Speaker 4 (00:41):
Come on, Brady, Come on, Brady, little shambrock shuffle, Come on, come.
Speaker 5 (00:48):
On, Brady, what come on and sing this song with me? Brady.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
The dublin coffin Shimmy.
Speaker 6 (00:56):
Hey, shack crumbling up that piece of paper is fricking hilarious.
Dug them boys is out of They are insane.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
On that show.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Roll a wheelchair.
Speaker 5 (01:13):
They are insane. The best man, the best on TV.
Speaker 7 (01:18):
I mean I almost wonder if, well, I mean, in
what other professional.
Speaker 5 (01:24):
Sport do you actually look more forward to.
Speaker 7 (01:27):
The pre half in postgame coverage with that crew on
team I don't think there's anything close to it.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Big kick off for me?
Speaker 7 (01:34):
Yeah, well, I wish that was the case. Let's be real,
there's nothing like those guys. They have the best show.
It's appointment television. It's why, it's why, honestly, like I
would tune in early watch an NBA game knowing those
guys are gonna be covering.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Yeah, I mean it's a credit to them.
Speaker 7 (01:52):
I also wonder if it if it like takes away
a little bit from the game itself because they are
so entertaining and they're so good.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Well, without TNT, would you watch less NBA? Because I
would like, if TNT wasn't involved, I would watch less
NBA because that is sort of the appeal that, hey,
if the game sucks, at least you know those guys
are going to drag somebody afterwards.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Like, honest to god, like at least we're sticking around
for the reaction.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
Okay, let's see.
Speaker 6 (02:20):
They have great analysis, you know, I mean, they do
give strong analysis to what it is. They aren't just personalities.
So yeah, I mean I like the way they move.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
Man.
Speaker 6 (02:30):
I definitely think it makes it more entertaining for certain
to watch the NBA. And you know, it's a part
of it's become almost more part of of it than
the games. Itself, you know, so yeah, but that junk
is funny. Man, it's trumble enough. That piece of paper
man that had me hurting, Like, why did they have
the wheelchair that man? Like, listen, you get a concussion.
(02:53):
If he was concussed, you can still But I will
say this, I don't know what it's like to be
six or eleven seven foot you know what I mean?
So if I have a concussion and I'm up that high,
do I get like vertigo or like some type of
like you know, far what are you?
Speaker 5 (03:09):
Six four six five six three? You're taller than that,
I might be okay.
Speaker 7 (03:15):
So you're saying eight inches nine inches taller, and you
think it's gonna make that big of a difference.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
It's not. It's not like you're on a different story
of a building. I'm reaching a Q.
Speaker 6 (03:24):
I'm trying to find a way, dude, to not go
with the crumbling of the.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Paper's gonna stand on top of the luxword and have
somebody hit him in the head.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
To see you if you relate to Anthony.
Speaker 6 (03:36):
Divis, I mean, you know, maybe everybody doesn't feel like
they're walking on the ground when they get elbowed in
the head.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
They feel like they're walking on a tight rope.
Speaker 6 (03:45):
I mean he needed to be in a wheelchair to
go back into the locker room. I mean, I don't know, man,
I don't know. I just I wanna, I wanna. I
want to live in the space where I'm supportive of
Anthony Davis, I really do. But the crumbling of the paper.
And they're both big men, you know what I mean.
(04:06):
So it's like they're both big guys. You know, Chuck
big Man, you know, small big man, but big man
Shaq one of the most dominant ever at big Man.
I mean, can you imagine how many times Shaq got
his ass hit and elbowed and punched and grabbed and
pulled like I mean he caught an elbow, like like
(04:29):
bite that bad boy off, you know what I mean,
Like swallow it and keep playing, like keep moving.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
Well, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
You know, it's no NFL, that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
And speaking of which, oh, we've got ourselves breaking news
coming up here in just a moment. First, want to
let you know it is two pros and a cup
of Joe here Fox Sports Radio. It's LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,
Jonas Knox with you and You can listen to this
show all the way up until nine am Eastern Time
six o'clock specific from the ti raq dot com studios.
