the way tire buying should be. So obviously a look
back on wild card we get in the NFL. We'll
get another game to play with coming up later on
between the Cowboys and the Bucks. And you're looking around
and you're seeing some of the results and you know
you gotta feel good for all the teams in advance.

(01:56):
And then there's the Buffalo Bills, and you look at
the Bills and you can I don't know how I
feel about the Buffalo Bills advancing after what happened yesterday
in their game with the Miami Dolphins. Josh Allen did
not play well and Buffalo struggled at times against Skyler Thompson,
a seventh round quarterback at home. And that's another one.

(02:17):
We talked about the situation in Baltimore and and how
that would have looked different at the starting quarterback was there.
And we're gonna have more on that from your discussion
with t. J. Hush Man Zada on that situation in Baltimore.
I'm pretty confident in saying if two a ton of
Balo is the quarterback for the Dolphins, yesterday they beat
the Buffalo Bills, spicy yeah, I think I think they

(02:38):
beat the Bills. I know the Bills have been going
through a lot. There's you know, emotions running high with
the Damar Hamlin stuff. But Buffalo did not look good yesterday.
They didn't. But sometimes you gotta get an ugly one,
like when they say you're a team of destiny, you don't.
Sometimes you just have to have that one, maybe even
two games where it's like it could have gone either way,

(03:02):
or you could have would have should have lost, and
you didn't for one reason or another, and that made
the difference, you know, and that might have been their
game yesterday. Now I will say moving forward that certainly
is you gotta be concerned if you're the Bills, because
I think they're an ability to run the ball is

(03:24):
really putting a lot of pressure on Josh Allen to
be able to overcompensate for that in his own running ability,
as well as them being able to pass the ball.
So it's defense alan against against the run, and make
sure you're you're limiting what he's able to do in

(03:45):
the passing game, which really in a lot of ways,
you could kind of zone them up. You can mix,
you can combo coverages. You know, jump on someone like Digs,
bracket him up, man up the other guys. Sometimes people
you know, go two different directions with coverages. Either you're
gonna man up the guy that you feel is most

(04:06):
dangerous and you zone up away from that, or you
zone up and you brack it up the most dangerous
receiver and you man up the guys that are less important.
And and so to me, it just looks as though
teams had kind of have adjusted what they're doing defensively

(04:29):
to the bills. And if Josh Allen has to win
the game on his arm, I think it's it's seemingly
right now may be difficult for him to do so
it I mean, he had three turnovers yesterday, he had
another couple of fumbles that that you know, they ended
up retaining, and they were getting after him. I think

(04:49):
they got him seven times. There were seven sacks on
the Miami side, so they were getting after him a
little bit, but he's been a turnover machine this year.
I mean he's got over twenty on the season and
regular season between interceptions and fumbles, and like, look, i
mean you can see games can change because of a turnover,
especially in the postseason. We could be having a whole

(05:11):
different conversation about Cincinnati and Baltimore if not for what
happened last night in that game and the scoop and
score from the half yard line that went the other
way for Cincinnati. That's a completely different football game if
that doesn't happen. And Josh Allen turns the ball over
way too much, and and it came into the season
and people were talking about m v P, m v P,

(05:34):
you know, I mean, it's a it's a foregone conclusion,
and it's just it's it's a problem. And you go
back to like kind of the way their season was
going after they beat Kansas City, they kind of went
through these these pitfalls. They kind of went through this
like little up and down, and they haven't been that

(05:55):
dominant team or that you know, super Bowl favorite that
everybody was looking at before the season. This that's the
team to beat in the a f C and the
team you saw to open up the year. I just
I look at the Bills and I go, coming out
of what happened last night or yesterday's game, I don't
know that I'm very confident taking on Cincinnati next week,

(06:15):
knowing the problems that have been presented being Josh Allen
and turning the football over as much as he does. Well,
we just sat there and had the conversation that the
Minnesota Vikings may have hit their ceiling a little too
early in terms of having success for their season. You know,
that could be the case for for the Buffalo Bills.

