the unsolved mysteries. Do we get it though? For a
conspiracy theory with another a f C West team right there,
Robert Stack through the fog on, so does Burt Reynolds.
But it's not anything just cowboy hat. So we heard

Sean Payton right out the gate set the tone and
talk about how there's not gonna be people who are
outside the organization coming in as far as Russell Wilson's team,
there's not gonna be in office and all that stuff.
Out the gate, he's saying that, making a statement to
the public. Putting out there. We then hear Terry Bradshaw

say this now, I'll remind you guys too, Like those
guys were all close. They worked together for this past year,
this past season, and one of the things that I
think I took away from all of this is Sean
Payton was even kind of leaving you some some bread crumbs,
like like two weeks Befrior, he was wearing an orange

tie and someone had asked him, Hey, was that maybe
prophetic of what was gonna happen. He's like, yeah, it was.
There was an intent behind that. He's a very calculated guy.
How do you kind of put it out there that
maybe you know you're taking this job, but you're not
all about the guy who's currently there. You let other
people do it for you. Uh, that is I'm just saying,

like what he's savvy enough to be able to say.
And and by the way, we all know Terry, Terry's
he's a right, he's awesome, one of the best in television.
We all know people. If Terry had said it two
people would be like, well, it's Terry, come on, it's
Terry Bratch Like he says this crazy stuff all the time,
but maybe this time, like there's a little bit of hey, Terry,
Wayne help me out with somebody he knew like that.

That was a direct conversation that they had had, and
they sounded like they had it a couple of different man.
He established the fact that he drinks his whiskey. And
when you're drinking whiskey, somebody's whiskey that made it. And
there there in your colleagues, you're going to talk like
he put that light like basically, if you deciphered and

read between the lines, he said, Russ stinks, you stink,
like think about it, like, but he's got no choice,
like and and and the biggest indictment of the whole
thing what Skyler Murray like, Hey, I won't work with him.

So so Russ Russ is considerably the least of the
evils of the ones you don't want to work with,
which is great. That's how Terry Pratt so I put it.
It was weird how Terry kind of was like, oh,
you know, you go in the NFC South, you wanna
go to Carolina? Like I was like, why doesn't that
division seem right for the taking off Tom Brady's retired,
you have to worry about Tampa. Maybe he was looking

at maybe it wasn't an option because maybe do a
deal with an NFC out team, But it does. This
is what I wonder. I wonder Sean Payton part of
what the reason why he finally accepted the job and
took the gig. Is he needed an understanding from new ownership,
who could get rid of us, who didn't give Russ

this contract? Hey, I need to know if this is
a bag of crap in year one, that that we
can wash our hands and washing. I believe I said
that before. I believe I said, Sean, Sean Payton coming
into Denver, you can't you can't be married to the
situation of I have to make it work with Russell Wilson.

You can't be married to that. This is this is
a golden opportunity for for Sean Payton because it's not
a bad team. They just weren't cohesive. It was a
very they went in the opposite direction of being a
cohesive team. Their defense was holding up for him all
year long, and their offense terribly underperformed. So if you're

looking at it for a very critical perspective, what is
the one element and the one factor that I kept
coming up and was kept and continued to be the
main focal point of why this team performed so poorly
is your quarterback? Is your quarterback? And the way the
games were managed and and I fell on the head
coach as well. So those one one of those elements

is still there. And I'm totally with you on that,
like why not put it out there, like, hey, listen there,
there will be no office there, your your your quarterback
coach will not be in here, your staff will not
be in here. And I needed to know before I'm
coming that if this doesn't go right, you're not basing

my job security off of the success or failures of
one Russell Wilson. To further your point on at least,
I think the league perception of what the issue was
there in Denver. Does Nathaniel Hackett get an O C
job right away for a team that needs not only
needed someone to come in, but need someone to come
in fix Zach Wilson, you know, be able to help

them offensively, because that's the one thing they need there
in New York. It's not their defense, it was their
offensive issues. And I think if there was a perception
that Nathaniel Hackett was that bad as an offensive coordinator,
he's not going to come up that's a great point.
But he gets picked up like great point, So it's
got to be us. I think that's has got to

be right. And and I know some people who know
Nathaniel Hackett, and there was kind of that conversation of
when we get time, we'll talk about all the stuff
that went on. And so clearly there's more to the
story there. And I've heard some different things too, you know,
from Denver. But I just think Sean Payton is as
calculated and as savvy as they come. And I think,

you know, he's already using the media as a tool
to top his head off, well off with his head,
but but to make a statement and to kind of
make sure that everyone in Denver knows who's the head coach,
who's running that building, and and where the players reside,
and and that no one's gonna be viewed. We talked

about this one yesterday, like you're not gonna view you know,
Russell different from anyone else in this roster. That's it.

