You know, I just heard the call from Wayne Larabee
(01:01):
calling the Packers beating the Dolphins. I used to like
when he would say he would say, there is your
dagger until my fins or on the other end of that,
I don't like that called nearly as much. Jeff. I
love Homer Radio, dude. It's like it's my favorite of
all time, especially like the college side. It's just like
(01:22):
so much emotion. There's no you know, they're they're not
being impartial, They're just saying what's on their mind. Um,
it's the best. Homer Radio is great. I'm not sure
NFL is as good as as college football. There definitely
are the guys that I think or you know, make
it that way, but Homer Radio is the best. Man,
It's so good. It really is good. And I love
when you get the color commentator that's kind of like
(01:45):
butting in the whole time, like the best might have
been in the World Cup and when they were trying
when I just can't was doing his goal call and
this color guy was like, I might be offsides. He's
shut up, shutut up. Is my moment over here, like
the second or third messy goal and he's like, oh,
(02:08):
that might be off side. He quite didn't end up
being offside. Yeah, even more beautiful. It was so good.
It was so good. Um, so yeah. I mean, you
know the way that the Packers game ended you know,
there's not that play itself. You're not gonna get the
interruption from the color guys often. But you know the Raiders,
the Jason Horts called the Raiders, um, I mean looking
(02:31):
Kennedy at the noise they were being made in that
booth and obviously on the on the TV call, I
think it was I think it was Jonathan Vilmo was
on the calls because the color guy he just couldn't
contain his He just started just like the words came
from his I mean, that moment is so unique, man,
that's great. I love it. I do love the Bengals
radio crew because the color commentator he does a great
(02:54):
job of picking his spots where he's just like yeah baby,
or and it doesn't it actually helps the call, it
doesn't screw up played by play guy. I do we
we talked to the guys a former player. I'll do
a little Google search for you and thank him for
Do you think we have enough poll me you and
(03:16):
Crack to get like to sit somewhere warm in that
stadium for that game? I hope. So it's Dave Lap
him is the guy's former player. He does a great job.
He's like yeah baby in the background. Yes, yeah, like
he just bleeds for the Bengals. But yeah, maybe we
can hit up Dave lap him if we need an
inside source. He could make it happen on Dave's good side.
(03:38):
We'll have warmth for that game. I don't know, if
I don't know if I want to sit in the cold.
I'm kind of a whimp like that. Like unless it's
like my team of rooting for being miserably cold for
four hours, it doesn't look it doesn't seem very fun.
And that was a theme this weekend. Man, cold cold.
There are a lot of Saturday cold games. Man, it
looked miserable on a lot of places. I mean the
Cleveland game, Um, you know there's let's sing it's like
(04:00):
football weather. That's not football weather. When when it's like
when it's negative three degrees, there's nothing about that as
football weather. Bears game was freezing. There are a couple
of cold weather it was. It was bad. I think
of the Dolphins right there, like the second coldest game
of all time in Miami yesterday. I think it was
something like that. Wasn't like it was the Panthers. By
(04:22):
the way, here in Charlotte where I live, coldest game
of Frectress history at home. Um, it was like negative
too at some points this weekend with the wind chill,
very very odd cold spell. You know in the South.
You know, I want to get your thoughts on this.
It's Brian Now and Jeff Schwartz in for two pros
and a cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio.
It's not just a basketball thing here, Jeff. It applies
(04:44):
to all sports, but the Memphis Grizzlies. I find this
to be really interesting. So this week, John Morant, their
superstar player. He did a sit down interview with Malika
Andrews of ESPN, and he was talking about their path
going forward as the playoffs get nearer. Here's what he
had to say. Do you look at around the league
(05:04):
as you're studying and say, we're gonna have to run
through them Celtics, no one in the West. I'm fine
in the West, Fine in the West. And yesterday on
Christmas Day, Memphis got crushed by Golden State without Steph Curry.
They lost by fourteen points. And this is Clay Thompson
(05:25):
after the game on ESPN, and I was talking about
dynasty and all that. You can't talk dynasty and have
her one before. I don't think people realize how hard
that is, the commitment and sacrifice of tank. I mean,
you got to sacrifice your body, and I thought that
was pretty muture talk, you know, to talk. Can you
even mentioned that word? Yeah, So the way I look
(05:47):
at it, Jeff, I don't know why you want to
make things harder for yourself. I appreciate the confidence, I
really do, but I don't know why you want to
Just you're like, raise everybody, like everybody is just like okay,
now you have our attention even more. Everybody's competitive to
begin with, and when you just basically say I'm fine
(06:10):
in the West, it's like that's not gonna be a
cake walk at all, and you just made it more difficult.
