guys were aware of this or not. Mike McCarthy's now
calling plays in Dallas. Yeah I heard that. Yeah, he's
calling plays. And in fact, Mike McCarthy spoke, had some
(01:25):
big words, spoke about how excited he is to be
back calling plays for America's team, the Dallas Cowboys. This
is most fun ive had since I've been in Dallas.
I mean, just to be in the meeting room again
with the coaches full time. You know, we've been getting
you know, just to go you know, eight to eleven,
thirty and break and it's you've been talking nothing but
(01:46):
you know, skiing. You know, I haven't had that. So,
um so that death parts different. But then, uh, you know,
you have, you know, these great, great responsibilities here that
you have to keep going and um so just you
got to you got to delegate more. I mean, we
have a good plan, and um I think doing us
in year four is totally different than you know, what
I've been doing in year one, especially coming in with
(02:07):
the pandemic and everything that we had to year one.
So Mike McCarthy also went on to say, courtesy of
the Dallas Morning News, the difference between him and Kellen
Moore the previous offensive coordinator quote, Kevin wants to light
the scoreboard up, but I want him to run the
damn ball. So I can rest my defense. I think
when you're a coordinator, you know, but you're in charge
of the offense. Being a head coach and being a
(02:29):
play caller, you're a little more in tune with everything.
So there's your, there's your. Michael was a shot, and
that confirmed that it was a shot. Tell themar I
mean he took a shot, A couple of shots. What
do you do touch shots? Bamn bang bang, like that's
that's he took shots. What was the gannon sounds shots? Shots?
(02:55):
That's exactly what it was. And again it brings me
back to the original point that I made when we
spoke about Mike McCarthy the last time, in terms of
him taking over to play calling duties, he's setting the
stage either for him to have to deal with no
(03:18):
more runway in terms of the amount of success that
this team has, or Dak Prescott is set up to
be the fall guy. It's either way. Either you have
success and and everything that you said plays out the
way that you you wanted it to play out, where
you're making the play calling, the team drastically improves and
(03:42):
you see those results, or you don't. And if you don't,
it's most likely going to be because of a lack
of production from your offense. And if it's a lack
of production from your offense, then where is the blame
going to go? That's that's that would be my biggest qua.
He goes on Mike first. Mike's the next fall guy,
(04:05):
and then it's Dak because if you look at that
Dak's contract, they can't get out from underneath it. They
really can't. For the next two years, his dead cap
hit if they tried to release him, would be eighty
nine million this year. That's it, and by the way,
next year in twenty twenty four, so we're talking two
years from now, it's thirty nine point nine million. Now,
(04:28):
I guess you could do a post June one designation.
You cut that number in half and spread over two
years to make it twenty million each one of those
years in your cap. But that's still pretty significant for
a guy who hasn't been there. For two years, right,
So it's a big year for Dak. I even think
if they're looking at like extending him out because he's
got some dumby years left on the back end of
(04:49):
his deal. But I think Mike's the first one to
potentially go and these parting words for whatever reason, Like,
I think he speaks of some truth. I mean, look
at when you you're a head coach, you have just
better perspective. You're seeing the entire thing and how everything relates.
You know. So if you have an aggressive defensive coordinator
likes to blitz a lot, okay, that might create a
(05:10):
bunch of negative plays, and it might, you know, create
a bunch of three and outs, but there also might
give up two or three big plays that turned into touchdowns.
And so if you've been an offense that can't compete
with that, you know, you might say, we'd rather, you know,
play a little more Ben Butell Brank do give up
any big plays forced them to kick field goals and
then maybe we can eke one out right like that,
(05:32):
There's just a there's a there's a way of going
about having game flow. And I think what he's speaking
to is the fact that Kellen Moore is more concerned
about becoming a head coach one day and showing his
offensive prowess by putting up a bunch of points and numbers,
and that's what he's more focused on. So you know,
both things can be true. I just I feel like
(05:53):
when your offense is able to score points, you know,
you should be able to win a lot of football games,
or you should be able to score more. It kind
of feels like an excuse sometimes to put it on
Kellen Moore, who you know, had this offense always when
they had a healthy quarterback in a good position. You know,
they were a top ten offenser that his entirety of
his time. There's a play caller when Dak was healthy.
