cup of joe for the year two is everybody gets
ready for the most overrated holiday of the entire year,
New Year's Eve. I mean, I've never one time had
(01:30):
a New Year's Eve that I look back on and go, man,
that was a blast. That was awesome. Boy, Now that
one really set the tone for what every New Year's
Eve should be like. It's overrated, it's overblown. But nonetheless
we'll have more conversations about that throughout the course of
the show, I'm sure. But let's get into this. So
(01:50):
say Kwon Barkley and some others with the New York
Giants have talked about the importance of this weekend. Right, So,
the New York Giants host the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday,
and if they win, they're in the playoffs. And so
the idea is, you don't want to take a chance
if you've got an opportunity to close, and you've got
(02:12):
an opportunity to get into the postseason, and you can
control your own destiny. You don't want to take a
chance because in week eighteen, now you're at Philadelphia, and
who the hell knows how this weekend is going to
go for the Eagles. I think they're gonna be fine
against New Orleans without Jalen Hurts. And I would assume
Jalen Hurts is not playing here. He showed up back
(02:33):
at practice in a limited capacity. But if all of
a sudden, Philly has got something to play for next
week and you're the Giants, you've just made your job
that much more difficult. So see Kawan Barclay's point was, look,
let's just wrap this up, let's get this done. Like
they've kind of it's kind of not been all that
(02:53):
hot over the past several weeks. I mean, they got
that win against the Commanders. You know that was the
time time game, whether you know may or may not
have been past interference, and Terry McLaurin got called for,
you know, being off sides when the official gave him
the okay. But other than that, like you tied the
Commanders the week before, you've lost four of your last six.
(03:16):
It just it hasn't been all that great for the
Giants recently. But you can get to the playoffs. And
so see Kawan Barkley's point spot on, don't take a chance,
get to the playoffs. Close it out this week and
then you'll figure out who you play. But the point is,
just get into the dance. Just get into the dance.
And I don't want to play spoiler here, but the
(03:41):
Giants are clinching a playoffs spot this weekend. It's happening.
Indianapolis stinks. There's already some reports that Jeff Saturday is
going to be gone next year. Uh, Indianapolis is going
to lose this weekend and the Giants are going to
the playoffs. So we do have some good news. The
Giants are going to the playoffs this weekend and it
will be the first time getting the postseason since the season.
(04:06):
And if you remember, that was the boat game. Remember
how Odell Beckham Jr. And some Giants players were wearing
like Timberland's and standing on some you know, some yacht
or some boat in Miami or something like that. And
then they went at Green Bay and completely melted down
there at lambeau Field and they lost that. That was
(04:27):
actually the last playoff game the Giants took part in,
so just think about that. Think about where you were
when Odell Beckham Jr. Got criticized for playing poorly after
partying the week of the playoff game on a yacht
in Miami. That was the last time the Giants have
(04:48):
been into the playoffs. So them getting into the postseason
it's kind of a rare occurrence nowadays, but it's awesome
from a tradition standpoint if you're like me and you
grew up watching me. Look, even if even if you're
older than me, the Giants have always been one of
the blue blood organizations of the NFL. Whether you grew
(05:08):
up in the eighties, if you grew up in the nineties,
the Giants have always had success. If you grew up
previous to that, there's always been great players on the Giants,
but if you grew up And that's why when they
did the throwback jerseys this year where they had the
helmets with with with the Giants across it, it just
reminded me of watching football growing up, watching the NFL,
(05:29):
growing up when I first fell in love with the NFL,
because you can remember those great Giants teams, and so
the fact that you fast forward all these years later
and they've got an opportunity to this weekend to clinch
a playoff spot. From a tradition standpoint, it's awesome. It
also means Brian day Ball should be Coach of the
(05:49):
Year in the NFL and it shouldn't even be close.
It shouldn't be close. Now the odds would dictate and
indicate that Brian Flores or usually Brian day Ball, is
not going to be coach of the Year because you've
got Nick Sirianni, who's the favorite. You've got Dan Campbell
mixed in, You've got Kyle Shanahan there, there's Kevin O'Connell
(06:11):
who's getting some love, Doug Peterson. All of those guys
deserve some level of credit for the performance of their teams. Look,
Nick Sirianni's at the best team in football. And for
a guy like Nick Sirianni, who a lot of people
thought was a stop gap coach or sort of a
plan B because they were trying to figure out with
the direction of the organization, he's done a hell of
(06:33):
a job. Love Dan Campbell, love what the lines have done.