(06:38):
There's always the chance that they could have hit their
ceiling and they're going to have the fight through and
and listen, Cincinnati didn't have the most impressive showing either.
So now we're talking about and we're talking about a
lot of different elements going into this game. Obviously, this

(06:59):
is the Damar Hambling game. It will forever be known
as the Damar Hamlin year, and I'm sure there's gonna
be a lot of emotions that go into this upcoming game.
I wonder is that a great equalizer to what seemingly
are two teams that came out of a struggle a

(07:23):
struggle of a first first week, right, both divisional matchups too,
the Bills and the Dolphins are in the same division,
and then you have obviously the Ravens and the Bengals.
That that in itself, Jonas presents an interesting dynamic going
into Week two of the playoffs for the simple fact

(07:45):
that how much of a toll does it take to
play a team a divisional opponent for the third time,
and take that into consideration as that maybe, just maybe
that's the reason why they had so much of a
difficulty both teams, Not just speaking on the Bills and
their struggles that they had against a familiar foe in

(08:07):
in Miami, but both groups, right, the Cincinnati Bengals going
against a familiar bully, not not the ones that they
generally beat. It's generally the team that beats up on
them a little bit. So maybe that's it. Maybe it's
just the idea of them being so familiar with one another.
But I just wonder the feelings of how the last

(08:31):
time these two teams came together and they played, you
know what, what bearing what impact on the game? You know,
may that have this week? So let me ask you this,
because they're both in the same spot Cincinnati and Buffalo.
They both played teams who were starting backup quarterbacks and
both struggled at home to win that game. Whose struggle

(08:52):
is the more concerning for you heading in the next
week with these two teams set to play in Buffalo
in the divisional round. M because I would say Buffalo
is more concerning for me. I would say Buffalo over
over the Bengals for for the simple fact that the

(09:15):
Bengals have mixing. They they have they have a lot
of talent on that team, but they can run the ball.
And I just think when you get into the playoffs,
the level of intensity, uh, the approach to detail is
much different. It's way more, way more like ratcheted up.

(09:37):
And when you look at the matchup, itself defense, defense
and running the ball is going to be to me
the piece, whether how big or not. And we saw
it with with the Giants and we saw it with
some other teams as well. During the course of these
playoff games. You gotta play defense, and you gotta be

(09:59):
able to control role some of the time of possession
in these games and protect the ball. I think I
think the team that looks better right now is definitely
the Cincinnati Bengals. I think the more concerned has to
be Brady brought this up last week and it was
very evident there's not enough. You're not getting enough up

(10:21):
front from Buffalo's defense, like Oliver and and and company.
They're pretty good, like Oliver is really good, but as
a whole, this team kind of took a step back.
The defensive unit took a step back when they lost
von Miller, and it was it's been apparent, it's been
evident since they're just not as impressive right now with

(10:46):
with what they have, and that could be the difference
as well. I could justify Cincinnati struggling against Baltimore for
a couple of reasons. Number one, obviously we talked about
the divisional component to it, but also ball. Baltimore has
got a ton of playoff experience and John Harbaugh has
been fantastic on the road as a head coach. In

(11:07):
the postseason, you knew that team was going to be
ready to go, and Tyler Huntley played really good football
last year for Baltimore. Now regrettable decision reaching for the
goal line that wasn't there, that ended up, you know,
turning the fortunes of the Baltimore Ravens in that game.
But point being, I look at Baltimore and I go,
you kind of know it. They're they're one of the

(11:28):
more stable organizations, not only in the NFL but in
sports to where you can look at Baltimore and know
exactly what you're gonna get from the Ravens. You just know,
like you know you're gonna get a good football team
that's going to be competitive. And even with Tyler Huntley,
you see the way they play and the way they
play for John Harbaugh with Buffalo, it was Skyler Thompson.