Tiraq dot com will help you get there an unmatched selection,
(05:01):
fast free shipping, Free road has a protection and over
ten thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot com the way
tire buying should be. We've been speculating who was going
to open up the NFL season to kick off the
year in Kansas City against the Chiefs, And according to
Jordan Schultz, who covers the NFL and the NBA, that team.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Is the Detroit Lions. Wow, how about the Lions?
Speaker 4 (05:31):
The year Dan Campbell on National TV at punching kneecaps.
Come on, man, listen, you gotta spread the lubber at
like that. Like they send Aaron Rodgers packing. They say,
you know what, they get a win in Green Bay
and they send him pack And they missed the playoffs,
but they were one of the great stories last year.
(05:52):
And then they open up this year and they're in
Kansas City. I gotta be honest with you, they would
be one of the teams I thought I had no
chance to do it. We respect relating. Maybe it's Philadelphia.
I love the fact that it's the Lions. I think
this is great. Give them a little bit of love
except outside of Thanksgiving for for God's sakes, because that's
the only love they usually get.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
Good for the Lions.
Speaker 6 (06:11):
That's putting a lot of faith into to a team
that looks to be hitting in the right trending in
the right direction.
Speaker 5 (06:19):
Man, you gave him some love.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
Huh. We'll see, We'll see. I think that will be
pretty good. I mean, like you guys said, they're they're
the favorite in the North, right in the NFC North.
So I mean, let's let's see what they are coming
out of the gate. I mean, they might come out
pretty fast and be nice to see.
Speaker 7 (06:36):
Yeah, I'll tell you this much. I'm excited for them
this season. Again, there hasn't been much buzz around the
Detroit Lions for quite some time, and they're the betting
favorite to win the NFC North. You got to give
Brad Holmes, their general manager, their front office, and Dan
Campbell a lot of credit for the way they've built
this roster, and Ben Johnson and the job he's done
(06:56):
with Jared Goff, you know, putting him in positions to
succeed and allow their personnel offensive to really flourish. They
gotta make some improvements on defense. They were awful last
year defensively, but they've done that. You know, you bring
in a guy like Cam Sutton, you address some of
that in the draft as well, Jack campbellich to old
school linebacker floating around.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
There and Branch as well.
Speaker 7 (07:16):
So they've got pieces and they're building towards something. So
I'm excited to see what, you know, what this team
is gonna be. I mean, one thing we know is
this that team, even in their losses, they scrap, they fight,
it's entertaining. So I'm expecting a really fun game between
(07:36):
these two. And you know, the Lions are better than
you think, man, especially in the trenches like that's that's
one of those one of those spots too, where like
their offensive line when health these very capable of pushing
some people around a leaving McNeil on the inside. He
doesn't get enough credit for the job he does just
clogging things up.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
You know, Hutchinson had a good rookie year. I just
I think this team is on.
Speaker 7 (07:58):
The brink of something, but hopefully it's sustained competitiveness. I'm
not saying they won a Super Bowl and anything like that,
but sustained competitiveness moving forward.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
And I also think the easy thing would be to
schedule one of these name brand teams to go against
Kansas City to open up the year. It's kind of
cool that it's a team that a lot of people
scoff at and then they're going to be pleasantly surprised
possibly when they open up the season and you go, damn,
this team's much better than we thought. Dan Campbell's a
great story, and might I add there's something that this
(08:30):
show has in common with the Lions success.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
Now.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
I seem to recall one lebar Arrington calling a Lions
game two years ago. I seem to recall Brady Quinn
calling a Lions game last year. I feel like you
guys were at the root of this growth for the
Detroit Lions. You had to have noticed something different, even
though they were not a good team, even though they
had struggled at certain points during the season. Just being
around that team, you guys had to have noticed they
(08:54):
were on the rise and this was heading in a
positive direction. It had it had been noticeable, because here
we are and they're opening up the NFL season, And
I'd also like to say they are the people's team.
I'm not saying they're America's team because the Cowboys have
that copboard and some would argue the Steelers back in
the day. But they are the people's team because they've
got a bunch of people on their staff and on
(09:15):
their roster who also like to bet on games, a
bunch of degenerate gamblers. I'm just saying, listen, who does
like who doesn't like a degenerate gambler?
Speaker 3 (09:22):
And they've got a slew of them there.
Speaker 5 (09:24):
Well.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
On the Detroit Lions.
