Parties you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Read one they like in this is it in Shiam?
Hold on six? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (00:44):
And wont was he trying to cruise down the avenues
seeing cowboys and booldoodoo?
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (00:53):
Straight from Paris, straight from straight from try yea yeah
hurt Yeah, huh yeah yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:05):
By the way, Uh do they serve LeVar Islands in
Cheyenne is out there?
Speaker 7 (01:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
I was, Yeah, I was on Long Islands last year.
Speaker 6 (01:16):
Yeah, you had you had one in Roswell? I figure,
why not in Cheyennewell?
Speaker 4 (01:20):
Yeah, where's Roswell?
Speaker 3 (01:23):
That's right? I was there.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
I was there, and that was that was That might
be one of the strongest I've had. They would only
give you a two too long LeVar Island minimum. You
could only get two and then you had to switch
to a different drink. They would not give you anymore.
Speaker 8 (01:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:41):
Well, I mean, listen, they they do parades celebrating aliens.
It's a different world.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
And I was there during during that time. Yeah, like
they really celebrate aliens. They really have a McDonald's that
is like a mother ship flying saucer. They have aliens
that are like in their signage and real like figures
(02:07):
of the aliens. It was just aliens everywhere. And then
to find out that I was there during the alien parade,
it was well, to say the least, a lot of
aliens out all right, I'm just gonna ask it, do
you believe in aliens? And we can go around the route.
(02:29):
I don't see why not. I really don't see why not.
I mean to think there may be there may be
a level of intelligence living somewhere else that are sitting there,
Like I wonder if there's any type of life forms
that are out there somewhere else doing the same exact
thing we're doing.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
But you know why not, there.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Might be another earth somewhere else that we don't even
know about. And that's life is taking place on their
earth the same way it's taking place on ours.
Speaker 9 (02:58):
Like, who knows, some people would say that's like a
different dimension or a different reality, right, Aliens.
Speaker 6 (03:05):
I don't believe what we've been told for years and
years that they're these little creatures that pop up and
you know they Yeah, Like, I don't don't. I don't
believe any of that, whether it's early artificial intelligence or
whatever the case may be. There's just way too many
of these advanced objects flying around that we've got actual
(03:26):
proof of people that have no agenda whatsoever, people that
their agenda would be the safety of us. You've got like,
you know, people on on the coast of San Diego,
off the coast of San Diego seeing these ships fly
in and out of water, like these navy you know,
pilots and everything. These they're they're not in. It's not
worth them and their careers to lie about this stuff.
(03:48):
And they've got it and we've seen video of it.
Speaker 9 (03:50):
So all right, if we get Lee and Sam involved
in this.
Speaker 6 (03:53):
Oh yeah, yeah, I believe in aliens.
Speaker 9 (03:56):
Yeah, I could see that absolutely. Actually, I don't even
know why I asked you automatically show yes, Sam, you're
in I mean you're from Iowas, you've probably seen some
crop circles.
Speaker 10 (04:05):
Oh yeah, I've not seen a crop circle. But when
I was like in third grade, I did a report
on close encounters and.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
The very one did you have one?
Speaker 6 (04:15):
No? No, just like what a close encounter?
Speaker 10 (04:17):
The first, second, and third kind.
Speaker 6 (04:18):
Are he's got a close encounter or the bad football
team as whole.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
That's not true. No, that's not true. You watch your mouth, Jonas, not.
Speaker 6 (04:26):
Watch your mouth.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
Yeah, but encounter in my restroom this morning with the show. Yeah,
but there was a few flying objects and then UFOs
and that that scenario.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Yeah, what did you eat? So Sam?
Speaker 9 (04:43):
Wait, being that you're from Iowa, you've never seen crop
circles or like none of your friends were like, oh yeah, man,
there's this weird design out in the cornfields.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
All just bs.
Speaker 6 (04:51):
I mean the crop circle thing.
Speaker 10 (04:53):
I saw a documentary on how they make them, like
by hand. I don't think that those are actually UFO related.
I think those are just something.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
Yeah you have tom from the sky.
Speaker 6 (05:08):
Yeah yeah you do.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
See.
Speaker 10 (05:09):
Yeah, you like you stand on a board and you
have two ropes attached on each end and you just
walk over the corn and flatten it, and they're like, oh,
it's where a UFO landed and then took off again,
or you know, it's like the burnmark whatever. But there's
actually people who have evidence of maybe like a UFO
landing and there's like scorched earth underneath, and maybe that's something.
