Speaker 1 (01:29):
The lighting lighting's a little different in here today. It
feels a little.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
It feels like like we're in a studio. Yeah, we're
about to we're about to knock it down, and.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Little does anybody know inside the studio that it is
dumping outside.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
We're getting bro. If it was one day to not
get in your car and come to this studio, it
was this morning.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
I saw two accidents on the way in car we trust.
Truck behind me went into the center divider like literally
twenty five feet behind.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Him because people drive like it's not wet. Yeah, like stop, Like,
can I give you a bit of advice out here?
If it's wet outside. Drive like it's wet outside there.
That's like, that's it. Don't drive like it's bone dry
on the road. It's wet. Drive like it's wet. Yeah,
(02:19):
cat's out there driving like one hundred miles an hour? Like,
why are you driving that fast? Is it really that serious? Yeah,
it was, it's rough out there.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
But I mean that's why we always say slow down
if it's your tires, if there's an issue with that.

(03:12):
how about that to day to day Yeah, yeah, a
lot of blowtorches out.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
There and has.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
So so the Aaron Rodgers experience early with the New
York Jets has really I don't know if a lot
of people expected Aaron Rodgers, who came from Green Bay
and grew up in a small town in northern California,
to really take in the sights and sounds of the
big city. But he's at, you know, every Knicks playoff game, seemingly.
(03:40):
He's at the Rangers games, you know, when they were
still actually in the playoffs. He's, you know, just making
his roundabout, just doing interviews with Pat McAfee, hanging out
with teammates. Well, now you've got teammates with the New
York Jets that are talking about and we spoke yesterday
about one of his new teammates, Randall Cobb, brand new
signe with the New York Jets, and he's gonna be
(04:02):
there with the Jets. Is Brady Quinn tried to tell
everybody about weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
I thought that was me? Was it you? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (04:07):
It was me?
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Could have been. I think Brady stole it from me,
he said it.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
After Yeah, I think I stole it from you three months.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
I think I think it was three months ago that
he stole. Three months and one day to be exact,
that he stole it from me sounds about right. Yeah,
all right, he's he does it every once in a while. Man,
sound like he really knows what he's talking about, you
know what I mean, it's all right, just reading off
our notes. I just let him have it. Yeah, so
you know, I think it wasn't our notes. In fact, the.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Only time I ever steal from Brady is when I
make a bad bet. It's usually because I got bad advice.
See That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
The only time, like, yeah, only time you know that
it came from Brady if I got it wrong.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
So that's why I can't be held accountable. Yeah, bad picture.
Speaker 5 (04:46):
I just try to encourage you guys betting. I never
I never give unsolicited advice. So I'm usually out there
being like, hey, guys, yeah, do that.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
That sounds like a great bet. Coach, Jonas you do that, You.
Speaker 5 (04:59):
Put put that money down that beat, buddy, Yeah, that's
that's that's It's just encouragement, that's all it is.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yeah, Well, we appreciate it. Sometimes I need that little push,
I need that little that a little extra nut trust point.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
Then then you fall off a cliff.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
Yeah, that that is that is true. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
I feel great about my life right now after hearing that.
But Quincy Williams is one of the teammates, brand new
teammates of Aaron Rodgers to quit about.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
I mean, wait, there's only one Q. Yeah, all right,
we'll call him Quinn. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Talking about teaming up with Aaron Rodgers and what it's like,
what it's been like there with the Jets and seeing
him at off season workouts, et cetera, et cetera.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Here was the Jets defensive lineman.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
I ain't gonna lie to y'all.
Speaker 6 (05:41):
Was kind of star struggle at first because it's like
we warm up right next to each other. So it's
just like I was like, hold on, coach, let me
just take a little bit and take this end watch
a few throws a little bit and seeing them in
the green. So just took that in a little bit.
It's like, all right, now, let's.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Get the work so that he starts his entire career
in green. I'm just saying, I.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Mean, that is that a shot at Zack Wilson for
not being able to hit it in the green? Do
you think is that? Is that where that's going? Quincy
Williams taking a shot there at Zack Wilson is.
Speaker 5 (06:12):
No, come on, dude, Like Rogers is a four time
MVP and won a Super Bowl. Like these kids have
grown up their entire life playing football and they've looked,
they've they've like watched the Packers and it's been Aaron Rodgers.
