Today on 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe, Jonas is disappointed by the lack of drama between Stefon Diggs and the Bills. Jordan Love makes a fool of himself trying to clown on Bears fans and Russell Wilson looks lean in his offseason workout video, but fitness and work ethic have never been the problem with Russ. Bradley Beal gets traded to the Suns, resulting in more criticism for Kevin Durant. Plus, Bob Huggins gets a graceful exit despite being arrested for a DUI.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the best of two pros and a couple
of Joe with Lamar Arings, Brady Winn and Jonas Knox
on Box Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
This is really disappointing. What a what a disappointing conclusion
to an NFL story, Like all the ingredients were there, man, Like,
you had everything there and it felt like God gonna
get another banger, you know, like Ano. Another juicy NFL topic.

(00:33):
Kind of reminds me of True Detective season two. Man,
if you saw season one with Matthew McConaughey Woody Harrelson,
one of the great television shows of all time, one
of my favorite television shows of all time. Fantastic, the
entire thing, the drama, the acting, everything just brilliant, and

(00:55):
it was so good. They rolled out season two and
you we've had stars in that, Colin Ferrell, Vince Vaughn,
Rachel McAdams, and then you got about two or three
episodes in and he went, this sucks like just a
giant letdown. All the anticipation, all the hype, all the

(01:18):
build up, and then you rolled out that and it's like, man,
so like, what was all the excitement for? And we
got a little bit of that in the NFL, apparently
on a story that we have been monitoring and tracking
for what feels like months now, especially.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
On this show. Here, two pros and a cup of Joe.
So the Buffalo Bills have a problem.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
And it's not so much the fact that they're clearly
number three in the AFC, next to Kansas City and Cincinnati.
And it's not even the fact that the Cincinnati Bengals
took everything from them like they did in that playoff game.
I mean, they beat him into submission and then they
had a you know, a player fighting with another player

(02:05):
on the sidelines, and then that player stormed out, and
that Stefan Digg's story has carried for months, so much
so that when he did show up to mandatory mini camp,
you at his quarterback Josh Allen have to step up

(02:25):
to the mic and talk about his relationship with Stefon
Diggs and how he felt about Stefan Diggs and what
Stefan Diggs means to the offense and to the team.
I mean, if you don't believe me, take a listen.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Internally, we're working on some things not football related, but
you Steph, he's my guy, My love him.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
He's a brother of mine.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
We wish he was in here today and he was
out there and fill with us, and that's that's not
the case.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
But I've got his back no matter what I mean.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
And away and dude, I mean, once he's resting all
the way in, he's gonna be all the way in.
And he's a fiery competitor and at the end of day,
he wants to win. This team wants to win. And
may No said, but he's a Buffalo bill and you know,
why are you working out?

Speaker 2 (03:11):
I mean that that right there sounds like, oh, there's
something else going on. There's something going on. I mean,
Sean McDermott's got to come up with well, you know,
he was not here and I was very concerned. You
had Stefan Diggs's agent bite back at some of those
reports say well, no, listen, he was here, he took
his physical you know, he left before practice on Tuesday.

(03:33):
Last Tuesday, Stefan Diggs went to social media another cryptic
post talking about somebody tell him lies to make himself
feel better. Not the first time he's had some cryptic
posts this offseason. Sean McDermott had to come back and say, well, no,
he was here and he did everything, and then and
then they just called off mini camp early just to said,

(03:54):
you know, we're gonna send everybody home.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Like like all of it was there.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
All the ingredients for some really good drama in the NFL,
like maybe a scandal, like maybe something we would be
talking about for years, teammates fighting, like all of the
ingredients were there. And then this report from Ben Vollen
of the Boston Globe comes out that says Stefon Diggs

(04:21):
and his issue with the Bills is due to his
frustration with his role in the offense and play calling,
and that he may have just not connected as well
with new offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey like he did with
Brian day Ball Neat, that's sweet. You need to tell
me all of that build up, all that hype. We
had months worth of drama and the guy's complaining about

