I want to be the first to say to you
Happy Valentine's Day, right, and let that be a reminder
that if you need to do what you ever got
to do and pay five dollars more for some roses
that you could have gotten for a supermarket near you,
(01:48):
then go do what you gotta do, and just make
sure you don't piss anybody off around you. I'd say,
go online, find a nice love poem and write it
out by hand. Oh that's nice unless you're unless you're
create of enough to do it on your own. But
if you if you're not and you're lazy, just go
look it up online and write it out as if
it was something that came from your mind and your
(02:09):
heart and pass it along. Yeah, there you go. It's
a great move. It's it's way better than going and
buying something you know. Sometimes you just gotta give it
from the heart seemingly. Yeah. That also it seems like
the cheap way of doing it, by the way, you know,
(02:29):
working at a working at a restaurant on Valentine's Day
is hell on earth because everybody's full of crap. Every
like Well, the guy it's a set menu in a
lot of places, but sometimes it's not because they're not
gonna they're not gonna tell you know, if you want
to order something else, so and something. Sometimes the guy
doesn't want to look like a cheap ass by getting
(02:49):
what's on the set menu, so he's gonna go look
around the other partitions of the menu, even though it's
on special, because you'll have these three course meals and
the woman, the woman doesn't want to eat that much.
She doesn't want to eat that much. I mean, if
you've got to go to this length, you probably out anyways.
I mean, there's no chance of this thing. Actually, you know,
turn in the corner and you you know, getting on
(03:11):
good terms with them and that in that aisle if
that's what you want to shop in. And so it
just feels like it's it's what it wants to be.
Wine and doesn't want to sit alone on Valentine's Day.
It's a set menu on Valentine's Day. The price is
jacked up as it is. I told you my story
before about this. You probably don't even remember. You don't
even pay attention to. Yeah, I'm usually like watching all two.
(03:34):
That's what happened where I was in New York City
once for Valentine's Day. Took my my then wife, who
was my girlfriend I think at the time. We went
out to eat. There is a there's a couple, um,
a couple like the table next to us to top.
Apparently the one was like, gonna pay and he told
his partner, and this partner didn't bring his wallet, and
(03:58):
so there it's getting very dramatic. They're broken down because which,
by the way, it was an expensive ask dinner. I
was like, this, wasn't that good to be charging this much.
We're not, We're not doubling anymore. No, this is a
New York City. So I walked to the bathroom. I
come back and my wife had had apparently consoled the
(04:18):
two gentlemen and offered to pick up their tab. Since
at this point, you know, they're like, oh my gosh,
we're gonna have to clean dishes and all the stuff,
and and like one of them was like visibly crying,
like upset, and so she ended up saying like we
got it, like we'll pick up a tab. And I
was just like, wow, that's a really nice thing to do.
It was six dollars. I was just like, I mean, alright,
(04:42):
they wasn't crying one day, was eating that food and
drinking that drink. And by the way, like, how is
that on us to pay for your bill? I mean,
I don't know anyone ever Since then, I've been like, nope,
never going to a place as a set menu, and
I'm sure as hell sitting as far away from anyone else,
so that situation never presents itself again. I mean, listen,
(05:05):
it's a nice roundabout way to admit on the air
that you paid for two guys meal on Valentine's Day.
Well the best was after after we informed them that
they were like we were taking the tap and all that.
Oh they finished every little bit of that champagne. They
were no problem finishing that. You think they offered us?
Come on, but shots out to your your wife, man,
(05:29):
I would have been like, yeah, that's tough, man, Hey,
why don't you go grab a rag, get back there
in the kitchen. All right, I did this for a while.
Al Right, first job, bogey and bus boy, Embassy sweets,
Oh yeah, early morning shift. Yeah, did everything there. I
would just been too logical for it for the situation, Like,
did you guys not think about that before you walked
(05:50):
in the door. Did you not think about that after
you looked at what it was that you wanted to
eat on the menu. I would have waved a hundred
dollar bill in front of their face when you were sorry,
when you were or her in that bottle? Did you
not think about how much that bottle just might caught
you in the restaurant that wearing right? Couldn't If you
couldn't you just take their i D like, hey, give
me both your i ds. Go get your wall and
come back and we'll give your ideas back. I would
(06:13):
do that. I mean, there's whatever their solution was was
for them to handle, is what I would say, Everything
logically coming from me, Like I would have looked at
my girlfriend, my then girlfriend who would be my wife now.