Speaker 7 (09:25):
The thing I like is they've got a lot of
former players in their staff. You know, they they've really
tapped into that guys who have played the game and
played well and been able to then share it with
with other guys. But you know, again I talked about,
you know, Cam Sutton, CJ. Gardner, Johnson, the additions they
made in their secondary this year, like those are all
pieces that you know they needed to their past coverage
(09:49):
was not good. You know, we'll see what the pass
rush looks like. I thought they'd add another edge rusher
and maybe they can. You know, there's still some free
agents out there that haven't signed, so they might be
able to find someone on a one year deal that
comes and is trying to prove something. But at this point,
it's it's gonna be interesting, you know, it's gonna be
interesting to see how the team initially deals with some
of those suspensions, right, and then you know how they're
(10:11):
able to kind of improve upon what was just a
dreadful defense last year.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
You've also got the NFC Championship rematch. This was announced yesterday.
You got forty nine Ers Eagles in week thirteen. Oh yeah,
I mean, hopefully the Niners will have a healthy quarterback
because Deebo Samuel says that they would have beaten Philadelphia
last year with Rock Perdy.
Speaker 7 (10:30):
I wondered, by the way, if that's part of the
thought behind that game and putting it that late in
the season, because now you're talking about an extra you.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
Know, roughly three months for Perdy to be back.
Speaker 7 (10:43):
We knew the timetable, or at least the thought now
is the timetable to come back for the beginning of
the season is really tight. But you throw on you know,
at that point, maybe it makes it a little easier.
Adding a few more months on there so we'll see
what happen.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
Happens.
Speaker 7 (11:00):
I mean that that's surgery. It's it's interesting. It's not
one that you want to rush back. It's one you
want to make sure you feel comfortable and you get right.
But it's also one that I think with football it's
a different timetable maybe than how baseball players look at
that surgery in that recovery.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
Yeah, and Black Friday, as we talked about yesterday.
Speaker 6 (11:21):
Berto, I'm not saying it again, Berto LeVar.
Speaker 7 (11:25):
Just last time I tried to have a conversation about
he did it again.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
What do you mean, Berto, did it?
Speaker 3 (11:31):
It's a day in the calendar.
Speaker 5 (11:32):
No, thank you man, thank you, Thank you.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Dolphins and Jets for Black Friday. So so we're going
to get to.
Speaker 5 (11:40):
Just keep you keep going.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
It's just an excuse to use it, I guess. But
it's Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
So good about it.
Speaker 6 (11:48):
You used that a lot, don't you know, when you're
at home all.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
The time, that's how you talked with your.
Speaker 5 (11:52):
Black Friday, Black Tuesday.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
To you, guys are all the same, all your days
is the same. Also, by the way, it should be
pointed out that the Lions had no Ari Ari Meroff,
who covers the NFL, pointed out the Lions had no
(12:14):
primetime games on their schedule last season when it came out,
so now seeing them picked for the first game of
the season just shows whether Detroit Lions are headed, that team's.
Speaker 5 (12:25):
On the rise.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Aaron Rodgers got out just in time before the Lions
take over that division.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
I'm talking about.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
Man two pros and a cup of Joe here, Fox
Sports Radio LeVar Arrington. Is that similar to Tiger's growl
whenever Tiger makes a comeback?
Speaker 5 (12:39):
Yeah, it's kind of the same thing. I'm sorry.
Speaker 7 (12:41):
I apologize to everyone now I'm reusing some material, but
it works.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
I think it works in both kids.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
But you're it's a deeper growl than the Tiger Woods one.
Like the Tiger Woods. Yea A score like yeah.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
Hey, it's like, of course it is. He doesn't do
black friends.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
You know, we've noticed I did pull out.
Speaker 5 (13:05):
Is that why some up said Lee would be a
great wingman for Tiger. That's why they said. That's why
they said Lee's roar is deeper like I did pull out.
Tigers is like raw, oh man?
Speaker 3 (13:25):
All right?
Speaker 6 (13:25):
So she was sitting there like what the f is
LeVar talking about right now, and you know what, I
don't know.
Speaker 5 (13:33):
I don't even know what I'm talking about. To be just.