(04:44):
his role in the offense. I mean, we couldn't get
like a fight in the locker room, somebody's sleeping with
somebody's wife, somebody like, we couldn't get anything like no
real juicy story.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
This is what we got. That's what all the build
up was for.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
I mean we've been waiting around for how long for
the return of true Detective. They roll out that bag
of crap and the Bills give us that. That's what
this was about. Months of this, not even a contract,
not even he went to go cash a check and
it bounced. Nothing, not even one of his teammates as

(05:25):
a degenerate gambler and bet on Stefan Diggs under receptions
in the playoff game. Nothing. It's his role in the
offense a giant letdown. Now, it doesn't eliminate the fact
that it goes back to the original point, which is
the Buffalo Bills are clearly a step back of Cincinnati

(05:48):
and Kansas City and the AFC. Now, I don't even
think that's disputable. And whatever happened in that playoff game
that led to this, and there's some conversations going on
on that really this happened towards the back end of
last season. Stefan Diggs was off to one of the
best starts of his career, and then, like the final

(06:08):
few games of the regular season, everything just started to
go downhill. And he wasn't getting used as much, and
he wasn't as productive, and he wasn't and they didn't
go to him as much. You know, they had a
handful of catches in the playoff game and all the
other things that.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
It's like.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
We talked to Albert Breer last week about it and
he made the point, and he's right. If you go
back to last season with the Bills, man, things were
all over the place. First of all, the expectations were
completely out of whack. They were the favorite to win
the Super Bowl going into the year, and then they
opened up the year at the Rams and hammered the

(06:43):
Rams on National TV. Sean McVay was heard ripping his
team afterwards and all that. And you looked at that
game and you said, eight, that was the Super Bowl champs.
They just did that too. And then you saw what
the Rams turned out to be that year, and you realize, eh,
you know, not a really good team. Kind of puts
into perspective how impressive the win was Week one for
the Bills in Josh Allen, But that's how you started

(07:06):
out the year. And then you had a really tough
game against Miami in which Ken Dorsey threw his laptop
down and exploded in the press box and all that.
But it felt like, hey, tough loss in Miami, dealing
with the humidity early in the year. But that's a
team you're gonna have to deal with. And then they
got displaced because all the storms that happened last year,

(07:28):
the Damar Hamlin stuff that took place, Like the Bills
had a lot going on. Also, Josh Allen hurt his elbow.
Von Miller got injured. There was a lot going on
with the Buffalo Bills. And then you get to the
playoff game and Stefan Diggs as a meltdown and they
get completely annihilated by the Cincinnati Bengals. It's like there

(07:52):
was a lot happening in Buffalo last year, and we
talked about it, like you could say whatever you want
about well, you know the condition, and you know there
was you know, a player for the Bills that talked about, well,
you know if if we if we had a dome,
it would have been a different get Well, you don't
have a dome. It's like, I don't have to tell you.
That's like me saying, man, if I was seven feet tall,

(08:13):
i'd be playing in the NBA. Okay, And then God
stepped in and said, tough balls. You're gonna get what
you get. Have fun doing radio and being bad at sports.
When you're younger, that's your life. Have fun with that
figured out. It's so it's like like there was a
lot that was going against the Buffalo Bills, and then
you saw the Stefan Diggs melt down and it felt like, look,

(08:34):
we got ourselves a scandal here. We're gonna get some
dirt on the organization. There's gonna be some stuff coming out.
Maybe him and Josh Allen aren't really good friends. Like
all of that was there, all the ingredients were there,
everything was represented, and instead it's some guy unhappy about
the offense.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
What a bummer.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington and
Jonas Knox week days. It's am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
So if you miss the big story out of the
NFL over the weekend, well, one of the big stories
out of the NFL over the weekend, huge, huge, huge
win for the Chicago Bears. Jordan loved the brand new
quarterback of the Green Bay Packers. Jordan Love went ahead

(09:26):
and decided he was going to go say Happy Father's
Day to the Chicago Bears. I mean, you can even
listen to it here. Pretty interesting.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Happy Father's Day to audit Bears fans out there.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Go back go. And so Jordan Love mentions Happy Father's
Day to the Bears, which sounds kind of dumb. I
think he realized it was kind of dumb. That's why
the tweet was then deleted, because he realized what he
was acknowledging is that the Bears are his dad, and
it just the whole thing's goofy. It's one of these
goofy off season NFL storylines, but nonetheless it does mark,