I just don't think it makes sense to do that.
It doesn't make sense. And the reason why you know
your public relations team will tell you you're not saying
these things is now you have feel teams of extra
motivation right on playing you and then you're on the playoffs.
I'm not sure they need extra motivation, but just becomes
more fun to beat a team like that. Right when
(06:30):
you talked away, uh the jaw talked there. But but
I understand the confidence and what he's saying right there.
You want this, you want this blend of I think
outward confidence for your fan base, for your teammates to hear.
They are also a little bit of humility, right you
want to kind of you combine those. But the NBA is,
you know, it's it's a different sport, right like that.
These these guys are you know, they're they're very confident bunch,
(06:54):
especially the young players, and they talk more than I think.
You know, we're used to hearing from superstars, you know
when we when we were growing up, and the way
that players kind of treat the media back then, And um,
I don't mind it. But as long as you can
back it up right, like like you can't go out
and lose the Warriors like that, So um, I don't
mind the confidence. Um it gives seems more motivation. Um
(07:18):
but you know the Grizzlies having having a one anything yet,
So it's it's you know, to talk like that, I
would I would personally wait till you win like the
Western Conference before you talk like that. Yeah. It's uh,
it's just interesting to me because in sports, the smallest
things are used as extra motivation of course. Yeah, this
isn't a small thing to be like. I find in
(07:40):
the West, A lot of teams in the West, Warriors, Pelicans, Maths, Clippers,
and a lot of teams are gonna be like, oh yeah,
really is no teams? Okay, all right? You mention the
Lakers only giving up fifty one points in a single quarter?
Do I need to pay attention to my Lakers? Are
we just? I just do not pay attention to this?
(08:01):
Scratch them off the list. I like how Lebron after
the game was like, yeah, life without a D kind
of rough. K. Well, guy who's always hurt is always hurt?
What what? I'm just like, what a shocking development that
I can't believe the guy who's always hurt is now
always hurt again. You know, the Bubble Championship helped obviously
(08:22):
and stay healthy because he got three months off and
came back healthy. But the only time it's part able
to make you through. Um so yeah, it's uh. Maybe
though I didn't watch much yesterday, I'm just a sucker
for football. UM well. I did find interesting though, is
that you know there's a trend um on NBA NBA
Christmas to bet the unders in these games right because
(08:44):
it's early, it's Christmas, and four of the five overshit.
So if you if you trend bet yesterday, um you
uh there's also there was also a trend I saw.
I saved this one. I almost send it to you
to you guys in the chat. But you know, our
co host third Ghost despises trends. If if a Christmas
Day game, if they were under a hundred points scored
(09:05):
in the first half, the second half under hits like
seventy five percent at the time, and that was not
all the case yesterday. So wait a minute, the first
half was the first part of that. So if the
if there's if there's less than a hundred points in
the first half, that is rare. Yeah, that what happened
the Lakers game. It was it was points in the
(09:26):
first half, the maverick over the over right away. Um,
and I just love the idea of, oh man, this
is hitting trend over here, let me go with the
under in the second half in the third quarter themselves,
idly bet that one. I made a mistake. That I
made a mistake. I had an NFL weekend, so I
(09:48):
was like, I was gonna like, you know, all the
teasers hit. This was good teaser weekend. But yeah, the
trends are over there. But yeah, look n to me
with the NBA. Um, it's one of those sports. Of course,
I cover college football, NFL. I mean, so much of
my brain this time of year is is on, is on,
is on football. Um. You know, the NBA playoffs are
so different than the regular season. I feel like where
(10:11):
you watch the game in the postseason and you're like, wow,
this is not the same support as I just watched
for six months. And I think I can sort of
miss the regular season and get to the playoffs and
watch a lot of good basketball and no, I pay
attention enough to know storylines and who's playing well who's not.
(10:31):
But I can basically miss the entire regular season and
show up in the playoffs and watch basketball no exactly
what's happening. You can't do that in baseball. You can't
do that in football. Obviously, it's a problem the NBA has.