(06:16):
So it feels like he's kind of pointing the blame
here him to point you now, because what's the point
of taking a shot at a guy after he left
unless you're feeling the heat and you wanted to be
known everything that was an issue before that wasn't on
me because now here's the difference. Why I like it
this way and he was doing it that way, And
(06:37):
how much fun I'm having now that I finally get
control of everything. It was painful watching Kellen do it,
and now I'm having the most fun that I've had
since being here. You threw him under the bus. And
while I agree with UQ that that, to me, the
hammer drops on Mike McCarthy's now next. I still think
he's positioning Dak Prescott to be the fall guy if
(07:00):
it doesn't go that way, whether it ends up being
Mike McCarthy or not. He Mike McCarthy is clearly someone
that has no problem throwing a guy under the bus.
That's why he just showed us. It's weird man. So
he's got to keep himself in position. Is he keeping
himself in position to keep his job or is he
(07:21):
putting himself in position to win a Super Bowl? To me,
he'd probably say both, right. I mean, I would want
it to be both. But I in my mind, I
think he's making sure he protects his job first, because
I don't know that this. I mean, can he look
at his team and say, you know what, this is
a super Bowl caliber team? I mean maybe he does.
(07:44):
He probably does, but I don't know how realistic that is.
I mean, if Rogers leaves the NFC's pretty week, Yeah,
it's open. There's an opportunity, but it was open this year. Yeah,
this year. I mean, Philly had such a great year
that it was tough for for Dallas to try and
you know, take over that division, even though that had
(08:04):
an opportunity late in the season. And obviously Dakx Prescott
Prescott's injury played into early on what the issues there,
But Cooper Rush came in, they won a bunch of games,
The defense has played well. Micah Parsons one of the
best players in the league period. I just it's it's
funny to me that he's taking this aggressive of an approach.
(08:24):
And I kind of put some of the blame, if
not majority, of the blame on Jerry Jones, because when
Jerry Jones is out there ball washing his coordinators and
talking about how they should be head coaches, and you've
got all the Sean Payton rumors, the fact that Mike
McCarthy has to even look over his shoulder knowing he's
only got one left to get rid. Oh well, yeah,
but now that Sean Payton has taken a job elsewhere,
(08:46):
dan Quinn's gotta be the guy, like he's got to
be the heir apparent. And Mike mccarth about how they
kept him, right I think about it, he had the
opportunity to leave, He's like, nah, multiple years in a row,
I think I'll stay. That was kind of yeah, No,
I'm enjoying myself and Dolls, I think I'll stay. What
they say to him because he was happy as hell
(09:08):
to maintain being a decordinator in Dallas's which instead of
going somewhere else. Now I think, yep, I'm yeah, I'm
gonna take my chances here. And he could have had
a job last offseason and this offseason. That's but the
way he came back like yeah, no, I don't need
to take any more interviews. It's like, we're good here.
(09:29):
I just what did Jerry Jones say to hell? What? What? What?
What type of what type of briecase? Do they still
do briefcase? Maybe he did his apple pey I don't know. No,
it's old school. He's still with briefcase combination on it. Hey, man,
I watch a lot of I watched a lot of TV. Man,
don't briefcases be for real? Bro? That mean hell, I've
(09:51):
seen the briefcases in person. I mean hell, I've received
briefcases before. Cash cash owe me how much cash? Cash
well that one. It was quite a bit when did
you get that me a while ago? I plan on
doing that one time in my life. There's there's some
(10:14):
really ignorant s that I'm going to do if I'm
like to me and making it in business and doing
it for you is different than making it in and
playing like. I want to be successful as a businessman.
And one of the wildest things I want to do
is one, I want to do a deal with a briefcase,
(10:37):
like a leather one. Yes, yeah, like nice slashes, you know,
like the safety that it's got, the locks on on
the on the straps, like, I want to do a
deal with a briefcase. Two and I and I want
to plank on like ten million dollars. I want to plank.