That's all they know. Yeah, I mean, it's it's more
I think that is if you think about it. I mean,
he's played long enough now where I mean, I guess
(06:34):
technically it could be some of these guys daddies. Yeah,
he's that he's played that long in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
It's been a long ass time as someone's daddy. Eighteen
years and yeah, I mean it's two thousand and five,
eighteen years of the Packers. Now he's in New York
jet When does this whole media circus and Rogers watch
and everybody find When does that get old for him?
When he just finally says, all right, this is a
(07:01):
bit much like this is enough. Is there a place
he can hide out in New York? You guys played there.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
I don't think it's about getting old. I think he's
even said he's showed up at the beginning of this.
He's gonna be there to set the tone. He will
probably not be there for the second half of this,
you know, phase there's phase one, phase two of the
off season program. I would imagine that he'll come back
when they do some some OTAs and mini camp, but
he's not going to stick around for the entirety of it,
(07:28):
you know. I think he comes around, does what the
organization is hoping he's going to do. He does what
he wants to do to feel like he's comfortable and confident,
you know, going through the spring and summer and making
sure he's ready for training camp.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Like, I think that's how this is going to go.
Speaker 5 (07:43):
So he's there now, but like in a couple of weeks, like, yeah,
I don't, I don't know he's going to be around
as much.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
I just told that these guys, these Jets teammates, understand
what they're getting into.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
All right, Well, so.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Let me explain this because I have intimate knowledge and
firsthand experience of this. There we go when you work
and are surrounded by fame and people that are very famous,
and I'm around it every single morning, being around Brady
Quinn LeVar Arrington. When you go out with Brady Quinn
LeVar Arrington, there is a circus that comes along with it.
(08:16):
Case in point, Breeders Cup there with Brady Quinn walking
around at multiple times was I asked to hold a
camera so I could take a picture of Brady Quinn
and some fanboy who thinks that him and Brady are
buddies because they happen to be in the same golf
clubhouse called the Nineteenth Hole somewhere in South Florida talking
(08:36):
about college football.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
So there's that, and.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Then what also comes along with it is that they're
not going to know who the hell you are, like
case in point, meeting friends of Brady Quinn who are
in the restaurant industry who at the end of it
thought that I was his producer.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Like, they're not going to know that.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
And then when you go out with LeVar and you're
hanging out, you know, downstairs at the hotel bar and
just kind of having a cocktail at Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
Week, no one knows who you are like you are,
and in fact, they'll tell you do not bring your
food in here. And eat it because you are not allowed.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
See.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
But the problem is when I got there. When I
got there, they said, hey, LeVar A, your drivers here,
and I said, hold on a second. We worked together,
we're on the same show. But these guys have to
understand this is what comes along with attaching yourself to
somebody who's significantly more famous.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Which if they're if my driver was there, it was
my driver that I ordered the car. So it's not
like that. Yeah, I mean, it's not like I'm a
big deal that Fox Sports Radio had a car come
get me and they didn't have one come get you.
You know, I get my own car.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
They don't know who the hell I am. They know
who you are. That's the moral of the story. That's
not true. And this is what these guys are gonna
have to deal with. So if they want to.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Go, I mean, you're right, your point is correct, but
you just it was misguided on you trying to use
me as an example.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
You're just saying these are the sorts of things that
they're going to have to discover.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Yeah, there's some pitfalls. There's some pitfalls. This is what comes.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Along with it. They're just gonna have to discover this.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yeah, they're gonna have to, you know, figure this whole
thing out, and they're gonna have to discover the entire
thing entirely. And speaking of which, we are brought to
you by Discovering. At the end of your first year,
Discover credit cards automatically double all the cash back you've earned.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
That's right, everything you earn doubled.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Seriously see terms and check it out for yourself at
discover dot com, forward slash Discover.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
Alee we got it in bud, Yeah, we got it.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Thanks you guys, No worries. Lee, Coop is up, Lee
is down. Hey, Coop be taking its time getting up
to Lee be sitting there pacing back and forth. Leg
because he's a movie star. He's gonna get back. That's
just going to.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Get I thought it was the Weed's.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Oh geez, wow wow Burto is that? Can you confirm
that Burdo?
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Is that also part of the demeanor and what comes
along with Coop?