I don't know how you fix it. But I can
miss most of the regular season and show up in
the playoffs and I can talk about it, which I
will do, and I can know what's good, who's bad,
(10:55):
who's not, and and enjoy the product of the in
the playoffs. I love watch NBA playoffs, but the regular
season to me is just a different sport than the playoffs. Yeah,
it's interesting. How about this too, with what joh had
to say about now I'm cool in the West, what
would be the equivalent in the NFL? If you look
(11:15):
at the Grizzlies, Right, they haven't even been been to
the conference finals. I don't believe yet, right they certainly
they were on their way to do that, right, they
were on there. Well, they had a good chance against
Golden State, but they didn't get it done. And then
it was Luca and the Maps against Golden State in
the Western Conference finals. They haven't even been to the
conference finals. Would that be like would it be the Eagles?
(11:39):
Would it be the Cowboys saying, you know, I'm cool
in the NFC? You know, we gotta do you have
to in this have to be like a young player,
oh man, NFL? Would it be Jalen Hurts played really
well and now I'm cool in the NFC? Right, but
but but but but lis scenario, the Eagles are better
(12:02):
than the Grizzlies. Right in this scenario, because the Grizzlies
are not the best team in the West at the moment.
I guess I guess it could be Jalen Hurts. Yeah,
that could be. I could see pretty close. Right. It
might not be perfect, but that's it's pretty close. Like
I think, Hurts, I'm cool in the NFC, we got
to deal with the Chiefs. Would it be the Bills
because the Bills are not playing No, they play an
(12:23):
in two years ago? Right? Uh? Did they make it there?
They make it all the way there. I'm not division
around divisional. Maybe Buffalo. Maybe if Josh Allen's now I'm
cool in the a f C because imagine what the
reaction would be. I just feel like in the NBA
(12:44):
there was a lot of positivity with John like like
the confidence man, like the swagger from that guy. Right,
but if that happened in the NFL would be like,
who the hell is this guy? What is he talking about?
It's just the Buffalo play the game. So then only
counting this situation, sh um, Yeah, maybe the Eagles. I
I guess, um Cowboys. That Dak Prescott saying that, I
(13:07):
think it'd be it might be the Cowboys, Like, hey man,
we're not worried about you. Anyone else we would giggle
like hysterically. Um, but look again, the NBA players, Um,
I like it. Like they're more free with their words.
They're not worried about what you're supposed to say, what
what you know, how you're not supposed to act, and
and they just say what's on their mind. They have
(13:28):
podcasts where they just kind of just hey, man, say
whatever I feel like saying, which I appreciate. You know
this goes back to last season, you'll appreciate this. So
this was after Golden State they beat Boston Warriors win
another championship, and one of the first things on Clay
Thompson's mind where the freaking Grizzlies Again. Here's what he
(13:49):
had to say. There's this one player in the Grizzlies
who tweeted strength and numbers after they beat us in
the brevious season, and it passed me off so much.
I can't wait to retweet that thing. Freaking bum I
had to watch that. I'm slight. He's freaking clown. Okay, okay, okay, sorry,
that memory just popped up. I'm gonna mock us like
(14:10):
you ain't ever been there before. Bro, We've been there.
We know what it takes. So to be here again.
Hold that that is beautiful, freaking clown freaking bum this
this after they beat Boston to win a championship. He's
still thinking about the Grizzly. So I'm telling you, Johnson,
now I'm cool in the West. That is a big deal. Okay.
(14:31):
So I've I've often thought about this because I think that,
you know, in the postseason, is Clay Thompson really worried
about what the Grizzly because he motivated himself before gave
me Like John Ranch said, I stick, Yeah, I think
he is. He has a competitive maniac, and I mean
that it's a compliment. My point is like, I think
(14:52):
that it's fun to say to you just after the
game is be like it's easier to say it's easier,
more fun to say, hey, man, I did this because
X person told me I couldn't, rather than being like,
you know, I just played because I wanted to win,
like like like I wanted to win. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
we we we get that. It's more fun to be like, yeah,
(15:14):
screw those guys. Right. It's like, I don't think that
the Warriors in in the postseason last year were anymore
motivated than they had to be because of what the
Grizzlies said to them. But it's fun after the fact
to be like, yeah, that's why because Grizzlies, you know,
said some stupid things on Twitter. Yeah, I get what
you're saying. I just love this. I love that they
(15:36):
hate each other. You can tell that the Grizzlies and
the Warriors hate good need this, all the bad blood.
