(00:22):
somebody quit on their team? The transfer portals running wild?

people are starting to really not like. Plus we got

a quarterback that is now all of a sudden on
the market. It's all yours. Coming up next here, Two
pros and a cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio. You're

Tireract dot com the way tire buying should be. How
the hell we're feeling on a Tuesday morning, My man,
I mean, not as good as Top Radius right now.
My goodness, it's awesome. It's just awesome. It really is.
It really is, and and it's it's funny. So when
you watch him play, he's forty five, Like, I can't

(01:49):
get over how he does what he does at forty
five years old. And it was the first last night,
that's the first time he was trailing by thirteen or
more points in a fourth quarter. Outside of the player
the super Bowl, would they be Atlanta first time of
the regular season, he's ever done what he did last night. Yeah,
it was just incredible, And just watching it, I remember

(02:11):
so I caught myself trying like being super negative while
I was watching the game, like in my mind, and
I stopped myself because I remember thinking to myself, all right,
so they're down sixteen three, they go down, they score
the first one, and I thought, all right, if they
get a stop and they get the ball back and
they score, you know, everybody's going to forget about the
fact that they look like crap for about three quarters

(02:31):
And then I literally stopped myself in the moment and said,
to exactly what you said. He's forty five. He's forty
five years old and still figuring out a way through
this when their offensive line is a disaster. They showed
there was a graphic shown early in the game where
they talked about the offensive line from last year as
opposed to this year, and everybody's either either injured or

(02:52):
retired or signed with somebody else, and he's just trying
to figure it out on the fly. It's been choppy
all season long. There they were down the stretch and
he gets it done again, another comeback victory. And I
don't know how at this point anybody can't just sit
back and say, for as long as a tear, why
don't we just enjoy it, like if he were tires tomorrow,

(03:15):
if you were you know, if he decides, you know,
I don't want to do this again, I don't want
to come back. Just enjoy it, man, because we're never
going to see this again. He's forty five years old.
And not only do I think we're never ever going
to see anything like it again, because I don't know
that anybody's got the ability to maybe play as well
as long as he has. Financially, why would anybody want
to stick around that long with the number, with the
amount of money these guys are getting paid nowadays, It

(03:37):
just do It doesn't make any sense to me, like
we we will never see a guy like this again
ever in the NFL. Everything, No, there's there's there's no
chance of seeing this replicated the resume replicated. The league's
not built to have this sort of success that Tom
Brady and and Bill Belichick had New England, or even
him going down to Tampa and then when he want
Bruce Arians. It was interesting to watching last night because

(04:00):
I think one of the narratives surrounding the Bucks at
least this past week was Todd Bowles got after I
guess you'd say the leaders on the Tampa Bay Bucks
at least that's that's the way he described it. And
it was really a page out of Bruce arians playbook
where and I thought, I'm sure you recall this during
Tom Brady's time when he first got there, Bruce Areas

(04:21):
used to get after Tom Brady like he'd call him
out in the media, say he's not playing well enough.
And it was like, all right, Tom left Newegland from
one coach who would used to kind of call him
out in team meetings, maybe not so much publicly, maybe
every once in a while, but for the most part,
who would talk down to him and team meetings. He
got tired of it, that relationship gets fractured. He goes

(04:42):
to Tampa. Yeah, same guy does it, only does the
publicly to the media and Bruce Arians bowls kind of
did it this past week and say what you want, man,
but look, it equates to a win there now in
the driver's seat in the NFC South. I mean, not
that they weren't before the game. But this definitively puts
them ahead of the Saints. They swept him so far,
and and they're on the path to probably would winning

(05:03):
that division at eight and nine, nine and eight and
hosting a playoff game, which is kind of incredible when
you think about it. And and obviously, even though this
team has not played their best football, they don't have
to write now. They just have to play better football
and start to get a little bit on a run
as they head into the playoffs. Now, there's gonna be
a lot of people out there who think because they
have access to the All twenty two's and they can

(05:23):
look this stuff up, and they've seen some some you know,
quarterback drill, like who's that Tom House is at the
quarterback guru, the guy who does the quarterback training. They're
gonna watch some some Tomhouse YouTube video and go, I
can identify a quarterback who's got a skill set that
is either slipping or ascending in the National Football League.
You've talked about this before, so now that it's fresh

(05:46):
and everybody's memory, they've seen what they've seen from Tom
Brady last night. Are his skills diminishing? Like what when
you watch him play? When you watch him navigate the pocket,
when you watch him throw downfield, what do you see
from him differently even what he was doing, say five, six,
seven years ago. Well, look, I mean he's not moving
quite the same, Like that's obvious. And I think he's