Speaker 3 (10:48):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (10:48):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Yeah, I mean geez, we just opened three Huh, It's okay,
just wide open.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
In twenty twenty, Brian day Ball could vape at the
at the draft.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
I mean, cats do be vapor. He did have his
hand over that vape and it's so funny how they
put their hands over it. It's like everybody does it
the same exact way, like you cover it with your
hands so nobody could see it. But you know that
that's the vape, that's the vape hand, so there's no
reason to do it. You might as well just vape.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
It, you know, a performance enhancing elements to it, right
to the vape. They must be thinking it like helps them,
you know in that way.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
I don't know, doesn't gust Johnson vape Like there's videos.
I don't get involved in the types of conversations. I
don't even know what you're talking about. Okay, I don't know.
Let's there was a video that came.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
Have you ever watched a movie LeVar? I never thought
about like that guy would be Jonas in the movie.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Yeah, yeah, a few times.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
I was watching.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
Uh the other day, no, no, no, trust her not
he wouldn't be Bohets, but I was holding and.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
Uh, I think it was. You know, they're talking about
this rat this rat to.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Rat On who there was a video of him calling
a basketball game like it went viral.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
Yeah, well I'm looking at it right now. Here comes
Lee to the rescue the problem Jonas, and he sounded
like Dan Patrick from from the right before the draft.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Is Jonas's chair. That's how that works.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Yelp. I'm looking at it right now, Jonas looking at Johnson,
look at it. I mean, I don't know. Johnson just
happened to be kind of funny that.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
You say this red.
Speaker 7 (12:40):
Going.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
This is like everybody knows this, and you know, car
pulls up. You know, there's a there's a who's.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Who else do you want to call out? Jonas? God,
let me think about it. Who else? Vabes?
Speaker 1 (12:58):
I mean Sean mcvabe aped at the Super Bowl parade.
Everybody knows that. I mean, you guys racking. There's no
connective tissue there. You know, you know what you talk man,
They practice on thousand ocause I live in thousands.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
No connective tissue there. Okay, never even met Sean. I
got your connective tissue right here. How's that? Whoa too?
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Pros cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio and that.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
We might have to send that clip to hr Man.
That was that was that was a little aggressive there, Jonas.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
By the way, we've got the usuals coming up later on.
We get another edition of Incasion missed right now, going
to have.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
To stay home. I going to have to stay home now.
It worked, It worked. We got him, We've got you
in you out.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Coming up later on, We've also got Albert Breer is
gonna stop by. Apparently he uh pissed off somebody who
was drafted by the Cleveland Brown So that'll be a
fun topic of conversation with Albert Breer. All of it
is yours until nine am Eastern time, six o'clock Pacific.
But coming up next though, there is somebody in the
NFL who's calling it like he sees it, and it's
whether or not he's his team and his future with
(14:04):
that team are up in the air.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
We'll get into that for you right here. Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Come on, var all right, I gotta ask you a question. So,
like growing up, you'll see actors and actresses or whatever.
I don't even know if it's appropriate to say actress anymore.
And where the world anyways, late actress? I don't know.
Isn't that like, isn't that like demeaning towards women? Now?
(14:45):
I don't believe.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
So there's a lot at worst things you can say
actressesn't bad, all right, not to derail what I'm saying,
but like, did you grow up like seeing certain act
actresses that you were like they're not good looking at all?
But then you got older and you're like, wait, what
is she?
Speaker 4 (15:06):
Like?
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Is she sexy? Like am I And I'm having a
moment watching Sigourney Weave and I listen and I was watching.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
She Yeah, it was and always will be what not
good looking? No?
Speaker 3 (15:21):
The other I think she's she's sexy, right, Yeah, yeah,
I didn't know that growing up. I like thought she
was like not. I don't know why, like and Ale
why either? It kind of I was like growing I
was like ah nah, like yeah like Sigourney Weaver. Like, well,
then I got a little older and I was like, wait,
Sigourney Weaver, isn't she in the Abyss? She's kind of
(15:41):
she's fly who was in? Why am I confusing Sigourney movie?
She wasn't in the Abyss? I think she was she was. Yeah,
I think she was the most positive she was. That's
a good movie too, by the way. And then and
then the other I was watching Conan the other day
and and Grace Jones, and I'm like, growing up, I
was like, man, Grace Jones, like she looks like a
man like gosh, like she looks hard like ah right,
(16:03):
see that might be offensive, right, well, I mean growing
up I was. This was like, I'm like growing up, like,
this is the eighties. She wasn't in the abyss. Oh
she wasn't.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
I got bad information from Lee. I don't know what
to tell you. Yeah, you never thought, for anything in
your life, tell you something.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
She should have been, all right, So that's that's not
my fault. That's her, but socia Grace Jones, Grace Jones
should have been.