(09:59):
you know, the first time and at least thirty years
where the Bears feel like they have an advantage at
quarterback over the Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
So that's something, all right.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
So you take what you can take there, and both
those teams open up Week one of the season, which
is going to be a lot of fun. So Jordan
Love already throwing, so you know, a little bit of
a little bit of something on the rivalry here now
that he's taken over as the Packers quarterback, and so
we get to watch that all play out Week one
of the season coming up, where the Bears are already
a two and a half point favorite courtesy of our

(10:27):
friends on Draftking. So there's all that fun stuff going
on when it comes to Jordan Love. But speaking of
off seasons for NFL quarterbacks, apparently there's a lot of optimism,
not only in Chicago for their quarterback situation, but apparently
there's some optimism for the Denver Broncos. There was a

(10:48):
video that was posted where Russell Wilson is working out
and people notice that he looks a lot leaner than
last year. Really been putting in the work man, really
grinding away that Russell Wilson, he's putting in that work
and in much better shape than he was last year.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
None of it matters. It just doesn't.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Russell Wilson's in a spot to where it doesn't matter
what he does in the offseason. Nobody really cares. They
start keeping score once you get to the regular season.
That's where it's at. Like it's the same thing with
Tua Tagobailoa and the helmet stuff. He's got this new
protective helmet to help him with concussions. He took judo

(11:38):
classes that his coach in between vapes thought were jiu jitsu.
Neither one of them could get on the same page
as to what form of martial art he was actually taking,
But apparently that's the move when it comes to I
want to prepare myself to be able to take hits
in the NFL next season and not have to worry

(11:59):
about concussion and that too. Much like Russell Wilson's leaner physique,
None of it matters because both those guys are going
to be judged what happens in the season. You could
say the same for basically every player in the NFL,
but these two in particular. That absolutely holds true here.

(12:20):
Like when I watched Russell Wilson last year, I didn't
look at him and go, oh, you know what the
problem is, he's fat. I never thought that, And in fact,
a lot of people look at Russell Wilson and say
he's got to have a bulkier physique because he is
an undersized quarterback. Like that was one of the I

(12:41):
guess bright spots to Bryce Young when he came into
the NFL. People looked at Bryce Young when he got
through the draft process and all that, and they said, well,
when he measured in, he actually was a lot heavier
than we realized because he was listed at one to
ninety five and he weighed in at two oh four
and they said, man, that's right around where Russell Wilson was,

(13:03):
or Kyler Murray or some of these other guys. So
you look at him and you go, okay, undersized quarterback.
You wanted to be a little bit bulkier. So like
Russell Wilson's physique was not the problem. It was all
the other stuff that happened last year surrounding Russell Wilson.
It was all the drama, his own office, his own
parking space, the lame ass subway commercially did with the

(13:26):
danger witch, which by the way, I have not seen
a danger witch. I haven't been to a subway recently.
But if your acting is so bad that you completely
eliminate a food item from a menu across the country,
that's saying something. Because there's a lot of bad actors

(13:46):
out there, and a lot of bad actors I don't
know many of them that completely wipe out and make
a food item go extinct, and Russell Wilson kind of
accomplished that. So if that's the case, do what you
gotta do. But that was part of the stuff that
was going wrong with Russell Wilson last year. It wasn't
his physique, and nobody questioned his work ethic. Ever, he's

(14:11):
always been credited as being one of the hardest workers
in the NFL, so much so that even when he's injured,
the guy goes through the two minute offense at lambeau
Field with a cast on his hand and nobody around.
Does that strike you as somebody doesn't work hard in
the offseason. He even practiced handshakes when he walked out

(14:34):
to training camp last year.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Does that strike you as somebody doesn't work hard? So
I don't look at.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Russell Wilson and say, man, he's got to work harder
in the off season, and he's got to get leaner,
and he's got to work on his physique. Nobody cares
about any of that stuff. All that matters is when
the season rolls around, is he gonna play better and
he's gonna Is he gonna play better with Sean Payton?
And are those two gonna be, you know, on the
same page in trying to to turn around this organization

(15:02):
because they invested a lot, not only to get him,
but they invested a lot in this offseason. Hacket's gone,
so like you can You can point to a scapegoat
all you want and say, well, Nathaniel Hackett and you
know he was inexperience and his decision making starting week one,
and all, okay, well that scapegoat's gone. So if they