(06:08):
it's gotta exposed a little bit because he's had to
move more and more, um with the offensive line issues
they've they've suffered this year. So that stands out. But
you you you know, he's forty five, Like you kind
of expect that to be the case. I to keep
saying that, but he's forty five years old, like you
come to go, Yeah, that's that's about right. So he
hasn't moved quite the same. The arm strength is another

(06:31):
one that's interesting to watch. I I don't think there's
um much of a difference. I think the one thing
that stands out to me, though, is you see a
lot of balls that he's kind of you know, when
he throws them, it's almost like the kind of tail or.
He'll kind of yanked them into the ground or they'll
be low. That's more to me about biproduct of him
not getting his body addressed to the throw. And he's
not the type of guy to make off platform throws,

(06:52):
meaning if his feet and body under line to the throw,
he's usually not going to be quite as accurate or
throw with a lot of velocity. That's just it's never
been his style of throwing. And and he's fundamentally who
every kid should watch or they're trying to play quarterback.
You know, all these kids trying to throw these trick
shot throws. That's really not how the game is played.
You should want to be Tom Brady. And you know what,

(07:15):
when his feet and everything else doesn't a line, it's
just you noticed that a little bit more because he
used to have the upper body strank to really not
worry about that kind of stuff and then make those
throws even without setting his feet sometimes. Now it becomes
just like that much more apparent. Has he been better
than Rogers this year? Yeah, I don't think that's even debatable.
And and so he's been better than Matt Ryan as

(07:36):
well too, obviously. And and I'm just going down the
list of like the oldest quarterbacks in the NFL, and
those are all guys that are like six eight years
younger than him, and he's still at forty five, is
out playing all those guys, it's it's unbelievable. Like I
don't know. That's why when I when I hear people

(07:57):
knock it, or when I when I saw people get
frustrated he decided to come back. When he did, I
just thought, then enjoy this, Like why why not just
celebrate it? Why you got it? Like you you're if
we all acknowledge in real time, we're getting an opportunity
to witness history, and we're getting an opportunity to see
a guy try and do something that's never ever been
done before, and he can still do it at a

(08:17):
high level. Why the hell not? And and I get
news for you. I don't know what's gonna happen in
San Francisco, and we can talk about, you know, the situation,
and obviously Baker Mayfield's name is out there and all
the other things that have come along with it, but
we can talk about San Francisco. I don't know what's
going to happen next year. But if there was an
opportunity for the Niners to possibly look at bringing a

(08:39):
veteran quarterback and Tom Brady wanted to go there, I
mean I I right now would sign up for Tom
Brady next year for one more year than I would
Tray Lance like without a shadow of a doubt. And
so I just think there's gonna be options for him
that if he wants to come back, it's either gonna
be Tampa or it's gonna be San Francisco. But I
think he can absolutely still play. And I think there's
gonna be teams they're gonna on him. There might be

(09:02):
teams that are gonna want him and and they definitely
still play. I think it's the organization though. That The
tough part is you know, you're buying into one two years,
like you're you're kind of living in this world where
you're gonna get through a year or two with him
being your guy. There's really no future to it. So
that's the hard thing. You know, are you an organizations
looking at win a Super Bowl? If you are, do
you have a roster built around Tom Brady that you're

(09:23):
able to go win one? Meaning do you have an
offensive line build that can protect him? You know, in
this league nowadays, most don't, and most teams need to
have a group that's able to protect their quarterback or
he's got to be able to have dual threat ability.
He's gonna be able to get outside of the the pocket,
extend the play, move inside the pocket, and those are
things that you know Tom Brady he moves well within

(09:45):
the pocket, but he's not the type of guy to
get outside of it. So when you start going through
the list of teams that might be looking for a
quarterback next season, like I just I don't know, we'll
see who's dying to to look for his talents and
and doesn't end up wanting to go into draft. Have
to build that way as opposed to what Tom Brady brings. Again,
I'm not saying he's not gonna be desired, but when

(10:05):
he left New England, there weren't that many teams calling,
you know, calling for him then for a forty plus
year old quarterback. So it might it might not. You know,
it might be a little more difficult than you think
this time around. So do you feel bad for Andy Dalton, Like,
because listen, he he played pretty well for a lot
of that game last night, and then it comes down

(10:25):
to it and it's like he's just standing there on
the sideline biting his lip, going we're gonna lose. He
just like every time they panned over to Andy Dalton,
he knew what was going to happen? And then they
he had the touchdown throw to Godwin in the ends
of they get called back for a holding and Andy
Dalton's just standing on the sideline going, I'm gonna lose again.
He's got an awful Monday Night record, and he's standing

(10:47):
there realizing that he's playing Tom Brady, the best of
all time. They were awful for three plus quarters and
yet here we are on Monday night and he can't
do a damn thing about it. That is a helpless
feeling for a guy standing on the sideline watching someone
else dropped on the field and go scoring to go
win the game. Stinks. Um. I can tell you that
first stand happened a number of times, but I'll also

