tire buying should be. So uh, Trent Williams just decided
he had enough yesterday and just gonna go ahead and
toss a grown man around. And then was it a
toss or was it a spiked him? I mean he
did spiking. I mean that that was one of the
most grown man is discarding, like like you slam something
(01:52):
into the trash like that. I mean, that's one of
the most valid grab ups and put downs that I've
ever seen by a guy on a football field. Yeah,
come on, and Wallace the Philadelphia Eagles got spiked and
then he also got a jack. They had to console
him after that, like do you want to have to
live with that for the rest of your life? They
(02:13):
was they was rubbing his back when they was walking
him to the to the to the locker room, like
it's okay. You got ejected for getting the hell slammed
out of you, Like man, like it's okay, Like when
are they patting that's a grown ass man? What are
they patting his back for like the dude was rubbing
his back when they was walking in Like, Yeah, I mean,
(02:36):
I go live. I probably would have a tear or
two in my eyes that I would have to fight
from coming out because I know that that maybe my
lasting memory and legacy of my NFL career. I'm the
guy that got to like, who was that dude that
you remember that one playoff game Trent Williams. They was
losing the Philly and and Trent william grabbed that dude
(02:56):
and slammed him down like a ragnall. I think EDNI
play like that. I mean, I hate to bring this up,
but Josh Norman had a hell of a career, but
you always remember that stiff arm. Yeah, the most ignorant
of he had a hell of a career. Ignorant. That
was an ignorant, not ignorant. It was ignorant, ignorant, the
(03:20):
most ignorant stiff farm in the history of ignorant stiff farm.
Thomas Earl Thomas got spun like a top two Yeah
by Derrick Henry that one. I'm saying, you played eleven years,
You're an All Pro one of those years pro bowler,
like it was a very good cornerback. And that's what
that's the one they're gonna remember you for. Yeah, that's
(03:40):
for certain. Like, man, you remember remember when King Henry
took his arm and picked a man up and threw
him out of bounce. Do you remember that one? Yeah?
That was there was that and that was Josh Norman Rogue.
You guys surprised that Philly is a two point favorite
(04:04):
early on in the Super Bowl. I'm not. I'm not
surprised at all. In fact, I think they're gonna win
the Super Bowl. I do believe they're gonna win the
Super Bowl. I just think that there there's two things
that they're doing that to me, you'll always see present
with a Super Bowl team. For the most part. They
(04:26):
can run the ball and they can get after the
quarterback with their defensive front. Yeah, that's those are the two.
Like if you asked me, what are two things that
you would want to have, I want to have the
ability to be able to run the ball and to
be able to get after the quarterback. Now granted they
got they got a lot of talent on the outside.
We saw that on display. But you can slow down
(04:47):
their their offense. They you know, San Frand did an
excellent job of containing Jalen Hurts. A lot of the
success that they have is based upon Jalen's Hurts, his escapability.
He was not able to escape. He he did not
have a lot of time in this game. And and
for what it's worth, I mean, I thought it was
an excellent game plan in terms of what they wanted
(05:10):
to do up front against Philadelphia. But the problem was
is that they weren't able to stop to run against Philly,
and they weren't able to obviously keep people off of
keep their defense off of their quarterbacks. And that that
I mean to me, that was the difference. Yeah, I
mean San franciscoly one sack. I mean they really they
(05:31):
flushed them out. They had a good game plan in
that regard trying to cut the field in half, but
you know, ultimately they weren't getting him down. But I'm
with you as far as I mean up front, man,
come on that front. The way they're playing, they are
as dominant as it comes, right, four guys of double
digit sacks. They had one over seventy and the regular
season led the league by far. Um. I just I
(05:52):
look at it and go, I don't know, how you
couldn't look out dominant the offensive line is too, Like
when they want to run the football, they in the football.
I mean Jordan Malotta was running over dudes one even close. Um.
You know what this matchup feels like a little bit
is if you go back to that the Tampa Bay
Bucks Super Bowl were they want in Tampa. That defense
(06:16):
was pretty good that year too. I mean not the
extent of Philly, but they had like fifty sacks that
year or something like that going in the postseason. Maybe
not statistically, but in terms of players they were good. Yeah,
that's great, great defense. Um. And and and then you
we had playoff Lenny Remember he kind of like all
of a sudden became a thing down the stretch there.
