Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's the best of two pros and a couple of
Joe with LaVar At, Rady Quinn and Jonas Knots on
Fox Fourth Radio. We do have ourselves a developing situation
in the NFL. This is the story that everybody has
been waiting for. This is the story that a lot
of people have been very nervous about. Can we finally

(00:22):
get this guy to hell out of town? It appears
that the Washington Commandos may finally have a buyer. We
might finally have a deal. A preliminary agreement has been reached,
according to reports. It's Josh Harris. He co owns the
seventy sixers and the New Jersey Devils, also part of
the Crystal Palace FC soccer club, the English Premier League team.

(00:46):
He appears to be the winner. There is a six
point oh five billion dollar price tag attached to it.
When you consider Dan Snyder bought the team for eight
hundred million back in the late nineties, I'd say he
did okay for himself. If this is legit also Magic
Johnson is a part of this uh this group as
well too. By the way, if you're wondering, yes, it

(01:06):
is the same Magic Johnson who said Lonzo Balls Jersey
will be hanging from the Raptors as Staples Center. But nonetheless,
the Washington Commandos appear to be on the verge of
no longer belonging to Dan Snyder, and we might finally
see an end to the longest story in the NFL.
How about it? The damn Commandos six billion a change.

(01:28):
There's there's a lot of people who are excited about this,
you know, that they feel like there's finally some finality
to it. I mean, LaVar can speak on this better
than probably anyone, but it's been a terrible tenure of
ownership and so you know, not only from an organizational
standpoint and everything else that went on within that organization,

(01:49):
but obviously the way everyone was treated. I mean, and
I mean everyone, everyone involved, players, you know, people that
work there, people in the organization. There's just just it
wasn't good, you know, And I know, at least on
the outside, they try to bring some good people and
do the right things there towards the end, because I
think Dan Snyder saw the light at the end of
the tunnel, like this was coming. But you know, now

(02:13):
you get the finality of it, and it's crazy to
me for what Washington has been the past deck two
decades or or even just under his ownership six billion,
it makes Denver look like a steal and Denver's won
a super Bowl in the past decade. I've been to

(02:33):
two Like it's I mean, they've been a much more
successful organization over its history, and yet they sell for
what I one and a half billion less. It's just
kind of crazy. But anyway, I'm happy for Washington Commando fans.
I hope they get back to the days of, you know,
having more success at the Hogs and all that. But

(02:55):
it's got to be a good day for some people
out there. Of far, it's a I would say it's
it's one of those things where it's going to be
the opportunity for this ownership group to step into an
amazing market and rejuvenate and revitalize a fan base that

(03:22):
has either had to endure what took place when Dan
Snyder took over the team, or I would say provoke
or inspire people who are local to get back in
the rhythm of what their local team represents, because I

(03:45):
think there was a long enough time for a tremendous
disconnect to take place. Somebody who's you know, nineteen twenty
years old and below probably may not be Washington Commanders
fans and for obvious reasons. So I think the first

(04:07):
thing that that comes to mind is what you said
in terms of how you treat the people these these
two owners in particular, I know there's a third one
as well. UM. I think they they have shown and
they're there are other other ventures with their other franchises
that they they know how to treat the people within

(04:29):
those organizations and and so I think that that's going
to be the biggest bonus, is cleaning up the culture
within the building. And I believe once that happens, if
that were to happen, then you'll start to see some
tremendously UM I would say vastly improved results from from

(04:54):
that team. They've They've got five winning seasons under Dan Snyder.
And I think people forget and we talked about the
Hogs and you mentioned that, Brady, but I think people
forget they were one of the great franchises in the
NFL with all the Super Bowls they won. They won
a couple in the eighties, they won won early in
the nineties. Like if you looked at just those great

(05:16):
teams from back in the day. It's you know, the Niners,
the Giants back then. Washington was right there, and people
forget that because Dan Snyder is almost a race that
from everybody's memory. You've seen the attendance numbers plummet. I
mean since he bought the team in nineteen ninety nine,
the five winning seasons, they've only got two playoff wins.