I want to plank on it, like I want to
bring the plank back just for one night and plank
(10:59):
on it in Vegas. That's weird. I know. I told
you I was with you, bro, Bro, I listen, I
told you some of it is weird stuff, bro. But
that's what I want to be naked too. Now, what
color briefcase? I've got some price brief like a brown one,
like like in my mind I like, yeah, I mean
(11:21):
I'm seeing one for about one hundred and seventy nine dollars. Yeah,
that's kind of that's not it though, where you're finding No,
there's nothing one hundred and seventy nine dollars. Yeah, yeah,
that's it. That's it right there. That's it my dad.
I was just to like keep it for that moment.
It's so great. I mean, even if I only have
like one folder, I just want to take it to
(11:41):
a meeting, pop it up and be like, okay, here
sign this. Yeah. Yeah, I think. God, I think I
still have my dad's. Those are the best ones. And
if they're distressed and beat up, I mean that's the best.
That's the best one. I think I still have that.
I think I'm going to get me a briefcase. I
don't know the combination though, And this is a double
(12:02):
common people still use briefcases. They should not. Really everybody's
like a backpack person these days, or like right backpack satchel.
I don't think we I have like a what would
that's like, It's not like s is it a satchel?
I don't know. That's not surprising for Jona. Yeah, it's
(12:23):
by the way, these new modern brief briefcases have like
something for your cell phone, apocket for yourself like it.
I don't like any of that, So I like the
old school, old school. Open it up and it's like
on pulp fiction where the gold bar just shining. Just
so sophisticated. I'd like to think that you can't be lazy,
like you got to carry that bad boy yep, you know.
(12:44):
I mean it doesn't have the like the the strap
on it. Some of them have straps, right, but it
doesn't have like literally the sophisticated ones, the old school
style gentleman type. There's no straps on that. You got
to carry it. So you're carrying that thing in your hand.
You're walking in the in the elements with your heart
bottoms on. Ye, you got your suit on, like for me,
(13:06):
I don't. I don't even want to have to have
a suit suit on. I'm gonna have on some like
designer jeans. I might even have on some some some ones.
I might have on some Jay ones. And I'm gonna
have my my my my collar shirt tucked in because
I'm losing my belly. Queue like I am losing my belly. Man.
I'm preparing for these moments. I'm gonna be able to
(13:29):
I'm for the briefcase moment. I'm gonna be able to
tuck my shirt in and I'm gonna wear a nice,
a nice dress jacket, maybe even my Hall of Fame jacket.
And I'm gonna do the deal. Yeah, and I'm going
to do it with cash homie, and it's gotta be brown,
can't be black. I'm gonna pop that bad boy right on,
or I'm gonna put it on the table. I'm pop
it up and then it just flips right open. Do
(13:51):
we have a deal, sir? Yeah, I gotta get one.
It might be for you, It might it might be
for you and Jonas you never know. And que by
the way, Wall, I mean, you know, Brady and I operate.
Brady told me that he might get you on the
back room and up a room because he wants two
briefcases so he could do shoulder shrugs, maybe some lunges
while he's got Yeah, I can't be off balance. Yeah,
(14:12):
so I've got to have two. I mean, maybe our
show is good enough where we go into the next
meeting room in the boardroom and the briefcases are put
in front of us. How about the lamb it on
the desk. Put that bad boy three on the desk
to go just like this, Just put three on the desk,
bawn and walk out, shake, shake the hands, and then
it opens up. Move on our move on our way. Yeah,
(14:33):
that's how I want the next deal done. It's fun, man,
or the deal or the deal class right, just class personified.
Look at all this. Yeah, yeah, this is good stuff.
Man telling you. It is two pros and a cup
of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. Until we got
the planking, Yeah, why would I can understand Snow angels
(14:54):
and ten million dollars and white planking naked in my room.