Speaker 6 (05:28):
To tell moment of contact. Watch it. I try to
tell you the documentary. It's incredible of that crash landing
in Brazil. I'm telling you, wash Itiver's up my spine.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Is that like country graffiti? Like what you were? That's
the version of That's the version of it. When you're
in a small town you're set tripping.
Speaker 10 (05:51):
You're not doing that to your own crops because it
ruins your your corn.
Speaker 6 (05:55):
Because a silo is spray paint proof, so you got
to do something else. You gotta put crops.
Speaker 9 (06:02):
Plus yeah, I mean we can't waste any corn.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
I feel like croporn.
Speaker 10 (06:06):
Crop circles are a little easier where you're growing different
kinds of grain, right, Like we weed, yeah, we kind
of yeah, you say weed?
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Are you saying wheat? Wheat? Okay?
Speaker 11 (06:18):
We too? Though it works weed. I bet you there
are some real nice weed field tonight.
Speaker 9 (06:31):
Someone tried to burn some down, like entire Earth, thinking
they could get a high off that.
Speaker 6 (06:38):
This man, let's not waste any time here, Eddie, you
believe crop circles or aliens?
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Uh?
Speaker 12 (06:46):
Yeah, I think I find it hard to believe that
we're the only thing in the entire universe that's that's
that's alive. I mean, I just got to think there's
something else out there.
Speaker 9 (06:55):
Is there the potential chance that whatever, if there is
something else out there, that we will just be severely disappointed.
Like I think this idea, it's like the Predator or
something like, it's this badass aliens going.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
To kill us all. They're always.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
They're always higher intelligence than us, you know, it's like
they're always knocking us up, like we're like inferior beings
to aliens.
Speaker 9 (07:17):
Like yeah, like maybe we're the superior ones, right, Like
ELO's trying to, you know, live on Mars at this point,
Like what I was if like we meet him more
like oh, this is disappointing, Like they're way behind.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Us, just punch it in the face.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
Maybe they're just really really anti social, like man, this
did that's.
Speaker 12 (07:35):
A close encounter.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Chris Rock. We're talking about Chris Rock.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
That that that hand was definitely a UFO to Chris
Rock's face.
Speaker 12 (07:50):
I think Adam Silver is a space alien.
Speaker 6 (07:53):
Oh yeah. I mean there's a lot of a lot
of you know, comparables there between him and what we've
seen for sure. Okay, Adam Silver, why would he be
one looks like on yeah, or at least a drawings.
Speaker 12 (08:09):
I can't help it looking that's how he looks.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Am. He's the NBA commissioner.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Yeah, it's like man in Black can't remember who he was.
He is a human like well, he looks like he
could be like on Adams Family.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
But I won't go as far as it's not a
role you want to play if you come to Earth.
The NBA commissioner.
Speaker 6 (08:32):
Aler the butt from like a.
Speaker 12 (08:37):
Good way to infiltrate us by you know, can you
imagine it?
Speaker 9 (08:40):
Reporting back, He's like, yeah, much, what language do they speak?
Speaker 3 (08:47):
You know? That's why they're losing ratings? Out of touch?
Speaker 6 (08:53):
Adam Silver is like, all right, so here's what we got.
He calls over to the Mothership and says, apparently guys
refuse to play more than sixty games in a season,
and they're making three hundred million dollars on their contract.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Yeah, we have aliens can't figure out load management.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
That fun down there, buddy, We're going to crash land
in Brazil.
Speaker 12 (09:14):
And uh he's also saying watch out for this Kyrie
irving guy's on us.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
Yeah, maybe that's why Kyrie gets suspended. It's not as
COVID beliefs. It's uh, you know, he's going against aliens.
Speaker 9 (09:28):
That's an interesting one.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
That's what the one that the aliens are targeting.
Speaker 6 (09:35):
That could be that could be it. You know why
I think that aliens are inferior though, because they fly
around in spaceships and they don't have vehicles that have
tire rack tires Like that's what I think they're inferior.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
And speaking of which they did.
Speaker 6 (09:47):
I mean, but I mean, you know, if they did,
and if they did have a radio show, that they
should be Yeah, they should be sponsored by tire rack
because we are and we're broadcasting live from the ti
rack dot com studios. Ti rack dot com. I'll help
you get there an unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free
road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire
rack dot com the way tire buying should be. So,
(10:10):
Nick Saban is he well no, he's not an alien,
oh okay, but greatest coach in the history of college football.
