you out, bench you because you threw one interception
and that's why you're coming out. There has to be
something more to this. Yeah, I you know what, LaVar
(23:11):
and I you know, it's interesting. I talked to a
couple of Bears coaches afterwards and and you guys know this,
like teams watched the other team in the warm ups
to yeah, see how how players are moving around and stuff,
and um, you know, I know talking to some of
the Bears coaches afterwards, they watched Mac and warmups and
they said he wasn't moving down great, and then you know,
(23:34):
one of them pointed out to me, Now, Mac did
run a couple of times, but Mac has done things
in the past where it almost was like he's proved
trying to prove a point with what he does. Like
when Kendrick Boorne, you know who's you know, one of
their best receivers. Uh, you know, it was sort of
in a weird spot with the coaches earlier in the
year and wasn't playing very much. When he gets in
the lineup, like Mac almost immediately would go to him
(23:56):
with the ball almost right away, as if to send
a message to the coaches, keep this guy in here.
I want this guy in the game. Um. And I
think you know you sort of saw that on Monday
night too, like where he ran a couple of times
early in that game, almost as if to say I'm healthy.
But when I you know, again talking to the Bears
coaches about this, there was a stack that Mac took
(24:17):
where you know, like they were saying, like he moved
forward fine, but the way he's moving laterally wasn't great.
And there was a stack he took in the game
where they said that like it almost looked like a
crumpled and you know they were sort of wondering, is
that when the Patriots were like, oh, you know, like
maybe he shouldn't be out there. So you know, it's
certainly possible. What you're saying with our is the case
(24:39):
where they you know, maybe got it in the game
and looked at him and said, you know, maybe he
can't send for himself that you know he's that great. Huh.
It's it's a drop we play Albert when Carl Lewis realizes, Yeah,
when Carl Lewis realizes he's not performing well, kind of
an oh moment, Yeah I miss said I miss that,
(25:01):
but no, no, no. All I was saying was like
just you know, it's it's interesting because you had those
moments on Monday night. But then, you know, the flip
side of it is that, you know, on Wednesday, yesterday,
he's not on the injury report at all, you know,
and generally like if a guy is banged up on
a Monday night, they aren't magically going to like just
completely be healed and off the off the injury report
(25:22):
altogether on Wednesday. So the whole thing is sort of weird.
It's Albert Brier joining us here on Fox Sports Radio,
senior NFL reporter at the MMQB. You can get him
on Twitter at Albert Brier. So we saw a trade
done yesterday. Obviously we talked about the McCaffrey deal. Last week,
we saw the Robert Quinn trade done. He's now a
Philadelphia Eagle for a fourth round pick from the Bears. Um,
(25:45):
what is the biggest potential trade that is being rumored
out there from people you've talked to? Well, I think
the Bears are going to get some more calls on
their veteran defensive players. So, um, Eddie Jackson, Kwan Smith, Like,
I think you're gonna hear teams are going to make
calls on them. Um, the you know, the Broncos if
(26:07):
they lose on Sunday and and and um in h
in London. I certainly think, you know, Bradley Chubb is
gonna be a name that you're gonna hear a lot,
you know, and he's in a contract here do they
move Bradley Chubb? Who's you know, a young premier pass
rusher if you're another team, if you're another team, like
you know, he's a guy who you can put the
(26:28):
franchise tag on and signed to a long term deal
if you if you're able to acquire him. The Carolina guys,
you know, I don't think they're trading any of the
young players um, but they'll certainly get calls on guys
like you know, Brian Burns and d J. Moore and
Derek Brown and J. C. Horne. Um. Again, I think
that they'd rather keep those guys um barring like a
(26:48):
you know, somebody bringing King's ransom for one of them.
