Speaker 1 (01:50):
Listen, hanging in there. We're just getting ready for what
many people thought was impossible, myself included.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
And the getting right to it.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Huh well, I'm just saying, let's get right to it.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
I'm just saying, like, there's amazing.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
How the hell, How the hell do we have a
game seven tonight?

Speaker 5 (02:07):
How do we have a game seven?

Speaker 4 (02:10):
And how do we have a game seven where we
think history is about to be made.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
That's there's a reason why teams are zero to one
point fifty when down three in an NBA series that
have never won in the postseason. And yet here we are,
and you got the Celtics who are overwhelming favorites in
this game seven. And that's one of the craziest endings
I've ever seen to a game in any sport.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Well, they had the gang. The Celtics had the game
pretty much I won't say under control, yeah they did,
but but it was they were handling their business and
they were getting things done, they were executing, and then
all of a sudden, the heat just made this. They

(02:57):
just made a heat run. And in some ways, somehow,
you know Jimmy Butler and the things that he does
is just it just continues to amaze. He wills those
guys in such a way. I don't know that I've
seen another player do it the way that he does.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
And he wasn't even he wasn't very good that game,
I mean, but still.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
But when he needed to deliver, he did.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Like down the stretch he did, and they tied the game,
or they get back into the game, they tie the game,
they take the lead and they take the lead at
the end of the game. Like at the end of
the game, they take the lead, and the way the
way the Celtics, you know, win this game, I mean,

(03:46):
I mean, it was just it was crazy. Man. What
three seconds left, Marcus Smart misses the shot, White grabs
it and throws it in and it it really looked
like Smart health the ball like way too long for
there to be a rebound to put it back in.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
And Eric Spolster said afterwards, he said, it was just
it bounced the one place we couldn't have it bounce.
And there's those moments during a run where you get
a break something just a bouncers goes your way, and
it's not really about who's the better team, it's just
who's there and the most fortunate in that moment. And
to see the ball bounce the way it did, I

(04:25):
thought it was late. I didn't think he had gotten
the tip in in time.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
At first. It looked late.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
And it was funny because the telecast had it as
a final with the Heat winning. Yeah, it was so funny.
It was just so unbelievable the way that it unfolded.
But you know, for Eric Spolstre to say that I don't.
I don't subscribe to that, Jonas. And I'm gonna tell
you why. As a former athlete and as a former player,

(04:53):
one thing that you are always taught to do is
play till from whistle to whistle, play till it's over. There.
There was I don't recall what player it was that
was with White, but there was a player there.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
With him, Max strus would he was he guarded away
from the inbound pass.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Okay, so he was the one that was on White
when White was cutting to the basket to go get
a rebound.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
Yeah, yeah, See that just can't happen.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
But he was late because he was guarding Tatum and
not the inbound pass. Had he been guarding the inbound pass,
he would have followed White all the way to the basket.
But because he wasn't, that's what caused the delay, and
White was there to make the rebound.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Well, if that's the case, then that's dumb defense. And
I'm gonna tell you why that's dumb defense. I'm gonna
tell you exactly why that's dumb defense. Then why didn't
they just hit the kid for the back door to
beg to begin with? Instead of shooting that three pointer.
That was a wild three pointer. Why not just hit
him cutting too to the basket. If I recall correctly

(06:03):
watching it, he was close enough. He was close enough.
And to me, I just think that you just got
to finish out like he could find it, find a
way to keep that guy from getting to the rim,
because anything and everything can happen in a desperation movement,
and it did. That was that was like an immaculate reception,

(06:25):
to be honest, it's the probability of that was so
out there. I just I just don't I don't get
how it happens. I don't get how you let it happen.
And why the hell would you let a cutter go
to the rim and not be guarded because you want
to stop Tatum. Nah, I don't buy that.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Yeah, I don't buy that one.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Just to see, like I assume when Jimmy Butler went
because the Celtics were of double digits like four minutes left,
three or four minutes left, and you felt like if
they would like it was the worst three point shooting
performance they had all year. They were terrible, and they
couldn't hit a shot from outside, and Tatum ended up
with thirty plus, but a lot of that was on
the on the foul line, Like he didn't hit a

(07:09):
three the entire game, which I don't know how often
that's happened this year. But you look at just the
way the game was broken down, and you saw a
few minutes left and the Celtics are up double digits,
you just assumed, with Jimmy Butler having a bad game,
and with you know, kind of how the game was going,
you just assumed, Okay, Boston's going to easily win this,
and to your point, the Heat just make another rally.