And he's got a little bit of a dilemma on
his hands, you know.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
A little as Yeah, well, he's got a red ass.
Speaker 6 (10:26):
You know, he missed the College Football Playoff for the
second time in its existence. You know, LSU beat him
last year and won the West. George is going for
a three peat. Bryce Young is now no longer a
member of the team, So he's got some options at quarterback.
He's got Ty Simpson, who's a red shirt freshman. He's
got Jalen Milroe, who's uh and they've been kind of
(10:46):
duking it out in the spring. And then he turned
to a former Golden Domer, Tyler Buckner, and trying to
pair him with offensive coordinator Tommy Reese, another Golden Domer.
Speaking of ty Rack and up in Indiana, and so
Nick Saban talked about the changes and his decisions at
quarterback this upcoming season.
Speaker 13 (11:07):
We have three guys that are competing for that position
right now. All those players are getting better, and it's
important for us that all those players get better. I
don't think anybody has actually separated themselves yet to this point,
and I don't think it's something that we're trying to rush.
I use the analogy earlier. You know, Grandma Saban used
(11:29):
to bake the best cakes in the world. And I
used to stand by the oven when I was a
kid and say, when's this cake going to be done?
When's this cake going to be done? And she said,
if I don't let it go through and take it
out of the oven too soon, it's going to turn
to much, so it won't.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Be a really good cake.
Speaker 13 (11:45):
So I think we got to let this sort of
develop and make sure we let the cake bake until
somebody separates themselves.
Speaker 6 (11:53):
All right, September second is when the cake needs to
be ready to eat. So who's going to be the
cake there, Brady Quinn.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
I don't know that it will be by then.
Speaker 9 (12:02):
I think it's really tough when you've got a three
quarterback competition going on into training camp and one of
the guys he wasn't a part of that in the spring,
Tyler Buckner, Right, he transferred after the spring in May.
He's now there, but you know, you don't have as
much experience watching him compete, seeing him play in the system. However,
(12:24):
he's there because he knows the system. You know, Tommy
Reese formerly the offensive coordinator Notre Dame, he's now the
offensive coordinator in Alabama. Nick Saban also talking about him
during the course of SEC media day, saying how he
thinks it's a really bright, young offensive mind. So you
can understand why he brought him there, and you can
understand why Tyler Buckner followed Tommy Reese there, because if
(12:45):
they didn't have this sorted out out of the spring,
you'd have to think that Tyler Buckner has the leg
up given that he transferred there. He knows the system,
He's got some starting experience, which is more than the
other two have. That being said, though, I think you're
gonna see a scenario where Jalen Milroe, who is such
an incredible talent, I don't know that they can not
(13:07):
keep him or have a package for him on the field.
So if I had to guess how this is going
to play out, Tyler Buckner's there for a reason. Smart kid,
He's got a lot of talent. If he can stay healthy,
he'll be able to help them. But I think Jalen
Milroe at the quarterback position in a package or mixing
in is also a possibility, and I think they look
(13:27):
at ty Simpson as being one of the guys in
the future.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
They really like him.
Speaker 9 (13:30):
I just I don't know if he's quite ready yet.
And especially in Tommy Reese's system, that if the quarterback's
able to handle it, he's gonna put.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
A lot on you.
Speaker 9 (13:38):
There's checks, there's things that you can get to with
in the offense to put you in the best possible play,
and that's what he's asking of these guys. So you know, again,
I think Buckter's got a leg up because he's already
been in the system and he's a sharp young man,
so he's going to be able to go in there
and execute. It's just about him developing a rapport with
the guys that he's throwing to and playing with.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
But but again.
Speaker 9 (14:01):
Because of Milroe's talent, I think you could see both
of them, especially early in the season as this whole
thing plays itself out.
Speaker 6 (14:08):
Should l s U be favored or should Alabama be
favored to win the West because they currently.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Who should be favored? I think you should be. Yeah,
they had a lot.
Speaker 6 (14:17):
Of guys come back, man, I mean it's kind of interesting. Well,
I'm just saying it's kind of interesting how the SEC
had to turn to Notre Dame to try and you know,
switch things up and heat up the SEC West a
little bit there, Brian Kelly, Well.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Don't say that.
Speaker 9 (14:33):
That'll upset That'll upset a lot of you know, SEC fans.
Speaker 6 (14:37):
I'm just saying, like, you know.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
A whole lot of families.
Speaker 9 (14:42):
Just you know, I'm just saying, like the SEC having
to take a head coach and OC and a quarterback
to to fill out. I mean, that will frustrate a
lot of SEC fans if you say that publicans.
