Um he Lee, what do you eat last night? Oh?

(01:12):
Some spicy Mediterranean? He did it on purpose to like
he's going outrage just with his food selections. Have you guys, ever,
have you ever taken your kids to a daycare school
like the preschools, Like they're in school, but it's not
really school because they're too young. It's like just like
a daycare. Really we're they're getting educated. He's too young

(01:35):
and I wouldn't trust him there anyways. Well, well, for
for some people, that that's what they do, and it
has a very distinct smell to it. It's like an
interesting smell that you never forget. Um Lee has successfully
made the studio smell like a a pre preschool day kid.

(01:57):
So if that Mediterranean food is what this smell is,
then it's kind of like they make it out of
the same stuff they make baby food. I guess you know.
Let me tell you something those school when I was
a janitor. I was a janitor in high school, and
I've worked during the summer. I picked up some hours
to make some extra money. And one of the jobs

(02:19):
we had to do is we had to steam clean
the carpet at a kindergarten. Oh my god, it smells.
But because those kids during naptime, some of them were like, yeah,
this will do right here. I'm not using the batter.
I've just got to sleep and I had a lunch
a bowl and I'm ready to ready to call it

(02:40):
today and uh yeah we had to cleard to clean
up and steam room and it is awful. So I mean,
if you guys could have heard the sound that Lee's
body mate, um, you guys would send him well wishes
and that's all I said. Yeah, Lee, what is what
do you say? You ate spicyran? Yeah, street cart, street cart,

(03:01):
schwarmer wrap. I'm gonna send a picture to you guys
because it was delicious. It was an interesting choice last
night between that in Sri Lankan Asian fusion. So you
ate street food, No, it's like it's a Mediterranean schwarm.
He's got street It's a place called Spits. I'm not

(03:22):
sure that a restaurant. It is a restaurant. It's a
chain out here. I think it's I'm not sure if
it's national or not. Yeah, he had he had to
wreckt them in Minnesota and Texas. What made you want
to get that last night? Well, you know, I've actually
been eating healthy lately, so it was, uh, it smells healthy,

(03:47):
so I'm trying to avoid you know, bread sugars, but
you gotta wrap. But I got well, it was a yeah,
it was like a green tortilla rap cold. Uh well,
I got it spicy, so it was spicy, was hot?
It was hot, I mean, but was warm. Oh yeah,
I can't eat Yeah, I eat it real hot. I'm

(04:08):
looking at about this the temp Just do Jonasis died.
Just don't eat anything. Then you'd sign up for debate
if it's healthier, Brady, what's that book we're working on,
that new diet book. Put on the floor forward, put
down and put it down. But that then the problem
is people are just start using spoons and other other
things that it's just put it down. The lead needs

(04:30):
to take that approach with his backside to put it down.
Put your backside down, leave your backside at home. That's
just an advertiser. You started a war, LaVar, that is,
I mean, I did I did bring down the house
the other day. What makes you say something like that,
like did you fault in the car on the way
over And you're just like, oh, it gets worse than
what he's thinking. Who yeah, I don't know. I was

(04:54):
I was pulling my punches yesterday. I didn't want to
I didn't want to come in you know, with a
week jab, so I saved it up a little bit
up for those later rounds. It's good. You're like, I
didn't bring into lasagna man and garlic bread. But I
was like, I'm trying to eat healthy, healthy. I had
clam chowder and I had y'all all teed up for.

(05:15):
But it just you know, you put Tabasco on your
clam chowder. Business happened way too early. Yeah, Tabasco and
your clam chowder is still the way. Clam chowder does
not appetizing to me. I feel like if it smells
bad on the way and it smell worse in the way. Oh,
I'll tell you what. I had them did the right
if it would have been just an hour later and

(05:36):
I got I got burd oh so good. The other
day Berto was dry heaven. I had him good. It
was good good. That's that's way that you know the
control room foight back. It's strike when they strike back.
He struck back. It was horrible. Um by the way,
I didn't know if you guys saw this not, but

(05:57):
somebody did point out that with the Australian and going on,
you know, maybe lie Bet Jesus will make an appearance
just somebody on Twitter pointed that out and lie bet
Jesus did respond. So I'm just saying, listen, that that
was that was sent around. I don't I don't know
why you pay attention to that. I don't know, listen.
I mean, you know, I don't ask for this, these responsibilities,

(06:17):
But why do you have a tweet? I just don't
want to see him man, Yeah, I don't want to
see him on our show. He all he does is
pick out losers. That's all he does. He's a good
looking dude, though, yet Jesus, yeah, damn ready is um So,
I don't know if you guys were aware of this.