I would have looked at her and been like, babe,
we gotta go, like we gotta go. But nowadays and
(06:35):
I'm a complaint. I'm gonna leave a complaint on my
way out, Like these people, these broke ass people. You
you're bringing broke ass people up in here that that
have altered my my eating experience on this special day
with my chicken. Now she feels like she has to
be uh, you know, accountable for this, like like this
is you need to do better, the problem is, And
(06:58):
they would put you on social media and then say
that there was harassment. I don't I don't care. I
don't care. I'm not the one not paying my billy
the multi times. Based on our friend in Phoenix, I
feel like LaVar wouldn't care. Yeah, with that guy, Yeah,
I did get a little Did I get chippy with
you know George? Yeah? Mr George who's working the bar. Oh,
(07:20):
we never went back. But he never came back either.
I never saw him. Yeah, I never went I never
went back to that bar after that. He might have
been on tour though. Well. The crazy thing is is
that I didn't get chippy. He got chippy. He did
get chippy, Yeah he did. I just I'm a finisher.
I'm not a starter. I don't start drama. I'm a finisher,
you know, they started drama with my baby bro. And
(07:42):
I never went back like you would have made on average,
I was paying ninety dollars per tab on average, not
to mention when I sat down with you guys like
I generally pay So wait, wait did you expense those yet?
Have you turned those out? I don't even turn an expenses.
I just had. I generally I'll turn in maybe my
(08:03):
ubers or stuff, but I'll take I'll take care of
what I do, you know, and and I'll take care
of what what like. We went out to Scottsdale. We
went to Bourbon and Bones. We had an amazing time.
The service was phenomenal, the food was good. Nobody's sitting
there like and and and you know, for what it's worth,
if you had ran in there, we told you to
(08:23):
come up in here. We're still having some drinks, were
hanging out, and you came in with your box of food.
I can guarantee you they would not have cared one
bit if you were eating some freaking chicken palm or
or some chicken marsala at the table while we were
getting drinks. Well, by rule, if you walk into a
place with outside food, it is a little bit disrespectful,
(08:45):
but it's different because you're staying at the hotel. And
Brady ordered a glass of wine with the food that
he already had and was gonna sit down for a minute.
Wasn't that big of a deal that they production their
food was twelve dollars. Twelve dollars. I'm just saying that's
what they did. I'm just saying. All I'm saying is
(09:07):
I I didn't get chippy. I just didn't go back.
I just didn't go back. First night I'm there. I
spent over a hundred dollars at that bar first night,
Sunday night I go in. I could have walked anywhere,
first of all, because I didn't even like their menu.
I could have went somewhere else, all right. I was
gonna go somewhere else the next day. And then I
(09:27):
discovered the Burger and the burger is fired fire, And
that was my only dilemma. Really, there was no other
dilemma I could. I mean, they're their long island was
good leaves, mystery beers. There was no other dilemmas I had.
All for the sake of a dollar a can of crap.
Sunday Sunday night, I spend like, I think it had
(09:50):
to be like two hundred dollars that I spent for
for my dinner, all right, and my drinks the next
day it was like ninety. I got like a couple
of drinks before we went out to to Scottsdale, so
it was like ninety dollars. And and then then I
want to say, the next day was the day I
ate lunch there. That was around ninety dollars. And then
(10:11):
that's when I was there with you guys later on
that night. So think about that. And that was only Wednesday.
That was Wednesday, so they would have got at least
another who knows, because people were coming in town. You know,
you pay for somebody here, you pay for somebody there,
you combine your check, gotta die boom. That's two hundred
dollars right there. They probably missed out on like two
(10:31):
hundred dollars at least twice a day from a patron
because of the way they handle things. Think about that, Well,
Phoenix made money on this Super Bowl. I'll say that
with some of the prices, so so be, so be
so be a and a and a white because you're
gonna make money because of the Super Bowl. Do you
know how much I was walking through the NFL fan experience.
Do you know how much some of the commemorative footballs were.
(10:54):
You could take home four hundred and fifty no football.
Now think about this, at least you get to keep
the football. You would have got four hundred and some
dollars off of two sit down mills at your bar.