Kyle Shannon unlike his eighteenth quarterback this season, and San
Francisco plays better and better, and they're the hottest team
in the NFL. Them and Cincinnati, two hottest teams in
the NFL. Kevin O'Connell, what he's done with Minnesota, fantastic,
Doug Peterson and the turnaround there in Jacksonville. If they
(06:55):
get into the postseason, all of that. Listen, full credit
for me, Brian and day Balls the coach of the
Year in the NFL. And I really don't think it's
all that close. Think about this. The Giants have had
one winning season in the last ten years. That great
(07:17):
franchise with all the tradition and all the backstory and
that blue blood organization, they've got one winning season the
last ten years. The last playoff game they won was
the second Super Bowl against the Patriots. You not long ago.
That was like that second Super Bowl they want against
(07:42):
the Patriots, the Mario Manningham catch on the sideline, Tom
Brady's then wife criticizing Wes Welker for the drop, the
Hail Mary at the end to try and win it
with Rob Gronkowski who had like one leg because he
had a busted up ankle and some other injury he
was dealing with. That was the last playoff game the Giants.
(08:02):
One was that Super Bowl, and since that playoff game
they won, that's super Bowl that they won. The Giants
are almost forty games under five hundred coming into this season.
That puts you in company with teams like the Jags,
(08:26):
the Browns, the Lions, and the Jets, which is like saying,
I'm sharing a house and my roommates are O. J. Simpson,
Jeffrey Dahmer, the night Stocker, and Ted Bundy. At some
point you gotta move out. I'm sorry. I don't care
that they're clean, I don't care that all the rent
(08:47):
is paid on time. At some point you gotta look
around and go, I gotta get out of these surroundings.
It doesn't work for me. That's who the Giants have
kept company with over the past decade, almost forty games
under five hundred. It and they can clinch a playoff
spot this weekend with, amongst other things, a quarterback that
(09:11):
they didn't even want and the previous two coaches couldn't
figure out what to do with. Record wise, they're in
the best division in football, So you've got a quarterback
nobody wanted anything to do with, and the previous two guys.
We're looking around for answers. I don't know. I mean,
maybe this just isn't it so much so that the
(09:32):
organization did me? Did me? Him pick up his option
and you can clinch a playoffs spot in the best
division in football this weekend. How the hell is Brian
Daball not the runaway favorite to win Coach of the Year.
I I honestly, I don't think it's at all close whatsoever,
(09:53):
when you take into account what he inherited and where
this team is at and the fact that they're and
I keeps they could they're going to clinch a playoff
spot this weekend. To me, it is a no brainer.
Of all the awards were handing out after the season,
whether you're talking about Defensive Player of the Year and
everyone thinks, okay, well it's it's Nick Bosa, or it's
(10:14):
Micah Parsons, the m v P, it's got to be
Patrick Mahomes like all of if you're looking for somebody
who deserves the honor based on where the organization has been,
the previous failures of not just a couple of years.
This isn't just he took over an organization that struggled
last year and they've made a quick turnaround. We're talking
(10:35):
a decade of awful play. We're a decade of terrible play,
no playoff wins since your last Super Bowl, and that
was the second to the Patriots, when Wes Welker was
still on the team. Like like, that's the discussion we're
(10:56):
having here, and Brian Dable took that team over with
a quarterback they didn't even want, and here they are
on the doorstep of going to the playoffs. Slam Dunk
Coach of the Year should be Brian Dave Ball Jonas
knocks here Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Fox

on the I Heart Radio app, and you can find
us on hundreds of affiliates all across the countries. We
(11:18):
come to you live here from the tire rack dot
Com studios. Coming up next, though, somebody is defending a
member of his organization, all right. The problem is the
person who's doing the defending is not anybody that you
want to hear from, although they do have a point.
If you listen closely, we'll tell you who that is.
(11:38):
Right here on Fox Sports Radio. Be sure to catch
live editions of Two Pros and a Cup of Joe
with Brady Quinn, LaVar Arrington and Jonas Knox week days
at six am Eastern, three am Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio and the I Heart Radio. Two Pros and a
Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio, Jonas Knocks of the Year,
(11:58):
No LaVar, no Brady. They'll be back with us after
the weekend here on FS are by the way, coming
up later on this hour. We've got some important questions.