(07:30):
And it's what I've talked about it before. It's what
the Celtics do. This is what they do. They pulled
their foot off the gas. Charles Barkley and them talked
to Jalen Brown afterwards and said, why do you guys
do this?

Speaker 2 (07:41):
And he said, I don't know, Like that's just.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
They'll go up big on a team and then they'll
just fall apart late and next thing you know, Miami's
back in that game. Butler goes to the foul line,
he hits those three free throws.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
I just assumed ice water, ice water in his veins, yeah,
ice water in his veins.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yeah, just walking three after a bad game, after a
subpar game, goes up, hits all three free throws, and
I just assumed at that point, man, Miami's gonna win
this game, as it should have been. Boston deserves everything
they get. And then Marcus Smart throws that shot up
and it bounces out in White tips it back in

(08:19):
and I just thought, oh, that's late. There's no way
that's and and the officials counted it on the floor. Yeah,
And then I they show the replay and I go,
oh my god, he got it off for a tenth
of a second, literally a second.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
But how funny is it that you said the same
exact thing for Jimmy Butler getting those three free throws,
Because at first the referee said two. Yep, he said two.
So if it's two, it's a tie game. This this
thing is going into ot. Then you look at the replay,
You're like, oh my gosh, he's behind the three point

(08:53):
He's got to get three shots, right.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
So I mean that's if it's one thing you can
take away from the game, at least the viewing audiences
got their money's worth, and a little more from the NBA.
The NBA Playoffs did deliver, and you got to believe
that the ratings, the interest in this game tonight is

(09:20):
going to be super hot.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Oh man, it's gonna be massive.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
And then you just see the reactions of the people
in that arena and you see these live reactions that
are around social media.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
I think there was a like, I think this was
in somewhere.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
I believe it was somewhere in Florida, but somebody took
a live reaction video of these people that were watching
the game at a wedding and they thought the heat won,
so they started lighting off fireworks. They were running around
with a heat banner, like the place is going nuts.
And the person who was watching it put their phone
like they dropped the phone dow because he just thought,

(10:00):
oh that's it. Ball missed, shot, was late.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
We won.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
And then you pan over and there's a couple of
these other guys that are still watching their phones and
they're stunned because they don't have the heart to tell everybody, Hey,
put the sparklers away. We just lost.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Did you see did you see the close up picture
of the people on the sideline for the Celtics, the
GM went into straight professional or Xavier mode with the
School of the Mutant. He put both his hands on
his head and was rubbing his temples like he was
telepathically controlling everything that was going on.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
It's really like, this is that's one of those moments
people are going to talk about for if Boston wins.
If Boston wins tonight, the conversation will then go to
where were you when Derek White saved their season with
the tenth of a second left? Like that's gonna be
one of those moments because it was so incredible just
to sit there and watch and see what happened. Were

(10:58):
you guys having having a little barbecue where you guys,
you guys throwing down?

Speaker 4 (11:02):
Or no, man, we had We've had volleyball. Marley has
had volleyball. The entire time we were watching, I was
watching on my mobile device, you know. So, yeah, she
had a great She's had a great tournament.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
They're still going today.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
Like talk about taking somebody's uh freaking you know, vacation.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
I mean, bro, is that.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
What it is?