You would have had at least four for the price
of something that you had that has value. Commemorative ball.
(11:17):
You costed yourself that in and just giving food like
that's food. And by the way, I felt such a
horse as asked when we went kept going out. Here's why.
The next day Lean Lavalhar get these drinks at the
table and it's like fog or smoke inside this glass
(11:37):
and then they poured out and then like there's this
smoke billowing out and it's this elaborate setup. It takes time,
the whole process, and I'm drinking a beer and I
was like, can I get mine to smoke? Like can
I get any sort of these additions to all this?
And I couldn't happen were you were you? I had
four long islands at the bar that boycott it. And
(11:58):
then we went out there and start against some meskow
with with the pineapple juice and that was seven drinks
had me on edge. Yeah you know it's a super Bowl, man,
And then we woke up and did it right. Yeah,
(12:18):
it's all good. Everything's fine. By the way, did you
guys see the new drama that's out there. Some people
are pistol. There's a lot of people who think the
fixes in that everybody that everything's catered towards the Chiefs,
the new Patriots, they get all the calls, they get
all this, etcetera, etcetera. There's a video out there of
Roger Goodell and Chris Jones of the Chiefs embracing after
(12:39):
the game and Roger Goodell Scott saying, I don't care
how you hit the quarterback and they're laughing it up,
and everyone says, see, this is a bias. This is
the bias with it with the Kansas City Chiefs in
the league. So if you're wondering why people are still
complaining about the Chiefs winning that Super Bowl and still
crying about the holding penalty that you could have called
at least a couple of times, and that one a
(13:00):
Kansas City has now got that narrative sort wrapped around
him because your guy Roger Roger Gerdell out there talking
about officiating being in an all time best big penalty
flags at the worst time, during the possible moment of
a game, at the end of the games, like back
to back. They were both penalties. They were they were.
It was just bad timing. I don't get the whole
(13:22):
Why then why call it? Then? Okay, so what's the
I don't get seven minutes to go in the game.
You can't make that call anymore. I don't get the argument.
I understand one that they were both fouls. I'm just
saying that the timing of them was just crazy. So
I've gotten into a Twitter debate with Joel Klatt because
(13:44):
Joel had a big issue with the penalty um fake
j fake talk over you um and his response eventually
because the one thing I wanted to point out to
him was and he knows this because Mike Prayer and
Dean Blandino, who are former vps of officiating, are the
(14:05):
best of the business and they do as good of
a job as anyone of educating us as analysts and
and those that work for Fox along with other officials
on educating them on how this all works, the rules,
et cetera. The thing that he knows is that officials
aren't trained and don't take into account the consequences of
(14:25):
making a call based on the time of the game.
So they're not taken into account the fact that it's
the end of the game and that call is most
likely going to determine the end. Right, So, instead of
getting a field goal and then Jalen Hurts in the
Philadelphia Eagles at last minute drive and a chance to
either tie with the field goal or went with a touchdown,
(14:45):
instead of getting the ending we all hoped for, we
got the ending that we got. Well, the officials aren't
taking that into account. They don't care about us as
viewers wanting to have that sort of ending to a game.
They're looking at the play and they're to termining. You know,
did for example, in that instance James Bradbury grabbed Jude
Smith Schuster and caused defensive holding. He probably could have
(15:09):
gotten called twice in that particular places you put I think,
I think the biggest thing that you look at is
breaking down the route itself and and what you're trying
to accomplish in it. Right, So some people will call
it a whip return, So you're running down inside to
try to sell a slant, to try to sell a
(15:30):
shallow cross. You're putting your foot in the ground that
change direction and go back outside, which is the part
of that whip route or whip return. And then what
they actually turned it into was a wheel because they're
trying to take a shot at the end zone knowing
it's man to man and that James Bradbury is one
on one. Well, the biggest issue with where you know
defensive holding comes into play is James Bradbery obviously defends
(15:54):
the inside. He doesn't want to have this inside leverage beaten,
and so as he goes to jump down inside and
once he realizes Juju Smith Schuster is about ready to
return outside, he then grabs his hips and jersey and
pulls himself back into position. You can't do that. I
mean that that's the definition of defensive holding, and for
(16:15):
that very reason because in that instance the defender is
then gaining an advantage. And then he pulls him a
second time once he realizes that, oh no, Juju is
going vertical off this to then help himself stay what's
it called in phase and try to stay at the
hip of the receiver. And for people out there who
don't understand this, the ball being catchable doesn't matter. That's
(16:37):
only in past interference. This was defensive holding, completely different.