back to Sean payton Um when Terry Bradshaw says, When
Terry Bradshaw says, those were the only options for him,
Like he couldn't have just waited another year, Like the

fall short this year, that's gonna open up. Same with
the charges. So why was there the rush to want
to take one of these jobs if these weren't ideal situations? See,
I think Dallas is set up for dan Quinn to
take over, and with especially with them elevating because Brian
Schottenheimer was already there as an analyst, them elevating him. No, See,
even though we know McCarthy is calling the plays. I

think it sets up perfectly now for who's the scapegoat.
They still really can't move on from Dak so it's
gonna be McCarthy. And then you've got an experienced head
coach who comes in and dan Quinn. They love him,
the defense has been great. He gives them a shot
to see what he's able to do in that role.

know there's Dallas Cowboys fans who you know make question
whether or not he'll be a good play caller. Um,

available next year is not going to be as attractive
as Denver if you really think about it, Because if
you're able, if indeed what we spoke about is true,
where he has the autonomy to be able to handle
the quarterback position away that he wants to, it's a

landing spot. Yeah. Well in the ownership group too, right,
I mean you've got you've got resources, and it's a
great that's a great network play right beyond football. That's
a hell of a network play if you have success,
and what teams you say on the hot seats starting
the next season. Obviously, I think Dallas always gonna be dialing.
I mean Tampa Bay you could probably say with top
bowls if they don't do well, Tampa Bay, I think

you sell in the Saints, you can say the Saints. Um,
maybe you look at Atlantic to is one's in Atlanta,
the Jets. That's a good one. Although that that feels
like it would be Salah and Joe Douglas would be out.
How many how many Chargers? The Chargers are going to
be one? I mean the Texans just because it's another year,

you know, I wouldn't say the Texas to Cleveland. Yeah, Cleveland, definitely.
He's on his last leg and they can't move on
from lots of it's too much guaranteed tied up into him.
So he's on his That's an interest. That's a curious
one because who would want that? Who would want that job?

What are we doing this? Well, that's why I'm confused.
I haven't. I mean, obviously the Cardinals have been a

little bit more transparent with theirs. Right, they have Kafka right,
my those for the Giants, lou Anda Rumo d C
for the Cincinnati Bengals, and then Brian Flores, who was
a defensive system with the Steelers who's now opted to
instead take the Viking Shop, which I did hear a
little behind the scenes about that decision. So apparently the

Arizona floors was third, and the powers that be that
helped negotiate those sorts of things. I thought there, that's
kind of the running on the wall. If you're bringing
guys back for a second round of interviews, your first
guy you bring in is most likely the guy you

sitting there waiting and have them pick another guy before
you get a chance to go back in. And so
their thought was strike by the iron is hot, and
go take a good DC job, fence coordinator job in
Minnesota to get back into that spot, which I do
think they I mean, like any improvements better the foot
there with this fashion, the vikings are awful. So you
even if you're in the you know, bottom half of
the league, your sixteen seventeen the league, that's a dramatic improvement.

So it looks good, Go get a head coaching job
the following year. And so now you got the Cardinals
basically looking between Calf and Louie and Rumo and who's
Indianapolis looking at at I mean it serious, seriously, like
we haven't heard much of anything, and just it feels
like it's gonna be Jeff Saturday. It's just they're they're
waiting at this point to make that announcement of that
decision day is not ours. Gotta be specific, you know,