I don't know. It was just a weird, little little
I've seen it one time and I was like, I'm
gonna do that. I'm gonna plank on them. But it's
somebody plank naked on cash. And they weren't naked, but
they were planking. I put in naked because once I
lose all this weight and I'm like feeling good about myself,
(15:16):
I'm just gonna bear it all on my ten million. Yeah,
I net it. You look good And unfortunately you should
check your boy man, check your boy man. This whole
thing is it's getting it's getting there together. It's coming together, man,
although it's gonna ruin a portion of this show that's
almost panicked. I almost panicked and took my hoodie off
(15:37):
in the gym yesterday. I almost did it, and then
I was like hell no. I looked around, I saw
two three people. I was like hell to the no,
I'm still not there. I'm going to keep my hoodie on. Yeah,
but you're killing the myth of you being overweight though,
so that's gonna be I'm not overweight now. You never were.
(15:57):
I'm not now. I definitely Italy was okay. My belly
was on my To Jonas's point though, which is the
greater point, you are killing a portion of content on
our show. You got to keep it going. I don't know.
We may have to bring in someone who does fit
that category though, just talk about it. Yeah. I don't
want to go back either. I'm sorry. I want to
be a I want to be a testament and I
(16:19):
want to be a support to all of us out
here that I have had this affliction and have had
to fight through it. I want to let you know
you can do it like I have been consistent for
a month. Now it's been a month. Yeah, yeah, I've
been consistent for a month. No, like I literally only
have a drink on the weekend, which I did have
(16:40):
one yesterday. I did have a long island but I
walked six miles to get it. True, I walked six
miles Berto does when he goes to the Raiders bar.
And then I had to call one of the kids
to come get me because I was like, what the hell,
I'm I'm using my ankle right now. I'm using my
ankle right now. I had I didn't realize that how
(17:02):
bad six miles felt if you haven't done it before, yeah,
for a long time. Well, hey, there you go, look great.
Thank you. It is two pros and a cup of
joe here off you look you feel great? They paid grace. Yeah,
you know that's what That's what we've discovered. And we
could talk about how complicated other banks make it to
redeem credit card rewards, or we could talk about how
(17:24):
Discover you can redeem your rewards for cash in any
amount at any time. I mean, talk about amazing learn
more at discover dot com. Slash redeemed rewards terms apply
all right, So coming up next, we have one team
in the NFL who's got a lot of decisions to
make at the quarterback position, but apparently they've already decided
on one. We'll tell you who that is right here
(17:44):
on FSR. Be sure to catch live editions of Two
Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington,
and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio. More cowbell, Yeah,
and he's more cowbell? Yeah? Is that here we go?
(18:14):
It's picking up? Is it right around the corner? Oh? Yeah, interesting,
here's coming? Hey? Oh I'm sorry, Yeah, I thought I
(18:35):
was gonna go there to it. Hold on, hold on
the left. This is what they play with the Dolphins
score touchdown, they play this, man. I mean, if this
doesn't get you going, bar, I don't know what does.
I would want to die that was if that was
(18:57):
my team and that's what we're celebrating to I just
take me now. Is that better or worse than Steelers polka?
I don't know. Turn on Steelers Polka, Pittsburgh Steelers Polka.
Let's let's compare. Yeah, if you want to do a
side by it's bad. It's a football Friday, see, which
we really we really shouldn't do. It is bad time
(19:23):
with the great football. That's way worse. Hold on, which
is worse? This one is way worse. Yeah, hey, you
want to get shot or stabbed? I don't know. I
mean my hairs are bleeding steeler, Oh my gosh. But
you know what though, I'm just telling you right now,
(19:44):
that's an entire that's an Italian bass type of song,
that polka. Yeah, and in Pittsburgh, that is the ish
You let that bad boy right there, right when you're
out at the bar, you're you're sitting at the restaurant.
Everybody could get behind that because that's the cultures. It's
the culture in the burg. Like this, maybe like that.