(15:24):
struggle again, you're gonna blame it on Sean Payton. Guy's
got a super Bowl so like all like all this,
like he's leaner now, and the hashtags and all, like,
none of it matters. It's all about when he gets
into the season. That's all anybody cares about. Like there
are other quarterbacks around the NFL where you look for
signs of optimism during the off season. You want to

(15:45):
see it. How are they growing, how are they developing?
We mentioned justin fields, like justin fields, Like all the
reports are he's developing this and this, and you know
he can athletically, he can do it, so you feel
good about that. Like off season reports not all you
don't just miss all of them. And you could paint
it with a broad brush and say, well, none of
it matters. The only thing that matters is the regular season.

(16:06):
But in these two situations, that's absolutely the case. In
the subject of Russell Wilson and Tuataga Iiloa. Like for
two A Tugailoa. It doesn't matter whether or not he
took judo, jiu jitsu, like I mean, like mma, training

(16:27):
in full boxing, taekwon do. None of it matters until
he actually takes a hit in a game and can
get up and doesn't see stars. That's why I wonder
how long this lasts with Tua. Do we wait until
everybody calms down and after a year everything's fine, the

(16:48):
concussions can come out to play again. Because the idea
that you think two is never going to suffer another
concussion the rest of his career is kind of a
crazy thought. Let's say he plays another ten years. I
think he's going to go ten years without taking a ding.
So when it happens again two years from now for
the first time, is it cause for concern again? Like

(17:11):
the thing with Tua is now you wonder is he
suceptible to it? Same with Kenny Pickett. So like all
the practice helmets and all the training and everything that
came along with it, Like all of that's awesome, but
it doesn't matter if he gets to week one of
the season and he gets sacked and drugged down again

(17:32):
and he hits the back of his head on the turf,
which has been the problem. So when it comes to
Russell Wilson, when it comes to Tua, all this off
season preparation and the things that they're doing, like nobody's
questioning any of that stuff. It's about what happens when
the season starts and whether or not they can recover
or rebound off what the issues were last year, And

(17:54):
Russell Wilson's case, it was bad play and weird behavior,
and in Tua's case, it was concussion. So we wait
till the regular season to find out.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
And Ridge give me the hell.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yeah, there was a deal done in the world of
sports over the weekend. And this is going to be phenomenal,
absolutely phenomenal for somebody who, in my mind is one
of the great villains in the world of sports over
the past several years. So the NBA pulled off a trade.

(19:13):
And by the NBA, I mean the Washington Wizards, who decided,
you know what, we're gonna go ahead and get rid
of Bradley Beal. I mean we just gave him like
a five year, two hundred and fifty million dollar contract.
He played one year of it, but it's time we're
gonna go ahead and get rid of Bradley Beal. So
the Washington Wizards trade Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns.
Now part of the deal in return is Chris Paul

(19:35):
and you know Landry Sham, Like, oh, there's a bunch
of second rounders. The main name in the deal is
Bradley Beal, and so Bradley Beal now becomes a Phoenix
Sun and they form this new Big Three. Now, whether
or not Big Three is actually work anymore, it seems
like it's goind of past its time. But you're gonna
get Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. And

(19:57):
with the salary cap structure and the and the CBA
and all that stuff, you're probably gonna have to find
some people that play for lower minimum deals and their
benches could be an issue, and they could be a
little bit thin when it comes to that. But point is,
Bradley Beal's now Phoenix Sun. And this is great for
Bradley Beal. It's great. Gets out of Washington, goes to Phoenix.