(06:37):
So I just I kind of looked at it and
think it kind of has that matchup. You got Mahomes
dealing with a bum ankle. Uh, it's it's two weeks
to prepare for Andy Reid, which he's always you know, dangerous,
and Mahomes is so talented and Kelsey is tough to stop.
But if this game is ultimately one in the trenches,
Philly to me has a huge advantage. Right now if
(06:58):
you go back to that Tampa team as well. You
got three backs that are are out there assassinating people
for Philadelphia. Think about that Tampa team they had. They
had Stecker, they had Pittman, and they had the horse. Right, Oh,
you're going back to come on oh oh oh yeah
(07:18):
about say no, I'm going back to the first one.
Like I'm talking with Tampa beat Kansas City. Yeah they
had a good Okay, then that makes more sense to
me now. I was like, man, why are you playing
why they had a great defense? Okay, I see what
you're saying there. Yeah, and you're right, you're right. I
definitely they definitely got after it. Remember they had tracked
like how much he ran around and that was that
(07:39):
was j p p and who was on Barrett on
the other linebackers and Dominican. So how about the Dominican suit.
Not not to be jumping all around, but it's just
interesting when you see big billy goat on big billy goat. Right,
It's one thing when you slammed the little billy goat
like Patrol jumped out there, he threw the the little
(07:59):
billy I'm talking about the billy goat. McCalls, Like I
was just telling this story the other day. A lot
of people don't know the Billy Goaton story. Three Billy Goes. Anyway,
it was interesting how how Trent slammed the little dude down.
But you saw who came over and grabbed his ass up.
A Dominican came through that bad boy like well, I
won't say be cause you know, Tony Romo made it
(08:19):
hard for me to use any type of illustrations of
what took place. But let's just say one grown ass
man came roaring through that bad tearing that bad boy
up and grabbed the other one that was up in there,
slamming things around. I want to see you do it
to a Dominican. All you just slammed? What what Rockies saying?
(08:39):
All Right, you wanta punch hill h You wanna punch Mickey?
Or you want Polly? You want punch Polly. Let's see
you punch me. Let's see how you do. Let's let's
see you punch me. You know what I mean, Like
I wanted to see Trent slam a Dominican. Trent calmed
down real quick, by the way, and Dominan Seos had
a hell of a career. Man. He might be older
(09:02):
but he is still an enforcer. He grabbed up Trent
and Trent calm right on down. Trip was like, yeah,
you're right, I'm sorry. But we go back to that though,
Like go back to that year. Look at Tampa, look
at even Leonard Fournette, how they ran the football through
the player. That wasn't necessarily what they were doing. You
remember he apked about five yards of carry if he
(09:23):
had touchdowns in the playoff, like it was. I just
I feel like it has that feeling to it. And
even though you know Philly is not hosting it, right
That was one of the differences too, is you had
Tampa literally hosting and winning a super Bowl at home stadium,
but it has that feeling of it where like you
just feel like if this is a battle the trenches
and mahomes can't move that group. For Philly, they will
(09:44):
get after you. And and I'm not sure Andy Reid
and his staff have enough screens and enough things to
to limit the impact of that. They ran out of
gas against Cincinnati. They really had to fudget to get
out of that Cincinnati game. I mean it really, if
we're call in the spade a spade, they are lucky
to have won that game. That Mahomes fumble. I felt
(10:05):
like that was like I felt like that was it,
Like it's it, this is it. They were, they were
up seven, they had the ball and it was third
quarter winding down, and once the ball came out of
his hands and mo Homes even said afterwards that was
the only time he really probably the most pain he
was in was after that play because if you watch,
he kind of tweaked his leg trying to go pick
up the ball. But it felt like that game took
(10:27):
a turn after that and Cincinnati got some momentum. And
then that was the fourth and sixth bomb. Yeah they
started and can you answer me this, why did they
stop just bombing him? Like throw up the ball that
got it every time they threw it up to Tee
Higgins And that was where Brian Cooked made that tremendous
plate tipping up And yeah, I mean that was and
(10:49):
by the way, that was something they came back to.