I t I teach this to my young bucks that
that are making making their way head way and and
playing sports and stuff like that while you're in college
or when you get to the pros, when somebody gives
you descriptive um responses to something about you or something
about a situation, it's generally the opposite. And you know

you meet a girl and you're trying to talk to
that girl and she's talking to you, and you give

be the conversation of race relations as it applies to hiring,
how the process of hiring takes place, how there's loopholes
to it, and how it's not done fairly, because that
has not been a narrative that has played out as
of late, like that was a big time Initially, it

met the Rooney rule because they did interview Raheem Morris
from my understanding, and they've Shane Stikeens. Another guy, Brian

to a really good spot on the floor where I'm

a lot of people wanted me to go to the

but my favorite was a seniorship play as well, and uh,
I was able to get it and the narrative it
touched nothing but the bottom of the net. That was

the record, he's got at least two of the foeheads.
If there's one time you could flex like that. Signature

and the Pelicans beat the Hawks one sixteen to one
oh seven College basketball four games, and they all featured

knocked off tenth rank Marquette eight seven seventy two, Kansas
State rank twelve, beat number seventeen, TCU eight two to

think when you look at the next generation, the one

right now, you're always going to be a year behind
him because you have to be a one and done
for the most part, or go to some of the
Professional Sports League. So that can't have good without the bad.
Brady was bad this week. You know what's bad Kentucky
men's basketball. Yeah, they got blown out last night against Arkansas.

It's not looking good for their chances of making the tournament.

I mean for one of the most storied basketball programs.
John Calipari has recruited, well, he's gotten guys to the league,

found my way onto a Kentucky men's basketball group text

a lifetime contract, but he's too arrogant to step down

he does have a lifetime contract. Like there's nothing Kentucky
can do about it. It would take John Calipari leaving
for another opportunity or hoping that next year's class, which
is like his best recruiting class ever, can come save
the day. But I think the counterpoint to that is,
wouldn't you think if this is the direction the program
is going, you'd want to bring in someone else to

take advantage of that new class. What's the Calipari comping football?
Like who's who's a coach? Who's got one? But you go,
you should have to buy out like ninety million, Like
there's literally not a comp to this as far but
as far as success rate, got all that talent, all
that potential, he's got one national title, to show that. Yeah,

maybe not even less. I mean boors Ron wasn't there
long enough. I mean yeah, but he wasn't there long enough.
Does have one though, doesn't one, But I don't know
if he was there that long. Trying from Joe Paterno, Yeah,
paternal has got what too too too, though he was there.

But yeah, it just think about it. If if you
had two, maybe three, it might be three, it might
be too. But he he had an undefeated in ninety
and they didn't get it because they gave it to
Nebraska and then after that I mean four or after

that year. But but I would I wouldn't put him
in that category because he he did win a couple
and on top of that, like I think Calipari and
Kentucky was at the top of men's basketball. They made
the one and done a thing. And then as people
kind of came and infiltrated that, then it became more
about Okay, wants a deed that's got knocked off. Sorry,

but you know now that's become a little more spread
out as far as the talent. But even more so,
people have adapted adjustice and they have He hasn't been
able to develop the guys to get him to win
another ask you this, do you think some way somehow
because I was just in Lexington not too long ago

conspiracy theory with another a f C West team right there,

But it's not anything just cowboy hat. So we heard

Sean Payton right out the gate set the tone and
talk about how there's not gonna be people who are
outside the organization coming in as far as Russell Wilson's team,
there's not gonna be in office and all that stuff.
Out the gate, he's saying that, making a statement to
the public. Putting out there. We then hear Terry Bradshaw

say this now, I'll remind you guys too, Like those
guys were all close. They worked together for this past year,
this past season, and one of the things that I
think I took away from all of this is Sean
Payton was even kind of leaving you some some bread crumbs,
like like two weeks Befrior, he was wearing an orange

tie and someone had asked him, Hey, was that maybe
prophetic of what was gonna happen. He's like, yeah, it was.
There was an intent behind that. He's a very calculated guy.
How do you kind of put it out there that
maybe you know you're taking this job, but you're not
all about the guy who's currently there. You let other
people do it for you. Uh, that is I'm just saying,

like what he's savvy enough to be able to say.
And and by the way, we all know Terry, Terry's
he's a right, he's awesome, one of the best in television.
We all know people. If Terry had said it two
people would be like, well, it's Terry, come on, it's
Terry Bratch Like he says this crazy stuff all the time,
but maybe this time, like there's a little bit of hey, Terry,
Wayne help me out with somebody he knew like that.

That was a direct conversation that they had had, and
they sounded like they had it a couple of different man.
He established the fact that he drinks his whiskey. And
when you're drinking whiskey, somebody's whiskey that made it. And
there there in your colleagues, you're going to talk like
he put that light like basically, if you deciphered and

read between the lines, he said, Russ stinks, you stink,
like think about it, like, but he's got no choice,
like and and and the biggest indictment of the whole
thing what Skyler Murray like, Hey, I won't work with him.