Speaker 7 (13:38):
Back into the hedges like Homer Simpson, back into the hedges.
Speaker 6 (13:44):
Lee sitting there like I know exactly what LeVar is
talking about.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
We'll just put this way. Tiger prefers a certain set
of clubs.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
You know, so does Lee Roy Lee roy La from Queens.
Speaker 8 (13:56):
Roy does as well too from the lat from.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
All right, so, uh coming up next here on Two
Pros and a Cup of Joe from the tiraq dot
Com studios, we are going to also get some inside
information what other games are out there that are already
scheduled that we're not being told about. We're going to
try and get to the bottom of that. It's yours
here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 9 (14:19):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
Right now, we turn it over to the man himself,
a Thursday tradition onlike any other. He is Albert Breer,
Master Senior NFL reporter at the MMQB. Get him on
Twitter at Albertbreer big Al, what's happening happen today?
Speaker 5 (14:52):
Awesome start, we got out, this is this is what
we look forward to.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Is he not on the porch, to be honest, porch,
this is unfortunately.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
I think it needs to move at this point.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 10 (15:11):
I thought I got pulled off. Are we good now?
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Yeah, we're good right now?
Speaker 5 (15:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (15:16):
I thought I thought Lee. I thought Lee pulled me
off the air, so I stopped talking and then I
heard you guys talking, and then I thought I was
talking to Lee, and I'm actually talking to you guys.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
So yeah, and listen, we're all here together. Al can
we ask here?
Speaker 4 (15:29):
There's some reports out Jordan Schultz is saying that the
season opener in the NFL is going to be none
other than the Lions at the Chiefs. Early impressions of
that matchup and why that was the.
Speaker 10 (15:40):
One, Yeah, you know, I really liked the idea of it.
I didn't know if the league would do it, but
you know, like I, you look at their schedule generally,
you don't like stake division games these, right, Like, so
take the Chargers the Broncos and the Writers off the table.
And you know, I think for ratings reasons, they like
to save like the biggest games. So I think that
(16:02):
takes the Bengals, the Bills, the Eagles off the table.
And then when you look at it, you know, I
really thought like Detroit and Miami were probably the two
most interesting left. I mean, if we're being honest, like,
I think we all know where the where the discussion
would go if the Dolphins were in that game, like
with Tua coming back off the concussions and everything else,
(16:23):
and I just I felt like the league probably wouldn't
want that being a storyline going into the game, and
that sort of left me with Detroit. And look, I
got I think Detroit's a really fun, interesting team. They
finished the season strong last year, and like, look like
we know that game is gonna rate no matter what, right,
(16:43):
Like that game, you know, because of the popularity of
sport and and the NFL in particular, that game is
never gonna have a problem drawing a rating. And you
already have a really entertaining team on that stage and
the Chiefs, So why not introduce the lines to the country,
you know? And uh, I guess it would have been
even a little bit better if James and Williams could
have stepped strayed off the betting apps. But but, but,
(17:09):
but Detroit is shaping up to be a really entertaining team. Nonetheless, yes,
say that.
Speaker 7 (17:15):
Doesn't that kind of make that part of the conversation
into leading into the game.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Like.
Speaker 10 (17:20):
Concussions. I mean, you can get like, I mean, we
could sponsor that conversation.
Speaker 7 (17:24):
Can't we have that, we could sponsor it. But I mean,
as much as the laughing matter, we also have to
be careful about the integrity of the league and all
that comes along with that, which is probably why there's
a harsh penalty on them. I actually want to segue
to the conversation about the Jaguars playing back.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
To back weeks over in London.
Speaker 7 (17:46):
We saw a report come out that the Jacksonville Jaguars,
as they try to make stadium renovations, could be missing
missing a minimum of two years in Jacksonville.
Speaker 5 (17:57):
I mean, if I'm reading the tea leaves here, Albert.
Speaker 7 (17:59):
It's seems like it's just a convenient way of maybe
that the Jacksonville Jaguars making.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
The way over to London and just never coming back.