Right they called like a little um six pump or
in pump And when you get double coverage, which is
what they were doing, they were they were doubling and
racketing Jamaar Chase and then they were bracketing te Higgins.
Which that's the one thing I keep going back and going, Man,
if you're Burrow, you gotta find a way of taking
off using your legs because no one's no one's accountable
(11:12):
for him. And he did it a little bit, but
had he done it a little bit more, I think they,
you know, could have some bigger gains. But for people
out there who don't know, you know, usually when you
put two two guys on a receiver, the only way
you beat those two is being able to run vertical.
Because the way they're planet is there's a guy inside,
there's a guy outside, and you're gonna be able to
split them. And that's what they were doing. They're acting
(11:33):
like they're gonna run an end route. They kind of
started their feet at the top of it and then
they just go straight vertical. And so for the chase one,
he beat both them cats and then he just turned
back around. He got Brian cook Um the rookie safety,
but he came up made a nice play. Next time around,
Brian Cook was a little more ready for and then
he got his hand in on it, batting it up.
So they tried, but they had it, and look, they
(11:54):
got enough talent you know, like Hayden Hursts had a
nice completion. I want to say on that that maybe
not not the not the final drive obviously because they
had like three seconds left, but the drive before that, Yeah,
it was like a third and twelve or a t
whatever it was. He had that nice completion. I kept thinking,
that's the dude you gotta go to, Like you brought
in a former first round pick and guy who's got
(12:14):
talent like him. They kept talking about trying to get
it a Trent Irwin. I'm like, no, go find that
tight end and go go get another twenty yard chunk.
Just give yourself a shot at a field goal. But
um again, credit. I keep going back to the Chiefs
and the way they schematically moved around Chris Jones. He's
a d tackle, but they were putting him out as
an edge rusher against the dnagy And then they were
(12:34):
putting all three of their defensive lineman on the other
side of the center. And so at that point, if
you're the Bengals, you're either gonna slide that right guard
to help out your right tackle and now you've got
three one on ones with Frank Clark and Dunlap and
Carl loft this over on that side, or you gotta say,
all right, my right tackle is gonna have to actually
get paid for you know what he's doing. He's gotta
(12:55):
go one on one, and so it's just it's a
tough deal to be in when when you're the angles
and you've got three backup offensive lineman, you know, trying
to stop Chris Jones the rest of that pass rush.
So my theory on that is because like you know,
people looked at me, oh, that was by designed, I'm like, no,
it wasn't that when he first when he first did it.
It was a three level concept. So you have had
(13:17):
McKinnon in the flat, you like Kelsey running more like
a curl, and then you had a deeper corner route
or flag route running the back of the end zone.
So what you're trying to do is you're trying to
put one of those two zone defenders in a buy
and you're high lowing them and they can't be right.
You know, if you take away the flag, you take
away the flat, you throw to the Kelsey like you did.
But McKinnon was so far away that if that was
(13:38):
a designed pitch play, he would have been way closer
because that's a huge risk. And obviously that that ball
almost ended up being uh. I mean McKinnon got it,
but it almost got recovered by Sense. So I don't
think he could move very well after the catch. So
I think he was getting to his route, coming back
to the football and then at that point looking to pitch.
He did it later on in the game, and it
(14:00):
was the same thing. It was like there was an
outside route that I can't I think it was number
eighty three. I'm trying to think back in my head
who it was. But he caught it and he like
almost want to look to pitch again, and that dude
was like ten yards away. Uh. And and that we're
in the rid zone when he did Yeah, yeah, I think. Um.
And so there's no when you have a back issue
(14:23):
like that and he starts spasming up to pitch the ball. Well,
I'm just saying, is there. I don't get why they
didn't jam the hell out of his assid the line
of scrimmage. Anything you can do pregame the tour at all.
Fairy in yards received. They were putting hands on him, like,
you know, the dude's got a back issue and you're
(14:43):
not gonna try to jam him out the line of scrimmage.
I was shocked by that. I don't know. I just
think sometimes dudes are harder. It sounds good to get
your hands on him. Who are you gonna use to
do it? You're gonna put one of them nickelbacks in there.