(11:09):
say this, the swift kick in the nuts was the
touchdown being called back for the holding call Yeah, and
then thinking you still have a shot, like oh great,
and now it's you know, first and goal for the
twenty or whatever the heck. They're like, okay, you know
there's they're they're you know, they're not gonna be able
to score now they yeah they are, yes, yes they are. Yeah.
It was. It was awesome. So condolences to Andy Dalton

(11:31):
in the New Orleans Saints. Uh, that's a rough way
to go. And by the way, that's it though, that's
that's a that's a wrap. The Saints are done because
you're not getting a wild card team from this division.
So that was all about the winner of that game
is moving on to win the division. The rest of
the division stinks. Don't try to talk to me about Atlanta.

(11:52):
Don't talk to me about Carolina. Saints are done now.
They swept the Bucks, swept them, and so they've got,
you know, those two games ahead as far as even
if they you know, it's Hie breaking in scenario, so
it's over. You gonna basically annoint the Bucks, says the
NFC South champs. They'll be hosting a playoff game. Good
for them, because I just I want to see Tom
Brady in the playoffs. I want to give him a Listen,

(12:14):
I'm done with Atlanta after what Atlanta pulled on Sunday
with well, look, I mean I bet Atlanta. They were
part of my Knox locks on on the Jonas Knock Show.
I know you're a big fan of that. Listen, I mean, listen,
you're as busy as you are on Saturdays with conference
championship games and big New and kickoff. I know you're
always tuned in top of our two for some Knox
locks every single Saturday here on Fox Sports Radio. I

(12:36):
had Atlanta getting points against Pittsburgh and they were atrocious.
And all all I want to know is, if this
division is over with, are we gonna see Desmond Ritter?
Are we gonna finally see some Desmon Ritter? Are we
gonna finally see maybe some other players uh put in
the game? Can we get Jamis Winston? And if the
season is over, can we get Jamison? I mean, I'm
looking for two touchdowns seven interceptions in a game, not

(12:57):
asking for a lot from the New Orleans Saints. The
Carolina Panthers are a disaster, so we can we get
a little bit of entertainment to finish out the season.
That's all we're asking for here. That's one way of
describing how Jamie wants to plays. By the way, well,
let mean, look, I I know I am the Jamis
Winston of sports betting, right, so I know that a
one touchdown, three to interception, guy, I'm I get one

(13:19):
right and the next three wrong. Like that's that's me.
When it comes to sports betting. So jamis Winton. I
have a lot in common. I've never been caught shoplifting,
but we do have a lot in common. Crab legs.
Have you had crab legs before? Yeah? Oh man, how
good are crab legs? They're great? And when you learn
how to actually crack them and then pull them out

(13:41):
and eat them, it's it's awesome. They won't fill you up,
but you know, like if you have like yeah, but
you're spending spending like three bucks on by the way,
you've got a lot of balls. Somebody, somebody who's who
makes the women in his family makes Molly's from scratch.

(14:01):
And you're talking about too much work. Well, you're you're
preparing them. You're sitting down to eat. I don't I'm not.
I don't want to have to like work to get
to my food. Fun. You're cracking it over, you're dipping
in a little butter sauce like the whole platter. They're
a nice cold beer burn. Oh come on, man, you
know that's that's how I found out I was alleged

(14:22):
as a shellfish though stone crab like I was eating.
I mean, I remember I was there for some shoot
um and I was with this whole big group, and
I was with Eric Winston, good buddy of mine, who
you'll played a long time in the NFL. And there
was a pile of stone crabs claws, and I'm like, man,
this is amazing. This is the great It was the

(14:43):
single greatest thing I've ever eaten in my entire life.
I did what the hype was about. Kid from the
middle of the Midwest, growing up eating steak and potatoes.
My parents obviously never had like shellfish, really much fish
at all for that matter. So I started cracking these
things open I'm eating. I'm like, this is the life. Man,
doesn't get much better than this. I literally go to
the bathroom. It feels like I had fifty tho mosquitoes

(15:06):
bite my face. And I come back out and and
Eric looks at me, goes, did did you just get
to fight in the bathroom? I looked like Will Smith
in the movie Hitch. I had blown up. It was like,
literally someone took an air pump just injected into my
bath that blew my face up. And that really is
a bummer. Like I I've been having that conversation with

(15:26):
my wife SUPERTI like, what do you think our son
is going to be allergic to And it's like, we
don't know. He just kind of hopefully not rolling the
dice and we'll see what happens. Like I didn't know
to be stings until I, you know, got stung on
my side and lifted up my shirt when I was
like eight years old and look had a pitching mount
on my side. I was terrible bad. The worst part