I love all the Clay Thompson he's he hit a
shot and he's just mocking Dylan Brooks on the way
back down the corner. That is it's on sports and
it right now. Uh yeah, I look I like it. Um,
(16:01):
I would like the very boomer take the mind. Like
sometimes whant to watch NBA games. Some of these jerseys,
I don't know who is who. I'm like, I'm like,
I'm like, why are the Suns dressed in the in
the old the nineties Grizzlies outfits? Why are the Bucks
wearing purple? Like? What is like? What is I think that?
I think purple? Those technically like that the old school?
(16:22):
Yeah yeah, those blue the blue uniforms are blue colors
technically one of the one of the Bucks colors. If
you look at what the color scheme is. But like
I'm watching the Sun's play, I'm like, oh, the Grizzlies
team with with big Country Reeves is on the floor
right now. Yeah? Yeah, So I don't really understand the
color of something I love. Or Steve Francis like, I
(16:45):
don't want to go play there, Like why why don't
I want to go play there? Remember it was moping
across this stage. Remember when the Lakers only wore yellow
and purple. Now you're like, I don't know what color
they're wearing today? Yeah, yeah, it's what was the color
for the Sun's last night? Was that like a dolphins aqua?
Was it? I don't know what that was exactly? Yeah,
(17:05):
who knows that. It's the fun part about you still know,
Like you turn, Oh who's this? Oh okay, I gotta
figure out. Oh I know who it is. Used to
be home team more light colors, right and and and
and the road team were the dark color. And I
just guess when the game on, you just screw it,
like anything goes the very boomer take of mind, by
the way, and like it. I like some of the
alternate jerseys too, some of the very much enjoy jersey
(17:29):
about a hornets, alternate jersey. Some of those are nice,
some of those are slick. You know. Hey, I'm Brian, No,
he's Jeff Schwartz. We got a lot to do today.
Coming up. We were talking about the Christmas Day games.
There are a lot of games on Saturday on Christmas
Eve that we gotta touch on. Man one team barely
escapes crazy outcome, and now there's still more work to
(17:52):
be done for one of the top teams. We'll get
to both of those stories. We're in for two pros

Jeff Schwartz here on Fox Sports Radio in for two
Pros and a cup of Joe live from the tirect
dot com studios. Man, Jeff, it wasn't just about the
(18:57):
Christmas Day games yesterday. Some interesting games on Saturday. Over
on Christmas Eve. How about work still yet to be
done for the Eagles. They still have to win one
more game to secure home field. Throughout the NFC playoffs,
Gardner Minshew played pretty well all things consider. Jalen Hurts
was not able to go with the sprained right shoulder
(19:18):
in that game against the Cowboys. How about that Cowboys?
The Cowboys get to win forty thirty four. So I
got the Saints and against your Panthers this year. We
have a bet, a season long bet who's gonna win
more games? And they both have the same record. And
my two Saints because I have this bet with you,
(19:40):
they're they're at Philly when Philly needs to win to
secure home field. Not the greatest scenario for who, Dad over.
I mean the Panthers have to go to Tampa and
beat them this weekend, right like they for they have
for the NFC North and then they we we played
Panthers would be the only people watching Panthers Saints week
at both are eliminated from the playoffs. When are that
game is gonna win our better? I think, I think, yeah,
(20:03):
I think that's gonna be the case. So I wouldn't
pack the stats losing in the cold weather though too clearly.
Come on, come on, Browns, who from the playoffs the
lead or they up ten nothing? I think in that
game pretty they just they decided that they weren't going
to use their running backs were very good in this game,
decided to have wants and to throw the ball when
(20:24):
it's negative four degrees. The Cowboys and Eagles game was
was fairly interesting because you know, we've talked a lot
about the Cowboys defense this season. Now we we've we've
seen a lot of regression in their defenses hasn't been
as good over the last month or so. And you know,
in this game, the Cowboys allowed a ton of yards
(20:46):
and a ton of points, right, twenty seven offensive points
in this game. Gardner Mitchill for over three hundred and
fifty yards. The Eagles ran the ball well, but the
Cowboys forced four turnovers, and the four turnovers were kind
of at times the Eagles doing right. They fumbled the
ball three times. I think two of those they weren't
(21:06):
even hit, they just fumbled the exchanges, UM and we're
able to and the Cowboys were recovered all three balls
in the ground and the four four turnovers in this game,
UM and obviously Dak Prescott through a batter reception, came
back and played pretty well afterwards. This game, to me, though,
is um more about what it does for the confidence
of the Cowboys who were imagine it was wavering a
(21:27):
little bit after the lost to Jacksonville. But now you
beat the number one seed in the NFC Conference. Yeah,
Jyalen hurts Dan play, but they scored enough points to
win that game. Did the Eagles. I think if you're
the Cowboys, you feel pretty good about what your team
is heading into the playoffs now, right, like, like, you know, okay,
we can beat the Eagles if we play them in
the divisional round, in in in the NFC Championship round,
(21:50):
Like we can, we can, we can get this done.