(05:36):
They're fifty six games under five hundred leavar. I think
you were there for one of the playoff wins that
they have. Other than that, it's it's been a complete disaster.
And what's the common denominator. He bought the team and
it was downhill ever since. So if yeah, if you're
a Washington fan who actually stuck by him through all this,
you've got to be thrilled with the news that came out.

(05:58):
It's got to be pretty exciting if you ask me. So,
there's nothing really profound to say about it other than
he just was a horrible owner and that and that
that probably will be the single biggest factor in this
organization having an opportunity to turn things around and and

(06:19):
have success moving forward. Yeah, but it does feel like
this opens the door for a little bit of reunion.
I mean, yeah, stick City, Yeah back in. I've been gone.
I've been gone for so long. First of all, I
love DC one hundred percent love DC. My family still
lives there, my mother and father living up a Marlborough UM,

(06:39):
Marlborough UM. My brother still lives in in northern Virginia Nova.
So uh in the ground in Annapolis that there's probably
some very very nice trees that are there based upon
my my lovely, wonderful, amazing fish that tragically parish due

(07:03):
to rain like you're you're dealing with. And our generator
did not um last, it didn't have enough uh you know,
oil in it to last. So is that what it was?
There was an oil and generator. Yeah, the gas ran
out and they couldn't get to us to refill it.
So a feel good story, and Brady's going to bring

(07:23):
up your dead fish. But it's it's kind of relevant
because sometimes things have to die for new things to
to grow, you know. And oh, well, it sounds like
a career as an owner has come to an end.
It's it's it's doe, you know, It's like that. Yeah,
but what what an ROI he got in returned though,

(07:44):
so yeah, it's six point five billion. What have you
paid for it? Eight hundred million? Jeez? I keep telling
you all. It's why you have so many people who
are trying to be a part of this and and
here's the res and why. Like what RG three was
trying to be a part of this as a minority owner,

(08:04):
you know, or in this group, probably a limited partner.
But the reason is he's young, so there's a good
chance like whenever this ownership turns over, he's gonna have
at that point the option to get out. And at
that point he's gonna make a heck of a return

(08:25):
if you could be a part of it. Like that's
what I mean. You don't say you're not hoping for that.
That's the reason you get involved, though, But that money's
tied up. Like I've said before, if you get involved
in one of these ownership groups and you're not the guy,
you're not the majority owner, you got tag along and
drag along rights. And that means you're just tagging along,
I mean, drug along with whatever the majority owner wants

(08:48):
to do. But if there's a changing ownership, that is
when it opens up the opportunity usually for you to
be able to get out, and that's when you could
cash out. So there's one part that you're hey, it's
great to be a part of this. I'm not gonna
see any money for a while, but it could end
up being a huge windfall later on. What do you
think the Cowboys would go for if Jerry Jones I'm done?

(09:09):
What do you think they go for ten? Ten? I
mean if he set that price, I don't I don't
know that people would bat an eye. I mean what
are the estimates now? People estimate it's worth like six
or seven billion. Yeah, I mean you put on the market,
I mean yeah, you could probably you could probably get that.
That's crazy, man, That's it's just it's wild to see.
And you mentioned the just the value for the Denver Broncos,

(09:32):
who have been by far and away the better of
the two organizations, and still what you know, a million,
a billion and a half shy of what Washington's going
to go for. So congratulations to Josh Harris and that
whole group. And there was some conflicting reports that the
Canadian uh we gave up trying to pronounce his name.
Yet with all the vows Steve air Apostle or whatever,

(09:54):
I have no idea whatever it is. But he's still
in contention. Yeah, that that guy, he's still in contention,
still in the running for this. So there's been some
conflicting reports, but either way, Dan Snyder is going to
make a ton of money on this. So so there's
that and he takes it all the way back to
his yacht. Be sure to catch live editions of Two
Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LaVar Errington,

(10:16):
and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. So
Odell Beckham Junior was introduced to the media in Baltimore yesterday,
and of course, you know, everybody wants to know about
Lamar Jackson and it does this mean Lamar Jackson's going
to return to Baltimore And so Odell Beckham Junior spoke