(15:48):
is I didn't realize like I went and just like
just like in the movie, he goes the drug stories
getting better, drially chugging better, Drill did the same thing.
Problem was, I was also having a jack and crokes wrong.
And for anyone out there, I'm gonna realize this and
ahistories don't work with alcohol, Like those two things don't mix.
So it was I ended up being kind of counteractive

(16:11):
at that point. Yeah, that's a bummer. Well, I mean, listen,
you're missing out man. I mean shellfish, and so what
does shellfish include? So that shrimp, that's crab, that's fish crawfish? Man. Yeah,
that's a bummer. Yeah, that's all right. Well, listen, I
think everything's worked out. Okay, everything's working. I let bird

(16:33):
eat that stuff. For me though, and then he crawfish.
Yeah it's fun man, and listen. Yeah, I don't mind
getting my hands dirty, but I having to use tools.
That's too much work. Yeah, I mean you gotta get
after you know, my crabs though, Bert, you've had a
few times. That's right, Yeah, that is ah, it is

(16:59):
too pro in a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio

six o'clock Pacific coming up next though. There was a
move made in the NFL yesterday and it could mean
It could mean a legitimate playoff run for somebody you

on Fox Sports Radio. Be sure to catch live editions
of Two Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn,
LaVar Arrington and Jonas Knocks week days at six am

I Heart Radio Two Pros and a Cup of Joe
Fox Sports Radio Brady Quinn, Jonas Knocks of the here

(18:05):
you can listen to this show is always on the
I Heart Radio app. By the way, I'm coming up
in about twenty minutes from now. There's a really really
good idea and an awful idea at the same time
in the world of football, and we'll have that for
you here again. Coming up in about twenty minutes from
now in another edition of incase you missed it, so
stick around for that. By the way, any first responder
will tell you never try to beat a train after

(18:27):
breaking It could take a mile for a train and
completely stop, so when you come to a rail crossing
stop because trains can't. So yesterday in Carolina, the Panthers
made a move. They have released Baker Mayfield. Now this
was upon Baker Mayfield. It was a mutual decision. Baker
Mayfield and then had talked about this, and this was
something where they weren't going to make him the starter.

(18:48):
He wanted to try and see what else was out there,
and so the Panthers and Baker Mayfield came to a
mutual agreement. He is no longer in Carolina. Here was
his head coach, Steve Wilkes talking with the media about
the decision. He asked to be release after you've said
he usually be rolling with p J And yes, he
felt and we felt we wanted to give him again

(19:10):
opportunity to be able to seek whatever him and his
agent felt will be the best for them again. Uh,
he has been nothing but a professional for us, so
I wanted to extend that courtesy. Alright, So Baker Mayfield
is now looking around. He's got a clear waivers and
that's done. What four thirty, I think four thirty Eastern
time is how that works. Later on today, he's not

(19:32):
gonna be acclaimed, I don't think. I don't think you will.
So I don't know if you saw this, but the
Niners had an issue at quarterback pop up this weekend. Yeah,
I saw that we actually talked about the yesterday. Yeah,
Jimmy Garoppolo, it's got this uh, this foot issue. And
so I mean, I'm just saying, now, Baker Mayfield sitting

(19:54):
out there, what do we think about old Baker? Or
you're connecting the dots here. I'm just saying, like, what
this is this Baker time San Franz. It's what it
looks like to me? Why not? I mean why like, look,
I know Brock Purty played well, but why like, I mean,
come on, man, like, Baker Mayfield's there. If you can
add a guy like that this late in the season,

(20:17):
when you're trying to make a legitimate Super Bowl run
and you just lost your starting quarterback for the year,
I think any option should be on the table within reason.
I think any option should be on the table. And
to me, Baker Mayfield in San Francisco is not that
terrible of an idea. I mean one I agree. We've
also heard Kyle Shanahan talk, you know, complimentary about Baker Mayfield.

(20:40):
I think he likes the personality, the pizzaz that he
brings to the game. If you look at to their
style of offense, you know that was when Baker Mayfield
had his best season under Kevin Stefanski. You know they're
they're similar coaching. True. Stevanski came from Minnesota. He was
there under Gary Kubiak, who was a play caller. The
similar system him um Kubiak. Obviously he dates back to

(21:03):
his time in the Shanahan system in Denver. So the
the coaching tree. Uh, it's not directly related, but they're
kind of like planned right next to each other, if
you know what I mean, running running similar offenses. So
I can see it. I think if you're John Lanch,
you're Cayle Shanahan, you're saying, this guy gives us the
best chance to win. He's not even on a roster,

(21:23):
but he's talented enough. You've seen him do it before
in Cleveland where they were able to go to the playoffs.
They want a playoff game. You can't say that about
brock Purty. And it's no knock on brock Purty, but
he also wasn't drafted to be the guy Trey Lance was.
He's injured, he's out for the season. Jimmy Garoppolo is
going to be the guy. He's out for the season.
Now you gotta go find someone and unless you're talking