(20:21):
He's going to be on a playoff team. He's going
to be on a team that's going to contend. He's
gonna be on the team that's going to be one
of the favorites to win it all next year. Good
for Bradley Beal, gets out of the mess that was Washington,
had been there quite some time, finally gets to go
and play for a legitimate winner in the NBA. But
it's great for Kevin Durant.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
As well too.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Oh, this is great for Kevin Durant, and I hope
it works out phenomenally for Kevin Durant.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
And here's why.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
The amount of heat that Kevin Durant has gotten at
every turn in his career doing things at every one
of you would do, or just having bad luck, like,
the amount of heat that he's gotten for all of
that is something to behold.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
And nobody really.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Takes a step back and looks at what they're saying
when they're critical of Kevin Durant, Like nobody really just
takes a step back and goes, you know, if I
was in his shoes, I get it. So he leaves
Oklahoma City, right, people could? I mean people were furious.
How could you do that? How could you leave Oklahoma City?
How could you leave them to go play for the

(21:34):
Golden State Warriors? How dare you? First of all, it
ain't like he really forced his way out. He had
an opportunity. Golden State called him up, said hey, would
you like to play for us? He wanted to go
try and win a championship, So he went and played
for Golden State. Yeah, but you can't do that. That's
a team that eliminated them, So what who cares. That's

(21:59):
like saying you're never going to buy a Toyota because
the last one you saw cut you off in traffic.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Who cares? What do you care? He had an opportunity.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
He wanted to go play for Golden State and win
an NBA championship, and he did it. And by the way,
when he does go win a couple of championships, everybody
discredited it.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
So let me get this straight.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
He's not a complete player and he's not as good
as other players because he doesn't have a championship ring.
So then he goes and gets championship rings and it's
still not good enough. Okay, I'm just keeping score here.
I just want to know what we're looking at. Just
trying to keep score on all this. So then he
leaves Golden State. Oh well, he's just hopping around. Oh no,

(22:45):
he's just going from team to team. Okay, Well, the
place that he was at kind of didn't want him anymore.
Draymond Green. You know, if you believe some of the
reports out there called him a bitch on the sidelines,
you know, maybe that was fighting words for Kevin Durant.
Maybe he didn't want to be there anymore. Now it

(23:06):
could be worse than that. They had a little bit
of an outburst and altercation all that stuff. He decided
he wanted to go elsewhere. Okay, so he wanted to
go elsewhere. The place may or may not have wanted
him anymore. He didn't feel welcomed there. I don't know
about you, but if I go someplace, I don't feel
welcomed or I'm not wanted, I'm leaving.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Like I didn't say what's supposed.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
To do, like lay around in crap and then spray
cologne on afterwards. No, you get the hell out of there.
I don't want to roll around in this. So he
didn't want to be there anymore, so he left. So
he leaves Golden State. He gets to Brooklyn and everything's
a disaster. He was injured when he got there.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
You know that.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
I don't know if anybody remembers COVID that kind of shut
everything down and changed plans for a lot of people.
I mean, I know a lot of people that were
planning on vacations. I happen to know some people. This
guy right here pointing at myself, who were trying to
plan for a wedding and also plan for a honeymoon.
Next thing, you know, I'm standing in line with a

(24:10):
mask on trying to buy a one play toilet paper
and frozen pizzas. It got the best of us. Okay,
weird time. So he goes through all that, he transitions.
Oh and then he's got Kyrie Irving, and Kyrie Irvings's
usual pain in the ass. He's got his COVID beliefs.
There's all that stuff, you know, And then there's Kevin
Durant's health. You know, James Harden was there, you know,

(24:36):
if his foot was behind the line, and the series
against Milwaukee, maybe the Brooklyn Nets win that series, they
go to seven games. Kyrie Irving's not available for that,
like all that stuff.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
You know.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
It just like a lot of things just didn't work out.
Bad luck, COVID health, all that stuff. Bad luck just
didn't work out. But it didn't work out for a
lot of us during that time. And so then Kevin
Durant gets to Phoenix.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
I was like, oh, here he goes. He's not not happy.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
There wasn't happy in Oklahoma City, wasn't happening in Golden State.
Wasn't happy in Brooklyn? Is he ever going to be happy?
He gets to Phoenix. First time he goes to play
for Phoenix, in a layup line, he rolls his ankle
and there are people making jokes about it. It's like, dude,

(25:23):
what he deserved that? Because he got traded to Phoenix.
He deserved it, Okay, Apparently, so the next time you
decide you don't want to be somewhere, I hope you
roll your ankle. That's that punishment is suffice for somebody
who doesn't want to be anywhere anymore in the NBA, apparently,
according to people. When it comes to Kevin Durant and