Speaker 10 (18:09):
Yeah, and you know, like I think that this was
something the league really did look at Brady. You know,
I I remember talking with Mark Waller, who you know
is a huge part of like launching the International Initiative
over you know, over the last decade or so, and
you know, he's not involved with the league anymore at
that level, but really was kind of like in charge
of getting it up and running. And you know, they
(18:30):
had a goal to have a team in London within
fifteen years of starting it and that and they started
that the London Series in two thousand and seven, and
so like you know, at one point the goal had
been by by last year to have a full time
team in London and they felt like the infrastructure and
all this stuff, the fan base, like all that stuff
was there. The biggest problem that they ran into that
(18:52):
they couldn't really solve with logistics. And you know, it's
like a lot of little things that you don't think of,
Like you game up the schedule to make it work
for a London team, but like what happens when you're
in the playoffs and like that London team draws Seattle,
you know, and that that that team's you know that
those teams are either you know, going one you know,
(19:12):
one way twelve hours or the other way twelve hours
in a one off situation where you've got to plan
and the fly.
Speaker 5 (19:18):
I mean, I've got a civil solution to that, Albert.
You just don't put them in the same conference as Seattle.
Speaker 10 (19:25):
Well, but you have West Coast, but you have like
West Coast teams in every conference.
Speaker 7 (19:28):
And sure, I'm just I'm just saying you kind of
you know, you kind of hope to eliminate some of
that by limiting all right, San Francisco, Seattle, the LA Rams.
There's it seems to be at least you've got a
higher percentage in the NFC.
Speaker 10 (19:42):
Yeah, and there was there was more of it too,
Like I mean, there were other things also, Brady, I mean,
but beyond just that, it was like you know, and
and you guys know this having been on NFL teams,
how rosters turned during the year, Like what happens when
you have a few injuries and you have to bring
guys in for a Tuesday workout, you know what I mean,
Like where do you do that? And I'd actually heard
at one point like the Falcons had looked at this
(20:06):
was actually really interesting. At one point, the Falcons had
looked at and if you guys know where the Falcons facility,
it's about an hour north of Atlanta. It's not close
to Atlanta. So the Falcons had looked at like building
a training facility closer to the city, you know, where
their stadium is and obviously where most of their fan
base is, and then selling the facility and Flowery Branch
to the league, and the league would then use that
(20:28):
as the US home base for the London team. And
so the London team, like when they're playing in the States,
would come over and practice during the week in that
facility in Atlanta, and that's where they would conduct their
Tuesday workouts and all that sort of stuff and do
a lot of their business. So there are ways to
do it. It's just I think there are a lot
of like logistical questions that were were difficult to answer
(20:50):
and look like if it came to it, like and
you know, like say there was a team that was
going to go through a two year stadium renovation, like
you're talking about, maybe it would be an interesting drive run,
you know, to have somebody over there and see how
it would work if you were doing it that way.
So you know, I think they do feel like they've
gotten to the point where London because the stand a team.
(21:13):
You know, you've got a stadium there that's that's built
specifically with football in mind, in the Tottenham Stadium, and
they feel like the sand bases there and obviously there's
a lot of money to be made over there, but
the logistical issues were what stood in the way of
of trying to take a team over there full time.
Speaker 5 (21:30):
Hm Abe.
Speaker 6 (21:32):
I wanted to talk to you about one of the
articles you wrote and and your headline was why NFL
team should tank for Caleb Williams and Drake So let's
let's I mean like tanking is obviously frowned upon, it's
it's it's it's looked at a certain type of way.
So for that to be in the title, I found
(21:55):
it to be super super uh provocative and what it
is that you did it, But there's a lot of
validity to what it is that you, you know, put
into your article. Just talk to me about the thought
process behind you know what that is with with Caleb
Williams and Drake may.
Speaker 10 (22:13):
Well, let me let me start here. I don't write
the headlines, huh, Okay, no, I'm not trying. I mean,
it is a product provocative headline if you if you
actually re read what I wrote there, like what but
the case I was making because somebody had asked me
as a mailbag question, and somebody had asked me, is
(22:34):
the NFL going to have a tanking problem with with
with the quarterbacks and this year's draft? And my answer
was yes, but I don't think it's going to be
in September or October.
Speaker 5 (22:44):
You know what.