(20:09):
Then I start doing this. It starts bouncing up and down,
then start going fast. They're like that, dude. Yeah, I
know we're all radio, but I tell you what the
dances people due to this this one. For a second,
is Polka considered Italian? I thought it was like check.
(20:31):
I thought Polka for me, I always associated Polka with Italians. God,
I don't think that's right though. I'm pretty sure it's
like check. Well, you might be right, but it wasn't
check in Pittsburgh, that's all. I'll say the polka this one't?
This right here? Yeah, this right here? That's Italian. I
(20:52):
don't that's Italian. I'm pretty sure it's check. But all right,
well let me say so. The accordion is the key instrument.
And if you go to like a bukata beppo, you
know where the accordion is up on the wall. Nobody's
playing the accordion, so it is check. There's nothing Italian
about this. Oh this, this song is totally Italian. By
(21:13):
the way, why are you obsessed with Buka to beppo? Jonas?
He said Italian? Was I supposed to say Dominoes? I
don't know. You could say Maggiano's. You could save any
one of those garden all right, Olive Garden stinks. Come on, man,
you're gonna put Alive Garden in the same categories Buka
to beppo. You gotta be a shame to yourself. Yeah,
(21:35):
that's somebody who's been Italian for a year. You gotta
be a shame to yourself. I will easily put those
two in the same category. That is, there are a
lot of people in Pittsburgh that are proud of me
right now for not backing down on this whole check thing.
By the way, check Republic, I'm not disputing that. But
how we rocked to it, That's how we rocked to it.
(21:57):
There's a lot of people that are proud of me
right now. You're welcome, guys, I held us that whatsoever?
So what berto the Italian stole a Czech republic sar?
That's that's that's what happened. Makes sense. I'm going right
with it. Yeah, that's how they weren't right there? But
(22:19):
is it better than fins to the left, fins to
the right? No, fiends to the left fiends That one
sucks too, But I mean not as bad as the Pope.
That might be the only song I'd be like hanging
out Lee and Todd jamming out too? Are they going
to play that lead? You think that's on the set list?
I would lean towards. Now, so many bangers, it's just
(22:41):
it's hard to pick which one, right, is it true?
It's true? So true. My buddy was telling me the
one whom I found out is a Jimmy Buffett parrot head.
And I didn't know this, and I've known him twenty
five years. He was saying that you could show up
to a Jimmy Buffett concert with no alcohol on you
and just hang out in the parking lot and get slaughtered. Yes,
people are just handing you booze if you walk by.
(23:03):
I mean, this is gonna be my first with a
bunch of people who've gone to countless. But um so yeah,
I've heard, but it rivals tailgates. These guys all tailgate
Washington State. They're all from Washington State. They say it's
better than those tailgames. Oh god, that's uh, that's pretty
cool though, that people are that inviting and hospitable, you know,
to be passing along happy girl that you're going on
(23:26):
this trip, She's not happy at all. Yeah, yeah, let's
leave that one. Yeah, Lea's walking back. I've been on
my best behavior for like two weeks. Yeah, yeah, Lea's
walking back to the electric chair. When he give me,
does that best behavior include, like, you know, not hanging
out with Todd? Yeah? Well yeah, I was so sick
(23:48):
because we saw what he was doing last time he
sent us a photo of him. I mean, he's actually
sending me photos from Denny's right now. Oh my gosh,
I mean why not? Why was getting the grand slams?
I can understand why she's upset with you for other reasons,
and she's fighting for time and space. Todd's thirty two
in the morning. I bet you, I bet you. Your
(24:09):
chick isn't sending you pictures of what she's doing, right,
that's true about that? Should leave her for Todd. I
think that's what we Todd is hopefully sleeping. Yeah, well
you would hope that Todd would be sleeping. Well, Todd's working,
He's got to fork a little bit. He can't be
working if he's at Denny's got a moon's over my
hammy and a flask in front of him on a Friday,
he's he's carbo loading. Yeah, that's what it is. Todd
(24:34):
is trying to strategically work his way into Lee's like forever.