(10:38):
with the media and let's take a listen. Before you signed,
you didn't get any assurances from Lamar that you got
from a two points to Go this year, didn't get
any assurances for anything. You know, life's uncertain to me.
It just was excited about the possibility of that. You know,
my thoughts would be that he would be here. I
know that these two want them to be here. You know,
at the end of the day, that's that's going to

(10:59):
be up to the Obviously, I would assume that it's
going to work out, you know. I have that that
faith and that hope, Lamar, I know if you're watching,
you know, you know, I would love to love to
get to work with you. I'll talk to these guys
over here and uh, you know, hopefully that gets done. Yeah,
I'm sure sure they didn't talk at all where they

(11:20):
were partying in Miami. Uh, you know him signing in Baltimore. Sure, yeah,
but you know what that conversation, you know how that
conversation goes. Odell's like, hey man, you know, do what
you gotta do, get whatever money you can. Like, he's
not gonna say something to Lamar that he wouldn't be
exercising himself right now, right like he's he took the

(11:44):
contract that he took because no one else was coming
close to that number for with his injuries and the
amount of games that he's played and given his age
and all that, no one else was gonna pay O
b J fifteen million guaranteed. That's why he took this opportunity.
It was about the money, it was about the contract.
So you know, he's not gonna tell Lamar Jackson not

(12:07):
to do that, like, hey, yeah, come play with me
for a discount now, like I came here under a
you know, playing for a premium, but I want you
to play like players don't say that to one another.
I mean, LaVar, am I wrong in that? No, you're
absolutely spot on. You know. The one thing I found
to be kind of interesting was he said, these two
guys here want you here, and so he was towing

(12:29):
his new company line. Yeah, he was definitely towing it.
So but he did jump on it very quickly and say, look,
he's got to do what he's got to do. And
he doesn't know. But you know, for him to say,
you know, mentioned that two guys in the organization want
him there, I mean, you you tell me Q that.

(12:52):
I don't know that that's necessary because that can be dissected,
Like if you ask me if i'm the Baltimore media,
I grew im on too, and it's like, uh, they're
really trying to get Lamar Jackson signed, and OBJ confirmed
it they want him here. If further, it could further
push the narrative towards why is Lamar Jackson the one

(13:14):
that's not being signable versus why isn't the Baltimore Ravens
signing Lamar Jackson? Right possible? I mean that's how I
look at it. No, yeah, I mean again, ob J
is the one we definitively know it's to be playing
this year for the Ravens. True, we know that more
so than we know Lamar, and you would expect OBJ

(13:35):
is going to say all the right things, do all
the right things, because you know this is his opportunity to,
you know, maybe sign after this year an extension with
a team if things go well and they're that team
that's invested in him and they want to build off
of that, whether it's with Lamar Jackson or Tyler Huntley
or whatever other quarterback. So it's it's, look, I don't
know where Lamar thinks he's going to go from here.

(13:58):
He's in a tough spot. He's got a hope that
there's some teams in the draft that don't take a quarterback,
and then one two may have a discussion and been
put in a potential offer to either see if the
Ravens will match that and it can eclipse what they've
already offered, or he's got to play this thing out
and he's just got to play, you know, for a

(14:18):
thirty sum million under the franchise tag, which you know
it can. It's hard to sit there and say you're
not going to show up and do that. You know,
they've got a new offensive coordinator. He needs to be there,
like this isn't even so much for like his his
own well being. But I think, you know, with the Ravens,
but any other team, like if he wants to show

(14:39):
and prove his value in the league, he has to
do more than and say just keep saying, well, I
was an MVP, like okay, but this is a what
have you done for me lately? League? And if you
can't like showcase the fact that yeah, I've got Obj,
we've got Aguilar, we've got Bateman, and now I've been
able to expand on my game. I mean, Big Ben

(14:59):
said what yesterday that teams aren't worried about his accuracy,
and those are his words. I don't know that to
be true so much. I do know when you look
at some of the throw charts, the way they break
down the passing, it was concentrated to certain areas of
the field, and I think if he grows in that
portion of his game, he's going to have a lot
to negotiate with Baltimore anyone else for that matter. But