So so Russ Russ is considerably the least of the
evils of the ones you don't want to work with,
which is great. That's how Terry Pratt so I put it.
It was weird how Terry kind of was like, oh,
you know, you go in the NFC South, you wanna
go to Carolina? Like I was like, why doesn't that
division seem right for the taking off Tom Brady's retired,
you have to worry about Tampa. Maybe he was looking

at maybe it wasn't an option because maybe do a
deal with an NFC out team, But it does. This
is what I wonder. I wonder Sean Payton part of
what the reason why he finally accepted the job and
took the gig. Is he needed an understanding from new ownership,
who could get rid of us, who didn't give Russ

this contract? Hey, I need to know if this is
a bag of crap in year one, that that we
can wash our hands and washing. I believe I said
that before. I believe I said, Sean, Sean Payton coming
into Denver, you can't you can't be married to the
situation of I have to make it work with Russell Wilson.

You can't be married to that. This is this is
a golden opportunity for for Sean Payton because it's not
a bad team. They just weren't cohesive. It was a
very they went in the opposite direction of being a
cohesive team. Their defense was holding up for him all
year long, and their offense terribly underperformed. So if you're

looking at it for a very critical perspective, what is
the one element and the one factor that I kept
coming up and was kept and continued to be the
main focal point of why this team performed so poorly
is your quarterback? Is your quarterback? And the way the
games were managed and and I fell on the head
coach as well. So those one one of those elements

is still there. And I'm totally with you on that,
like why not put it out there, like, hey, listen there,
there will be no office there, your your your quarterback
coach will not be in here, your staff will not
be in here. And I needed to know before I'm
coming that if this doesn't go right, you're not basing
(08:42):
my job security off of the success or failures of
one Russell Wilson. To further your point on at least,
I think the league perception of what the issue was
there in Denver. Does Nathaniel Hackett get an O C
job right away for a team that needs not only
needed someone to come in, but need someone to come
in fix Zach Wilson, you know, be able to help
(09:04):
them offensively, because that's the one thing they need there
in New York. It's not their defense, it was their
offensive issues. And I think if there was a perception
that Nathaniel Hackett was that bad as an offensive coordinator,
he's not going to come up that's a great point.
But he gets picked up like great point, So it's
got to be us. I think that's has got to

be right. And and I know some people who know
Nathaniel Hackett, and there was kind of that conversation of
when we get time, we'll talk about all the stuff
that went on. And so clearly there's more to the
story there. And I've heard some different things too, you know,
from Denver. But I just think Sean Payton is as
calculated and as savvy as they come. And I think,

you know, he's already using the media as a tool
to top his head off, well off with his head,
but but to make a statement and to kind of
make sure that everyone in Denver knows who's the head coach,
who's running that building, and and where the players reside,
and and that no one's gonna be viewed. We talked

about this one yesterday, like you're not gonna view you know,
Russell different from anyone else in this roster. That's it.

back to Sean payton Um when Terry Bradshaw says, When
Terry Bradshaw says, those were the only options for him,
Like he couldn't have just waited another year, Like the
Cowboy Shop will but up if they're not. If they

fall short this year, that's gonna open up. Same with
the charges. So why was there the rush to want
to take one of these jobs if these weren't ideal situations? See,
I think Dallas is set up for dan Quinn to
take over, and with especially with them elevating because Brian
Schottenheimer was already there as an analyst, them elevating him. No, See,
even though we know McCarthy is calling the plays. I

think it sets up perfectly now for who's the scapegoat.
They still really can't move on from Dak so it's
gonna be McCarthy. And then you've got an experienced head
coach who comes in and dan Quinn. They love him,
the defense has been great. He gives them a shot
to see what he's able to do in that role.
Probably of a personality. Yeah, and you allow Brian Schottenheimer

then to call plays. He's done it forever. And I
know there's Dallas Cowboys fans who you know make question
whether or not he'll be a good play caller. Um,
that's up to their opinion, but it sets up to
be that for Dallas. I think if things don't go
well early on this season with Mike McCarthy, next seas, no,
if you really think about it, if you look at