Speaker 6 (14:53):
Now, we will any of those comments be brought up
to mark ingram on the set a big newon kickoff
at some point during the course of this year.
Speaker 9 (14:59):
We'll sales things go, you know, if things aren't going well,
I'm not sure you can you can utilize.
Speaker 6 (15:04):
That, but just ump nobody notices.
Speaker 9 (15:06):
I mean, if all said Alabama was the number one
team the country, You're like, you're welcome.
Speaker 6 (15:11):
So there there's how that turns. It is two pros
and a cup of Joe. Here on Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you coming up
next here from the tire rack dot Com Studios. We
are going to talk about some decisions that need to
be made in the NFL, the potential of it changing
the course of one team season, and we'll get that
(15:32):
from our NFL insider. That's next.
Speaker 7 (15:34):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 6 (15:48):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe here on Fox
Sports Radio coming up, and we'll call it a little
over twenty minutes from now. Somebody with some really strong
comments over a potential threat in the NFL. We'll have
that for you again coming up twenty minutes from now
here on FSR. But right now we turn it over
to the man himself, Albert Breer, Senior NFL reporter at
(16:08):
the MMQB. You can get him on Twitter at Albert Breer. Albert,
what's happening? Training camps are right around the corner. How
are we feeling?
Speaker 3 (16:15):
Yeah? Big? Oh uh?
Speaker 14 (16:17):
I guess I'm ready to go sort of.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (16:20):
I'm on the road on Monday, so by a few
days you seem sad, you know.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
I well, you know what seems said.
Speaker 15 (16:30):
I sure you guys look like to some degree, but
my summer like in the middle of July, so you know,
you talk to your friends and everything else, like yeah,
you know, like into August, we're gonna go away and
wrap summer up, and yeah, you just I guess our
chlendar is a little different than everybody else's, you know
what I mean?
Speaker 9 (16:50):
Yeah, Well, you could be like a running back and
having hard time, you know, doing any travel because you know.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
You're not, hey, yeah, or actually it might be time
to travel, might be flying frontier?
Speaker 6 (17:04):
Is the ten million dollars mean you're in the frontier range?
Is that what that means?
Speaker 8 (17:10):
I don't know if in places that bad?
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Guys?
Speaker 6 (17:13):
He pretty good, Albert. I got a question for you.
Just I'm curious because I'm a little confused on this
and hoping you can help me out. So did Saquon
Barkley get the exclusive or non exclusive?
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Meaning?
Speaker 6 (17:27):
Could he have negotiated a deal with somebody else? Could
Josh Jacobs have negotiated a deal with somebody else and
nobody stepped up to the table. And that's why they're
at where they're at with the Giants and the Raiders
both got the non.
Speaker 14 (17:41):
State tag and it could have you know, done deal elsewhere.
And I think like the fact that there really was
an interest from any other of the thirty one teams
in doing that is again sort of reflective of the
way the physicians valued across the NFL. Like, for example,
like when Frank Clark was was was tagged a few
(18:03):
years ago, you know that the Chiefs went and got him,
you know, and there are other examples of that from
across the NFL where the Tech now first round pick.
But you can negotiate that down. You can trade a
guy when he's in the tag like you know, others said, okay,
like I've tagged and it doesn't look like he's going
(18:24):
to get a long term deal done with his team,
and so like let's go and see if there's an
opportunity there. And you know, the facts that that didn't
happen with Josh Jacobs and Saquon Barkley, who were two
premier players at that position. And you know, Jacobs had
a great year last year for the Raiders. Obviously, Saquon
you know, we don't need to go over his history,
but you know, he lived up to his potential finally
and stayed healthy last year. The fact that those you
(18:47):
know sorts of suitors aren't out there for him, I
think is probably another reflection of the way that the
NFL position and the way position does.
Speaker 9 (18:56):
Some of that have to do with what you give
up in exchange. If someone was to provide an offer,
is it standard that whether it's a quarterback, running back, whatever,
it's two first round picks.
Speaker 8 (19:08):
Well, that's the rule. Yeah, So, I mean the rule is.
Speaker 14 (19:12):
You can sign a guy to an offer sheet, and
and and if the other team has the right to
match that the original team has the right to match.
And if they don't match, then you know, he signs.
Speaker 8 (19:23):
The the guy.
Speaker 14 (19:23):
Signed the offer, she becomes a contract, and the original
team gets two first round picks. But we've seen cases
in the past where guys have been tagged and then
they've been traded on the tag.