(15:21):
he's got to be able to get down a new
system with Todd Munkin, and that's hard to do in
one offseason, and especially with unpotential new number one wide
receiver you're trying to develop chemistry with. So I you know,
he could wait so after the draft to decide kind
of how he wants to play this thing out, But
I just don't know that there's gonna be much there
for them outside of what the current situation is playing
under the tag. Let me ask you as this, wouldn't

(15:43):
it make more sense if you were a team and
you're looking at Lamar Jackson, and you are legitimately interested
in Lamar Jackson, and you know that the potential is
you're going to have to give up two first round
picks if Baltimore doesn't match the offer. Wouldn't it make
more sense for you as an organization to offer that
deal after the draft so you didn't have to give
up this year's one. I'm glad you brought that up

(16:04):
as a question. Good. You could tackle that, won't you. Yeah?
The problem is as an organization, you know, how do
you go about, you know, saying hey, we weren't interested,
now we're interested. Are you just saying, well, we didn't
get the guy we wanted the draft or the draft
didn't work out the way we want, and now we're interested,
you know, And even with the two first round picks
or two future first round picks, there's also the thought

(16:26):
that you've got to provide an offer that at least
eclips what we know. And that's what you know Lamars
made public and that's one hundred three thirty three million,
fully guaranteed at signing, and then I guess with what
Albert Brier put together, you know, there was two more
years on that that get it closer to one hundred
and seventy five two hundred million, whatever it is. Yeah,
you have to be an organization that's willing to do that,

(16:48):
willing to give up two future first round picks, and
on top of that, you know, have a dramatic change
in your scheme, which I've said and I'll continue to say,
Atlanta is the one team that when you looked at
what they were doing offensively last year. It wouldn't be
that big of a pivot from what they were doing.
And it still makes the most sense to me of

(17:10):
any of the teams. And we could say, well, hey,
Arthur Blank might not want to give away a bunch
of guarantee money. He did that with Matt Ryan towards
the end it didn't really work out quite as well.
But you can also make the case that, well, Arthur
Blank has already done that before, so he might be
more likely to do it for who he believes to
be a franchise quarterback. Again, but outside of Atlanta, I
just I'm not sure who else is gonna be a

(17:31):
bid or unless you know, the Colts don't get the
guy they want, even though they've said a number of
times publicly they don't. Las Vegas has Jimmy g So
what are they going to stack Lamar and Jimmy Gee
if they wouldn't didn't go with one. You know, Seattle
has Gino, and there's just you go through all the
scenarios and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Washington's probably the other one that could make some sense.

(17:53):
Maybe Tampa. I mean, you could look at some other
teams that you know, they might need a quarterback to
fall to them, and that could make some sense. I
just I don't see it. I think Baltimore is the
best place for him moving forward. Atlanta is the second best.
I would say a non Baltimore team. Atlanta makes the
most sense also because and we mentioned this, you know
this week, what's the plan at quarterback there? Are you

(18:16):
just gonna go at Desmond Ritter and Taylor Heineke and
just say, all right, here we go, like, let's let's
roll with this. They've got weapons there. I mean, there's
talent around the quarterback position like that. Atlanta feels like
the team that would be the no brainer. Yet there's
been nothing, and they've been telling everybody that you know,
we're not interested. We have a plan, and they're going
to be the odd man out if they're not moving

(18:37):
up to three or to two depending on you know,
some of the stories out of Houston and Arizona. I
just don't know how Atlanta rolls into next season and
expects to compete with Desmond Ritter and Taylor Heineke at
quarter I bet you that's what Lamar Jackson is and
his camp are banking on hoping for is that something

(18:58):
shakes in the draft that causes somebody who has had
moderate to maybe lukewarm to warm interest in the Lamar
Jackson scenario makes it heat up. I think the draft
could have that impact. It could be a horrible it
could be a horrible measurement, it could be a horrible miss.