Speaker 7 (16:27):
Ed Harris slapping the hell out of Mary Elizabeth mess.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
Masterson. Yes, that's who I confused it with. Yeah, by
the way, her as well, her as well, Linda Carter.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
I don't what wonder woman, Yeah, yeah, I mean what
but she was always I always saw her as that.
But I don't know, like Grace Jones, I think it's
drop dig gorgeous, like two days like today, like I
look at her, I was like, how stunningly beauty is
Grace Jones. Yeah, But when I was growing up, I
(17:03):
was like, ew, I don't know why.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Yeah, I just I think when the older you get
and listen, we try and point this out all the
time on two Pros and a Cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio. The older you get, but the
more you realize that old artificial thing of Hollywood is
just not the.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Most not the most idea in the world. No, and
you could get you can get injured if you mess
around with the artificial in Hollywood too, just like you
could get injured on artificial turf ol football fields. You
know about thirty two percent in fact, more non contact
knee injuries. American grass sea company Pennington, Yeah, they're on
(17:44):
a mission to ban turf fields with their hashtag flip
the Turf movement. So go to Pennington dot com slash
flip the Turf now right now to learn more and
sign the petition for teams to hashtag flipped the turf
to real grass.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
I'm about the way to embrace, just way to embrace
to you know, just a transition there.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
With Yeah, there's a lot going on there. I know,
but I just continue to look at Sigourney Weaver on
our on our TV, and I'm like, man.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
She's embraced her age. She has some others out there.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Yes, absolutely, I mean, you know, she got done up
in uh An Avatar and then she ended up having
like that. Didn't she have like a kid in Avatar?
Wasn't there kid Avatar?
Speaker 1 (18:34):
She might have had a cousin in that movie though
maybe she was a blue person. Speaking of cousins, Kirk Cousins,
Oh yeah, that's I saw what.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
King I was. I was going to trouble. I'm getting
in trouble. He was getting us out of there.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
He was talking yesterday about his currentcy. What he was
saying was you know that that outfits good Jennifer. But
he was talking, yes.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
You're gonna keep going, but but you're gonna get me
out of there.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Was Stocking yesterday about his status with the Minnesota Vikings
as they head into a year which feels like it
could be his final year in Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
You know what Vikings used to do, right, Yeah, Okay,
go ahead, take a listen.
Speaker 8 (19:13):
This is my fourth time in this league going into
a season with free agency on the Horizon my fourth
year for my rookie contract, to two years in Washington
after that, and now this. So I would just say
that to say it's more the norm than the exception.
You know, I think the exception is that you have
something penciled in for future ys. Most of our locker
room has no idea what's coming in three or four months,
(19:35):
let alone three or four years or next year. So
I feel like I'm one of the guys, if you will,
like we're all in this together, and that's the way
this league works.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Be one of the guys.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
He's made over two hundred million dollars, but forget all that,
one of the guys entering his final year of his
deal for as you mentioned, the fourth time in his
NFL career. And I don't know, man, it just it
feels like in Minnesota, he's always the the fall guy.
To go back to the Chris Carter quote. He seems
like he's always the guy that they're trying to or
(20:05):
at least trying to push out, or that there's a
feeling that, yeah, but it's Kirk Cousins, And I just
I've never looked at him as being that bad of
an NFL quarterback, and that bat.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Has not been that great of one. I mean, I
mean he's.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
Two hundred million dollars or fit one.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
Well, I mean i'll take I'll take the money to
price tag on it. But I mean, how far has
he gotten into the playoffs?
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Well, it's not even that.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
It's he's only won one game the playoffs, which again,
I know we're all going to take quarterback stats and
we're going to apply it to quarterback wins, but to me,
I don't see it quite as much in that regard.
He's a really good quarterback, he really is, and I
think he's you know, he's given his team a chance
to get into the playoffs. I don't know that we've
(20:54):
ever looked at the Vikings during the period of time
that he's been there though, and ever seriously considered them
as a super contender.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
Have we? No?
Speaker 5 (21:02):
I mean, I think that's the greater issue with with
how he's viewed is at no point in time have
we looked at the roster like right now, if I
said the Philadelphia Eagles roster to you guys.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Yes exactly, well yes, and that's.