It's like in basketball. It's like in basketball, you put
you could put anyone on on, like a center or
(15:05):
someone else. You foul the hell out of that dude.
Let him waste all his fouls, and you kind of
rough them up a little bit in his head. You're
just trying to get him off their game. That's all
you're doing. I don't care if it's a linebacker. I agree.
I agree, Jim, Jim everything. This is when Jim asked
(15:25):
Tony a question about like situation, what's gonna happen is
I don't know, Jim, what do you think that all?
I'm like, my god, dude, he really just said that.
By the way, when they're running the commercials for the Masters,
you know, Jim Nance's thing to himself, Thank Christ, just
get me to them and get me to Augusta. So
I'd have to deal with with this chaos anymore. With
Tony Romo just get give me to Augusta Na Tony
(15:47):
Romo to talk to him about, you know, the passing
a packard. You know. He was like, yeah, I was
a fan of you guys growing up. I remember watching
it and he was like, that's before your time. He
was like, yeah, but I was watching. He was like, no,
that's like really before your time, sitting there looking at
(16:07):
that Robo like like like the MR was kind of
venturing like Lebron territory like up stuff. Yeah, like really
you watched it, really really? You know what year that was?
Then he started Jim started bringing out Yeah, I remember
(16:28):
when we called the championship round that year was in
Kansas City and eighty what do you say, like eighties
something with Danny Manning. I'm sitting there, like the final four.
I'm sitting there like I was a baby. I was
young back then, like I way older than Romo. It
was I know that and something. I know. I was
(16:50):
sitting there like a boy and Tony. I don't know.
Every time he says we had the music. Every time
he says, Jim, it reminds me Apparel Letterman, HBO. Every
time they would Yeah, you know, I like I'm packing.
He's a little bit more aggressive and he's landing shots
to the body. I think he's been a little bit
more active. He can't fight the last ten seconds of
(17:11):
the round. I just bet to win the round, Jim,
and I love that this is you don't pull this
one out enough. This may be your best impression. Letterman. Yeah,
you did you watch the way Eric Arrington's going to
the body and r G three's trying to get aggressive
on his own. But he's just not doing enough. He's
not active enough. He's not thrown enough punches. He's been
(17:34):
bobbing and weave and he's trying to put on a
show on the rope, but he's not being aggressive. Term book.
And then every final ten seconds comes around you hear
the bell ring and he thinks he can get aggressive
and land some shots to the gloves and he's gonna
win the round. You can't steal around like that. I
got a thirty seven seven LaVar Arrington. He's three rounds
and none. I expect more of the same the next
three rounds. Jim. Every time he does okay, okay. Actually,
(18:02):
by the way, there was one thing that really bothered
me that Romo said though, is when there was the
confusion on the third and nine play with I think
Kansas City had the football and they were trying to
sort out the whole all right. The previous play was
an incompletion. The clock had stopped for a minute, but
when they put it back into play, both the game
(18:22):
clock and play clock started, and so the back judge
like saw it, ran in to stop the play, which again,
since nat he got to stop and but it took
another minute or so off the clock ever worked out,
but Tony at one point was like, well, yeah, I
can't hear the crowd here. With the officials, You're like, hey, Tony,
the crowds not creating noise when Kansas City is on offense,
(18:43):
so let's not blame it on that, all right, Like
that was common sense that it wasn't a crowd issue.
It was like an audio issue. But either way, I'm like,
what is happening? It's it's been a rough year for him,
man really has been. But you know it could get okay.
Can I say this without like creating too much of
a stir? And I know we're up against the prick.
(19:03):
I know. I just think when you look at how
good Greg Olson brushed it yesterday to a boy. The
way he's he's been, they've been great. When you look
at how good they are and they're right back and
back to forth, back and back and back with one another,
you gotta think that CBS is like maybe we didn't
need to pay them on them on I mean, is
(19:24):
it's that a thought Like I I kind of sit
there and think there has to be a thought to
all this. I mean, there's other guys that you could
put into the the booth that would actually give you
that type of quite very equent that you could put
in the booth that would actually give that type of
quality even more analysis. I mean, if that's what you're
looking for, you want some personality along with some some education,
(19:46):
because I just think that it's it's really based upon
personality with Romo, like if you like that quirkiness and
you know that kind of like Friends type of personality,
like he could be a he could be a cast
member on Friends and he would he would fit in perfectly.