All right, this is a big weekend for a lot
of people. We've got important questions that we're going to
get to sports and beyond coming up. We'll call it
a little over twenty minutes from now here on Fox
Sports Radio. Man oh Man, just delivering the hits here,
(12:23):
you know, on on some of these televisions inside the studio.
I'll have to say that, all right, So don't you know,
just I understand where the message is coming from. I
get it, all right. I understand why there could be
some hesitation here, right, I hear you. But if you
(12:44):
could just bear with me, let's listen to Deshaun Watson, right,
get get the jokes ready, I get them, you know,
like everybody, get the jokes ready. If you got a
towel joke. You know, you know, use them while you
got them. But here was the Shawn Watson, the Browns
quarterback defending this year and also as head coach, Kevin
(13:07):
Stefanski take it away, dw It's very important to be
able to build that the opportunity, that trust and that
you know, chemistry between each other. You know, we only
had four games with each other a little bit off season,
but you know that hot seat stuff and all that
that's for you know, media and talking and stuff like
that and people that made those decisions that does the
right thing for this organization. Um, but we all trust Kevin,
(13:29):
We love Kevin, we support Kevin, we respect Kevin and
everything that here by about you know, get Cleveland Browns
and so yeah, we're going to continue to build that
trust and build that chemistry and look for the future. Now,
if you're like me, and let's just be honest about
it here, don't worry without judging. No judging here. Um,
I'm gonna go ahead and read your mind if you
just heard that here listening on many of our Fox
(13:49):
Sports radio affiliates across the country, um man, that's your
lands different. After the off season, he had to be
honest with you. You know what you hear some of
those are words, uh, you know, his tone, that guy's
voice kind of lands a little bit differently than the
guy who was crying and emotional after he got a
contract extension from the Houston Texans years ago. But again,
(14:11):
you know, we're just we're just being honest here. There's
nothing wrong with telling the truth, all right, Believe it
or not. The truth still applies in certain situations, and
it still plays in certain situations. And I think we're
gonna tell the truth. That guy's voice and the way
he talks kind of kind of sounds a little bit different.
It takes on a different tone after the off season
and some of the stuff that's come out regarding him.
But yerifent you got a buddy, hey bad Look if
(14:44):
you tell people got a fetish, you know, look, I
used to bite my nails as a kid. I hear you.
It happens. There's some people out there that some people
were booker eaters, you know that like that, like every
but he's got a thing, ye uh, but you know
(15:07):
you had one thing and it played out and it's
a you know, a completely different conversation. But never mind,
all that The message he's trying to get across is yeah, look,
we like Kevin Stefanski. We're here for the idea. Because
there's been some people that have thrown this out there
that Kevin Stefanski could be on the hot seat. You
(15:27):
gotta be crazy, you gotta be kidding. That would be
a shocker if we're doing this show on Black Monday
and Kevin Stefanski is one of the coaches who gets fired.
At first, it's not that's what it's called. It's Black Monday,
that's what it called. And first of all, Rob Parker.
Rob Parker gave me the green light. He said, although
(15:48):
we call it Black Friday or Black Monday every Monday
and Friday or black for Rob Parker, but he said
that I do have the green lights those all right.
So that was given to me on the air by
Rob Parker. Do you thinking I'm you know, incorrecting the statements.
You can hit him up on Twitter and he'll agree
with me. But if we're talking on that day that
Kevin Stefancy has been fired his head coach, I will
be stunned, absolutely shocked, because that is a screw job
(16:12):
of a firing. And there's been some people that have
thrown that out there, because the fact of the matter is,
the second Deshaun Watson got suspended for eleven games, it
was over. This season was over. If you're a Browns
fan and you were getting excited about this season, I
(16:33):
don't have to tell you that was a rap. I mean,
especially some of the losses earlier in the year that
definitely didn't help. But the second you're starting quarterback, your
franchise quarterback that you gave two thirty million dollars guaranteed
to was suspended for the first eleven games of the season.
The second that story came out and the second that
(16:54):
was handed out, it was over. Your focus should have
been turned to next season. So if I'm the organization
or on the front office and I'm even having any
kind of thought that we need to make a change
at coach, you gotta have a long look in the
mirror and have a real conversation about what the hell
(17:14):
your expectations were for this season, because they're completely out
of whack, Like Kevin Stefanski, Like it's not even just
this year. Like if you were to like if you
just look at what Kevin Stefanski has done in Cleveland,
and just consider the organization and everything that that the
organization was about, and everything the organization had dealt with
(17:38):
and all the other stuff to come. First of all,
he takes over the team after a COVID year, they
won eleven games, and they go to the playoffs and
they win a game at Pittsburgh. And it's the same conversation,
it's the same reason why defend Baker Mayfield in his
time in Cleveland. You can say it didn't work out
and Baker Mayfield was a bust and he was a failure.