And I think that's the most important thing the Cowboys
took away from yesterday. Well yeah, and uh it just
sounded like us as you're rattling that off right in
that particular game against the Eagles, where yeah, you're not
able to stop them just forth a bunch of turnovers
and it's certainly not sustainable, right the Eagles turn the
(22:12):
ball over one last time. Plus Also, you know, the
third and thirty conversion by the Cowboys won them the
game right there, down seven. It's third and thirty, two
straight sacks on Dak Prescott Hi out of nowhere. Yeah,
Heldy gets that long. Um. And then you know you
mentioned earlier kind of how the the NBA players use
(22:32):
social media and use the media and NFL players have
started to just come out and just like, yeah, no,
you're wrong, fans. I was right on that on that coverage,
and Darius Slay came out. I was like, yeah, that
not my fault. Everybody. Um, I don't know whose fault
it was, but you can't let the Eagles and the
Cowboys convert on third and thirty and just to go around.
But that's that when the gave it the Cowboys and
(22:52):
they went by six, and I think you're feeling pretty
good in Dallas right now, dude. Can you imagine if
just the way the playoff are unfolding right now, the
seating right now, it would be Tampa hosting Dallas, And
which is a joke, shouldn't be that way, but that's
what it would be. If if Tampa Bay can win
the division, if they can win the horrid NFC South,
(23:15):
it would be Tampa hosting the Cowboys. Can you imagine
if Dallas loses that game? Man, Crazier things have happened.
You're just talking about the turnover situation. I would certainly
expect Dallas to win that game. But it's Tom Brady,
it's the goat. Washington went in and beat Philly because
they forced four turnovers a few weeks ago. Like, it's possible, right.
Can you imagine if Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys are
(23:37):
one and done after losing the Tom Brady and Tampa
is probably gonna have a losing record. The Cowboys are
gonna be from from open a four to five point
favorite in that game against the Bucks. In the playoffs
where they meet each other, I will not like it,
but I will put money on Tampa Bay post the
points in that game. Um, because of the things you mentioned.
(23:59):
But Tampa Bay as good as as bad as they've been. Man,
they they're just like they do find ways to win
these games. And the Cowboys lose that game, Um, it's
gonna be yeah that Sean Payne will be the coach
pretty soon. Put it like that, how about all those rewards.
Sean Payton's putting together an All Star but he's out there,
(24:21):
is he's getting name out there. Um, if you're big
fangio over here, I'm just waiting waiting for an opportunity
to go ahead and screw up you one and done
Cowboys Like there you if you're the Cowboys. If you're
a Cowboys fan or you're a Chargers fan, let's say, okay,
would you rather the Chargers like not make the playoffs
but get Sean Payton right? Or would you rather make
(24:43):
the playoffs and keep Brandons staying there? If you're the Cowboys,
would you rather win a couple of playoff games? Win
the Super Bowl? You want to win the superow obviously,
will win a couple of playoff games or lose like
pathetically in in the wal Car Weekend and McArthur get
fired for Sean Payton. Yeah, I'd rather have Sean Payton
in both the scenarios. Same here, the Charges making the
playoffs feels like it actually is not good for the
(25:06):
future that team. It's so bad to say, but like,
if they return the same offensive coaching staff next season,
they deserve to not make the playoffs. Um, and imagine tonight,
Charges one tonight they're in the I think the Charges
will win Indianapolis tonight because the Colts don't be anybody
right now. But then against the Chargers, so who knows. Um, Yeah,
(25:30):
Sean Payton, those are two jobs. I feel like he
would take. The Cowboys are the Chargers. I don't know
if he takes like the Broncos. That feels like a
job he wouldn't be interested in, Isn't that wild? Yeah?
It might be the case where it's just so interesting
coming back to the defensive coordinator one year after Yeah,
that'd be so weird, right, We're kind of weird. It's
just amazing how this year is unfolded. Where I forget
(25:53):
which NFL insider was talking about. He was talking about
it on this show actually, and he was like, yeah,
I don't know if Sean Payton take the Denver job.