Speaker 5 (21:18):
And this isn't a slate or to take away from
what Jalen Hurts was able to do last season. But
you look at that roster and you go, that's one
of the best rosters there is.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
Like, we look at the San Francisco.
Speaker 5 (21:27):
Forty nine ers, We don't even know what their quarterback
situation is, what are their Super Bowls?
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Jonas their top two or three, and like.
Speaker 5 (21:36):
Literally they have the most unstable quarterback situation, not knowing
what to that what Trey Lance brock perty might not
be back, Jimmy G's no longer there, they signed Sam Garnold,
and yet we still look at them as a super
Bowl contender. You know, I don't know that we've ever
looked at the Minnesota Vikings as that.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
Now. They've had some.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
Really good players, but since Cousin has got there, their
defense's dwindled and dropped off a cliff Last year they
were horrendous was her pass defense.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
And you just kind of look at it and go, okay,
like they're a really good team.
Speaker 5 (22:08):
They can compete for a playoff spot, and then it's
kind of like, okay, and unfortunately he gets lumped into that.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
I think you put Kirk Cousins in San Francisco forty nine.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
Ers, that might be a different conversation.
Speaker 5 (22:22):
You probably having a different conversation about him about that
the Philadelphia Eagles. Like that's one of the odd things
to me is he's only got one win. It was
a win on the road versus New Orleans, and he
played his tailoff. He did everything he needed to do
to put his steam in a position to win that game.
If you go back, I mean, I'm not so sure.
I have to kind of come back through some of
(22:42):
the other games he's played.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
He hasn't played that bad.
Speaker 5 (22:45):
It's just, you know, I think there's a thought that
if you don't have a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes, you
can't win a Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
And I would argue this, I think your quarterback helps
get you to.
Speaker 5 (22:57):
The playoffs, but once you get the playoffs, you've got
to have the team around you that's capable of helping
to make a run. There's just there's too many moving
parts between the type of defense. You need to have
a balance in a running game, you know, playmaking wide
receivers along with that quarterback. And I think that's what
you see more than anything else, Like you see teams
(23:19):
that are that are loaded up where the quarterbacks that
gets to the playoffs. But once you get to the playoffs,
and that's the rest of the team that's going to.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
Help you win that Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
I mean, I think when you look at what Tom
Brady was able to do early on and get no
Super Bowls, it was defense. It was defense, It was
a powerful running attack, and there were a lot of
other elements. I mean, you look at Peyton Manning's Super
bowls both with Indy and with with Denvers, the same
(23:49):
is the same exact things you're talking about. I mean
when you when you talk to the last one, when
you talk about Brady and Tampa, like when you look
at the New York Giants and Eli Manning winning his
Super Bowls, it was the defenses that dominated and in
the Super Bowl, and Eli made a couple of incredible plays,
some incredible.
Speaker 4 (24:08):
Highlight of it.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
Yeah, it was the defense, but the defense dominated. They
dominated in that game. The defensive front.
Speaker 4 (24:16):
Were incredible catches.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Yeh, miracle throw.
Speaker 5 (24:20):
Yeah, those balls were throwing spots of me and even
even the wind for the Patriots.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
To your point, you know, over Atlanta, if Edelman doesn't
make that catch, it's over. Yeah, Atlanta wins the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
Man you think about they changed the rules of how
you cover receivers because ty Law was taking Marvin Harrison
and sunning him, I mean putting his ass on the bench.
He was jamming him up so bad off that ball.
So I'm I'm with you there, I'm it probably is
(24:55):
unjust and unfair to judge Kirk Cousins based off of
what he's been able to do and as the quarterback
in the playoffs, I would I get that, But I
do still come back to the point of how many
franchise quarterbacks win Super Bowls and how many non what
we would consider fringe to non franchise quarterbacks win super Bowls.
(25:21):
Like if we start looking at that and breaking it down,
you know, in that comparison type of deal, I mean,
I'm going to sit there and I'm going to say
I am more likely to side with a quarterback that
I believe is a franchise quarterback and their ability to win.
For some strange reason, I continue to think that the
(25:44):
Chargers are going to turn into a Super Bowl contender.