Speaker 10 (22:44):
I where I think it's going to happen is in
December and January. And I said that, like, if I'm
one of those teams, I probably would do it, And like,
you're not doing it for telling a coach don't coach
to win. You're not doing it through telling players you
know we want you to quit on the season. I
would do it through creative roster management. I would, you know,
(23:05):
I would set things up. I would try to game
it a certain way so you know you are positioning
yourself to get the number one or number two draft pick.
And I think if you look at this historically, history
tells us that it is the right thing to do,
you know, I mean, and I know that sounds harsh,
but like, if you look at like the Jets a
couple of years ago, if the twenty twenty Jets lose
(23:28):
one more game, if they don't have like this little
two game win streak where I believe if I go
I go back and look at like how I wrote this,
but I think they beat two playoff teams in a
row in December. If they don't win those games in December,
then they wind up with Trevor Lawrence, and we're talking
about a whole different deal, you know, with the Jets. Now,
I think it's Zach Wilson. They are where they are
so like, I just think, I just think when we
(23:50):
get to December and January. Now, I don't think it's
gonna ben issues September in October, but we get to
December January, if Caleb Williams and Drake may have the
year that people are expecting them to have, there's definitely
gonna be a point of discussion. And I think there
are going to be a few teams where you can
say the right thing for them to do is lose out.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
Get him on Twitter at Albert Breer. He is senior
NFL reporter for the MMQB always kind enough to join
us here on Fox Sports Radio every single Thursday. Warning, Albert,
I got to know when it comes to the NFL
schedule release, how far in advance do you know what
these games are?
Speaker 3 (24:24):
But you're told to keep quiet?
Speaker 4 (24:26):
Take us inside, because there was some confusion about the
London games, whether are the Germany games, whether it was
going to be Chiefs Bears. There was the Saints at
Patriots rumor that was out there. Some people got that wrong,
including I allegedly Travis and Jason. Kelsey's mom went on
Facebook and said those games were happening. So they seem
(24:46):
felt like there was some bad information this year. So
take us through what it's like being an insider when
you get this information and when you're allowed to let
it loose.
Speaker 10 (24:54):
I mean, I don't really like, honestly, this isn't something
I really pursue. You know, I have things all favors
in on. This isn't one of them for me. You know,
I like, I'll find stuff out, I'll hear stuff just
as the natural course of things and in talking to people,
But I don't really pursue this because I just I
don't know. It sort of is what it is to me. Now,
(25:16):
One thing I have heard is that the league is
being very very tight about the information for this year
for one reason or another. I'm not sure why why
it's this year over other years, why they're being so secretive,
but I've heard there are there may or may not
be some signed documents for people that have the schedule
(25:37):
that could lead to problems for those people if they
let the information out. So I don't know why this
is a huge secret this year, but but I do know,
like you know, some of the people that I like,
that that that I've gone to for this sort of
thing in the past when I might need one thing
or two things from them, are a lot tighter this
(25:58):
year than they have been in the asked and I,
you know, before this year, honestly, it really wasn't that
hard to come by the information. You get it if
you want, if you really want to after it. This year,
for one reason or another, they've been a little bit
tighter about the information. I don't know why.
Speaker 5 (26:16):
How do you think this is all going to play out?
Speaker 7 (26:18):
With the networks not taking their typical I guess approach
to having you know, Fox with the NFC, CBS with
the AFC, it seems like there's going to be a
lot of crossover and obviously a good time at least
for Fox. Considering all the star power quarterbacks in the AFC.
How do you think that's going to play a role?
Speaker 5 (26:39):
And just the way it's broadcasted this year.
Speaker 10 (26:42):
Yeah, I think there are a couple reasons for it, Brady,
And look like, I think the reason why it's good
to have it that way, it's like it builds familiarity,
you know, like like who knows the like who would
know the the Chiefs or the you know, or the
Bills or the Bangal better than than Jim Nantz and
Tony Robo, right like? And how familiar to do like
(27:05):
you know, Kevin Burkhart and Greg Olsen get to be
with the Cowboys and the Giants and the Eagles, you know.