(06:39):
Sean Payton is available if anybody needs a head coach.
All right, so good. I'm not sure if you guys
were aware of that. But according to the Washington Post,
uh David Tepper, the owner of the Carolina Panthers, he
said he would give Sean Payton just about anything he
wants to go to Carolina. Now. On the subject of that,
Jeff duncan and who covers the Saints for the New

(07:01):
Orleans Times Picayune, he says that Peyton is seeking reportedly
a four year deal worth between twenty to twenty five
million dollars a season. So if you want Sean Payton,
it's not gonna be cheap and you're gonna have to
make some arrangements with the New Orleans Saints to do so.
So there's the latest on Sean Payton wants back in
Coaching Volume eighteen. I believe so is he getting to

(07:25):
the point where he's like putting himself out there too much?
Like maybe you know what I'm saying, Like I feel
like that he's almost doing it too much, to the
point where like now it's like, wait a second, so
we kind of second guess this, Like he's kind of
talking to everyone and making it making it sure everyone
wants to have a piece of them. It's kind of like,
shouldn't he be a little more like close to the

(07:47):
vest and a little more like I want the perfect
opportunity for me. And it's you know, it's almost like
he's just willing to engage in conversation about coaching anyone,
so anywhere, anytime. Albert Briers said this a couple of
times that Sean Payton he doesn't believe that he's going
to be back, that he's going to return to broadcasting,
and then maybe next year is the real opportunity. And
I'm starting to go in that direction just because there's

(08:07):
a report out that Vic Fangio is interviewing for the
Falcons defensive coordinator job, and Fangio was supposed to be
Sean Payton's hand picked All star defensive corp. Yeah, they
so Fangio is already sniffing around at some other opportunities.
It feels like, to your point, maybe this isn't really

(08:28):
everything that has shaken out to be, and maybe Sean
Payton realizes maybe the opportunities he was looking at, like
the Chargers and the Cowboys aren't going to be there,
and so he would rather go back to Fox and
then try and do this thing again next year. That's
what it feels like at this point. But again another
day and another Sean Payton rumor. You know, I think
it's a valid point or question to ask is he

(08:50):
putting himself out there too much? I think? But then
the other side of it says, well, if you got
owners coming out saying anything to have him, I mean,
but that's just David Tepper not understanding the game, you know,
like Sean Paigne should be playing hard to get and
instead like he's just entertaining any and all things. You know,

(09:13):
but this isn't like the Vegas strip, you know, it
just sounds like social media. Just I'm just throwing it out,
like it's getting to the point where, like again, before
anything even started, even during the Damore Hamlin, you know,
everything that was going on between the more Hamling, the bills,
like he was making it public that he's he's looking
for a job, like he'd like to get back into coaching.

(09:34):
I was like, hold on, dude, we make sure this
young man's okay before you talk about you wanted to
be a head coach. I mean, he's been so outwardly
open about the entire process. I'm just saying, like I
feel like it's it's a bit much like I played
a little bit hard to get That's all I'm saying
at this point, you know, like he doesn't need to
talk to every We've got younger offensive coordinators and even

(09:56):
older ones a Daryl Bevil. They're turning down opportunities to interview.
They're like, I good, wee on that. I don't need
to take that, which probably only makes that team want
them a little bit more. Think oh man, Okay, I'll
have to move on to someone else. I guess if
the asking price is legit and and the report from
Jeff Duncan is true, and it's twenty million dollars per season,

(10:17):
that would that would lead you to believe the Broncos
make the most sense, right because they're the ones with
the most cash because the coaches salary doesn't go against
the cap. And so if you've got an ownership that
runs Walmart stepping in that that's where the Denver break. Yeah,
like just you can do whatever you want with it,
which is awesome. You know, buy a boat, take your

(10:38):
buddies out on on the lake, a boat or a ship. Yeah,
just like a boat that if the if the engine,
if the engine goes down, who cares, you know, Like
just you know, take your buddies out on a holiday weekend.
Like that's that's the tough of money I'm talking about,
you know what I mean, Brady, Like, that's the type
of money I'm talking about. That that that the Denver
Broncos have there with their ownership. You know, take take

(11:00):
your buddies out on a boat. How do you guys
think this ends? I don't. I mean, he goes back
to Fox this year. I don't think he's coaching this year,
and that's what you're saying. I think he's probably evaluating
a couple of things, right, like who he ties himself
to at quarterback, because ultimately that's what's gonna equates to
his success. I mean, Denver is attractive because the ownership,