(17:59):
All you want on all I know is he want
a playoff game in Cleveland, and he want a playoff
game on the road against Pittsburgh, which if you're a
Browns fan growing up, that's the boogeyman, could never be Pittsburgh.
Brady Quinns talked about it on the show, the fact
that you did that and it was at Pittsburgh. You
retired to Pouncey, Ben Roethlisberger crying on the sidelines, knowing
(18:24):
that was really like their last great opportunity in Pittsburgh
to try and make some sort of a run. You
did that, and then we're very much in that game
against Kansas City, and some would argue probably should have
won that game. Kevin Stefanski was a coach for all
of that. Last year was a mess. Baker Mayfield, his
starting quarterback, couldn't stay healthy, and then you had all
(18:45):
the other stuff that was going along with it. And
still they were an eight win team. It wasn't like
this was a Denver Broncos situation, or we're looking at
the Houston Texans. You were an eight win team last
year with a quarterback who was completely banged up, and
then you get into this season and they throw you
(19:06):
a crap bomb on your lap and say, oh, by
the way, we're bringing in a quarterback who's got all
sorts of stuff off the field and he's probably not
gonna be here from majority of the year, but go ahead,
try and win a bunch of games with Jacoby per said,
that's cool. Who's in my division? You know, the defending
a f C champion. Okay, and still you beat Cincinnati
on Halloween. So like, the idea that it's even a
(19:29):
topic of conversation that Kevin Stefanski would be on a
hot seat is crazy to me. Yet, you know what's
gonna happen come that Monday after the season, there's gonna
be one or two firings that you look at and go, man,
I didn't see that happening. I wouldn't imagine it would
be this. But the second to Shaun Watson got suspended
for eleven games, it was over, so I've when he
(19:49):
came back, I had two thoughts, what's the reception going
to be like from places he goes and plays at?
And I think we've gotten you know, we we've gotten.
The or to that, if anybody saw some of the
props that were used in Cincinnati when he when he
went and played the Bengals there, like, like, what were
some of the what was the reception going to be
like when he went and played on the road? And
(20:15):
I thought, this season's kind of like a preseason. It's
an extended preseason for him. And so when you see
him struggling and the offense not putting up points and
they lose to the Saints last week, I just look
at it and I chalk it up as, Yeah, this
is kind of what I expected based on the fact
that this guy missed the first eleven games of this
season and hasn't played football since January. Like we're talking
(20:39):
almost two years he hasn't played football, and so when
you look at the finish to this season, to me,
this is just sort of get through the year, work
out some of the stuff, you know, use it as
you know reps, get familiar with the offense, and then
next year, I think you're a legitimate contender. And then
if you want to the conversation about making changes next
(21:01):
year with the head coach, if they're disappointing next year,
then you can have those conversations much like they had
him in Denver with Nathaniel Hackett. Because Deshawn's already been paid.
That guy is gonna be your quarterback. But I think
next year is a real telltale sign for the Cleveland Browns.
Two pros and a cup of Joe here on Fox
Sports Radio, by the way, coming up in about fifteen
minutes from now. Again, we've got some hard hitting questions
in the world of sports and beyond, because it is
(21:23):
a big weekend, a big weekend for many of you
out there, and we're gonna get to the bottom of
it here on FS are all right, so there's a
report out and this sort of this ought to tell
you how little people understand certain fan bases in the NFL.
In fact, I would say in sports. But since its
NFL season, and I mean, who really cares about some
(21:45):
of the craft going on in the NBA. I mean
I saw there was like seventeen players suspended for some
fight between the Magic and the Pistons where some guy
may or may not have gotten knocked out. Who the
hell knows, But point being, it's NFL season, it's football season,
and so there's report out here, and it just is
another indication as to why certain people have no understanding
(22:05):
as to what you actually give a crap about as
a fan. So Pete Famil of ESPN reported the Big
Ten commissioner Kevin Warren is a strong candidate to be
the next president of the Chicago Bears. Now they noted
his previous experience in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings.