(21:44):
to Ben Roethlisberger, uh, Philip Rivers something, and like some
of those guys, some some team might have their rights.
So it's not as easy as that Baker mayfood is
your best excuse me, best choice. And it's crazy to
me that he very well. I like this could be
that season where he has up playing on what three teams, yeah,

(22:06):
and finds his way on someone that ends up going
on on a super Bowl run. It'd be pretty pretty incredible. Yeah,
Like I just the idea that and I've seen people
sort of dismissed this with, you know, upon first sight
and first conversation. No, no, no, that's that's not a
great idea. And I'm thinking to myself, well, why why
is it not a great idea? To your point, he's
got playoff experience. He won a game on the road

(22:28):
at Pittsburgh. You can go back to that playoff here
for Cleveland, and that game against the Chiefs in the
divisional round was really competitive. They were winning that game
at one point. I think it was Donovan People's Jones
had a fumble that was like that awful rule out
of the end zone. There are a couple of questionable
calls there I think Mahomes got banged up in that game.
That was the Chad Henny fourth and Henny had to

(22:49):
pick up the first down. Like Baker Mayfield's got playoff experience.
He's played good football before. And if you're just going
to point to this season is in Carolina as the
indictment on Baker Mayfield or last year. Not to try
and make excuses for the guy, but he was banged
up last year. He couldn't stay healthy and that was
an issue all season long and it lingered all year long,

(23:11):
and then this year Caroline is terrible. I mean, they like, what,
what do you have to really work with there? So
it's like the idea that we're just going to go
ahead and get rid of everything that happened previously and
just focus on the past couple of years and say, no, no, no,
that's why he's not a fit, and that's why he
wouldn't be an upgrade. He absolutely would be an upgrade,
And I think it would be fun and good for

(23:32):
him because Steve Wilkes mentioned it, and from all accounts,
he's been nothing but a great teammate and great to
deal with in Carolina in the locker room, and that
was a difficult situation through and through lost the coach
quarterback carousel, and there's been no issues whatsoever. I think
he's probably been a little bit humbled come on that
he got from the headbutting on those guys in the sideline,

(23:55):
through some scans of some additional um, you know, testing.
But outside of that, he's been perfect old school. I mean,
it's it's old school. Who was it? Was it the
L s U player who was banging his head against
his helmet? Yeah, West Virginia or whatever, same difference. Who
cares Schmidt? I believe it was his name. He was
a fullback for West Virginia. I was talking about this year.
There was a moment on the sideline some lineman from

(24:17):
L s U or something. Yeah, but I mean that
guy this even play? Do we even know who knows?
You go with Owen Schmidt? Okay, yeah, he used to
bang his helmet against his head. Where you bleed? What
did you come out before games? Mount Rushmore of West
Virginia like players from West Virginia who were going with
Owen Schmidt, Kevin Pittsnoggle, I mean, Pat White's gotta be

(24:37):
up there. Smith has gotta be up there. Gino Smith,
Pat McAfee. AU's gotta be up there, Pat McAfee for Yeah, sure, Yeah,
of course, I'm just I'm I'm looking at like the
all time preach. That would be really high up book. Yeah,
I think did we mentioned Owen Schmidt? I mean, I
still know many guys who can make themselves bleed like
that before there. It's pretty ridiculous. So didn't J J. D.

(25:01):
Watt had an issue with his nose right, His nose
kept bleeding during games because it's how what would push
down to the bridge of his nose? That why? Yeah,
something like I thought you told me he was like
skiing in Houston, which I was like, I'm telling me,
where was a ski slope there? That's reckless, absolutely reckless. No,
I mean you're trying to paint him out like he's
the offensive line coach for the Dolphins. The next thing
you know, he's he's making snow angels on it ski

(25:23):
in South Florida, which is weird. I did not know
there are skills that snow. Yeah, it has to be.
I mean, you know that man made snow that'll keep
you up for days speaking? Yeah, um so do we
do you actually think if this were to happen and
the Niners make this move, how long realistically would it
take for Baker Mayfield to be ready to trot out

(25:46):
there and play football for the Niners. That also been
all of that, And that's why I bring up the
fact that the offenses aren't too far away. If you
really look at the verbiage within him and probably what
he had during his time in Cleveland under Stefanski, they
gotta be pretty close. So I think from the verbage standpoint,

(26:06):
he could probably get it out. He's probably you know,
done the full work in the run game, which is
more important than people realize, and even the past concepts
all things that are similar. So look, I love Cale Shannon.
I think he's a great play caller. I think he
can work to quarterback strengths, doesn't matter who it is.
I mean he was born with Nick Mulins, when Nick
Molins was back there, when Garoppolo was injured, before they
had trade Lance. I mean literally, he will find a