Speaker 1 (11:28):
That's what this is what this is all about. Because
there's a baseball field, like a youth baseball field near
my house, and the traffic in the parking is a nightmare.
So is this what happens when your kids get older?
I just want to know what I'm looking forward to.
And then holiday weekends are ruined.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
If you have an athlete, you're going to be moving around,
and so you better save up your coins, cause it
isn't just local if they're pretty good, or if you know,
even if they're not pretty good. If if dad and
mom have some coins to rub together, your kid will
be on a traveling squad and you will be going

(12:04):
to different places to watch your kid play and either
be really good or suck. And you're sitting there and
you're like, why do I pay all right tells and
pay for food. I have been times in my life
where I'm sitting there thinking that in my head about
you know, some of my kids, like they suck, Like

(12:27):
what are we doing here? We could stay local for this,
you know. But the investment. The investment isn't about them
being you know, great at what it is that they're doing.
The investment is and giving them that exposure and building
that confidence in them to be able to understand that
they can compete anywhere in the country and sometimes anywhere

(12:50):
in the world. I'm appreciative of my parents for doing that.
You know, I had traveled the world by fourteen, you
know I had been to Germany. Yeah, I've been to Europe.
I've been to like Germany, France. I've been to Barcelona, Spain.
By fourteen, man playing basketball, I still haven't been there.

(13:12):
I mean, I was scared to death to fly. My
first time flying was twelve years old, which that might
not sound like anything now in twenty twenty three, but
at twelve years old and in the you know what,
the eighties, the nineties, how old was it. Let's say
ninety would have been. Yeah, that would have been late eighties,

(13:36):
like eighty nine, eighty eight or something to that effect.
I was. I flew to Salt Lake City to play
in a big basketball tournament.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
Which, by the way, the dude Bradley.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Was playing in that tournament as well as an as
an athlete, which was interesting because I had been to
taller that was the tallest person I had seen in
my life.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Which he was at that point in time.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Can we get an date on Sean Bradley's I believe
he was like seven to six or something like.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
That, And yeah he was. He was the great hype too,
Like you know what, I mean, didn't he end up
going to b YU Yeah, yeah, yeah, he was six. Dude,
he was dunking without jumping.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Is he still with us like Sean Bradley, I just
want to yeah, yeah, we have a confirmation on that.
I just wanted to make sure.

Speaker 5 (14:22):
Yeah he was. That was pretty interesting.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
But yeah, I was twelve years old when I saw
saw Bradley out there. So anyway back to the original point, Yes,
the answer is, yes, you're going to have to take
your quality time, and that quality is going to have
to be supporting your child. You know, for me, it's

(14:46):
been you know more, I'm outnumbered. So sometimes we have
you know, three or four people going three or four
different ways, you know what I mean. And that's that's
a challenge. That's a challenge and sometimes you're, uh, you're
worn out, Jonas. Sometimes being a parent wears you out,

(15:08):
especially being a sports parent.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
So when you saw Sean Bradley, how tall were you?

Speaker 3 (15:14):
Are?

Speaker 2 (15:14):
You fully grown?

Speaker 5 (15:17):
I was probably fully grown by.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
That, right, So you're six three, Sean Bradley's seven to six.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
And I realized that there was two things that I
had to reconcile, right which he was older, he was
playing in an older bracket, but there were still dudes
that were my age that were like they were up there,
they're six eight six.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Nine seven six.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
Yeah, that's I mean. I saw him play. He dunked
without jumping, like he was like on his tippy toes
dunking the ball.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Didn't you also know George Marrason when you were in
d C.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
Yes, I know George. Yes, there's no he's still alive too.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Like he got a common theme here, like George, because
George Merrison was what seven five or seven songs.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
Dude man, one of the coolest dude Joe ever meet,
just a super kind.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Guy man, Like you're a professional.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
I got a picture with him. You got a picture
with him.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
You're a professional athlete. And they've got a foot and
three inches on you. That's what you Philip.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
That bit insignificant. I'll tell you a funny story. I'll
tell you a funny story. We were watching the heat
play and Shaq was on the heat and and he
was on the sideline and he was like what's up brh?
Like you know, I was like, what's up?