Like that's the advantage of having it that way. I
think really with this boils down to this a couple
of things. The price point of the of the broadcast package,
use the course is part of it. And making sure
that everybody gets the best games when things are lopsided
and the conferences are a little lopsided. Right now, I
(27:25):
think we can all agree on that, right you know,
and then I think the other part of it is
like just being able to generate better ratings on secondary
games and so like this isn't so much about you know,
like making sure the Chiefs get on and more markets,
or the Eagles get on in more markets. This is
(27:46):
like I think, in individual markets, about making sure that
like you're getting the most interesting game, right, Like so
like in Ohio, right, like say, like you grew up,
you you live in Cleveland, and like because of some
of the rules, CBS can't have a double header that
that week. So Cleveland and Cincinnati are in the playoffs,
right or are you know, coming down to it for
(28:07):
the division and because of the rules, because they're both
on CBS, like you can't get the Cincinnati game in Cleveland.
Like that doesn't make sense, right, So what you're saying,
this sort of solves that, you know, And so I
think that this helps with that, and you know you're
still going to see it. I mean, I like there's
still like I believe there's still minimums in place, So
(28:28):
but the CBS will still get a minimum number of
Chiefs games, and box will still get a minimum number
of Cowboys games. But I think this allows them to
game the schedule a little bit better, where like the
it'll be more even between the networks. And you know
that's especially with all the primetime inventory going out the windows.
There's more prime primetime inventory than ever before, you know.
(28:50):
And then also make sure that you know in certain
markets you're getting games that affect your teams the most.
Speaker 5 (28:55):
So we can expect to have more of of Tony is.
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
I was wondering who's going to take that one? Albert,
We appreciate it. Get him on Twitter at Albert Breers,
senior NFL reporter at the m m QB, who basically
just said on the air, I'm too good to reach
out for information on the NFL schedule release.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
Basically, don't you guys.
Speaker 10 (29:25):
I mean like we all sort of embraced the ridiculous
this of it, but I mean this is sort of like,
how like how addicted that America is the football.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
Right in the middle, in the middle of the NBA playoffs,
and this is what we're focused on, Yes, right, right right.
Speaker 10 (29:44):
We're brats for football and May eleven has proved it.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
Yep, that's how it is. Albert, Thanks again, man. We'll
do it again next week. All right, thanks, it is

So would you guys consider Bo Jackson one of the
great athletes of all time?
Speaker 5 (32:24):
Doubt? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (32:25):
So like him, Dion, Like the short list would be him,
Dion and I don't even know who.
Speaker 5 (32:30):
Like Jordan Herschael Walker.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
Yeah, herschel Walker, I guess would be the other one
as well too.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
So it's hard to imagine that you would have anything
over Bo Jackson, but apparently you may because Bo Jackson,
who missed the unveiling of the Frank Thomas statue, was
asked about it on radio in Birmingham, Alabama. He was
on with McElroy and Kublick, and he explained his absence.
(32:58):
And it's not exactly the most ideal situation for the
gray bo Jackson.
Speaker 13 (33:03):
I wasn't there because of dealing with hiccups I have.
I've had the hiccups since last July, and I'm getting
the medical procedure done the end of this week. I
think to try to remedy it. But I'm busy at
the hospital, sitting up with doctors poking me in, shining
lights down my throat, and you probing me every way
they can to find out why I got these hiccups.
Speaker 5 (33:25):
So that's the only reason that I wasn't there. Have
we figured it out?
Speaker 13 (33:28):
Hell no, I have done everything. Scare me, drink water
upside down, smell the ass of a porcupine.
Speaker 5 (33:35):
It doesn't work.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
What listen, I mean desperate times, confortation, mean.
Speaker 7 (33:46):
A porcupine, or like a skunk, because I could see,
like the skunk, like it's just you know, especially if
it does what a skunk does. I could see that
just whatever's going on in your body completely distracts it
and like resets you a porcupine.
Speaker 5 (34:03):
You might get poked by one of the quists, Like
that's a real threat.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
Maybe it's the scared portion of it, because there is
that the theory that you get scared. I think you
mentioned it there where you know, somebody jolgs like, oh
look there's a spider and they scare you. And it
gets rid of hiccups. I can't imagine having hiccups. That
seems like absolute misery, having hiccups for ten months.
Speaker 5 (34:25):
I think that was possible.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
Don't you just hold your breath? That's what I do.
You just hold your breath and breath through it.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
Yeah, labar, how do you get rid of hiccups?