I think, you know what, this is a classic case
of cable guy. That's what this is right here. This
is a cable guy situation because at some point Lee's
girlfriend's gonna be like, listen, you've had enough, Todd. Now
it's you and me time. And then you're gonna hear
(24:54):
knocks at the door. You know, the cable's gonna go out,
the Internet's gonna go Wow, things are going to go out,
and he's going to need Todd to help him. It
was bad when we were neighbors. Definitely ended ended some relationships. Yeah,
it ended one. Oh wow, man, I love Todd. I
mean Todd is going to win out in the end. Yeah,
I think so too. Yeah, Like we're going to all
(25:16):
be together and we're gonna be chumming it up and
we're going to be sending Lee off to that holy
place of matrimony. I think I got taught at like
a minus one eighty right now, Lee. Yeah, Wow, Yeah,
I think heavy money's pouring in on Todd after the
past couple of days. Yeah, I mean I could see why.
It seems like safe money to me. Huge by the way,
(25:37):

(26:00):
One team in the NFL is trying to figure out
what the hell they're doing at quarterback, and it's all
sort of mixed signals that's taken place over the past
year or so. Is the New York Jets? Do they
really like Zach Wilson? Do they not? Is Joe Flack
of the guy? Is he not? Is Mike White the guy?
Is he not? Are they going after Aaron Rodgers? Is
Derek Carr? In the conversation, Well, Robert Sala did speak
(26:21):
about their best quarterback from a year ago in Mike White,
take a listen. I feel like I probably should be
talking about him, are Mike. Mike deserves every bit to
be talked about. He should be on this roster also,
and he's, uh, you know, we carried three last year.
But again he's going through his process and U and
it's just something that obviously we're keeping close tabs on
(26:43):
so little. Mike White loved the it's it's what played
against Burtoh, you're gonna hear it now. I feel like
I probably should be talking about him more. Mike Mike
(27:04):
deserves every bit to be talked about. He should be
on this roster also, and he's, uh, you know, we
carried three last year. But again he's going through his
process and uh um. And it's just something that obviously
we're keeping close tabs on. So are you making fun
of the odds? I mean it was a count, There
was a count. The you can't anyway, Mike, Mike White
(27:30):
is a good football player, man. And you know, if
they're adding a quarterback, is he gonna roll with three
and have Mike White and Zach Wilson on the rock.
It's like they it's almost like they're hoarding quarterbacks. They
can't let it go. Like somebody's got to leave. Somebody's
got to take it. Come on, don't have a quarterback
like he can't. He can't hold on to everybody. You
(27:50):
got to move on at some point. I just as
I said before, all right, if it's Rogers, okay, maybe
he plays for a year, that hangs it up. I
would think, though, if you're gonna if you're gonna play
and you want to move teams, I probably want to
give it a couple of years. Like I even think
the Jets should want that like, if I'm the New
(28:11):
York Jets and I'm Woody Johnson and he's obviously gonna
be involved. If you're bringing in Aaron Rodgers, you're probably
looking at him saying like, dude, if you're gonna come here,
you're gonna come for a couple of years. Like, let's
figure this out. Let's restructure the contract, you know, let's
make it a two three year deal, maybe four, and
we put some dumby years in the back end. But
the truth of the matter is like, you shouldn't want
him if he's just gonna come for a year. You'd
(28:34):
rather him come for at least a couple of years,
see what you can do. And if that's the case,
I don't know where that leaves Zach Wilson, because now
Aaron Rodgers is your priority, he's your starter, and so
I don't know what this whole conversation about. Zach Wilson's
not done here and he's still you know, gonna develop,
and we're still it's like, okay, but he's not who
(28:55):
you want starting. If if Zach Wilson's playing plan A
got blown up and there's an jury to Aaron Rodgers, Okay,
So that's the that's the Rogers conversation or route, because
from Woody Johnson who said they want to go out
and get you know whoever. They need to to go
win because they do have a roster that's built to
win right now. Two, Now, all right, what about Derek Carr. Okay,
(29:17):
so let's say let's say Derek Carr's visited, they met
with multiple times. Now, let's say he's the answer. It's
not a quarterback competition. It's Derek Carr. All right. He's released.