It's like their coaches and I don't want to work
with Russell Wilson. Right, that's a bit of a right, like,
it's just I get it. I get where we're at.
But I never would have thought this would be the
reality this season. The reality right now is we're gonna
(26:13):
hear from Nick Cope. He's got a hard hitting sports
bulletin slash update. How about that for boomer Talk? A
bullet in what's going on? Nick? Such hard hitting guys?
What's going on? Well? Speaking of Philly, and despite the loss,
they can clinch the one seed and the division with
a win in either of their final two games. Also
pertaining to clinching scenarios coming up next week, the Giants
(26:37):
clinch a playoffs spot with a win against the Colts
and of course the Bucks. They can clinch the NFC
South next week with a win against the Panthers. That's
because they overcame a ten point fourth quarter deficit to
beat the Cardinals in overtime on Christmas Day nineteen to sixteen.
Packers are still aligning for the playoffs as well. They
won their third straight knocking off that of offense to twenty.
(26:58):
Green Bay picked off two, a tongue of Ilower three
times in the fourth quarter. Miami has now lost four
in a row. That result keeps the Steelers and Raiders
alive for the playoffs and also sets up a win
and in a situation tonight for the Chargers as they
take on the Colts. Rams blew out the Broncos fift
onto four teen cam akers start for the Rams, the
(27:20):
running back ran for three touchdowns. Russell Wilson struggled for
Denver with three interceptions. And here's Wilson on what's going
on right now. We're at a low moment right now.
I don't fear low moments because I know that every
time I've been in a low moment, I've always come
to the other side of it. And that's in life.
Losing my dad, that's in life, and going through obstacles
and stuff that's in life and your career, whatever it
may be. And all I know is to keep fighting,
(27:42):
keep battling. And that's what I'm gonna give. I'm gonna
give everything I have every day. The NFL has flex
Steelers Ravens next week to Sunday Night Football Rams Chargers.
The originally scheduled game will be moved into the late
afternoon window to the NBA. Nuggets beat the Suns in
overtime to one five. Nicolea Yokich with another triple double
(28:03):
forty one points, fifteen rebounds, fifteen assists. You got the
Warriors handling the Grizzlies one three to one O nine.
Jordan Pool poored in thirty two points. Jayson Tatum dropped
forty one is. The Celtics pulled away from the Bucks
one eighteen. In a matchup of the top two teams
in the Eastern Conference, Mavericks sound scored the Lakers by
thirty points in the third quarter. They win one to
(28:26):
one fifteen as Dallas availed the statue for Dirk Navitsky.
Dontich had thirty two. Lebron with thirty eight Sixers won
their eighth row, beating the Knicks one nineteen to one twelve.
Joel Embiid with thirty five points and in baseball and quickly,
the New York Post reporting that the Mets and Carlos
Korea's camp are optimistic they can work out a deal
(28:47):
after the team raised an issue with his physical The
hold up is believed to be regarding ankle surgery. Korea
had back in. Let's go back to Brian No and
Jeff Schwartz. Thanks good stuff in for two pros and
a cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. Man,
that Carlos Korea story is unbelievable. You're San Francisco Giants
are involved in that? Yeah? I mean the Giants, um
(29:11):
or the Green Bay Packers of baseball. They're in every
conversation for every player, but just don't get any of them. Oh,
we went on be j We're thinking about making a
trade for this guy that guy every time, every time
a free agent, players signed us like they were considering
the Niners and the Packers. They're considering the Cowboys and
the Packers. They're considering the Jets, Dolphins and Packers. The
(29:33):
Packers are every conversation. Um. Celtics too. By the way,
Celtics are the lead NBA almost acquired players. If that's
like a stat of Giants. Were San Francisco Giants interested
in near a Judge? They had Carlos Korea then didn't
It's crazy we signed We signed Arson Judge. For about
ten minutes. That was fun. Um Phil Hayman, Man, you're
(29:57):
talking about taking it on the chin that they will
never live that one down. And then well then he
also said that he was coming to the Giant and
he changed his tweet to Aaron Judge and said he
was coming to the Giants. But Arson Judge, man geez
what a Arson Judge and Carlos Krea two Giants legends. Um, yeah,
so the Giants like the thing about the Giants, And
you're playing a division where the Padres and Dodgers have
(30:19):
all these superstars and you're gonna roll out like Mitch
Hanger is like your best player this season. It's it's
tough man, that's rough. But the other part is like
this was a thirteen year deal at first with the
San Francisco Giants and Korea. It's a twelve year deal
with the Mets, and now we're like talking about this
ankle surgery and we're figuring out what's going on with
(30:40):
the medical stuff. He's signed for over a freaking decade.