Speaker 5 (34:33):
What your mom? How did I get rid of hiccups?
I mean, I guess it was hold your breath?
Speaker 4 (34:40):
Because lead to lap has a method that makes no
sense to me.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
Whatsoever?
Speaker 5 (34:46):
Well, what is it?
Speaker 6 (34:46):
Well?
Speaker 14 (34:47):
Will you heard him talk about drinking water upside down?
One that I use is, uh, you put a paper
towel over a glass of water and you drink it
through the paper towel, and it forces you to kind
of like go the water in such a way that
gets rid of the hiccups. It's kind of like when
I think of doing it. It's kind of like forcing
(35:07):
a burp.
Speaker 5 (35:09):
In the hell are you talking about?
Speaker 12 (35:11):
I swear?
Speaker 5 (35:12):
Why would you just gulp water out of the cup.
Why do you need the paper towel?
Speaker 14 (35:17):
Yeah, it forces you to gulp it in such a
way so you waterboard yourself.
Speaker 15 (35:21):
It's kind of like waterboarding yourself.
Speaker 6 (35:23):
Sure, why don't you just have somebody waterboard you guys, Yeah,
have somebody.
Speaker 5 (35:31):
Put it, havetop, put something over your head.
Speaker 15 (35:34):
We can try this right now.
Speaker 6 (35:35):
And get a gallon of water and and just pour
it over your face.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
Margaritaville, Uh, like hand towel and net's have Todd waterboard
you can?
Speaker 15 (35:44):
Can you waterboard be with Margarita's.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
I'll do that because wouldn't the water break through the
paper towel?
Speaker 15 (35:51):
It does? Yeah, well you have to kind of, yeah,
gulp it through.
Speaker 5 (35:55):
What do you mean gulp it through?
Speaker 7 (35:57):
It's if it's a good paper towel, it's probably preventing
the water from comac exit.
Speaker 15 (36:03):
Well, you could you can gulp it through, even through
a bounty towel.
Speaker 5 (36:07):
There's no golfing. If it's the water stock coming through
the towel.
Speaker 15 (36:11):
It goes through.
Speaker 14 (36:12):
Brady It's not like there's paper towels out there that
just stop the water from coming through.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
The paper towels we have here in the kitchen.
Speaker 14 (36:18):
Yeah, those are those old tear Yeah, those are I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (36:23):
It seems like a really so bad let's not get
caught on paper towel. Let's just go tow like, let's
go handtow let's let's let's go, let's go regular tow
cover your face up.
Speaker 5 (36:38):
Let's go for Watson.
Speaker 8 (36:40):
That's like a serving tray, you know, Seawn, Watson's towel
might not let the water go through. But but that's
like Captain America's shield.
Speaker 6 (36:52):
And I'm sure here's some some ingredients that I'm sure
some ingredients that may stop your your hiccups from take You.
Speaker 4 (37:03):
Say, you know, I weren't wait too long with Brady
because I knew exactly where that was going the second
that a handtal got brought up, that it was going
to go the Deshaun Watson route. Yeah, but I mean, listen,
I just can't imagine walking around for ten months with
hiccups of.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
Don't go away. That is crazy, absolute misery.
Speaker 15 (37:24):
This may be due to certain lung or brain disorders.
According to web MD.
Speaker 7 (37:30):
Okay, I mean what nerve damage or irritation is what
I'm saying. And this would be a nerve that'd be
damaged that Jonas would be very very well aware of.
Speaker 5 (37:40):
That's the vegas nerves.
Speaker 4 (37:42):
Yeah, that's very very great point. Yeah, that is the
vegas nerves. It's look, I don't know what his method
to solving this is. He said he's been working on
it for ten months. He's had things jammed down. Is
they probed him, They've done everything like it's some alien
X exorcism. Uh, the thing seems weird. And Lee, I
(38:04):
just don't know what paper towel on planet Earth is
going to stop water from coming out of a cop.
Speaker 5 (38:08):
Yeah that was that.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
But you swear by it rightly. It works.
Speaker 15 (38:13):
I Yeah, I swear by it. We can try it
next time we have hiccups. Absolutely, we'll do this on
the show.
Speaker 5 (38:18):
I'm in Oh my God.
Speaker 2 (38:19):