it from a critical I any job that may come
available next year is not going to be as attractive
as Denver if you really think about it, Because if
you're able, if indeed what we spoke about is true,
where he has the autonomy to be able to handle
the quarterback position away that he wants to, it's a

landing spot. Yeah. Well in the ownership group too, right,
I mean you've got you've got resources, and it's a
great that's a great network play right beyond football. That's
a hell of a network play if you have success,
and what teams you say on the hot seats starting
the next season. Obviously, I think Dallas always gonna be dialing.
I mean Tampa Bay you could probably say with top
bowls if they don't do well, Tampa Bay, I think

you sell in the Saints, you can say the Saints. Um,
maybe you look at Atlantic to is one's in Atlanta,
the Jets. That's a good one. Although that that feels
like it would be Salah and Joe Douglas would be out.
How many how many Chargers? The Chargers are going to
be one? I mean the Texans just because it's another year,

you know, I wouldn't say the Texas to Cleveland. Yeah, Cleveland, definitely.
He's on his last leg and they can't move on
from lots of it's too much guaranteed tied up into him.
So he's on his That's an interest. That's a curious
one because who would want that? Who would want that job?

you get a chance to go back in. And so
their thought was strike by the iron is hot, and
go take a good DC job, fence coordinator job in
Minnesota to get back into that spot, which I do
think they I mean, like any improvements better the foot
there with this fashion, the vikings are awful. So you
even if you're in the you know, bottom half of
the league, your sixteen seventeen the league, that's a dramatic improvement.

So it looks good, Go get a head coaching job
the following year. And so now you got the Cardinals
basically looking between Calf and Louie and Rumo and who's
Indianapolis looking at at I mean it serious, seriously, like
we haven't heard much of anything, and just it feels

waiting at this point to make that announcement of that

This is my first time talking to an athlete. They
are groupie. It's not the first time. There's not their
first time time to an athlete. So when you give
the descriptive response of we're keeping an open mind and
it's not going to take days or take hours, it's
going to take days for us to make a decision,

it's the total opposite. He's already made the decision, The
mind is closed, the decision has already been made. But
that's that's what that calls up diffuge, Like that's I mean,
that's that's what's going on here. Everybody knows they're gonna

be the conversation of race relations as it applies to hiring,
how the process of hiring takes place, how there's loopholes
to it, and how it's not done fairly, because that

I was able to get it and the narrative it

Professional Sports League. So that can't have good without the bad.

I mean for one of the most storied basketball programs.
John Calipari has recruited, well, he's gotten guys to the league,
but what one one national championship? Why do you do this?

I'm just man, it's goad. Here's the problem. The meat
wagon is a die hard Kentucky text. I actually I
found my way onto a Kentucky men's basketball group text
Brady filed filed down the end of a twoth fresh
and it's just sticking him in the rim every time

I'm not gonna say who said this, but this is
this is what's being spread about John Calipari. He's got
a lifetime contract, but he's too arrogant to step down
even though he's lost the program and I t bound
can't be Quad one teams. He's just just warpus the

he does have a lifetime contract. Like there's nothing Kentucky
can do about it. It would take John Calipari leaving
for another opportunity or hoping that next year's class, which
is like his best recruiting class ever, can come save
the day. But I think the counterpoint to that is,
wouldn't you think if this is the direction the program
is going, you'd want to bring in someone else to

take advantage of that new class. What's the Calipari comping football?
Like who's who's a coach? Who's got one? But you go,
you should have to buy out like ninety million, Like
there's literally not a comp to this as far but
as far as success rate, got all that talent, all
that potential, he's got one national title, to show that. Yeah,

maybe not even less. I mean boors Ron wasn't there
long enough. I mean yeah, but he wasn't there long enough.
Does have one though, doesn't one, But I don't know
if he was there that long. Trying from Joe Paterno, Yeah,
paternal has got what too too too, though he was there.

But yeah, it just think about it. If if you
had two, maybe three, it might be three, it might
be too. But he he had an undefeated in ninety
and they didn't get it because they gave it to
Nebraska and then after that I mean four or after

in that category because he he did win a couple
and on top of that, like I think Calipari and
Kentucky was at the top of men's basketball. They made
the one and done a thing. And then as people
kind of came and infiltrated that, then it became more

but you know now that's become a little more spread
out as far as the talent. But even more so,
people have adapted adjustice and they have He hasn't been
able to develop the guys to get him to win