So he's gonna sign an agreement that's gonna pay him
more than Zach Wilson, and he's gonna be the Jets
quarterback for the foreseeable future, not not just just this
upcoming year, probably the next few years. And so if
(29:41):
that's the case, where does Zach Wilson fall into play? Like,
if I'm Zach Wilson, his crew at this point, once
the veteran they signed, either trading for Rogers or sign Car,
I'm asking for a trade. I'm like, dude, let me
go somewhere else. Let me go somewhere else where I
can try to go play and get on the field
and all that. Let the Jets sign back a guy
(30:01):
like Mike White who has proven that he can step
into games and get you out of a game, go
win you a game. He's capable, he's experienced, and he's
a mature kid. So let him be the backup, and
then you've got car or Rodgers as your starter. Like
that would be a much better plan moving forward for
the quarterback room and everything else than keep it around
(30:23):
a guy who you who you overdrafted at number two
and you're trying to like make feel good or trying
to make it sound like it wasn't a mistake, but
the reality is, like it hasn't worked out. Like, allow
both of you to move on and do it before
the draft, so at least you get some sort of
draft capital in exchange that you can use either as
part of the Rodgers trade or to build around Rogers
(30:46):
or Derek Carr as their next quarterback because they have
drafted and developed well. Not only does it make sense
to handle it that way, but when you think about
how feasible it would be to dis place Zach Wilson
for someone else, I know, I don't see that being
(31:07):
something that works out. I really don't, So you would
have to think about moving Zach Wilson, Like, I think
that makes the most sense. And for what it's worth,
give Zach Wilson an opportunity at this young juncture in
his career to see if he can make it work
somewhere else because it did not work in New York,
(31:28):
or does he become a professional backup. I mean, there's
always that possibility. And some people say that's the best
job you could possibly have in the National Football League.
And if the argument for Zach Wilson is well, they
spent a top draft pick on him, I mean you
got to give the guy a chance. Okay, then why'd
you deactivate him last year? That was the chance you had.
Why'd you handle it the way you did last year?
(31:49):
It just doesn't None of it makes sense if you
already know and by all accounts, given what what Woody
Johnson came out and said when he said he's willing
to open up the bank and the checkbook to get
a high profile quarterback, the book has already written, like
(32:10):
you already know what it is. So it's not about Okay,
it's a high draft pick. You gave up draft picks
to get him. He's got to get a that's gone
like you said that that is not in play at
this point. Wood, He's already made it. The owner of
the team has already made it clear he wants to
get a franchise QB. So does that mean now you
(32:30):
bench Zach Wilson and and and wait and see if
he develops while a high profile guy comes in and
hopefully gives your franchise that extra oo that they needed
to get over to hump or do you get rid
of them? I just think that it becomes a messy
deal if you were to bring in another high profile quarterback,
(32:53):
a free agent quarterback, and you still have Zach Wilson
on your roster, It just that gets messy. And in
New York, so every every bit of every detail is
going to be in the tabloids as to what's going
on week by week. And that means if they don't
play well, that that starter that comes in as the
free agent doesn't play well. You know that It's coming
(33:17):
back to Zach Wilson and Zach Wilson conversation. And the
last thing I'll just say to go along with that,
do you think Aaron Rodgers or Derek Carr cares at
all about Zach Wilson's development. No, they're coming there. If
it's Rogers, he's restarting his career in a new city
to try to win a super Bowl on a really
good roster. If it's Car, same thing, Like, do you
(33:39):
think they are focused at all on Zach Wilson or
what he's doing or hooking up with moms and all that,
like he like there is zero thought of his well
being in development like it just it doesn't make sense
for either party to continue to entertain this and as
tough as it is, it's like to just move on,
like a allow him the chance to go somewhere else
(34:01):
where he can, you know, see if you can play
somewhere else and make it happen, and allow your organization
the chance to not have that distraction or not have
that lingering around the pick elf in the room. It's