(11:21):
the history of the organization. They do have a really
good roster. You've been a tough division, though, and it's
one where in the NFC South. You know, it got
tough when Tom Brady got there and he didn't necessarily
have a ton of success outside of the Super Bowl.
There was that string of years of what three years
or seven to nine in a row right with him
and Breeze, and then they finally started to kind of

(11:43):
find their way once they build up the roster. But
the Broncos are are in for it. I mean that
that's a tough division. So he probably could be hesitant
about Russell Wilson, maybe his ability to immediately go in
and have success in the a f C or just
in the a f C West. But and then outside
of that, you're looking around, going all right, what other
job that's open? Do you feel like I have a

(12:04):
quarterback that I'm tied to because part of what he's
maybe evaluating is who's the quarterback they're going to draft.
Who's the quarterback that that I'm gonna be working with.
Um I just think that has to be because he's
an offensive minor head coach. A big piece of the conversation.
And let's just say he does. Wait until next year.
You know, you're probably looking at whatever team is drafting

(12:26):
number one, number two overall probably has a new head
coach too, and that new head coach is gonna be
kicking Caleb Williams and he might be saying, I can
go win a super Bowl with that young man. Caleb
Williams better prospect than anybody in the draft this year. Yes,
he'd be the number one damn. Drake May might even
also be the next behind that. You just don't have

(12:49):
many concerns about either those two. And Drake May is
coming out next year too. Boys, they're both draft eligible again,
you know they would they would have the ability. I
think they come back for an additional year. But yeah, damn,
and one of them paints their fingernails, which is great
for everybody that's not that's correct. Yeah, So that's that's
Cable Williams. So he's you know, he's like the new

(13:09):
age Tim Tebow. No, he doesn't put it on the
a black strip. He puts it on by the way,
I don't know that f Utah is a biblical verse.
That's by the way. I think I've Reggie started that
before Tebow ever got in there. Reggie is the one
that used to have like the area code right six

(13:29):
nine on the the eye black there. Do you have
a sanitizer wipe next to the mic so you're not
breathing in any of the foul that is correct? So
this is what you've done, Lee, This is what you've
done because you decided to eat. I knew, I knew they.
I knew that they were going to come for I

(13:51):
mean Bert Oh almost dropped his holio on the floor
when he stuck it in the door the other day.
He couldn't get he couldn't get it, he couldn't deliver.
So I knew this was coming. So I've I've already
had my plan thought out, which was to have a
sanitizer scrub right where the microphone is. So now I

(14:12):
was burning my eyes like uh, like one of those
what are those called cute the things you breaking. The
smelling salts dip, Yeah, ammonia cap that's what it is. Yeah,
that's what smells like. It's got my eyes watering a
little bit. But I'd rather that and breathing um maybe
damaging fumes rather than his damaging fuming. You're saying right now,

(14:33):
you're killing brain cells by breathing in the air. Yes,
is right. Either way, I'm going to kill brain cells,
so I might as well smell some chloros Yeah, yeah,
there you go. Yeah, that's it. You're right, So there
it is. That's it. And I'm more I'm more concerned
that you're not breathing. Well. You put lotion on your
hands and started smelling your hands. Yeah, all right, so

(14:55):
there's that stink. Fan be sure to catch live addition,
So two Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn,
LaVar Arrington and Jonas Knocks week days at six am
Eastern three am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
I Heart Radio app. We turn it over to the
man himself, Albert Brier, senior NFL reporter at the MMQB.

(15:17):
You can get him on Twitter at Albert Brier. Nothing
can phase him on a Thursday. The way up. You
gotta go all the way out to pick up some
muffins for the kids in the morning. No problem. Your
car starts to malfunction and make beeping noises randomly, no problem,
Nothing can phase Albert Brier. What's happening? I thought I
was a little faced by the beeping. Actually I don't know.

(15:40):
I don't. I don't know if I handled that one great.
So listen, nobody noticed at all? Yeah, no, nobody, nobody
noticed whatsoever? Albert. Can I ask you how how close
were the Chargers actually to making a change at head coach.
I don't they were very close at all. I mean,

(16:01):
I you my understanding as a you know, when the
meetings on pretty quick. Um, you know, I think there's
urgency there to get the most out of Justin Herbert.
And you know, obviously this is gonna be a critical
off season for them, um making a decision on whether
or not to pay Herbert now hold off a year
on that. Um. You know, so there are a lot

(16:22):
of decisions to be made there. But um, you know,
for as much noise as there was about Sean Payton
wanting that job, and you know, Sean obviously lives out
there in l A And Um, I just I don't
know that the charges were ever going to fire a
coach two years into his contract and then go and
pay twenty million dollars for, you know, a headline coach.