Speaker 8 (19:33):
Like I said, Frank.
Speaker 14 (19:34):
Clark, I believe that sheeted down to a first and
a second round pick. I'd have to go back and look.
Speaker 9 (19:40):
Is that it's still a lot basically in today's day
a little bit given how running backs are viewed right,
which also plays a factor into that.
Speaker 8 (19:49):
Again. Brady, Sorry, I lost you there for a second.
My phone.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
Yeah, how's the cel phone reception of Nantucky? You guys
still there?
Speaker 14 (19:56):
I'm not on Nantucket anymore.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Well you're Martha's vinya where you're at?
Speaker 1 (20:00):
No?
Speaker 3 (20:00):
No, All right, Well we'll plock the car here.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
But uh no, I'm just saying that probably complicates or
makes teams hesitant to want to even submit an offer
sheet either knowing that they're going to have to give
up a hefty price potentially in the draft when they
could just go draft the running back with one of
those two picks they're giving up, right.
Speaker 14 (20:22):
Yeah, And you know it's I mean, look like I
think part of this analytics too in the team's few
positions in team.
Speaker 8 (20:29):
Building, you know.
Speaker 14 (20:29):
And I think the Rams have sort of become the
example of how you can load up at premium positions
and then just sort of make it work everywhere else,
you know. And if you look at like how they
won that Super Bowl, they paid a premier pass rusher
at the top of the market, and Aaron Donald they
paid a premier corner at the top of the market.
Jalen Ramsey premiere receiver at the top of the market
(20:50):
Super Cups, they're left tackle with pay Andrew Whitworth, the
quarterback paid at the top of the market in Matthew Stafford,
and then at a lot of other positions they had
young guys, guys on rookie contracts and they just sort
of made it work in a lot of other places,
you know, And so like I think that's sort of
become the model now where running back is one of
those positions where you just sort of make it work.
(21:10):
And its reflected in the Super Bowl team too.
Speaker 8 (21:12):
I mean, look like.
Speaker 14 (21:13):
The Chiefs started a seventh round rookie and Isaiah Pacheco
at running back in the Super Bowl. The other team
in the Super Bowl, the Eagles, had Miles Sanders, who
was on a rookie contract, and they let him go
to free agency even though he only got six million
dollars a year when he got out there, you know,
so they weren't willing to go even that far to
keep him. And I think that sort of shows the
(21:35):
way that the teams look at this position across the
NFL right now. And I think that that piece of
the Brady is the most important piece, Like what you
just talked about, Like the replaceability of the position. How
easy it is to find guys doesn't mean like Skate
Kwon Barkley and Josh Jacobs aren't great players. It's just
too easy to find competent guys.
Speaker 8 (21:54):
To replace them.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
Yeah, did we get like AI replacing people?
Speaker 12 (21:58):
Right?
Speaker 3 (21:58):
Right now?
Speaker 9 (21:58):
There's people who are dealing with the in a little
different way, but like they're concerned about their job because
there's algorithms now, an artificial intelligence that can replace what
they do in the workforce.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
I mean, it's there's a lot of people feeling like
running backs out there right now. I'm sure.
Speaker 14 (22:14):
It's like how It's like how how how?
Speaker 15 (22:16):
What?
Speaker 14 (22:17):
What places can I get to? Just what places can
I cut corners at?
Speaker 3 (22:21):
Right?
Speaker 14 (22:21):
Like, and I have sort of the analogy you're making there,
but it's like where can I best cut corners where
I'm going to be able to kind of stay with
last and you know you again, Like, I think running
back's been this way for a while. I think analytics
has heightened it where it's just gotten to this point
now where it's like, you know, we'll just throw a
(22:43):
fourth round pick out there and be done with it.
We don't we don't need to spend anything at that position,
you know. And you know, the interesting thing about it
too is like on the flip side, it's sort of
like created some bargains. Like Barrick Henry for what he
means to the Titans. Right, the guy's making I think
thirteen million dollars a year. Thirteen fourteen million dollars a year.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
That's nothing.
Speaker 14 (23:04):
I mean, that's like less than like Court and Sutton
makes Denver. You know, Nick Chubb like so central to
what the Browns are and he's making twelve million dollars year,
Like do you think the Titans and Browns recruit those contracts?