The team to me that I think it's going to
sort of be the interesting one to watch is the
Indianapolis Colts. UM. And you see what they've done and
is going to Sam Wellinger. And I know some people
who know Jim or say pretty well, who have you
know watched all of this over the last couple of
days and seeing how he kind of pushed the button
(27:09):
on them making the quarterback switch. And I know there
are at least a couple of people convinced that the
reason he did this is he's sick of the quarterback
care so and he wants them to find a younger
quarterback and like by putting Sam Ellinger in there, this
goes one of two ways this either you have a
revelation and a guy they really like in the buildings
(27:30):
that might be a little physically limited and Sam Ellinger
and if it works great, If it doesn't, you're going
to be one of the worst teams in the league
and maybe you're picking high next year and then you
can get one of the quarterbacks in the draft. And
so that puts the Colts in a really interesting spot
ahead of the trade deadline where if you're another team,
now do you look at them and do you say,
(27:50):
do we make a phone call and see if Michael
Pittman or Bobbioka, Riki or DeForest Bucker one of these
guys is available. Yeah, as I love Bobbioki. Let me
ask you this, Albert, you want to go back to
the Broncos. Not so much about Russell Wilson doing high
knees down the aisle of the plan, even though I'm
(28:13):
would you guys be weirded out of you? Would you
guys be weird out if you woke up on a
team flight you saw the quarterback going down the aisle
doing the highknees. I think that I think that's the
that's the first sign on a plane that I would
think like, oh, our our team's got some issues. Like
if that's what we're focused on right now, we've got
some problems. Um. I do want to ask you about
(28:35):
Nathaniel Hackett because you're talking about, well if if they
lose this one in London, Uh, and there are an
underdog I believe, and you know they start, you know,
peeling off pieces like Bradley Chubb, who's a good player.
I kind of look at it, think their defense is
the only thing that's kept them in games this year.
How how could you move on from a guy you
drafted that's that's looking to be the part right now,
(28:57):
especially if you're George Payton, if you're Nathaniel Hackett, like,
that's a piece that I probably don't want to part
ways with. And I but again, if you're Nathaniel Hackett, like,
how how hot is that seat right now? Well? And
there are a couple of pieces to it. I mean
the first thing you know, Brady with with Bradley Chubb
would be the contract situation. And if you don't think
(29:20):
you're going to be able to lock him up long term,
and somebody comes to you with a high with a
couple of high picks and You're already lacking picks now
because of the Russell Wilson trade, right, you don't have
a one or two next year. That's where you would
think about it, you know. Um Now, I would argue,
you know, what the contract you did for Russell Wilson,
You're in a win now spot and you've got a
(29:41):
bunch of win now players, so, um, you know that
that's sort of I think where that would be. It's like,
what do you think about your ability to sign Bradley
Chuff long term? Is it gonna work there? And if
you don't, you know, I could see where maybe you
would consider if it was a huge offer, where you
might do it. Um. You know. I for Nathaniel Hackett's
job security, I I think he's a really good coach.
(30:04):
I think he's an impossible situation because new owners came in,
they have no investment in him, they didn't hire him.
They've got I mean, I mean literally like some of
the deepest pockets in the country. Right it's the Waltons
so like and you know, if you look at like
the different pieces they've got in place, like Nathaniel Hackett
(30:25):
and George Peyton, the general manager. You know, again the
guys who can be pretty good at those jobs are
movable pieces for you. Russell Wilson is an immovable piece.
And so if this doesn't work the rest of the
year and there's tension and you know, all this stuff
you've given Russell, like you you can't kind of come
off of that position and you have to do something.
(30:48):
You know, maybe the contract that you eat is Nathaniel
Hackett's contract, especially if things are in a weird spot
between he and the quarterbacks. Um, it's just the problem
here about the Robin here, Brady, is they're just so
deeply invested in Russell. I mean, from the fact that
the guy's got his own office in the building to
the effect they've hired a bunch of his staff to
(31:09):
work there. I mean, it is it is his operation,
and um, you know, I I think it's really gonna
be hard for the organization anytime soon to detach itself
from that. So really, you know, what they have to
do here is what's best for Russell Wilson. And um,
(31:29):
you know, if Russell Wilson can't be the player that
he was in Seattle three or four years ago, well, God,
is that a tough place to be. And it's not great.