(16:45):
It's just never been what they've done. So um, you
know how quickly they moved to fire Joe Lombardi and
Shane Day and Michael willhoit like, I think that's an
indication that they were moving forward very very fast for
Brandon Staylor. Can I ask this question, Albert? It seems like,
you know, Sean Payne's really making it known that he's

(17:08):
out there and he's gonna interview for all these jobs
and so forth. Is he is he putting himself out
there a little too much? I mean, don't you feel
like he should maybe play a little more hard to
get with all this and and not you know, basically
look at every single owner that gives him a call
to want to look at that franchise and coach. Or
is he the type that like he's he's taking all
this data and information, He's collecting it for the for

(17:31):
the team that he wants to go to and understanding
that he knows behind the scenes when he plays that team,
how that operation works, Like what is with just the
the I don't know that the constant um you know,
public I guess details that he's letting everyone in on.
Every single time someone asked him interview for a job, Well,

(17:51):
I ca ans, there's one or two ways you can
go with this, Brady, if you're Sean and you're doing
the job that he's doing right now for four bucks,
which is you can either pull yourself off the air altogether, right,
or you can go on the air and talk about it,
you know. And so I think that that's sort of
the hard thing is that it's you know, because he
is out there and you know, he does Colins Show

(18:14):
and he um and he you know, he's on Fox
on Sundays, Like if you're gonna stay on through the playoffs,
like and there's gonna be coaching searches going on, the
reality is it's gonna come up and it's gonna be
really awkward if you're not talking about those things, you know. So, um,
this is the way he's gone forward with it. Um.

(18:34):
I I do think there's some information gathering here, um.
And I think one of the reasons why he's taking
all these interviews because the perfect job isn't out there.
I think the perfect job was the Chargers Shop. It
would have allowed him to stay in Los Angeles and
would have given him a young quarterback. It would have,
I think, checked every box. Um because that job is
out out there. I think now he looks at it

(18:56):
and says, well, none of these jobs are per pick.
I do want to coach next year, so I'm gonna
take a hard look at every single one of them
and investigate every single one of them and make sure
I've turned over every rock. And Guys, honestly, I don't
know that he's going to coach next year. That's the thing, like,
I don't know, you know, I don't know if he's
gonna look at any of these jobs and say I

(19:18):
have to go get that job or I have to
go get that job. I just think it's sort of
it's sort of like one of those where like the
the situation that you would drop is out there. I
think that's one thing that Sean probably had to learn,
is you know, when you when you go through this
and you get fired and then you know you're the
bell of the ball. That's all great, but normally nine

(19:40):
times out of ten, there are gonna be serious problems
with jobs that come open. Otherwise they wouldn't come open.
I'm gonna switch to a different different coach. He's he's
he is coaching, and he's still in the playoffs. Mike McCarthy, um,
they delivered, Dallas deliver. I must admit I was probably

(20:03):
on the bandwagon of people that did not think that
they would. I'm still seemingly not a believer fully and
and what what they may or may not do, but
one thing is for certain, they were impressive and and
they're showing against Tampa Bay. What what are the discussions

(20:24):
out of Dallas that maybe you have have received since
since this game, because there are always the it's just
it's it's polarizing to talk about Dallas and what Dallas
has going on. And a lot of people felt like
if they lost in the first round that maybe McCarthy
was out. What what does this does this one win

(20:45):
solidify things for McCarthy moving forward. I don't think, like LaVar,
the discussion what's happening inside the building that Jerry was
talking with people in the building about pulling the flag
on Mike McCarthy. I had to discuss the sessional. Least
I heard in NFL circles was would Jerry be so
upset if they wind up, Um, if they wind up

(21:09):
losing in the first round and it happens in ugly
fashion like it happens last last year. If all that happens,
would Jerry do a one eight? You know? Like, So,
I don't think it was ever Jerry's discussing this, Jerry's
mulling this over, Jerry's vetting who's out there. I think
more than anything else, it was could Jerry do a
complete one eighty based in his age, based on how

(21:29):
long it's been since they've been to even an NFC
title game, you know? And so I don't do the
conversation was ever happening inside that building? Um, And I
do think if you look at it like unbalanced, like
I think Mike's done a pretty good job. You know.
They this year, they won twelve games, and they did
it having lost their quarterback for five games, having lost
their left tackle right before the year. They move a

(21:52):
rookie from guard out to left tackle. He plays really well, um,
you know, and I think even when you look at
his coaching staff, some of the moves he's made and
mean to make the tough decision to fire defensive coordinator
and then bringing Dan Quinn after his first year in
Dallas is a big one, you know. So I just like,
look at the job that Mike's done over his first
three years. Then look, I was very skeptical at first,