(11:51):
Like it wasn't even the backup, it was the third stringer,
a rookie, and it was a first time head coach.
And you just saw times during that game where it's
like like, what's happening here? And not every turnover was
Josh Allen's fault. I mean there was a deflection the
Cole Beasley one before halftime. I believe that was, you know,

(12:12):
a playmate on defense. There was an argument that, well,
you know, maybe that should have been p I whatever
you want to call it. I just I go back
to the original point. Josh Allen is a turnover machine
and he's gotten away with it in a lot of
situations this year, and I just feel like Cincinnati, with
the run that they went on last year, is the
last team you want to cough up a football too,

(12:33):
because we've seen Joe Burrow win big time moments on
the road. They want an a f C title game
last year on the road. And now you've got a
defense that's going to be feeling good about themselves because
they're the reason they won that game last night against
the Baltimore Ravens. I just I think if I'm Buffalo,
I'm not confident going into this game, and they're a
four and a half point favorite in most places that
you look right now. So for you degenerate gamblers out there,

(12:56):
a little offering for you here. So I'm not mad
at your your your take on it. I think it's
going to be a very very tough game for Cincinnati,
and I think it's going to be based upon them
having to fight to get out of that Baltimore Ravens game.
And you know what that's I mean, that's just part

(13:19):
of it. So again, you have two divisional opponents that
are familiar with one another in the first round of
a playoff. Who who bounces back mentally, emotionally quick enough
to to prepare for this upcoming game that has emotion
an emotional and mental connection to the game because of

(13:41):
the last the last game and how it played out
with with what took place on the field. So, I mean,
it's a great matchup, and it has a great story,
and it has a great storyline connected to it. You know,
it's like unfinished business, you know too, it's the continuation,
It's it's the conclusion of this short mini series. I

(14:05):
mean to think that there's the possibility that they could
have been bracketed in a way where they didn't see
each other, but they do and talk about the best
reality television that exists out there. Once again, the National
Football League delivers every time. The storylines that will emerge

(14:25):
this week surrounding that game in particular will be I mean,
they will be a hitliner and and yeah, it's it's
gonna be a fun watch and a fun matchup, especially
for a couple of teams that struggled yesterday and now
they get to meet up after all the backstory with
the Damar Hamlin stuff. So we will have more on

(14:46):
that game throughout the course of the week. It is too,

show about the situation with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens,
and on Saturday, you t J houshman Zada and Plexico Burris,

(16:17):
you guys have the show up on game You come on.
That's not true. Listen. You know you guys are the
are the main course. And then I'm like, you know
one of those like little dessert trades they bring out
afterwards and they go, all right, you want like a
half half a piece of cheesecake for seventy eight dollars,
you know, something like that. But, um, you guys were
talking about the situation and t J. Houshman Zada who

(16:41):
long time Cincinnati Bengal actually Baltimore Ravens, and uh t
J had this to say here on Saturday. This was
on up on Game of LaVar Arrington. T J. Houshman's
outa Plexico Burrus on Fox Sports Radio. They feel Lamar
is ready to play. That's not my opinion. I was
told this. They feel Lamar is ready to play, and

(17:01):
he's not playing. And they offer Lamar the second most
guaranteed money in the history in the NFL. That was
behind Deshaun Watson. Obviously, Lamar wants a fully guaranteed contract,
and so that's why it's the second most guaranteed money
in the history of the league because they're not going
to guarantee the entirety of the contract. Lamar wants a

(17:23):
guaranteed contract. The NFL p A is pushing for him
to get a guaranteed contract. I don't believe the Ravens
are gonna fold on that and give him a fully
guaranteed contract. And so now you're playing this game of
County mouse Man. Who's gonna come out on top. The

(17:43):
Ravens need Lamar Jackson. That's the problem. When he plays,
they win. When he plays, they average over twenty points
a game. When he does not play, they don't win
as much and a average I believe it's like ten
points less what they had another quarterback than Lamar Jackson.