Apparently he played a key role into getting a new
(22:26):
stadium built for the Minnesota Vikings. By the way, if
anybody hadn't seen some of the early reports on that
stadium was basically basically a bird nuke. I mean, birds
were dying left and right because of the way the
stadium is designed. They didn't realize that it was like
reflective glass. So birds were just flying along. It's like
(22:53):
that blue field that Boise State. Birds were dive bombing
that blue field because they thought it was a body
of water. Thud. Did you imagine that, like some bird
just hanging out called, Oh man, I'm I'd kill for
just just some water. Just give me some water. Hey,
what's that down there? That's where the closer I get
(23:15):
it looks like that's a pylonof But appairly the stadium
design of Minnesota, birds were just flying right into it,
just you know, just getting disintegrated, flying into the stadium.
So Kevin Warren was responsible for that, all right. So
you could indirectly say that Kevin Warren might have been
responsible if he was playing a major role and getting
(23:37):
that stadium bill for the Vikings. Kevin Warren is you know,
it could be held somewhat accountable for the killing of
birds in the Minnesota Minneapolis area. But again I'm not
here to point fingers whatever. Alright, So he's got experience
in the NFL, was respected with this time with the
Minnesota Vikings. Par laid that into the commissioner the Big Ten.
(23:58):
Also look give him credit TV deal for the Big
Ten massive. It's why U, C, l A and USC
grabbed their crotch and told the Pack twelve to to
you know what to do with it, and we're gonna
go on to the Big ten because we want to
go ahead and make some money and we can make
seventy million dollars and you guys can't do that. And
part of it was TV rights. And look, the Big
(24:19):
Ten product over the past couple of years. I've said
this on the air and it's not trying to ball
wash Brady Quinn who works for Big New kickoffer for Fox,
but the Big Ten product and the presentation of games
has been absolutely fantastic. Like you can say whatever you
wanted at the SEC and well, it's better teams, it's
better football. That's fine. From an entertainment standpoint, the Big
Ten has been phenomenal. Now, it would be nice if
(24:43):
Iowa scored a touchdown once or twice. That would be cool.
That would be a lot of fun for everybody. But
some people like defensive football. Apparently that's still a thing
in Iowa. So you know, it gives you time to
go make a crop circle. Iowa goes on some ninety
five yard drive that eats up two and a half
nurs All right, here's the thing. All of that's great. Now,
(25:03):
Kevin Warren's handling of the COVID year and the start
of that year less than ideal. He got a lot
of criticism for it, and he probably should have. You
got your own players from your conference who are petitioning,
let us play, let us play, and they finally rolled
it out and they got like some six or seven
game season and it was just a complete mess. But
a lot of people made a lot of mistakes during COVID.
(25:26):
You know, there was a lot of misinformation out there. Now,
it's weird some of those people who spread that misinformation
during the heat of COVID for some reason that you
don't really hear from all that much anymore. It's weird.
Some it's weird. It's like, you know, upon further review,
but don't worry about Hey, what about this over here?
Happy all days? Okay? Cool? Yeah, but what about this?
You guys told us to do this, and yet upon
(25:48):
further review, you have a never mind that. How about
those Southwest cancelations? Okay, all right, let's play this game then.
So Kevin Warrens had kind of an up and down,
but he has had success. He got the he helped
with the Vikings getting their new stadium, he helped get
the TV deal done for the Big Ten. And here's
the best part about this rumor that he's a strong
(26:08):
candidate to be the next president of the Chicago Bears.
Bears fans don't care like, they don't care, like, don't care. Oh,
Kevin Warren is gonna be the next neat. How about
we put together some sort of an offensive line and
add some talent around Justin Fields so he doesn't get killed.
(26:32):
That's what Bears fans care about. They don't care about,
is the next president going to add some protection to
Justin Fields because we feel like we've got a franchise
caliber quarterback and he's got nothing around him. They don't
care who's the next president. Nobody cares. What about this
(26:53):
new stadium they're gonna build, don't care? Keep the one
you got. Figure out a way to make the taxi
and uber lions here to get to outside the stadium.