(22:13):
but I think the job he's done over his first
three years there, if these guys weren't wearing the star
in their helmet, we probably look at it a little differently.
And I understand, like Dallas is different because you know
of the high profile nature of everything that the Cowboys do. Um,
you know, but if this was just some other team
and you take the same players and you put them there,

(22:33):
and you look at the job that Mike's done, I'd
say the way he bounced back from that first year,
the way they bounced back from an ugly playoff loss
last year, the way they handled injuries this year, the
way he stocked his coaching staff is pretty good. Albert
Brier joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. You can
get him on Twitter at Albert Brier, Senior NFL reporter
at the MMQB Albert, how strained is the relationship from

(22:55):
people you've talked to how strained is the relationship between
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens right now? You know, it's weird.
I mean it's just like it feels like this went
from last year. And I know we talked about the
contract a lot during the off season last year where
it was like, okay, like there's just a fundamental disagreement

(23:15):
on the contract except itself. But there's a lot of
respect there, right, there's a lot of hey, like we
know you value privacy, we value value trust. So we're
gonna keep it quiet on our end. You didn't hear
much from Lamar's camp, and it was just he would
never seem contentious. You know, it's just a fundamental disagreement
on how to do the contract. Where one side was

(23:37):
saying we want to do a traditional quarterback contract, the
other side Lamar said, I want. I believe I deserve
something in the ballpark of what Deshaun Watson got, you know.
And so I think since then, what we've seen is
like how these things tend to get maybe a little
more personal. And I don't know that there's been any

(23:57):
sort of backbiting inside, you know between Lama are and
and and and the guys who were in the Ravens
doesn't seem that way. But like the injury, the handling
of the injury has been awfully awkward, you know, and
you know you have on one side the team trying
to protect this competitive advantage. On the other side, you know,
the player trying to defend himself. Um. You know, I

(24:17):
even think like some of the reasoning here when you
look at like why Lamar would want a fully big
guarantee contract, plays into it, because if you're a Lamar himself,
you can say, well, I just put my body on
the line for five years for you, and now you
want injury protection three years from now in the contract,
I'm gonna do with you no way, you know. So
that sort of thing can kind of go over a

(24:38):
little bit, and so I I think, at best, right
now this is very very awkward because he's finished two
years now in a row where the first three years
you could say it's risking the way they're using him.
He's not getting hurt a lot. Now the last two
years he's finished the season injured. Um, it's just a
very very complicated, awkward spot. I think they're in and
I think the biggest tell is going to be whether

(24:59):
or not they put the exclusive or the non exclusive
tag on him. The exclusive tag is gonna be I
think somewhere around forty million bucks. They've been the exclusive
tag on him. Then they're keeping him right like they're
not they'll put the exclusive tag on him just just
to trade him. They put the non exclusive tag on
and that's a different story. Now you're inviting teams to
come and sign him, do an offer sheet, um, And

(25:20):
so I think that's going to be sort of where
the rubber meets the road, where at the end of
February beginning of March, we're gonna get a very real
talent on where the Ravens stand with them are and
then you know, we go from there with three agencies
starting a couple of weeks after that. All Right, I'm
gonna try to have two quick ones with the Albert
is Lamar Jackson a Baltimore Raven next season, and I'll

(25:41):
follow up quickly with another question. I think so, yes,
I think so. I mean, I just think like when
when it comes down to it, when it comes like
nutcutting top in there, like I just don't it's hard.
Like I've seen a lot of teams in these situations.
Blay hardball and then when it when it actually comes
down to it, like you know, I think what ends
up getting a lot of these teams is like, well, yeah,

(26:04):
maybe we want to take a stand, But then what
you know, I think that then what part is going
to get them? And I think that they wind up
one way or another. Hang on to him. Okay. My
follow up is this. There was news that broke about
the University of Michigan's co offensive coordinator Matt Weiss getting
uh investigated for computer crimes. I have no idea what

(26:24):
that means, but you, being in Ohio state alum and
a super Ohio State fan, I just love to get
your thoughts on national radio. I just wonder how this
stuff would be discussed if it was happening in Coomas
and not in Arbor. You know, I don't know n
c A violations computer hacking like like hold on, hold on,

(26:45):
hold on. The n c A violations was like Jim
Harbaugh bought a kid a hamburger or something like oh
so so so bright, so Brady can can can Jim
trest a lot his wins back? Now? Then I think
a hamburger? Well, first off, that was a little bit
more rampant and I'm not gonna jump in on this
because you know him from Columbus or somebody, all right,