(25:43):
now he goes someplace else, he gets another star. It's
Bradley Beal, a little bit of a you know, maybe
a down couple of years. He's dealt with some health issues.
He's twenty nine years old now, but nonetheless great player
and those three together are going to be fun to watch,
going to be favorites to win it all, and they
should be. But it's like at every turn he never

(26:07):
gets a break. Like even when Durant goes on Twitter,
people complain because he bites back at Twitter users that
are that are taking shots at him. Well, he should
be bigger than that. Have you seen your interactions on Twitter?
Like I've caught strays on Twitter between arguments between people

(26:29):
here at the network or people outside of the network,
and they're arguing about politics, And I'm like, what have
I got to do with all this? I've seen your
behavior on Twitter. So he's got a couple of burner accounts.
Who cares? Guy can't make a burner account, can't make
some sort of a parody account. At least he owned it.
You know how many people lie about burner accounts. Brady

(26:49):
Quinn's been accusing me having burner accounts for years. Never
had one. So not only do people lie about having them,
they lie about who has them.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Kevin Durant has him and says, yeah, I got him
right here, I do right here.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
You had an NBA official who had a burner account,
and then his brother had to fall on the sword
and say no, that was me.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
He had nothing to do with it.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
The seventy six ers had to fire a front office
guy because he had a burner account. Everybody's playing the
mysterious burner account game. Kevin Durant's like, no, I got
one right over here.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
I'll argue with you on the burner account and on
my own account, and if you don't like it, you
can kiss my ass. I hope this works out splendidly
for Kevin Durant. I hope the Suns win it all
next year. I hope he's the best player in the
finals again like he was the two times he won it.
I hope it works out for Kevin Durant just so
he can stick it to everybody who's been busting his

(27:42):
balls for either doing the same things you would all
do or having the same bad luck you all had
over the past couple of years. Good for Kevin Durant,
love the deal for the Phoenix Suns. Two pros and
a cup of Joe here on FSR coming up in
we'll call it fifteen minutes from now in another edition
of a case you missed it, did? We have some
cheating in the world of sports over the weekend. There's

(28:06):
the thought that there was some cheating going on. We
will get into that for you again fifteen minutes from
now here on the from thetiraq dot Com studios. So
there are some people who no matter what. They just
continue to get gifts. You know, they just get all
the breaks, all of them all right, like you know,
maybe uh, you know, they win the lotto, Like there

(28:27):
was a report that some lady won the lotto and
then won it again. She's won it like twice. I mean,
at some point like why don't you share the wealth?
Why don't you not play anymore? Make it fair for
everybody else. But there are some people that just they
continue to get gifts no matter what, even when they're
not deserving of gifts. Stuff just get they just falls
right in their lap. And then other people out there
that have no luck whatsoever. Now I'm one of those

(28:49):
people when it comes to, especially on sports betting, zero
luck whatsoever. Like if I'm betting on a horse race,
that's the race where the horse will lay down and decide, yeah,
I don't want to do this anymore. He could he
could have a three length lead with like twenty feet
to go, and that horse would lay down on the

(29:09):
track and just say, you know, I'm tired of this
guy on my back. I don't want to do this anymore.
Would somebody get this garden him off my back? I'm
not doing this and I'm especially not doing this just
so I could go get paid by sex for the
rest of my life and then have somebody wrapped flowers
around my neck like at some prize that would be
the horse that I bet on. Some people just don't
have any luck, and I'm one of those people when
it comes to sports betting. And then there's other people who,

(29:30):
no matter what, it's gift after gift after gift. And
apparently that's somebody is Bob Huggins. Now, I don't know
if you're aware of this. Bob Huggins was in the
news recently. A couple of months ago. He was on
Cincinnati radio and Bob Huggins made some comments, some anti

(29:52):
gay slurs about Xavier basketball back when they were you know,
he was coaching Cincinnati, and yeah, that didn't go too well.
And the thought was, man, the fact that Bob Huggins
went on radio and Cincinnati and made those comments, even
though he's a West Virginia coach man, that might costume
his job.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
That was the thought.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
No, definitely not didn't cost him his job. In fact,
he apologized, the university stood by him, and it was like, wow,
so you mean people do get second chances, and then
you realize, well, maybe that wasn't the second chance for