Hell no, you know, And so like on the flips
of all this, like because there hasn't to push the
market forward, you have like players getting word seen a
(23:28):
big deals, but actually look at relative Barkin's compared to
other positions. So it's just a really interesting dynamic. And
I don't know what fixes it because you know, again
the problem is the tag numbers low because the market
hasn't been pushed.
Speaker 8 (23:41):
It's too easy to replace these guys, too easy.
Speaker 14 (23:43):
To find competent guys that then you know, there's so
much emphasis in teams on previoum position, And you know,
I think analytics has only heightened all that and teams
actually being able to put like a number, you know,
on each position, like I value this position this way,
this position that way, and you know obviously you know,
(24:04):
and those sorts of studies running backs are getting a short.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
Maybe just just one more I guess question to add
to this topic before I'm sure we move on in
terms of like sentimental value or relationship you know.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Value.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
I mean, does that not play a part? And and
this and the approach to how we look at running backs.
I mean, because when I look at a Saquon Barkley,
I mean you're talking about a stand up guy, a
community based guy, a guy that's well respected and admired
in the locker room. I mean when you when you
(24:49):
start to kind of weigh it out, maybe it's not
hard that they can get through it once they figure
out what they're going to do. But doesn't this kind
of dam misted a relationship to a guy that seems
to be a very solid person to your community as
it applies to the giants.
Speaker 14 (25:07):
And I mean, I mean that exists with Josh, you know,
to be honest with you, right, I you know, I
and I think you guys are probably better to answer
this than I than I am. But I think you
can resonate in your locker room too, you know. I mean,
like those guys know, like those guys know, you know
what sort of person ups is, how hard.
Speaker 8 (25:27):
He works, what he meant to the team.
Speaker 14 (25:29):
Those guys know what Sakwon Barkley means to the Giants,
you know what I mean. They know what he thoughts
are from an injury standpoint, they know what he did
to get back. They know, you know, what sort of
leader he was for them. And you know, I think
that that's why like the Titans and the Browns felt
good when they paid Derrick Henry and Nick Chubb, because
they knew what that sort of signified to their locker
(25:51):
room and their program.
Speaker 8 (25:53):
Right. You know, when Mike Brabel meant.
Speaker 14 (25:54):
The decision to pay Derrick Henry or Kevin Stefanski and
Andrew Berry make the decision to pay Nick Chuck, they
know how that's going to resonate with the people in
their organization. Everyone's be happy for them, and everyone's going
to take note of what those guys are rewarding, you know,
And so I think that's that's sort of the issue
now on the other end of this is you know,
(26:15):
I think if you look at New York, Joe Shane
and Brian Daball did a great job there in year one,
and you know, I think that's a part of it,
is like, all right, now, what are you rewarding coming
out of here? One same thing with Josh McDaniels and
Dave Ziggler in Vegas. You know, with Josh Jacobs, it's.
Speaker 8 (26:32):
Like players pay attention to who you're.
Speaker 14 (26:34):
Paying into, what you're rewarding, and who you're giving a
hard time to. And so I certainly think that that
can be part of it. You know, I and players understand.
You guys know it's better than me, but players understand
it's a business and negotiations are tough and everything else.
But yeah, I certainly think that there's like that idea,
like that there could be some sort of feeling in
the locker room in the organization, like that's the guy
(26:56):
you're giving a hard time to. I certainly think that
could be the case.
Speaker 6 (27:00):
Brier joining us here on Fox Sports Radio, senior NFL
reporter at the MMQB. Get him on Twitter at Albert Breer.
I want to ask you about another running back, Dalvin Cook,
because you know, betting odds came out courtesy of DraftKings
that said that Dalvin Cook the favorite to land him
was the New England Patriots. And then we hear yesterday
that Leonard Fournette, Darryl Henderson, both those guys worked out
(27:22):
for the Patriots. So does this mean that we could
be seeing Dalvin Cook maybe had elsewhere in that division?
What is the latest on his standing?
Speaker 14 (27:31):
Does feel like the AFC East is sort of where
he's going to land, you know, I know Amy and
and we've talked about this before. That deal basically in place,
the trade for Dalvin Cook in March, and that's all
true and for out to him, and you know, he
like I think part of it is they they want
(27:51):
to add a big play element of their offense. That's
how Minnesota would he use them this year too, if
they've been able to work out some sort of contract
with him, you know. And so Miami is still lingering there.
The Jets, I think, are certainly still in the mix.