(27:07):
I know, but they were both. It was both about lying, right,
Uh Yeah, I think yeah, I guess the hamburger really
set them over the edge. And eight dollar burger. Yeah,
I was lying, he was lying, right, I think I
think it was lying more so than it was I
mean in trestle skates, it was definitely if he had
just if he had just confessed to it, he would
have been Okay, I think right it was Ay lied

(27:29):
about it. Well, they probably would have been punished because
it's the n c A and if you confess to something,
they may want to make sure that, even though they
didn't find out about it on their own account, they
need to punish someone for it. So I'm sure that
something would have happened. I don't think it would have
been as drastic as what took place. Yeah, yeah, I
mean I can remember the n c A A like
the n A, I think sanctioned dust for like veryble

(27:50):
having a dip in on the sideline, so something they
haven't let us. Yeah, I really thought you were gonna
just kind of wildly speculate what exactly this this computer
primes could be. Do you have any theories? Um? I
mean if you have federal investigators involved, right, UM. I
think it's you're thinking like along the lines of I

(28:11):
don't know, crypto gambling, those sorts of things. That's kind
of where my mind wandered. But I have nothing to
pack that up. It's just getting wild speculation. But it
comes better from you being at a hid state. Come
on out, like, because let's get reckless here on that morning. Hey,
al what percentage of Michigan players are cheating? Let's do that.
Let's just let's get I mean you think maybe like

(28:34):
like cracking. I mean, I don't understand how computers like
that computer stuff works because I went to Ohio State,
so like I don't know, like maybe like maybe they
were like cracking into the Ohio state like something. That's
why I love it. He just I don't. I don't.
I don't have to. I don't have the degreed to
understanding that stuff works. So I love He just leads

(28:55):
into the snootiness of Michigan fans that love I love it.
It's so great. He's a very popular man in an
Albury's Albert Brier. Get him on Twitter at Albert Brier,
Senior NFL reporter at the mm QB Albert. We appreciate it, man.
We'll do it again next week, all right there. Add

(29:15):
be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LaVar Arrington and

Polly Foustco here with Tony Fusco. As you all know,
we're the host of the number one rated show in
all of sports talk, The Folly and Tony Fusco Shop
Numero No. Yeah, and we know why millions of people

(29:37):
tune in every week. They want to hear us talk sports,
not idiot guests who think they know more about sports
than we don't. He listened to the dummies. You don't
know crap about. This is the worst thing. He's the
shop you don't know ball. If you want to hear
how sports talk should be done, listen to The Folly

(29:58):
and Tony Fusco Show on the I Hot Radio app,
Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcast. Now. One
of the teams involved in this weekend's game, maybe the
team that looked the best over the past week was
the San Francisco forty Niners, and the San Francisco forty
Niners have an interesting situation at quarterback where they've got

(30:21):
brock Purty, who's Mr. Irrelevant, They've got Jimmy Garoppolo who
went out with an injury, and it's already been reported
by Jay Glazer that brock Purty is going to remain
the starter even if Garoppolo comes back for these playoffs
as long as it last. There's also been some speculation
about maybe Tom Brady could be interested in going to
San Francisco. Oh and by the way, they do have

(30:42):
Trey Lance, who they traded a boatload for. Tray Lance,
who they traded a bunch of picks for to move
up in the draft and take. And apparently Trey Lance
was a big fan of the move made by the
Tennessee Titans Ran Carthon, who became the Titans GM. Trey
Lance posted some quote unquote cryptic message with fingers crossed

(31:06):
with Carthon taking the job in Tennessee, and so some
people speculated could that mean that tray Lance is hoping
that Tennessee could be a landing spot for him as well? Too.
But it does bring up the question, what do you
do with Tray Lance because he's never there a relationship
between that GM and what part of the Niners front

(31:28):
office that probably was fond of Tray Lance, which is
why they gave up all those picks, But Trey Lance hasn't.
I mean, I would argue if you're just gonna look
based on what we've seen from Lance, he's looked like
the worst quarterback on that team, and you've got Brock
Party and Jimmy Garoppolo still there. Garoppolo's most likely going
to be elsewhere next year. Like what do you do?

(31:49):
Do you open it up as a quarterback competition, do
you bring in Tray Lance. Let's let's just say they
could acquire tray Lands. You've got Malik Willis on the roster. Basically,
you have two quarterbacks who you looked at, the guys
who needed development, and I don't think either of which
are ready at the moment to leader for NFL franchise.