(26:29):
way of of you know, allowing the offense to shoot
the quarterback that's behind center. So I have no worries
or concerns. And how long they just have to be
the team that claim him or sign him, And I
don't know that he's gonna get a claim. I don't
know what anyone wants to pay him the amount he
was gonna be paid like Carolina did this year. I
think it's gonna end up being a lesser contract, which

(26:49):
might work out better for Baker in the long run. Yeah,
it's two pros and a cup of Joe. Here on
Fox Sports Radio, Brady Quinn, Jonas knocks with the Here
on FS are you can hang out with us? Is
always on the I Heart Radio. All right, So coming up,
we are going to have another edition of in case
you missed it. That'll be a few minutes from now
for all the latest self from around the world of
sports ladies, and gent'll make some noise. The one and
only Edmund Garcia, Betty, what's going on? Jonas? Feeling good? Everybody, man,

(27:15):
We're good. Yeah, hanging in there without LaVar, Yeah, every
everything's fine. LaVar might be joining us coming up later
on in the show, talking about the big night, looking
forward to the looking forward to that, uh, looking forward
to telling you about the Monday night football game last
night as well. It wasn't the greatest game, but it
certainly had an interesting finish with New Orleans holding a
thirteen point lead with three minutes to go, but Tom

(27:37):
Brady threw two touchdown passes in those final three minutes,
including the final one with three seconds to go, six
yard passed the running back with Shod White. Extra point
gives the Buccaneers the seventeen sixteen victory. New Orleans falls
to four and not in the season, while Tampa Bay
leads the ENDMCY South with a six and six records.
You guys were talking about Carolina Panthers, at least quarterback
Paker Mayfield. His request, Mayfield put on waivers. If he clears,

(28:00):
he'll be a free agent and consigned with any team.
Baltimore Ravens quarback Lamar Jackson listened to his week to
week with that knee injury he suffered on Sunday College Football.
You got your four Heisman Trophy finalists. They are all quarterbacks.
Caleb Williams from usc Max Dugan from tc U, C J.
Straff from Ohio State, and Stetson Bennett from Georgia And
the NBA, The Celtics, the first team in the league
hit the twenty win mark, now at twenty and five

(28:22):
after one win over the Raptors. Kawhi Leonard back in
the lineup after his injury with the Clippers. He at
the game winning shot in the final seconds gave l
A a a one nineteen seventeen win over the Hornets, and
the Pacers knocked off the Warriors on the road one
twelve to one oh four. College basketball wins for number
eighteen Gonzaga number twenty to San Diego State. NHL Game
of the Night, Golden Nights beat the Bruins in Boston

(28:42):
four three and to shootout. That snaps Boston's NHL record
fourteen game home mice win streak to start the season.
World Cup Brazil and Croatia advance, and in baseball, the
Phillies and free agent shortstop Trade Turner agree on an
eleven year, three hundred million dollar contract. Jesus, yeah, I
said that same. The same word came out of my

(29:02):
mouth when I said, under million dollars. Where do the
Phillies have all this money? Like Bryce Harper, It's crazy,
like where they come up with all this money? Still
they want what games? There's a lot of cheese right there.
It's like seventy million win for the for the Phillies.

(29:24):
Next year. I don't. I don't get it. Man. Hey,
we got some more hockey coming up Tonight, the Dallas
Stars hosted the Toronto Maple Leaves. I tell you that
because it's our Discovery Card key matchup by Discover, we
can talk about how complicating on the banks make it
through Deem credit card awards, or we can talk about
how we discover you can redeem your awards for cashing
any amount at any time, talking about amazing learned more
discover dot com slash for Deem rewards terms apply and

(29:46):
now back to Brady Quinn and Jonas Talks at the
tire Rack dot Com Fox Sports Radio Studios. Thanks Eddie,
two pros and a cup of Joe here on Fox
Sports Radio. By the way, we do have some good
news here, Brady Quinn for our friends listening on the
game in Wisconsin. Um, apparently the Packers want Aaron Rodgers
back next year. They do want him back. Brian guden
Kunst Matt Lafleur both spoke yesterday and said, hey, we'd

(30:10):
love to have him back. UM. Now, I don't know
if it's the fact that you know they owe him
fifty eight million dollars and they only get out of
that if he decides to retire. So apparently Aaron Rodgers
is going to be back. I don't know what that
means for Jordan's Love's future, but a little bit of
a disappointing year for the Green Bay Packers, but the
Bears owner would like to you know, who knows, maybe
he'll be back for another season. You surprised by that? Why?