(30:35):
Bob Huggins. And then you think, okay, well that's the
worst it's gonna get. Gonna be a quiet offseason. They're
just gonna get ready for West Virginia basketball coming up.
Maybe they got like Kevin Pittsnagle bobblehead night to start
out the year. Who knows, but it felt like we
are on our way to just focus on basketball. Lets

(30:57):
everybody get Bob Huggins out of the news. And then
Bob Huggins got a flat tire over the weekend, and
when police pulled him over, they realized, oh, side of
the cars all danged up, Bob Huggins isn't appears to

(31:17):
be a little bit kind of out of it. Then
he blows a point to one had beer cans all
over the inside of his car. And then when they
asked him, sir, where were you? Where are you right now?
We'd like we have a couple of questions for you.
He thought he was in Columbus, Ohio. He was not
in Columbus, Ohio. No, definitely not was That's not the case.

(31:42):
Bob Huggins was nowhere near Columbus, Ohio. But don't worry
about it. Bob Huggins is not the head coach of
West Virginia anymore because he got to resign. So even
on his third chance, he still gets the graceful exit. Like,
first of all, this isn't his DUI number one for

(32:03):
Bob Huggins. He got one in two thousand and four.
Now I've heard some details about that dui from dear
friend Andy Furman, who was in Cincinnati at the time,
and there's some stuff. Maybe Bob Huggins wasn't alone in
the car. I've just put it that way. Okay, just
putting it that way. But point is, he gets a
DUI back at oh four. He makes the comments on

(32:26):
Cincinnati radio a couple of months ago. Then he gets annihilated,
gets in his car, starts driving around, gets a flat
side of the car is all banged up. They realize
he's banged up two zero point two to one, banged
up beer cans all over the inside, and doesn't know
what city he's in or state and still gets to

(32:50):
resign gracefully. Like if you're West Virginia, wouldn't you say it? Listen,
we allowed you back, can we fire, you make it,
make it seem like there's some sort of a punishment here. Instead,
Bob Huggins just kind of moves on and he listen,
it's not the friendliest Waight exit. He's a Hall of Famer,
had a great career. Everything I've heard about the guy,
he seems like a good dude. The decision making a

(33:13):
little questionable, but everything I've heard seems like a good dude.
And you just look at it and go anybody else,
they would be fired. They would be ridiculed. Like probably
the last time, I actually credited West Virginia for sticking
by the guy. Obviously nobody supports what he said, but

(33:35):
the fact that they stuck by the guy and said, listen,
he made a mistake, second chances whatever, blah blah blah
blah blah, Listen, it's popular now to just cancel people.
That's the popular move. And West Virginia said, no, we're
going to take a different approach. He's gonna have to
pay like a million dollar, he's gonna have to get
back his salary, he's going to miss some time, but
we're going to stick by this guy because we believe
in second chances. And then a couple of months later,

(34:00):
he gets on the liver lube, gets behind the wheel
and starts playing bumper cars with beer cans in the
front seat.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
And still gets to resign. Unbelievable, Like the dui is
not the laughing matter.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
It's the fact that he gets to kind of peacefully
go on and then we just you know, that's the
end of Bob Huggins. But you know what he Listen,
what's gonna happen next. He's gonna coach some D two
team in a couple of years. Wants to get the
itch and go back into coaching, and it'll be welcome
to man. You remember Rick Patino. Rick Patino was I mean,

(34:38):
you talk about a guy who was vilified. I mean,
whether it was prostitutes allegedly that were brought to the
schools one of the perks for some of his players.
Maybe you know he had an affair at an Italian
restaurant afterwards, which I don't know about. You made me
rethink whether or not I wanted the breadsticks of Buca Debeppo.

(34:59):
Now that I know where that takes, I'm not saying
it's book of bebo. It's the only Italian restaurant I know,
all right, Sorry, I'm not cultured enough.

Speaker 3 (35:05):
We don't have a lot of those out here where
I live.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
The point is, that was Rick Pattino, and now he's
throwing out the first pitch at the Mets game.

Speaker 3 (35:17):
I thought he got prostitutes for people. The thing is,
the whole thing's amazing.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
And so Bob Huggins, apparently, after his second dy and
second issue publicly in which he embarrassed the program in
a couple of months, gets to gracefully leave, which is
yet another example that some people just get breaks that
other people don't.