Don't make us walk two and a half miles through
Grant Park while people are slinging T shirts on the
side of the park for five dollars. That's say Icago
(27:13):
Bears because the sea is missing in the front. Like
nobody like, figure that stuff out. Make it to where
you don't go to use the bathroom at halftime, and
you come out and you're already two plays in to
the opening drive of the second half, Like, figure that
stuff out. Nobody cares who the next president is. Like, well,
(27:35):
you know, we're not ready to comment on it, but
you know, Kevin Warren does have a lot of credentials. Okay, cool,
what about what's happening now? The team's terrible. There's a
significant lack of talent on the roster. You've traded away
all your best players like Roquan Smith and Robert Quinn
and Khalil mac and all these guys. None of those
(27:56):
guys you you wanted any part of here. You've basically
been tearing this thing down to the studs. But you
do have a quarterback you should feel optimistic about. He's
one of the most exciting players in the league. Every
game justin fields, rips off a run or look. A
lot of people say, well, he can't throw the ball, dude,
watch the games. He makes some throws that there's not
(28:18):
a lot of guys in the league can make. But
he's got nothing around him. And that's not to discredit
that the players on that roster, but they've been put
in a terrible spot. But the Bears roll out and
this news story comes out, and it's like, well, you know,
but Kevin Warren might be the next president. Don't give
a crap. Figure out a way to protect justin fields.
Hopefully you're landing a top tier draft pick, or you
(28:41):
trade back because somebody wants one of these quarterbacks coming out,
and let's have that conversation. But there's just like another
indicator that certain teams and certain organizations have no idea
what the fan base actually cares about, because if they did,
they'd realize, yeah, this is kind of whatever, Like okay, cool,
the next president, you know what I care about? Like,
can you add some pieces around him? Can you give
(29:02):
him like a legitimate wide receiver you traded for Chase Claypool,
what else you got? Mooney's injured, all of these Like
that's what fans care about. They don't care about this stuff.

be back after the weekend. Here so don't worry about it.
By the way, coming up top the next hour, about
fifteen minutes from now, we're going to get into one
(30:29):
team in the NFL who finds themselves in an impossible spot,
an impossible spot. We'll get to that team for you
again fifteen minutes from now from the tire rack dot
Com studios. But you know, we're thinking about it obviously.
With the holidays kind of a hodgepodge, the weeks a
little different. Normally, every single week we have this thing
(30:49):
we do called would you Rather? And there's some things
from the world of sports and beyond, and we bounce
it around and say would you rather? Be easy questions,
but we figured, you know what, final show of the
year on this program for us here at FSR, And
so we thought, why don't we just send you off
into the weekend with a special Friday edition of this
(31:15):
would you rather? Your random topics, sports or otherwise? All right,
lead to laugh, what the hell do we got? All right, fellas,
we're gonna do a little obviously you queued it up
a little New Year's edition of would you Rather? We're
gonna start a baseline here of would you rather go
to a party? For New Year's Eve or just chill
at home on the couch with your significant other watch
(31:35):
fireworks on the tube. I rather just hanging at at
home parties on New Year's Eve, or I just I
said it earlier. They're not. It's just it's so overrated, dude, Like,
and what's the point? Yeah, you party your ass off,
you get to midnight and then what Happy New Year? Yeah?
Well like they were, they were doing this three hours
ago in New York. Like what, I just the whole
(31:58):
thing is just such a letdown. What you think, like
you're gonna have these big ragers, these parties, and it's
like like you end up having these parties and it
gets to like twelve fifteen and you're like, okay, cool
now what it's just a normal party, Like like you're
watching you're watching some ball drop in New York that
dropped three hours ago. Maybe we were younger, Yeah, but
(32:21):
I mean, look, you gotta go through it. Everybody's got
to go through it. But I just I don't know, man,
I don't know that I've made it to midnight in
a couple of years. And I don't know that I've
watched I told you guys this, my wife watches the
Spanish version of New Year's Eve on like Telemundo or
somewhere like that, and uh, I'll just say this it is.
(32:45):
That's a that's a hell of a menu. They put
to l A, Miami, Los Angelesno, man, there's York they do, uh,
Mexico City. You know. In fact, it doesn't matter really
where to pick a card in any card it's coming
up ass you're looking at. So what about you guys,
you're going to house party, you're going to a bar.
(33:07):
I definitely stay home, just out. Yeah, it's kind of
kind of overrated, you know. I just I don't know,
I've never really been into it. I'll try to go
to the local bar. Well, there's a stunner shock. You're
gonna overcharge you. What are you gonna go for? Yeah?
I think it's overpriced. That's the other thing. Definitely don't
go to anything that you know has a cover or anything.