(18:03):
And when Lamar Jackson one MVP. The Ravens have had
for three years to show him we want you to
be our long term quarterback. And if you have to
do that, you've had so much time and you can say, yeah,

(18:24):
Lamar is ready to play. He may be ready to play,
but Lamar is not gonna play because he feels like
what I want and what I feel like I've earned
and deserve, you're not giving it to me. So that
was t J. Houshman Zada from up on Game with
LaVar Arrington. T jm flexy o'berus's past Saturday, the average
over twenty points. Yeah, they scored seventeen yesterday. They're winning

(18:47):
that game there. If Lamar Jackson's in the game, I mean,
that's like we can you know, people can try and
spin it anyway they want to talk about it. But
if Lamar Jackson is healthy enough to play in that game,
or if he's willing to play in that game with
his health being what it is, I think Baltimore wins
that game. And I agree. I couldn't agree more. I

(19:12):
just and then it makes you think, after hearing that
type of a sound bite, it makes you wonder, did
he achieve did he accomplish what he set out to do,
which is, Okay, you don't want to pay me, here's
what happens. Ian Rapp, before to the NFL Network said
this morning that they do still view Lamar Jackson as

(19:34):
a franchise quarterback and they are going to try and
sign him do a long term deal this offseason. Well,
that's cool and all. They tried that last offseason and
it didn't work. Yeah, and it it feels like we're
heading in a direction where somewhat franchised probably going to
happen if they can't get that deal done, and then

(19:56):
we just continue to play this thing out. And you
can do you see a s al or camp to that.
When it comes to Dak Prescott. Dak Prescott did the
same thing. And what's interesting is Dak Prescott after he
signed the franchise tag ended up suffering that injury, broke
his broke his leg and they still gave him. Yeah,
but it wasn't the most it wasn't the most lucrative contract,

(20:19):
and it wasn't the most guaranteed money contract. And I
got used for Lamar Jackson is better than Dak Prescott.
He's a former m v P and if anybody's got
a conversation to have about the type of money that
you want. He's had a better carect like, Lamar Jackson's
better than Deshaun Watson. He has had a better career career.
He's got more credentials in Deshaun Watson. I can understand

(20:43):
why Lamar Jackson is asking for what he's asking for.
I just don't know that Baltimore is going to budge
off where they were, and then that brings up the discussion.
Then what happens long term with Lamar. What happens long
term is he's going to play under the franchise tag
for as long as they can do so, and it's
going to be a long, painful process that he's going

(21:07):
to have to go through. It's almost like they can
leverage the franchise tag to force Lamar Jackson into understanding
that you need to take the contract they are offering you.
There is no loss, there is absolutely no loss, and

(21:29):
getting the second highest guaranteed contract of a quarterback in
the league, there is no loss in that. There's no loss,
and and in the end, you you solidify, You solidify
any type of doubt just because you I mean, listen,

(21:50):
Deshaun Watson has that that fully guaranteed contract. There are
other quarterbacks that are that can you can say are
better than than Deshaun Watson in the league right now,
they do not have a higher guaranteed contract than the
Shaun Watson. So Lamar Jackson is not alone in that sentiment.

(22:11):
Deshaun Watson's the third best quarterback in his own division,
like like Burrows better, Lamar Jackson's better, Like I mean,
and than that, you got Kenny Pickett and and it's
still and and that's that's the contract he got. I
just let me ask you this though, if because you know,
the discussion about is he going to get a long

(22:32):
term deal? Uh, you know what he's going to get
from Baltimore, the franchise tag like putting that because that's
going to be a discussion point until something gets done,
or if nothing gets done, that will still be the
conversation throughout the course of the off season. But when
it comes to t J saying they feel he can
play and he's not playing, I think that's hours the relationship.

(22:55):
I see and and and I agree with you, and
I wonder how does that land for teammates, Because look,
I've heard you and Brady talked about this before, to
where when a teammate is having a discussion about a
contractor wants to get paid, you want all of your
teammates to make as much money as possible. But when
it comes to a playoff game and you've got a

(23:16):
guy who can play but he's choosing not to because
of the contract, and then you find out that the
money he was offered is leaps and bounds more than
anybody else on that team is making. How would that
land with you as a teammate of la Martison. I
think that will hit different guys in a different ways.