(19:19):
But in the end, it doesn't really hurt Lamar to
continue to wait, and he's waited this long. So I
think that that's probably what they're they're hoping for, is
that something happens in this draft that would lead somebody
to say, let's go get Lamar Jackson. Man, Like, let's
do it. That's when you have that those those competitive

(19:42):
juices flowing. We're gonna stick it to you. This is
gonna make our team better. We're gonna sell some jerseys,
We're gonna sell some tickets, We're gonna sell some excitement.
Some hope. There's the possibility that that could take place
in the draft. Yeah, yeah, I could. I mean with Washington,
I keep going back to this. You got a new

(20:03):
ownership group coming in, you got Ron Rivera, who's that
steady hand, and I know they don't want to hear this,
and I'm sure they've said, you know, inside internally and
maybe even and sleeked out publicly. They have a lot
of faith in samhow Caleb Williams is from the DC area,
He's going to be the number one overall pick and
next year's draft. I would not be shocked if when

(20:25):
the Josh Harris group takes over, they're saying to themselves, look,
let's just take this year to reset, get our feet
kind of dug in and what we want to do
moving forward. But let's be in a position where we
don't have to do much to go get that quarterback
because no one who's in the position to take Cayleb
Williams is trading out of that spot right like you're not.

(20:45):
And I don't think you're gonna find a team that's
number one overall that doesn't need a quarterback. So it's
to me, I look at it and to say it
sets up so well for the Washington Commandos or football
team whatever they end up becoming. I'm a Commanders now.
I just gotta tell you guys that, I mean, come on,
I'm not going to make fun of them. We had
a deal. Oh really, Yeah, I'm not once the sale

(21:09):
takes place, I'm not making fun of them anymore. Well,
I don't think it's taken place yet. I think they
just agreed to turn I know, and it may still
call them commandos at times, and it may not be official.
It may not be official to like training camp. So
I mean, for at least until August, can we hold
on to commandos? I mean I will go back and
forth in between commanders and commandos. Okay, Okay, that's that's

(21:34):
not saying that you guys have to follow my lead
on this. That's I'm just saying I have I have
a new, renewed hope for my former team. That's what
I'll say. That's good, you should. Yeah, there's some sentimental
there's a lot of sentimental value attached to it. I'm

(21:54):
just very selective with how I talk about it because
I don't like the owner. I don't like the curve
known him, so I generally choose to not really have
too much to say about it. Can I just ask
this question. You mentioned the scenario, Brady where Caleb Williams
is the guy at number one and maybe they just
do a reset year here, So does that mean that
Ron Rivera gets clipped and that Lincoln Riley's the next

(22:17):
head coach of the Washington Commandos next season. Enemy yeah,
I mean, yeah yeah, or Eric could slide up into that.
I don't know. I mean it sets up to be
one of that, one of those two potential situations if
he was right. God Ron Rivera probably thinks to himself,
finally got rid of Dan Snyder. Now we can get
things back on track. And then they put together a

(22:38):
two wind crap bag and he gets fired at the
end of this upcoming season. That's too bad, but you
know he'll be all right. At least Dan Snyder's gone.
Everybody's happy. Be sure to catch live editions of Two
Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LaVar Errington,

(23:00):
three time Manager of the Year at a three time
National Sports Writer of the Year. It's the Book of
Joe Podcast. Hey, this is Tom Verducci from Fox Sports,
MLB Network and Sports Illustrated, and I'm Joe Madden, and
we're going to be around to talk a little bit
about manage real decisions. Playoff games and what may have
accorded to the dugout maybe in the nineteen eighties. I
can't wait for this, Joe. We're going to dive into

(23:22):
what goes on in the dugout and behind the scenes
in Major League Baseball, cars, wind, whatever else we want
to talk about. Listen to the Book of Joe podcast
on the iHeartRadio app, on Apple Podcasts, or wherever you
get your podcasts. If you've been listening to this show,
you know, a couple of days ago, I believe it
was two days ago, Brady Quinn hinted at a potential

(23:42):
surprise not only near the top of the draft, but
also after the draft, and I thought it was the
Atlanta Falcons that he was referring to. That apparently this
is a team who looks like they need a quarterback
but might go in the opposite direction. And now, all
of a sudden, it's starting to make some sense. We
had a conversation with Albert Brewery yesterday and other reports