Speaker 5 (16:35):
Shack? You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (16:36):
His first time I ever met him, and I was
like I see you after the game. He's like all right.

Speaker 5 (16:41):
Then I pointed to the tricks.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
I was like hey, hey, and I cut my throat
like hey, man, like, don't go after my chick man.
Like I had to make sure he knew, like hey, look, hey,
Shack Diesel, don't don't be trying to go after my
chick man. And then we go in the back and
we you know, we meet him and we're hanging out
and outside of the locker room when I went to
dappi jonas, he dapped me up and my head hit

(17:06):
the man's armpit. You want to talk about you want
to talk about feeling insignificant, Like I've played against dudes,
like I played against a Donald Foyle, I played against
Jeheidi White when I was in high school. Like I
played against all these dudes when I was on traveling squad.
So I was, like I said, I was a pretty

(17:27):
dog on good basketball player. I played against a lot
of these dudes, Samaki Walker, Stephan Maulberry, Kareem Reid, Like
I played against all these dudes when I was in
high school, But I never felt insignificant, Like I got
dunked on one time and it was in Ohio. I'll
never forget I got dunked on in a tournament in Ohio.

(17:48):
I saw the ball and I was about and my
whole thing was I could leap. So that was how
I was able to really get along with what I
was doing with these dudes. See the ball, I get
ready to go jump for the ball, Jonas, and then
I see a shadow coming over me. And I was like,
I couldn't understand because I wasn't outside, so I didn't
understand why there was a shadow. That saw a shadow.

(18:09):
I'm about to jump, I see a shadow and lo
and behold it was I don't even remember who it was.
Who did it? It might have been.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Why has it got to be a shadow? I mean,
it's just that somebody.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
Because it was a shadow.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
That man was so high in the sky that the
lighting from the gym created a shadow, and that shadow
was over top of me, but it was under me,
you know.

Speaker 5 (18:36):
What I mean.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
Like I'm seeing it on the court and I'm like
trying to understand this. I'm trying to comprehend all of this.
And while I'm trying to comprehend it, I'm like, I'm
gonna jump and get this ball. I go to jump
and get the ball. The dude's chest all kinds of
other body parts hit me in my back. He gets
a hold of the ball, he dunks it. The whole
gym goes crazy. Uh.

Speaker 5 (18:55):
That was a very, very.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
Maybe one of the most sports humble moments of my
entire life.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
Well, who was the guy this guy, because you remember
who's probably still bragging a battle like, Oh, I dunked
on LeVar Arrington.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
He probably was.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
I don't think he knew the note that guy. I
was like fourteen fifteen years old. Yeah, but sticks, I
don't think he knew Come on, yeah, I mean, and
they were like they were hitting the college like you know.
I was on the team with Danny Forson. If you
guys can remember that name. He played for Cincinnati and
ended up going pro. He was with Art Long and
those guys at Cincinnati are Long. Yeah, horse the.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Horse Art Long.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
Everybody remembers Art Long for the horse.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Art Long punch the police horse. He got drunk and
punched the horse.

Speaker 5 (19:43):
Punched The police said he knocked it out too. He
knocked a snack out.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
That's a true. Andy Fervott told me that story that
now you're making that up.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
He goes look it up, and there's really an article
that Art Long punched the police out.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
He didn't just but he didn't punch punch it. He
knocked it out. He knocked the horse out. Like, what's
wrong with you are? Like, what's wrong with your heart?

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Man?

Speaker 5 (20:06):
What's the what? What? What type of issue do you have?

Speaker 2 (20:09):
You ask him about that?

Speaker 4 (20:10):
Like what was he I never met art smoking? What
was he doing? I never met art Long. I just
heard the story, you know, I just heard the story.
But he knocked it out?

Speaker 5 (20:22):
Story?

Speaker 2 (20:23):
I got that being like, what's the most drug you've
ever been?