So it doesn't matter if the ball is catchable or not.
And in fact, it doesn't matter if he's the intended target.
You can still call defensive holding even though they're not
throwing at that receiver. By the way, I can't believe
people needed that to be clarified, Like it wasn't past interference.
That's like this has been the rule. But but here's
(16:59):
the other thing that to be clarified I had. I
did someone say something, well, he's given five yards. It's
like no, no, no, no, no, that's illegal contact where
you have a five yard cushion essentially to be able
to be physical and use your hands after that five yards,
you're not attempt to this this that's a different rule,
and they still let you touch, but it is yeah,
(17:20):
hand jousting and stuff like that, but it is a
different rule. So even that people confused and like, well,
I thought in defensive holding, he's got a five yard cushion.
It's like, no, you're missing the point of what defensive
holding is versus a legal contact versus past interference. And
so look, maybe that's the NFL and they're officiating and
their lack of ability to communicate the rules better, but
that's just where the conversation starts. So then you have
(17:42):
someone like Joe Cloudy says, well, look, the problem is
it's inconsistent, and you have to have objective fouls or
penalties and subjective fouls and penalties, and they're they're officiated
differently objective ones. You've got to get him right subjective calls,
you have to be consistent. So him based saying defensive
holding is a subjective call and if they didn't call
(18:03):
it earlier in the game, they shouldn't call it at
that point in the game. So my response to that
is the issue you have then is you're you're basically
saying we're okay with being consistently bad on subjective calls.
So you're either making bad subjective calls or you're not
making the calls that should have been made that are
(18:24):
considered subjective calls that are bad. But as long as
we're consistent, you feel good about it. Like that's not
a solution either. We should be trying to get every
objective call and subjective call right. And how you go
about doing that is being able to implement replay like
we have it, and being able to have a challenge
(18:45):
by a coach where they can go challenge that and
they can go back up to replay, and instead of
following what we currently have is whatever the calls on
the field is what we have to go by, and
there has to be a burden of proof in order
to overturn it. Have that re play official then decide okay,
based on the rule is a defensive holding or is
it not? And if it is, so be it. But
(19:06):
when you provide the coaches an opportunity to throw a
challenge flag to go and review that at any point
in time during the game, you at least allow them
the chance to challenge it, whether it's earlier in the
game where it should have been called and wasn't, or
later in the game, And so you allow there to
be more consistency. You allow there to be at least,
in this case, not even so much more consistency, but
(19:26):
at least the chance to get it right. And and
that's my issue with this whole process. We have the
technical capabilities to get it right. But for whatever reason,
the NFL doesn't want to implement that. No, they don't
have enough money. It's not enough money in the league,
you know, so they got to make sure that they
can pay the bills there the NFL, they didn't make
enough money. From a hundred thirteen to a hundred eighty
million people watching this, Well, I'm just saying like, this
(19:49):
is I don't know why we're still having the conversation
all the after all these years, and they'd like half
ass remedies. They put a band aid on a bullet
hole and say, well, we can challenge p I S
for a year, and then they got rid of that
for a year. It's like, come on, dude, there's ways.
The funny thing was is Clatt used the example of
baseball and an umpire not being consistent with the strike
zone and the irony two that is what is baseball
(20:10):
now sort of implement literally have a camera to put
in a strike zone so it's more consistenty they get
it right. By the way, I would think it's literally
like the example you used, what's the worst example you
could use? Yeah? Yeah, would of all the sports the
last yeah, that would be the last one. I would
uh it is two pros and a cup of Joe.
(20:30):

Stop the music turned off? Every time? Phase it out.
I'm the one who ruined it. Yes, every time. I
mean like cruising nice ride and it showed us chips
at knife into the tire. I mean, what was that,
(22:59):
Joe the tire act com tire. I'll tell you that.
Whatever it was, you can replace it. That issue is
what was that though? What it is? Hold on? He said,
I want to film with love it TOA said, tell
me what it is? Yeah, hey, show did I did?