And you know, bringing in Dalvin Cook, they'd have to
move some things around, but bringing in Dalvin Cook would
allow them to be judicious and bringing and bringing Brits
(28:13):
Hall back off the a CL and then you know,
I think the Patriots want to add another threat to
their offense. And I think once the ship sailed on
DeAndre Hopkins, it opened up the door for them to
do something.
Speaker 8 (28:24):
With Dalvin Cooks.
Speaker 14 (28:25):
So I think Cook is they're going to add that,
They're going to add at the running back position, you know,
And I think that they want to be able to
take the heat off from Andre Stevenson a little bit.
And so you know, I I Cook some Paly going
to take a look at, definitely have taken a look at.
And I think those three teams are sort of the
teams that are squarely in it right now. And I think,
like everything alse, a lot of this is going to
(28:46):
come down to guaranteed money, Like if you willing to
guarantee some money for the guy into a second year?
Like how far are you willing to go in year one?
Can you get to like five seven million dollars this
year and then guarantee some money next year. I think
those are the questions that are going to be asked.
And Yeah, I think he'll he'll I think he'll find
a landage spot relatively soon.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Albert last one for me.
Speaker 9 (29:08):
As we inched closer today, I think it should be
the final day of the approval for the Washington Commando sale.
Do you want to try to just summarize Dan Snyder's
tenure as as an owner and give us any sort
of I guess intuition that you've got out of it, maybe
what's going to happen in the future as Washington moves
on with this new ownership group.
Speaker 14 (29:29):
Well, I think if you want me to sum up
Dan Snyder's tenure, I'm not sure there's a single individual
team sport in North America. I can't speak for the
rest of the world, but I don't know if there's
any individual in any team sport in North America's more
done more damage to the brand of his franchise than
Dan Snyder did to that franchise.
Speaker 9 (29:48):
Now yet and yet he'll still sell for a for
a record, a record in NFL history.
Speaker 8 (29:55):
No, but think about that.
Speaker 14 (29:56):
But think about they mean they were I think I
said this year before, like they may not have been
the Yankees, like when you were drafted there, they weren't the.
Speaker 8 (30:06):
Yankees or the Canadians.
Speaker 14 (30:08):
And stuff, but they weren't far off from PA. I
mean like they were they were for a flagship franchise
for the NFL, and they're not even close to that anymore.
So I think it's an exciting day for DC fans.
And you know, I've had the opportunity to get to
(30:28):
Paris and watch people around him. You know, I think
this is this is a guy who you know, over
the last decade has learned a lot from the positives
and negatives that he's gone through.
Speaker 8 (30:40):
And owning the Devils and the Sixers.
Speaker 14 (30:42):
And I think that's really gonna help him.
Speaker 8 (30:43):
Like I think you see with a lot.
Speaker 14 (30:44):
Of these new owners you know in Caroline and then
last year the ownership group in den a lot of
times that these guys come in thinking they have all
the answers and because if it's so successful in business,
have a real like idea of how they want to
do it. I don't really understand the dynamics of pro
score And it's almost like over the first three, four
(31:05):
or five years they got to stub their toe bunch
before they really learn. All right, Like this is how
I see it. This is like the types of people I.
Speaker 8 (31:13):
Want to hire.
Speaker 14 (31:14):
And the great news for Washington people isn't just the
dance his way out.
Speaker 8 (31:17):
They're bringing in a guy.
Speaker 14 (31:19):
Who's already sort of been through a lot of that,
you know, because he's already owned teams. He's already gone
through a lot of mistakes and maybe and all that
different stuff the billionaires that come in and buy teams
go on through. So yeah, I mean it's going to
be I think a really interesting six months here in DC. Obviously,
(31:40):
you know a lot of people.
Speaker 8 (31:41):
In that organization I think.
Speaker 14 (31:42):
Will be competing for their jump players, coaches, front office
people over the next six or seven months, and i
over the next or seven months, it's going to be
Josh Harris kind of learning the ropes and being comfortable.
And then you know, obviously, I think we all think
that comes Januarybruary, whether things go really well or not,
there are gonna be some decisions to be made.
Speaker 6 (32:02):
Get him on Twitter at Albert Breer, senior NFL reporter
at the mm QB gearing up for another training camp tour. Albert,
we appreciate it, always a good time. Thanks for hanging
out with us here. We'll do it again next week.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
Thanks.
Speaker 9 (32:16):
You know, it almost sounds like at times when you're
interviewing him like you're going through the drive through and
you get little bits and pieces back and forth between
the person in the drive.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
Through and then you and your car.
Speaker 6 (32:27):
Yeah, you know.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Copy with extra. You know they say they get fresh days,
say pull up to the window just to say.