(30:32):
Why would I be surprised by them? Yeah, so you're
saying this shouldn't be news worthy, like a publication like
Pro Football Talk doesn't need to put this as the headline.
It's like fifty Like what do you expect him to do?
What are they going to like try and convince him
to retire, Like, hey, listen, we're not sure anybody would
want your services. You should go ahead and retire, and
so we don't have to pay the fifty eight million dollars.

(30:53):
It's fifty eight million dollars. He'll be back next year.
But don't they have to decide on jordan Loves future
as well too. They do after the season, they have
to side on his fifth year option, which that will
be an interesting one. Maybe they don't pick it up
all together. I mean, we've seen that now with Daniel
Jones as well. Who's you know, starting and playing and
you know, the Giants you have to figure that out
after the season, but it's it's not uncommon. I'll put

(31:15):
it that. What the hell the Giant's gonna do with Jones? Well,
I mean, they could always franchise tag if they feel
like he's playing well enough, but that number is gonna
be pretty big, and I can't imagine they're gonna go
that route. You know, that's a team that if it's
Tom Brady still wants to keep playing, maybe they would
make him run a top Brady. I mean, he's got
those dump truck balls, so maybe he wanted to go

(31:37):
try to go after Tom Brady the off season. Graham
and by the way, to the New York Giants organization,
just stick with the throwback UNI's stick with the old
schools block lettering on this like that that n y crap,
what are we doing here? Like stick with the block
letters so much? He can't stand up. He's not even

(31:57):
standing up right now. Well, it's I mean, look, I
mean that's that, but that's Michael. It's not Michael. Douglas
hasn't been on for quite a while, by the way,
I think Michael Douglas was pissed because Burdo missed a
couple of days, and he said, all right, fine, I'm
not gonna be in rotation on skin of Max or
whatever these channels are. I'm just not gonna do it
at three something in the morning Pacific time. So yeah,

(32:18):
it's too bad. We'll get him back, though. It is
two pros and a couple of Joeys. Michael Douglas, Yeah, yeah,
So what's with that? Huh? What is with that? You know, fellas,
it's time. It's time to stop treating your groins like junk.
Introducing the Gillette Intimate Pubic hair Trimmer. It's a gentle

(32:42):
and easy shade from America's number one trusted men's grooming brand.
Show your pubic regions script with Gillette Intimate. It's the
best man can get. All right, it's coming up next. Burno.
You are such a scumbag man. Alright, we'll not let
you speak about him like that. Uh. There's a an

(33:05):
idea that is being floated out there, a rumor in
the world of football. It's a great idea and it's
also a terrible one at the same time. We'll have
that for you right here on fs are be sure

(34:07):
a Cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio. Brady Quinn Jonas
knocks with you here. Man. Please let's not get into
the die hard discussion. That's Christmas song, Everybody Christmas Movie
is this die Hard or is this from Home Alone?
Home Alone? That's right, I watched Home Alone the other
night the first time in years. How did they get

(34:28):
their money? Has that ever explained in the movie? I
don't remember that part. That just like that's like the
nicest house you've ever seen, and that kids just some snobby,
rich kid who can just walk around and like do
whatever the hell he wants. I just don't know how
they got all that money. Maybe their dad was a
drug dealer. Yeah, it's a great point, really ahead of

(34:49):
their time. Alright. Uh So, coming up in a little
over ten minutes from now from the tire rack dot
Com studios, there is something going on in the world
of football that could be a little bit problemat because
somebody may or may not have quit on their own team.
So we'll have that for you here again top the
next hour. A little over ten minutes from now, before
we get to another edition of In Case you missed it,

(35:09):
I want to let you know we are brought to
you by Discover. We can talk about how complicated other
banks make it to redeem credit card rewards, or we
can talk about how it discovered you can redeem your
rewards for cash and any amount at any time. I
mean talk about amazing, learn more, discover dot com, slash
redeemed rewards terms apply. Sometimes you can't get to everything
in the world of sports or entertainment. Good thing, the
guys are here to bring you in case you missed it,

(35:33):
and for that we turn it over to our executive
producer lead Digital lay Fellas in case there it is,
in case you missed it. Uh. There are a couple
of head coaching vacancies in the world of college football,
including U and l V. A couple of names out
there include Mike Stoops, Kevin Sumlin. Some say Chris Peterson
up for the job? Even ed or you're on now?