I don't, and I just think it's because they have
a young stud franchise quarterback. There's no reason for me
to really, there's no real reason for me to think
that they're going to be anything more than what they
have been outside of the fact that I believe in
(26:04):
what their quarterback could possibly do moving forward.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
How many quarterbacks in the NFC are you for certain
you're sure you would take ahead of Kirk Cousins right now,
because I'm sure I would take positive. Jalen Hurts is
the only one I got. Dak Prescott is arguable. Matt Stafford,
Matt Stafford's got health consists.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
That's that's questionable. Like if you go through if you
go through the NFC, I mean, and they won, they
won their division last year. There was not like they
would chump change.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
They were thirteen and four.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Yeah, they had a good year last year.
Speaker 5 (26:39):
He's thrown for Think about this, He's thrown for over
four thousand yards seven of the last eight seasons, I
mean just obviously dates back to Washington, but like literally
besides twenty nineteen, which was a Pro Bowl quarterback then
he's he's thrown for over four thousand yards. He's got
at least a two touchdown to one of reception ratio.
(27:01):
In some years it's been you know, a bigger than
four to one, and last year in particular, I think
what stood out was he had four or excuse me,
eight game winning drives, Like of their thirteen wins, eight
of those fourth quarter comebacks, eight of those were game
winning drives that he was leading down the stretch.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
I mean, he was clutch as you could imagine.
Speaker 5 (27:23):
No one in the NFL was was as clutch as
Kirk Cousin was last year during the course of.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
The regular season. That's not opinion, it's just a fact.
Speaker 5 (27:32):
I don't know how else you described game winning drives
and him doing it eight times last season.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
So I think there's a lot of a lot of
him being undervalued.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
There's a lot of you know, looking at Minnesota and
if we looked at that defense, I mean, they were
awful last year.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
There's no other way of looking at it.
Speaker 5 (27:50):
Like when I look at the Vikings, you think, are like,
what's holding the back?
Speaker 4 (27:55):
They were second to last in the NFL, not.
Speaker 5 (28:00):
Not only in total yards, but like, I mean, their
past defense was the issue.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
They've obviously made a change there, but that's why Brian
Flores is there now.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
But I just kind of go back and go if
he's in a different situation circumstance, he's probably we're talking
about him a lot different and at least his chance
of winning a Super Bowl too.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Like would you say he's better than Jimmy Garoppolo, Yeah, I.
Speaker 5 (28:20):
Don't think that's That's not a slight on Jimmy, No,
but it's really not even that close.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
Yeah, And so I look at it and I go,
god it if he's playing with that defense, because you
can go back, I mean through just his playoff numbers
and against its stats. So there's different stories to be told.
But you go back and look at his numbers, You
go back and look at the playoff game against the
Giants last year. They lost to the Giants, not because
of Kirk Cousins. He actually had a good game. They
lost to the Giants because, to your point, the defense
(28:45):
was awful. They couldn't stop the run, they couldn't get
off the field, and Kirk Cousins did as much as
he possibly could to try and keep him in the game.
Like it just I mean, look at the game against
Indianapolis that we did. This is when LeVar decided he
was over f Saturday is being a head coach when
when Indianapolis had a thirty three to nothing lead the
(29:06):
way I mean, like that that game was a disaster.
So it's just interesting how for whatever reason, I don't
know if it's it's because Kirk Cousins is dorky because
he's not cool, Like it just feels like he gets
kind of pushed aside. Is oh no, you got to
replace him at some point, all right, Well, without Kirk
Cousins last year, that's a really bad football team in Minnesota.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
I think a lot of times you get overlooked as
a quarterback when your maybe greatest skill set is being
consistent and playing at a consistently high level. And so
you don't have the strongest arm, you're not the most athletic,
you're not.
Speaker 4 (29:41):
The biggest guy.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
You know, you're not the you know, flashiest with other
things and how you you know, present yourself. He's just
really really consistent and plays at a high level just
every week, like every week. I don't know how how
high is his ceiling is as compared to some of
the other people out there, but his floor as high
as hell. Like what you get from him every week
(30:02):
will help you win a game. And it's one of
the reasons why it's made over two undred million bucks
in his career. But it's another reason why. I think
you look at Minnesota, you say they're always gonna have
a shot at competing to win and getting in the playoffs.
But after that, my question is more like, well, what's
this team look like like? Is the online good enough
really to kind of dominate and take over a game
physically and win. Is the defense good enough to be
(30:24):
able to give them a shot and shut someone out?
Like I just I don't know. I mean, I'll tell
you what. That that home field advantage they've got is real.