(23:37):
Some will care about it, some won't. Some will say,
you know, stay out of his pocket and his business affairs,
keep it football, and some some will say that it's selfish.
There there will be all kinds of different opinions. But
I think I think at this point and and professionals,

(23:58):
they're aware. We've always known it's a business once you
get to the league, but I think guys are way
more aware, way more enlightened earlier about the business how
deep of a business it is to be a National
Football league football players. So while I will say some
people may have had hard feelings about it because well,

(24:21):
obviously they would probably be preparing for this upcoming week's
game because they would have probably knocked off the Bengals.
I think they would be upset. I think there's some
people that harbor hard feelings because they're sitting in that
locker room, like if we had Lamar, we would have
won this game. But I think where it really hits

(24:42):
is with Hardball, with the coaching staff, with the owner
of Brasati. I think it really hits those guys really
hard because you could tell by the sound bites that
that Hardball was having in the week's upcoming weeks too
to the playoffs, that he believed that Lamar Jackson was

(25:04):
going to be available. I think if you and his
heart of hearts, you can hear it in his voice
that he thought and expected and anticipated that Lamar Jackson
would rise up and step up and be ready to
play in the playoffs. We did two on this show.
We thought when he didn't play the final week of
the season, it was like, Okay, that's yeah, buy him

(25:27):
an extra week that will put him at this at
the six week mark, and then he'll be ready for
the playoff game. And I think we even asked the
question on this show, do you think Lamar Jackson plays
in the postseason? I think we all said yes, because yeah,
you think, yeah, that's that's Lamar. He's gonna He's gonna
go out there, He's gonna get it out. Nobody questions
the guy's toughness. But man, like, just to see the

(25:51):
comments from t J, who is not going to sit
here and just make up a story on the air
like he's not. He's connected to both organizations, the Bangs
and the Evans and people people talk to him. Yeah,
and and the idea. So him coming out and saying that,
I think just completely changes the discussion to where, now, Okay,
this this really is about business. And if he was

(26:13):
able to play and didn't play that that's That's the
one thing I wonder how does that land for other
people within it? And then you could tell by the
tone that Hardball took in his interviews after this became
common knowledge, even them asking him about the tweet that
that Lamar Jackson gave like you're giving an update, which,

(26:34):
by the way, it was. It was a bad decision
on Baltimore's part to not report what his what his
current state was for the simple fact that if it
was if it was taking this long for them to
get to the same page, they had to have an

(26:55):
idea from his practice, what what or lack thereof, and
pratt to thing that where this was or wasn't going.
And as soon as I saw that Lamar wasn't practicing,
I would have got out ahead of this because the
further you get, the closer you get to the game
and he's not practicing, the more questions you're gonna have

(27:17):
to ask and answer in terms of what's going on
with Lamar Jackson. He's your best player. Why do you
guys not have more explanation on what's going on with him?
Did you feel the same, because I I thought that
them being as vague as they were about the injury
update was them playing kind of being a little bit

(27:39):
coy about the fact that, yeah, he's gonna be out
there for the postseason, but we don't want to let
on the fact that he is going to be available possible.
I thought that was where we were headed with all this,
and then now you look back and you just go
the whole The handling of it was so odd, like
the messaging was weird, and it makes it horrible, and
I gotta me it makes it a very very bad

(28:04):
look for Baltimore that Lamar Jackson was the one who
came out and said what his prognosis and what his
current state was health wise. It's a bad look. It's
odd man and so well and then now it to me,
it exposes and unraveling of a relationship. And I've been

(28:30):
a part of a degeneration of of of a relationship,
believe you me. And it can it can go back
quick boom done. It's done. But did you see your guy?
R G three commented on it. What he says, well,
just basically that Lamar Jackson is doing the right thing.
Don't go out there and risk a further injury. That's
what he said. And he posted a picture of himself, Um,

(28:53):
you know playing with with the torn ligaments in the
playoff game in Washington and how it changed the course
of his career or well, I did, it definitely did.
But man, RG three working, It's got to be about
r G three still it's still working on that book
though I haven't seen that, haven't seen that book relation anything.