Speaker 5 (20:25):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (20:25):
You know, I fell asleep on the I was naked.
Oh you know, I walked into the wrong house. You know,
I punched it in.

Speaker 5 (20:33):
The bushes, right police?

Speaker 4 (20:38):
Yeah, I don't know, man, I don't know. But yeah,
But but back to the original point before we go
to break. Uh, yes, if baby boy ends up being
an athlete, you will be doing baseball tournaments and basketball
tournaments and football flags seven on seven tournaments where it's like, wait,
it's like the weirdest thing.

Speaker 5 (20:59):
I go to the same places. I'm hitting to Chicago,
I'm hitting to Ohio, I'm hitting to Kentucky, I'm hitting
to Las Vegas. I'm heading to California. Like, why is
it all the same places that are taking an advantage
of these these tournaments. Man, it seems like you got
to travel to the same exact places. And then I

(21:22):
realized that there are other places that are doing the
same exact things, and you have pockets of people. I
was on an airplane and it was one hundred different
girls for volleyball. Getting on airplane, I was like, oh,
you guys are hitting Indiana. They're like, no, we're heading
to Chicago. I was like, oh, the next thing you know,
I'm hearing I'm hitting. Well, they're hitting to Chicago too,
you know, in like a month. So it's yeah, it's

(21:43):
it's it's hectic being.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
A sports parent, man, no time off, a lot of
money in that travel team game.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
A lot of money in that travel team game, a
lot very pricey. It is too pros and a cup
of Joe.

Speaker 1 (21:56):

a lot.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Of people projected.

talking about what was going to happen with DeAndre Hopkins
and the Arizona Cardinals and whether or not they were
going to get a deal done and get a trade done.

(23:18):
It was like the worst kept secret in the world. Well,
they went ahead and.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
Just released it one, Yeah they did.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
They got to do.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Yeah, they just went ahead and released him. They couldn't
find trade partners.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
There was some language in the contract that I think
some people weren't really interested in trying to take in
all that extra cap, and so the Cardinals are going
to have to wear it.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
They take a dead cap hit.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
I think it's like two yeah, twenty two million, something
like that, and so they just move on from DeAndre Hopkins.
And one of the stories that's out there is Kyle Odegard,
who covered the Arizona Cardinals for a while, is reporting
that DeAndre Hopkins upset some of the Cardinals organization by
sitting out the final two games of last season.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
Even though he was healthy.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
It may have been a sticky situation if he remained
with the team until the trade deadline, So there was
that sort of an issue that it popped up. He
was pulled from the game before that late in the
game and was not happy about it. The Cardinals said
he had some sort of a knee issue or a
knee flared up for those two games that he missed.
But nonetheless, the situation in Arizona, Look, it's one of

(24:23):
the most under the radar disaster franchises in sports. Like
just all the stuff that's gone on the Kyler Murray
the owner, you know, the lawsuit against Michael Bidwell and
the organization, and they come out and they you know,
accused the guy who made the accusation of domestic abuse
and alcoholism and all the other things that come along

(24:46):
with it, you know, them you know, having to swap
draft picks because they were tampering with their new head coach.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
During Super Bowl Week. Like, it's a mess in Arizona.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
And I just wonder what's the plan, Like is Kyler
Murray the long term fit, because if this team's pitching.

Speaker 4 (25:01):
Them, no, he's not, you know, he's not unless he
can somehow play himself in position to be re reevaluated
and reassessed where the organization feels as though they can
build this franchise around him. I think it's a I

(25:23):
think it's kind of a lock that this team is
preparing themselves to try to get a run at Caleb
Williams or the other kid out of North Carolina.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
And Drake May Drake May.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
I think listen, I don't think a team is able
to tank by saying to the coach tank this season,
because you're going to be able to see it, as
I mentioned, you're going to be able to see it
when you don't play certain players but elite if you