(24:05):
are starting to becoming more and more evident that we
could be seeing some changes in Houston when it comes
to the Houston Texans picking number two overall, and that
Nick Cassario, the general manager could be out after the
draft and potentially heading back to New England. And then
you've got the forty nine ers assistant GM who could

(24:26):
be taking over in Houston. So we've got massive changes
that could be taken place, and it involves a Houston Texans,
which also, by the way, the will Anderson being a
real possibility at two for Houston is picking up steam
as well too. How about Brady Quinn trying to hint
it that earlier in the week and then it drops
a couple of days later. Look at you, this is

(24:46):
some Game of Thrones type ish going on, right, Like
you have Damiko Ryans who comes in as the head coach.
The Texans were kind of a pretty bad spot when
when he accepted the job, and in order to get
reassurances when you're a first time head coach, to make
sure that you go in and you have everything you
need to be successful. You want power. It's not just

(25:09):
about the contract. You want to have power, power over
the roster, power over certain decisions. And I think when
Demiko Ryan's got there, he probably wanted to exercise some
of the power in regards to the draft and how
he sees things. And I would not be shocked at
all if Demiko Ryan's didn't look at the success that

(25:30):
they've had in San Francisco and say, this was largely
built based off our defense and being able to create
stability for our team and load up with some really
talented players and you know, we don't necessarily have to
have a quarterback who I believe they've stayed he's stated
has to be the savior. Now. The only problem with that,

(25:51):
that whole logic in theory is they haven't won a
Super Bowl. So they've had a lot of success in
San Francisco, but they haven't won a Super Bowl. That
philosophy at least what he was a part of the
forty nine ers. So the hard thing is is he's
going to go in there, but he's working with a
guy who's a general manager that you know he might
know and be familiar with, but he does have a

(26:13):
working relationship with. Who does he have a working relationship with?
Adam Peters. Adam Peters is one of the best in
the NFL as far as a talent evaluator and a scout.
He was with the Denver Broncos, where you know, I
believe him and John Lynch had somewhat of a relationships.
So as soon as John Lynch went up to the

(26:35):
forty nine ers to take over as their general manager,
who do you think he tabbed was one of the
first people he wanted to bring in, Adam Peters. So
Adam Peters is now up in San Francisco. But there's
no doubt at all. I would imagine he wants a
general manager job, and he's got a good working relationship
with Demiko Ryans. So this whole scenario could play out

(26:55):
where you see Demko maybe take who he wants at two,
or they trade back out of that spot for another
team that wants a quarterback at number two, and then
they try to go after either a quarterback with that
second pick, or they just take the best player available
and they move forward with this sort of game plan
I guess, you know, and then Cassario moves on and

(27:18):
Peters moves in. It's not impossible to happen. This is
this is very, very, very much how things work, especially
when it comes to the front office before and after
the draft. To cut throat man well, Ned's stark. He
had his eye on just being the hand of the king,
but then Ned was tragically removed, and then everything, oh hell,

(27:43):
broke loose. And then now you have Joffrey sitting there
and he's running amuck, and you're looking at John's now
he's been sent to the wall. And now we're looking
at the Dragons and Colisi. They haven't been berthed yet,
but it's close. Kyle Drago has laid steak and laid

(28:04):
claim to being part of what may take place in
terms of them taking over the games of Throne, the
Iron Throne, And that's what's going on in Houston right now.
So you're telling me that Demiko Ryan's has got Nick
Sario's head on a spike outside the castle. Is that

(28:26):
what's happening here for everybody to see? Jeez, that's exactly yet.
Thank you for summing it up for me, because that's
exactly what Joffrey was doing. He was putting heads on
spikes before before they poisoned him and got him up
at it here. But a little finger was conspiring. Now
I don't know who the little finger is in this scenario.
Probably Okay, oh whoa, oh oh god, I'm just gonna

(28:49):
stop there. No, I'm not that's interruption. You take it
into direction. You said it go ya, how do you
want to start that? All right? Yeah? There was Ye, yes,
I do. How do you want to interpret that little finger? Yeah?
Burn Burno, I do remember those? Yes, yeah they were.
That was Burno's highlight for the show. They were the dogpiles. Yeah,