Not not a great place for people in the front
office of coaching staff to be either, because you know,
if his play doesn't get better, we know where the
finger is gonna be pointed. Uh. He's Albert Brier, senior
NFL reporter at the mm Q. He can get about
(31:51):
Twitter at Albert Brier. Albert, we got about twenty seconds,
but just wanted to thank you, um for obviously popping
on to celebrate Brady Quinn's birth day. It means a
lot to break for the whole show, that right, Happy
birthday break. Yeah, so I just want to make sure
we go, huh, just another day, Albert. I respect that
(32:15):
somebody else had to tell me that though, because I
I think it's weird when any grown man tells anybody
it's their birthday. So, I mean, I give give give
a shout out to Sea Bready for your birthday. And
also we're not telling anybody it's your birthday. Yeah, I
should have taken the day off so I don't have
to talk. I mean it's either that or celebrate Lonzo
(32:35):
Ball's birthday. I mean they share birthday. So we're just
trying to uh, we're trying to figure you don't know,
don't you don't you guys think it's weird when when
a grown man tells anybody else their birthday. Yes, right, good,
it's well. I always forget Jonas every year. I forget
Jonas's birthday, always forgets mine. It's terrible, Albert, we appreciate it.
(32:57):

Slash redeem rewards terms apply. So the Philadelphia Eagles, apparently
they are they are not done. They are getting aggressive.
They're not happy with just being undefeated. They go out
they trade a fourth round pick yesterday for Robert Quinn,
the pass rusher of the Chicago Bears. He had eighteen
(35:05):
and a half sacks last year. Slow start to the
season this year, but the Philadelphia Eagles continue to stock up.
There is they're making a real run at this thing.
So Derek Barnett goes down and they find themselves the
position to be able to make a run. Right. They're undefeated,
they've been awesome this year, and you go find an
edge rusher that you know, Robert Quinn has done as
well this year, was fantastic last year. I think the
(35:27):
crazy thing about this is a fourth round pick, but
the Bears are taking on what seven million of his
contract this year. Philly's got to pay I think seven
grand that's it, Like that's it for the rest of
the season, and he could be one of those pieces
that maybe helps you win a Super Bowl. It's just
I mean, you can look at one of two ways.
Chicago basically bought a fourth round pick for seven million
(35:50):
UM or or you just say, you know, clearly there's
no point older player keeping them on if they didn't
feel like he was in their plans for the future.
But either way, I mean, that's it's a heck of
a deal, I think, really for for for Filly in
this case, in my opinion, unless you just think he
has nothing left. But but even then it's still to
(36:10):
each seven million that that just doesn't make sense to me.
And I would still want to use his his services
unless I felt as though it was going to benefit
a player that we were going to use and in
some way like is his his Quinn's presence making it
difficult for a coach? Isn't making it difficult for players players?
(36:34):
You know? I don't know. I don't know Quinn, but
I know a few people who have played with him
and who know him personally, and I've heard nothing but
but positive things about him. So I was on a
team with him. He works his tail off, he doesn't
you know, he just does everything right like he is
the a lot of veterans you bring into a locker room,
(36:58):
not necessarily sure, you know what to think, you know
what you're kind of bringing. He could fit it anywhere
because he works his tail off. He's gonna say and
do all the right things. So which makes a peculiar
That makes it peculiar as to why they would let
them go and eat that unless they feel as though
they can parlay that that pick into something better in
(37:18):
the future, or leverage it to get a higher draft
pick and package that up, whatever it may be. They're
executing a plan. It's a tear down, like they're just
they're they're tearing everything down to the studs. And I
was actually surprised they didn't move them in the off
season when they traded Khalil Mack. You just sort of
got the you know, you started to figure out there
heading in a different direction. Um. And like you saw
(37:39):
Roquan Smith get emotional yesterday talking about just you know
what a great teammate he is and and a good
friend of his. And by the way, Robert Quinn's got
over a hundred career sacks, damn man. And I heard
I was just thinking think about some of the edge
rushers that have come from North Carolina. You have l
t arguably the greatest of all time, joyous pep for
(38:00):
his Hall of Famer. And then you've got like Robert Quinn,
Like it's weird to me that you don't hear in
North Carolina. I mean, I see basketball school, but they
never talked about that, Like that would be a place
you think, like you'd want to try to recruit based
on the previous guys you've been there. I mean, and
he's a South He's a South Carolina guy, you know,
went to Fort Dorchester. How did South Carolina lose him
(38:21):
to North Carolina. It's a disgrace. It's yeah, it's like,
how did Pitt lose LaVar Arrington Depenn State? You know
what I mean? Not really? What do you mean? Not really?