They got to iron this out. I don't know. I
don't know what could be so bad that the twins
like he played last year, Like what was so bad? Yeah,
I don't know. I guess it's just the long term
investment and they're trying to dot their eyes cross their
tea is don't don't want anything bad to happen down
(31:02):
the road, Like I don't know, could just be a
recurring thing nine years from now. I get that, but
it seems like, I mean, he he played, He's played
like he played through it. So I don't know how bad,
how big of an issue is. But obviously it's a
problem for for the team that won't won't give him
a new deal. Yeah, so curious what happens there because
(31:24):
a lot of times with these long term contracts, like
the team will be covered with like insurance in case
this guy, you know, he gets hurt. So that then
I think the promas insurance is not going to cover
in cases. Yeah, that's then the long run is insuran
is not going to cover his contract. He's for sure
be a Dodger now freaking explaining shorts off this year. Yeah,
(31:48):
I know you have Carlin's crezer. Now he's gonna be
a Dodger for sure. That money is that importance, just
like winning is unimportant. What would it take What would
it take for Berto, diehard Dodgers fan, for you to
sign up for Carlos careaver? What if? What if you want?
It's a ten year deal. You won four rings? Do
(32:08):
I hear? Yes? Do I have a deal over here
with screwed Derek car Hey, Derek car Man. We gotta
get to Derek car Jeff. Did you see the Hey, Jeff,
it's an offensive linement. If your quarterbacks out there wearing
sleeves and you guys are not wearing sleeves, you look
do you look at them like like lesser than you? No?
I don't care about that. Uh. You know the car
(32:36):
thing like it just run its course in in in Vegas,
like it's time to Um. Yeah, I think you'd still
be a really good quarterback somewhere else. But it's it's done.
It's time to move on. It hasn't worked as as expected. Um,
time to find a new quarterback, a new leader of
that team, and probably a new coach as well. But
that's a maybe not a different topic and kind of
(32:58):
just moving along. I just didn't it's it's it's where
it's course. It's time to move it along. Yeah, that's Uh.
It's been a crazy year for them as a team
and also him individually. But the three interceptions against the Steeler,
especially the last one, I know, yeah, but Hunter renfro
is wide open down the middle of the field, and
(33:20):
he's like, hey, I know I could lead you to
the right, Why don't I lead you to the left
where you have to do a one eight? And it
was just a brutal throw, man, Like, there's no excuse
for something like that. The Raiders last seven weeks, all right.
They lose to Jeff Saturday in his first game as
a Colt head coach. They win three in a row,
including two walk offs. Right, Davante Adams beats the Broncos
(33:42):
and overtime. The next week, Uh, Josh Jacob spats the
Seahawks of the a R touchdown one right, So yeah,
and they beat the Chargers two in that stretch. Then
they lose the Baker Mayfield led Rams on Thursday and football.
Then they beat the Patriots and that weird walk off game,
and they lose the Steelers in the last second. The
(34:02):
weird seven weeks for that team, really weird. But that's
has been their season. Man, It's been as strange as
it gets. You couldn't make that up. If you're like, hey,
you know, here's the script for the Raiders. This is
what I'm thinking. You would throw that in the trash immediately.
No one would buy that, no one would believe it.
But that's exactly what has happened for the Like the
(34:23):
the Chandler Jones touchdown against the Patriots with Jakobe Meyers
throwing the ball trying to hook up with Mac Jones's quarterback.
No one would ever believe that, and it happened. It
happened in real life. It's just and I had the Raiders,
so thank you, thank you man. I was looking being
(34:44):
on the wrong side of that thing, though. Can you
imagine if it was the other way around, you had
heavy cash on the Patriots and unfolded like that? So
be it? What happens the package yesterday. So I'll take it.
That's my one win yesterday. How dare you? How dare
you beat take advantage of the poor, unfortunate fins? Outrageous? Hey,
we got a lot to do. I don't know if
(35:06):
you realize this, Jeff, but we are actually in the
same boat college football wise. We will get to this
right around the corner. He's Jeff Schwartz. I'm Brian no

We're live from the tire Rack dot Com Studios' Brian No.
He's Jeff Schwartz in for two Pros and a Cup
of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. You know, Jeff,
I don't know if you realize this. We're in the
same boat over here, in the same boat. So I
(35:48):
love Notre Dame football from South Bend. You love Oregon football.