(32:11):
So even acquiring Trey Lance, there's huge question marks about
what he is and what he will be, and Malik
Willis demonstrated that and you kind of knew that coming
into this season. So if you're the Tennessee Titans, you're
Mike Vrabel and you've got a new general manager, you're
look around going, hold on a second. We've had a

(32:32):
long run of success and you're bringing it a guy
that's not going to help us have a more solidified
quarterback spot. I mean, it almost feels like they be
more apt or more likely to sign a guy like
Jimmy Garoppolo is a free agent, even though he's got
an injury history, which Rabel's gonna hate because he he
loves guys who played through stuff. But he's been effective

(32:54):
when he has started and he has played, and that
might be a spot that Garoppolo looks at and wants
to go to UH and go try to win a
division and make a run in the playoffs. So I
think Garoppolo of the San Francisco quarterbacks would be the
one that at least makes more sense in regards to
I think where that teams at, you know, as far
as having the ability to win that division and going

(33:15):
a playoff run still with some key pieces who are
on that roster. M H. If you hit though, and
and I didn't realize he came from San Francisco, I
don't know why I missed that, or maybe I just
wasn't really paying attention to it. If you if you
were to go there and you brought Trey Lance there

(33:36):
and you believe that in a different environment, based off
of everything Trey has had had to go through so far,
that he may be the guy, then you have the
answer for quite some time if you hit the right
Can I ask this, though, what quarterback has it not
worked for in Kyle Shanahan's system? Like that might be
the biggest red flag. If you can't look good in

(33:58):
Kyle Shanahan's system, that's a problem. Like every traded for
he got traded for because of his backup work in
Shanahan's system. I mean, dude's career in Kyle Shanahan's system.
Any quarterback is playing, it will tell you that system
you ball like, it's just is so quarterback friendly. And

(34:20):
so I think it's it's more of a thought of like,
all right, like go get him. But if he can't
excel in that system, that's a problem. If any here,
here's a question, if any quarterback can excel in that system,
why did they get so aggressive in moving up in
the draft to get trade Lance like, why was that?
The was was that? Because the more the longer this

(34:41):
goes on, aren't you getting the feeling that that was
more of a John Lynch call and not a Kyle
Shanahan Yeah, or someone within the front office, Because I
mean again, and you look at brock Ferdy, who's coming
and done grade and somewhere down the line that's like
Cash Shanahan's just smirking, smiling and be like told you
And they've taken him, right, and they've taken somebody who's
part of that group that made that decision to bring

(35:01):
in Trey Lance. So if if you're rewarding him by
saying the job that he's done has led to you
being named the GM of the Tennessee Titans, then if
if he if Trey Lance is looking at it like
that's my guy, and that's why I'm going to post
this cryptic message on social media, then who's to say
that you know they're looking at it like, oh, well,

(35:24):
that's there's an opportunity to get Trey Lance. If we
get this guy, and we could get our quarterback for
the future. I'm just saying, I mean, I know it
might sound outrageous, but I mean that you're not gonna
if Trey Lance was such a bad pick, then why
are you bringing in a guy from the front office
that I mean, we do, we do place an amount

(35:46):
of importance on on the quarterback. So I mean, and
I don't know that he necessarily made the tray Lance pick.
John Lynch is the name, sure, I mean, that's fair.
So he's gonna get the folder credit for. I mean
the reason why to make you can you can build
a strong roster like they have with the acquisitions of

(36:07):
veterans and the way you've gone about other draft picks
and still get a lot of credit for Look at
Joe Douglas with the New York Jets. I mean, you
can make the same argument of Zack Wilson. How that's looked. Yeah,
he still gets credit for sascar nerd here, Wilson, Quinnin Williams,
like all these pieces he's brought there. So I just
think the connection, the reason why I'm making the connection
is because of the cryptic the cryptic message, Like if

(36:30):
you're putting that up there, that means that you've most
likely had to or had conversations or you have a
relationship with this guy for you to even do that
in the first place, Like, I'm hoping that the conversations
that we had kind of makes sense, or we have
a relationship or some type of connection there for him
to do that. Why was Brock Purty and Jimmy Garoppolo,

(36:51):
Why were they able to step in almost immediately because
the game that Trey Lance went out, Garoppolo I think,
threw a touchdown on his first drive, and you could
argue Garoppolo was having the best season of his career
this year before the injury. Why were they able to
pick it up so fast, but Trey Lance struggled? I
don't know. I mean that that's something for someone else

(37:12):
who's an evaluator, who knows him and talks to him
and is in the meeting rooms and understand how he learns,
how he cognitively sees the field. The thing about Trey Lance,
and for people who don't remember this, he only played
one year of college football North Dakota State uh and
FCS level school because his final year there got stolen

(37:33):
due to COVID. He played one exhibition game, didn't look
good necessarily, and that's pretty much been it until he's
gotten into the NFL. And so there was a lot
of growth and development and a lack of experience and
reps that he was able to take throughout even I
think in his high school to a college and then
college to the NFL, and and you're also talking about