The new stadium is fantastic. It's loud in there. I
just you know, they've got to get to the point
where they can control, you know, their path in the playoffs.
And maybe they're a sneaky team this year that we're
not you know, thinking about enough because outside of Philly,
(30:47):
which I think you say the NFC East is much
more competitive, yeah than the NFC North and outside of
San Francisco, which they obviously have quarterback questions. And you know,
I think you look at the Minnesota Vikings, you're like, well,
they would be the next team you look get and say, well,
what do you expect them to win the division? But
the Troy Lines right now, the team that's the betting favorite, right, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
Yeah, the lines are the favorite, followed by the.
Speaker 5 (31:09):
I think that's has to do it to their schedule
who they're playing, Not that it's that different from Minnesota, but.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
Their schedule is a heck of a lot easier.
Speaker 1 (31:17):

Speaker 3 (34:47):
We're not going to let this stand. Exactly what's spelled
this out for me?
Speaker 4 (34:55):
What exactly was happening?
Speaker 1 (34:57):
They went to Mexico to play an international and they
all got the run.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
Yeah, they all came with you. Who in the is
that a water thing?
Speaker 4 (35:07):
Is that?
Speaker 1 (35:07):
What that is, Mana Zuma is revenge, you know, they
tell you when you go there because the water, you know,
sometimes there's some bacteria in the water that not don't
drink the water, and also don't drink anything that's got
ice cubes in it.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
At the rest of exactly, I did that every time.
I drink their ice cubes every time. And that's why
you don't wear There's a lot of great places in
Mexico City. I've been there. These guys are I get

Shots out the beefies. By the way, ever had in

Speaker 1 (35:39):
How's that land though, Berta, this is the San Francisco
Giant calling out the motherland.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
How did you chill about that? Why do you keep
saying mother land?
Speaker 4 (35:44):
Man?
Speaker 3 (35:45):
You know, I'm sitting. That's where Berto and I are from.
I'll stop that man, that's right, Yeah, they are from Africa.
All of you. I've never seen so happy. He's like,
you got that right now? I know why? The first
time I've agreed with LaVar since he started the show.
(36:08):
You got it, LeVar? What else Fellows? In case you
missed this? Uh?
Speaker 7 (36:12):
John Robinson has revealed the number he's gonna wear in Atlanta.
He obviously wore number five at Texas, but he's gonna
be Donny number seven in Atlanta. He's taking the number
from Young ho Ku, who obviously has worn it since
more famously, Michael Vick is young?
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Isn't Young Waykup?
Speaker 4 (36:28):
Is it Young Waykup?
Speaker 3 (36:29):
Yeah? My fault called him young Hoku. He's thinking about something.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
Mouth, where did you get that produce?
Speaker 2 (36:39):
Well?
Speaker 10 (36:40):
I was, I was just reading it. Actually, have you finished?
If you finished it off with g it's all the
way live? I mean it is spelled that way, so
you just didn't know. I guess I forgot how to
pronounce his first name.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
Yeah. Hey, by the way, Young Waykup's a good kicker.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
He's been really good for Atlanta.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
What's wrong with you?
Speaker 6 (37:04):
Lee?
Speaker 3 (37:04):
I got it's not that young the world Hey young
ho young, Ho young Ho.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
Young.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
I mean it is spelled that way. My fault, oh
man Young? What what else?
Speaker 4 (37:25):
I said?
Speaker 11 (37:25):
She I'll put that one together in the podcast in
case you missing draftings.
Speaker 7 (37:37):
Has the odds up already for Ohio State Michigan in November?
Oh God, let's go Michigan favored by two and a
half points.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
Oh wow, that's it.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
By the way, last year, wasn't Ohio State like a
nine point favorite in the off season.
Speaker 3 (37:51):
It's a big thing that time has passed. Think about think.
Speaker 5 (37:55):
About the difference between Ohio State. Right now, they're breaking
a new quarterback. Comm Acord is going to be their quarterback.
Jaj McCarthy has already been on this team. Let him
do a big ten championship to a semi final. They've
got a lot of players coming back, Blake Korum the
running back as well behind him.
Speaker 4 (38:12):
I just todd Uh Edwards. I mean, it's just I don't.
I don't get it.
Speaker 5 (38:18):
You should, I would expect I've both thought three and
a half points, maybe four, based on how the past
couple of years have gone.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
God, I can't wait for college football. Me neither I
want that run back. It's Penn State year.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