(23:29):
I thought you a front dinner? At what point I
think you did it? Yeah? Because of New York City.
Don't ask me what happened that champagne either with the possum.
Oh I saw a skunk this morning. Tell me what
it is. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was you, O

Terms and conditions apply. I want a bicycle, Okay, I said,
I want a bicycle. All right, fifteen minutes from now,
scrab somebody, somebody is back and it's going to make
a certain somebody on this show very happy. Somebody's gonna
be very happy. And about fifteen minutes from now on
this show, but be Derek Carr situation starting the heat,
(25:00):
who's getting the last last there? It looks like he's
not going to accept any trains, no trade. You're gonna
release my just let me go so I could get
the cash, and then he's gonna go ahead and look
another deal. So Derek Carr, this felt like this was
way this was gonna go and bring He pointed out
the way him and his agent worked his deal to
include this. This sets him up to be able to
(25:22):
cash in on another big deal. Correct, Yeah, I mean
I think if you're looking for a franchise quarterback, he's
he's probably gonna get at least what he was owed.
If not, you know, double that more. I mean, you're
gonna get more cash upfront too with the signing bonus
wherever he does end up signing. I mean, look, he's
still under contract with the Raiders. They're probably, I believe
the deadlines tomorrow, so they're giving themselves a Valentine's Day
(25:45):
chance of a team being able to trade for him.
And however that would work out, But it sounds like
he he would rather just move on, get released, sign
a new contract elsewhere, and let him and his agent
have their their pick of those desirable teams. And the
advantageous thing for him is there's probably gonna be a
team that wants to jump on him, um and and
(26:07):
and maybe it is an NFC team only because and
he went to visited the Saints. But you'd have to think,
if you're Aaron Rodgers, who everyone's gonna cove it in
one more once he comes out of the darkness and
decides whether or not he wants to play. It then
comes down to where the packers you're wanting to trade
him that people catch that, say that one more time
he comes out of the darkness, said, they're feeding him
(26:30):
like that, like they're treating him like literally liked like
solidary confinement, like like the way he gets and everything.
I mean, wouldn't you assume Yeah, I don't. I guess
you find more clarity and torture and I don't know.
I don't know. That would make me appreciate cheese courage
in Wisconsin more if I was sitting in solitary combinedment.
(26:51):
But here here, you're a lactose intolerant. Here's my thing.
We gotta talk later if you give me bad advice.
By the way, if you want to make that experience real,
why not just have them incarcerate you into it so
you don't And here's what I'm gonna tell you, be
a real upstanding in an individual you want you wanted,
(27:13):
said Quentin, Yeah, oh yeah, or Pelican Bay yeah, shoot
program Hey, look, hey, listen, you might come out a
little different, you know, saying he might have a tearran,
you might have a tear on his at, but he
might come out more gangster than what he did when
he went in. But but here's here's what I'm saying,
he's got up. If you're saying I'm going in here
(27:34):
for this amount of time to go find my clarity,
wouldn't you assume you the real deal? Wouldn't you assume
that at the point time you thought you had your
clarity and you're like, okay, I'm done, and I might
be like it might be an hour two in to
you being in your solitary confinement, right like okay, I'm done,
Like no, no, no, you're going to do this time.
It's like when J. J. Watt lied and said he
(27:56):
was preparing for a season, he disappeared into the woods
into some cabin and it turned out the place at
an elevator. It's like, come on, dude, like you know,
do the real thing. I'm just saying, like you can't
come out for a month, like you in here, give
me another month to think about it. Like we're gonna
open this. You're gonna get your little bit of light
when we give you your food, go full shawshank and
make him crawl through crap to get out to the
(28:18):
other side. He really wants to try to escape something
that you put yourself in on your own, so don't
try to escape. You just can't get out. You're not
allowed out until your time is up. That's when you're clear.
Your clarity is going to come on the other side
of you understanding that the freedom of you being able
to come and go as you please is not there.