(33:27):
But yeah, everything usually New Year's Eve, and they usually
do some New Year's Eve package where they're like, we'll
give you a bottle of champagne, two glasses, and you
get in you have to be dressed up for fifty dollars.
It's like Okay, First of all, that bottle of champagne's
two dollars at like Total Wine or Bevmo or you
can go to a supermarket and get it, and and
(33:48):
the the glasses. You can get it the dollar store.
And why do I need to pay fifty dollars to
get into some place I go during the week for
free to get happy hour when there's like some random
basketball game on, Like, come on, man, let play a
rip off. But if you want to support your local establishment,
please do so. A lot of a lot of places
are still struggling. Come out of code of a COVID.
(34:09):
What else we got? Lee? All right, say you have
to go big? Would you rather spend New Year's in
study California going to the Rose Parade the Rose Bowl?
This year we got Utah, Penn State or rainy New
York City Times Square and then the next day you
got to go to uh colts at Giants. Oh jeez,
(34:30):
I would say, l A, yeah, god man, Times Square
just seems like you're just around a bunch of people
in the cold that you don't really want to be around.
Doesn't seem very comfortable. No, I just kinda I always
wonder what do they do if they have to go
to the bathroom. I think about that all the time.
(34:51):
There's no there's local Um. Yeah, I had a buddy
who went, yea, now they got enough porta potties? Or
is it like when Wrigley Field. Wrigley Field when they
were working on the outfield, so they had everybody sitting
just down the third base line and behind home plate,
so there were no outfield seats, and they forgot to
(35:11):
they forgot to think out that, you know what, with
this many people on this side, we may not have
enough bathrooms for everybody like we normally do. So everybody
was filtering to like a couple of bathrooms because they
were also doing some remodeling on those. And so my
brother was at the game and he said he walked
by just empty beer cups filled with urine because they
had nowhere to go, and they weren't letting you back
(35:32):
into the stadium early on, so like if you wanted
to go to one of the bars across the street
to use the bathroom, they couldn't get back into the
into the to Wrigley Field because you're not allowed re entry.
And finally they realized like about the third or fourth ditting. Yeah,
it might as well start letting people back in because
they got to go use the bathroom somewhere. So if
I mean, if they've got stuff figured out, but also
(35:53):
if you're that bundled up in the cold, it's gonna
take a while to remove some things to try and
get certain stuff done. Forbid, you have like a bad
street taco or something like that. There's lots of room.
Those porta pines are very comfortable. Yeah, I think you can.
You know, you don't have to get your your phone out?
That is true. Why why are there's still no lights
(36:15):
inside a porta potty? In certain porta potties you go
to know that's that's a good point, Eddie. Like some
of them when you close the door like a little
idle turn off. But a lot of them are still
pitch black. How many people have dropped their phones out? Yeah,
I'm not picking it back up. Sorry, you want to
get a hold of me, I'll be at the pay phone.
I'm not picking my phone up out of a port
(36:36):
of john. That happening? What else? All right? We all
know these Southwest cancelations. Would you rather have missed your
flight but kept your luggage or lost your luggage, but
made your flight back home. Miss my flight? Yeah, somebody
who's had luggage disappear. That sucks, man, that really sucks.
(36:59):
I'd say, by to the luggage. I don't have anything
in there that's that valuable anyway. I certainly don't have
any good clothes in there. I don't dress very well.
There's nothing I can't There's nothing in there I can't
replace easily, So I'll take the flight and buy some
new stuff. Now do you always check a bag or
do you do carry on? I always check a bag, yeah,
because it's easier to get around the airport when you
(37:21):
don't have to like carry this bag around. But there
is that chance that well, that thing's gonna end up
somewhere else, like or or you may not actually get
it back. Never check a bag, yeah, yeah, Lee does
he travels light? I mean you just kind of throw
stuff in a bag and then roll like I I've
done that. I try and do that as often as possible,
but you know, sometimes it's tough. What else, all right?
(37:42):
Would you rather make your own New Year's resolution stick
to it or make your New Year's resolution for your
significant other? But they have to make one for you. Too.
I'd rather do my own. Yeah, I'm not, because I
can already tell you what the other one would be,
and I'm not interested. I'm late. Listen to you. If
you're know, if you're not happy with my flaws, I
(38:03):
don't want to tell you. We're a little bit a
bit late in the game, all right, So I'm not
I'm not leaving it up to anybody else to decide
my fate. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