Speaker 6 (32:42):
He's he must have the most impressive call waiting interruptions
that I've ever remember call waiting back in the day.
I'll hold on somebody's clicking through. You would just get
there and you knew somebody was getting getting a call
because their voice would skip. He's got it every single should.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
I think his crib is amazing. That's what we need
to install something in his backyard, Like, I'm serious. I
just feel like we're gonna install one of those big
towers in your backyard just so you can have cell
phone reception for us. Like, let's not go the cheap
route and get him like a different service provider. Let's
go big and let's just try to dig in and
(33:19):
create this huge tower in his backyard so wherever he goes,
like around his property, he's got reception.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
I think that's the play.
Speaker 6 (33:27):
Yeah, I agree, And again, maybe stick around next week
and you could discover whether or not we get that done.
And speaking of which, at the end of your first year,
Discover credit cards automatically double all the cash back you've earned.
That's right, everything you've earned doubled serious CC terms and

Speaker 6 (35:14):
Tony Khan is the chief football strategy officer for the
Jacksonville Jaguars. He's also the son of Shadkhan, the owner
of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he was talking with Dan
Levatard recently about, you know, just the all of a sudden,
the Saudi money that could be finding its way into
professional sports and you know, maybe knocking on the NFL's door.
(35:37):
We saw what happened with livgolf and the PGA Tour,
and of course, you know, this all sparked up because
Tony Khan runs a soccer team over in Europe. They
had a star player who was recently you know, tried
to be lured over to Sadi with a bunch of
money to leave the team. He ended up not leaving
the team, but Tony Khan decided to share his thoughts
(35:59):
on the potential of Saudi money making its way to
a place like the NFL. Here's what we had to say.
Speaker 17 (36:05):
If you have enough money, you can get away with anything,
including murder, and you know, try to sign up all
the top players in the world. Certainly they have approached
a lot of great players and I'm very very interested
to see where this goes. But for us, we're definitely
committed to keeping our top stars and doing what it'll take.
Speaker 6 (36:28):
He's a murderer, A nice little murder accusation.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
I mean, you can't throw that out there and not
even like stop pause for effect, say I was joking
or anything.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
Sounds like he's been a part of part of doing that.
Speaker 6 (36:42):
No, I think, I mean, it.
Speaker 4 (36:44):
Just sounds like he's been a part of it, you know, Like,
I don't know, man, I think he was this conversation, right,
I mean, I think he was too.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
You don't want to be that guy.
Speaker 6 (36:55):
That's sort of the narrative surrounding the Saudi money. Is
that the money, all the stuff that we've talked about
before with like live golf, Why would you want their money?
They're responsible for this, this, this.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
And this.
Speaker 6 (37:09):
I don't know that Tony Kahan was outing himself.
Speaker 4 (37:12):
I would have walked that back if I was him, Like,
that's just not like maybe that was a poor example,
you know, like maybe maybe I should have rethought that one.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
I don't. I don't.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
He just threw it out there. So as a matter
of fact, you know, you know he's got money. He
should have added that to the list of things that
you say, you know or you can do. You can
just say what the hell you want to say when
you got to turn the money.
Speaker 6 (37:35):
But I think he was giving the example more towards
why the Saudi's uh have been able to throw around
all that money. Okay, it gives them the ability to
do a lot of things.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
Let's just pivot to another portion of the murder. I
don't want to pivot there.
Speaker 9 (37:53):
There is that concern or speculation that the with the
p I m if I'm not a staying a p
I excuse me, is going to get more involved in
professional sports. I would say this, by and large, there's
a lot of investing going on into professional sports. Like
it's become an entirely different investment sector for people out there.
(38:17):
Like ownership structures are changing, they're becoming a little bit
more inclusive. They're looking at the ability for stakeholders or
like celebrities where they might not be able to invest
as much, but they get involved and they're able to
kind of be around a lot of the marketing activities.
It's changed so much, I mean the investments in women's sports,
(38:38):
the investments in EPL, I think other things around the
world right now. And so there's no doubt that the
Saudis are looking at trying to get involved in more
than just live golf and just golf itself, and looking
to get involved in more professional sports because they've got
the deep pockets to do.
Speaker 17 (38:55):
So.
Speaker 6 (38:55):
Yeah, I just you know, you trace back money and
you could probably find a lot of things wrong with it.
So as we've seen what BA you know things end
up meeting at the same point in the middle sometime murder.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