(28:38):
That's where you're gonna find your clarity. That's all I'm saying. Yeah,
what we're talking about this I don't know either. Shut direct,
I try to take Yeah, go ahead, I'm sorry you
did to be able to go to any potential suitor
that's looking for a franchise guy who's experience. However, maybe
(29:03):
there might be some suitors or teams that are looking
at him, but they're also winning on Rogers, and that's
where it'll be interesting to see if car has to wait,
or if they've got the sense that there's someone who's
willing to sign him, or I should say, agree to
terms because they can't technically agree upon a contract to
the start of the new league year, which isn't until March,
(29:23):
so that could they could have all that in place
and basically at the start of the new league year
in March, they would then be able to make it official.
But I'm wondering if there's still gonna be a period
of time before he can actually get to that next
destination because of teams waiting to see what Aaron Rodgers
wants to do. Guess what I got right here? What
(29:43):
you got? What you got got? Some odds? Some odds
have been thrown out there? Did you really print them off?
Like you just look at the computer? It really does
have them in Yeah, come on, I mean that's just
bad for the environment. You know what is worse for
the environment people smoking in the middle of the street
in downtown l A. But that happened to nobody stops that.
So I'm gonna go ahead and at least he's lee
(30:10):
small intestine. Yeah, he just not said much today. He
must be in pain. Uh, he's back there. He's not
smiling much. What did you eat last night? I couldn't
keep anything down. You're tried some soup? Some chip PA's
got him, got him all turned around. Yeah, you were
all like proud of your stench yesterday. I know it
(30:30):
was kind of weird. It was peacocking around. I told you,
it was not natural, It was not it was not
of a person. It was extraterrestrial. Yeah, yeah, I mean
leave the student. If you could jack me up with
your funk. That is bad. Like he got almost threw up. Everybody.
(30:56):
Everybody was it was like he had sprayed with COVID.
They just said book like he's one of those clowns
at a carnival with a blue and on his head
and they're squirting stuff in his mouth. Lamar. LaVar said,
I was in the bathroom and I'm washing my hands
and I don't have I don't know what happened. All
I hear through the bathroom doors, Lamar say, that went
my mouth, like what happened so bad? He walked right
(31:22):
into my face. Man, it wasn't good at all. Who
do you guys think is the favorite to land their
car right now? If you had to guess, who do
you think he visited there? Right right their third There's
two teams listed as better odds. I'm gonna say Jets
first and then Colt's second. Neither one of those. Tampa
(31:46):
Bay yep, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers sitting at plus two fifty,
and then you've got the Carolina Panthers next step at
three to one, followed by the Saints so basically everybody
that was next, then it was the Saints, and then
you've got the Jets and then the entire NFC. Yeah, basically,
and they've got Indian Houston on here. I think Indie R.
There was already report that came out of the Colts
aren't interested in deir Car that they already came out
(32:07):
and some that was Jim Mercy because they'll do a
draft one like I would say the Colts, Texans, Panthers,
they don't not necessarily have to look that direction because
they're all in striking distance the draft one. Well there
you go. Yeah, so there that's the update on Tampa.
We'll see I mean to see that or Kyle Trash,
that's kind of what you what you're working with in Tampa?
(32:30):
What what what was his last night? Kyle Trash? Okay,
what do you think? I said? I don't know. I'm
not going to repeat it. It is two pros and

(36:57):
I just think it's funny. You know, you check in
on your ex from time to time, so they're doing
and just you know that that's how things are going
there for Lebron. You know, Darius Garland Evan mobile like
some some really good you know, young young players would
have got the Mob brothers. Um, they're good. They're a
good squad. They're fun. That'll be a fun watch in
(37:17):
the Eastern Conference playoffs. And and on a more somber
serious note, we didn't talk about it, but uh, thoughts
and prayers out to East Lansing and to Michigan State
and and you know everything that's that's taking place there. Yeah,
that's that's you know, that's that's very sad. It's unfortunate.
There's a whole lot of things to explain that said happening.
(37:38):
But on a on a serious note, uh, yeah, thoughts
and prayers to to all of the families impacted and
affected by by that senseless act. Yeah, that's a bummer
seeing everything that went on and just how that all
transpired and everyone's and it was kind of a scary
situation because nobody knew where the guy was, so he
was still active and they're just telling people hide and
so imagine being on that campus and is he around
(38:00):
the corner like I have no I mean, there was
a video that made the Rounds walked right by a
sorority house. They probably had no idea what was happening,
and it was a lot of people. So again, thoughts
and it is too pros and a cup of jail.