And that's if that's the entertainment value you're looking for,
(20:08):
then that services that grew. I just think that the
football fan base is a very very educated one, like
they could be a holes at times. But one thing
I will say about football fans, NFL fans, even college
football fans, even high school football fans, they know they
know a lot about what they know and and they're
(20:30):
educated in what they're educated on. So to have somebody
who can speak to the familiarities of what the fan
is is seeking or what they're listening for, you don't
get that from Romo at all. You don't really get that.
And in fact, a normal, normal pedestrian, a normal civilian fan,
(20:52):
could actually pick apart what it is that he puts
out there as commentary and then not just being honest there.
So when you think look at what Olsen is doing.
You see certain guys that that get into booth and
they called the games like Troy is one of those guys.
It's like their knowledge of it, they break things down.
I always want to learn something right, So when they
break down what's going on with the game, it's like
(21:13):
I never even thought about it that way. And I
play the game, you know that like I want to.
I want to hear that when I'm listening to somebody
call the game. You know, got up the price on
a lot of people, got hit something right, he did,
but you want to be a market correction after there
might be by the way, honestly, like they don't you
(21:35):
don't think Fox should be like, oh, we just keep
Greg in there, keep Greg and Kevin in there. They've
gotten They've done so well that I think they're they're
making a case for saying what I mean, Look, Tom
Brady is Tom Brady, But isn't that a risk bringing
a guy that's never called a game before and expecting
to do a better job. They ought to pair Brady
up with Cronk and do something like what the man
(21:59):
agree with you? Of that some million a year? You know,
because that's the problem. You could probably sell it. Somebody
would pay it to have that dynamic idea would get
somebody pay that hanging that. Yeah, it's not as dynamic
as us, but I mean you could be dynamic. I
mean that would be nice if we got that type
(22:20):
of probers got a chance with you, you know what
I mean, Well, I do have some good news for you.
Gotta put him in position to win. Got to the question,
you're still over paying for a razor in this economy's
gross With dollar shave Club, you can get a top
shelf Shave at a regular shelf price. Dollar Shave Club
is available at a store near you in the men's
razor raile. That's it. That's the ad alright. Two Pros

Cup of Joel Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,
Jonas knocked you the here Coming up in just a
couple of moments from now, we are going to talk
about a very strange situation in the world of coaching
in the National Football League. Let's talk about Stamps dot
Com first, though, and how they've teamed up the post
office to get you huge mailing and shipping discounts up
(23:29):
to over eight percent off. It's a new year, No Brenner.
Save serious money with Stamps dot Com. Use code two
pros for a four week trial free postage and a
free scale stamp dot com code two pros. All right,
the hell's going on with Jim Harbaugh? Well done? Um
(23:50):
I love the timing of that too, because it's just
it throws Jonas off because he's all about the radio
formatics and you know he wants everything to be perfectly structured.
Nothing throws me off. That's not true. So we had yeah, yeah,
do we have a clip from earlier? I did hit
the dump button? Well, I mean, come on, extra yards,
(24:12):
the tough yards to finish on the play. Right there,
you got three, and you talked about this is the
best tackling team. They don't miss tackles. The more to
hear at the worst three what nice players. I don't
know that there was a c in there, but you
see how quickly he popped to the next word. Though
(24:34):
it was quick. It was a quick pop like like oh,
like his his his air brakes kicked in, his his
internal sensor kick kicked in one more time, one more time,
one more time. The extra yards, the tough yards to
finish on the play. Right there, you got three and
(24:54):
you talked about this the best tackling team. They don't
miss tackles. Hey, it happens, doesn't doesn't hold on. That's
the first for me, budd oh Man, Well, listen, game man.
(25:18):
The hell of the game that Tony robo man being
talked about for all the wrong reasons, talk about having
an impact on the game. Sure did? Um what? Yeah?
What do you another one? Yeah? I want to hear
one more. Let's go, let's go. You want to do
one more time? Time? Anyway? Lead to lap is the
(25:40):
one who does is getting uncomfortable. Three yards the tough
yards to finish on the play. Right there, you got
three talked about. This is the best tackling team. They
don't miss tackles. This is either case. It's either it's
either on a site with Tony Romo or laugh it off.