(29:13):
I don't have anything for that. But what I will
say is if that is indeed the case, then this
should be a pretty interesting offseason because your your season
has come to an end, and basically a guy that
is the franchise of your team, you're not paying him
what he wants to be paid as the franchise. He's

(29:36):
not playing because he doesn't have the contract, and you
have to live with what just took place. And somebody,
whether it's the owner, whether it's the hey coach, whether
it's all of the above, they're all and let's include
Lamar Jackson, they're all upset. Everybody's upset. Remember when j
Cutler left the NFC title game because he hurt his knee,

(29:58):
and there were some people that said he could have
came back in, and then you go back and you
look and he tried to play after he suffered the
injury and it was a legitimate m c L injury.
He couldn't finish the game and he got buried by
people for that. And then Carson Wentz, who in a
playoff game with the Eagles, his first playoff game with
Philly after they won that Super Bowl. Carson Wentz actually

(30:21):
called himself out of the game against Seattle because he
took a hit to the back of the head from
Jadevion Clowney. And there were some people that said, man,
in a playoff game, you called yourself out for a concussion,
when when the thought was man, there's a lot of
players who would have just kept their mouth shut because
they wanted to play in the game. Well, that was
in the middle of games in the playoffs. Lamar didn't

(30:42):
even get to that point. No, Lamar didn't make it
to the Yeah, he did, he didn't travel. So I
just if if other players get criticized in the middle
of playoff games from not being able to continue, what
about somebody who's not even able to travel to the game.
I mean, I don't I don't think are calling for that.
I think you're pointing out the obvious. But I just

(31:03):
gotta be honest with you, I do. I mean, it's
probably coming. It's it's probably well on its way. Where
the idea because the people are gonna hit the worst
the people is going to rub the wrong way. The
worst is going to be the fans. It's going to
be the fans that are rubbed the wrong way by this.

(31:24):
And they could go either way. They could support they
could support Lamar Jaxon in this or they could go
against Lamar Jackson either way. Um, it's not. It just
doesn't seem like internally at the Ravens facility, this has
a real opportunity of ending well. Two Pros and a

You should do on the up on Game Network. You
should do a gambling uh portion and call it picks City,
you know what I mean, a little play on sticks city.
There's so many different things I'm playing on with sticks. Yeah,

You got it than sticks. You're traveling nothing, no issues
at the airport, nothing on the plane, nothing good for you.
Tired of people bitching about their travel lead the lab
was on a ski trip over the weekend. How that go? Lee? Oh,
I'm a little banged up. I lost my gloves all

(35:44):
going up a double black diamond, lost my gloves and
I had to come back black, double black diamond. My
hands are stunner. You were partaking there sing like lived
dangerously my friends. Yea, so my hands are a little star.
Start up a whole lot of second. How do you
lose your gloves? Well, you know you're you're on the chair,

(36:06):
you're pulling out the yager, mister, you pouring yourself a
little drink, and the gloves fell off the chair while
you were in the sky. The gloves fell off the
chair because you were drinking yager. Yeah. Really, you know,
it's crazy. Whence the last time you had yager, mister?
So when I went a long time once, I throw

(36:28):
up off of it. I don't drink it anymore. So
one time, when I was skiing, when I was in
high school, I had I hadn't been skiing before, and
so I started living like the life of the privilege.
Once people figured I was good at at football, so
it his family. I'm up there skiing and I got
on the dip for the first time, and when I

(36:50):
was starting to go up the lift, my my, my
ski got caught and it came off, and we're still
going and I jumped off, jumped off some eyes off.
That's the lift to get it was. It wasn't super

(37:12):
super high, but it was. It was hot, it was
funny as hell, high enough put it to you like that.
It wasn't like, oh, he just jumped off, he you know,
he just got on. He jumped off. It was like
I got on. It scooped you right then you start
immediately going up my my ski it's the snow it
comes off. I'm like, oh, there's my ski. I jumped

(37:33):
off people were like, I saw me jump there, Like
I disappeared in that snow. Black man down, oh man, Yeah,
it's far down. Not not recommended. Yeah, they frowned upon
that rightly. Yeah. Nothing, not the best move there. Yeah,

(37:54):

back though. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