You went to Oregon, right, you bleed for the university. So. Um.
The safety Peyton Bowen, he flipped from both both of
our schools. He originally was committed to Notre Dame, flipped
to Oregon, and then the very next day he flipped
(36:08):
from Oregon. He's going to Oklahoma right now. He's a
double flipper. Quite quite an unique journey, right um. He
I did not like this the way he did it.
But he gets up on stage on commitment day on Wednesday,
puts on the Notre Dame hat. Everyone cheers. He takes
the hat off and puts on the organ. I'm not
a fan of when when kids do that, like just
(36:29):
kind of just it's a little disrespectful, right, like nore
Dame didn't do anything to you to where you you know,
they deserved that treatment. His mom like breaks out in
tears immediately after he switches his hat to Oregan like
he was as well. It's like it reminded me of
remember Landon Collins safety he committed to. I'm pretty sure
(36:52):
it was him. He committed to UH Alabama. His mom
was like, l s U number one Tiger's baby made
making a mistake. That was my favorite. So his mom,
his mom just in straight, like straight tears. Um. And
then he commits Oklahoma UM the next day. And so
he was committed to two schools and really three schools
in twenty four hours. He never sent his his n
(37:14):
I L his national letter of intent and to Oregon
and so Oklahoma gets him um. But it was it
was an interesting uh So his girlfriend plays soccer to Oklahoma.
After he committed Oklahoma, his Oklahoma's women's soccer account tweet
out a photo of his girlfriend smiling, and the Oklahoma
(37:37):
football account replied with like a heart emoji I just
find that a little the whole exchange a little bit
odd for college recruiting. The whole thing was strange, and
I'm like what, I'm like, what do we I get?
You know, I shouldn't understanding following a girlfriend to school, um,
but the whole that was just like an extra weirdness
to the whole more deal. The whole thing was weird.
(38:00):
I get that you might have a change of heart.
You're a little wishy washy, you know, you're a teenager.
I get that, But the whole I'm going to Notre
Dame psych I'm not going there, Like, I don't like
that part and making enemies man like, And I'm fine
with the idea of not of your eighteen, of not
knowing where you're going to school, Like that's totally normal.
(38:20):
And I understand that you feel that way about a
life change decision. You're gonna flip and you know Dcmon's
happened all the time. You're gonna flip and flop. And
what organ was able to get a couple of kids,
you know, late in the cycle, just like you know,
Oklaholm was able to get get paid bone in this cycle.
So I'm not really I'm never really upset, but again,
the hat thing bothered me. And I just don't think
that's like, what did the Notre dame due to you
to have to disrespect them like that, right? And I
(38:42):
get a little bit of drama with this. But the
way the Trance reportal works now, are we sure you
know that he's done the portal in two years? And
this is the way, like the way that everyone just
goes to portal, you know, there's no and you burn
two teams. I'm sure that they would take them back,
but you know it looks you know, you have two
teams that maybe we're off your transfer list. Now the
(39:03):
portal has changed the game in immense ways. Um, you know,
even if you miss it recruiting, you're like, okay, cool instead, right, yeah,
you just rebuild it that way, restock the shelves that way. Hey,

thought this was a cool story, Jeff. So last week
when the Raiders pulled out the miracle win, because the
Patriots just had a brain freeze over there with Jacoby
Myers right throwing that that backwards pass. Uh. Chandler Jones
(39:49):
picks it off. There was a Raiders fan, a woman
that went ballistic in the stands on a Patriots fan.
She's in his face, yelling like yeah what now, like
that type of thing, and the Patriots fan doesn't react
at all. So Robert Kraft, team team owner of the Patriots,
he sees this video. He invites the Patriots fan out
(40:13):
to the Pat's game they're hosting the Bangles on Saturday.
He's like sitting right next to Robert Kraft because he
took the high road. He was professionally didn't overreact to
this crazy uh Raiders female fan that was in his face.
I thought that was great. I thought it was great
to be rewarded for being the professional in this case.
(40:33):
But his reward was going to oh and then watch
that fumble inside the ten. Oh my gosh. The for
the Patriots to even be in that game and then
to kick it away like that. Yeah, that was rough.
Would it be funny if the fan just lost his
(40:55):
mind watching that game in person after not losing his
mind the week before. That's funny, man, that's funny, all right.
Plenty more to get to coming up. Is this the end?
We'll compare notes next