Like that's kind of you could either you could go
(26:01):
either way with it. You know, I'm gonna choose to
laugh it off. Some people might be on site with
Tony Romo after that, Like, is that really what he
thinks about me? Like? Is that is that what he
thinks about you? People? You know what I mean? Like smokes,
Holy smokes, I mean that's a if you're gonna slip up,
slip up on something that where you can get from
(26:23):
from under it, you know, slip slip with like an
F bomb or you said the s you know, like
like what you said Q right, like the thing that
you you know, all right, you drop on the floor
sometimes whatever anyway slip that way. But when you slipped
the way that he slipped, that's a hard slip, man,
That is a hard slip, very hard. Yeah, I mean,
(26:47):
I don't know. It'll be interesting to see how it
is kind of handled. Do do you act like it
didn't happen at all? Does he have to come out
and say something? If he does have to come out
and say something, you do know cancel culture is coming
for you know what's crazy? You know Acho was a
part of cancel culture as of lately and he's he's
African and he lives in America and he's had to
(27:09):
deal with being canceled. Right now, he's dealing with Nigerian
apparently started that whole thing. Yeah, he doesn't have the trauma.
You know what's crazy is that? How catch you straight here?
He got hit? Oh what van h lath Lathan? What
happened with him? Well, he just kind of he he
(27:33):
just kind of um well pointed out the obvious about Acho. Well,
I mean, maybe you shouldn't be, you know, in the
position that you're said some of the things that you're said,
like for some for some strange reason, he's become the
(27:54):
de facto voice of of UH, what what black people represent?
You know? And that's why, thus you have conversations uncomfortable
conversations with UH with a black man. Yeah? Yeah, I mean,
I mean, I guess I'll say this though, I mean,
for what it's worth, um, I mean, Lathan, I think
(28:16):
kind of made it a point where you now have
maybe made sense of it. Maybe it should be uncomfortable
conversations with a Nigerian black man, and that would have
made it simpler for the conversation that ensue with Acho
and Lathan. Yeah, I mean, am I off on not Q?
(28:37):
Is that safe? Is that is that fair? I mean,
I don't think anyone cares what I have to say
about this, but why not? Come on? I care? Because
I mean I just said they don't care. He basically
said that he can have conversations from a different lens
(28:59):
and from a different ope and in a productive manner
because he's not as upset with white folks as as
black people are in America. If this is any indication
by the way of how the Jim Harbaugh whether or
not he's going to take a head coach jump in
the NFL, SOAKA is getting traction, here's your indication of it.
(29:19):
We mentioned it and segued immediately to another topic. I
didn't want to segue. I didn't even know where we
were going with hard Well. It's it's like, didn't he
say he's working stuff out with Michigan and he's he's
going to be there, that's what we heard. Yeah, and
then yeah, and so he still talked to the NFL teams.
I don't really get it. And then then Denver's owner
shows up in nan Arbor and they have a sit
(29:39):
down last week. You know, that's interesting, though, den We're
still looking for coach Sean Payton. Stuff's weird. You know,
that's kind of that's interesting. I mean, that is an
interesting topic. I just thought it wasn't more interesting than
well now then or Romo. We got plenty of time
to get into that one because that, you know, Denver
(30:01):
doesn't seem like we're gonna hire a coach anytime in
the next two years. That's kind of funny. So yeah,
we got we got plenty of time to get into
that stuff. But yeah, I had no idea I was
getting heat. Yeah, they came for him. They came for
him in a major way. I got. I got the
text message. I can recall where I was at and
(30:22):
what I was doing when I got the notification that
this is what was going on. I was totally oblivious
to it until somebody peep my attention, drew my attention
to it, and then once I looked at it is
literally like twenties some thousand comments about just like how
crazy it is that he's actually said what he said,
and I didn't expect what what came after this. You
(30:45):
got to just do what Brady does, create a bunch
of fake accounts that tweet you and harrass you while
you're doing other shows, and then retweet them like that's
that's the move. You just gotta do what Brady does.