(35:54):
Would that be? That would be amazing? By the way,
Can I just go ahead and shoot holes in the
Ris Peterson one. Bruce Felman tweeted this out last night.
He's gotten no involved in as the head coach for
that job. I believe he's it. Fox. Well, it's it's
not so much that I think there's other bigger shops.
Let's just let's put it that. What are you saying

(36:16):
about you and l V? That's not a big job.
Come on, now, there were three and five last year
in the conference five and seven overall he was doub
before that in Boise stage places. You want a lot
of games that, by the way, how how horribly to go?
If they hired a oor tron in you and LV
I think it'd go. Great recruit. He's a lot of fun,

(36:38):
he's entertaining guy. You know, don't don't underestimate Idio. All right,
so let's just play this out. Say they're playing I
don't know, New Mexico and nice big win. They're at home,
and all of a sudden, games over and it's like ten,
ten fifteen at night to night game. So how long

(37:01):
after the game before you get to the locker room
and you have your postgame discussion with the coaches and
the celebration as players, Like, how long are we talking
about from the time the game's over to the time
you're finally done with all your team stuff? Like so
gay men say ten o'clock dot, um, it depends, okay, hour,

(37:22):
I don't know. So we're talking ed ors are on
with nothing to do but celebrate a win. At eleven
o'clock in Las Vegas, he will be climbing up the
side of the luxe or by the time midnight strikes.
This is a great idea and also probably not a
great idea at the same time, but who knows. Maybe.
And by the way, he didn't even make enough money

(37:42):
on that buyout from L s U. Why the hell
is he want to work again? He's got his national championship.
What I don't understand is why you would ask that question. Like,
once you have some money, everyone wants more money. It's
human nature. Okay, you have something, you always want more
of it. Very few people out there don't want more
of something that's really great, and money is obviously something
that you could help improve your life. So I never

(38:04):
really understand when people do the whole Why would he
want to work again? The guy's gonna be board band.
These guys are wired to coach to work, to do stuff,
to put on U and l V and then go
to the crafts table at the same time. Yeah, listen,
I hear you. That's a great point. What else we got, lee, Guys,
We've talked a lot about Dion Sanders getting the job
at Colorado, but in case you missed it, he might

(38:25):
be bringing on a big name to join his staff,
that being Willie Taggart from obviously his last job. Yeah,
the last last job obviously Florida Atlantic. Last time he
hasn't been a head coach was an oh nine. By
the way, they figured out how they're gonna paydon yet,
Like didn't he a d said, we don't have the
money yet, but we're gonna come up with it or
something like that, George, like all the things you don't

(38:49):
say introductory press conference. Yeah, we're scrambling, but we got deon.
You do you actually have Dion if you don't have
the money to pay him? Like a rick, your check
bounced for my salary the other week. What are we doing?
By the way, how do they get a rate? Like,
get me get money for a salary? Well, we're gonna
start charging people to take pictures with Ralphie the Buffalo

(39:11):
statue out in front of the stadium Joel Clatt's appearance.
Fees just got cut in half like that, Like they're
gonna try and cut corners wherever they can to try
and afford Dion Sanders there, Joel Clad's gonna be happy.
Huh little buzz with Colorado. Oh yeah, I think Joel Clad,
Jeremy Bloom, all your former buff grades, you know, go Buffs. Uh,

(39:32):
Like my dad went the for a couple of years.
I kind of grew up rooting for the Buffs. The Colorado, Yeah, Vietnam. Yeah,
so yeah, you learned something new every day. A lot
a lot of gold helmets don't on Colorado, Notre Dame.
But it was, you know, it's that program can be
built back up. It's not it's I mean it's obviously,
you know, decades removed, but they still have the capability.

(39:54):
I think Dion can bring it to him. Willie Tagger if,
by the ways, a great recruiter, I would love to
see what him and Dion could do of convincent players.
I think they only already got like a five star
for younger kid, but still so it's gonna be fun
to see what they're capable. And the best part is
if Dion wins a couple of games next year, it's
going to be a couple more than they won this

(40:15):
year at Colorado. So I mean, like talking about low
expectations there, so everybody be excited. That's why it's always
good to take a job like that, is you don't
have to do much stupid to be able to climb
that ladder and be able to improve upon what was
what's been a bad program if he wants to kind
of start jumping up to even a bigger program from there.
In case you missed the SEC Championship, which wouldn't be

(40:37):
a surprised because it was a stinker, there was a
lot more of a highly contentious competition at halftime, that
being the Doctor Pepper Challenge. If you missed it, they
went to extra rounds because of a tie, and then
after a fifteen second throw off, there was a tie again,
which made everyone confuse when they announced a winner right away. Well,
luckily Dr Pepper corrected that and awarded both contestants a
hundred thousand dollars. There should be a new tie breaker.

(40:59):
Who ever, whoever has the better form should get the
scholarship and get the money. Like that's how this should
be done, because actually read the rules for this, by
the way, you know, they're supposed to a preliminary one
before the thing even starts to then determine who would win.
In this scenario, it's actually ink did not. Well, that's
why that's why it confused everyone, because they rewarded the

(41:20):
person who had one qualifying right, and no one saw that.
By the way, I'd rather lose the money and have
perfect form and throw overhand and that pushed past crap
that it's faster, that's faster. Fox Sports Radio has the