(37:54):
a program that's a national is a powerhouse at the
FCS level. So it's not like they weren't successful before
or Trey Lance are successful after. So you know, I
think so many times people get intrigued by the upside ability.
He's got a strong arm, he is a good athlete.
There's all those things, and they think, oh, what good
I can make him or mold him into The question

(38:16):
becomes like, do you have time to develop him? Are
you gonna be able to actually do that? The NFL
is no longer developmental league. It's a league of what
have you done for me lately? And that's why guys
like Malik Willis or Trey Lance who we've been talking about,
or any other quarterback that you would throw into the
conversation needing development. Josh Allen, for example, he needed development.

(38:39):
The Bills gave him three years, they got him Stefon Diggs,
they gave him all the stability around him. You don't
see organizations do that. I mean, heck, we're talking about
right now, what is it. You're he's been in their
league two years now, so would be a year three
to be moving on to a second team. That that
that's a tough deal for Trey Lance to deal with.
Even if the guy brings him in, You're still looking

(39:00):
at a new system, a new offense, you know, a
different sense of rhythm and chemistry with those guys. So
it's hard for that if it's hard for a guy
who needs more reps, more experience to be able to
focus on, you know, developing as a quarterback when he's
got all these other things that are changing around him.
And a Desmond Ritter as well too, Like the Atlanta
is already having the conversations, you know, looking at going

(39:21):
into different direction. Yet it's he was a rookie. I mean,
you kind of knew that was he was gonna be
up against it. But Arthur Smith is still there, so
at least they got the same system. By the way,
I can't believe Atlanta was only a game back of
Tampa Bay in that division. Like I like that. That
just still blows my mind that the Buccaneers the thought
was they were going to beat the Cowboys when they

(39:43):
only finished a game up on everybody else in That
awful to me, But that's because they gave up on
that final game of the season though they really would
have been too and they kept the starters and they
were winning that game. Then they gave it up to it.
Why do you get to focus on the details so much?
All right? Can't we just go with the flowing out
something that's a bit of a misnomer does need to
be appointed. I'm just trying to trend, and that's how

(40:03):
this works. They were not a good team this year
one and won their division. Yeah, Tampa, By the way,
I stop trying to win the m v P. Okay,
sorry about that some of us who are Yeah, I'm
sorry about that. Damn iyahuasca. Every every time I licked
that toad, I come in wanting to get viral, all right.

(40:24):
Keeps saying it's from a toad. Is that even true?
It just sounds better. I don't know, Like, isn't that
like that's like I think Mike Tyson talked about licking
a toad up. You're a local drug expert to do
Come on, Lee chopo, No, it's a plant based I
They're like, no, no, no toads involved. But wait, that

(40:45):
meant nothing other than the fact that Lee has in
depth knowledge on these things. I don't know how or why,
but all right, so Lee look this up because I'm
almost positive Mike Tyson licked a toad and admitted to
licking a toad. He doesn't. He admits to doing it regularly. Yeah,
you look at to get high. Yes, yes, yeah, well
he doesn't lick it. I don't know if he licks
the toad or he just uses the toad venom. Um.

(41:08):
I'll research this. Yeah, so again, we're gonna look into
that because we want to make sure we have everything
covered here. That's yeah. I want people to know that
we're we're professional. That's good. Berno is it? I'm not
sure he does the venom from the Sonora desert toad.
So he doesn't like he does the venom? What does

(41:30):
that mean? Does sometimes you sometimes you think you mostly
smoke the venom, You dry it out and then you
smoke it. I mean, he does have a weed farm.
Can't you just do the easy thing and stip a highlighter?
I got what we're doing, Like, you gotta go dig
a toad up? And then like truffles are from the

(41:51):
wow too. You know, by the way, if you eat
the delicacy, isn't it Mushrooms are the most disgusting food
on the planet. Joy, I enjoy room stuffed mushrooms. Stuff.
Bring some heat too, you bring mushrooms? Twetta a twetta

(42:11):
fluida s mushrooms and a steak or some some blue cheese.
What kind of mushrooms? Some alahuasca, some osaka alaska? Um?
So it is that is um? You know, you come

(42:33):
here for the sports, you stick around for the toad
venom talk. That's how we do this on this show.
Toad venom. I didn't even know toads hat venom. Yeah,
poisonous toads. I know that toads can give you like
warts and stuff, but that's venom that does that. I
think that's like an old wives tail, is it. I
don't know if they get you warts. Oh yeah, you
can definitely get words from toads. Oh yeah, yeah, that's