It's a safer place that way. Why why are you
involving me? There's another personality who literally takes our takes
(31:07):
and does a reactionary pot That's not That's not what
I was, That's what I'm aware of. That's not what
I was doing. I am aware of that. I don't
have a problem with it, but Jonas has to bring
it up, and you know it. Where's the Joey Bosa?
I got the cats, all the sacks I gave you
(31:32):
on Sundays. You're wrong, You're wrong, You're roll man, oh Man,

I know Bengals fans are been out of shape because
they feel like the officiating went completely one sided in
that game. It's hard for me to feel bad for them,
(34:33):
because damn, they were shooting their mouths off a lot
this week, Like you had the mayor of Cincinnati shooting
his mouth off. You had a lot of fans who
were really confident about the Bengals, and then it came
out and they had an opportunity to win that game.
And it didn't play out that way. But it's hard
for me to feel bad for the Cincinnati Bengals. I'm sorry,
And it could be worse. You could not have Joe
Burrow and have a franchise quarterback for the next ten years.
(34:54):
Plus Everything's gonna be alright, Cincinnati. Yeah, they got some
things to take care of them. I mean, you're almost
your entire secondary is our unrestricted free agents. You know,
Hayden Hurst is understricted free agent and Higgins is going
into his last year. You gotta start thinking about both
Burrow and Chase. How you're gonna plan for those two
monster deals. It's it's not you know, it's not that easy.
(35:17):
I mean, Joe Burrow has showcased flash and the ability
to be able to, you know, make it to a
Super Bowl, I think, win one. But you do have
to call into question. You know, we saw that, we
thought that early on with Dan Morito's career, and he
never made it back after you know, being there early
on and no one doubts the talent. So I think
sometimes you concern yourself about that franchise and the ability
(35:40):
for that franchise to do what's necessary to build out
around the quarterback position and the Bengals family. Since its
family owned, they don't have as deep a pockets to
pay out as much cash as necessary in order to
spread out a lot of the um, you know, the
the talent and surround Burrow of the talent necessary order
(36:00):
to make it work. So it's gonna be interesting to
see how how they handle the roster construction as Burrow
ends up being not on his rookie deal. Because if
I'm the Bengals, I try to agree to that like yesterday,
you know, you're you're in. You're after year three like
you can. You can go sign them to that extension.
And I know it's a present that not many teams
want to want to set. Usually they pick up the
(36:21):
fifth year option and then they go about working after
year four. But I would not want to wait around
any longer. I would sit there and say, let's let's
let's sign him up to a deal. Now we know
how good he is, and let's start working around that.
You know, how we can make that work with him
in the future. I wonder what that contract is gonna
look like. Monster. There was I saw somebody throughout a
number on Herbert and Burrow fifty something million a year.
(36:46):
I mean that's not including the obviously the guarantees and
all that. But damn man. Yeah, I mean, look, usually
these deals, right with the exception of Watson, since it's
it's such an outlier, usually they're gonna be cooked in
with at least the first three years of that deal
gear guaranteed. Now, I don't know how the Bengal is
gonna structure this. I would imagine it's gonna be a long,
long extension because any signing bonus they signed them to, right,
(37:09):
you can spread it out through that number of years
and that should lessen the cap hit. But they're they're
not the type of you know, franchise that's gonna be
able to pay a ton of cash. And so that's
where this gets interesting. That's why you know, the naming
rights of the stadium and all these other things they're
trying to do. As far as the business around, the
Bengals are basically going directly in Joe Burrow's pockets. I
(37:32):
think that for one, you have to but for two,
at some point here in their future, uh, Deshaun Watson's
contract will become obsolutely as well. I mean, it's gonna
get swallowed up I don't know how long, how many years,
but it's gonna get swallowed up. Fully guaranteed though, it's
gonna get swallowed up. Bro. That's just how that's the
economics of the game. Well, the hard thing of the
(37:54):
economics for that is, you have to have that money
in escrow, so you have to be able to whatever
is fully guaranteed. You have to have that money set
aside in escrow for that player. That's what it states.
I don't know too many guys that have two and
thirty million in cash sitting around to put an escrow
does no game? Man? No? Maybe one day though soon yeah,
well right now to day, Hey, that would be what