(26:01):
getting rid of them players and they're not on the
team to begin with, and your team is it was
already projected to win what was it like, three or.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Four games, four and a half the win total.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
Yeah, that that.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
You gotta believe they are putting themselves in position to
make a run at Caleb Williams Like, that's that to me,
I think is very clear. And if that is playing
out that way, uh, Kyler Murray is a gonner in
Arizona and and maybe I mean, what is what's next

(26:42):
for Kyler Murray because now you're going to look at
at the fact that he was put in a in
in some some cases, he was put in a favorable
position to be able to have a successful NFL career
as a starting franchise quarterback. Was awarded a franchise quarterback's

(27:02):
contract and didn't live up to, you know, whatever standards
that were connected to being that guy. So you would
have to wonder what's next for him if this is
indeed that year, that judgment year for him and it
doesn't work out. But as far as for Arizona, I

(27:25):
would assume that they're going to take the lumps and
bumps of the media, of the fan base and not
have a good year to see if they kids start
to rebuild their team with a franchise caliber kid, once
in a generation kid out of the draft this year

(27:47):
at the quarterback position.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Yeah, I just look at it and I go, he's
not for long Kyler Murray. I don't see how it
makes sense now if they looked at it as well. Look,
if we end up with the number one pin and
we know that teams are going to be desperate to
try and land Caleb Williams, then you know we could
bring back a big haul of draft picks. But you

(28:09):
still the problem with Kyler Murray is that you don't
really have a full season to see what he does
when he doesn't have a coach that was brought in
to design an offense around him. Because his coach is
gone and Kyler Murray's injured, so we don't know when
he's going to be ready to go or when he's
going to be ready to play this season.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
It's going to be several weeks at least.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
And then at that point, if you're so far back,
I just I look at him and I go, I
don't know that it makes sense, Like why would you
not want to just restart the franchise or start over
with a quarterback, reset the clock on a rookie deal,
as opposed to stay committed to a guy you gave
a long term contract to who's had all sorts of

(28:51):
baggage along the way, teammates who have had issues with him,
his study, habits, all the other things that came along
with it, if you've got an opportunity, need to really
restart the franchise and you can move on, and you
can do it with a Caleb Williams or Drake May,
to me, that makes the most sense here. So when
I saw the DeAndre Hopkins news, and although we expected it,
I just took a step back and said, also, Kyler

(29:12):
Murray's next, Like it just feels like it's only a
matter of time before they make the decision.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
Absolutely, absolutely now listen, I wouldn't base that so much
off of off of DeAndre Hopkins, but they do need weapons.
It's not like they don't needing right, It's not like
you're sending him away because you have a wealth of
talent at that position. But at the same time, if

(29:38):
you're feeling, if you're feeling that you need to get
rid of a player of DeAndre Hopkins caliber, even if
you don't feel he's still a number one receiver, if
you're feeling the need to get rid of him, chances
are one you just you know, like you you said,

(30:00):
you don't feel like he fits the culture of the
team and his talent isn't good enough to supersede that.
Like a guy like too, you're going to go for
as long as you can and then get rid of
them if you felt like you just couldn't couldn't handle
how big his personality was. But you know, in the

(30:20):
grand scheme of things, I don't think that that is
a clear indicator them getting rid of DeAndre Hopkins is
a clear indicator that they're not in on Kyler Murray.
I still think Kyler Murray has the opportunity to try
to solidify his position on that team. But I will
say this is the season for him to have.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
To do and there's no ties to him because everybody
that was there when they brought him in is gone.
So like Steve Kim is gone, Cliff's gone, Like, there's
no like, they don't really have ties to him other
than the contract, which could get in the way of
what their plans are.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
But yeah, I would agree with you.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
I think whatever playing time he gives you this year
is to try and showcase whether or not he's going
to be the guy long term. And if he sputters
or if it doesn't go well, I think they're going
to be sitting in a prime spot to try and
land Caleb Williams or Drake May. All right, so coming up,
we are going to tell you about one player in
the NFL, a multiple time All Pro, who was attacked