(29:13):
that was that was his highlight from the show. Calisi
by the way, man oh Man, Yeah, yeah, she was
the mother of dragons. I'll tell you that lucky dragons.
She could take that uh fire really well. Didn't get burnt. Yeah,
what a great show that I loved it. You know,

(29:35):
why if if you feel like you're going to make
a change at GM, why would you do it after
the draft? Like any of the work that's been done
on the draft and the prospects is pretty much done
at this point, you know. Now it's just about the
decision maker is finalizing how they think and what they
want the draft board to be in different potential decisions,

(29:58):
and then coming up the value. If there's trade scenarios
and all that, Right, you're you're kind of mocking those
things up, you know. I remember talking to Rick Spieling
about this about a month ago, and he said, we
would have all our guys look at mock drafts, and
I kind of laughed. I was like, well, why would
you pay attention to what guys who don't have the
type of access to health information and mental evaluations and

(30:20):
the interviews and workouts. Why would you care what they think?
He goes, Oh, no, we don't care what they think.
We wanted to see different scenarios play out. He goes,
So sometimes you get these wild scenarios that were like,
this isn't even possible, but it's a good exercise to
go through it to see how we would react, what
would be our response to it. So you know, most

(30:43):
of the evaluations are done. It's really just about getting
a sense for who you're going to take in those
spots and then playing out different scenarios. And so you'll
see a lot of times turnover in front offices around
this time or after the draft, and so you allow
those scouts and other folks involved to potentially land somewhere
else for another opportunity. Nick Cassario was doomed the second

(31:05):
he got there, because it was right after he got
there that the Deshaun Watson stuff fell apart and he
demanded a trade, and they just never were able to
find footing, and he was the guy that had to,
you know, basically face the media and explain that the decision.
Were they going to trade Deshaun Watson? Were they not
going to trade him? Try and convince him. The multiple
head coaches like, if you're Nick Cassario, you gotta be

(31:26):
happy to get the hell out of there, right at
least go back to New England, some place you're familiar with,
and just get away from the disaster that the Houston
Texans is. I mean that that team is a mess.
So if you're Cassario, hey, listen, your head's on a
spike outside the case. He is he going back to
another game of Thrones? Yea, if he goes back to

(31:50):
one of the other houses, one of the other families,
it ain't clean over there either. Yeah, but in comparison
to Houston, I mean, look, the Commandos look almost clean
in comparison to Houston over the past several years. And
just when Cassario got there, having to have the Deshaun
Watson issue just fall on his lap and he's the

(32:11):
guy who's got to figure out how to move on
from him and try and get enough compensation and everything
from there, it just felt like he never had a
real opportunity in Houston. So I'm sure he's probably happy
to be killed off in this episode so he can
go back to hang out with Bill Belichick, you know,
get the old band back together there in New England.
So yeah, so there is That is your update on

(32:31):
the Houston Texans and that whole little thing him. Also,
you remember Doug Whaley when he was the GM and
Buffalo and they fired him right after the draft and
he still hung out in Buffalo and was having beers
at like the Anchor Bar afterwards. Do you think Nick
Cassario is going to sit around Houston and have a
couple of cocktails after he gets clipped the Monday after

(32:52):
the draft, or do you think he just goes straight
back to New England and hangs out with Brady's in
laws throws back a couple of pints of Sam Adams
back there. What do you think his plan is after
he gets gets taken out by Demiko Ryans and everybody
in Houston? What do you think is next movie? I mean,
I don't know. I'll be honest with you. I don't
really carry you there. Okay, he could do whatever he
wants at that point. Please find an opportunity to be

(33:15):
gainfully employed again if they're moving on in that capacity.
And maybe a scenario where he just decides to move
on to his own Demiico doesn't clip him or then
fire him, and then it creates the vacancy for for
Adam Peters to move into that spot. Yeah, but how
about have at me dropping Doug Whaley knowledge on you
right there? Just throw that right in your lap here
on a Friday morning. Well, there's a lot of other

(33:36):
things you threw in there that I was a little
not really sure what the hell is going on. That's
all right, it happens from time to time. Take that
little finger. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