(31:23):
by a wolf before a game. We'll give you the
details on that next.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
Coming up in a little over ten minutes from now
from these tire rack dot com studios, somebody in the
NFL has a take and opinion on a very controversial
topic in the league that I think a lot of
people are going to find surprising, including you. So we'll
get into that for you here in a little over

(32:35):
ten minutes from now here on.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
Fso you as in are listening, yes, yes.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
And I would say this you as well, LeVar. I
think this is going to surprise you.

the topic You're not going to surprise me, sir.

sports or entertainment. Good thing the guys are here to
bring you in case you missed.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
It, and for that we do turn it over to
our executive producer the one and only lead Digital Lap.

Speaker 7 (34:04):
Good morning Fellas, Good morning Jonas, Good morning LeVar. In
case you missed this, on a recent episode of.

Speaker 4 (34:11):
That Lap, That.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
Lap, Yes, Sir.

Speaker 7 (34:15):
On a recent episode of What's called the steal Here podcast,
steel Spelled ste l Hey, Jonas, Hey, LeVar h former
Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell was asked to talk about, uh,
the marijuana policy in the NFL compared to when he
played to Now, obviously, he was arrested and suspended two
games for having marijuana on him, and he had talked

(34:37):
about smoking marijuana before games, including some of his biggest
games in his career one hundred and fifty yards two
touchdowns in certain games. So yeah, Le'Veon Bell, as you
would say, Jonas attacked by the green Wolf before a
few games.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
Hey, multiple time, all pro. Now I want to know
was because remember he got popped.

Speaker 4 (34:54):
It is not as fun as if it was a
real wolf.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
But all right, late, listen, you know the greenwolf gets
everybody from time.

Speaker 4 (35:02):
That that was a very deceptive tease, very very deceptive.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Indeed, I'll say this though, if you were going to
get caught in a car smoking weed, the most appropriate
name to be in that car with you is La
Garrett blind.

Speaker 2 (35:15):
That's true, Like that does very true. That does make
a lot of sense.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
And so my next question would be if he was
smoking weed before games so far? You know the Pittsburgh area,
what are we talking about here? Did you like sneak
away to Carson Street over by fatheads and marios and
just pipe one down and then fill.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
The stadium's on the north shore, because on the north.

Speaker 4 (35:39):
Side of Pittsburgh, you're you're if you're downtown, like if
you're on Carson anywhere downtown that is a tourism era area,
that's all.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
That's also where Darrell Reavers will beat the hell out
of somebody.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
That's well, I mean that's because pitt is on that side.
Pitt is an Oakley, which is you know, that's that's
right next to downtown. But the Steelers, the Steelers are
on there across the bridge, you know what I mean?
And and what would make sense is for them to
go to two minutes up the block and be in Manchester.

(36:14):
Shots out to the hood, Nike Town, What up?

Speaker 5 (36:17):
What up?

Speaker 4 (36:17):
Nike Town? You know what up? Right now? What we'll
snap like anyway, uh, Manchester, wouldn't nobody bother. In fact,
they'd be able to re up. They wouldn't even have
to smoke their own weed. There'd be so many people
sitting there a puff puff pass it with them. They
be good, all right.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
So how often when you were playing, did people, uh,
you know, take a little bit of the hippie letters
in before a game kicked off.

Speaker 4 (36:45):
I've heard of dudes taking drinks, drinking Hennessy before games.
I've heard a guy smoking, I've heard I've heard different things,
different drugs other than those.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
You seen.

Speaker 5 (36:58):
I've never seen it.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
I've never seen and I've never If you're insinuating, have
I ever tried that, I've never. I've never tried anything
of that sort while I was an active player. So
now I might smoke before going to see one of
my kids play. I might do the green Wolf before
I go see one of my kids play. But but

(37:22):
as to doing it when I played, I didn't. I
didn't partake in that.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
Hey, listen, that wolf will pop up anywhere.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
You never know, you howling.
